AIRBNB'S #1 "MOST WISHED-FOR LISTING WORLDWIDE!" *Remaining 2018 dates are available exclusively for folks that have the treehouse on their WISH LIST... Suite of three beautifully furnished rooms set among the trees. Just minutes from downtown, this secluded property is an urban retreat like no other. The treehouse provides an intimate, simple and restful retreat for 2 people. The treehouse is the subject of innumerable articles, blogs, Treehouse Masters and Today Show.
We are honored to have been named Airbnb's "#1 most wish-listed property in the world"!!! Thank you! The treehouse has a Southern nature - gracious, calming, and comfortable. Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of TV and magazine features including the Today Show, "Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse IV", Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and numerous others, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits? The treehouse consists of 3 separate areas - Mind, Body and Spirit - each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below. Mind - The Sitting Room: Antique furnishings and artifacts including 80 year old windows of pressed butterfly wings, a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw, fossils, a couch and chairs, its a great place to read or talk and has a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods... Body - The Bedroom: Sleeps 2. What could be better than a great bed up in the trees? The super comfortable double bed is outfitted with the world's best bedding: Parachute. These cozy linens are made of 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and pure Linen. They're Oeko-Tex certified, meaning no harmful chemicals or softening synthetics have been used. You'll have your best night's sleep ever here at the Treehouse! The bed is equipped with wheels so it can either be inside the room or rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below. The mattress has a warmer for cool nights and the tin roof makes rain storms something to be enjoyed. Spirit - The Hammock Deck: Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery, the deck surrounds the spirited "Old Man", a 165 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree--the largest of the 7 trees that support the treehouse suite and watch over its guests. BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. And while very private, you can see other residential buildings from the treehouses.. While you may hear the occasional siren, normal neighborhood noise, the devil's hair dryer (leaf blower) or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
  • First, this tree house is everything you see in the pictures and more. It was a really nice setting to just unplug for the night and enjoy each other's company and our surroundings. My biggest surprise - no bugs. None. It made for a great night sleeping with the doors and windows open and the bed rolled all the way out overlooking the creek. Katie and Peter are great hosts. Peter gave us a nice tour and the amenities they left for us when we arrived and the following morning were much appreciated. I highly recommend this for a romantic getaway.

  • Katie and Peter's tree houses are truly unique and beautiful. If you want a quiet retreat in nature that is close to everything in Atlanta, do not hesitate to book their tree houses! Our favorite part of the experience was laying on the bed, relaxing, and looking up into the trees. It also rained during one of the days of our stay, and it was just wonderful to listen to the rain on the tin roof.

    Wanda2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a magical and fantastic stay! Such a fun and different departure that truly makes you feel on a get away. Peter and Katie are fabulous hosts, and I will surely be back again!

    sally2014-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at the treehouse. I was greeted by Daisy and Peter on day one; it was like seeing an old friend (even though we had never met before). What wonderful energy from the hosts, the space, and the surroundings. We didn't want to leave, and I seriously considered looking into squatter's rights. We will continue to return to the treehouse even though it's only 15 minutes from our home/s. It was an amazing experience; one we won't soon forget.

  • If you are into forest magic and a sweet host, this place is for you. Charming. Park your car and don't leave until your time is up. Use a delivery service for food and drink and enjoy a little piece of heaven!

    Katie2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Like everyone else on Airbnb, this enchanting place had been on my bucket list for a long time. Now that i finally checked it off, i can honestly say it was even more magical than i imagined. The photos do not do this place justice. Such a lovely retreat and Peter is a fantastic host! If you are an animal lover, u will fall in love with the wildlife around u as well as the property dog Daisy and cat Haskell. Thank u again Peter for everything (and fresh coffee in the morning!) We will never forget it and will be back soon!

    Charlie2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Katie and Peter took very good care of my nephew and his wife after I surprised them with a night at the tree house as a wedding gift, the day after their wedding. I knew they had a wonderful time after they posted their stay on Instagram. Thank You Katie and Peter for sharing your little secret oasis with us.

    Designer2k2014-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta! A quite getaway within the city that is truly magical. Peter was a great host, someone who I would love to have coffee with sometime. He provided everything that we could of needed and more and greatly exceeded our expectations. Even in mid-July sleeping outside was very comfortable and cool. The Treehouse is a unique experience and something that I would recommend to everyone! We can't wait to go back and hopefully stay longer than just one night!

Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private deck surrounded by pristine and untouched nature just a short drive away from LA.
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down to its bare aluminum studs, the airstream has been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the pristine Santa Monica mountains rolling down to the Pacific ocean below. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best breaks or go hike Sandstone Peak (Santa Monica's highest mountain). But whatever you do, make sure not to miss the incredible sunsets off our deck. At night, watch the milky way appear and count the constellations above or the moon reflect on the ocean below. And if the wind is right, listen to the sounds of the crashing waves travel up the canyon or even the seals barking down below. And then at dawn, if you're lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK ON THE AIRBNB LINK FOR DIRECTIONS as it might take you to the wrong location. Only use the accurate directions provided on our itinerary. If you don't you might get lost and we are not responsible if you do not follow our easy and foolproof directions. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are a mice in the Santa Monica mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the airstream if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the airstream but we do have 4 traps around the airstream so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. In three years we have yet to ever see a rattle snake near the airstream so the area is definitely not prone to them. This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to potential slippery road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. The beauty of this experience lies in seeing infinite views and yet no trace of humankind. Sleeping with the doors open, under the milky-way while hearing the ocean waves crashing below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack. Our guests have the most special nights here. Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology :-)
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.
  • This place is definitely a gem!! I will be definitely coming back and those images of the sunset are ingrained in my thoughts/memories forever. Such a special place and unique unlike any other. I can’t emphasize enough how beautiful it was. Wish I could’ve stayed extra days. Definitely follow her instructions on how to get there and you should have no problem. When I went it didn’t rain nor was it as cold so we were pretty lucky. Definitely bring food to cook. I stopped by the local markets before I got up to the location and it was pretty pricey. Come prepared! Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us! I will never forget.

    Nga2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Have you seen Harry Potter movie? Well, this Airstream and view and stars and ocean and that unique shower that morning breeze.. That's what I personally would call real magic for sure! I'm happy to realize that some people on AirBNB not going for a money/profit only, but actually carefully and thoughtfully working on delivering something more then just a nice stay. They are creating beautiful memories. Thank you Rani, for your talent and for sharing it all with us!

    Maxim2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures really do not do this place justice. The sweeping views are amazing and you cannot beat the sunset. Although phone cell signal is nonexistent and warm water is dependent on Mother Nature, that adds to the charm and adventure of staying in this airstream. A unique experience that I would recommend to anyone. Rani was a great host and was very responsive to any questions or needs that we had.

    Jay2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most stunning places I have ever been. The hosts were incredible - great communication. Will definitely be back!

  • Not worth missing.

    Brandon2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • The airstream and location is absolute magic. I have never been anywhere like it! It was unfortunately foggy during my one night there, but even in dense fog it was still a dream -- like floating in a cloud. Rani's place is a slice of heaven. I am already planning on going back!

    Asia2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We decided to take a West coast trip. We only stayed here for one night, but it was the absolute best night of any vacation we've ever had!!! The sunset was amazing! The sunrise was just as great and worth waking up for! On the way there, we called to check in. Christian told us a group had snuck some people in and had a party the night before and drained the battery, but he had it replaced before we got there! So it was great that they managed to give us the full accommodation, given the circumstances We definitely treated it as a glamping experience and hopefully they will be happy to know we didn't turn on a single light during our stay!

    Julie2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The airstream is gorgeous, even better in person than in the photos. The views are incredible, and the airstream itself is very clean and comfortable. The interior is fun and stylish. Rani was a fantastic host--friendly and responsive. We weren't sure if we would be able to book due to incoming rainstorms, but Rani was patient and thoughtful, working with us to book our stay as soon as the weather was clear. We had a great experience and absolutely hope to book another stay this summer!

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse (all photos tagged with #thejoshuatreehouse) This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • We loved the Joshua Tree House and everything Sara & Rich arranged for us. It was everything and more we expected. We had a wonderful time. Thanks to Sara and Rich

    Kristin2016-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect! Would absolutely recommend staying here. Such a great way to to experience life in the desert :)

    Rebecca2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this house. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a modern experience of a cabin in the desert. From the cozy kitchen where we cooked a family breakfast to watching the Milky Way from the jacuzzi to close each evening, this place gave us the perfect amount of seclusion while conveniently moments away from the restaurants and shops in Joshua Tree. Bonuses? The hammock room is a great place to sneak away to read or nap (while still in the comfort of the cooler inside air). There is a yoga mat (and lots of empty space) in the indoor bedroom, or hot yoga (August in the desert) can be done in the carport. The beds in this place are like a dream; we loved getting to test out the Casper mattress that we've been eyeing for a while now. Sara and Rich have clearly worked hard to create a lovely experience that shows the personality of the place in which is resides, and we fully appreciated all of their hard work.

    Ryan/Kathryn2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Definitely recommend staying here. It's got everything you could want and need, including lots of nice little homely personal touches, and the beds are so comfortable you won't want to get out of them!

    Joon2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a quiet new year's at Sara & Rich's place. It was perfect for us. Our hosts were super responsive during our weekend stay. It was a great place to start the new year.

  • This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Lovely design, beautiful grounds and great hosts.

    Jamie2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really amazing, you are both far away from home in another planet, in the desert and in the meantime you feel well at home. Joshua Tree House is a little world and I was really happy to stay there for two nights. Sara and Rich are the greatest hosts and are very inspiring. They prepared a guide for our stay, and the house was all ready and beautiful when we arrived. It's all perfect!

  • The joshua tree house is magical! Clean, well thought out and beautiful. My husband , best friend and 7 month old baby had a great time. The beds were so comfortable and the hot tub was a fun touch. When we arrived the wifi wasn't working and they worked with us immediately to get it fixed. Would def be back!

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. Since we book so far in advance, if you would like to stay here, check out our other listing, the Hummingbird Haven: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6562632 We are in a quiet yet convenient location. Shaded by Oak and Madrone trees and next to a Redwood grove, you can enjoy the outdoors from the deck. In the summer, it is cool and in the winter you might get to hear the creek running below.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend, you will usually need to make your reservation request about 9-11 months in advance. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out, We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, an Electric Water Kettle, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $155. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $310. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $41 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $42. So for the weekend, it will be a total of about $428. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well. We have 11 people living here in a rather loose community.
  • Although it was raining during our entire stay at the Mushroom Dome, the rain did not dampen our sprits that much because of Kitty. She braved the rain to welcome us and provided an interesting introduction about the history of Mushroom Dome. And we were luckily to catch the humming birds in action. We are touched by her warmth and energy in making us feeling at home. Only if we had more time, then we could have mediation session together with her. Thanks to Kitty’s advice, we took the Highway 1 and enjoyed the scenic route back to the airport. The cabin is clean and well equipped. Jo said she love, love, love the Mushroom Dome. We certainly hope to return for another visit in future.

  • Astonishingly perfect: peaceful, beautiful, homey, welcoming. The goats are extremely charming (as are the people). We feel fortunate to have been able to stay there and wish we could have stayed longer.

    Laurel2010-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the PERFECT dome away from home. It is so cozy and secluded. I loved seeing the beautiful redwood and madrone trees right off the little wrap around deck. Kitty and Michael's property is amazing, and in such a great location. You are still close to everything in town, yet so far away once in the comfort of the cabin. I would definitely recommend the mushroom cabin to anyone who is not claustrophobic!

    Maria2010-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely romantic time in your unique redwood mountain retreat. The goat's milk was the best milk Joe has ever had. I really appreciate the hot water ;) Too bad it rained so much, we couldn't go exploring the magical redwood forest you have back there. It was a great place to unwind, read, play games, snuggle, and watch your great selection of movies. Thanks for taking the time to show us the hummingbirds too.

    Thoi2010-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Mushroom Dome Cabin was beyond relaxing--even if we brought the rain with us! We were warm and comfortable in the cabin, and the sound of the rain was peaceful and soothing. We had just gotten engaged the day before, and it was a special experience getting the chance to stay in a house away from the chaos of the city. Kitty and Michael were wonderful hosts, and we felt right at home. There's so much to see just even outside the cabin door--from the forest and the stream, to the hummingbirds that call Kitty and Michael's property home. We can't wait to go back!

    J. Ana2010-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Such a special experience staying in the little dome cabin with the skylight allowing you to look up to the trees and sky. We needed a calming get-a-way and this was the perfect place to be. Very comfortable.

    Conni2012-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place and setting! Kitty is awesome. Its a little confusing in the beginning, but once youre there, you dont want to leave. The history of the house, and Kitty's tories are just enchanting. And if you have a thing for interesting geometry (like me), you'll find it sweeter. Make sure to stay for more than a day!

    Ando2012-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time in the cabin. We were looking for a place not too far from the city but enough to get away from it all. This place was perfect, quiet, peaceful... we slept better than we had in the last couple of months! Kitty and Michael were great hosts. We will definitely be back!!!

