Laugavegur is the main shopping street in central Reykjavík. Next to Laugavegur is Skólavörðustígur that is also a shopping street. From Laugarvegur comes Bankastræti and when you walk past Lækjargata you go down to Austurstræti. All these streets are full of restaurants and stores you might like. I can't think of any that I would not recommend.

A very famous hot dog booth where former president Bill Clinton got an Icelandic hot dog. They are the best in town. I recommend having a hot dog with everything, that is chopped onion, fried onion, mustard, ketchup and "remolaði" which is a mayonnaise based sauce with relish.

Icelanders are very straight forward and don't spend too much time on talking in a some kind of manner. They find more manners in smiles and trying to be helpful. What we usually are using as to be polite is only:
