  • This is definitely the best place we've stayed in with airbnb! The house was so clean and everything we needed was there. Communication with Elliott was great and we had no problems with anything. Lovely bedrooms and very comfortable beds made for a wonderful get-away! Backyard was magical with pond, gardens, and trees and plants! Neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. We are definitely going be staying there again! Elliott's place is a definite 10!!!!

  • Elliot's place was awesome. It was exactly as described. We walked downtown to eat and shop with easy. The backyard is a great place to relax. And everything is ever confidently located and put together throughout the house.

  • Incredible home!!! Unique space! We loved that our family was able to visit together, cook together and relax in such a cozy house that felt like home. We will definitely be booking this space again in the future.

    Lila2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The home was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! Elliott was easy to reach and everything you want in an Airbnb host.

    Nicole2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great mini getaway at Elliot's home. The space is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The home had everything we needed to relax. It was very clean and inviting. We enjoyed walking around Whitehall, had great perch at Pub One Eleven and some tasty brews at Fetch. The pizza and breadsticks from Sam's were good too. The garden space was lovely, would be great to come back when it's a little warmer to see everything in bloom.

    Meredith2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house and property are beautiful and it was perfectly located in the middle of the quiet town of Whitehall.

    Timothy2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a friendly neighborhood.

    Caitlin2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon; it was quiet and cozy, exactly what we wanted. The house has a great layout, and has been updated with high-end materials throughout. The heated floors made it very comfortable without drying out the air. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cookware, although the microwave/oven combo was a little tricky to figure out. The only drawback was the lack of ceiling lights, but everything else more than made up for it. Elliott even came and cleared the snow off the driveway. I would highly recommend staying here, and I'm sure my wife and I will be back!

  • Becca was a wonderful host and her space was so comfortable. The pictures well represent the rooms/bathroom. Becca was accommodating and gave perfect directions to the Lake Michigan beach! The rooms were spotless, minimal in decorations but very up to date. The neighborhood is quiet. We will definitely will try to stay here again!

  • Becca was a great host! My friends and I were in town for a wedding and we could not have asked for a better stay. The unit is exactly as shown, very clean, very spacious for the three of us that stayed and not far from where we needed to be. Becca provides a comfortable, safe and relaxing atmosphere and I would certainly stay here again! She responded promptly to any questions I had and it was wonderful meeting her !

    Brittney2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home, good location, welcoming host. Worked perfectly for us! Thanks Becca!

    Nancy2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house and the rooms are as described. I had the advantage that I could choose between two bedrooms. Becca was very helpful in selecting a good restaurant with a beautiful lake view. She is a nice person

    Oliver2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Becca's with some friends and it was such a nice getaway! Whitehall was a hidden gem.... 10 minutes or less from Lake Michigan and so quaint. Harbor View Grille is a local spot that is definitely worth a visit. Becca's place is super tidy and her personal touches were great to make us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing stay near Lake Michigan :)

    Brittany2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using Airbnb, and it was a great experience. We arrived fairly late, and Becca was very accommodating. The entire space available to us was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable too. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant. I would gladly stay here again if we are back in the area.

    Brian2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Becca's upstairs 2 bedroom apartment was as advertised, with a small fridge, microwave and bathroom located in the private first-floor entry area. The apartment is reasonably priced and very clean, our bed was comfortable, and the bathroom included a variety of personal products in case you forget anything. Communication was good and check-in & check-out was hassle free. We enjoyed a nice and surprisingly inexpensive dinner at the Old Channel Inn in Montague, then caught the Lake Michigan sunset as skies were just clearing after a couple of cloudy/rainy days. We would stay again when passing through the area. Thanks Becca!

    Paul2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exactly as advertised; Very easy to find and comfortable. Becca made it convenient for us to get settled in. Water in the fridge was nice!

