A playground for all ages and it’s an open space so the adults can enjoy it too! It’s free and lots of fun!

This is a great central city park with a range of activities for the whole family. There are food vendors, coin operated BBQ's a range of seating options (sheltered, on the river bank etc) and clean public toilets.

Boat or Ferry
“Admire the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens or the changing face of the city centre as you are expertly guided gently along the Avon River on authentic Edwardian Punting tours. Kayaks are also available for hire from the Antigua Boat sheds if you would like to explore on your own. The Boatshed Cafe here is a good spot for breakfast, lunch, bite or coffee.”

Zoo
“Willowbank is a local zoo/petting zoo. Its not the cheapest place to go (If you are around for longer its definitely worth to buy a year pass) but an awesome experience. You can feed and pet lots of animals and even see a Kiwi bird in real life! If you are lucky you may also be around for a Haka dance (Native Maori fighting dance) which locals present there occasionally.”
