  • Excellent accommodation. Everything we needed for our stay with our dog Teddy. Spotlessly clean and very well equipt with lots of lovely personal touches. The woodburner kept us wonderfully cosy. Lots of local info. We had a lovely walk at Ripley Castle and a delicious brunch in Harrogate.

  • Excellent location - very close to the A1 and very convenient for Harrogate, York etc. Fabulous accommodation, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Really enjoyed the stay and intend to revisit. Would definitely recommend.

  • Lovely relaxing space, hard to believe it's literally metres away from the A1! Would recommend!

  • The cow she'd was a really comfortable place and the décor was stylish. We'd definitely stay again.

  • A lovely home which is very welcoming, bright and spacious. Great location for Wetherby and the surrounding towns and easy to find.

  • A homely welcome, with beautiful surroundings, everything you could need for a get away. The barn is lovely and comfortable, cosy and clean! Christina came to check we were ok after checking in and made sure we had everything we needed. Elsa (the dog) came to say hello and meet our 3 dogs. She’s a very friendly dog and welcomed us as well. The surrounding areas have lots of places to walk, despite storm Dennis trying to ruin our weekend we went out into the fields and mud! Highly recommend The Cow Shed for anyone with or without dogs who just enjoy the countryside. Or even for a day or two at the races. Thanks for having us :-)

  • My wife, Daughter and family stayed for a long weekend in February 2020. The Cowshed was easy to find - seconds from the A1 in a rural setting. The property very much lived up to expectations - being clean and very well equipped. A good selection of kitchen essentials were provided - as were bathroom essentials. Care and consideration had been given to us including a toddler in our party. The property is ideally situated in as much that Wetherby is accessible within five minutes and York around thirty minutes. Thank you Christina and Johnnie.

Welcome to Horbutt Barn, a cosy and completely self-contained Grade II listed space ideal for couples, located at the end of a quiet lane in an idyllic rural spot. The brick-built barn is detached from the main house guaranteeing privacy in a mature garden setting. We are just 20 minutes from York and Harrogate by car or train, and 45 minutes to Leeds. The pretty market town of Wetherby is 5 minutes' drive by car, with the A1(M) motorway a similar distance.
The barn is over two levels, with the upstairs accessed by a set of return stairs. The bed upstairs is a double equipped with memory foam mattress and Tempur Cloud pillows for a great night's sleep, along with White Company bed linen and fluffy towels. We can supply a travel cot with mattress / bedding, high chair, baby bath and baby cutlery if you are travelling with little ones too. The shower room is equipped with a vanity unit and hot water is supplied internally: the hot water downstairs comes from the main house and so it may take a little time to warm up. Downstairs the property is equipped with free wi-fi, TV, DVD player, fridge, hob, combi-microwave oven and fully-equipped kitchen. There is a also a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules for those (like me) that need a regular caffeine fix. The TV is fully tuned with a range of freeview channels in addition to some board games and quizzes. There is a farmhouse table that comfortably seats 4, and a sofabed that is suitable for little people. We can supply additional bedding on request if you would like to rent the property for 4 rather than 2-just get in touch when booking and let us know. There is underfloor heating in the barn to keep things cosy! Parking is on the right immediately inside the gate to the grounds of Horbutt House.
We're spoilt with our location at very end of a quiet lane on the River Nidd, close to an area of Special Scientific Interest which is just a stone's throw away, and perfect for an evening stroll. Depending on the time of year you visit, there is also the possibility of an abundance of apples and plums from the orchard which will make an appearance in the fruitbowl! The North York Moors are just 12 miles distant with the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty even closer. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also within easy driving distance, as are the picturesque North Yorkshire towns of Easingwold and Boroughbridge. There are historic buildings, abbeys, castles and stately homes in abundance as well as the great Yorkshire outdoors to explore. Cyclists will find some testing climbs and sweeping descents on the Moors and hills nearby. The Black Swan at Oldstead is only 40 minutes through the lanes by car, and has recently been voted the best restaurant in the world by TripAdvisor (URL HIDDEN)
  • Great place to stay in a lovely location with everything you need! The barn is self contained and cosy, with underfloor heating upstairs and a very comfy bed! Lovely local area, Jo and Alex gave good recommendations for walks and they were very hospitable with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this as a relaxing place to stay and we would love to return!

