  • Cheryl, her dog and her wombats were super friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at her cosy place. Bed was really comfy. The duvet and pillows were really nice. Hot showers and thick towels. She also provided a hearty breakfast with homemade jams and even packed some stuff for us to bring on the road. Couldn't ask for a better host and it was definitely the best Airbnb experience of my life. Definitely value for money and highly recommended

  • This is a fascinating place to stay if you like to spend time around wildlife with someone who dedicates their life to their welfare. Cheryl and her Mum are very interesting and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We loved staying there and it is somewhere very different from the normal B&B experience.

    Susan 2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl was a fantastic host, very welcoming and put on a great spread for breakfast. I had so much fun cuddling Nigel and Alfie the baby wombats and hearing about Cheryl's wombat rehabilitation efforts! Would definitely stay again :)

    Madison2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly unique and wonderful place...not for everyone, I'm sure, but for people who want to learn about and get to know wombats up close and personal, an unparalleled experience. We loved cuddling the critters, visiting with Cheryl and her mom, and being in this unique setting. What she's doing is wonderful, and visiting and staying with her was a treat. It was comfortable, with a great breakfast, every amenity, and she had great suggestions for places to go and where to eat. Couldn't have been better!

    Kesler2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I start? Incredible experience. The single best b&b we stayed at in Tasmania. Cheryl was so warm and inviting. It was awesome to hangout with wombats for the night. They were so cute and cuddly

    Spencer2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl us an incredible host a lovely kind person who couldnt do enough for us. We loved our stay with her Jeffey and her beautiful wombats.

    Helen2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Cheryl. We really enjoyed meeting the wombats and we're even able to hold them! Also don't forget Jeffey the dog who was so nice as well! Cheryl was extremely welcoming and provided a wealth of information about the local area. The bedroom/ensuite was super cosy and comfortable. Cheryl also provided delicious lamb for dinner and allowed us to take leftovers for lunch the following day! I would look forward to staying here again if we are in the area.

Kestie Cabin is conveniently close to The Port Arthur Historic Site, local restaurants and pubs. It is ideal for couples and solo adventurers. Many guests stay before setting out on the Three Capes Walk and return after their adventure for a nice hot shower and a good night's sleep. The cabin is has a mini-kitchen and undercover bbq area. Provisions for a light breakfast are included.
Kestie Cabin is a spacious and recently renovated studio-style cabin, in the garden of my home, which offers the chance to wind-down and disconnect for a while. There is a TV for the DVD, but no TV reception at the moment. DVDs and board games provided. WiFi is not available but access can be arranged for emergencies. The mini-kitchen has a microwave, toaster, sandwich press, kettle and fridge.
Carnarvon Bay is a beautiful and peaceful location. There is a small community that is a mix between 'locals' and 'shackies'. To find us, travel just past the Historic Site and turn left into Safety Cove Road, turning left into either McCormicks Rd or Pitman Avenue. Nearby restaurants include - Felons, at the Historic Site, The Lavender Farm, Fat Quoll Pizza, Fox and Hounds and the Port Arthur Motel Restaurant.
  • Kathy was a great host, clear communication and gave us some advice on where to eat. Excellent location very close to the Port Arthur site

  • Kestie Cabin is a beautiful little cabin, very comfortably furnished and just really cosy for two people. Kathy is really welcoming, she goes out of her way to help you and to make everything (incl. lifts on arrival and departure) easier for her guests. I can warmly recommend the place and the host.

  • Kathy's cottage was very comfortable in the backyard of her house. It was a quiet backstreet but only a short drive to either restaurants or to the Port Arthur Historical site. Kathy was more than helpful with recommendations in the area. We would stay there again. Thank you.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Kathy and wish we stayed longer! Her place is clean, spacious and very welcoming. It is so close to the historic site and a great base to see and do everything Port Arthur has to offer. Kathy is such a lovely host, she made sure we were warm and well looked after. We would definitely recommend her place to anyone :)

    Dan2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is small, but definitely big enough for two adults and a child. It can be quite chilly in the winter, but the fire does warm it quite well. It is really easy to get to places like the Port Arthur historic site. A nice, secluded and quiet place. Kathy was very nice and helpful as well. We enjoyed ourselves and were quite comfortable. The small work bench area of the kitchenette is good enough for small meal preparation and light meals/snacks.

