Enjoy uninterrupted quiet on the Maine coast in our light-filled oceanfront cabin. Just 5 mins from lovely Boothbay Harbor for kayaking, sailing, hiking, seafood tasting, you name it! Or just relax at the cabin in a stunning natural setting.
Enjoy uninterrupted peace and quiet on the Maine coast in this sweet, rustic cabin perfect for artists, writers, or anyone else wanting to unplug and unwind for a few days or weeks. This charming cabin, built in 1982, is situated only 50 feet from the water's edge, and, with only one house visible through the woods, it is difficult to find a more private location than this. The cabin is of rustic design, with one private bedroom and single common area that includes a kitchenette, eat-in table, couch, and TV (no cable though). Above the common area is a loft with a double bed mattress, accessible by a wooden ladder. Off the common area is an enclosed composting toilet. There is no shower so all washing up must be done in the bath tub. There is no internet or telephone connection. The small wood stove is no longer functional, but three portable electric heaters are kept permanently in the cabin for any chilly Maine nights. Such simple living is certainly not for everyone, but can be a tremendous treat for those interested in enjoying this beautiful natural setting. The cabin looks over a salt river (Back River) which is part of the ocean but looks more like a river/lake due to the protection of Barter's Island across the water. The cove that the cabin sits on is tidal, which means that half the time you are looking at the ocean and half the time it is a natural mud flat. So the view changes every 6 hours! To enjoy the water to its fullest when the tide is up, a double kayak may be rented from the property owners at a very reasonable rate. The cabin is located 5 minutes drive from lovely Boothbay Harbor, a stunning destination for travelers of all kinds. Enjoy fine local seafood, kayaking, whale watching, sunset sailing trips, and the charming downtown with its quaint shops. There are also many beautiful walking trails through the Boothbay Region Land Trust, along with one of the world's finest botanical gardens at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, located only 2 miles from the cabin. The owners of the cabin live on the adjacent property so any questions or concerns can be immediately addressed.
  • This cabin is gorgeous and in a wonderful location. The host is extremely helpful and informative about the local area. If we didn't live so far away we would be revisiting on a regular basis.

  • The cabin was amazing, very clean and even nicer than the photos. The location was beautiful and very convenient.

  • We enjoyed our stay. The description was accurate and the place was secluded. Small and quaint and just what my husband and I needed to unwind. I loved how clean it was and the small little touches left by the owners. The tips and maps were a helpful touch as well. Thank you we will be back.

  • A very sweet cabin w/ all the comforts of home.... including an old fashioned, deep bathtub w/ plenty of hot water to soak in. It is right on tidal for kayaking but you need to be aware of high and low tides to avoid getting stuck in the mud flats. It is also a bit challenging to get the kayaks into the water right near the cabin. We had a lovely stay and plenty to do on the one rainy day we had, w/ Boothbay Harbor so nearby, the Botanical Gardens, etc!

  • Have you ever smelled brilliant fresh pine at the same time as wide open sea? Have you ever stood before water as tranquil or trees as still as a loved ones whisper? Do you love nature but prefer not sleeping out on the rough ground? Well, friend, you've stumbled upon a beautiful opportunity. Truly, a short stay here will refresh your entire life.

  • I booked this airbnb for a weekend getaway for my parents to celebrate their anniversary. They absolutely loved the house, which they said had a great location on the water and had a very sweet history of past renters according to the log book. Ian was quick to respond and gave lots of suggestions for places to visit in the area. Would highly recommend!

  • Words can't express the beauty and peacefulness of this unique location. Close to it all and yet far enough to escape, the river view will mesmerize you. The space is homey and everything we needed. We had a wonderful experience staying here and hope to come back soon.