A beautiful renovated Grade two listed 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom Georgian farm house set in the picturesque village of Askham Richard, just 6 miles from the centre of York yet only 1 mile from the A64 providing easy access to attractions such as Castle Howard and York Designer Outlet
The house is ideal for large groups and family gatherings (we dont take groups looking for a party house like Hen, Stag or Races groups). In the heart of the home is the large light kitchen with an impressive sash window looking onto the village duck pond. This is an exquisite room featuring a sleek white granite island and opening up into a large dining room with 12 person dining table making it perfect for family gatherings and dinner parties alike. The breakfast kitchen is well-stocked with all the cooking equipment, crockery and glassware you’ll need for every occasion and a full gas range master providing plenty of cooking space. There is a tall fridge/freezer in addition to a normal under counter fridge & wine cooler. A dishwasher is also provided. There is an impressive formal lounge with three large sofas, a large TV, a DVD player and a supply of DVD's for those family movie nights. There is also more traditional entertainment in the form of books and board games. In addition to the formal lounge is a snug, this sophisticated room has double doors into the study and French doors opening onto the beautiful rear courtyard, which is the perfect backdrop to those special celebrations. There are 5 large bedrooms in Prospect House. The master bedroom looks out on the village green, has its own ‘his and hers’ walk in wardrobe and bathroom with two twin head showers and a roll top bath. The other 2 bedrooms on the first floor both have private access to bathrooms, one with a shower and one with bath and walk in shower. The loft bedrooms are vast rooms with exposed beams, one with a super king size bed and the other with a double bed and two double sofa beds. They share a bathroom with a shower. There is a fully stocked gym with Runner, Rower bike and weights rack as well as soft matting for yoga. Externally we have a 6 person hot tub which is available for the stay but must only be used until 10pm which is one of our strict rules at Prospect House There is much to enjoy outside this fabulous property which is located in the centre of the village, has its own gardens and courtyard and overlooks the duck pond and village green Wi-Fi is available throughout the house
The Property is set in the centre of a small village of around 60 homes and a couple of hundred yards from the small local Public House called the Rose & Crown were you can get a pint for as cheap as £1.60. If you want food there are two public house to choose from in walking distance one in Askham Byran, The Nags head and one in Bilbrough, The Three Hares in Bilbrough with a 4.5 rating on Trip advisor Head into York for the day or night just 20 minutes drive or a 25 minute bus journey (the buses run every hour) or a £15 cab fare. The jewel in North Yorkshire’s crown, I think York is one of the best break destinations in England. It was Voted ‘Best UK City’ by the Telegraph’s travel section in 2008 and York is a favorite amongst even the most seasoned of travelers. This ancient walled city has been the North’s spiritual capital for 2000 years, but that’s not say it is stuck in the past; York’s affluent young student population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. In this bustling city centre is the famous York Minster, the Shambles, boat trips on the River Ouse, The Jorvik Centre and lots of fantastic restaurants and bars. And what’s more, it really is a year-round location. Summer days are spent lounging in one of the many gorgeous parks throughout the city and in the Winter York comes alive with shop windows sparkling in the dusky light
  • The photos of this house just don’t do it justice! It’s absolutely beautiful and James was a great host! Perfect location just 15 mins from York centre and situated in a gorgeous little village. Communication with James has been great and he has always got back to me really quickly. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!

    Gemma2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect from start to finish! There was a group of 12 of us and there was more than enough space. It was warm and cosy, such a lovely space. 15 min drive to York, but such a lovely setting in front of the duck pond. Highly recommend ☺️

    Faye2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house which is wonderfully presented. It is clean, luxurious, warm, classy and traditional. Such a lovely place to stay, the village and house are both amazing. Thank you, James.

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous stay for 12 people. The surrounding village is beautiful and the view of the duck pond from the kitchen window is very idyllic and relaxing. The photos of the house are beautiful but they don’t prepare you for the absolute wow factor you experience when you first walk through the door. If you’re looking for a lovely peaceful getaway with a group of family and friends with a bit of a luxurious feel, this is definitely the house for you. James was an excellent host and always quick to respond to any queries I had. Thanks for a fantastic stay, I will definitely be recommending to other friends and family!

  • Prospect House is an absolute jewel in the AirBnB crown. It’s near to York (20 mins’ drive) but in a beautiful small village by the side of a duck pond. The house itself far exceeds expectations - everything is there. The bedrooms are huge and warm, light and airy and well appointed with such comfortable beds - we slept so well! Fantastic en suites in the three rooms on the first floor and a nice bathroom to share for the two rooms on the top floor (huge attic rooms). Downstairs is a huge kitchen diner with a utility room with extra fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer. The other side of the large hall is a lovely sitting room with views across the duck pond and a music room beyond that with more seating, a piano and a study. As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s a fully equipped gym above the garage - with rowing machine, exercise bike, punch bag etc! We stayed for a birthday weekend and could happily have stayed much much longer! James was an excellent host - communicative when needed but left us to ourselves as well, with the proviso that we should let him know if we had any problems. It couldn’t have been better. Highly recommended.

    Cath2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in an ideal setting. Perfectly situated for walks (we walked a circular route to Bilbrough), very close to York (less than £10 for a taxi) and the village itself is picturesque. The house is very well kitted out, we very happily holed up there for 4 days and had everything we needed, and a hot tub! Highly recommended.

    Holly2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This large and stylish house is amazing and the location perfect for a vacation just outside York. We spent a wonderful Christmas here and all the seasonal decorations and attention to our visit was exceptional. We would highly recommend the property - is beautifully and comfortably furnished. James was the perfect host and did everything to make our stay special. Thank you and we look forward to doing it again soon!

  • Highly recommend this house. We stayed for a weekend as 5 couples and there was more than enough room. The surroundings are pretty and the interior of the house has been really well done. Would stay again!

Victorian house in lovely leafy location in historic riverside market town. Main front double room overlooks Sandringham Park. Includes double bed with memory mattress plus double sofabed. An additional single underbed can be erected if required.
This is one of three rooms I have listed on Airbnb within the same house, so you may encounter other people staying in any of the other 2 rooms, unless you book all 3 rooms of course. Lovely leafy location in historic riverside market town. Double room at front overlooks Sandringham Park. Main front bedroom includes double bed with memory mattress plus double sofabed. An additional single underbed can be erected if required with comfortable mattress. There is a Hauck travel cot as your disposal too which is ideal for young children and babies. A second rear room is sometimes available. Do ask if required for confirmation. This additional room has a real single bed plus underbed which pulls up to the same level. The rear room can sleep 2 people comfortably. The living room is also available with 2 additional single air beds if required (see other listing). House is eclectic in style. Kitchen is available for use. One shared bathroom with electric shower. Located near major cities including York, Harrogate and Leeds all within 20 minutes by car. We are the gateway to The North York Moors, The Dales and within a couple of hours from The Lake District. A1M motorway within 2-5 minutes. Airfield just up the A1. Several international airports within 1-2 hours drive. Nearest is Leeds-Bradford only 15 miles away (20 minutes drive) then Doncaster and Manchester within an hour's drive. Buses from Wetherby bus station to Leeds, Harrogate and York. Late buses run between Leeds and Wetherby and a regular train service operates between Leeds and York, Leeds and Harrogate and Harrogate and York. Wetherby is a lovely historic market town (2 markets per week) set by the River Wharfe, complete with ducks and bird life in abundance. Ducks are often see waddling through the town! Great riverside and wooded walks for both humans and ducks! Pleasant quiet and leafy neighbourhood. Plenty of pubs, cafes and good restaurants. Recommended is Filmore & Union Cafe in the Market Place (especially for breakfast). Alternatively a good Italian restaurant is across the road from this cafe called Sant' Angelo's, which is large and often has excellent live music tribute bands and singers entertainment .. heart and soul of the town. Bus station, library with tourist information, plus Post Office and supermarkets and other shops including good butchers and bakery all within 5 minutes walk. Good brass bands pipe up on a Sunday throughout the summer usually 2pm-4pm. On-street parking. Park opposite with splendid playground. Wi-Fi connection. Bathroom has an electric shower. There is currently no central heating but there are electric heaters in the room and an open fire is usually lit in the dining room when I am around. Great Italian restaurant only 4 minutes walk plus great quality gastro café in Market Place. Fine fish & chip shops and two late opening service stations nearby only 2 minutes walk.
Picturesque river market town with good road connections (car & bus) providing an ideal central base for exploring the whole of Yorkshire and the north of England.

