There are lots of great places to eat, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you want. Some places are seasonal and have different opening hours depending on the time of year and day of the week; it's worthwhile checking website for updates.
Recently changed ownership and renamed Parsons Dinner House Open Wednesday to Sunday service lunch and dinner - we haven't eaten here as yet but hear generally good reports although it's a little pricey.

Parker Pie is now almost iconic in the Northeast Kingdom. They serve the very best pizza in the world (and you thought that was Italy or New York!) They also serve a great selection of micro brewery ales and some lovley wines. There are regular live music evenings and a weekly trivia quiz night. Its about the only place near Barton where you can eat after about 8pm Check their website for seasonal opening times theme nights and specials menu

Parks & Nature

The park rangers do a great job keeping the park well maintained, clean and safe. There are tree to shade you and grass to lay on if you want to catch some rays. The water is (as the name suggests) crystal clear and because the beach is gently shelved the water warms up to a pleasant temperature during the summer months. There are hot showers, toilets and a concession kiosk selling refreshments and hiring boats. Usually open until Labor 10am until dusk. To get there from the Little Crooked House head towards town and turn right across the railway tracks, up the hill past St Paul's School playground. The road into the State Park is on the right. There is a small charge. Access to the Town Beach is free if charge
