Match has a laid back atmosphere with pub-style food. The best thing about Match is the comfortably laid out heated patio, which has a front row view...literally on the Lap of the Stawamus Chief. Some of the seating areas have their own fire pits, others are heated from above. And if you're into it...there's 'bingo' and 'slots' downstairs. Check it out at: http://matchpub.com/squamish/

Best breakfast and lunch in Squamish (open only until 3pm). It's close by (5 minutes by car) and the food is yummy and filling, right next to the Cheakamus River. Eat inside on rainy days or enjoy the outdoor picnic tables. Minnie's favourite is the Dubliner. Warning... long line ups and wait times on holidays and weekends. Easy to get to since it's right off the Highway just before entering Squamish from the South. Short walk from the parking lot and you're looking at the Falls. Amazing when it's been raining and is in full bloom! Bring a parka...it can be wet! And it's free! Check it out at: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/shannon/

The second largest Granite outcropping in North America...yep it's a good hike! Starts out as an easy trail and then gradually escalates to zig zagging rock steps. Be prepared and remember that it can be harder on the joints coming down! You don't have to go all the way but if you do...it's rewarding. Alice Lake is a very popular spot in the Summer. The South end of the lake is cordoned off for swimming, and has many park benches for families and picnics. You can also fish the lake with a dinghy or kayak, or just paddle. There are also many walking trails in the area. Easy to get to, a mere 8 minutes away by car.
