We had an amazing experience! Our tour guide Danny was so kind, accommodating & informative! We learned about the history of cacao & the current industry here & worldwide. We tried cacao straight from the fruit& saw the whole process made in front of us. Walked the light hike tour w/our tour guide who showed us many species of their cacao trees and insects. At the bottom of the mountain, there was a small waterfall where we could swim and have a cacao scrub, followed by the hike back up then we made our own chocolate bars. Had lunch and enjoyed chocolate fondue with fresh cut fruit.! (Lunch is a seperate cost) we highly recommend this experience. It was super super fun and yummy and we’re taking home our own custom chocolate bars.!

This experience is great and Jhon was wonderful. The experience was very interactive, first learning about the history of cacao in Colombia and then the rest of the world, up to present day. We tasted great cacao and raw nibs and he threw in some humour as well. We then ground our own chocolate and let is process while we took an amazing walking tour of the grounds and learned a lot about the history of the farm and family. We got to do an immersive one-of-a-kind experience using chocolate and a local body of water. Very cool. Bring your swimsuit! We came back to the chocolate making process and made our own chocolate bar to take him. Very enjoyable experience and even purchased some things to take home. Fantastic tour and great people. We loved it!

This tour was easily my favorite experience from my trip to Colombia! You get to learn about the history of chocolate, go on a guided walk around the beautiful farm, swim in a pristine river, and make (and eat) your own chocolate. Jhon’s family is very kind and made us feel so welcome. Jhon helped give us directions to take the bus from Guatapé and he picked us up from the bus stop in Bizcocho. However, if you prefer, he also offers private transportation from Guatapé. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience!

Jhon was an excellent guide and host. He and his wife were so welcoming to my wife and I throughout the entire experience. Everything was very comfortable and John’s family story was very interesting. He will say he is working on his English but it was very easy to understand him! The tour started with the raw fruits. We went into how the chocolate was processed and did that work ourselves. We then went for a walk in nature as our chocolate was being processed and got the history of the land and his connection it with many stops for tidbits along the way. We got to a pool at the base of a waterfall where we enjoyed our chocolate scrub and a swim. It was a magical place. Afterwards, we returned to the main area and made our own personalized chocolate bars. Everything was great and I would recommend this to anyone in the area!
