Sightseeing
Do NOT miss a tour with Captain Billy as he brings you up close and personal with the wonders of our wetlands. Billy truly loves the area he shows off and will point out scenes and wildlife you might never notice but will always remember. Alligators too.

Jugs is almost the end of the road and is right at the edge of the levee. Jugs is mostly just a boat launch however we recommend making the drive just to see all of the commercial fishing that dominates that area. Things can seem kinda messy but its life on and near the water. If you see a shrimp boat coming in, don't be shy about asking if they have any fresh shrimp. Folks are friendly and will be interested to know where you are from.

Arts & Culture
This is the best place to get an authentic understanding of what it means to be Cajun. After your visit cross the pedestrian bridge to Billelos for lunch. If you;re lucky it will be their fried chicken day.

Ardoyne is one of the most beautiful antebellum homes you will see. Besides being stunning, it is occupied and lovingly cared for by the same family since it was constructed in the 1800's. Wonderful hosts and not to be missed.

Essentials
The Dollar General is 10 minutes back towards town and is like our own Dularge Walmart. It doesn't have everything but it has alot including food items and even cold beer. Everything might not be top shelf but it works for us. For a great local grocery store, we recommend Rouse's on St Charles Street in Houma,

Everything Else
We love the marina at Falgout Canal. Its not much to look at but its a non stop hub of boats coming and going of all types. Our favorite thing to do is to get a hamburger from the grill (grill closes at 2) and a cold beverage and sit on the deck. Easy, cheap and fun.
