Great beer and cool atmosphere, established in building that was formerly, in the distant past, a... can you guess... a brewery! Great location, across from Petoskey State Park with a small (Mud) Lake out back, and at the intersection of paved bike trails that extend to downtown Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Alanson, and beyond.

The Noggin Room downstairs in basement has a good selection of quality beer and food with popcorn served as an appetizer. Patrons are often treated to live music, particularly on the weekends. Take advantage of discounted beer and appetizers during Happy Hour from 4-6. During the summer, the Veranda, an open-air venue out back, is also an option for food, drink, and spectacular views of Little Traverse Bay.

The Bear River is distinguished by having the steepest drop of any river in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in it's last mile, which happens to flow through the middle of the City of Petoskey. Hike the trails on either side of the river (and connected by footbridges) to view rapids, woods, and wildlife. Their are picnic areas and public bathrooms.

Bay View Association is a PUD (Planned Unit Development) established nearly a century ago, I think lol. Planning included preservation of a large chunk of property called Bay View Woods. This large wooded area includes a variety of natural features ranging from wetlands to high bluffs. A great place to explore and get some exercise. Finding access points to the trail systems can be a bit tricky, but we'll help on that front.

Bayfront Park, connecting the Petoskey downtown area to the Lake Michigan waterfront, provides incredible views of Little Traverse Bay, especially sunsets. You can hike miles along the waterfront with limestone cliff on the inland side, or out onto the pier and breakwall, which is a favorite launching/swimming spot for locals. There is a baseball diamond, playground, and even a pond where you will often see kids fishing.