Charming cottage on a beautiful island near marina, beaches, restaurants, and hiking trails. Wonderful mid-coast Maine location for lots of possibilities for outdoor adventures, antiquing, visiting art galleries and shops, and enjoying delicious cuisine. The cottage has everything you need for a peaceful getaway. Decorated with natural elements and local art pieces to get you in the mood for this beautiful location.
Here is the GuideBook I made for the space. It's under our other listing https://www.airbnb.com/things-to-do/rooms/14293135 Camp Fire available upon request If you need a later check out time, please request it :)
Robinhood neighborhood on Georgetown Island. Quiet road and peaceful, natural setting. Walk down the road to the AMC hut for water views and nice uphill climb on the way back. Less than a mile from the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse which has a variety of events including live music, Sunday brunch, WIFI, morning coffee, and pop-up restaurants. The Anchor Inn (Osprey Restaurant) and Marina are just around the corner as well. Only 10 minutes from Bath, 15 minutes to Reid State Park, and 50 minutes from Portland, makes this a highly desirable location!
  • Marcella's place is perfect for someone who wants a nice quiet stay in the area but not too far from local attractions. It was very clean and very cozy and well stocked with coffee, tea and essentials needed to cook meals. Check in and out was very easy. I highly recommend Marcella's if you are traveling to the area. If you are coming to the Shelter Institute, it is about a 15 minute drive but off Route 1 which is very busy and loud all night long. I know that because I switched to Marcella's place half way through my stay because staying off Route 1 was so loud.

  • This cottage is an absolute work of art, so clearly built by hand with care, and a place that honors Maine and the land and nature of this great state. Marcella and her husband are incredibly kind, communicative, helpful. Their cottage is delightfully rustic yet loaded with all the luxuries. It was a treat to stay here for two nights and it was so convenient to town, nature, ocean. I would highly recommend you book this if it’s available. It’s a perfect spot for a visit to Maine.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Island Alchemy cottage! It was an adorable place, and it was clean and had everything we needed. It's in a quiet, woodsy area while still being close to Bath; it was a great location for the things we wanted to visit in the mid-coast area. The state park pass was a wonderful extra (and the state parks nearby are very worth going to)! We would love to stay here again if we came back to the area.

    Nathan & Diane2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Alchemy Cottage was charming, comfortable, and clean. It was perfectly situated for our visits to gorgeous Reid State Park and fascinating Boothbay Harbor, with plenty of good seafood nearby. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

  • Nothing but praise re all aspects

    Bob2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • If peace and quiet is what you want, Alchemy Cottage is the spot! Unlimited wireless was a bonus since TV was pleasantly absent.

    Karen2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Well worth the price of admission , Marcella is super quick on responses which is great and the place itself is super cute. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend for my birthday and it was so quiet and peaceful and serene. The included park pass is a nice touch and I love the faucet in the bathroom! Will definitely stay here again!

    Chris2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to stay at a clean, tidy and very cozy place. The cottage is an experience in and of itself. It is very thoughtfully decorated and laid out. And Marcella is a lovely, considerate host. The area has lots of things to see. Mostly nature and state parks. There's a great beach and cute little fisherman's villages nearby. Then there's Bath itself, which is nice to check out. Marcella's got plenty of recommendations for the area and so do the locals.

Our property is on the coast of Maine. We are on the Sheepscot River, a tidal river that leads to the Atlantic and Boothbay Harbor You’ll love our place because of the outdoors space and quiet neighborhood. It is great for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). There is a link to a video walk-through on YouTube...just search for Maine 34 foot Airstream.
SilverCloud is an original 34 foot Airstream Classic 1000. Original wood trim and cabinetry. There is a queen bed in the rear, a breakfast/dining nook, and a sofa bed in the front, suitable for an additional adult or possibly two smaller children. Refrigerator, freezer, 4 burner gas stove, kitchen appliances and coffee maker. Full bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.
We are situated on a quiet dead end road at the end of Cross Point peninsula. The Sheepscot River is to the west, and the Cross River is to the east.
  • Great little Airstream with all the necessary amenities. The hosts are incredibly responsive and are always available if you need something. The location is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • The location of this place is amazing, peaceful and beautiful

    Michael2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this was perfect for my family weekend! The airstream is truly a gem...well maintained and very comfortable, yet gives you the cozy feeling of being in an RV. Even better, the location overlooks a tranquil cove where you can sit back and watch the ride come and go. A great balance of comfort and nature!