    Ashtian2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy's place is the perfect place to stay at after a long day of driving around Tasmania. Close by the beach & very peaceful & very easily located. Great communication, thank you once again for letting us stay! Highly recommend.

Electric blanket on the bed was a lovely touch and we were lulled to sleep by the frog chorus from the nearby pond. An original Tasmanian fishing shack, my lovely home features stunning views directly overlooking Little Norfolk Bay, 3 bedrooms, and a wood fire. Just 10 mins to Port Arthur, and 45 mins from the airport, my home has super fast WIFI, local artwork from Australian artists, and many good vibes! Pack some fire wood and a bottle of red, and get ready to explore the South East.
Welcome to my shack. Within an hour drive of Hobart, the house is the perfect weekend getaway. It is an old house with plenty of charm and decorated with love. If you want 5 star, this is not it! The shack has lots of natural light, is beautifully decorated and tidy. It can get cold in the winter, but we have a wood fire, heater and plenty of blankets. There are 3 bedrooms; 2 very comfy double beds and one sofa bed (a king single or small double) for extra guests, plus with a large desk, with fast WIFI.
The house is located on Arthur Hwy, with Little North Bay directly opposite, giving amazing water views and ease of finding the house. Things to do on the Tasman Peninsula: Nature - Pirate Bay lookout (before you get to Eaglehawk Neck from Hobart), the far end of White Beach is really pretty or drive out to Lime Bay (dirt road). If you want to see some Tasmania devils, there is the Unzoo a couple of minutes from the house. Active - there's a ton of hikes locally: Waterfall Bay (easy), Cape Huay, Shipstern Bluff (3 hours), The Lanterns, Fortescue Bay (4 hours worth it!), the 3 Capes just opened - looks amazing! History - If history is more your thing, Port Arthur convict settlement run amazing tours and is only 10km south of the house. Recommend the boat tour, and taking most of the day to explore. Also near Lime Bay is the Coal Mines, a nice walk if the weather is good. Food - Eat yummy fresh food; cherries (just south of Sorell is cherry farms, stop and grab some for the ride. The A9 heads south and is a beautiful drive), cray rolls (in Dunalley stop at the general store on Booth St and grab fresh cray rolls for lunch, yum. There's a viewing pull out over looking Dunalley Bay when you leave Dunalley - the sand ridges and turquoise water are beautiful), oysters (on the deck with a cold chardonnay), amazing locally made chutney, pickled fruit, quince (Nubenna op shop open Tues 10-3, Fri 10-3, Sat 10-1), fish and chips (Eaglehawk Neck near the pier, open late Sept - late May) Shopping - Op shopping is great in rural areas; Salvos (Station Lane, Sorell), Vinnies (Sorell), antiques at Murdunna (tiny old Post Office converted into a treasure trove of goodies), Nubenna (behind the petrol station, by the tennis courts), Dunalley (behind the community centre). Chill at the house - cheese platter on the deck, red wine by the fire, board games galore, read a book, and make sure you walk down to the jetty with some blankets and check out the stars… Hobart: MONA for the day (you can drive (easy), hire bikes (hard), or get the MONA ferry (fun - but an extra $20 on your ticket price), Tasmanian Muséum and Art Gallery is worth the trip, book an adorable and individual room at the gorgeous Hotel Alabama run by Kelly and Aeron in town, Mt Wellington for views, Criterion Street Cafe for breakie, or coffee at Betsys on Argyle st and say g'day to Charlie the owner. Extra time: Coles Bay, Strathgordon, Bay of Fires, Cradle Mountain, Trainee National Park, Bruny Island, Launceston gorge, The Apple Shed (best cider in Tasmania, and yummy cheese platters) plus great drives. *Please start your message with HOLA FRANKIE so I know you've read this!*
  • The home has been a sensory delight at every corner. It was comfortable and spacious. Every corner of the space has been thought through and the little greeting in the bathroom mirror was a delight. I'm in awe of how tasteful the entire space has been made up, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)mable, if you're so inclined.

