Why locals recommend it
"Space Center Houston is a leading science and space learning center, the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and a Smithsonian Affiliate museum." It is a great place to visit for everyone, while it is a museum with lots of information to read. They also have a great tour to see historic spaces, as well as some rockets, and the space shuttle. Even for non tech interested people its a great way to spend some hours.

You can’t come to Houston without seeing NASA. You can take a tour of Mission control Center and check out all the Rockets that have been to the moon.