    Mark2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the Airstream is truly awesome, right on the ocean and very private from the main house on the property. It is also very close to Boothbay Harbor where we spent most of our time for excursions and meals. It was a truly unique experience staying in an Airstream which is something that we have always wanted to try.

    Jim2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great Vintage Airstream with an amazing amazing view on the Sheepscot River

    Carl2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay was just as magical as the first. We loved the nice touches like flowers and s’mores ingredients on the table. Staying in the airstream you get that rustic woodsy feel. We love it! And the lake is beautiful.

    Emily2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic experience that is authentically Maine. First time staying in an Airstream and, after such a great time, certainly not the last.

    Evan2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • loved the view of water, the outdoor spaces with decking with comfy chairs and a fire pit too. Airstream was plenty roomy for the two of us. Great water pressure in shower.

Catch a glimpse of the deer eating apples from a second-floor antique bed before a morning walk on the nature trail. Grey-painted wooden stairs that wind up to a white day bed is just one of the many personality traits of this charm-infused home.
Catch a falling star...comfy cozy beds ( I am all about a comfortable bed that won't hurt my back). Live in the country, be happy! These are close by: yoga, hiking trails, kayaking, botanical gardens, restaurants, shopping, boat tours, farmer's market (Thursdays), need I say more? We love this place ❤️. Come and join the fun! Oh, did I mention the outdoor shower? Sweet! Interesting fact...this house was framed with the trees from our property. The bed frame on the first floor was built with old beams from a house dating back to the late 1700's. We have been featured in DownEast magazine as well. Oh, and we did all the work ourselves, what fun it has been!!! This is truly a special place.
The Sparrow’s Nest is on a quiet country road, yet approximately 3 miles from downtown Boothbay Harbor, which offers restaurants, shopping, kayak rentals, boating excursions, etc. Sheepscott River, its coves and a nature trail are all close by. .
  • Suzie and her amazing cottage was by far the best AirBnb experience I have ever had. She and Neal built unique details into every inch of the artfully decorated cottage. From the outdoor shower, to fire-pit, to quaint balcony everything was well-appointed, unique and deeply cozy. Suzie was so personable we left wishing she'd adopt us! We would definitely stay here again and look forward to doing so asap!

    Justin2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie’s Sparrows Nest was the nicest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The beds were so comfortable and the house was incredibly charming. My husband said “I could live here!” Suzie went out of her way to make our anniversary trip special. Thank you!

    Heather2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy goes above and beyond to provide a warm, welcoming home away from home. I was so impressed with her focus on local and sustainable products from the lovely bath products to the kitchen amenities, including storage items. There were really special welcoming touches and the house had absolutely everything we needed for a cozy stay. The pictures are completely accurate in showing the space but even so I didn’t really register that the common sitting area (other than the kitchen) is on the second floor. That worked totally fine for us but it’s just a little different layout. I would strongly recommend this host-she’s wonderful!

    Laurie2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful building inside and out. The design is incredible and everything is arranged perfectly. Greatly enjoyed our stay.

    Samantha2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I booked The Sparrows Nest immediately when I saw it on Airbnb! I knew right away it looked amazing! The decor and design of the cottage looked right up my alley, and I knew my husband and daughter would love this charming place. We arrived after hours of driving and were warmly welcomed by Susie and her husband Neal. Upon entering the house I was pleasantly surprised at how much larger it was than I had anticipated! We were welcomed by a sweet chalkboard note to welcome us to their home along with some gourmet Maine blueberry muffins and apples from their own trees for breakfast! Each bedroom was furnished with gorgeous bed linens, and everywhere we turned there was more and more to ogle over with the decor. Susie left beautiful flowers in every room for us! In addition she had total communication with us at all times if there was ever anything we needed. She also had lots of recommendations for us as to where to look for antiques. Susie and Neal even left the fire pit stoked for our use should we have wanted to use it. Lastly, we left something behind and Susie generously offered to mail it to us. She really is the best host! My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer! What a treat! Do yourself a favor and stay here!

