Great Pizza and other elevated bar food. You'll see a little bit of what passes for a hipster crowd in Clarkesville (lots of well-groomed beards and tattoos) and you'll find they have some tasty craft brews depending on the season. Team Trivia is every Wednesday Night at 7. Open Mic Night is Thursday. http://www.thecopperpotrestaurant.com/

Best Burgers in Downtown Clarkesville. Personally I'm a traditionalist and would recommend the Midtown Burger but more adventurous folks swear by the peach and Bourbon infused flavor of the Atlanta Burger. You really can't go wrong here. They're not open a lot. Really just for lunch so check the website for hours of operation. http://www.1midtowngrill.com/

This is fine dining and has some great steaks. It's a bit pricey by local standards but I've never had a complaint.

It's not much to look at but this place does a great country breakfast. If you're not up to trying this hole-in-the-wall classic, Huddle House and McDonald's are right down the street.

If you don't already have one of these where you live, Your Pie is a wonderful craft pizza place. Your Pie provides customizable 10-inch pizzas and build-your-own panini sandwiches and bread bowl salads. They use a brick oven to cook pizzas at a high temperature for a short amount of time. Gelato (Italian ice cream), craft beer and wine are also available.

This was a bit of a boondoggle for the local taxpayers but it has some nice amenities. The Aquatic Center (inside) consists of two heated pools (one 8 lane lap pool and one recreation pool), two full-size basketball gyms that are separate for one another with audio systems, an aerobics room, one conference room, two large meeting rooms with kitchens, one activity room, a men’s and women’s locker room with showers and lockers.

Formerly a logging town that was in decline, the city resurrected itself by becoming a replica of a Bavarian alpine town, in the Appalachians instead of the Alps. This design is mandated through zoning first adopted in 1969, so that the classic south-German style is present on every building, even on the small number of national franchisees present (such as Huddle House and Wendy's).
