The World’s Fair Marina is a public marina located at the northern edge of Flushing Meadows-Corona. Conveniently located right off the Grand Central Parkway, this public marina is just north of Citi-Field, home to the MLB’s New York Metropolitans, as well as the USTA National Tennis Center, home of the U.S. Open. Originally a boat basin built in 1939 for the World’s Fair, Robert Moses expanded construction of the marina for the 1964 New York World’s Fair to help accommodate over 800 boats. Since 1999, the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation has operated the World’s Fair Marina.