    Laura2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Suzie’s place was inspired solely by the cuteness of the cottage. I live in Maine, but I’m an interior designers and the photos of the Sparrow’s Nest immediately caught my attention. The place is my dream cottage, warm, charming, cozy and clean. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the beds are super comfy. It’s a perfect spot to stay and explore Boothbay, it’s tucked into the woods a bit, so you really feel as though you’re in downeast Maine, but it’s so close to the happening summer spots. Suzie was warm and welcoming and easily available to answer questions. I cannot recommend staying here enough!

    Annemieke2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This home is perfect! Suzie and Neal were so welcoming and made our stay amazing. We arrived to a cute note, sparkling wine (because we just got married!), and a snack basket. They set up the fire pit for us daily so we were able to enjoy it every night. The home itself is super cute and cozy. The location isn’t insulated but the heaters work phenomenally so we were never uncomfortable.

    Julia2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie was extremely accommodating! We stayed for 2 nights during our one year anniversary trip and she had the nicest welcome note and treats. She was great about giving us our space but was available as needed. She had really good recommendations for food, activities and places to visit. She thought of every detail and went so far beyond what we were expecting. The house has so much charm- we absolutely loved our stay!

Once the island Trading Post (in the 1820's) now serves as a private retreat on Westport Island. The whole property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. The building is nestled at the water's edge, half on land and half on stilts over the tidal waters of the Sheepscot River. The property has its own private deck, island, rocky beach, trails and hammock.
You enter into an open living/dining kitchen area with original counters & split lathe ceiling. The building has the 1820's rustic charm with 21st century amenities - 4 burner stove/oven, slate sink, microwave wave, refrigerator, cable TV and wood burning stove in the living area. Reverse osmosis water system. Two sets of sliding doors open to a large back deck that is completely over water. An outdoor seating area makes for a perfect place to watch the sunrise with a book or sunset while BBQing on the outdoor grill. King bed and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs - open loft 2 twin beds. Not suitable for young children.
  • Location was beautiful! Loved our stay!

    Lyndsey2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most peaceful getaway to the stilt house. We spent almost all our time in and around the house, and especially enjoyed the views and the cook stove/fireplace. We will love to come back!!

    Natalie2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot. Those looking for luxury will be disappointed, but if you have realistic expectations for the rustic Maine coast, this surpasses. Clean, well equipped and private, with the best views you can imagine. We will come back for as long as we can.

    Jon2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • If it is hot, the upstairs isn't ideal. This place is really for 2 people, not 4 even though it sleeps 4. Our kids 8 and 10 were uncomfortable up in the hot/smelly attic and ended back in the king bed each night. On the flip side, if it is just a couple, I can't imagine a better place!!!! we had seals and bald eagles in our own private bay!

    Ryan2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • The stilt house was an incredible one of a kind experience for our family. The location was unbeatable and it was a really great mix of rustic but with the right amenities. We loved walking the shore, kayaking and exoring the local towns. Alexandra was a great host as well. Highly recommend!

    Joe2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot! We went for a family getaway weekend over the 4th with out teenage children. It was so beautiful and peaceful - even better than the photos. Very comfortable!! We loved spending time on the porch and exploring the area. Hope to return!

    Liz2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfull in that place. The location, by the sea, is just amazing. It's a unique place to enjoy Maine seaside. The old house is very well decorated and well equiped. Renting the kayak is a must to enjoy the nature around. I specialy liked our early morning kayak ride just after the sunrise, with the morning mist on the sea, the ducks, loons and specially the seals ! Alexandra make it very easy for the arrival and the stay. It's a perfect place to relax far from the 4g and the internet and to enjoy the beautifull nature of the Maine. PS : Lobsters from the Coop in the north of Wepsort Island are so fresh and cheap. It would be a crime not to go there :)

    Christophe2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING! Tranquil location and stylishly rustic cottage. Love the artistic and functional touches. Definitely recommend renting the kayaks they have available. Floating around "seal island" and watching heads bob up and down in the water was awesome. Every cove we paddled into had some kind of nice surprise (waterfall, beach). We spent most of the time living on the sunny deck - so peaceful! The hammock was a nice resting spot too. Wish the cottage could comfortably accommodate 4 adults, but it's perfect as an escape for 2 :) And the Verizon connection was surprisingly strong!

