Food Scene
This is one of our favourite restaurants. In fact The Times featured it in their "Twenty secret restaurants that foodies love". In Summer book an outside table and people watch the tourists on The Circus.

Now that this place has been named the UK's best fish and chip shop its hardly a secret find anymore! Always ask the waiters for their top tips on what to have that night.

Its our nearest Indian. Fantastic food and really friendly staff. At one point we would go at least once a fortnight. And they allow you to bring your own booze so a great budget option. They also deliver so check out their takeaway menu.

This isn't just in here because its a maximum of ten paces away! It also does one of the best Sunday Roasts around. On any other night we highly recommend their calamari.

This is a great pub with a little beer garden just a couple of minutes walk from here. They do great beers and steak nights - but our real reason for including them is that in the mornings they are open from 9am: they do fab coffee and you can have free toast and jam when you order a hot drink! Usually more peaceful than the other cafe options at this time of the morning.

Drinks & Nightlife
To visit a pub whose pub interior is so unspoiled its officially now of “outstanding historic interest”, stroll down Guinea Lane and at the bottom you’ll find The Star. The pub purposefully has no music, no fancy food menu and no pool table – but you can be sure of a great locally brewed ale and a game of shove halfpenny. It even has a ‘death row’ bench for its elderly regulars!

Hidden under the road on George Street (max 5 minute walk from here!), this place has the some of the best cocktails this side of Havana. Great garden at the back and if you make it between 5pm and 8pm its two for one on all cocktails.

This pub has legendary status in Bath. Historically a great music venue, it was saved from closure by being bought by a co-operative of local residents and punters (including rock stars Robert Plant and Peter Gabriel). Pop down on a weekend for live music or on a Tuesday night to join in their board games night!

A smart, sophisticated venue stuffed with comfy seats and vintage knick-knacks. Tricky to find but a treasure trove of quirky decor when you do - you walk in and feel like you've stumbled upon one of the Bath's best-kept secrets!

Arts & Culture
A great way to find out what it was really like to live in a house like ours in Georgian times. Great for any age (we've taken our mothers and our 4 year old - all loved it!) and the fact that they have guides in almost every room means you get a really personalised experience.

Parks & Nature
Just a short walk away we have the best park in Bath. In the Summer the lawn below the Royal Crescent is sprawling with sun-worshippers and a great spot for people watching or a picnic (the bit below the 'ha-ha' or low wall that is - the section above is reserved for residents of the Royal Crescent). Every Sunday (around 2pm) in the Summer the bandstand has a band - great free entertainment! If you've got kids - keep walking through the park and following the signs you should come to a fantastic play area which contains an adventure playground suitable for all ages and a newly refurbished skate park. This area also has a cafe. Above the play area, from Spring through to Autumn in the early evening they launch hot air balloons. To plan a ride in advance visit Virgin Balloons. But just watching the balloons take off is relaxing entertainment enough for us! Close to this area are the botanical gardens which although small, are a great visit whatever the weather.

Just beautiful - and one of the most romantic spots in Bath. If you have the time do the skyline walk across the city.