An opportunity to stay in Brook Hall, an Edwardian Mansion built in 1835 giving you the real English country house experience. Four comfortable bedrooms, guest kitchen, sitting room and two bathrooms are available in this historic house overlooking beautiful gardens in the village of Wighill. The house is just 20 minutes from York, Leeds and Harrogate with far reaching views across the Yorkshire countryside.
The accommodation consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and sitting room across two floors. On the first floor, there are three very comfortable and recently refurbished bedrooms, the blue room with a king size bed, the cream room with twin beds (with a basin) and the green room has a single bed. There is also a WC and a separate bathroom with a very large and deep bath and basin, with a far reaching view across the Yorkshire countryside from the bath. On the second floor, there is a small but equipped kitchen to enable you to prepare your own meals and drinks. There is a fridge freezer accessed from a small door in the kitchen, together with a cooker, microwave, sink and washing machine. Also on this floor is sitting/dining room to eat in and to relax. The yellow room containing a king size bed and feature window is also on this floor, alongside a bathroom with a bath and a shower, basin and WC. A Z bed can be put up in one of the rooms for an 8th person. There is lots of space. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is plenty of space to park at no extra cost - ideal for just you or a family or group of up to 8. All bookings of however many people have the entire accommodation to themselves.
Brook Hall, Wighill, LS24 8BG is just 20 minutes drive from historic York or bustling Leeds or beautiful Harrogate and exactly half way between London and Edinburgh. Wetherby Racecourse is 5 minutes away, as is the A1. Castle Howard is 30 minutes and Harewood House is 15 minutes. It is the ideal location to explore this part of Yorkshire and beyond and to stay for local weddings at Wighill Priory Cottages, Rudding Park, Allerton Park, Hornington Manor, Hazelwood Park Hotel, the Normans etc. The excellent White Swan pub in the village, serving excellent food and good beer, is a short walk from the house.
  • We had an excellent stay in the annex to Brook Hall. The space was absolutely ideal for our needs, in beautiful surroundings, and Edward was a very welcoming host. Note, there are lots of steps in the property as it is spread over a number of levels. Bed linen, towels and kitchen facilities were all very clean. Property was within good travelling distance to our chosen destinations of York and Castle Howard. We would definitely visit again!

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Edward’s beautiful home. Fast accurate communication, and a really kind gesture to allow us to check-in several hours early. Highly recommend.

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay in Edward's marvellous place and it certainly won't be our last. Edward is a thoughtful host and the space was perfectly suited to our family of 7. With its own dedicated entrance, top quality tasteful furnishings/facilities, and lovely countryside views, this was a treat to stay in (again) and we look forward to returning in future. Thank you Edward!

    Martin2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant place to stay, very clean and brilliant communication! Highly recommend!

    Peter2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay here, good size rooms. Living space and small kitchen upstairs. Beautiful gardens, we saw squirrels 🐿. Love the white swan for a meal.

    Hub2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The rooms are located on the second and third floors of the manor house. They are suitable for large groups, but many stairs must be used. If there are large luggage, it is best to prepare for the climb. The appearance of the mansion is very beautiful, in addition to the large green oil lawn in front, there are tennis courts and farms, and there are quite a few local styles. The interior of the house is clean and tidy, but sometimes spiders crawl in and need to be cleaned manually. The first floor of the house is an office, and the working day may be a bit noisy. The homeowner seems to be busy at work, there is no free time to talk face to face, but the room is basically well-appointed and intimate, the overall feeling is very good.

  • My jaw dropped as soon as I walked into Luci’s Boston Spa retreat! Marble flooring, beautiful bathroom and cloakroom! And stunning kitchen and a very comfortable sitting room! We were blown away by how nice the house was! I don’t think the photos quite do it justice! Once we got the heating going the house was very cosy! It was also great to be able to use Sky and watch some Sky movies each night. The garden is huge and in the summer I can imagine would make a perfect place for a little lunch time picnic! The street is quiet and peaceful! It was easy to find on our satnav! Luci was so helpful giving us hints and tips for the local area even letting us know the postcodes for local shops! She definitely went the extra mile and we were so so impressed! We will definitely be looking to stay again in the future!

