Casablanca Valley boutique Winery Tour
We'll leave Santiago around 9 am and take a pretty , 75 mins drive to the Casablanca Valley, previously famous mainly for its' whites but now producing increasingly amazing reds as well. We'll avoid the large, commercial, touristy producers and concentrate exclusively on boutique wineries with - it goes without saying - fantastic wines and a special, intimate vibe. Depending on the availability that day, we'll visit any two of the best, special, small producers in the valley, each with their own distinct and contrasting styles of wine. A lunch stop is not included in the schedule or price but can be arranged if all participants are up for it (from an empanada to a sit-down lunch) and if planned in advance. My aim is for the trip to be laid back, entertaining and informative, hopefully as if travelling with a friend. I speak native-level English, French and Spanish. Please note that due to some wineries still being closed to tourism because to the pandemic (or in some cases just on certains days), I ENCOURAGE INQUIRIES BEFORE GUESTS ACTUALLY BOOK, TO GIVE ME TIME TO CHECK WINERY AVAILABILITY BEFOREHAND and avoid having to reschedule in the event of unavailability on any given day. In principle the experience is limited to 3 guests for comfort reasons but larger groups (traveling together) can be accomodated. Please contact me with any doubts for for further information!

Prepare the famous Empanada de Pino
We will share with you a cooking class where you will learn the techniques and secrets of the famous Empanadas de Pino, a special recipe of our beloved and remembered grandmother. We will talk about the ingredients that compose it: the dough, the filling or pino (onions, meat, raisins, olives and egg) and the famous Chilean pebre (tomato, onion and coriander). We will cook the ingredients of the empanada, and we will teach you how to organize the elements to fill them, we will work the dough, cut it and make the classic shapes, then we will heat the oven to the right temperature and bake them until they are golden brown. We will also make the delicious pebre that accompanies them, and finally we will sit at the table to taste the traditional Chilean Empanada de Pino con Pebre. Ask me if you have any special needs, and we will see how we can adapt to you. We love to share with people from different cultures and we will be happy to share with you, whoever you are.

Vive Santiago by Bike
We will start the experience of living and feeling the capital by bike in the civic center of Santiago, we will visit the Plaza de la Constitución, Government House, Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, etc. Then we will head to the market area, first we will visit the Central Market (fish, seafood) and then the Market of typical food, fruits and vegetables. We will then move towards the Forest Park, the great green lung of the city, to cover it in its entirety. Then we will go up to the summit of Cerro San Cristóbal, where you will get beautiful panoramas of the city and the Los Andes mountain range. To go up we will choose between two alternatives: the first includes about 30 minutes of pedaling up to the summit of the hill; if you think that your physicist will not be able to climb the hill, we will choose the second alternative and we will go up by cable car to the top (on Saturday and Sunday in the afternoon only the alternative of the cable car is feasible). Then we will experience an adrenaline junk and finally visit the artistic, gastronomic and beautiful Barrio Lastarria. Other highlights: We will mostly tour the city for the most part by bike paths, and where they don't exist we'll go down the street next to the vehicles. Remember!.. it is not a tour of historical information, it is a walk to make you feel the city of Santiago yourself with all its life, characters, colors and scents.
From San Cristobal hill to downtown
We begin our tour walking to the San Cristobal hill, trek to the top and enjoy one of the best views of Santiago. Upon the incline there are several options to cool off, eat a snack and rest for a while ( (if you don't want to walk, you can get on the funicular, if yes, the tour should start at 10 am). Then, we will descend and walk from Barrio Bellavista, crossing the Commercial District Patronato to the market area. First we will visit La Vega, the largest food market in Santiago, where anyone can purchase delicious food if they feel inclined. Then we will go through La Vega Chica and Tirso Molina until we reach the Central Market, now transformed into a place specializing in the sale of seafood and local Chilean food. Next to the market, there is a place where you can also taste the famous Empanada de Pino. We will continue sightseeing the Center of Santiago, and visit some emblematic places such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Ex-Congress, the Courts of Justice, the Paseo Banderas and the Palacio de la Moneda. Anyway, if there is any special interest to visit somewhere, we can also include it in the tour. ON MONDAYS THERE IS NO FUNICULAR Other things to note It is a long walk through the city, including a climb to the hill, which should be taken into account before we begin. Bring money in case you fancy some of the food suggestions on the tour.