Enjoy peace, quiet, and beautiful views in Cazadero. For each rental, $50 will be donated to Raphael House, a San Francisco organization whose goal is to help at-risk families achieve stable housing and financial independence.
This little a-frame cabin would make a productive retreat for an artist, writer, or musician, or a romantic getaway. Surrounded by redwoods on a private road in Cazadero, my cabin is an hour and forty-five minutes north of San Francisco: a roughly ten-minute drive to the beautiful Sonoma Coast, and just fifteen minutes to Guerneville and wine country in the other direction. Head west and you’ll hit the charming town of Duncans Mills; go east to Monte Rio, and catch a movie at the historic Rio Theater. The full bed sleeps one or two comfortably. No TV or microwave; yes record player, wood-burning stove, equipped kitchen, and lots of cookbooks. The backyard is sunny and sloping with a view. There’s a table and bench on the deck for al fresco dining. And there’s speedy wireless Internet, too.
  • We had the best time here! It was quiet and peaceful, but still close enough for site seeing. The cabin is about thirty minutes from several wineries in the area. After a couple of long days of driving, this was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The kitchen was fully stocked and clean. We enjoyed listening to records and playing chess. I'd definitely recommend!

  • Super cute cabin with a fun record collection and an impressive cookbook collection. Close to great trails and beaches and not much else -- just what I was looking for. Highly recommended!

  • Staying in Rachel's cabin was a terrific experience. My girlfriend and I spent a couple of nights there in July and had a wonderful time. Everything about the cabin was great--from the kitchen, to the deck, the view, the location, the bathroom, to the loft bed. It was clean, very nicely decorated, and we felt totally at home, and even wished we could stay longer. If you are interested in exploring the Russian River, the coast, wine country, or all the other great things sonoma county has to offer, this is a lovely place to stay. Also, Rachel provided us with all kinds of useful information prior to our arrival at the cabin, which helped us get acquainted with the area and plan our days there.

  • Rachel is very accommodating and kind. She made sure my boyfriend and I had everything we needed to make our stay feel comfortable and relaxing. She gives you all the information you need to make your stay enjoyable and smooth. Highly recommend this adorable cabin! The surrounding towns are filled with cute shops, bars and for what we could see delicious restaurants. We spent a day driving up the coast to Jenner and hiked a long the water and spent another day in Bodega Bay. Everything surrounding the area is breathtaking. The cabin was quiet and extremely clean. We cooked in each night and played tunes on the record player while sitting next to the fire. Overall, an amazing and relaxing experience for us. Anyone looking to spend a romantic getaway or just to escape real life, I highly recommend booking this cabin! We will definitely be booking it again.

  • A perfect little cabin-with-record-player in the redwoods.

    David2015-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is a consummate host. From efficient communication to detailed directions to excellent recommendations, we were blown away by her hospitality. She thought of everything! The house is one of a kind. A little piece of heaven in the middle of beautiful Redwoods. We cooked in the kitchen, played a few records and so thoroughly enjoyed our little retreat into nature. Would HIGHLY recommend Rachel and her amazing home.

    Chris2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's cabin was incredible! We arrived to find a very clean beautifully decorated, magical cabin. Her directions were clear and very helpful. She made herself available for any questions or concerns. It is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful area- so much to do, It is only a short drive to wineries or the beach or the river, though I wish I had a few days just to read Rachel's incredible cook book collection while listening to records. We will definitely return!

    Eliana2014-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perched atop a hill on a quiet street in the middle of nature with a beautiful view, yet it's really easy to get to. It's a quick drive to Armstrong Woods and to some of the most beautiful coastline in the state. The cabin is cozy as advertised but not cramped. With a fire in the stove and some vinyl on the turntable, it was incredible warm all around. There's everything you need to cook and a great patio to dine on. All around, it was everything as advertised and more.

The Off-grid itHouse brings together raw industrial aesthetics with the tactics of green design to forge a new home in the sunbaked wilds of the California high desert.
The Off-grid itHouse is an architecturally significant house, recently noted by Dwell as one of the 'Best Homes in America' and in the Los Angeles Times as one of the best houses of all time in Southern California. The Off-grid itHouse is one of 10 IT Houses built in California, which have received much acclaim such as the Western Home award sponsored by Sunset magazine. Also noted as one of the top 10 airbnb rentals worldwide. This is the prototype for the pre-engineered system known as the IT House. The house is 100% off-grid, powered by solar panels for energy and hot water, and is located in a pristine remote valley in the beautiful California high desert. The house observes key green principals of smaller footprint, minimal disturbance to the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally. The setting of the house is remote and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions. Amazing views and vistas in all directions. Perfect for design or green aficionados, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway.
Located in Pioneertown, CA, nearby several unique attractions, Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy and Harriets Pioneertown Palace, local museums and art venues such as the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, the Integratron, and other seasonal events.
  • The location was amazing, a very nice getaway spot. The amenities in the house are really nice, but there was no WiFi when due to some maintenance, so there’s no network of any kind around the house. It’s better to bring a downloaded gps map.

    Jingjie2018-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The off-grid itHouse is an amazing place and it is an extraordinary experience to stay there. It is very remote in the middle of the desert with the most amazing view you can imagine. Definitely one of the greatest experiences you can have even if it's a little hot there in summer. And Linda is a very friendly and helpful host. Just perfect - especially if you want to come down a little and relax off-grid.

    Marc2012-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Off-grid itHouse is an amazing place, my gratest gratitude to Linda by creating and sharing it trough Airbnb!

    David2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The property is amazing. We used it for a commercial photoshoot and every backdrop was stunning, indoor and out. Keep in mind that the house is VERY remote. Wi-Fi was recently added, but other than that you're entirely out of contact, and it's easily half an hour to the nearest town. If you're looking to get away, though, this place is highly recommended.

    Angus2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • very good stay

    Ying2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Off The Grid House is a magical place, it is a stay meant to allow you the simple luxuries of relaxation and connection to the environment that surrounds you - "be one with nature". Linda has created a home that allows you to experience this. I hiked near the home and climbed the surrounding boulders, the weather was perfect! The home is run off of solar panels and doesn't store much energy, you will likely not have power after the sun sets and or until after 8:30am, this includes running water. I think that is part of the beauty of the experience, so I didn't mind. However, if you have health needs that require electricity or telephone service you should consider that before booking. I 100% recommend the visit.

    Raeann2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at the itHouse — the house had some upgraded solar panels which helped keep the home powered and warm longer than previously. The surrounding landscape is mesmerizing, especially as you wake up or wind down with the sunrise/sunset. The fireplace provided a cozy warmth as you stared out into the dark night and countless stars. The ultimate getaway from the city.

    Richard2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time at the Off-grid itHouse and my first time staying there - it was a wonderful visit. The house is beautiful, well stocked, and has spectacular views. Occasionally somebody drives up the road, but other than that you have the feeling of being out in the middle of nowhere. Being in a glass house at night in the middle of nothing can get a little scary - but that makes it even more fun. Don't plan on doing anything but reading, writing, and watching the sun, moon, and stars. Not sure why you would want to do much else. Note: The dirt road is really bumpy and you don't need an SUV to get out there, but you will definitely be more comfortable if you have one.

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • I didn't get to meet Denise in person, but she was so helpful and communicative. I stayed at the cottage with my boyfriend and it was perfect. The winterizing of the cottage was also great. The outside temperature ranged between upper 30's to the 50's and the pellet stove always kept the inside warm throughout the day and night. The cottage is very clean, and all the beautiful and whimsical aspects of the cottage as described in the post were just as I imagined.

    Jeayoon2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was the best of both worlds! Roughing it in the lap of luxury. We were surrounded by nature in the comfort and bug-free silo waking to the sounds of the babbling brook and birds! It was the perfect welcome into retirement!

    Patty2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable, cozy stay on a few cold winter days; the tiny house was comfortable and charming and by far one of the most unique places I have ever stayed.

    Maureen2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place and incredible host. We loved staying there. Wish to go there again with family. Thank you Denise for having us.

    Jannatul2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The silo cottage was perfect for our 3 year anniversary getaway. The accommodations were comfortable and the house was well thought out for the size. It did not feel small at all and the oversized windows in the bedroom were our favorite feature. Denise was nice enough to leave a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for us.

    Jessica2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic - Denise and Dennis were wonderful hosts and the Silo/grounds were right out of a fairy tale. It's clear that they've put their hearts and souls into maintaining the historical treasure. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the estate and felt completely at home in the silo studio. Falling asleep with a babbling brook outside your window and waking only to the sounds of birds and nature was amazing.

    Meg2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The silo studio was magical and the area is right out of a storybook. Denise is super helpful and knowledgeable and easy to get ahold of when needed. I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic getaway.

    Shawn2017-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful and cozy cottage, just like it appeared in the pictures. The grounds surrounding the cottage are splendid and the pond in the back adds to the serene atmosphere. Denise did a wonderful job of making sure all amenities were in place inside the cottage and showed us how to operate the pellet stove. For anyone concerned about cold weather during a visit, let me assure you that the pellet stove and bed heating pads are plenty warm! The surrounding Berkshires are also very nice for leisurely activities, which also aren't too strenuous. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the sunset on the top of Mount Greylock which was a short drive away. I highly recommend the Silo Studio Cottage!

Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a bonfire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Extra guests can sleep on the air mattress or camp on the site for an additional $30/person per night. This absolutely must be arranged with us ahead of time so that it can be reflected in the Airbnb reservation and bill. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to "protect[ing] the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values."
  • My Fiancee and I had an absolutely incredible stay at Stephanie and Jay's cabin. It was the perfect mixture of exclusion and closeness to neighbors. We loved our view of the dessert and the incredible outdoor shower! All was as described and even more dreamy.

    Joelle2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing trip and very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful and amazingly quiet and peaceful. Jay was attentive to our needs and was a great host.

    Joe2012-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Jay and Stephanie's cabin before and once again it was absolutely perfect. Best location ever, very peaceful and a great hammock!!! Xx

    Sophie2013-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Two nights at Stephanie & Jay's cabin was like one continuous dreamy day. The furniture in the cabin felt well placed and thoughtful, while the colors- white, blue, grey- seemed to flow through the many windows into the color palette of the desert. The room is kept cool with a swamp cooler, which seemed to balance the dry desert climate. We slept with blankets in perfect cool. The outside shower was incredible at night, enclosed with an open roof and a billion stars. Also has hot water. The outhouse too was cleaner than most indoor bathrooms...appropriate for even the most city guests. Sleeping in the comfortable bed with sweeping views of mountains was a wondrous display of distant lightning storms, the late arrival of the moon, and constellations. Getting to Joshua Tree National Park was easy, took about 20 min. Everything was just lovely- conversation with Jay, the quiet of nature, lizards and long eared rabbits and do e nests. I left with a newfound respect for fence- less living, and for using everything for something else- nothing went to waste. I'll never forget this sweet experience. Thanks, Stephanie & Jay!

    Susannah2014-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • we were 3 for 2 nights. Jay was very welcoming and showed us around. I enjoyed the morning sunrise and evening sunsets the best. sitting on the pretty porch enjoying the beautiful calm desert. we loved the location far but close to all restaurants, shops and national park. I liked the simple decor. many windows give a great light inside. there is everything you need. i was not crazy about walking to the toilet at night but beside that it was a wonderful experience (off the grid). thank you to Jay and Stephanie for making an inspiring place available :)

    Sonia & Chris2014-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! Gazing at the stars in the middle of the desert (and w/ spectacular wifi) is something I will never be able to forget. Thank you for this amazing experience - it made the trip - my best recc for the entire Joshua Tree area.

    Giulia2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the cabin. A simple place with nice attention to details. We most enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning sun and watching the desert wildlife. Jackrabbit, quail, cactus wren, antelope ground squirrels among others. Definitely feels isolated, but surprisingly just a few minutes from town if needed.

    Sean2013-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jay promptly arrived once we reached the cabin and thoroughly explained how everything worked and what we'd encounter in our stay. He was a great communicative host. The cabin is pictured as you see it here and experiencing the desert landscape right at your door, complete with serene silence, was a calming, yet enthralling experience. I live in the desert as well but it's such an irony that I had to travel 3 hours to truly see and live in it. "Jackrabbit Homestead" is a great read for your stay that describes the history of this restored cabin and other abandoned homes you may see along your trip here.

Be surrounded by nature and yet have all the comforts of home. Be our guest in this cozy log cabin surrounded by tall pines and mountains, and yet still a short drive to Lake Tahoe and the casinos.
Cozy cabin nestled in South Lake Tahoe perfect for the relaxing or adventure filled getaway. This rustic charmer has evolved over the last 10 years to bring you and your family a warm and comfortable stay. At 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the Lake Tahoe Chalet is perfect for families of up to 8 people. We do consider the family dog on a case-by-case basis, please ask, and the backyard is fully fenced.
The Lake Tahoe Chalet is about six miles from Stateline and the Lake, or a short 10 minute drive. It's located in a quiet neighborhood with no one across the street, with views of mountains and tall trees. There's a large meadow and the Truckee River just a short walk away. The cabin is located in a quiet family neighborhood so PLEASE respect our neighbors' peace and quiet and keep the noise down after 10PM. Also, no parties or groups exceeding 8 are allowed and may even result in immediate eviction and/or loss of deposit.
  • Directions to the house were accurate and access to the house easy with the combination lock. The house is located in a residential neighborhood but has many beautiful pine trees and country feel to the area. It is very nicely decorated with lots of woodsy touches which add to the cabin atmosphere. Beds and couch were comfortable, plenty of towels, china, utensils, etc. Did not use washer or dryer. BBQ worked well. As did WiFi. Location is a about 15 minutes to Stateline.

  • Awesome place to stay , esp when traveling with family and kids. They have a pretty sweet stack of books, games and movies.