Located in a quaint town, walking distance to White lake, fishing, shops, parks, bike trail, tennis courts, bars and restaurants. 7-8 miles to Lake Michigan beaches. House is cozy and clean with 4 person outdoor hot tub, fire pit, quiet area. The set rate is for four people. Additional guest will require approval and an additional cost of $10.00 per person per night.
My neighbors do watch out for each other. We do care about our neighborhood and all activities going on. I know all of my guest will be respectful during their visit to this wonderful community. Thank you!!!!!
  • My family of six stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed Mary's home. The hot tub and backyard was great. Great location. Mary made things so easy for us. I have 4 kids under 12 and the kids enjoyed it. We will go back.

    Eva2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This location is about 15 minutes to Michigan adventure and about 30 minutes to Silver Lake Sand Dunes. Jackson House has everything you need from A to Z. Mary was professional and replied quickly to any questions. Hot tube was very nice and clean as well as the house. There is tons of wood for the firepit so there is nothing to worry about.

    Daniel2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house was as described. It's in a great location. It was clean and provided the amenities of home for a great price! The hot tub was a bonus!

  • Everything was as advertised. Very nice place to stay. Thank you.

    Dani2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is a great host. Even though we didn't meet her in person, everything in the house was nicely arranged for us. All three bedrooms had necessary beddings, even a couple of bottled water on each night stand. Adequate hand towels and shower towels in both bathrooms. On the kitchen table, Mary even left a couple of small bottles of wine, making us feel at home right away. There was coffee maker, which we found very useful. Mary provided a carton of milk. Very nice. Overall, very nice experience. I would definitely come again, if we come to this area in the future.

    Philip2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home and excellent location with many extra amenities that we did not expect which made our stay even more enjoyable. The house was clean and comfortable. Mary was a great communicator and it was easy to check in/out. Highly recommended!

    Charles2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary is absolutely wonderful. This was our second time at Jackson house and we would love to return for our yearly trip next years. She responds to messages almost instantly, provides a clean as described stay and her home is quaint and feels like home away from home. She responds immediately if you need anything, but you probably won't because she has a wonderful binder of info, local brochures for food and fun and little notes throughout the house explaining the various aspects of her home! Quiet neighborhood, hot tub, bag toss game, grill and a small privacy fence are a few of the many wonderful things her home has to offer, in addition to great location! I have and will continue to recommend her home to others.

**Must be willing to download the August Lock App (free)** My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. A quick walk down the street and you'll find yourself in beautiful downtown Whitehall with plenty of restaurants and fun activities! From the ice-cream, Chinese/Thai food, Pizzerias, and candy shops you'll have a great variety to choose from.
As a family we recently purchased an old motel that had been mistreated. We were excited at the opportunity to join the Airbnb community and give this wonderful property a makeover it so deserves. While the inside of this unit has been beautifully renovated the other units and the exterior are still a work in progress.
A quick walk down the street and you'll find yourself in beautiful downtown Whitehall with plenty of restaurants and fun activities! From the ice-cream, Chinese/Thai food, Pizzerias, and candy shops you'll have a great variety to choose from. The Book Nook and Java Shop is a popular place among the locals. There you'll find free WiFi, live music and a comfy place to hang out. For night owls Pub111 offers great food and company. All these within a mile of our place! Just a few blocks from our place, Goodrich Park offers BBQ pits, picnic tables, a playground and unforgettable views of White Lake.
  • Challenge: Find a better value, and good luck doing so. Not only was it incredible bang for the buck with cozily designed themed rooms, upmarket and brand new bathroom fixtures, cleanliness, and amenities like wifi, Netflix, and an app based entry system( yes, all at this rate), Gary was immediate with his thorough and thoughtful responses to our every question. Super short walk to brewery, eateries and shops in this sleepy little downtown. I thought being on a budget during this trip would spell misery. On the contrary, we couldn't have been more comfortable or better taken care of. Highly recommend!

  • The room is well equipped and comfortable but does not have A/C. There is a fan indoors which is sufficient for the summer. The building itself is very old and not attractive but the room is well renovated with new appliances and furniture.