  • Frankie's house was really lovely and homely, with an artistic touch. The ambience was good. We had a problem with the water pump being switched off because of the storm and called Nick, who picked up immediately and resolved it. Communication was superb and we highly recommend this place!

    Annabel2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little holiday shack with beautiful water views. Close to Port Arthur and surrounding area. Thanks for sharing your place Frankie.

    Robyn2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I spend just one night in Frankie's with my parents so we didn't have time enough to enjoy the house. We arrived late, lighted the fire and had a good sleep in the confty beds. In the morning the good views surprised us. The location is perfect, just in front of the Unzoo where we saw tasmanian evils and kangaroos. Nice place to stay and explore the Tasman Peninsula.

  • We loved the space and open plan living area. The view is spectacular, perfect place for relaxation. A great opportunity to possibly pick up a book you've been meaning to read. We didn't get the fire going during our short stay but it definitely adds to the ambiance.

    Jessica2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie's place was so welcoming. We loved our brief stay and felt right at home. The boys loved your super fast wi-fi, they were feeling cut off from the world! Thanks for having us.

Port Arthur, Eaglehawk Neck and 3 Capes Walk are easily accessible from our home . We offer a luxurious ensuite room with entrance porch, beautiful scenery, birds, wild fauna and flora in a serene, magnificent setting. The Tasmanian pine-lined interior of the house creates irresistible charm and the genuine structural celerytop pine trunk is eye-catching. There are stupendous views from each room with shoreline and pebble beach bordering the garden. Home-cooked meals may be arranged if required
Our property is situated on a one acre natural bush block which runs down to King George Sound which is part of the Norfolk Bay. From the house, verandah and shoreline there are clear views of Mount Wellington, King George and Smooth Islands and the hills of the surrounding areas across the bay. The sunset and water views (from each room even the bathroom) are arguably amongst the best in the world and the property, despite being situated on the coast, is wind-protected under most weather conditions. When the conditions require it the house is heated by a wood fire in the lounge. The accommodation on offer is of two types. Bedroom I is a luxurious guest ensuite bedroom which contains a queen size bed that is fabulously comfortable. The ensuite includes a basin, shower and toilet. The guests have the entire east wing of the house to themselves and can enjoy time on their own in their own space or join us in the shared kitchen or lounge/dining room if they wish. The bedroom has an entrance hall which offers extra privacy and a buffer zone. A second bedroom is available if required for more than 2 guests but please note this is a woodlined studio which is IN A SEPARATE BUILDING to the main house. Bedroom is a standard room and therefore is not a deluxe standard as is Bedroom 1. If this second room is required guests would still be sharing the bathroom in the guest section of the main house. Only guests from the same group would have access to the guest bathroom ensuring guest privacy. The studio guests would also be using the main house shared facilities. In addition if guests are looking for accommodation when the main room is booked beds can usually still be found especially for guests requiring more than one night. it is always worth contacting us to enquire about accommodation even when our main room is booked.
We are located in natural bush area which is suited to guests that love nature and are looking for a beautiful setting in a peaceful area. The Forestier and Tasman Peninsulas are for people who want a quieter stay away from shops, cinemas and bright lights. We love our friendly and convenient neighbourhood which mixes a semi-rural setting together with convenient access to facilities. We are less than 5 minutes from Sommers Bay Beach and 12 minutes from hotels in Dunally and Eaglehawk Neck which both serve delicious meals. Our property is situated 1 hour by car from Hobart and 45 minutes from the airport. The closest shopping centre is situated in Sorell which is a 35 minute drive from our house while the nearest fuel and small general supply / take-away store is less than 5 minutes from our house and is open daily during the day. From our property guests have convenient access to the beauty of the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas. The Three Capes walk, (Cape Hauy, Cape Rauol and Cape Pillar) which is being touted as the best short walk in the world by some of the international travel books is easily accessed from here. If we are able to arrange convenient drop-off / pick-up points we would be willing to help with guests staying staying for more than one day and wishing to do longer walks. We are within convenient reach of Port Arthur with its historical and ghost hunting facilities (30 minutes drive). The Coal Mines are also of historical and birding interest and Lime Bay is another birding and walking area worth visiting. All of these and many other places are a must to see - Devils Kitchen, Tasman Blowhole, Tasman Arch, Waterfall Bay and fairy penguins to mention just a few to wet your appetite - all just a 10 or 15 minute drive away. I have visited and walked around many of these areas and can give more information to guests if they require it.
  • Eileen and Allan made us feel welcome right from the time we booked. Their house is beautiful and our room had everything we could need. It was lovely to sit and chat over a hot milo at night and the breakfast was delicious! They are both very kind and make sure you have everything and more, with a great view over the beautiful bay.

