Christchurch harbour is a natural harbour named after the nearby town. Two rivers, the Avon and the Stour, flow into the harbour at its northwest corner. There are areas of nature reserves around the harbour with Hengistbury Head on the southern side. The head can be reached by a walk from the visitors centre by the golf club or via a ferry from Mudeford Quay. The harbour is generally shallow and has a double high tide. The harbour flows into Christchurch Bay through a narrow channel known as The Run

The area around Christchurch Harbour offers a series of pleasant walks and beautiful views. If you head towards Christchurch Sailing Club and look along the estuary as it winds towards the open sea, you can spot the majestic sight of Hengistbury Head and on a clear day you can see the needles off the Isle of Wight.

For Spa indulgence and afternoon tea plus panoramic dinning from their deck. Try Upper Deck restaurant for indulgent food all year (& with an incredible view from their deck in the summer).

Enjoy great cocktails at the bar and choose to eat at either the hotel restaurant or The Jetty. You won’t be disappointed, the Cheese Soufflé is a must.