This small studio space is a great place to lay your head at night while still in close proximity to all that downtown Montague has to offer.
  • Sarah's communication was great, she was very friendly, and her place was great for this solo traveler who just needed a place to crash at night. Thumbs up!

    Charles2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great weekend getaway staying at Sarah's place! She is a wonderfully accommodating host, and her studio is clean and comfortable. The location is great too- within walking distance of downtown/ the marina and right next to a scenic bike trail. Ten out of ten, would recommend.

Conveniently located just up the hill from downtown Montague, pet-friendly Swan Cottage offers a quiet in-town setting perfect for a relaxing getaway. Walking distance to fun attractions such as a fabulous book store/coffee shop/wine bar, yoga studio, in-season farmer's market, antique shops, art gallery and an old-fashioned soda fountain.
  • Great location, would book again.

    Vlad2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We went to Swan Cottage for a long weekend and it was wonderful! It was close enough to Silver Lake and Muskegan for my family and I to go to during the days. The neighborhood was very family friendly and peaceful. It was a perfect place for us because we have kids and dogs and the yard was completely fenced in. The only reason why I rated a 4 is because it was a bit pricey for the area and some of the light bulbs were out. Other than that it was so cozy and clean! Thank you Cathy!!

    Shelby2017-06-19T00:00:00Z

  • Swan cottage was completely delightful. Everything was clean and cozy, and the perfect getaway for me and my group of friends. The front enclosed porch was the best part of the house, and so beautiful in the morning. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. We had a great time and would come back again in a heartbeat.

  • One of the best places that I have stayed at. A very authentic comfy American farm experience. Surrounded by beautiful nature, nearby a lake and great running and biking trails. The rooms are large and well decorated. What truly made the experience unique was Valerie s effort to make my stay special. Being a French person I pride myself in having high standards for food ( :) ) and was amazed by the quality of the homegrown asparagus, homemade marmalade, home churned butter and home baked bread that I was offered for breakfast. Plus their own eggs. I truly believe this place deserves the credit that it has already received from multiple travelers and hope my business endeavors bring me back in the area so I can enjoy the house one more time.

  • The Hansons made me feel very welcome, the food was very good, and the cabin room was amazing! Homey, authentic, and historical, I highly recommend this B&B. The surrounding community was also really pretty, right on the lake, and offers quaint antiques and shopping. Definitely worth my stay!

  • Had a fantastic time here! Valerie is a great cook and her breakfasts are to die for. I am sure I will be back sometime in the future. The house was so clean and cute. I definitely recommend this gem to anyone who wants to stay in this area.

  • This was our very first B&B stay and we absolutely loved it. Valerie was such an amazing cook and I loved the farm to table breakfast style served every morning. Valerie and John were wonderful hosts, and one of the sweetest couple I've had the pleasure to meet. Definitely recommend staying with them, you will not be disappointed! ;)

  • We spent one night at Amanda's Bequest after having lucked out and found the room online only a few days before the Memorial Day weekend. It's a beautiful house with lots of old wood, and you can tell John and Valerie have put a lot of time into it. It's an authentically rustic place that is mercifully devoid of the tacky contrivances you often find in B&B's. The breakfast was outstanding, the hosts having made eggs laid by the very chickens you see walking around outside and bread from locally grown asparagus. John and Valerie are very nice folks with legitimately interesting stories to tell about the property and the local history of the area. We'd definitely go back. Great time. Thanks, John and Valerie!

    David2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed only for one night, but I wish I could have stayed for longer. The home is beautiful, and this bedroom is exceptionally large. My favorite part was breakfast, which was AMAZING - strawberry shortcake, homemade bread and jam, tomatoes and basil, tostadas, sticky buns, fresh orange juice and coffee. It may be the best breakfast I've had in my life. Thanks, Valerie!