  • Everything was ok and our hosts always in touch for our questions

    Jose2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, but I thought pictures make it seem a little bigger than it is – don't expect to fit more than eight people in the main room comfortably. We had no problems at all with our stay itself. The cabin was cleaned and in good condition when we got there. There's a ton of cast iron cookware to cover all of your sautéing and frying needs. You may have to purchase/bring some kitchen staples (e.g. aluminium foil and flour) but I don't necessarily expect to have Airbnbs stock that for their guests. We had no problems using the grill even in the cold. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We didn't meet Ryan in the flesh, but he provided the entrance code and was very responsive even though he was away traveling. There're grocery stores and liquor shops fewer than ten minutes away by car. Heavenly is ten minutes away and Kirkwood is forty-five. T-Mobile reception was a bit spotty, but Verizon worked great. The WiFi also worked without a hitch.

    Jason2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, our stay at Ryan & Darnie's Lake Tahoe Chalet was fantastic. The cabin was exactly what our group was looking for in a winter getaway. The cabin was cozy, stocked with firewood, and they provided space heaters for the bedrooms.

    Casey2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • I'll start with the positive...the location is great, my kids went sledding right across the street and had great snowball fights. The log cabin look is appealing and the dining room table is super cool. However, the pictures make the house look much bigger and newer than it is. The doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms are cheap particle board that are bending and breaking. The bedrooms are tiny, the master bath is even tinier. We contacted the owners immediately about the uncleanliness of the house and they responded immediately. They were willing to have the housekeeper come back and clean again for us. We declined because we had all of our stuff unpacked and snow gear out. So I would say the communication is awesome. This place just wasn't for us. Next time I'll spend more for a house more upscale.

    Michelle2017-03-24T00:00:00Z

Since we are on the hillside, there are no amenities or shops at a short walking distance, but there are several restaurants, stores and many local spots just a short drive from the house. • All the glowing reviews are accurate: a beautifully decorated and pridefully maintained property, spectacular view, great location, safe neighborhood and above all, Dennis and Alex were congenial and caring hosts who were always there to help while respecting my privacy. In addition, what I particularly loved about the pool house was its own large, private patio just outside the bedroom where I could relax, read, enjoy a cocktail and cook out; it even had beautiful night lighting. And the landscaping throughout the compound was amazing. This is a 5-star Airbnb in every way. I can't wait to come back!

  • DnA were great hosts - very welcoming and thoughtful. They thought of everything and just left us to it! But they were easy to contact if we needed them. The pool house is a fantastic base to explore LA as we did or even if you just want somewhere to chill for a few days. The pool and views are stunning! We will definitely be back!

    Jessica2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay with DnA. The hosts greeted us warmly on our return, and were easily available for concerns or questions while giving us the privacy we wanted to come and go as we pleased. This is a wonderful little unit that is separate from the main home. It is very convenient to Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Los Feliz, the 134/101 corridor and downtown LA. We will definitely be back on future visits.

  • Everything about this place was absolutely perfect! They provide you with everything in the house you would EVER need. Check-in was easy and all directions were clearly written including the gate code, spa temperature control, etc. It felt so relaxing and private and the view was to die for. I would and will highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an amazing place to spend a vacation. Dan and Alex made sure we had everything we need and were more than accommodating. Thank you!

    Daniel2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Can't beat the views from this beautiful property! We had everything we needed in our little private pool house. We enjoyed discovering the nearby lively neighbourhoods of Northeast LA. Good location to leave the city as well for day trips. We did not get to meet the owners but communication was very good throughout. Thanks DNA hope to stay with you again some day.

  • The private pool house was an amazing place to stay! The pool house has everything you need, amazing views and a pool & jacuzzi to relax after a day in L.A. Dennis and Alex were very friendly and helpful. Hope to come back some day!

  • Great time staying with Brenda, was pleasure to meet her, and she left me some tips for getting around the neighbourhood, and I felt I had my own space and time in the apartment. Worked out great.

  • Brenda was a great hostess, really helpful with directions and good restaurants. Her place is gorgeous, the kitchen is a great spot to rest after a long walk in SF. The neighborhood is vibrant and full of good restaurants. I recommend staying in her home !

  • My stay at the cosy room on Castro was super! Brenda was so so sweet, very friendly and made me feel so welcome and at home from the moment I arrived. The room has such a warm and great energy to it, I highly recommend staying with Brenda. Brenda and her lovely housemate jonothan, even asked me to join them for dinner one nigh, very kind! I would definitely stay again next time I am in town.

  • This was one of the best weekends we have ever had. Gayle's pond house was truly unique and beautiful. The photos were accurate but just don't capture how special this space is. The views all around you are amazing with the pond, grassy hills, lush forest and wildlife all around. The bed was so comfortable as well as the rest of the furniture in the pond house. There are plenty of candles that make for an incredible ambience when the sun goes down. Gayle was a very good host. She was super friendly and helpful with anything that we may have needed. She has fantastic taste in decorating as well as her recommendations for local eats, drinks and activities like hiking and swimming. Also Charlie the dog was a welcome addition to the experience, gracing us with his energy, affection and playfulness when he decided to come check on us. The fire pit was also excellent for grilling in the evening with plenty of dry wood, kindling and paper supplied. The shower and bathroom located up the hill in the studio was convenient and included lots of amenities you may need. Gayle was also available and accommodating in the event that we needed anything specific. Overall this is an incredible space for outdoor sleeping with the comforts of a posh bedroom. The bedding was able to keep us toasty warm even on cool nights. The screens kept bugs away, the view was gorgeous and the energy was very relaxing. We recommend this to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and/or is a beginner camper. If you are experienced campers, it's all the best parts of camping without some of the tougher parts.

  • Words can't express the beauty of staying in the Pond House . Fall foliage surrounded us, the barred owl called to us in the evening and the red fox greeted us in the morning. We whole heatedly recommend staying here.

  • We had a wonderful time at Gayle and Peter's pond house. It is such a beautiful place, even more beautiful than in the pictures. Exactly what we wanted from a weekend away from the city hustle, so calm and relaxing. We would come back any time.

  • This was out second time staying at the pond (Website hidden by Airbnb) was wonderful, as it was last fall. We love the quiet during the daytime, and the crickets and frogs at night. Our second night a gigantic thunderstorm blew through...very exciting, and we were completely dry. Gayle and Peter are warm and welcoming as is Charlie the dog. Gayle shared some local blueberries which we scarfed up immediately. Ashfield is a lovely place...we had dinner and breakfasts at Elmer's and one dinner in Shelburne Falls at Hearty Eats. All great. THANK YOU.

    gena2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic experience at the Pondhouse. Gayle was lovely and gave us a quick tour before leaving us to enjoy the Pondhouse which really is magical. It rained our whole first day but we still had a great time. We would definitely com back again.

    Megan2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from our stay at Gayle's Country Escape Pondhouse. The chirping birds, sparkling fireflies, and rustling grasses, daisies, and ferns, with the pond at our toes, was all we hoped for and more. The feel of soft cool air as we slept, relaxed, and woke, is still fresh in our minds. If you are lucky enough to wake in the middle of the night you will see stars as they are meant to be seen. Isolated yet convenient, this spot offers complete privacy with Gayle within easy helpful distance should you need her.

  • What a treat!! I don't use AirBNB often but am so glad I did. I definitely want to come back. The space was even more beautiful and serene than pictured and my companion and I slept like angels. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Our arrival time was delayed due to copious traffic (night construction in two places along Route 91) and Gayle was really accommodating and kind about it. She and her husband were welcoming but non-intrusive. All around it was an amazing stay!

    Katlyn2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Pond house is all that it's cracked up to be and more-- it is so so lovely, as other people have said, it's even more beautiful than the photos. the beds are so comfy and cozy and the views from every seat in the house are spectacular. Gayle and Peter and Charlie are wonderful hosts-- invisible except when you want them and then magically they are right there. The recommendations for meals were perfect and Gail even got us a spot at the super wonderful Elmers for breakfast on father's day! We sat and watched the birds come and go from the pond as the light faded -- truly a wonderful escape but plenty of shopping and fun nearby. Thanks so much Gayle and Peter and Charlie for the care and love that has gone into the pond house.

Welcome aboard Pirate's Life, 1 of 5 rentals in our fleet! Most questions can be answered in our FAQ found below. To view all available boat rentals click on my profile & scroll to the bottom below reviews to see all boats. Featured on Tiny House Hunters, but far from tiny. Pirate's Life was gutted & rebuilt using reclaimed materials, sweat, & love. You'll find her spacious, tranquil, & comfortable. Enjoy morning coffee & evening cocktails on the deck overlooking Downtown Charleston’s harbor.
Featured on FYI Network's Tiny House Hunters! Very spacious houseboat with vaulted 12' ceiling in the main cabin (living room). Sleeps 3 comfortably. Lots of room to move around with a queen size bed in the Captain's Quarters (Bedroom) and a twin bed in the living room that's a day bed. FAQ: Q: Location? A: Mid-Peninsula Downtown Charleston which is roughly 1.5 - 2 miles to the heart of the historic district. A five minute / $6 Uber away or take the bikes! The boats are located downtown in a private marina where our 5-6 boats are slipped & only shared with a large mega-yacht that rents the outside slippage 6 months out of the year. We rent this slippage from Seabreeze Dry Stack Marina (49 Immigration Street, 29403). This accommodation is for people looking for peace and tranquility as the setting of the marina is quiet and secluded. You'll have a stunning view of Charleston Harbor and the Ravenel Bridge. Q: How can I see all of your boats for rent? A: Click on our Airbnb profile (the round photo) & scroll all the way to the bottom below the aggregated reviews (on Mobile) or look to the left (on Desktop). You’ll see all of our listings - or check them out by clicking the link below: Listing Page: https://www.airbnb.com/users/1918595/listings Q: 1 Night Reservations? A: You can instant book a 1 night rental if it’s the same day as your reservation OR if you see on our calendar that your date fills a 1 night gap. We kindly ask do not instant book for 1 night reservations if your desired date doesn’t fit that criteria - especially on the weekend. We handle 1 night reservations on a case-by-case basis depending on availability but can almost always make it work. We will respond to an inquiry within minutes most times, most of the time immediately. Q: Is it comfortable? A: VERY! Our boats are designed with live-aboard / stay-aboard in mind with all the creature comforts of home. Fully stocked kitchens, premium furnishings, updated HVAC, TV, Keurig coffee makers… etc. Q: Any restaurants close by? A: TONS! Some of Charleston’s best are within a mile of the marina. Q: How to book: A: If you don’t have any questions after reading over the FAQ below then simple instant book. If you send an inquiry we’ll respond promptly, if not immediately. Q: Why is the price so different for my dates? A: Airbnb automatically sets our prices based on demand & seasonality. If you don’t search with exact dates Airbnb shows the lowest price throughout the season. Prices range from $99 per night for weekday day-of bookings in January all the way to $499 per night for weekends during peak season summer and everywhere in-between. Q: Bathroom… explain! A: The boat is equipped with an apartment sized (12 gallon) water heater ensuring you get hot water throughout the boat. You'll always have enough hot water to enjoy a 10 - 15 minute shower. The boat has a full sized marine toilet that is easy to use as long as you follow our simple instructions. Q: Heat? Air Conditioning? A: Our boats are equipped with BOTH ample Heat & Air Conditioning. No matter the time of year you can be assured that you will be staying in a climate controlled & comfortable environment. Q: Can we take the boats out & drive them? A: No. We don’t carry any insurance for bareboat charters but we do offer captained Charters on specific boats which are really fun! Charters include sightseeing in Downtown harbor, sunset cruises, full hay & ½ day cruises, special moments like engagements, or anything else you can think of. All charter requests are handled via inquiry & paid through Airbnb as part of your stay. Q: Can I check-in earlier than 4 or Checkout later than 10? A: We will do our best. Most days there’s someone checking in the same day there’s a checkout but we try & go above and beyond if this is requested. Q: Can we fish from the dock or boats? A: Absolutely! We ask that you fish either from the side or front of the vessel & stay clear of the props so your line doesn’t get prop/shaft wrapped. Fishing from the dock is also allowed as long as you mind the props of the vessels. You can easily get a fishing license from the DNR online. We operate on the honor system & don’t check for licenses but ask that you support the local DNR & pay the small fee to make it legal. We don’t supply fishing equipment & keep in mind there are no tackle shops in Downtown Charleston. Shrimp from the local Q: What to expect that's different than a hotel? A: It's a boat, it is a unique FUN experience. There may be noises and smells that you'd expect from a boat. Pumps, motors, ocean water, etc. Every boat is broken the day it hits the water, especially salt water. We take great care of our fleet but we expect guests to tell us if anything isn’t working properly & we will PROMPTLY respond & repair. Q: Waves? A: The marina has a sea wall which dilutes any waves. We are also lucky enough to be tucked behind Drum Island at the base of the Ravenel Bridge. which dilutes almost all the waves from the harbor. There is still a small amount of wave action and you'll feel a slight rock from time-to-time, mostly from boats passing by who don’t respect the no wake zone (feel free to yell at them & shake your first while doing so). If there's a bad storm or the wave action gets to a point that your stay is no longer enjoyable, we will do our best (no guarantees) to work out alternative accommodations for you as we have multiple condos Downtown for landlubbers. Your comfort is our top priority. 99% of the time the marina is almost totally flat and calm. We also keep dramamine on the dock incase anyone experiences sea sickness. Q: Will you reduce your price? A: No(ISH)... Maybe, but unlikely. Don’t expect a price reduction unless it’s the slow season & you’re messaging about days within 1-4 days of check-in or you’re looking for a long-term stay in the off season (see next “Q”). If you message us with a booking that somewhat fits the criteria above & tell us a budget we can try & work with you on one of our 6 boats. “Will you reduce the price of a weekend booking a month away” will always be a “no”. Q: Do you do long-term or monthly rentals? A: We have done long term rentals in the past. From March 1 - October 30 the boats are rented at a 90% occupancy rate so the monthly rate is only slightly reduced compared to the daily rate (around 20%). From November through February we’re much more flexible depending on length of stay & which vessel you’re interested in. It helps us to know your budget and we can tell you if we have anything that could work. Q: Smoking? A: On the outside only & please be responsible. Kindly don’t light the boat on fire. Q: Do you allow pets? A: You bet! We ask that dogs not be puppies, don’t scratch at doors, and don’t bark incessantly while you’re away. The boats are close together & a non-stop barking dog isn’t appreciated. We DEEP clean the boats after pets stay aboard due to future guests’ possible allergies so a $75 pet fee is applied for those who travel with pets. If you have a service dog & try to circumvent the pet fee be prepared to present FULL documentation. Q: Can we hold events or parties? A: No. This is a place to relax. We ask that there be no events or parties on the boats so the other guests can enjoy their stay. Q: You charge extra for more than 2 adults, do my kids count? A: Any child over the age of 13 is considered an adult & needs to be represented in the booking inquiry as an additional guest. Q: Is the marina safe? A: VERY. We have 24/7 surveillance & in the 3 years we’ve been here we’ve never had any sort of issue. We share an entrance with the port authority which has a 24/7 guarded gate. You turn into the marina before the guarded gate but it scares off any would-be pests. The parking lot & dock is well lit & the marina is right off East Bay which is one of the main roads in Downtown Charleston. All boats lock from inside & you can padlock the door when you leave if you wish to lock up your belongings. The marina is only us & we’re here daily looking over the fleet. Q: Handicap accessible? A: No. You'll need to get on the boat which requires a 1-2' step and there are steps on the boat. The deck stairs are steep and you'll need to be sure footed. Q: Parking? A: Yes, you can park your car. Since it’s a small private marina the walk to the parking lot from the boat is only roughly 50-70 yards. Q: Can I trailer my small boat & side-tie it to the boat I rented? A: You can bring your boat but it must be arranged with the marina & there’s nowhere to park a trailer. There’s also nowhere close by to slip the boat so do your research on boat landings. The marina will charge you small fee (roughly $40 - $60 nightly) to wet-slip the boat. Q: Space & Comfort? A: You'll find the layout of the boat extremely spacious and comfortable. The bed is a Queen (ish) size. Queen with slight modifications to fit the space. The shower is tall and comfortable for anyone 6’4” & under. Q: I have a non-profit, will you donate a free stay to my gala? A: I’m sure your cause is worthy, but we get this request far too often so we must decline. Q: I’m a blogger / photographer / ninja trainer… will you barter? A: No. Please don’t ask. We don’t pay our slip rent with your blog posts. Q: Will you partner with my local company or buy my advertising? A: We get penalized through Airbnb if we don’t respond to all inquiries which means we must respond to your spam. You won’t like our message so don’t send it. Q: Will this be the best vacation I’ve ever had and should I book now? A: Without a doubt.
Extremely safe and private marina in downtown Charleston. The entrance to the marina is shared with the Port Authority which has a 24/7 guard. There is a train which blocks the road to the marina leading into the port authority but it only comes 1-2X per day. Sometimes it can block the roadway for up to 20 minutes but that is infrequent.
  • Pirates life is a killer experience. Everything exceeded our expectations, Justin was a great host and readily available if we needed anything and we cannot wait to stay again. Highly recommended for a couples getaway. Sunsets and sunrises were amazing from the deck.

