Tips from locals
Lovely breakfast spot. It's located off the road tucked into the hillside overlooking the ocean.
Located a few miles south and part of Schoolhouse Creek Inn. Exceptional food. They generally serve until 2:00, so a late breakfast is possible. They have a feeder located outside on an old tree stump and its entertaining to watch the birds and squirrels quarreling over the food supply. Highly…

Great place for breakfast or brunch. A new local favorite, it's tasty and affordable. They also have bottomless mimosas.

“So I was told when I first moved into town, that I need to eat where the locals eat. That is where the food is always the best. David’s has got this one hands down in my opinion. It’s a big noisy coffee shop that is usually crowded, but don’t let that fool you, the service is excellent. So is the food. ”

Cafe
“ This cafe is located in the town of Elk, approx. 15 miles south of Mendocino. It will take 20-30 minutes, depending on season and traffic. Driving along the coast is scenic and beautiful, so take your time. The food is great, atmosphere even better. This is a local spot and very popular, so during the summer season, can require a bit of a wait. If you have a larger party, they will take a reservation, otherwise, its first come, first seated. There is an outdoor deck that has a nice view to the ocean side. It can be a bit brisk, even in summer, so have layers to don. The beach is located across the street and is a great way to either work up an appetite or work off a meal. ”

Point of Interest
“This walking trail extends between the 2 parking lots and runs along our stunning coastline. It is paved and a great place to bike, walk, or run. If you don't like any of those options consider a segway tour to explore the path! The northern parking lot is the access to the famous Glass Beach. ”