A Stylish and spacious detached house with private parking in a quiet location with easy access to Leeds, York and Harrogate. Tadcaster, a market town, has three breweries, a lovely church, wine bars, restaurants and a swimming pool. There are many lovely walks along the river to Boston Spa, Stutton, Grimston Park and beyond!
The guest suite occupies the entire top floor of the house and consists of a double bed in a bright, spacious, airy bedroom with a separate bathroom. You would also have the sole use of the sitting room on this floor again a lovely light airy room with tv and WiFi. There is also a kettle for tea/coffee making facilities. This room is not set up for extra beds and purely a private space for my guests to enjoy if requiring their own privacy. You would also have use of the ‘snug’ downstairs which again has WiFi and tv. A lovely comfortable room to relax in.

Jenny and John, were there to meet us on arrival, and greeted us like family. The breakfast was amazing, and set us up nicely for our trip home. A truely amazing couple, in a truely amazing place to stay, in a wonderful area. Very highly recommended.

Double bedroom, cotton sheets, in a quiet cul-de-sac close to the centre of historical market town Wetherby. Transport links to Leeds, Harrogate and York and close to the A1. Self service breakfast provided. A second bedroom is also available for 2-3 people. Check in after 5pm. Three smoke alarms and one carbon dioxide alert. TV. Bathroom next to the bedroom, almost en suite and for the exclusive use of all guests. I have my own bathroom. You are only renting a room in my home, it's not a hotel or B&B and doesn't have those facilities.
Wetherby is a lovely market town with everything one could possibly want including riverside walks and a swimming pool. Very close to The Engine Shed - 5 to 10 minute walk away.

Our recently converted milking parlour in the heart of the York plain is a unique one bed, self contained tiny house! With easy access to York and the surrounding area, it is a perfect place for a weekend away or a longer stay for business, retreat, escape, whatever you like. There is a bus that runs from just outside that goes straight to York. Parking is available on the road and there is a shop 2 minutes walk down the road. No pets or children please (though you are welcome to play with our cat Albert, he likes the company.)
The Potting Shed is a loving conversion, bringing modern conveniences but retaining a vintage charm. We made the conversion in 2018 using as much of the original building and materials as possible. It is unique and extremely cosy, with fantastic natural light and an inviting atmosphere. Everything you need is here
Tockwith is a peaceful village with miles of fields and walks in every direction. It's a gentle place to stay but you can easily get to the hustle and bustle of York city centre by car or bus

  • Ann was friendly and accommodating. She went out of her way to drop us at the party we were attending and still served us breakfast after the checkout time. Although Ann is respectful of your privacy, I would of appreciated a lock on the bedroom door as there is also other guests staying at the same time.

    Mia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's home offers a warm welcome in a very quiet yet central area of the town. The room is warm and bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom is only a few steps away and has a good, powerful shower over the bath. Breakfast offers a generous variety of cereals, as well as croissants/brioche and yoghurt. Very enjoyable. I'm hoping to re-book for my next trip to Wetherby in the near future.

This 19C Farm labourers cottage is now a stylishly furnished and comfortable home, perfect for couples and pets. Downstairs is a large sofa for lounging in front of the TV and fire. Cook up a storm in the well equipped galley kitchen before climing the stairs to the modern bathroom, relax in a bubble bath ( shower too) before collapsing into the kingsize bed with feather duvet and crisp white cotton sheets.
The cottage sits on the edge of the conservation village of Clifford in Yorkshire. The beautiful limestone village has a drinking pub and another with food in Bramham just down the hill, also an excellent fish and chip shop. Five minutes drive away is Boston Spa which has lots of cafes, local shops and restaurants to explore. .Wetherby, a vibrant flower filled market town ( market day Thursday) with its famous race course is only three miles away. There is countryside all around, so perfect for dog walkers.

  • A lovely clean, well equipped cottage with everything you could need. A lovely welcoming cake and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. The place was very clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. It is ideally placed, just off the A1 but in a rural setting. Boston Spa was a 5 minute drive away and is a smart village. We ate twice at Tom Foolery, a quirky bar that does homemade pizza and up market Burgers and once at Stew and Oyster, which does various stews and oysters!! Both on the main, pretty high street, good value and dog and family friendly. Leeds, Harrogate and York all in easy reach. Ideal as a base to stay while dropping and settling our daughter at Leeds Uni. We will return!

The Granary is a lovely property hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Boston Spa and Tadcaster, but only minutes from both. A lovely rural location with lots of stunning scenery around the house. The ensuite room is private and deluxe, with full facilities including Sky Q. Excellent links to Leeds, York (the races!) and Harrogate - all about 25 minutes away and we are 10 minutes from Hazlewood Castle and other popular wedding venues. Just perfect for a weekend in a lovely part of Yorkshire!
A former Granary within a working farm - lots of character in a semi-rural location just moments away from Tadcaster and Boston Spa.
Semi-rural in a stunning part of Yorkshire. Boston Spa is a lovely village with lots of cafes and restaurants for a night out. Tadcaster is a town full of character set around the brewery.
  • A great peaceful location with a very friendly family, every member made us feel welcome. The room is separate from the rest of the house and has great amenities with a comfortable bed, clean new bathroom and a tv with Sky Q on. Our only negative is that we could only stay one night on this occasion but will consider Alison's for future, longer trips we plan to have.

  • This is a stunning en suite double bedroom, in a beautiful house, located in a breath taking part of the country. Alison is very quick to reply to all communication, met us in person and offered us all sorts of local advice, from where to grad a lovely supper, the best way to get to our next destination and plenty of tips about the City of York and it's university. Do please stay in the gorgeous Airbnb, you will not be disappointed in any way.