With a focus on earth friendly and true farm-style, you won't find busy wall-paper or lots of fussy high victorian decor at this romantic B&B. The high ceilinged historic house has arched rooms with 7 foot windows are graceful in their grand simplicity. The decor is Hanson family heirlooms (most still in use) and relaxing comfort. The Hansons prefer not to leave a big "carbon footprint" and so items are cleverly reused, reduced, and recycled. At Amanda's Bequest Bed and Breakfast you will enjoy quiet, serenity and privacy. If you don't feel like biking, shopping, or other external activities, you can choose to engage in on-site heritage activities that may be naturally occurring, such as butter churning, or jam making; stroll in the woods, gather eggs, watch the deer and wild turkey while relaxing on the back gazebo, harvest fresh produce, read or visit in the parlor, or play the piano...or do absolutely nothing at all. Why the name Amanda's Bequest? Be sure to read about this home's interesting history, and who Amanda was, on our website. As your hosts, John and Valerie Hanson, we welcome you to refresh yourself immersed in a simpler era.
It is a quiet neighborhood with a lot of wild-life in the form of turkeys, deer, fox, eagles, hawks, songbirds galore...and within short walking distance to White Lake.
  • An amazing relaxing stay! By the time we left we felt like family thanks to John & Valerie and their other wonderful guests! As everyone states the breakfast was excellent as were the daily treats! We received the special treat of hanging with our hosts on Saturday night on the back porch. Valerie whipped up some fabulous scratch pizzas and John manned the wood fired outdoor pizza oven! The backed potato pizza was amazing! Can't wait to stay again and maybe try a cheese making class!! By the way, this is a B&B, when booking through Airbnb it does not include breakfast... it is well worth the add on to have breakfast both for the food and the social event!!

  • Valerie and John are amazing hosts - the room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the farmhouse and gardens are beautiful. It's evident how much love and care they put into this property and to making their guests feel welcome. We stayed only one night on the way down from the Leelanau Peninsula, and it was the perfect way to end our holiday weekend up north.

    Elise2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a splendid time! Verse and John were so nice and warm (not to mention made an amazing breakfast). The B and B is adorable, clean, and very welcoming. We'd love to come back again.

  • Valerie and her husband made us feel welcome with a tour, invitation to explore the property, and an offer of their bikes so we could ride into Montague. The food was great and it was fun to learn about the home's history. An unexpected bonus of the trip was finding a wide variety of mushrooms/fungi along their bnb's wooded scavenger hunt trail. We recommend trying their hunt as well as looking for natural treasures along the way. The bnb is just a short drive to a small public access point on Lake Michigan, next to Old Channel Inn, which was peaceful and not crowded. Nice small town, beach getaway.

  • Valerie and John were awesome hosts and they treated us like we were a part of their own family. The accommodations was nice and cozy, we felt right at home. We enjoyed the history lesson and the family pictures that were around the house. The breakfast were spectacler. I wish we were able to stay a couple days longer.

My place is close to Lake Michigan - only 8 miles away. You’ll love my place because of the coziness and the location. My place is good for couples, business travelers, and families (up to 2 kids). Pets are allowed. It is a walk-out apartment out of our house but completely self-contained - kitchen, laundry, bathroom. Our yard is surrounded by woods, and often our chickens are running around! IMPORTANT - see update below in "The space"
Unfortunately, we will not be renting this space, until May of 2018. And if you try to book a spot next summer, PLEASE inquire or call me first to make sure it's actually open for rent. Sorry for confusion!
  • We loved staying here at Tracy's place which is a separate yet complete 1BHK with fully equipped kitchen (there was so much for breakfast-milk, eggs, soda, juice, sausages, bagels, cheese, yogurt). We come to Muskegon 3-4 times a year for the Norman F Kruse Park (20 min from Tracy's) which is a dog-friendly beach and with our water-loving 2yr black Lab, the pet-friendly hotels are not many and not worth the money (unclean, no good breakfast etc). So, this time we tried Airbnb and we are glad to find Tracy's. Everybody in the family (Tracy, Tim, Tyler) was so nice and we especially miss Ted (her fur-baby) and his best friend. Our Lab had a great time with Ted and she loved sniffing around their 5-acre property. All and all a great stay and we definitely recommend it to others.

