A local guide to great food!
A great spot for a new take on traditional pastry and snack to enjoy on their sunny cedar deck. Zoe was the pastry chef at the Black Rock resort before opening her own place! This is where we get your granola! Great for breakfast and lunch and they are also licensed. A local favourite!

Nelly loves this place for breakfast and lunch, as it gives you all the healthy plant-based options, both sweet and savoury! Great concept and pretty successful. Amazing selection of hot and cold beverages. Try the mushroom hot chocolate with a salty caramel bar or a beetroot-rose latte.

Very decent beer selection and a carnivores heaven. Very lively in the evening but they also have a back deck. Francois the owner is a neat guy and they take pride in what they do.

Heather is a friend of ours. She and her husband carefully roast the beans in town and they won't disappoint! There might be a wait in the morning as they are quite popular! They also carry some bread from our artisan bakery friends 'Summit Bread' in Tofino!

Best fish'n'ships in town. They have an indoor area for those rainy days. We always get the lingcod instead of the salmon. Best fish for that sort of thing.

Superb spot for your lunch and dinner. Make sure to sit out back if there is room to soak in that sun! The owner is the former chef of the Long Beach Lodge and the historical building used to be the officer's casino.

Best fine whining and dining in town. Chef Warren used to work at the Wickaninnish Inn when I did too. Fine human and great chef and we are stoked to have stolen him from Tofino (collectively that is). RESERVATIONS RESERVATIONS!

A friend of mine who was a fishing guide swore by this somewhat secretive location. There us a lure shop/fishing supply that serve a wicket espresso. Apparently they imported a machine directly from Italy and the local fisher boys want to keep it all for themselves!

Interesting spot right ON the water. Like to go there for a greasy fix and beer when its sunny. Not so nice inside, but a true 'harboury' atmosphere. Beware of the steep ramp leading down to it at low tide!

The very best pizza in town hands down. They import their tomatoes from Italy and use a wood fired stone oven for that authentic taste. Call ahead to take out and yes, they are cash only. Abbondanza cheese is my favourite inexpensive choice. One pizza 'can' feed two.

Local European-infused standing (imbiss) lunch place with a daily menu. The local trades go there for lunch for a reason. Pretty good selection of European delicatessen like smoked sausages etc.

These guys not only roast their own coffee, but make delicious inexpensive pastry and soups for lunch. Not as hip as the popular places, but top quality. Made with love and we go there frequently to get a snack for the beach on the way out. Open summers only. The cinnamon buns are otherworldly!

Its the local resort, but the quality is hit and miss. Good for a scenic lunch (mesmerizing view) but there are much better options for some fine whining and dining.

The best way to soak in the vibe on Chesterman Beach while having a beverage. They also offer beach chairs, so its a win right there! Oh and did I mention the open fireplace! PERFECT in the storm-watching season!

It's the Wick - do I need to say more? But make reservations! Stunning views too - They also used to have microphones outside to pipe the breaking weaves right into your dinner ambience (not sure if they still do). Very attentive to detail, best service in Tofino hands-down.

Ok, the food is very good as it should - Chef Nutting is serious about food and used to be the head chef of the Wickaninnish Inn. The staff tho can be pretty pretentious and attitudey. Whatever you read in the magazines are to be taken with a few grains of salt, as the investor gas friends in the publishing industry. You need reservations to enjoy the 'upstairs' whereas the downstairs pub is first come first serve.

The owner Ron (hat) might be insane, but his joint makes the best sushi in both towns. Make sure to get a seat outside out back. Weird and wonderful! I just love the Dynamite roll!
