Food Scene
If you have children, I would go to the Deauville because the kids can run around on the sand while you kick back and enjoy a beverage. They have live music, Wing Night on Mondays, television with a lot of sports and a sit down indoor restaurant. They have stunning sunsets from the deck in the back, adequate parking (although you can walk there in about 5 minutes). It's just a vibrant scene.

The Deauville Inn

They have stunning sunsets from the deck in the back, adequate parking (although you can walk there in about 5 minutes). It's just a vibrant scene.
The Old Shack is just Strathmere. It's a down home breakfast place with real cooking and super-friendly atmosphere. The summer locals hang there and sometimes use the trivial pursuit cards on the counter to start chitchatting. Although our kids tend to destroy the place, Stef, the owner has always been gracious towards them. They have outdoor picnic benches and is the closest place to get a cup of coffee. It is about a seven minute walk from our place.

I haven't been to Mildred's in a while, but I remember having a pretty decent meal there when a large group from my family came to visit. It's a little dressier...comparable to La Fontana.

Parks & Nature
It's a great place to take a walk through the dunes or along the inlet beaches. It's just across the bridge from Strathmere - and the ride there, whether by bike or auto, has always been stunning and interesting.

It's a ride to the Acme, but it is the closest place. During the summer I would stay way far way on weekends. It gets crazy!

For your fishing needs, Whale Creek has it all. They have bait, tackle, fishing rods...everything. Morgan, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable of the back bay and knows the good fishing spots. You can rent boats, kayaks, get guided eco-tours and be greeted by Bert and Porter, two friendly dogs that roam around the property wagging their tail. When hanging on the back deck - the wildlife is stunning.

On the south end of Bayview, there is a public boat ramp We often ride our bikes down there and watch the sunset or let the kids play on the dock. I often take some of the kids fishing there and bird watching.