  • Despite unfortunately not getting to meet Deborah, we had a lovely stay. The cottage was kept warm with the fire and she had set out everything we needed for our stay. Deborah kept us up to date and made sure our arrival and stay went smoothly. A huge thank you also to your neighbour for keeping the fire going for us during the day!

  • My mom and I really enjoyed sharing Deborah's cottage with her for the night. As an artist, she has an innate sense of style and her home is a cosy stopover on the way to Port Arthur. You will especially love learning about all the edibles in her incredible garden. Deborah is also very interesting to talk to and is keen to hear about the lives of her visitors. You will thoroughly enjoy your stay at this quaint cottage.

The property was exactly as described and our two dogs loved their large yard. We particularly loved their beautiful wood fire and extensive dvd collection when the weather turned a bit harsh. Lisina & Aaron went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and had a comfortable stay. We have already been recommending their accommodation to others and would love to stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    Ashleigh2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lisina and Aaron's place was a great little place to stay while we were in the Tasman Peninsula and we were able to explore everything we wanted from there including a nice short walk to the beach. Its a great place for a family to stay although we were just there with our toddler (who loved having some new games and toys to play with on our holiday). My only recommendation would be to make sure you do a shop before you get there as the local 'supermarkets' are quite limited and expensive.

    Kate2016-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at Lisina and Aarons place. The location was fantastic and just a short stroll to the beach. We would of loved to stay longer then two nights as it was so relaxing. Plenty to do around the house for all. Our 3 year old loved all the games, beanbags and the secure yard to play in. Lisina was very quick to respond and they were very welcoming with a lovely note and special anniversay chocolates that kept us going for the weekend. Would love to stay again sometime!

  • We had a lovely stay in this clean and homely shack, enjoying the outdoor area as well as fire and plenty of books and DVDs. It was a beautiful area and 2 minute walk to some amazing sunsets on the beach! Easy to get to and close to other areas like Port Arthur, would definitely recommend as a base for exploring the peninsula.

    Erin2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Love Shack felt very welcoming and home like. The enclosed yard was great for the kids.

  • A lovely place with all the mod cons we needed for a family holiday. 3 min stroll to the beach, supermarket 5 mins ... Quiet, clean, great comfy beds!! Highly recommended. Thank you :)

Relax in privacy in our two-bedroom open-plan cottage with all conveniences, 2 minutes walk to a beautiful white sand bay. A cosy light-filled beach cottage. Convenient off-street parking. Great views of beach and bush. Large sunny deck all year round. Roaring log fire in winter. Stepping off point for the many attractions on the Tasman Peninsula.
A very relaxing home filled with light from its large windows in every room. Perfect for families, couples and friends. The kitchen is well-set up to enable guests to cook up a storm. You can cook everything and anything with the equipment provided. There are even recipe books to assist with inspiration. Tasmania has such good fresh produce, it is a pity not to take advantage. There are two supermarkets in Nubeena (3kms) and Premaydena (10kms) has a general store that sells local produce, and many other things as well. There is a farm gate vegetable stall on White Beach Road that sells local and other produce. Lucky Ducks cafe also sells seasonal fruit and vegies, as well as serving up food made from local produce. Local markets occur regularly - the calendar in our house lists some. And of course, Salamanca Saturday market in Hobart is only 1.5 hours away. There are lots of books, a TV and DVD/CD player, and movies. The shower is walk-in, and gorgeous fresh towels and cotton bed linen is provided. If it gets cold, light the fire, but it can get very warm quite quickly. The house is easy to access and parking - for 3 or 4 cars - is off-street. Only a road separates you from the beach, so enjoy its pristine waters. A nearby jetty suits those who wish to throw in a fishing rod. We supply beach towels. Please use these (not the bath towels) if going down to the beach. Port Arthur is 10kms away. There are lots of bush walking tracks including the new and world listed Three Capes Walk (and there are two bush walking books in the book shelf); and Pennicott's Tasman Island boat tour is a must. Explore Eaglehawk Neck and the Tasman National Park. A week will fly by in this fabulous location!
This property is situated on the Tasman Peninsula, most of which is national park. There are many walking tracks including the world-listed Three Capes Walk involving three overnight camps in well-built huts. The area has abundant native wildlife and birds. The water at White Beach is crystal clear and warmer than ocean beaches, being about 21 degrees C in the summer of 2016. The bay is very shallow in places, making it ideal for children.
  • This house at White Beach had everything you could need, including fast wifi, washing machine, a fireplace, condiments for cooking and beautiful morning sun . A very relaxing place to stay and explore the Tasman Peninsula. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could happily come back for a week to explore the area further.

