Why locals recommend it
"Space Center Houston is a leading science and space learning center, the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and a Smithsonian Affiliate museum." It is a great place to visit for everyone, while it is a museum with lots of information to read. They also have a great tour to see historic spaces, as well as some rockets, and the space shuttle. Even for non tech interested people its a great way to spend some hours.
Tips from locals
Want to be a step closer to the moon? Check out the Space X rocket. They have amazing Christmas lights for the holidays! Only 30 mins from away from the property via I45.
One of my favorite place. It is on the way to the island.

“This museum has it all – a dinosaur hall, planetarium, IMAX theater, and butterfly exhibit. I’ve always enjoyed the gemstone collection. Parking can be a nightmare since the zoo is close-by. I’d Uber there instead.”

“Nestled in the heart of Downton is Discovery Green, a 12-acre, multi-use park that always has something exciting happening. In the spring and fall, spend happy hour listening to local musicians perform live on stage, browse and buy from local craftsmen at monthly markets and, in the winter, enjoy ice skating on Kinder Lake (for a small fee). There is also an array of ever-changing art installations scattered around this luscious oasis.”