    Rebecca2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Granary is a delightful home, at the top end of a small hamlet just outside Tadcaster, where you will be greeted warmly by a very special family. Once an old granary, the character of the stone built property has been retained whilst an additional room, which provides the Air BnB guest room, is relatively new and spacious for a single person or couple. The en-suite bathroom was sparkling clean and the bed comfortable. The accommodation is immaculately clean. A staircase leads up to the bedroom en-suite from the far side of the kitchen giving seclusion and privacy from the rest of the household. Breakfast was delicious, and no expense spared, when smoked salmon and scrambled egg were provided - as I don’t eat meat. Walks out from the property are plentiful and the views around gorgeous. I was stopping overnight on my way further north but would have very happily stayed longer. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend ‘The Granary’ as a place to stay for its comfort, position and very special hosts.

    Elizabeth2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was a super host and could not have helped us more during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend anyone to stay at this property. • Alison’s home and her family are enchanting. They made us feel like home. Grateful hospitality. The room with bathroom are in an independent extension with privacy. It’s very stylish and nice. We felt very comfortable. Place near York and national parks. Highly recommended. Thank you Alison !

Snowdrop Cottage is a gorgeous beamed Victorian mid terrace cottage in the Historic conservation village of Clifford, West Yorkshire, close to Bramham, Boston Spa and Wetherby. It’s only 5 minutes from the A1 so easy access to The Dales, Fountains Abbey, Harrogate, Leeds ( bus from the door) and York. The cottage has many original features, old doors, feature fireplaces, stone hearth and log burning stove. There is a tiny dining area and a light bright kitchen with a Belfast sink and oak worktops. Wooden floors glow throughout the ground floor. Upstairs is a rose patterned single bedroom and a large master bedroom with a Kingsize black metal bed frame, white painted floors, snowy sheets and feather duvets and pillows. As you snuggle in you can see views of spectacular open countryside. A modern bathroom has a shower over the bath.
    The whole place
Its close to Boston Spa, a lovely Georgian Village with lively cafes, bars restaurants, hairdressers, shops churches and a garage. Wetherby is 3 miles away a bustling market town, market day Thursday. The cottage is equidistant to Leeds Harrogate and York. A bus to Wetherby Harrogate and Leeds goes from just outside.
  • Lovely compact cottage in a well placed location. Easy access to York, Wetherby and Harrogate etc by car. Excellent to Leeds and Harrogate also runs from pretty much outside the cottage so of you want to avoid queuing to get into either of these places, or costly parking, the bus is very convenient. Kerbside parking on the road but never had any difficulty parking either right outside the cottage or a few paces away. Double bed was very comfortable and the shower over the bath was always strong with a good supply of hot water off the boiler. Julie was very quick to reply to messages and getting into the cottage was easy, as was departure.

  • A lovely, cosy cottage in the wonderful village of Clifford. I lived in Clifford for many years and this was a real home from home, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! A great space for a couple or a couple and a child. Thoroughly dog friendly as well. Clifford is brilliantly located for Leeds, Harrogate and York and both the dales and moors. A great location in the fabulous county of Yorkshire. We very much hope to be back, and use both the cottage and the wonderful local fish and chip shop in Clifford! Highly recommend.

The holiday cottage at Nidd View is all you could wish for from a village holiday rental, the perfect mix of cosy charm and traditional character with all the modern comfort and convenience of your own home. Located part way between the historic city of York and the much-loved Yorkshire towns of Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby, and Boroughbridge, and just a few miles from the A1M motorway, it’s the perfect spot for exploring North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales, or the North York Moors.
The village of Cattal is very accessible by road or rail, with its own station on the Leeds-Harrogate-York line about a mile from the cottage. It also has an excellent public house with a reputation for great food and there are plenty of beautiful country trails to enjoy when you are ready to walk off your lunch. The cottage is set in a quiet spot just off the main street of the village, with private driveway parking. There is a lovely south-facing sun terrace at the front, looking out over the gardens to the fields beyond, absolute bliss. Fully renovated in 2019, but still retaining lots of character, the cottage has a wood-burning stove, timber beams, and exposed brickwork. The front porch opens into an open-plan living space, with a sitting area centred on the large traditional fireplace, then on to a modern, dining kitchen with plenty of room for preparing and eating family meals, or for entertaining guests during your stay. The historic city of York is a short drive to the east, the equally historic market town of Knaresborough is a few miles to the west, and the fabulous spa town of Harrogate is about 20 minutes away.
  • A great cottage in a great location, for those visiting York and the surrounding Yorkshire area. Very clean and well appointed. Ken is very communicative and offered tips on local things to do/places to get supplies.

  • Very sweet cottage in a quaint village with good access to lots to see and do. Cottage had everything we needed and was immaculate. Would definitely recommend and stay again if visiting Yorkshire again.

  • Far too short a stay, but perfect! Warm, good location, clean and some extras like coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival!

    Jamie2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this cottage made it a lovely place to stay. It was neat and clean and had everything you could want for a short stay...including very comfy beds with lovely crisp white linen. We particularly enjoyed having the wood burner as it was a chilly weekend. Cattal is a very pretty village in a great spot for visiting York, Harrogate, Wetherby and Knaresborough as well as the surrounding countryside. We had an excellent meal at The Victoria Pub in the village. All in all a great place to stay.

    Beth2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this lovely new Airbnb whilst in Yorkshire for a funeral. It wasn’t a trip we’d been looking forward to and after a long tiring drive this Airbnb was such a welcome treat. The house is very newly decorated to a high standard and the owners had thought of everything (having even put the heating on for our arrival). The beds are really cosy and there’s all the extras we could have thought of needing. Great place, we’d definitely book again - in more happier circumstances.

