Tips from locals
Ski resort that is more popular with beginners and a little farther from the cabin. Leave early to get a parking spot at the base and avoid having to shuttle in from remote parking lots.
We are within walking distance to the lifts (Skiing/ Snowboarding in the winter ~ Mountain biking, Hiking, View seeing in the summer/ fall season)
One of the best spots in So Cal to enjoy some downhill skiing.
Although Bear is known for it's parks and jumps, we think Snow Summit has the best views of the lake, and the friendliest staff. Protip: Try the bar at the top of the East Mountain Express Lift for amazing views and strong drinks.
Great destinations for skiing and snowboarding. Ask me about any offers and/or discounts they may have during your visit.
If you're looking to Ski / Sbowboard, this is the most popular spot on the Mountain.
Bit more family friendly vibe for both Skiing/Snowboarding in Winter and Mountain Biking in Summer.

“Bear Mountain is known for it's park design! It also has Southern California’s only halfpipes and largest learning area. There is a inter-resort shuttle that goes from Snow Summit to Bear Mountain every 30 minutes. It's often easier to find parking at Bear Mountain resort! ”

“The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a rehabilitation facility offering injured, orphaned and imprinted wild animals a safe haven; temporarily while they heal or permanently as they are unable to survive on their own. 90% of all the animals brought for rehabilitation are successfully released back into their native environment. Those that remain on exhibit are either too injured or have been imprinted by humans and can not be released back into the wild to care for themselves. ”
