Once gritty and run-down, the increasingly trendy Panier district in the heart of the city is delineated by the 17th-century Fort Saint-Jean at its southern tip, and the unmissable Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations (MuCEM), which opened in 2013, to the west.
In all reality this area is triangle going from the Mucem all the way down the viex port to this located spot on the map. It's the old Marseille with lots of artist, cafés and craft shop for tourists.
This is a great place to walk during the day. You can stop anywhere to have a cafe and enjoy the sun. Also, walk into the different shops open to the public