My home is a 3bdr two storey house overlooking Pirates Bay, set back on a forested 2.5 acre block with expansive views of the ocean, just an hour from Hobart / 45mins from the airport. Ideal for walks, diving, surfing, reading next to the fireplace & exploring the Tasman Peninsula. NOTE: Sometimes I may (work dependent) also be on the property in a self-contained space, 70m from the house which remains entirely yours. Any questions about this just ask!
Nestled on a wooded incline overlooking Pirates Bay, my home features a cosy wood heater & split firewood (during winter), outdoor BBQ & cooking area with night lighting, carport, a modern interior with polished floor boards and carpeted bedrooms. There are three bedrooms - two downstairs, one with two single beds and one with a double bed, along with a master upstairs bedroom with a queen bed featuring a private balcony. The first floor has a balcony, large open-plan living room / dining area, with a kitchen and twin breakfast bench chairs. All amenities are included for cooking (pots, pans, etc). There is fast Internet access provided over WIFI (NBN). There is no TV - there is however a large selection of good books & thought provoking magazines around the house, plus beautiful views and great places to go on long walks.
Eaglehawk Neck is the beginning of the Tasman Peninsula. Pirates Bay can receive good surf swell, however it is east facing and during summer it's often a very safe swimming beach. Driving around to swim at Doo-Town will provide even gentler conditions (5min by car). During the summer months the famous fish & chip van is at the Blow Hole. Cubed Coffee is also at the Eaglehawk Neck lookout - if you are a coffee aficionado from Melbourne, this is one of the few places in Tassie which gets 5 stars on Beanhunter. There are a myriad of walks and places to visit - Fortescue Bay is stunning, Lime Bay is beautiful and makes a great place for a picnic.
  • Nick's place is beautiful with amazing views and interesting personal touches showing his sailing interests. We appreciated his generosity in leaving is a bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend this place.

    Anne2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the house was the draw are for us and it certainly didn't disappoint. Set high on a hill overlooking the bay and only 3 minutes to the fantastic tessellated pavement the house offered seclusion whilst still being close to everything. Inside the house was warm and cosy, even during the bad weather we encountered. Nick's communication was prompt, efficient and always helpful.

    Brian2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful house, in a secluded, wooded property. It has a wonderful view of the sea and the coastline: a magical view at all hours of the day. Nick was a terrific host: very quick and always responsive. It is well appointed with excellent internet access and a fantastic, eclectic collection of books. We visited for 2 nights, staying with our now-adult children and it was perfect for us. We will return!

    Alpha2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • On a cold day, it was great to enter a lovely warm home with the wood fire going and a lovely bottle of red wine on the table. The views were fantastic. The amenities were all of a great standard. I have only two negatives, 1. we had to go home, and 2. the lack of laundry facilities for longer term stay.

    Marlene2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Such a great place to spend the night relaxing! Perfect views, walking distance to the beach and the place had everything we needed! Also really loved how Nick went that extra mile and gave a great bottle of red to enjoy during our stay!