  • This was a perfect place for a mini-vacation. It had everything I needed plus some! The fresh eggs from Tracy's chickens were an added plus!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. Tracy was an excellent host and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. It was also nice to be able to bring our dog. The apartment had a lot of space--more than I expected. My daughter liked seeing the chickens!

  • Tracy is an amazing host , she received us as soon as we arrived and gave a tour of her place and then suggested places around that we could visit. Her place is cozy and perfect for a group of friends looking to have a relaxing time. The kitchen was stocked with eggs, cereals and milk. The bathroom had supplies in case we didn't get any. • Tracy is such an absolute sweetheart. A true angel. Her place is really big and is such a great find. Do yourself a favor and book it now! Tracy gave us directions to Meiner Park which is about 8 miles from her house. We caught the sunset and stayed the night. It was so comfortable that it felt like I had lived there for years. I feel lucky to have stayed there.

    Mehdy2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy is fantastic. She is great about check-in, and when she was stressed that she wouldn't be there when I arrived, I assured her I was fine checking in on my own. Still, she left me a big note with my name pinned to the mailbox, and another right next to my parking spot, which I thought was super super sweet. THe apartment you'll stay in is frigging amazing. It's got a great little foyer room with comfy armchairs and windows looking out on yard. It's got a bedroom off the foyer-room, and a kitchen that Tracy has stocked with fruit and eggs and a little milk and other things. I don't recall taking anything (other than a mini bottle of wine!) because I'm not much of a breakfast or snack person, but MAN, did I appreciate the thought! There's a big comfy living room with a TV (I didn't really use this room except the little table there to eat my take out at because I was EXHAUSTED and didn't want to be out), adn then the bedroom and bathroom are past that. The bathroom is big and super clean, and the bedroom is big and very comfortable. There are beautiful shelves all along the wall with pictures and books and even throw blankets (THANK YOU! I'm always freezing!), and the bed is so comfortable. There's even a little writing desk where you can sign a guestbook page! Very pretty and cozy. Lots of mosquitos in the area, so bug spray will help if you're sitting outside. (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps will take you like .75mi up the road, but if you (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) "Ken's Little Farm" instead of Tracy's address, you'll be right next to her mailbox (she's on the left, the little farm is on the right). This is a great place to stay.

  • Tracy was really nice and welcoming. We really did appreciate her hospitality and the fact that she gave us our privacy. Thank you so much ! Our stay was lovely !

Welcome to Snails Tail, a cozy fairytale cottage set in the picturesque harbor town of Montague near Lake Michigan. This whimsical cottage offers everything you need for a memorable romantic stay. You are a 10 minute walk to downtown Montague which offers a grocery store with extensive wine and craft beer selection, old fashion ice cream soda fountain, yoga studio, art galleries, antique stores, bookstore, concerts in the park on Tuesdays and a farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Completely remodeled in the arts and crafts style last year, Snails Tail is reminiscent of staying in a woodland fairytale cottage. Cozy but very comfortable with everything you need all while being so close to town and Lake Michigan. The bathroom is small but has a wonderful old-fashioned metal claw leg bathtub shower combination. The updated kitchen is fully stocked and has a dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven and a vintage 1940's Chambers stove. The master bedroom has a antique queen size bed, matching dresser and walk in closet. The guest room has a full-size bed, antique dresser and small closet. There is a three season sitting room with a desk and small bar area. (not heated in winter) The living room has a wood burning gas start fireplace. The yard has a fire pit, grill and hammock. Air conditioning is a window unit which adequately cools the cottage. Fans are also available.
Snails Tail sits in a quaint neighborhood on a quiet street with amazingly friendly neighbors. We are maybe a 10 minute walk to town. Montague has long been a respite for Chicagoans looking for a idyllic escape from the heat of the big city. It has a rich history as a lumbering town that helped rebuild Chicago after the great fire of 1871 as well as suppling wood for furniture construction to Grand Rapids which was know at one time as the furniture capital of the world. Montague and its sister city of Whitehall are the quintessential small towns so many of us dream about growing up in or retiring to.
  • You are going to love this place if you are looking for peace and quiet, clean and tidy, and did I mention CLEAN. It was so nice, what a luxury...and cute too.

