The Palace of Achilleion or the Palace of Sissi (Empress Sissi from Austria built the palace) is very close to the house. The palace’s main theme is Achilles from Greek mythology. Admire its beautiful art works, including the famous "Dying Achilles" statue and the "Triumph of Achilles" by Franz von Matsch that depicts Achilles dragging Hector’s lifeless body in front of the Gates of Troy. Achilleion's location provides panoramic views of Corfu town to the north and of the southern part of the island. The palace garden is impeccably landscaped.
