Drinks & Nightlife

Talented musicians play every night in this hidden open air bar upstairs, inside the bazaar. Great atmosphere and drinks just keep on coming by the staff. Seems to get busy by 9 or 10 pm so be earlier for a seat. If you are into live bands this place is a MUST to listen to the talent.

It would be a entertaining and enjoyable evening, if you spend it here with friends who love good food with live music out in the open. My friends and I visit Chiangmai every year and without fail, an evening at riverside is always in our programme. The choice and quality of food and the band is amazing

Warm up has 4 different rooms with 4 type different types of music; live and DJ. The drinks are definitely a bit expensive but nice atmosphere. Very popular with Uni students and Thai upper class. The location is perfect right in the heart of Nimman, closes at 1am. Make sure to bring passport or ID or you will not be allowed in.

Shopping

The night bazaars are worth a visit and a walk around just for the experience. They sell a lot of generic touristy stuff, however you can get a good deal. Best to go when its not too busy so you have more bargaining power. Food is OK and take your own water to walk about with.

Parks & Nature

Wonderful place for nature lovers! Doi Inthanon is the highest point in Thailand and It is not far from Chiang Mai city. . I think this is the most beautiful point in the North of Thailand and scenery is so wonderful. Food is quite cheap along road from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon. One more thing, you need a jacket because the weather is quite cold there.

The Mae Wang river canyon is located outside of the vilage of Mae Wang within the park area itself and is a haven for swimmers and rafting enthusiasts. there are many restaurants along the road side and each one has steep trails or stairways that lead down to picturesque spots along the river. Restaurants also use ingenious cable systems to deliver food and beverages down to the visitors that bath in the river canyon below. Long rafts created from large sections of Bamboo fastened together are one of the main attractions here. You can hire a boat to take you down the narrow rapids of the river dodging the boulders or you can try it yourself.

This is a nice place to spend a few hours in central Chiang Mai. The combination of new and old temples make for an interesting contrast. Also, monk chat is available for you to ask questions of the local monks as you get their views from a Buddhist perspective and they get to practice their English.
