Elena was extremely friendly and helpful with emails before we even arrived, with good instructions to get to her place. The apartment is part of the community house where Elena and other guests gather in the sitting area to socialise. We enjoyed strolls through the grounds listening for birds and dipping in the creek. Elena gave us a good tour, explaining all the trees and bamboos on the plot. Vanilla, coffee, cinnamon and allspice etc. There are are some nice local walks and a 30 minute drive or bus ride into Quepos or Manuel Antonio. We chose to stay here because it was a bit different from other apartments we had stayed in. It is important for guests to realise this is a typical Tico-style farm building, surrounded by forest, and this is all part of the experience.
Elena is a wonderful host. She sincerely cares for her guests' comforts, and positive experiences. She goes above and beyond in including you if travelling by bus into town, she is a resource for a wealth of information, just Ask Elena! I have had a wonderful experience and am forever grateful!