    Mathew2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic location. Our first time doing the Air BnB TGIF, but it definitely will not be our last! It was the perfect setting for our 1 year anniversary. We literally couldn’t have asked for a better location/venue. Justin and his team are great and we look forward to staying at their locations in the future!

    Timothy2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and time aboard the boat. We would definitely do it again. Justin was an extremely friendly and responsive host. The marina was quiet and private with lots to look at from the bridge to wildlife, especially waterfowl. Having our rental car and the marina location made it easy to get around and take day trips to Folly Beach and Isle of Palms and Patriots Point, and we used the bicycles one evening for a ride across the bridge. While we had plenty of dine-out plans, having the grill to cook two dinners and eating breakfast on board was wonderful and easily accomplished, plus the setting of the marina made eating outside a pleasant and romantic experience. One helpful tip is there is a train whose tracks you have to cross to leave the marina. Not a noise issue, but we were delayed one evening to a dinner reservation. It was around 6pm-7pm and seemed to happen somewhat regularly, just be careful when you are leaving or making reservations. Not sure if there is a place you can find their schedule or if Justin could provide insight on their timing.

  • Fun unique place to stay when you are visiting Charleston. The location of the marina makes you feel like you are in own private little bay. The houseboat is very well appointed and surprisingly spacious. We will definitly be back!

    Serin2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Not necessarily something I'd do again. (Mostly due to price; and the maritime toilet, but the listing description and welcome email warn you of the finer points on that.) But a fun and memorable experience. The dock is just a quick Lyft ride from town! Just note that a train sometimes comes through (perhaps between 3 and 6pm) that blocks the road to the dock for a little while.

    Neil2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The houseboat is every bit as adorable as it seems in the pictures. I was looking for a unique getaway for my two teenagers and myself, and this was definitely it! We had so much fun! Tip: don't run the hairdryer and the AC at the same time. :) We caused a breaker to trip, but when we reported it to the property manager, she had it handled very quickly. We would definitely stay on the boat again. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to rent such a fun place!

    Carla2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had reservations for the boat the first week in June for 2 nights. The boat is a cute idea and is as described in the listing. However, the air conditioner that is in the boat was undersized for the space and even after keeping all of the windows closed for several hours while the air was running, it was still close to 80 degrees on the boat. Opening all of the windows provided a nice breeze, however, since most of the windows do not have screens, we couldn't keep the bugs out and were getting bitten. As a result, we wound up getting a last minute hotel room at the Marina hotel and a room in the city for the second night. We let the hosts know and that we checked out early, but haven't heard back.

    Mark2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This houseboat is a treat! Beautiful, comfortable, imaginative, everything you could need, clean and neat, appealing, charming ... we were totally delighted. John commented over and over this was his best birthday treat ever. Peaceful area, wonderful view of the water; we even saw fireworks off the deck of the Yorktown anchored across the harbor. If we could have taken this place home with us, we would have.

Floating above the coast, the property has views of the canyon and the ocean beyond with limitless lookouts for sunrise, sunset, moon rise and star-gazing. Surrounded by our Meyer lemon and avocado orchard, the yurt is adjacent to our organic vegetable gardens and free-range chicken coop but does not have it's own private ocean-view. No loud music. No parties or non-paying guests unless cleared by the management. Smoking allowed outside only, on decks or patio - use ashtrays only. This is a highly flammable wildlife area. We also want to advise guests that this is a working orchard and vegetable garden. People uncomfortable with domestic animals (dogs, chickens, rooster) or scared by the sounds of wild animals (coyotes, owls, song birds) may prefer an urban location. Also, those who are very light sleepers should consider using earplugs if the possibilty of sounds of coyotes, owls, rooster or dogs keep them awake. While we strive to avoid working around the Yurt during early morning or late afternoon when guests like to relax, we will be tending the gardens, etc. during the day which many guests find fascinating. Whether you wish to retreat to Nature or explore the surroundings, you have a wide choice of activities. Our canyons and beaches boast world-class mountain biking, hiking, horse-riding, wine-tasting, surfing and sunbathing. Nearby are local restaurants and hangouts while the towns of Westlake Village & Thousand Oaks are just 15 miles away to the north. There are hiking trails right out the yurt door which access Nicholas Canyon Park and lake as well as Leo Carillo State Park. Note that out-the-door hikes involve a steep climb, but those guests who prefer a stroll to a strenuous hike can drive up the hillside in 10 minutes to access a walk through 200 year oak groves so level it is officially wheel-chair accessible! We can help you arrange horseback lessons and trail rides locally, as well as rental of surfboards, wet suits, and mountain bikes. Yoga, dance, Pilates, acupuncture, massage, and gym usage can also be arranged. While secluded, we are easily accessible by major roads. A 3 minute drive down the canyon takes you to Pacific Coast Highway’s most pristine beaches in southern California. It’s just a few more miles to beautiful Malibu town and pier with all lots of shopping, dining and recreational opportunities. A 12 minute drive in the other direction takes you to the Ventura Freeway for easy access to Burbank. Downtown L.A., Disney land and beyond... Or heading north to Ventura, Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, and other sights on the way to San Francisco. ** Special Note ** We are a working agricultural operation that hosts guests through Airbnb. While neighbors are hardly visible here in our canyon, a great way to enjoy the architecture of the area is to stroll along the shore of Broad Beach where many Malibu celebrities live. Another great option is to cruise Mulholland Drive all the way to the ocean.
  • I had a wonderful experience in the Yurt! Bruce was extremely sweet and friendly and very accommodating to some of my stay changes. The property is beautiful, serene and unique. It truly felt like a home away from home.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Bibi's yurt. Bibi was very helpful with a number of suggestions in the local area for the evening we were staying with her. We were also lucky enough to be given some avocados from the farm to snack on, they were organically delicious! Even though there were 4 in our party the yurt was comfortable and cool. We were especially impressed with the quality bathroom, better than lots of hotels! We would recommend it to anyone!

    Steve2013-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted by Bruce who gave us brilliant advice on where to eat out and helped us plan our 'beach day' before travelling north up the coast. The yurt is in a beautiful setting, with a spectacular drive to it up the canyon. The yurt is well equipped, but we felt the bathroom could have been cleaner.

  • Just stayed at the Yurt over the weekend and it was a very nice and relaxing night. The experience was quite enjoyable, and I loved the sounds of nature surrounding us.

    Jonathan2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in the yurt. Having dinner on the canyon view deck is a MUST. Going for a dip in their pool after a long day exploring the sea side was a treat. The loft bed is super comfortable but a tight squeeze for two people! Hope to be back soon for brunch :)

    Zoe2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous yurt! Comfortable, interesting stop on our road trip up the coast of California. Having the hot tub would have been spectacular for the chilly evening, but we still had a great night here.

    Jess2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Bibi made us feel extremely welcome throughout our stay at her wonderful Yurt. The grounds are lovely and the pool was certainly a highlight. Our stay was memorable for all the right reasons.

    Claire2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • I am from Minnesota and was on my way up to san fran from LA, i stayed here with a friend and had an experience i will never forget. Everything in the picture was exactly as shown. The yurt is surprisingly spacious and has all of the amenities of home. In the morning We hiked up the hill a little ways with brett who worked on the farm. He showed us a beutiful vista of the ocean behind us. Very awesome. Bibi was also fantastic. Make sure you read her directions from the e mail because i spaced it and it really helps expedite the process of going over little things. She gave us some restaurant recommendations and we went to the duck dive bar nearby. Very good food. I would highly reccomend doing this. And be prepared for a little bit of mountain driving,(midwesterners) but dont fret, its well worth it.

  • The photos on the listing say it all – it really is that beautiful, like a Balinese hideaway … but with more surfboards. We loved the eclectic décor, the indoor/outdoor living and the feeling of protective privacy. There are houses nearby but the environment that Ron and Karen have created made us feel like we were in our own garden oasis. Some of our favorite times were just preparing meals in the outdoor kitchen, or having our morning coffee on the wide front porch watching the birds and geckoes and listening to the sound of the waves. The bay is just a couple of minutes walk away and entry to the snorkeling area was protected and easy. The cottage has every amenity including snorkeling gear. Ron and Karen were delightful hosts – thoughtful, warm, helpful and accessible, yet never intrusive. Highly recommended!

    Marilyn2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place and Karen and Ron were both lovely hosts. 1 block from the beach and great snorkeling we fell asleep to the waves and jungle sounds.

    Krista2015-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Karen's place. She and her husband were kind and welcoming hosts. We would definitely stay with them again.

    Christopher2014-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We spent the second half of our honeymoon here and we couldn't have picked a better place. The cottage is magical and Karen is a wonderful host. You are a 2 minute walk from some great snorkeling right there in Captain cook and an easy drive to Kona. There is so much to do on this island, we had to pace ourselves! We did have a fair bit of rain but the roof help up well despite all the downpours! My wife had a bit of trouble with mosquitos but the bed has a net so sleeping wasnt a problem. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something unique and private!

    Gordon2014-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very grateful to my girlfriend for finding such a gem of a place to stay. Grateful to Ron and Karen for warmly letting us into an extension of their home. The experience in Kealakekua Bay could not have been more beautiful and serene. The snorkeling and kayaking available just outside of their doorstep is one of my favourite memories (swimming with dolphins, the rich history of the Bay), the sunsets in the park breathtaking. Every panorama I was lucky enough to gaze upon was picturesque and profound. I will never forget the experiences I had on the island. Accommodations were perfect. The little villa was cozy, clean and provided ample privacy. Being able to hear the ocean sway throughout the night was a luxury. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking to experience a great stay in a beautiful place comfortably.

    Patrick2012-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Ron's Bali Cottage in Napo`opo`o on the Kona coast, just steps from Kelalakekua Bay, is a delight. Excellent sense of privacy with the cottage in its own tropical grove. You feel immersed in nature under the sheltering banyan, amid palms and other lush foliage, the afternoon breeze from the sea, and the sound of breaking waves at night. Had an extremely enjoyable stay. Ron and Karen are excellent hosts.

