One day, the trail is planned to stretch 8 to 10 miles to connect the city of Kings Mountain, Crowders Mountain State Park, Kings Mountain State Park, Kings Mountain National Military Park, the Overmountain Victory Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. It's currently part of a regional trail network called the Carolina Thread Trail, which will link 15 counties across North and South Carolina. Parking and Trail Access Parking is available at the trailhead about a half-mile south of downtown Kings Mountain at 807 S. Battleground Avenue on the corner of Quarry Road.