  • The Fairyhouse is straight out of a story book. A totally renovated cottage that kept all the best parts of a vintage house. I loved the antique range in the kitchen. The paneled oak bedroom doors had beautiful aged patinas. Eilleen has done a spectacular job curating the furnishings. All the rooms were beautifully decorated with antiques. Eilleen was a great host and we would love to stay at the Fairyhouse again the next time we visit Montigue.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Snail Tail"! The property was so cute and well kept, perfect for 2-4 people for a sweet little get away. The town is small but offers all the essentials just a few minutes down the road. The host was extremely accommodating and communicative and the neighbors were really nice also! I would recommend a stay here.

    Natalia2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful cottage. Eilleen's attention to detail throughout the cottage and all the way through the entire process made this a wonderful 5-day retreat for us. You won't be disappointed! If you're looking for a relaxing, pampered getaway, Eilleen and The Fairytale Cottage should be at the top of your list!

A picturesque all season getaway! Cozy up next to the wood stove. Enjoy a private upstairs bedroom with attached half bath and loft. Trails for hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling are nearby. Half a mile from two Lake Michigan beaches, a public boat ramp onto White Lake, and a fishing pier. Just fifteen minutes from grocery stores, bike paths, bike, kayak and SUP rentals, antique shops, coffee shop, Fetch Brewery, Yoga studio, and the highway.
If you are looking for private space where you can relax by a wood stove, enjoy the outdoors, or explore what the west coast of Michigan has to offer, this is it! I do not have a dishwasher or cable TV, but I do have Wifi. You will have the upstairs bedroom, loft, and half bath. The bathroom downstairs has a shower/tub. I am happy to make arrangements for you to have as much private time as you would like.
The Old Channel Inn, a historic restaurant and bar, and The Old Channel golf course are right down the street. You can see other homes from my home, but they are at least 300 feet away.
  • Marisa is very accommodating and is not o(EMAIL HIDDEN)munication was great, no issues whatsoever. She opened her entire home to us and made us feel very welcome. Her place is beautiful and is in a very convenient location. Short walk to a Lake Mi. beach, her home sits back in the woods a bit and is very quiet. Short drive to get back into town to independent shops and restaurants. You rock Marisa!

  • Marisa has a beautiful and welcoming home in a peaceful, wooded setting walking distance to Lake Michigan and the White Lake Channel and to a good restaurant of historic significance. We were a few miles from two small towns that offered amenities and we were able to enjoy a Chamber Music festival that was taking place in the White Lake area. It could not have been nicer and we hope to go back.

  • Highly recommend and will definitely come back! I felt very much at home here which is something you don't get from a hotel stay and not even from every Airbnb stay . This is truly one of those dream vacation getaways... The log cabin in the woods, with a nearby (short walk) lake and beach- yes you can swim there-it's gorgeous . Only a 10 minute drive to a big supermarket, shops, restaurants, a wonderful café/book store with live music and a pretty marina. Every night I saw deer! I also saw possum, raccoons, wild turkeys and some interesting birds. After all that wildlife viewing you get to go back to the log cabin and pet the cat :-) I started each morning with yogurt and strawberries that Marissa had left for me in the fridge. She's very helpful, friendly and interesting and laid back-a real joy to get to know ! This is a wonderful place to stay and I will definitely be coming back.

  • The camper was older and Randy was thorough with going over the camper details.

