I mean. Really. You’re in Charlottesville. Thomas Jefferson’s home is here. It’s beautiful. The gardens and views are overwhelmingly gorgeous. The history virtually oozes off the mountain and spills like lava down over everything. Just go there. There’s a kid-friendly house tour and a kids’ room…

Ummmm. It's Moticello. Go. It's historic. It's Thomas Jefferson at his best. ;-) But seriously, if you are a history buff, this is a must. It's a little over an hour drive.

It is very close by. Excellent guided tours of the famous founding father's home. Highly recommended for adults and children. The tours are always being updated to reflect newly discovered information and better understanding of the lives of enslaved persons who served Jefferson and his family.
