This market is only on Wednesdays in Zamboangita, a small town where the boats to Apo Island take off. It is a place where local farmers and fishermen offers fresh fruits or seafood. It’s also a livestock market, where carabaos (water buffalos) , cows, pigs and other animals are sold. But also any other kind of local products can be purchased at this place.

Nature

Apo is a small volcanic island about 30km south of Dumaguete. It’s one of the best marine sanctuaries and an ideal spot for diving and snorkeling. Someone also has the chance to swim with the amazing sea turtles.

The Casaroro Falls near the town of Valencia can only be accessed by going down about 300+ steps into a deep valley. After that you have to climb over or pass through a lot of rocks and slippery boulders. This trail is not for kids or elderly people. However the sight of the falls is really great. You can also take a refreshing bath near the falls.

After watching the whale sharks in Oslob someone can make a short boat trip to Sumilon Island (15-20 minutes). This island is privately owned and contains a resort. However the sandbar in front of the island can be used for a small fee for swimming or snorkeling.
