Why locals recommend it
The MIll is one of the classic San Francisco spots that everyone needs to check out. It offers good people watching and good bread—there’s a bakery in here—and the Four Barrel coffee they serve is great. The big caveat here is that there’s no wifi, which actually makes it a good place to get work like writing done or to have a meeting. If you really need to focus, I would say go between 10 am to 3 pm. It gets a lot quieter after the morning rush.

Single origin coffees & fancy lattes by Four Barrel. Try their toast! They’ve got great pizza available on most evenings, too.

Light and airy coffee shop with light food. You can also get some good bread to take away. We get our sourdough starter from here.

“Hands down my favorite restaurant in SF. Fantastic neighborhood (if I had $6mil I would live there). Have dinner at NOPA and go see your favorite band next door at the Independent. Divisadero is a great street to cruise and sightsee”

Pizza Place
“The oozy, buttery deep-dish pies are not a carbon copy of some Chicago creation by any stretch. With topping possibilities like artichokes and goat cheese, they’re a distinctly California creation — and a drop-dead delicious one at that. Note: the menu recently welcomed some healthy seeming things like a roasted kale appetizer and a broccolini topped deep dish pie, but don’t miss the classic — with sausage, mushrooms, and green bell pepper — and the spicy chicken wings. ”
