About this place
Gran Eléctrica, in the heart of DUMBO, offers market-driven and regionally-influenced Mexican cuisine, showcasing a diversity of dishes from across the country. The kitchen's emphasis on keeping its menu rooted in authentic cooking is expressed with ingredients such as fresh hand-pressed tortillas crafted with heirloom corn, house-made crema and queso fresco, and spicy chorizo made on-site. The bar incorporates Mexican flavors and seasonal ingredients as well, with vibrant cocktails that feature tequila and mezcal by small-batch and artisan distillers. As for design, the restaurant boasts wallpaper inspired by Mexican artist José Guadalupe Posada. And then there's the spacious backyard, situated right underneath the Brooklyn Bridge; in other words: the place to be in the summertime.
Tips from locals
Finish off your day at this bar-restaurant with a Mexican food and some drinks. Our Mexican-food-and-nightlife consultant has kind words for the tacos, and the tequila- and mezcal-based cocktails are also popular (and potent). If it’s a nice night, take advantage of the outdoor patio seating beneath…
Fantastic high end mexican food in a fun environment. Great for a weekend night, but you may need a reservation.
Gran Electrica is a restaurant in Dumbo that that does great margaritas, delicious tacos (small portions but super tasty) and modern Mexican. Absolutely lovely!
They serve Mexican food but they have amazing cocktails and have a great backyard.