    John2014-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage is exactly as described. We loved it! If you like camping in paradise you will be delighted with the luxury of a comfortable bed, hot shower, fully equipped outdoor kitchen and comfortable chairs. The teak panels are fantastic. Great snorkeling is just steps away. It's a nature retreat unlike any other!

    Wayne2014-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say about paradise? We loved waking up to the birds and geckos chattering away. The gardens are beautiful, and the cottage is so interesting...you never run out of things to look at. The kitchen(although small) is well equipped, Karen and Ron have included all the details for a comfortable stay...beach chairs, snorkel gear, ideas for day trips...Karen and Ron are extremely attentive and very interesting! And yes, if you are a princess this might not be for you...we had some gorgeous spiders keep us company...we loved them, but others might not!

Romantic hideaway! This property has the lush beauty and privacy of Hana, without the drive! Only 15-20 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to beaches, 2 minutes to restaurants and shops...on a private gated property with organic nursery. BEAUTIFUL!
This place is a gem! SO CUTE! A recently remodeled 1930's cottage....that Jimi Hendrix stayed in when he was on Maui in 1970 to film Rainbow Bridge. Beautiful, quiet...REAL Maui! Recently remodeled, very cute! It is lined with cedar on the inside so it smells delightful when you walk in.... The Gingerbread House is a studio cottage with a kitchenette (toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, counter-top burners, full sized fridge) and spacious bathroom with a large custom-built, tiled shower.. It has high cathedral ceilings with a huge window that looks out on beautiful lush greenery. It is on a gated property. There is wireless Internet in the cottage, but in the event it isn't working, there is wireless available to you in other locations on the property. We have gotten the internet FIXED since the reviews were written so it is WORKING IN THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE AGAIN! (as of 1/16/17) It has a queen sized bed, and an outdoor patio under the spectacular tree canopy. The property is on 4.5 acres of lush beauty with a seasonal stream, an organic veggie start farm, fruit trees galore (help yourself when in season....) papaya, banana, lilikoi (passion fruit), coffee, plantains, oranges, mac nuts, avocado, lychee, mango, guava, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, coconuts, noni....and you also have access to an additional 4 acres on the adjacent property—which is home of The Sacred Garden—beautiful!. WE HAVE NOT INCLUDED the 14.41% Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax because you would have to pay the airbnb fee on that so to save you their fee WE WILL SEND YOU A SEPARATE INVOICE as a resolution request through Airbnb for the additional fee. (They do not add extra fees to the resolution requests.) PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS STATE LAW THAT WE ADD THE TAX...Sorry! We have a 3 night minimum however we will book for 1-2 nights if the nights are available between other bookings so feel free to check with us. We have a 5 night minimum during Holiday periods like Christmas. We are in an awesome location just 20 minutes from the airport and Costco, and only 2 miles to Makawao town restaurants and shops, 7 minutes to Paia, 5 minutes to Haiku town. 50 Minutes to Haleakala National Park entrance. We also have a house on the property that is a vacation rental as well so if you need more space for a larger gathering let me know! I offer retreat services—relationship coaching, personal and spiritual growth, guided labyrinth walks and work with Maui's best practitioners so if you want more than a vacation, let me know! We can help you with everything from Massage, to intuitive readings! I also perform weddings so if you are thinking of getting married while you are on Maui....I can also help you with that! This rental is on the property adjacent to The Sacred Garden which has two walking labyrinths, water lily ponds, meditation gardens, and more ...and is free and open to the public daily. We have caterers available in needed. The elevation is about 1000 feet which is PERFECT on Maui! We are about 10 degrees cooler than sea level which makes for absolutely comfortable days (70-80 degrees) and GREAT temps for sleeping (usually in the 60's). This is the MAXIMUM elevation you can stay and still go scuba diving on Maui. Speaking of diving...we are avid divers and can assist you booking Scuba Diving with the best dive operation on Maui. You will definitely want a rental car....there is a bus stop a mile or two away but not ideal....and bikes are a little hazardous as these are hilly, windy, narrow roads. We have a HUGE friendly dog on the property... he is great...but be forewarned he is BIG! (180 pounds)...not a barker, super sweet. We also have 4 cats on the property but no animals are inside the cottage. There are wild chickens and roosters and cows on the property across the stream. Please keep in mind that this is a jungle environment and it is nearly impossible to keep all insects out of any accommodation in Hawaii unless we poison the place. If you are phobic of insects, the jungle will not be your best bet. Gecko lizards are also common inside the houses here.
This area is a magical well kept secret on Maui. We are located at the dividing line between the wet side and the dry side, which means we get enough rain to stay green, and enough sun to stay sane! We get rainbows almost daily and are the perfect temperature (60's at night, 70's-80's in the day).
  • Leading up to our stay Eve communicated well via email to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is beautiful and tucked away in a secluded part of Maui and it was nice having a whole house to ourselves at the end of a busy day. Its set in a tropical garden so we felt part of our surroundings, especially at night when we'd leave the windows open so we could wake up to all the natural sounds outside. The house came fully equipped with kitchen facilities so we could cook our own meals plus a good sized bathroom area. The host also left instructions which were helpful. A couple of minor things we would've liked - one was wifi in the room. Even though this was a minor issue, there were times when it was raining and we'd have to walk out to the gazebo to use the internet. Also, during out 4 day stay, because Eve and her partner were on holiday we didn't meet with anyone the whole time we were there. Even though we arrived late at night, we thought someone would've dropped by to introduce themselves some time during our stay. This wasn't a huge deal though as our overall stay was fantastic. Loved the house and the location and would absolutely stay there again.

    Latasha2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our time at the gingerbread cottage! It was so warm and inviting and cozy. We also loved how private it felt. It was tucked away in a beautiful jungle surrounding with the most gorgeous foliage that took our breath away. Eve was so helpful and gave us directions to one of our favorite hikes we ever went on! It was well stocked with the essentials like bug spray, sunscreen, soaps, etc and it was so special to have our own little place in the jungles of Maui. We loved our time and would 100% recommend our friends to stay here :)

    Arianna2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place! Stayed here for one night last week and wish we could have stayed the whole time. Eve was lovely and gave us great tips. The grounds were beautiful and I loved the shower! Would definitely stay again.

    Rosa2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful, secluded, quiet, and lush cottage. It was well appointed as well. Eve was responsive and friendly. We didn't use the kitchen much but it would have been suitable to simple meal prep. The bathroom was well appointed though the shower seemed to run out of hot water at odd times.. Maybe it's hooked up to the same supplies as the other structures on the property or just has limited capacity. The wifi was dead, which was a letdown since the property has poor cell reception. In some regards that could be considered a good thing. Aside free on those minor grievances, the experience was wonderful. I hope to stay here again and would recommend to friends.

    Aaron2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Eve was very welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Many chickens and roosters running around. The cottage is very cute and cozy, in a great secluded location that’s very beautiful in the mountains. Eve had great recommendations for food and hikes. We had a great stay here!

    Desi2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the little cottage and happy with our choice to stay here. Eve was great at communicating and we wouldn’t change a thing about our stay.

    Emily2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for exploring Maui's upcountry. Beautiful grounds with fruit trees, creek, nursery/garden and a labyrinth! Bed was extra soft and comfortable. Large bathroom. Great lighting and lots of windows.

    Sheala2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not even certain how I can describe how incredible Eve and the Gingerbread house were! First the house/property are in a perfect location on the island if you are there to explore and be away from all of the tourists! It is so very peaceful, yet a close drive to stores, restaurants, beaches, mountains, and the airport. The Gingerbread is such a beautiful little gem...the smell of cedar and the sound of birds greeted us everyday and simply helped us ease into the right mind set for a wonderful vacation! The property is lovely. Complete with fruit trees, flowers an incredible labyrinth. The only problem we had with it was getting enough motivation to leave that wonderful place in the mornings to go explore the island! Eve was wonderful as well! She made us feel so welcomed and was very helpful with all of our inquiries. All in all an incredible place run by wonderful people!

  • My husband and I enjoyed this cozy little carriage house at the end of our Colorado honeymoon. It was a perfect little neighborhood close to all the fun and food. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your carriage house! Perfect place with great hosts!

    Teah2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I've been using AirBnB and similar services for years now. This was truly the most pleasant such rental property I've ever stayed. Mick was gracious but non-intrusive, the house is a beautiful restoration and the location was great. There were touches and little amenities all over the place and if you didn't know it, you would think this was a boutique hotel. Though it was close to happening neighborhoods, it was extremely quiet in the house! Overall, A++++ Highly recommend for a couple's getaway. We had a wonderful experience. We will check here first if staying in Denver again.

    John2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Carriage House has probably been my most enjoyable airbnb experience to date. The entire house is extremely charming and functional! There were drinks in the fridge and snacks in the cabinets upon arrival. Mick was very welcoming and helped us use the hot tub to relax after a week on the mountains. I would definitely consider staying here again when I'm back in Denver.

    Rachel2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! The host is really nice! We had fun here!

    yong qiu2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really wonderful time at this home away from home. Mick has done an excellent job creating a comfortable living space, and making his guests feel welcome! From the manual/guidebook with tons of helpful information on Denver, to letting us use his bikes to cruise around the neighborhood, to the snacks and drinks in the fridge when we arrived - this was truly worth every penny! Lovely garden area is outside the carriage house, and the neighborhood is full of great breweries, coffee shops and restaurants. 10/10, would definitely come back and stay here again!

    Tim2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy that we decided to choose this location. I'm not Airbnb guru but I was impressed that Mick had left a few drinks in the fridge and some chocolates out for a snack when we arrived. The property is amazing. The only change we would make would have been to extend our stay. Mick and Peter are good people and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Denver.

    Brad2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was an excellent stay! Everything from check in to check out was smooth. Place was so unique! It is relatively small but a fantastic use of every inch.

    Pooja2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • HANDS DOWN The best place Airbnb we have stayed at and we have stayed at quite a few. The house itself is has a design aesthetic that should make itself into design magazines. Plus there are these touches that Mick adds to make you feel at home, not to mention the hot tub outdoors.

Cradled inside and outside by a mosaic made of Mexican tile, smalti, handmade Perry Hoffman ceramics, tile and fused glass, found desert tiles, found objects, stained glass and ceramic bric-brac, THERE you find yourself situated in complete silence, watching the desert light crawl across the fast and intricate landscape which is ALL around you. 7 miles from the town of 29 Palms and the east entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. 360 degree views amid the peace and quiet, beauty and wonder, where indoor and outdoor osmosis expands your exposure to the desert. Touches of luxury, whimsy, and function make the visitor feel safe but also adventurous. Perry has been working on his roadside attraction / museum / gallery / magic spot / mosaic house since it began in 2000. 11 years later, 800 sqft were added, and approximately 2500 sqft of mosaic applied and grouted. Glass fused baubles, hand made ceramics and a magical desert. This desert homestead turned beacon of love vision is waiting to reach the stars. The Tile House sits in the middle of the vast and open desert. You need not walk two feet to be a part of the wilderness, now it is up to you to look around both macro and micro and see what you can see here. Jack rabbits, cottontails, ravens, scorpions, desert iguana, snakes, Gambel's quail, lesser night hawks, owls, coyotes, roadrunners, sphinx moths, and kangaroo rats, flash floods, dust devils, lightning storms, sunsets, summer rains, empty roads, wildflowers, and cacti are some of the things you might happen to see. Walk gently in nature. At night, absorb the clear starry skids, and August and November meteor showers. Remember, there are rusty bits and broken tiles in the sand. This is a work in progress. Be careful and don't walk about barefoot. You have been warned. Not recommended for children, unless prior arrangements and agreements are made. You are ironically completely alone in the middle of nowhere and the center of the universe.
  • This place was rad! Amazing art and super comfortable.

  • House was in beautiful clean order. It was secluded and private, easy to find. I enjoyed the stay in the desert and was artfully inspired by my surroundings. My only drawback was local market was a bit short on spoiled LA items I am used to so I suggest bringing some food items. We made a meal and a had a quiet fun and relaxing night in this beautiful home.

    Joe2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perry was very gracious every step of the way! The house met and exceeded the description and pictures. It is perfectly situated on its own, but still in viewing distance of other properties and very close to the national park.

  • A wonderful creative sanctuary for curious souls in search of colorful quiet. We had less than 24hrs to get out of the city for a mini-vacation so could not have been more delighted when we stumbled upon the Tile House on ABnB. It was truly a restorative experience. Not only do you have the glories of the desert at your fingertips to explore but the house itself is a breathing artistic monument. Perry was very helpful throughout the booking process and was quick to answer all of our questions upon arrival. Thank you. We will be coming back!

  • Perrys Tile house ist a total piece of art and it is so colorful and has a very happy atmosphere. We enjoyed this Place very much, especially sitting in the hot tub while watching the stars and then sitting in the garden and feel the good energy of the deserts. • Perry's place is a museum -- Something to see and experience. Perry couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating.

    Minor2015-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most magical weekend of my life staying at the Tile House. I cannot wait to visit again. Perry was the absolute best host, and I can't express how much it meant to stay in his warm and loving home.

  • Our stay in the yurt was amazing. It was exactly the romantic getaway we hoped it would be. The pool was fantastic, and the nature trail was a great little walk around the property. We ordered a dinner basket as well, which was packed with fresh goodies from the farm! We will definitely be back for another stay.

    Dawn2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Whitt was a truly wonderful host and chef! Great space, out of the norm and very well done. We enjoyed our trip and the Yurt is one I've already recommended to my friends. Just be sure to give him more than 2 hours notice (unlike us) in the winter so he has time to heat the yurt!