This is one of three rooms I have listed on Airbnb within the same house. Victorian house in lovely leafy location in historic riverside market town. Rear room with single bed plus pop-up underbed. Room overlooks rear garden with Apple Tree.
This is one of three rooms I have listed on Airbnb within the same house, so you may encounter other people staying in any of the other 2 rooms, unless you book all 3 rooms of course. The space can be seen as a small double room or large single room. Warm, light and airy with a green garden view. There is an open wardrobe plus a small workstation and chair plus an easy chair. I also provide towels. There is a Hauck travel cot at your disposal on request too which is ideal for young children and babies. This room has a real single bed plus underbed which pulls up to the same level. The room can sleep 2 people comfortably and 3 at a push using an additional airbed. The main front bedroom may also be available (see other listing). The living room may also be available with 2 single air beds if required (see other listing). House is eclectic in style. Kitchen is available for use. One shared bathroom with electric shower. There is currently no central heating but there are electric heaters in the room and an open fire is usually lit in the dining room when I am around. Recommended is Filmore & Union Cafe (especially for breakfast) in the Market Place. Bathroom has electric shower.

  • Characterful Victorian house so obviously most of the furniture, decor, fixtures & fittings are also in keeping with this style. I didn’t actually get to meet Paul, but Karen (who was also staying there, longer term) was very kind & hospitable. She was lovely to chat to & even made us both a bacon sandwich & cup of tea in the morning.

Beside an old apple tree in a quiet corner of our traditional working cattle farm you will find this secluded shepherds hut. A cosy cabin which offers luxurious but simple glamping in a quiet village with an award winning pub. All just 5 miles from York and its amazing variety of attractions and 20 miles from Leeds and Harrogate.     It really is the perfect year round retreat.
Our family have farmed at Home Farm since 1948 through 4 generations and we are delighted to share this cute and cosy shepherds hut; very special place; with our guests. On the farm you may see chickens, Sandy the whippet and maybe the odd cow if they come in from the fields. Our main activity is cattle farming and we sell our own beef in our small farm shop, as well as other local farmers meats - you can't beat a firecooked steak from the farm, on the farm. Our shepherds hut is warm and welcoming with an oh so comfy double bed with luxury bed linens and pure wool duvet. So please do come along and enjoy some time in this lovely rural retreat. We look forward to welcoming you.
  • A lovely cosy place to stay! We loved our stay :)

    Sophie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepherds hut was so cosy and filled with lots of lovely little things. There were some thoughtful touches like marshmallows for the fire pit, a bottle of milk in the fridge etc. The heater was left on for us when we got there and it was lovely and warm. I would highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed

  • Really lovely place to stay, simple but really comfortable and cozy (and warm!). Loads of nice touches, and nice and private. Great pub in the village. Perfect for child free getaway!

  • Me and my boyfriend had a lovely stay at Apple Tree Cabin for his birthday. It was super easy to find and the cabin is nice and private away from the shop and camping area. The cabin itself was clean and tidy and Angela had gone to the effort of leaving the radiator on for our arrival so it was nice and warm. I’d told Angela it was my boyfriends birthday and she’d left some lovely balloons and marshmallows which was very thoughtful. Toilets and washing facilities very clean and easy to access. We had a lovely evening inside as the weather wasn’t great but it would be lovely to sit outside and make use of the fire pit in the summer. Great location just 10 mins from York park and ride! Brill stay I would deffo recommend :)

  • What a perfect space for our holiday! This property is a classic style yet modern—contained everything we needed or could have wanted from a drying rack, additional small refrigerator, wood for super (& effective) fireplace/wood-burning stove, lovely dish ware, and plenty of hot water for a bath (while someone in the shower downstairs!) All was clean and the bed upstairs (all we utilized) was incredibly comfortable. Most nice apartments, even small homes we’ve rented, have no counter space or lights, yet plenty here, a spacious & well-lit home in general. Even in February we found walking to shops, pubs, restaurants, etc. quick & easy. Plus the garden was strikingly landscaped visible from several windows, even without all in full bloom. Access is well thought out with great directions and owners were most attentive. We will return without hesitation!

  • The Barn is beautiful. It's spotlessly clean and spacious with everything you could possibly need. Brian is such a lovely, kind person. The mince pies and shortbread, homemade jam and marmalade were all delicious. We will definitely try to book again whenever we visit our family and friends in Yorkshire. We would have liked to have stayed longer.

  • We needed to come back to Wetherby and it was a no brainer to rebook The Barn for another stay. A great home from home and standard of preparation/cleanliness superb

    Richard2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place, the Barn is situated in an oasis of calm in Brian and Carolyn’s lovely secluded garden, but just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Wetherby. Completely private, The Barn is stylishly furnished, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and has every amenity you need, even a wood burning stove! The hosts have thought of everything including an extremely well equipped kitchen and lots of lovely touches which make it a ‘home from home’. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back. Highly recommended.

  • Wow! What an wonderful place. I can honestly say this is the best Airbnb accommodation we have stayed in. Every aspect was 110%. Leafy location in historic riverside market town. This is a spacious livingroom at the front of the house with a lovely large Victorian window overlooking Sandringham Park. Room includes sofa, chair and reclineable lounger. House is eclectic in style. There is currently no central heating but there are electric heaters in the room and an open fire is usually lit in the dining room when I am around.
This is one of three rooms I have listed on Airbnb within the same house, so you may encounter other people staying in any of the other 2 rooms, unless you book all 3 rooms of course. Very relaxed atmosphere. This space is the groundfloor living room with airbeds. Can fit 2 airbeds comfortably, or 3 airbeds at a squeeze and 4 at a real squeeze. There is a Hauck travel cot at your disposal too on request which is ideal for young children and babies. There is currently no central heating but there are electric heaters in the room and an open fire is usually lit in the dining room when I am around.
Wetherby is a lovely historic market town (2 markets per week) set by the River Wharfe, complete with ducks and bird life in abundance. Ducks have been known to waddle through the town! Great riverside and wooded walks for both humans and ducks! Pleasant quiet and leafy neighbourhood. Plenty of pubs, cafes and good restaurants. Bus station, library with tourist information, plus Post Office and supermarkets and other shops including good butchers and bakery all within 5 minutes walk. Great cafe-restaurant in Market Place ideal for superb breakfasts including healthy options called Filmore & Union. Great heated al fresco too. Late night opening for the restaurant. Alternatively a good Italian restaurant is across the road from this cafe called Sant' Angelo's, which is large and often has excellent live music tribute bands and singers entertainment .. heart and soul of the town. Good brass bands pipe up on a Sunday throughout the summer usually 2pm-4pm.
  • As a host Paul is very kind and helpful. You can find each and everything as mentioned in the description. A lovely stay at the very accommodating Paul 's, Classic Victorian house in a very convenient location in the heart of Wetherby. I would recommend!