    Josh2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We are locals who have always loved the area. We spent a stormy weekend curled up with a glass of wine watching the rain and hailstorms blow across the bay - so beautiful! A perfect weekend for us away from the kids! The house is gorgeous and the view spectacular. NBN made streaming movies to watch easy (bring a computer - no TV in the house - which is just fine by us). Everything was spotless with towels, soaps and a bottle of wine placed for us to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your spectacular view!

My place is close to Stewart's Bay beach, activities and unique walks at and near Port Arthur (eg 3 Capes Walk). You’ll love my place because of the location being 5 minutes walk to Port Arthur historic site and Stewart's Bay beach and is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with 2 children, maximum).
  • Ideal and quiet location only a couple minutes from the Port Arthur Historic Site and the 3 Capes. Loved my stay here. Very clean, organized, and everything you'd want a place to be. Beautiful bushland surrounds this end of cul-de-sac property. Communication with Ann was great, although we didn't meet.

  • Lovely cottage in a great location so close to Port Arthur site, Eaglehawk Neck and Stewarts Bay. Comfy beds, great kitchen and bathroom. Didn't meet Ann and Marc personally but she went out of her way to chat before our arrival and to ensure we had all the information we needed for a great stay. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

  • Marc and Ann met us at the house and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The location is wonderful, just a few minutes walk to a pristine beach and a 10 minute walk to Port Arthur Historic site. We also used it as a base for a walk out to Cape Hauy. The house is spacious and very comfortable with outdoor and indoor living spaces. We would have stayed longer if we could!

  • A cosy, quiet beach house in the best location! This property has everything you could possibly need and is located just minutes away from Port Arthur. Not only does this location appeal to a historian, it also appeals to any person wanting a peaceful holiday on the coast. Lots of different coastal walks which the host Ann described well in messages and with brochures. The communication prior to and during our visit was excellent and since Ann knew we were arriving just after 3pm - she made sure to put the heater on for us so we arrived to a warm, welcoming environment. Our favourite accommodation on our Tassie trip so far!

Host was also super responsive before our stay and helped us with all of our questions. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave, the bathroom has a hair dryer. Our meticulously renovated cottage at Saltwater River is a little piece of history nestled in the heart of the Tasman Peninsula . Marvel at the sea and mountain views or retreat inside beside the fireplace. Our beautiful bay is a 5 minute walk away
This cottage and our larger residence , Semaphore House, are the only historic accommodation that is exclusively yours to live in. The perfect setting to explore the Three Capes Walk , Port Arthur Historic site , the historic Coal Mines ( with its beautiful views) and the numerous other sites on the Tasman Peninsula.
You will have a house we are happy to call home , fires ready to light , a stocked wood pile and comfortable beds. Saltwater River is a heritage listed area . Everywhere you can see vestiges of our convict past, natural beauty and next door we have a burgeoning vineyard . In the future we hope to offer you our wine!
  • We had a wonderful stay and a great experience. Catherine was responsive and welcoming even though we did not meet her in person. Through email we got a list of things to do around the area specifically suited to our circumstances. The fireplaces were ready to light. She gave us a call on the day and there was even a little jar of locally produced jam on the table for us! The cottage is beautiful and well maintained whilst keeping its vintage features. The kitchen and the fireplaces were my favourite. Such a cozy space to chat with friends. Garden is a perfect place to take in the beautiful view. Nice to wander around and a quiet area. Key handover went smooth. I recommend you arrange with Catherine in advance where the keys will be in case you cannot get hold of her on the day.

  • Catherine was an amazing host. Granted it was hard to find in the dark, but once we got there, it was like we went back in time to the 1800s, and the kitchen was a modern pleasure! We literally lived there for the weekend and felt like we could be there for weeks. We loved the fireplace and the bathtub as well. Wonderful weekend, and highly recommend it for couples who want to have a getaway.

  • Beautiful, beautiful cottage. Breathtaking views of the sea. We were greeted by a double rainbow. The home is large and historical. We enjoyed nights by the fire playing trivial pursuit. Cute bunnies in the garden. Coal mines so close. Loved it here.

