I love the Sampleroom because they have something for everybody. My BF loves their burger. I love their Saturday and Sunday brunch till 3pm. Small plates or large meals with some vegetarian options. They also have a good cocktail menu if you want to have just a drink and a snack at the bar. nice patio and you can walk down to the Mississippi River and check out the sunset after dinner.

Hai Hai is an ultra hip restaurant with a menu based on Vietnamese street food-only 3 blocks away. I love their Hanoi sticky Rice bowl. They have lots of cocktails featuring exotic fruits and fresh pressed cane sugar. There might be a wait depending on when you go but you can put your name on the list and they will call you when your seat is ready. There is an ice cream and crepe place across the street for dessert! If you end up needing to wait and the Hai Hai bar is full, you can put your name on the list and have a drink at Grumpy's bar across the street while you wait. I have also added my name to the list and walked back home to wait for them to call.

This is my favorite Coffeeshop, but it's more of a walk-up place. Worker owned spot- full of lots of locals and regulars. There is wifi and a small patio out back. Fair trade coffee and we love their cold press.

This is a great place to get work done during the day. Most regulars are working on their computers or having meetings. They have a solid lunch menu using fresh and organic ingredients. I love their Chicken Chili- its very filling for a good price. They also have an amazing collection of local pottery and art for sale. It is located in a building with many art studios.

Delicious vegan ice cream and crepes- 3 short blocks away. I am not vegan, but I really love their savory crepes and ice cream. They have a vegan "ham and cheese" crepe that is so DELICIOUS. The meat and cheese is made by a vegan butcher shop called the Herbivorous butcher. They also have sweet crepes and can add any of their ice creams to your crepe. They also have coffee.

This place is so cool, I couldn't even figure out how to open the front door when I went there. They have since added a handle for not cool people. Young Joni has a great space and great wood fired pizza in really tasty combos. It is not cheap, but foodie people love it. A Vikings player goes here once a week- Sorry- I don't know his name. Make a reservation. If you cant get a reservation, you can try to get table by waiting. They have a back bar where you can hang while you wait. You can also go to the back bar for a nightcap! You walk down the alley next to building and there is a red neon line. There is a rusty door near the neon to get in.

NE Minneapolis used to be home to a predominately Polish community. Many of the churches still have large congregations of Polish members from all over the metro area. When they come to NE for church, they allllll go to Sikora's. This is a great deli with fresh meats, smoked fish, and Pierogi. They also have Polish food direct from Poland. My dad loves their sausage and fish. I love their doughnuts and poppy seed pastries. The owners are very friendly!

Jax Cafe is a classic steakhouse from the 1930s 3 blocks from my apartment. They have expensive fancy steak and old school cocktails in a beautifully decorated building and excellent unionized waitstaff. They have a Sunday brunch buffet for $26.95 per person from 10-3pm. I am a nerd and I love this museum about the history of how Grain built Minneapolis. It is in a former flour factory so you can see some of the abandoned equipment and learn about how the factories were powered by the Mississippi River. Lots of interactive exhibits for the whole family! if you are a 1000% pure nerd, you can also check out the lock and dam center across the street. The area around this Museum is nice so you can walk around and look at the River and the Stone Arch Bridge. In the summer, (Saturdays May-October from 8-1pm) there is a Mill City Farmers Market, so you could have breakfast at the market and then head to the museum. That is basically my dream day.
