Vietnamese: It is always busy and not a secret tip anymore, but the food at Monsieur Vuong is delicious. Service is super friendly and the interior is warm and stylish. If you do not want to queue in line, get there around 11.40 for lunch. They open at 12.00, but start serving earlier.

Prenzlauer Berg is just around the corner. There are many small shops and restaurants that are distributed almost evenly. In the east of Prenzlauer Berg is the Wins Viertel (Hufelandstraße) with nice small shops and gastro. Or you can walk along the Kastanienallee towards the center. There is a lot to see along Oderberger Straße or around Helmholtzplatz. Just follow your nose.

Schöneberg is a Berlin neighbourhood that is not that well known amongst tourists. It is very nice to take a stroll there. Go on a Saturday and start at the market on Winterfeldtplatz. Walk down south along the Goltzstraße with many nice small handydraft shops and further into the Akazienstraße.

Green: with the S2 or S25 you can conveniently go straight south to Priesterweg where you can head into the Schöneberger Südgelände. It used to be a railway shunting yard. After the railyard closed, a "primeval forest" grew upon the 18‐hectare site. The large photo in our children bedroom was taken there. There is a nice café in the Park that is open on the weekends. https://gruen‐berlin.de/en/natur‐park‐suedgelaende

"Đồng Xuân" is Vietnamese and translates as "spring meadow". In the Lichtenberg district of Berlin, in the Dong Xuan Center, Germany's best-known Asian wholesale market, more than 400 entrepreneurs operate on an area of 165,000 square meters. Almost everything can be found here, from Asian food to textiles, leather goods, haberdashery, technology, watches and jewelry to various services. Several restaurants offer genuine Vietnamese cuisine - from classics such as Pho Bo (rice noodle soup with beef) to unusual specialties of Vietnamese cuisine.

Traveler advice

Getting around

Public transport is easy

I recommend installing the BVG App for finding the best public transport connections in Berlin. You can get day-passes from 1 – 6 days. Check out the site visitberlin.
Ways to save

Use Bus 100 instead of a hop-on-and-of- bus

If you want to see the main sights in Berlin, you do not need to get a ticket for a shightseeing bus. The public transport bus 100 starts at Berlin Zoologischer Garten and takes you through the city, from West to east up till Alexanderplatz
