Join me, the chef at one of Brazil’s top Afro-Brazilian restaurants, as we set off on a culinary journey. My dishes honor the tradition of the orixás—the spirits representing nature's forces in Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian religion. • We’ll begin with a tribute to Oshun, the goddess of love and beauty, as sacred rhythms performed by an Ogã help set the tone for a warm, spiritual experience. • Next, we’ll enjoy a refreshing drink while we learn how Afro-Brazilian cuisine connects tradition, spirituality, and storytelling. • After our brief history lesson, I’ll guide you as we prepare a dish that harkens back to Candomblé tradition, using ingredients rich in history and symbolism. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of family, faith, and African heritage. • Finally, we’ll sit down for a communal meal. Foodies about town

This delicious introduction to food and drinks from around Brazil is unlike any other. Over the course of 4-5 hours, we'll eat and drink our way across the most interesting parts of Rio that most visitors never get to see. We'll start in one of Rio's bustling street markets, where we'll taste exotic fruits and street food dishes. After that, we'll head to my favorite Brazilian-Portuguese restaurant in Lapa for a taste of old-school Brazil, where the waiters dress in white jackets, and serve the most delicious salt cod croquettes in town. From there, we'll wander into Centro, the oldest part of the city to visit a secret foodie hotspot, a hole-in-the-wall serving classic boteco snacks (think Brazilian tapas). We’ll then take a short ride to Flamengo, where we'll taste the uniquely delicious regional dishes, first from Northeastern Brazil and finally from the Amazon. IMPORTANT: There is a different meeting point each day of the week and the Airbnb app is not able to handle this, so we will give you detailed information on how to get to the meeting point in a message after you book. ALSO: We generally do NOT serve feijoada or the rodizio style churrasco (all you can eat barbecue). But we can help you find the very best of both!

Coffee Hunters

This is an walking tour experience through the Historical Center of Rio de Janeiro, discovering cafes hidden in narrow streets and commercial buildings! Rio de Janeiro is a city with an incredible architectural variety that hides small 18th century churches and incredible local cafes that only those who live and work in the region know. The coffees are included in all stops of our tour. All the coffees on our discovery and tasting route are organically produced on Brazilian farms by local producers. This is a tour for all the coffee lovers around the world!

Backstreet bar-hopping & Brazilian tapas

We'll meet up in a lively bar in Lapa for a few drinks and some of Rio's famously delicious bar food. After visiting an ancient 'hole-in-the-wall' cachaça bar, we'll either head up into the North Zone or to Santa Teresa - in either case, we'll visit a couple of awesome little locals' bars. In each place we visit we'll have drinks - caipirinhas, locally brewed beers, cachaças and 'batidas' - as well as more food: traditional bar food snacks (think: Brazilian tapas) plus more substantial dishes. We'll visit gritty locals' bars and some fancier places too. Towards the end of the tour we'll return to the liveliest part of Lapa (packed full of bars, restaurants and samba clubs), or to a street samba event near the Port Zone. Here we'll finish up with a final drink and the guide will help you decide on the perfect follow-up activity, whether it be a bar, a samba club or just a taxi back to your hotel :) Other things to note: This tour focuses on traditional Brazilian drinking (and eating) culture, so it doesn't really work for people who only drink wine. Please come hungry and thirsty!

Santa Teresa Art Experience Tour

Our tours are designed to show not only the traditional sights but also hidden gems and unvisited places, as well as those actually frequented by locals. Let's discover Rio's most charming neighborhood: Santa Teresa, its streets, bars (let's taste the local flavors!), famous houses, such as Laurinda Santos Lobo's and we will also visit some artists' Atelier, where besides knowing the work of each artist we can talk to their own! We seek to integrate communities and the local economy into our tours in order to develop collective work and partnerships that benefit all involved and delight our visitors. What drives us is the enthusiasm for our history, culture and our art! Other things to note We can walk or take the tram to Santa Teresa neighborhood.

Magic Sunset

Welcome aboard. We will enjoy the most beautiful landscapes of Rio at sunset, relaxing to the sound of Brazilian music in the waters of Guanabara Bay. It will be two unforgettable hours in which we will admire Pão de Açucar, Corcovado and other wonders at dusk, enjoying a delicious national sparkling wine accompanied by typical snacks. We will leave BR Marina da Glória in search of my best observation points to admire the sunset. Other things to note Bring cameras, bathing suit and towel. Our experience is subject to weather conditions and can be canceled at any time.

Bistro in the countryside Dining with flavor and history

A Dinner in the Country: cooking with affection and history. We made the City/Campo transition and created a bistro atmosphere in the middle of the countryside! Our proposal is to cook for a small number of people (maximum 12). We prepare the dinner prioritizing the products grown in the Pitayas Project, or grown by local residents. During the service we present our products and our experience of exchanging the city of São Paulo for country life. Dinner consists of a drink prepared with one of our organic fruits, a starter, a main course and, finally, a dessert that also prioritize sweets prepared from our fruits. The menu changes according to what the land offers us in each season! Our menu is ovolacto, but we have adaptations for vegans, if we are advised at the time of booking.

Slow Food- tour at the Municipal Park

On the activity Slow Food tour at thee Municipal Park, the visitor will enter in contact with parts of this Park (an icon and heritage of the city) that are unexplored or noted both by residents and tourists. Meanwhile we walk, I explain about culture and history of the Park and the main plants of the itinerary, their edible and medicinal uses, as well as their aspects related to the local landscaping, a manner to share a little bit of my Landscaping knowledge aqcquired at the graduation. It is an unique opportunity to see the city through the lush nature it encompasses! We will gather at the entrance of the Francisco Nunes Theater, in which it will happen the attendant's presentation and the activity's explanation. Afterwards we are going to make a circular way through the park, observing around 30 species of edible plants and enjoying the local's landscaping. In the middle of the path we will make a brief lunch. Other things to note It is advisable to carry an umbrella in case of unexpected rain. The park has few toilets and they are very dirty, so I recommend that you go to the toilet before the tour begins. Great activity for groups, teams and team-buiildings!