    Saurabh2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, quiet area, with a nice big airy front bedroom over looking a park, and only a 5 minute walk into town. So great in fact, that this was my second stay at Paul's! Great hospitality - I was planning to meet friends just after I arrived, but delayed meeting them as Paul had cooked a gorgeous veggie curry for us after my looooong drive. So we ate, drank some wine and had a great chat about everything we could before we finished the bottle, and then I hurried into town late but with a perfect welcome. I will be back...

    Lenny2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Paul is very welcoming. His home feels like a home and is comfortable, cosy and artistically decorated. It is terrific value. There was ample space on the street to park and Whetherby is conveniently close to Harrowgate which is a wonderful town. It is also a great spot from which to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. I will be staying with Paul again when I’m in the area.

We've lived here since 1989, it's ex-Navy, built to accommodate HMS Ceres families (it was the Supply/Secretariat training school at Wetherby between 40s and 50s) and it is very far from the sea! We have off road parking, a great garden and peace!
Central Wetherby - ideal for York, Harrogate and Leeds - Harewood House, Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey - the A1 (the Great North Road) used to go directly through the town, now it is well connected to M1, M62, etc. It's peaceful here, there are lovely walks along the Harland Way, Ebor Way, the Wetherby Ings, walks along the River Wharfe and obviously it is handy for the Dales, the North Yorkshire Moors and Wolds. It is only here because it is equidistant between London and Edinburgh, crossing the River Wharfe over a bridge first built in 1215... What more do you need? Oh and people locally call it 'Weather by' because in Wetherby the bad weather always seems to go by and leave us happy (we are not all such liars ;-))! We are five minutes walk from the Wetherby Racecourse; at Bramham House there are both Bramham Horse Event/Trials and the Leeds Festival once a year. Only 7ish miles to The Great Yorkshire Show ground. Beautiful Knaresborough is around eight miles away. Boston Spa, Tadcaster, Boroughbridge are all close, as is Marston Moor. It is a good place to start or end a stage on the Ebor Way. Etcetera Etcetera. We have a Jay-Be zed bed as well as the single if there are two persons wishing to stay. The zed bed can be put up in the same room so that both guests can be together.
Wetherby is in the Golden Triangle of Harrogate, York and Leeds; but it isn't any of those things so you can escape and drink Prosecco at the end of the day; consider whether you think this is indeed God's own county!
  • Just a gem of a place to stay and Janet was the most perfect host, I wish it wasn't so far from me as I would book in monthly to have a mini-break, lol. Calming, welcoming and so clean, Janet was a gem of lady, I would certainly stay again x

The Gables is a 3 bedroom house in a quiet part of Tadcaster, ideally situated between York (9 miles) and Leeds (14 miles). It's close to popular wedding venues, such as The Priory Wedding Barn, Hazlewood Castle, Bilbrough Normans and Hornington Manor. Holidaymakers and workers visiting the town are equally welcome. We live next door, so we'll always be happy to help. For those wanting to visit York, the Park and Ride at Askham Bar is 10 minutes away and a better option than parking in York.
The Gables is a large Edwardian Villa located on a quiet, leafy "no through" lane. It has a private garden at the back with a seating and BBQ area. There is on street parking always available right outside the house. The dining room has a wood burning stove and a large table. The kitchen is fully equipped. The living room has a Smart TV, DVD player and Hi-fi system. Bedroom 1 has a king size double bed, Bedroom 2 has a Futon Company double sofabed and work station, Bedroom 3 has twin beds.
Tadcaster is a small market town with a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and takeaways - all available within a 5-10 minute walk. There is also a public swimming pool. The house is a 5 minute walk away from the River Wharfe, and there are several walks based around the river.

Ideal for a small family or a group wanting a few days away. Just look to book taxi's in advance, if wanting to head for a night out in York. I'd happily consider this place again.