    Pa2013-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! Whit was very accommodating to our last minute request to stay. So glad we made the decision to do it. Beautiful and relaxing.

    Carrie2013-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful getaway from Washington, DC. My husband and I stayed for a few days and were able to spend the nice weather hiking - including an easy drive to Shenandoah National Park - while also enjoying a relaxing day inside when it rained. At the time we visited, we were able to visit the baby goats, along with the other farm animals. It was also lovely to purchase some of the farm products, including eggs, baked goods, and goat milk-soap and lotion. Whitt and Martha were extremely responsive and provided plenty of information beforehand. Highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Shenandoah.

    Sarah2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt has been one of our most memorable experiences. Whitt and Martha have left nothing to chance when it comes to comfort, and the setting in a forrest on a mountain with magnificent views has to be seen to be believed. A swimming pool, hot tub and delicious breakfasts, plus the opportunity to have a guided tour of their sustainable practice farm make this a delightful experience.

    Tom2012-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough stars to rate how wonderful a trip to Whitt & Martha's yurt is. In comparison, we live in a busy city with lots of traffic, a city that never seems to sleep. Even a walk in the park at the end of our street can be met with speeding cyclists clad in way too expensive spandex outfits. From the moment we approached the dirt road which leads up Pocosan Mountain, it was possible to leave it all behind even if only for a couple of days. To be able to return with our daughter to the place where we were married was like going home to a family that only exists in storybooks. Joe and I don't have big families so being welcomed by Whitt, Martha, their daughters and all the wonderful animals that call their oasis home is nothing short of a fairy tale come true.

    Julie2012-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved our stay in the yurt. It was cozy, had all of the necessities, and felt like our home away from home. The views were breathtaking and motivated us to get up early to experience the sunrise over the mountains. The hot tub was great, as the temperatures were below freezing for most of our stay. The yurt remained nice and warm despite the frigid temperatures. The yurt was also close enough to trails that led to the Appalachian Trail. A far trek, but worth it. We're excited to plan our trip back to Whitt and Martha's yurt! Thanks, Whitt and Martha for making us feel welcome and introducing us to your sweet critters.

    Jessy2016-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on the farm! Just be aware that there is a 10% tax added at the end of your stay. Most hosts will add the fee to the initial listing price but for this one, you'll have a bill to settle before you leave. Otherwise, the spaces are awesome and the farm has everything you'd want or need! Thanks so much for having us!

  • Allan was a really good host, who not just showed me and my friend around but also made us really tasty breakfast. The cabin was cosy and clean, its a perfect place for all the people who wants to get out of city.

    Giedrė2013-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great location and a very unique little studio - the bed upstairs wasn't actually a mattress, it was some foam padding with blankets on top, but the view and surrounding nature made up for it. Cool books and guides on the area, as well as interesting music reads if you're into that kind of stuff. Piano was a nice addition as well. Very isolated was the biggest plus. Alan is next door and pretty hands-on with his guests which is ideal for some, but if you're looking for a couples getaway to capitalize on alone time might not be the best option. Bring your own water since the faucet and shower was giving off a sulfuric/metallic smell - Alan was working on some things nearby so that may have been a temp thing, and he also provided us with some jugs of Poland Springs water. If you are up for a rustic experience and a moderately simple drive up to gorgeous Acadia, definitely stop by here!

    Naima2015-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's cottage is beautiful, especially in the snow. It's proximity to the Acadia National Park is a big plus. He was very accomodating throughout. If you're looking for a snowy, cozy winter getaway from the city, Alan's place is the perfect place to stay.

    Carlos2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Alan's place is amazing and Alan is a great host! The setting of the cabin and the property it is on are truly charming and the views are great (Acadia is visible from the cabin itself). The location is great for those who want to keep distance from the overdeveloped tourist scene at Mount Desert Island, and yet still want to be close enough to Acadia National park. It is also a great base for exploring other areas of coastal Maine, including Blue Hill and it's surroundings and Deer Island. Alan is charming and gracious. If you have the time it is highly recommended to explore the property together with him and even have dinner or breakfast in his cabin. We truly hope to return some day and explore the region at great detail.

    Shai2014-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alan has made the cottage a wonderful place to stay and relax. He not only painstakingly prepared the room but also showed us around the farm and barn. We were overwhelmed by his hospitality when he invited us to his own cabin where we had an inspiring conversation. The cottage was very cozy and has plenty of room for us three people. The cottage has breathing-taking scenery and is close to Ellsworth, where you can find restaurants and shopping centers. I will recommend this place to my friends and would love to come back for another stay!

    Chuanqi2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect getaway! It is super cozy and Alan and Maureen are so helpful and have great tips about what to do in the area. Although we got caught in a snowstorm, it just made our trip even more memorable! Can't wait to be back soon and explore more of Maine!

    Dyami2018-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect, cozy cottage for a lovely fall weekend. Alan was a wonderful host who helped us navigate the area with maps, helpful hints and recommendations. He is also a very warm, kind and interesting man. His property is amazing. There is working concert hall and even a Buddhist mediation center down the road! The location is perfect, as well. It is a 40 minute drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Blue Hill is only a 10 minute drive. We purchased some of our favorite provisions at the Blue Hill co-op (which also contains a small café). We will definitely be visiting Alan and his little bit of paradise in Northern Maine again soon.

    James2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really wonderful time here and it made for the perfect extended weekend getaway! Alan was a great host and pointed us to some of the best local spots. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for: cozy, comfortable, and quiet with amazing views. Plus, the piano and other instruments were an added bonus! The location is close to Acadia National Park, which you can see from the property, but in the quiet countryside with stunning stargazing at night. We highly recommend this place and will look to stay here again next time we're visiting the area.

Thanks for understanding! Single night bookings: We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.

  • Our stay at the Dixie Daisy was fantastic! The airstream was very clean and neatly organized. It was easy to locate everything we needed. We appreciated the accuracy of the listing and the instructions and map left in the airstream. The property is beautiful and with all the amenities provided we were able to have a relaxing, wonderful vacation.

  • Bought this for my daughter. She LOVED it! It was exactly as described. Jennifer is amazing and super nice! Thanks so much:)

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at the airstream on our trip to the hill country. Location is great - very close to downtown Wimberly and an easy drive to other hill country attractions. The only downside was that the weather was too hot to take advantage of the hot tub :) Guess we will be coming back in the cooler months. Definitely a precious place to stay. Highly recommend!

    Jessica2014-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous, relaxing, much needed trip that we didn't know we needed! Wonderful Wimberely was so fun and close by the Dixie Daisy...yet just far enough away to feel like we were able to retreat! Dixie Daisy is so charming and well planned. Jennifer and Gregory are warm and welcoming! The Blue hole, local brew pubs, and The wineries were our favorite places to visit! I would recommend this place to any family wanting to get away. We went to local thrift shops, a bonsai garden exhibit, a glass blowing demonstration and we spent much time relaxing at the Dixie Daisy. The outdoor shower was incredible and the property is breathtaking! Overall on of our favorite trips!

    Chelsie2013-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I was absolutely blown away! This place is amazing. Jennifer and Gregory did a phenominal job with aesthetics and flow. And... BEST hot tub ever!!! Kept warm, with amazing seating. Everything from the hammock, to the 2 perfect chairs around the fire pit to the minimalism inside the trailer without loss of anything needed! So perfect. I can’t wait to go back!!

    Lynzy2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect way to unplug and unwind. Thanks for everything!

    Josh2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Going to Wimberley was just the perfect stop on our roadtrip! Having stayed in Austin with its busy streets and nightlife we felt the need to relax in the wonderful Hill Country. With a great love for detail, Jennifer and Gregory decorated this amazing vintage trailer. The outdoor shower, the hot tub and the fireplace made us feel extremely comfortable. We even had the chance to see some wildlife while sitting on the deck or strolling around the huge property. However, the best thing of all was definitely meeting Jennifer and Gregory. They are such a lovely couple, extremely helpful and generous. We highly recommend staying at their marvellous place!

    Franziska2012-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good time, despite the weather being rather nasty most of the time (cold and rainy). My husband and I spent the weekend, along with our two Corgis, Tucker and Zoey. The Airstream is adorable and fairly roomy inside. We enjoyed the outdoor shower, hot tub, grill, and fire pit when the weather decided to cooperate. We watched movies when we couldn't be outside. We enjoyed walking the beautiful property with our dogs.. the creek is especially pretty. A few things to note... the property isn't as secluded as we had imagined and you can hear traffic noise during the day as it's close to the road. Dogs are allowed, but they must remain on leash. That said, Wimberley is a charming area and we would like to visit again-- when the weather is more cooperative!

The treehouse is tucked away in the rainforest, less than five minutes from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It has two levels, two lanais, even a hot tub up in the trees. You can spend hours in the upper canopy, amidst the honeycreepers flitting through lehua flowers, and soak under the stars winking through the leaves or in the volcano mist. The May 2018 lower Puna eruption does not affect the treehouse. #weaccept
This is a custom designed treehouse, built by the same crew you see in Treehouse Masters on TV. The Jurassic attitude of the rainforest is preserved on the grounds. We also have a wedding venue nearby you may view in the photos. Our volcanoes are in a spectacular phase just now. Views of the summit eruption are a five minute drive away. To see the rivers of lava, you drive into the park and down the mountain. *** May 2108 notes: The park is currently closed. This is expected to be temporary. It is due to what the park calls an abundance of caution during this cycle of steam forming within the crater and hurling rocks from within. The rockfall has so far been confined to the immediate area of the crater itself. There is ocean entry of lava. The only ways to view the lava with your own eyes just now are by helicopter tour and lava boat. Land viewing is restricted to residents of the affected areas. Local effects of the eruption have included increased seismic activity, ash fall that tends to blow in another direction from the treehouse, and Vog. The Vog in Volcano has been no more intense than normal, but in other parts of the island, periodically there is more. Those with asthma and similar sensitivities take heed. The ash fall is unpredictable. There are ash masks at the treehouse for use if needed. *** Mahinui Na Lani hangs in ohia trees growing over a lava tube in the rainforest that extends into Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The treehouse was conceived as a companion to our rainforest pavilion, a Bali style structure a couple of blocks away, intended as an intimate wedding venue. Both may be reserved, and there are a couple of photos of the pavilion included in this series. The treehouse is accessed via a path that is about 100 meandering feet in the forest, lava boulders set into the side of the lava tube, and ladders. The ascent is somewhat steep once you reach the lava rocks. For your safety and comfort, we provide day packs to transfer whatever clothing is needed for your stay from your luggage into the abode. There is a special recessed corner dedicated to your stuff, with hooks for clothes, and a couple of night stands with drawers that can hold less bulky items. It's Hawaii, and the climate is mild, the atmosphere everywhere very casual. We also provide bathrobes. The treehouse itself is built on two levels, connected via a ship's ladder. The main level includes the living room, with two chairs and an ottoman, flat screen for viewing films & playing CDs, built in indoor window table & stools, small kitchen, outdoor shower, and composting toilet & vanity. The indoor fireplace is a Jotul propane stove vented to the outside. Outdoors on the lanai there is a cedar hot tub, and a teak table and chairs for al fresco dining in the trees. The upper level is also upper canopy, with birds actually flying around beneath you sometimes. There is a queen sized bed with a memory foam mattress, the tiny "closet corner" and another lanai. The windows other than the french doors onto the lanai are stained glass, made by a local artist. The kitchen functions best as a place to store leftovers after you go out to eat, with the microwave available to reheat them. There are plates and utensils so you can bring in take out and enjoy your meal either indoors or outdoors in solitude. The house was built primarily of recycled materials. The fir floors and redwood and cedar siding were once a church. This particular area is adjacent to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where Kilauea has been active for decades. There are hiking trails in and around the park through rainforest, desert, volcanic devastation, even a path with footprints preserved from an eruption over a hundred years ago. There are petroglyphs. Less than a mile from the treehouse there is Volcano Village, with restaurants and art galleries, a couple of places to buy gas. The entrance park itself is about two miles away. The neighborhood is rainforest, with many unbuilt upon lots. The reason there is no view of the treehouse through the forest is because the rainforest is very dense. There is the floor, very jungly with ginger, native ferns, and trees. Mid canopy are the tree ferns, some twenty feet tall, and over a hundred years old. The upper canopy is a mixture of ohia trees with red lehua flowers, Hawaiian holly, and others. We are asked from time to time if more than two people can stay in the treehouse. We can especially understand that families would like to bring their children to share this experience. The treehouse is a two person space. Everything is designed to be a honeymoon experience. While it is possible for more than two people to sit together and chat, only two can sleep over. There is no rollaway bed, nor is there room for one or for any other furniture beyond what is there already. Hall of Fame: The treehouse has been featured in Extreme Cribs, on episode 13. The Ellen Show: Kim Douglas's Tropical Vacation Ke Ola Magazine Volcano Tree House story in July - August 2011 edition Trip Advisor: One of the Ten Most Romantic Places to Stay (global selections) PureWow feature Treehouses of the World, Travel Channel European segment, by Treehouse Masters series Buzzfeed blogs and news articles published globally You will have access to the entire property, including the small structure below the treehouse near where you park your car. You may safely lock your luggage inside that room and use the day packs inside during your stay. If you use a CPAP machine, please contact us prior to making a reservation. There is only one treehouse on the property. We live nearby and come by regularly to maintain the treehouse. It is likely we will meet you on arrival. Otherwise, we are available by cell phone, text, email. When we are away, someone else who lives locally will be available to greet you and take care of your needs. The treehouse requires daily attention because it is off grid. This is generally done between 11 am and 4 pm, and most guests are away for that portion of the day. We do ask that if you are staying all day at the treehouse, that you communicate with us to let us know when one of us can come up and take care of the place. The neighborhood is mostly old growth rainforest with a few houses here and there. When you drive up, you will notice there are neighbors across the street and next door. You will forget about them once you walk through the moongate and enter the world of the treehouse. Sometimes of a late afternoon and evening you may hear a local hula halau practicing. We hope you find the sounds of laughter and Hawaiian language and music adds to the ambience. A rental car is a necessity. While there is public transportation, it is a long slow trip up the mountain. Uber and Lyft are available here, but the distances are such that renting a car tends to be more efficient. The park is a couple of miles down the road, and so large you will want to drive and not attempt to walk. Volcano Village is about a mile up the road. You might like to stroll up and back. If walking into the village for dinner, a flashlight for your return is an absolute must. We provide - please take it with you! If you are planning a first trip to our island, we suggest that you stay 2 or 3 nights at the treehouse. Please contact us for for discussion before you reserve if you wish. The island is truly big, and most people would rather spend the night on the west side of the island rather than return to Volcano after a day of play over there. Although we show rates for long term stays, we would like to discuss plans with you before completion of a stay of 5 days or longer. When you decide you want to stay at the treehouse, you are coming to a place unlike any other. There are other treehouses, but each is unique. This treehouse is off grid. This means it requires hands on service, every day. For most people, this is a seamless thing that happens while they are off adventuring. Every once in awhile, people come and do not want to leave, at all. We understand, but we do want to let you know that we must enter the treehouse on a daily basis to service the composting toilet. The hot tub also requires attention. The treehouse is in the forest. It is inside the trees, and this means easy critter access. To keep them outside, we carry your rubbish away and make sure your food is stored adequately. It is not a good idea to leave unwashed dishes, pots and pans, for these same reasons. This is the tropics. There are insects. They are not as prolific here as at lower elevations, but they do exist, and will visit you especially at dusk with lights on. Spiders are residents of the forest. They are food for the birds. If you love the birds, please tolerate their food supply. We empty the house of spiders daily but we do not poison. The spiders come back at will. They are small, and stay in the corners. They leave evidence of their visit in the form of webs. We do our best to be inhospitable to them, but they persist. When there is weather, like hard rains and winds, from your perch in the trees you will experience the sound and feel in ways you may have not before. The house is tight - the weather does not enter if the doors and windows are closed. But the sounds can be formidable. You will feel close to nature. Because of the size of the treehouse and the fact that it is off grid, it is not possible to offer a regular kitchen. The storage space is inadequate for more than a couple of days worth of food supplies.
The neighborhood is part undeveloped rainforest and part lots with houses. There are no tract homes - every house is individually designed and built. There are no street lights so at night it is very dark. The forest tends to obscure moonlight. There is a hula halau that practices nearby some afternoons, and you can hear their Hawaiian music and chants late in the day.
  • Hard to find words to describe our experience at the tree house. Gail made us feel incredibly welcomed from the moment we arrived - providing us with fresh banana bread and everything we needed for breakfast the next morning. The proximity to the green/black sand beaches is hard to beat and that's not to mention the less than 5 minute drive to the volcano national park. If you are staying in the area this airbnb is a must! Thanks Gail for allowing us to enjoy your slice of paradise!

