Tips from locals
Another great museum about the history of mining in Golden and the importance of Colorado School of Mines.
There are some remarkable gems and minerals displayed at the museum, and the story of Colorado's colorful mining history.
The Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum is one of the best of its kind. Esteban is a geologist and has visited many around the world, and he is quite impressed with this one. If you like rocks, you'll love this!
Hands down one the most seasoned geology museums in the country--if not the world! From meteorites to world-class ore samples, there's plenty to see at the free museum. Even those who don't like rocks and minerals will be wowed by the fantastic specimens, guaranteed. Great for kids and families…

“This building was the Territorial Capitol before Colorado became a state! The food is pretty good, but I come here for the live music! They have Open Mic every Tuesday starting around 6:00. They also have live music every Thursday beginning around 5:30. ”

“This is two blocks from our BnB! My favorite this about it is the outdoor patio area. It is literally right on Clear Creek, and it's just a fun place to watch life! The trees, mountains and creek are beautiful. But also, you may be seeing tubers and kayakers in the creek, hangliders over Lookout Mountain and people strolling along the creek path. Make sure to try the Mountain Man Salad!”