The apartment is within a stunning converted barn in the beautiful North Yorkshire village of Bilbrough. Recently renovated with two new bathrooms (en-suite to main bedroom) and some new carpets. Lovely village pub 100 meters away (The Three Hares). Plenty of walks in open countryside to be enjoyed. Six miles into central York, 10 mins by car from the Designer Outlet village and 6 mins from the Park & Ride for York. Not far from the A64 it has great access to the whole of North Yorkshire.
200 year old barn - originally a Carriage House, set in beautiful open countryside yet only two minutes from the A64 and six miles from York. Ideally located for York Races and a three minute drive from The Norman’s wedding venue. A ten minute drive from Woolas Barn wedding venue in Appleton Roebuck. 15 minutes from Hornington Manor and Priory Cottages. WEDDING GUESTS: please note that this is one of three apartments in the building. You can book each one individually or you can book the property as a whole. Apt 1 sleeps 6+2, Apt 2 sleeps 4+2 and Apt 3 sleeps 2+2, meaning that 12 people can be accommodated in beds plus six on sofa beds. We have two camp beds suitable for children so, at a push, we can accommodate 20. Please contact us if you would like further information about how best the accommodation can work for you. The links are; https://abnb.me/UieI43vCWW https://abnb.me/pqpJj1FCWW https://abnb.me/0DsRwnRCWW All three apartments in the building have undergone some renovation in recent months. There are some new carpets, new rugs, new beds, new curtains, new bathrooms, new kitchens and new furnishings. There is new bedding throughout and new towels. There has been a lot of redecoration but not every room has been done (yet). This is a work in progress and we are constantly adding things and redecorating in between bookings. The fixtures and fittings that are not new are however of good quality, fully functioning and (most importantly!) clean. Quite a few of the pieces of furniture are antique and some have been lovingly restored to their former glory. We have been blessed with excellent reviews from our lovely guests but if you are looking for a place where everything is brand spanking new then The Carriage House might not be suitable for you. Please note also that The Carriage House is over 200 years old. It is not a modern building! We have retained as many original features as possible. Sound can travel between the apartments; we clearly state this and ask for 'quiet hours' in our house rules. If you are looking for accommodation that is a sound-proof box then this might not be for you. You might hear footsteps from above and/or below and possibly the sound of a TV. That said, the only noise you will hear externally is the sound of owls and foxes and possibly a tractor. There are no rowdy pub/club goers, very (very!) little traffic and no sirens or music.
Good, friendly local pub in the village - The Three Hares. It is closed on Mondays and it is advisable to book if you would like to eat at weekends as it can get busy. Bilbrough has a village park (enclosed) with play equipment. Lots of good walks from the doorstep. We can provide secure storage for bicycles - please ask in advance. Surrounding villages all have good pubs. Copmanthorpe (4 miles) offers pizza, Indian and Chinese takeaways. For late arrivals, we are three minutes by car from a petrol station with all essentials, plus a McDonald’s and the renowned Scott’s Fish & Chips where you can eat in or take away. Copmanthorpe has a Co-Op, a butcher and a post office plus a lovely tearoom. Tadcaster has a Sainsbury’s and a Costa Coffee plus hairdressers, beauty salons, a butcher and Cooplands bakery.
  • Comfortable and pleasant and true to everything it says. We were very pleased with our stay.

    Mabel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very cosy well presented property in lovely countryside and very convenient for York. An attentive host who responds quickly to all communication. However check the village pub if you are going to depend on it for meals. It was not open as advertised and I think there may be questions over its future.

    Ian2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable stay at the carriage house. Nice facilities and personal touches. Loved the food provisions. Thanks very much.

  • We stayed at The Carriage House, Apartment 2 so we could attend a wedding at The Normans, which is just a mile down the road. The location was perfect and the apartment just right for our quick visit.

    Holly2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic place to stay especially if you are attending a wedding at the Normans. We extended our stay and Jacqueline was really accommodating and allowed a late check out. A welcome pack including milk, bread, eggs etc was a lovely touch and little extras like water near each bed and chocolates on the pillows.

    Samantha2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the cottage house. The house was clean and neat and the town was quiet. I would recommend this accommodation and I would stay there again.

  • This accommodation is so good! Its spacious, clean, tidy and modern. We all left feeling relaxed and comfortable!

    Zoe2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Attending a family wedding at The Normans we are so glad we booked this first floor apartment only minutes away from the venue for a two night stay. Sparkling clean with very thoughtful touches of food basics, which were very welcome, plus an Honesty Hamper. Didn't meet the hosts but they were only a phone call away if needed. A welcoming, spacious but cosy apartment in a very quiet location but with excellent road links nearby. We even managed a trip to the outlet village 10 minutes up the A64. Would gladly re-book if in the area again.

200 year old barn - originally a Carriage House, set in beautiful open countryside yet only two minutes from the A64 and four miles from York. Ideally located for York Races and a five minute drive from The Normans wedding venue. It is a ten minute drive from Woolas Barn wedding venue and 15 minutes from both Hornington Manor and Priory Cottages. The village is quiet with little traffic and therefore a safe environment for children. There is a small but lovely playground in the village. Storage for bicycles can be arranged by request. Local taxi numbers can be provided. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room but if you have a young child or two young children then we can provide a very comfortable put up bed (or two) in the bedroom, leaving the sitting room for you to enjoy your evening. The bedroom is very large, so there is plenty of space. All three apartments in the building have undergone some renovation in recent months. We have been blessed with excellent reviews from our lovely guests. Please note also that The Carriage House is over 200 years old. It is not a modern building! We have retained as many original features as possible. Sound can travel between the apartments; we clearly state this and ask for 'quiet hours' in our house rules. You might hear footsteps from above and/or below and possibly the sound of a tv. That said, the only noise you will hear externally is the sound of owls and foxes and possibly a tractor. There are no rowdy pub/club goers, very (very!) little traffic and no sirens or music.
Good, friendly local pub in the village plus The Nag's Head at Askham Bryan and The Sun Inn at Colton, a ten minute drive away. Village park (enclosed) with play equipment. Lots of good walks from the doorstep. We can provide secure storage for bicycles. For late arrivals, we are three minutes by car from a petrol station with all essentials, plus a McDonald’s and the renowned Scott’s Fish & Chips where you can eat in or take away.
  • Just what we needed. Well located for the wedding venue nearby. Great communication and assistance throughout. Would recommend!

  • Fab apartments - we had all of them prior to our wedding, then afterwards for guests. Worked really well with big communal space, but also plenty of areas for people to chill

  • As I was getting married at The Norman’s down the road , the venue was ideally located and big enough for the grooms party to get ready. Was like a home from home , and much better than a hotel due to all the home comforts and the beers chilling in the fridge already , which is paid for via an honesty box. They were great at communicating prior to booking and even down to ensuring my kids were sleeping arrangements were okay too. Could not recommend enough