  • Magical. Inspiring. Relaxing. Perfect. A beautiful and enriching experience! The proximity to an active volcano makes it even more amazing. Kilauea evokes a level of majesty and respect unlike anything we've ever seen. The treehouse itself is a work of art with attention to every detail. There’s definitely something special about this space. The hosts are positive and beam with gratitude, keeping the entire grounds extremely well maintained with a wonderful energy. This is a ten star experience, that will leave glowing with the Aloha spirit. Move this to the top of your bucket list. There's nothing like waking up in the trees with birds chirping all around you while a volcano slowly churns in the distance. We will definitely be back for our rain check wine date with our new treehouse friends :) A big Mahalo.

  • My stay at the treehouse was magical. I was hoping for peace and quiet as part of a writing retreat and not only was it that (I wrote 20 pages one day alone!), but the forest and orchids around me seemed to hold me in a sacred space unlike I have ever experienced. Everything was vibrant! I felt totally protected. Being so close to Pele's home was incredible as well. I had access to the park in the silence of the (Website hidden by Airbnb) tourists and just me and a glowing crater. Wow. I made an offering to Pele and She guided my pen tenfold. My hosts were wonderful as well. Considerate of my time and comfort and always quick to respond. Whoever stays here is blessed indeed. Thank you!

  • This treehouse is a dream come true! My husband and I stayed here during half of our Big Island honeymoon. Every detail is beautifully put together, interesting, and comfortable. The hot tub and outdoor shower are magic! The bed is comfortable, and the ladders are easy to manage. I would advise not having ambitious cooking plans here since the kitchen is small, but there is everything you would need for a stir fry or seared ahi tuna! Also, the kitchen was stocked with everything you might need for a lovely breakfast like eggs, banana bread, butter, coffee and tea. The care-taking staff is attentive and kind, and the owner is quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely recommend this place, and hope I can make it back to Hawaii to stay again!

  • This was a really unique and interesting place to stay. The tree house is amazing!! So well built and with lots of character and attention to detail. The hot tub was perfect and the outdoor shower was one of the best showers we've ever had :-) The owners were very helpful and left lots of nice food for us. Its in a perfect location for visiting the volcano and the local area has some nice restaurants Thanks again for an unforgettable stay!

    Fiona2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • As described. You won’t be disappointed.

    Matt2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a magical getaway in the treehouse! It is even more beautiful in person! We loved the hot tub and outdoor shower, all of the intricate details and decor inside, and the sweet touches- coconut cookies left for us! So quiet and soothing, we wanted an off the grid experience, and it was perfect. Bed was very comfortable and we loved awakening to the birds in the ohia forest. Great location for a weekend of hiking in the park, and restaurants nearby in Volcano Village. Would recommend this treehouse to anyone looking for a lovely, peaceful, or romantic time. Great hosts and communication too :)

    Elizabeth2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about this place. It was unlike any other place I ever stayed and by far probably the most memorable. Absolutely loved it. I was surprised they left some breakfast ingredients in the fridge for us too which was awesome and thoughtful. The outside shower and serenity of the treehouse is perfect.

Bernal Heights is a very popular neighborhood. It's interesting, safe, convenient, beautiful, quiet. The best place to live in SF!
  • We rented this apartment for friends visiting us in SF from France, and it's even more adorable than it looks in the pictures. Our friends were thrilled with it, and frankly, I really wish I lived there. You couldn't hope for a better place.

    Mac2013-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were gone when we arrived but as planned, they had provided us with easy access into the apartment. Everything was as advertised and checkout was a breeze. We met with Mike upon leaving to return the keys. Will definitely stay here again if we're back!

  • Excellent experience. I have family in Bernal Heights. This is a terrific neighborhood. One bus to Market St/Union Sq, if you take the # 9. # 24 takes you to the Castro. I have gotten to like walking the Cortland St neighborhood. Also, this is an exceptionally clean studio apt.

    Harry2014-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We only met Nic and she was nice. They were flexible with the check in and check out times which was helpful in our situation. The price per day with very reasonable but it did have the feel of living in someone's personal space. There was an over abundance of books, CDs, DVDs that could have been removed to give more storage space for visitors. The decor was interesting, rather Bohemian, but the couch and bed were a bit uncomfortable. The area felt safe and the parking was always easy. We took buses downtown several times encountering colorful yet smelly passengers. If you like that kind of thing, you'll enjoy your ride. I took Uber home from downtown several times and highly recommend it.

    Emily2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late (11PM) and Mike met us at the door to give us the keys (Instead of just putting them in the mailbox) and showed us where everything was. He also gave us a few hints which were very, very helpful. It was extra nice having the host there especially when arriving so late. We really appreciated it.

    Mary2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean and decent. Mike and Nic offered their hell any time. No problems. A great place to be.

    Jan2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My family was visiting me in SF and we found this studio well decorated and that comfortably accomodated my family of 4. Mike, the renter, was very flexible about checkin and checkout times and was available for any questions. My family really enjoyed this place.

    Genevieve2012-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Mike and Nic's apartment in Bernal Heights made our San Francisco trip unforgettable! Everything we needed was there and more. Our daughter used the couch which was transferrable to a queenbed and she slept really well. We also slept like babies in the comfy bed. The neighborhood was pleasant, safe and quiet. On top of a real steep small street. (especially for us Dutch people who are used to flat flat flat :-) ). Mike and Nic are great hosts and whenever we'll be back in SF, we surely want to stay with them again!

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Sara was out of town, but she was still an excellent host because she made arrangements with another SF local to help us out. The "replacement host" was always available to help us over text and answer questions (like, "where should we park?"). We were impressed with the privacy that Air BnB offered - the host is able to be contacted, but not always checking in with you or watching when you come and go (contrast this to a hotel lobby where everybody is always watching you). The Garden Retreat itself was beautiful and secluded. There were no surprises when we arrived as the listing photographs and description were true to life. Personally, the Haight neighborhood of SF was our favorite. Walking distance to the amazing Golden Gate Park and tons of nearby restaurants to choose from. I can't speak to public transportation as we drove everywhere, but I am surprised at how easy driving and parking was.

    Kelsey2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved San Francisco and we think that Sara's place had a lot to do with that. Great location, in a nice residential neighbourhood two blocks away from vibrant Haight St. where you can find bars and restaurants (the Thai restaurant is great!), coffee shops and very interesting shopping ideas. It is also very close to the beautiful Golden Gate Park, great if you have children. There you can rent bicycles, and we think that is the best way to get to know The City. The apartment is very comfortable and quiet. The view to the garden and the sweet smell of flowers make a great difference. If you have a car you can park it right outside easily. We saw Sara very briefly but she was always very friendly and gave us some good tips about the town. And she also has a great selection of books about San Francisco! We definitely recommend this place.

  • Had a great stay at Sara's. Sara was very helpful with directions for transport, eating etc and organizing taxi to airport. Sara's place is well situated to tourist attractions. Throughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Great accommodation in a great location. Only 2 blocks from the main street in Haight Ashbury. Easy access to the city centre. Sara was very hospitable and teally made sure we were comfortable.

    Sarah2015-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We came back to Sara's lovely appartment for a second time and everything went smoothly. The only issue we had was with the WiFi signal that was quite weak at times. Other than that, we had a great time and we think Sara is a nice host and answered to all our requests.

    Paula2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this cozy home! The location was convenient and the neighborhood felt safe. We found the host’s binder of local amenities and guide books very helpful, and the espresso machine was a nice bonus. Our favorite part was probably the fireplace, which was perfect for taking off the chill at the end of a cool, rainy day.

    Holly2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was the ultimate host! The space is gorgeous and the perfect location for exploring San Francisco’s outer suburbs. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Thanks again Sara

  • My husband and I stayed at the garden retreat during our trip to San Fran. Sara was great with communication leading up to our trip and was so friendly upon our arrival. The apartment perfectly matches the pictures- clean, well decorated and just an incredibly welcoming setting. It is situated on the back of the house and super quiet overlooking a wonderful garden. We loved being able to leave the windows open for a cool breeze or have the option of turning on the fireplace at night when it cooled down. The neighborhood is a wonderful mix of eclectic Haight Street traffic below and the gentrified Cole Valley bars and restaurants several streets above. Sara had great recommendations and we loved exploring the neighborhood and found ourselves eating many meals in that area! Our flight was a red eye and Sara was incredibly gracious allowing us to leave our luggage in her front hall after we had "checked-out" so that we didn't have to lug it around the city our last day! We loved everything about our stay and would highly recommend this Garden Retreat to anyone visiting San Fran. Sara is a fabulous host and her apartment is the perfect place to take a break from sightseeing!

We love the tranquility of our very beautiful mountain and the spectular ocean views
  • I absolutely loved my stay at Ling and David's beautiful home. They were very communicative and everything went smoothly. The place is like a retreat, I loved sitting on the deck outside watching the sky change colors in the evenings and listen to the symphony of crickets. I slept like a baby! Note that if there are guests staying in the upstairs house, you will hear every footfall. I was really sad to leave and hope to return for another stay one day!

  • LOVE THIS PLACE. The view is stunning and the house and its surrounding magical. I have stayed in a lot of places in LA and this is my favourite and also incredible value for what it is. I recommend v highly!

    Alexander2015-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a magical retreat from the city....views are amazing and the pictures accurately show this home! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Malibu but as we headed up the canyon road...we affectionately said, "ready to get back to our retreat!" The views of the Pacific Ocean and well as the mountains make sipping coffee in the morning a ritual that we enjoyed even more. The hosts had everything we could possibly need...definitely will come back!!!!

  • Great hosts! The location and view is amazing. It was an awesome experience staying in this area. The hosts left essential items such as toiletries (shampoo, soap, razors, toilet paper, paper towels, q-tips, etc.) Any questions i had i would text David/Ling. The drive up to the area is breath taking, it does take some getting used to when you are driving at night, but you will figure it out with no problems---its pretty easy to find after the first time. There was a Starbucks, cvs pharmacy and ralphs all in one strip mall near the Malibu pier and beach which was convenient.

    Anita2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is ideal if you would like to get away from civilization and be close to it at the same time. The apartment is very romantic. The view could not be much better. David was very helpful and very easy to reach when needed. Beaches, restaurants, shops are within a short drive.