    Samantha 2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Randy was quick to respond to some issues we had and patient since we were both late for to the campground. The camper is clean and just as described, but because its older there are bound to be some issues. On the first night, a bar on the side we were sleeping on failed. In the morning the 2nd bar on that side failed when no one was on it. Randy came out and fixed it, brought the refrigerator he forgot to leave the day before, a portable grill and compensated us for the inconvenience. We had no more issues after that and really appreciated his prompt attention and concern. We would rent from him again if we are in the area.

  • Erica's place was the perfect place to rest our heads at night after a day of sight seeing and enjoying the beauty of Western Michigan. The house has everything you may need and the beds are really comfortable. Palmers blueberry farm is just around the corner so our family went and picked a bucket of fresh blueberries and went home (Erica's) and mad fresh blueberry waffles with the waffle maker provided at the house add a little Michigan Maple syrup and it's a match made in heaven. Erica's place is in the perfect location for many of the sights and she even dropped off several bundles of fire wood to enjoy a campfire in the fenced in back yard. Thanks for the home away from home Erica!

  • The house was exactly as pictured--lovely furnishings, warm and welcoming. More spacious than it looks. The large laundry was a great toy car run when it rained. And the hostess provided big baskets of toys! It was clean and ready. 4 nice tvs! But no wifi. The review nicked down just a tad because there were no sundries--half a roll of t.p., one bar of hotel-size soap, washer and dryer but no detergent, no extra garbage bags. A stop at the Meijers in Muskegon on the way in might be a good idea. It's well water, fine to drink but you might want a couple of gallons of "regular" water.

    Mary2016-08-22T00:00:00Z

GOOD LOCATION TO MICHIGAN ADVENTURE, THUNDERBIRD RACE TRACE, SILVER LAKE DUNES, GRAND HAVEN, MUSKEGON. THE BEDS SLEPT WELL FOR US, HOT WATER. BRING YOUR CLOTHES AND FOOD. ALL APPLIANCES WORKED WELL.

He asked us what time we would like to have breakfast and when we returned to our room there was a kind note wishing us a pleasant stay. Of course there were chocolates on our night-stand! The Cocoa Cottage is a beautiful house. We love the Craftsman style and decor.Larry and Lisa are wonderful hosts and the breakfasts are fabulous. We're already planning a return trip.

  • What a great B&B! We were in town for a wedding and found this B&B online. We had no idea what to expect, of it or the area. The B&B is just wonderful. It's a beautiful craftsman style home with many comfortable places to sit and relax both inside and out. It's lovely and there is, indeed, chocolate everywhere. Larry was such a gracious host, offering wine in the afternoon and preparing amazing breakfasts. The area is fantastic as well. There's a bike trail right by the B&B, you can watch the sunset over the water one block away, and there are many local options for sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. Our only regret is that we didn't add a day to our visit to take advantage of everything given how relaxing it was. We can't recommend it highly enough.

*Must be willing to download the August Lock App (free)* My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. A quick walk down the street and you'll find yourself in beautiful downtown Whitehall with plenty of restaurants and fun activities! From the ice-cream, Chinese/Thai food, Pizzerias, and candy shop you'll have a great variety to choose from.
  • I stayed at this location for 5 days and found it very pleasant, cozy and convenient. The room was very clean and welcoming, and the addition of an AC unit in my room was unexpected but appreciated. I'll definitely be staying there again in the future!

  • The room was immaculate! Better than expected. The bed was so comfortable and the location was nearly perfect, being in the middle of a lot of major places for sightseeing.

  • Great, clean, bright place to stay!! They were very helpful with our checking in and got us an air conditioner!!

    Tricia2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place! A clean, simple room, with a TV and some snacks and such. Good place for one or two people to crash while in town.

  • This little motel was as cute and cozy as pictured:) we stayed here for Electric Forest and loved how close it was to the venue. The bed was super comfy and the room had all the amenities we needed. I definitely recommend staying here if your looking for quiet and comfort:)

    Skyler2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean and cute as described. I didn't notice the part of the posting that listed it didn't have air conditioning, so I was a bit surprised when I arrived. They are renovating the motel, so you may not even have any fellow guests, as we didn't. The downside to this is no one is available in the office if you should need anything, but the host is prompt in answering texts and calls.