  • The Cottage was beautiful and the perfect get away. The view was truly stunning - coffee on the verandah in the mornings and wine in the evenings while we watched the sunset! The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We stayed in winter and the fire places added to the authentic experience and there were plenty of heaters positioned throughout the house too. Can highly recommend the cottage and can't wait to go back.

  • Really beautiful house, right on the beach at Stewarts Bay. Less than 30 seconds walk and you're on the beach. Lovely kitchen and bathroom was luxurious with nice big bath, large showerhead, and underfloor heating. Comfortable lounge room. The main bedroom was huge. Other bedrooms were a bit small but comfortable enough. Only issue was there was only one bathroom (fortunately two toilets) which, if filled to capacity with 12 adults, could be a bit tight. Otherwise the host was a great communicator. Despite an initial booking error regarding number of adult guests, she quickly rectified this and sent people down with extra linen for the spare beds. She also allowed an early check-in and late check-out! Fantastic.

    Marcus2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, we found the property to be stunning and beautifully styled. The towels and bed linen were beautiful, and the kitchen equipment well maintained and clean. We were generally very impressed. It was the small touches that made the difference (including underfloor heating in the bathroom). The kitchen could benefit from a coffee plunger (or similar). We didn't have our children with us but would have concerns bringing them with us - this is largely due to the open, non compliant internal staircase. It may be worth advising guests to bring a safety gate if they're bringing children. Unfortunately the main bedroom didn't have blinds on one of the large floor to ceiling windows - so it's worth bringing some travel blinds if you have them.

  • The house was exactly as described and there was a big pile of firewood ready to go, which was great as we arrived at dusk and it was cold. All the instructions, to get the key and on how to use appliances, were clear and easy. Vitali had also given us a fantastic rundown of where to shop, local places to eat, etc. The outside fire pit was a highlight. We sat around on a very cold night, with a big fire burning, and ate toasted marshmallows.

  • Great experience, lovely cosy beach house with all needs to have a quiet and relax break. Pandemelons, wombat and possums were around at late evening time!! I highly recommend this comfortable beach accommodation.

  • The kids and dog loved this spot. Bush to play in, room for bikes, quiet road, campfires and nice rocky foreshore to explore. A large deck and great view for the adults. Close to all of the peninsular attractions but so much more laid back than other accommodation options. Bedding was clean and sufficient. The only downside was the mattresses were old and uncomfortable, but a minor problem on the whole. Thanks!

  • Fantastic location to explore the surrounding area. Beautiful place to stay. The cottage enhanced our experience on the Penisula. Highly recommended.

  • My husband and I stayed here for three nights. The house is as per the photos and has everything you need. The fire place and verandah were our favourite parts. Vitali provided us with lots of detailed instructions about the house, what to do, where to shop and where to eat so we knew exactly what to expect and how to best plan our trip. We liked the self check-in/check-out as it gave us more flexibility on our arrival time and plans for the day.

  • This was a wonderful house to stay in with our teenaged sons. Coming from Malaysia, they had a lot of fun splitting wood for kindling, and starting a fire. We also really enjoyed cooking together. All the tourist attractions are just a drive away but, at the same time, it felt as if we were the only ones on that strech of beach.

  • The view! Go for the view. Its incredible. And quiet. You can stand on the deck in the evening and only hear sounds of the ocean and the birds. Great fire to keep things cosy in the evening as well. Very well equipped kitchen.

  • Cute little quirky cottage. A short drive from Port Arthur historical centre which was perfect as you get to see other beautiful parts of the peninsula. Secluded spot but still just a short drive from eateries in Nubeena.

  • Check in was at 2pm and and we arrived at 4:30. The key was not there and the house had not been cleaned from the previous people. We tried to call the number on the door several times with no success so we rang the owner who basically suggested we find other accomodation. By this stage it was after 5pm and there wasn't much around so we began to get very upset. After 10 denied calls and two grumpy text msgs we finally got through to the cleaner who came straight over and cleaned it. We completely understand it was a simple breakdown in communication between the owner and the cleaner and therefore would still recommend this cottage. it is a gorgeous little house with a beautiful view so if you need somewhere to stay in the area definitely check out Larus!
