There are fancy Thai restaurants, and there are good ones. This is a good one. No frills Thai food that fills you up and satisfies. No, it's not in New Orleans; it's in Metairie, but the great thing is you can just directly order ahead of time from the chef who's your next door neighbor!

A more recent addition to the Marigny-Bywater neighborhood, this cafe on a quiet street corner is great for relaxing either indoors or out by the sidewalk under the trees. Once in a while, you'll find a musician entertaining customers as they enjoy their beverage of choice.

The heart of the heart of the city, and while it resembles Disney at first glance, it's far more interesting than the Magic Kingdom. Go inside the St. Louis Cathedral and view the interior, especially after a Sunday mass just to a bit of the magnificent pipe organ. Relax on the lawn in the square, go to the Cabildo for some history, or cross the street greet the Mississippi.

For some, it has a better music scene that rambunctious Bourbon St., Jazz, blues and other types of music abound. Washington Square is a small park to soak up some sun. There's also an art market where local and traveling artists and artisans offer their creations.