    Natalie2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The building is old, but the rooms are nice. No major problems. Having Netflix instead of cable was good.

    Brian2017-07-02T00:00:00Z

  • This property has the most incredible view of the lake from its Wooded hilltop setting. There is a large picture window in the comfortable family room, from which we enjoyed our morning coffee. The lake is quiet without too much boat traffic. Everything was clean, updated and comfortable and we will definitely be back!

    Sheri2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chris saw to it that everything about our stay would be comfortable. The updated house has a great view of Duck Lake, with convenient access to the state park and nearby restaurants.

  • Chris was a fantastic host and was very quick with all responses to questions and/or concerns. This cottage was amazing for our family and a great area so close to Duck Lake State Park. It would be fun to rent both cottages as the one below would add space and beach activities. We would love to come back!

Our 3 bedroom lakefront cabin is 40 feet from Lake. On the south shore facing a state park, includes semi-private beach with dock. Excellent fishing, beaching, boating with semi-modern cabin. Most renters love Duck Lake State Park for hiking/biking and their beach to enjoy the warm channel water. Our cabin is also a short boat ride or car ride away to enjoy Lake Michigan & beaches. Less than 15 min car ride to enjoy Michigan Adventure Amusement & Water Park. Minutes from 5+ golf courses.
Upper house on same property also available for rent for multi family/friend stay. This property must be booked separately at: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19033385?guests=3&adults=3&location=Whitehall%2C%20MI%2C%20United%20States&s=IQrk1TPR
  • Beautiful, serene lakefront cabin. Fabulous location -- a lovely getaway.

    Jack2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean, ready to go & Chris was super accommodating with everything!

    Olivia2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as advertised if not better. Chris, the host was absolutely fabulous and the elevator was definitely worth the money lol. I would definitely rent this cabin again I highly recommend it I had a fabulous time.

    marguerite2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage was amazing! Right on the beach, with a private beach and beautiful dock. Chris, was so helpful, welcoming and flexible! The stairs down to the cottage aren't too bad, but we did use the elevator service Chris provided to move all of our stuff from the car to the cottage. Well worth it to not have to carry it all down! The cottage was everything we needed and even had wifi :) The only downside, I would say, was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The shower was not ideal and there were bugs along the floor trim. But everything else was great. It was the perfect way to spend our Labor Day Weekend with little kiddos!

    Carrie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's Cabin is in a fabulous location and walking out onto the dock in the evening is magical. The cabin itself has an amazing 'sitting area' almost at lake level and it has amazing views. It is filled with light and is an amazing place to sit and watch the lake. The rooms in the cabin are rustic and have relatively small windows. It is not super modern. I loved the location and recommend it to you.

    Craig2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place! The lake is gorgeous and the house overlooks the state park so it's perfectly serene. Lake Michigan is a 5 minute boat or car ride. Chris is as great of a host as you could hope for! He's extremely laid back, flexible, welcoming, and SO easy to deal with. I flew in from out of town and had given him the wrong time to meet - when I corrected, Chris was understanding and stayed late! I would definitely rent from Chris again.

    Joe2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • A good group of us stayed at Chris' place while we attended a nearby festival. Every single one of us absolutely loved our stay. Finding such a cool cabin on a lake is a rare thing. We were even more delighted to use the dock, the canoes, the paddle boat and the fishing equipment there. Some of us even setup tents on the lawn to fully enjoy the lake. We will come back there in the future for a simple, quiet, pleasant and relaxing stay.

    Marc-André2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable location! My family fished, boated, played in the sand, and had a great time! Chris was an awesome host. He was there to meet us when we arrived and checked in via text periodically to make sure we were having fun. Definitely coming back to this house!
