Duinrell amusement park in Wassenaar is slightly larger than Drievliet. In addition to the usual attractions, the park also has a large water park with a variety of fast slides. The park is located in a dune area just behind the coast, giving it a natural, peaceful atmosphere. Duinrell can be reached from The Hague Central Station in 20 minutes by bus.

Madurodam is a Dutch miniature city in The Hague on a scale of 1 in 25. The miniature city has mostly inspired the construction of various theme parks worldwide such as Legoland (Billund) and the Disneyland Park (Anaheim). It is named after George Maduro a Curaçao student who distinguished himself as a cavalry officer in the battle of The Hague during German attack on the Netherlands in 1940 and died in Dachau concentration camp in February 1945; his parents donated the initial capital for the project, which the Maduro family considers a monument to their only son. Madurodam depicts a Dutch city and society through more than 700 models of buildings from all parts of the Netherlands. There are interactive parts where visitors themselves can contribute, such as the closing of the Oosterscheldekering or the loading of containers in the Rotterdam port. Some parts contain auditory informative explanations about the items on display. Each visitor receives a special pass at the entrance with which these explanations can be activated.

The Peace Palace is globally known as the temple of peace and justice, and home to two judicial institutions, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). The Palace was built in 1913 to house the PCA and a library. Soon after, they were joined by the ICJ, the official court of the League of Nations. After the Second World War, when the League of Nations was dissolved and the United Nations was founded, the ICJ of the United Nations took up residence in the Palace.

The Scheveningen Pier is a pier in the North Sea near Scheveningen. Opened in 1961 and replaced the old pier from 1901, the building serves as a catering, shopping and entertainment complex. The pier was closed in 2013 because it no longer met the fire safety requirements, but after a major renovation, it is (partially) reopened in 2015. More info: www.pier.nl

The Dunes of Meijendel are only a few minutes bike away (15/20min by walking). There are plenty of very nice bike routes and hiking paths that will lead you to beautiful natural sights ! If you're lucky you might encounter the wild cows (the same as the one in picture in the dinning room!) . There is even a cute restaurant to eat famous "Pannekoeken" (Dutch big pancakes), and you can reach the beach through the dunes in 20min from the house. It is also a nice way to reach Scheveningen.

A picturesque canal town. Home of the world famous Delft Blue ceramics and the birthplace of Johannes Vermeer. Literally a tiny Amsterdam without the tourists. Stunning place to explore, pop in for shelter on a heated patio to hide from the rain. Ample squares full of both trendy and classic cafes and restaurants for meals, coffee, beer or late night drinks. (Make sure you find all the squares!) You can climb 367 stairs to the top of the gorgeous Nieuwe Kerk (the highest point in Delft). Great shopping in local concept stores...many with hidden cafes and bars within them. 15 minutes by car.

The historic center of Delft is a picture! You walk between ancient facades where all kinds of special and nice shops can be found along old canals full of boats. One place is even more beautiful than the other. And then you suddenly step out of one of the narrow streets into a huge square. This is the Markt: the place to be with even more nice shops, the beautiful detached town hall with red shutters and many decorations and the huge tower of the Nieuwe Kerk. A cold beer tastes extra good on one of the many cozy terraces of this beautiful square. Start the day with a fresh coffee and homemade apple pie at " Uit de Kunst" ( Oude Delft 140). In front of the coffee house is a telephone booth in wich a different artist exhibits every month. Jokingly it is also called the smalllest museum of the world. Walk along the canal to the most photogenic part of Delft on the corner of Nieuwstraat and Wijnhaven. Take a few photos and continue your way to Koornmarkt 113 where you board a tour boat for a trip throught the canals of Delft ( from april to october). Lunch: It's time to have lunch at Stads-Koffyhuis Kleyweg ( Oude Delft 133), which serves the tastiest sandwiches in the Netherlands. Also take a look at the toilets, which are decorated with Delft Blue mosaic. Then it's time to visit the Prinsenhof Museum ( Sint-Agathaplein 1) were bullet holes in the wall remind you of attack on Prince Willem of Oranje in 1584. Continue to the Vermeer Center Delft ( Voldersgracht 21) and find out everything about the master of light, Johannes vermeer. Walk to the Markt via the workshop of aardewerkfabriek De Candelaer ( Kerkstraat 13), were Delft Blue painters are working. Resting break: If it's time for a snack you can choose from a Dutch herring at the fish banks ( Camarets2) or a portion of "Bill Clinton" poffertjes in the Gulden ABC ( Markt34). Enjoy this break because you will be climbing the 365 steps of the Nieuwe Kerk for a magnificent view that stretches from Rotterdam to The Hague. If bad weather hunders you from climbing, visit the Praalgraf and the exhibition about the Royal House in the Nieuwe Kerk. Burgundian experience: A day in Delft must be concluded with a good meal. First order a glass of beer and a portion of bitterballen in café De Wijnhaven ( Wijnhaven 22). De Sjees ( Markt 5) or Stadscafé De Waag ( Markt 11). Then opt for a Burgundian experience in Stadsherberg de Mol ( Molslaan 104), were you will be given medieval clothing and must eat with your hands. If you prefer a cilinary experience that will stimulate yor taste buds, then sit down at restaurant Van Der Dussen ( Bagijnhof 118).

Holland's most famous seaside resort Scheveningen has lots of attractions and beach pavilions. Walk along the boulevard, discover SEA LIFE or enjoy sunset dining. Check out the historic Kurhaus hotel (have a drink in their restaurant). The famous Pier has been recently refurbished with a nice range of food, drinks and shopping. One of the Pier's latest tourist attractions is a Ferris wheel constructed high over the sea. The Ferris wheel is over forty meters high and has 36 closed gondolas with air conditioning, including one luxury VIP gondola with a glass bottom. All gondolas have comfortable seats and can sit up to six people.