The Urban Farmhouse circa 1886 - meticulously converted in 2013. Situated adjacent to community garden. The updates afford you all the modern convenience you could ask for and charm you can only get from a building built in 1886. A true Charmer.
Privately tucked next door to a community garden in Denver's oldest neighborhood. 1/2 block to light-rail and near to B-Cycle (public bikes). Walking distance to local craft breweries and restaurants on Welton and Larimer. Street parking. 2 Bedrooms/2 Bathrooms perfectly sleeps two couples (additional charge for additional guests). We have a pack-n-play and baby gates available upon request. It is my home, but i will lock my personal items away and with the exception of a small portion of the closet the whole place is yours during your stay.
Denver's oldest neighborhood, Curtis Park nestled between gritty RINO with craft breweries, restaurants and Welton Street - all in walking distance (minimum 3 blocks away). About one mile to Denver's 16th Street Mall. One block from Curtis Park with public outdoor pool open Jun-Aug
  • Your going to love the sheets and pillows! Patrick is a great host and even buys good conditioner! We loved the fully equipped kitchen and decor. It was a fantastic place to stay in Denver.

  • I can’t say enough great things about Patrick and The Urban Farmhouse. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was great and parking was always available. You can walk or quickly Uber to many locations. This is definitely a place where I would stay again.

  • We had an amazing stay at the farmhouse! We loved the location. The neighborhood feel is something you can't get from staying in a hotel. Close ride to the city, but easy walk. The house was clean, comfortable, and wonderfully furnished. Best Airbnb experience by far!!

    Alexandra2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean. Had pro hotel touches like baggage holders, towels, snacks, guest guide. The 2 bedrooms are big. We had a friend sleep on the couch downstairs which was nice. The 2 bathrooms were pretty big. You can tell there was a lot of pride in the details and decor. The neighborhood was pretty amazing (Rhino, Larimer St). It reminded me a lot of Logan Square or Wicker Park or Pilsen neighborhoods in Chicago. Good coffee, shopping, breweries nearby. The graffiti nearby was an attraction on our bike tour.

    Henry2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb booking and it was incredible. It was cozy yet stylish and the host left drinks, snacks and candy for us! I loved relaxing outside on the patio with some of our long-time friends who came by for dinner. The decor is pretty amazing and my daughter found a nook that overlooks the kitchen where she popped her head out of to surprise us when we first arrived.

    Aaron2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have asked for more from our short stay at the Urban Farmhouse. Patrick made sure that we had everything we possibly could have needed and the house was absolutely fabulous. The location was great, close to hip restaurants, shops, and bars, and parking was never a problem. Beds were comfy, place was impeccably clean, and decor was super funky & cute! Thanks so much Patrick!

The space is littered with family heirlooms and pieces of antique art that tell the story of our fair city. In the morning, the sun spills through the east facing wall, lighting up the cathedral ceilings and garland cladded chandelier. In the corner of the cottage is a reading nook where you can forget about your worries and dive into any of the novels housed in the library shelves. Wave your hand in front of the electric fireplace to ignite flames that create an authentic ambience or build a real fire in the fire pit outside. Take a long bath in the stock-tank-converted tub or grab the remote for the smart TV and sign into your Netflix/Hulu/HBO Go accounts. You can also cast something from your own computer with our Chromecast. If your adventurous spirit leads you beyond the walls of the The Cleveland Cottage, hop in a Lyft/Uber and take the 5 minute ride to the famous 5 points in East Nashville or downtown to the Honky Tonks. If you get tired, no worries, we've got a personal Keurig, in our full/fully stocked kitchen, to keep you going for days.
We live in the Historic Cleveland Park neighborhood of East Nashville adjacent to the original thoroughfare, Dickerson Rd. It is a transitional neighborhood and part of the gentrification process undergoing most surrounding, downtown neighborhoods here in Nashville. From big ol' craftsman houses to tiny, baby, paint-peeling bungalows- we have never found a more ethnically-diverse, artistic, tight-knit group of neighbors and are positive you will not only fall in love with Nashville, but also with our world-within-a-world... Cleveland friggin' Park.
  • We fell in love with East Nashville and its ease and proximity to all things fun that Nashville has to offer. We were able to bike into the 5 points area for great coffee, food, and drinks. Downtown, 12 South, and the Gulch were also a quick 10-15 minute drive from Beta & Emily's. Beta was sweet and helpful with recommendations for bike trails and vintage shops. Thanks again!

    Jamie 2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely cosy time staying at Cleveland Cottage. Beta and Emily have made a lovely clean modern property to stay in Nashville. The bed is fabulously comfortable too. Highly recommend. Karen Richard and julia

  • This transitional neighborhood is headed in the right direction. With people like Beta and Emily who have invested not only money and a great deal of effort but also love and dedication they will succeed. Beta and Emily greeted us upon our arrival, walked us through the cottage and made sure we had everything we needed. Beta checked in with us a few times over the weekend to make sure everything was good and to see if we needed anything. They were such gracious hostesses without being intrusive. The Cleveland Cottage is a fantastic place to stay and the Five Points area is a trendy place to grab anything from a great pizza to ice cream.

  • Awesome little cottage! Very cute and cozy decor, had all the amenities we needed, nice and private space (fenced-off in a quiet residential area), and the loft area is super cool! We came during the dead of winter but the fireplace and supplemental heater were more than enough to keep us nice and toasty throughout our stay. Our hosts were very accommodating and checked-in with us periodically via text to see if we needed anything. Overall a great experience in a great city. Don't think about it - just book this one!

  • Wow! This place is a dream! Great location and great place to stay while in Nashville. Beautiful decor and cozy beds. Beta was so helpful and gave several suggestions on things to do and places to see during our stay. I would absolutely recommend staying in this beautiful cottage! One of the best Airbnb experiences I have had!

    Kristin2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a blast at Beta & Emily's cottage. Beautifully done and such a convenient location. We loved filling out the guestbook and reading the entries of past guests! Also the cowhide rug was so pretty that my husband and I are now on the search to find one of our own. We bought a few records to play on the record player, which was quite the treat!

    Tess2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the coziness and comfort of the cottage! It was a great retreat and home base for our Nashville adventures. We would definitely consider a return visit in the future.

    Lindsay2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My fingers are seizing because I really don’t know how to begin capturing the essence of this effortlessly breathtaking sanctuary. Was it the clean, homey, rustic chic aesthetic, equipped with cow hyde, mason jars, repurposed bathtub, and roaring fireplace - effectively marrying the concepts of old country and new urban chic. Or the plush mattress with pillows having that ever hard to attain perfect combination of plush and firmness? Could it have been the sense of community established with the guest book and instant camera, so everyone who had graced the cottage beforehand could include their favorite parts about Nashville? I once read somewhere that we interpret smells as memories, and perhaps what I’ll remember most is the smell upon walking into the Cleveland Cottage each time: a combination of clean laundry, old wood, and fresh evergreens - home. It served as the perfect base for all of our (e)a(t)-dventures. How many times have I used the word perfect now? Perfect. To Beta and Emily: we are forever grateful for what you have created. It is engrained in our memories forever. Each detail you provided was so appreciated - from the qtips to toilet paper, coffee, tea, guide book, and even checking in on us throughout the weekend. We can't wait to be back.

A cozy & clean renovated cottage in South Inglewood with private entrance. One bedroom, one bathroom cottage w/ a nice patio and backyard. Plenty of street parking. We'd love to help make your Nashville trip perfect!
Our cottage, which was renovated last year, is spacious (384 sq ft) with plenty of privacy. Included is a big patio and large backyard. Inside the cottage you'll find a full size bed, couch, dining table with chairs, shower/bathtub, and washer & dryer. Soap, shampoo, detergent, hair dryer, noise machine and filtered water are all provided.
Located in South Inglewood, we are very close to all the great East Nashville spots and only 4 miles to downtown. Our street is an upcoming residential area that is improving everyday. We are walking distance from a great YMCA and our neighborhood Mexican restaurant called Las Maracas. There's no shortage of good food, bars, shops and nightlife just minutes away. Most importantly, in the four years we've lived here, we've always felt safe.
  • Julian and his lovely wife welcomed us late into the evening as we arrived from Missouri with open arms and warm smile. The room was absolutely perfect and just what we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay or more kind hosts. The bed was incredibly comfortable and although it was a little smaller my wife and I felt like we had plenty of room. I highly recommend this spot! If you're thinking about coming to Nashville this is where you should post up here!

  • The place was great! Super cozy and very clean. Julian was great at communication and made sure we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable and sleep wasn't difficult to come by. When visiting Nashville in the future, I plan on staying here again!

  • Great experience! the Unit was beautiful and charming. Perfect place to stay for a quick visit to Nashville. Located close to some great dining spots, and only a short Uber ride to downtown. Julian was very good about checking in and making sure our stay was pleasant. Loved waking up and listening to some Johnny Cash on vinyl!

    Ezra2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just as the listing photos indicate, this is an absolutely wonderful property in a great up and coming part of town. You definitely need to be prepared to Uber / drive to get around but in terms of value for money and location (quiet, friendly neighborhood) it can't be beaten. Highly recommended.

  • We had a great stay. Bed was comfy! The cottage looks just as in the pictures. Julian was so easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Loved the hospitality, fresh flowers and a welcome note

  • Had a great time staying here! We were arriving late in the evening and had no problem finding or accessing the cottage - in the morning we were greeted with chickens (which we loved)! The cottage is as described - the decor was great and we enjoyed using the record player in the mornings. The location of the cottage is great - near lots of "must do's" in nashville. Julian was gracious and readily available had we had any questions or concerns. Would absolutely stay here again!

Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • The apartment was clean, cozy and impeccably charming. As pictured - in a great location near great restaurants, shops and vibes. Azul was extremely accommodating and the entire process was a breeze. Would stay there again!

  • Greg and Maria made us feel so very welcome in their beautiful home. Maria's assistant Azul was also just the perfect host and we had the most wonderful first wedding anniversary out in NYC because of it. We cannot thank yourselves enough and hope to return again soon! Very best to you all, Ali & Rob x

  • Maria's space is gorgeous! The neighborhood is very safe and close to public transport, restaurants and shops just a stones throw away. Everything you could need is provided and Azul was always a text or phone call away. Any questions we had were answered promptly. Highly recommend.

  • We had a great stay. Nice location, cool funky apartment, close to Bedford ave shops and restaurants. If you need to park and can't find on street parking there's an inexpensive garage ($15/night) a block away. My daughter left a cellphone behind by accident, and when we called Maria's friend Azul was already aware and met us to return it a half hour later.

  • Wonderful apartment, wonderful location.

    Craig2013-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very helpful and got back to us promptly when we had questions. The place more than lived up to our expectations. It was very well located in relation to the Williamsburg ferry, other transport, great cafés and restaurants. It was as the host said a very safe trendy place to be. We loved our time there and overall it was a very enjoyable holiday with very easy access to Manhattan

This is a safe space. I've created a wonderful space that I love to call home. It's full of good energy, happiness & musical instruments! All is Love. It's in Southeast Denver near I-25 and Evans. It's 15 mins from downtown & 20 mins from the airport. Come play with me! Cleaning fee is included in the price.
*** PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE INQUIRING. ** *** THIS IS A SAFE SPACE *** *** Must be LGBTQ friendly because I am, too! *** *** I have an adorable cat named Butternut Squashington. If you're allergic, steer clear. I'm sorry you won't be able to meet him. :) *** *** 420 Friendly - cannabis inside, anywhere, cigarette outside. There’s a 420 drawer for all your hardware needs! Dab rig, pipes, papers, grinder, etc *** If you want to have the entire space to yourself you can check this link to see if the space is available: http://abnb.me/EVmg/Y09W6mNaHF. This listing usually books out more than a month in advance. Check in is at one, but is definitely flexible depending on your needs and the guests prior to you. You can at least drop your bags off if your travel plans have you arriving early in the day. I'm a very open-minded queer woman that wants you to have a great time in Denver. I can help you find what you want to do and where you should go to do it. Maybe we can even go together! My condo is easy to find with lots of parking. Please park on the street. You can use my garage if you'd like although my neighborhood is very safe. I'm close to the airport and if you need a ride and I'm available, we can do that for a small fee to cover gas. The bus system is relatively easy to use from my place but gets very limited late at night. If you come when I'm not home I'll guide you to the hideaway key. You have to climb one flight of stairs to get to my condo. Make yourself at home! Eat food, drink drinks, play instruments or take a nap with the kitty. You and a second guest will sleep on a comfy foam mattress in the guest room (it's private). If there are three or four guests, we can blow up the double tall queen mattress. I travel a lot for work, so you may need to change your own sheets. I am a sound healer and offer discounted treatments if you stay with me. My work is to bring the body from a place of imbalance to a place of balance using the vibrations of ancient instruments. It's like a full cellular body massage! I don't have cable - I have internet, plenty of DVDs and a little projector for a fun entertainment center extraordinaire. If you bring a laptop you can connect it via HDMI to the projector, and I have the adaptor for Mac. There's a grocery and liquor store within walking distance if you have any needs that I don't have stocked. Feel free to do laundry with my personal machines and supplies. You need to turn on the light inside the closet where the laundry is to turn the washer on. When leaving please be careful because my cat is quite the escape artist.
Very close to I-25, yet quiet and clean. I have very nice neighbors.
  • Perfect stay for a quick stop in Denver! The apartment has great energy with colorful walls, artwork/musical instruments, and positive messages that made us super relaxed and inspired. Very clean and spacious with easy parking out front. We unfortunately did not get a chance to meet Lauren, but she was an excellent host, very friendly and welcoming in our communication. Thank you, Lauren!