John and Barbara (co hosts) and their very friendly pups want to welcome you to their one bedroom, one full bathroom guest house. The house is located in a very private setting with access to hiking trails, kayaking, fishing, swimming and more. Approximately 1200 sq ft of guest house plus about 10 acres of forest, waterfront and more to explore!
The guest house is a few feet from our home and the hosts are happy to be as helpful or as invisible as needed. It is a full sized house ( approx 1200 sq ft). There is a queen sized bed as well as couch (not a sofa bed) in the living area that could accommodate one other person. Kitchenette has a sink, refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave (but no cooktop)
This is a quiet and secluded property, filled with birds and wildlife. Guests are welcome to borrow a kayak or a pair of snowshoes and explore the woods and the water right beyond our property. We are 5 minutes from Wiscassett, across the river from the Chewonki Camp and School, 20 minutes from Bowdoin College, 45 minutes or so from Bates College, 10 minutes from Bath, and 30 minutes from Freeport, 45 minutes from Portland.
  • The house is the perfect size for a getaway. The salt mash is beautiful and great hiking / snow shoeing steps outside the door. Good food, downtowns, parks not far away. Barbara and John are great hosts.

    George2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • They were the most welcoming hosts I've ever had. They warned us of potential funky weather coming in (winter visit) which was really thoughtful and gave us awesome tips for places in the area to eat at/sight see. They have really sweet dogs which other people have mentioned too. If for some reason your not a big dog person I wouldn't let that deter you. Im a sucker for dogs, and especially larger breeds but I noticed they didnt let the dogs out of their home while checking us in until we had told them are totally comfortable with dogs. The cottage is amazing. Super clean, ton of space, super cozy. The property is incredible. It hits that sweet spot where it feels private and spacious but not isolated. Soft towels, good bed. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Salt Marsh Cottage was terrific! John and Barbara were warm and helpful hosts, and the cottage was comfortable, spacious, clean, and pretty. The view of the marshes was beautiful and we took a few walks around the property before venturing into Bath and Brunswick for some food and antiquing. The kitchen space is a bit limited (no cooktop), but there's a grill outside and some great nearby restaurants. We would definitely recommend Salt Marsh as a place to relax and reset. Loved our time there, and our hosts could not have been nicer.

    Kate2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • I stay at AirBnBs quite a bit, and I have started to feel bad about giving adequate stays 4 stars. But John has reminded me of what 5 star expectations should be! He personally greeted us and showed us around the cottage. The fridge was stocked with drinks and breakfast foods. The cottage was sparkling clean. There were even fluffy fuzzy robes for us to use. As John and Barbara live next to the cottage, they were available for anything we might need. And their dogs were a lovely welcoming crew - one even accompanied us on a hike down to the water and charmed us by barking to hear his own echo. I would recommend John's cottage to anyone staying in the area.

    Tricia2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our experience here was wonderful and exceeded expectations. The home is on a beautifully wooded plot of land adjacent to a coastal inlet, allowing for peaceful solitude, while also offering easy access to many lovely nearby small towns. The guest house itself was clean, comfortable, private, and well-appointed. We particularly enjoyed the access to kayaks, with a launch point to near-perfect kayaking water only 50 yards from the house.

    Derek2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was outstanding with this location. Hosts were attentive to every detail to make this a truly relaxing weekend getaway for us. The three dogs are a treat to get to know. We enjoyed kayaking and hiking right from the home. Wildlife is abundant and a definite plus... Thank you both so very much for our stay...

    Kate2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is an excellent value. The setting is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful retreat, with options for activities nearby. Lots of room and cozy at the same time. Barbara and John are wonderful hosts and are available in person or via text to offer assistance/suggestions. We were offered the complimentary use of their kayaks for a paddle in the salt marshes, which we gratefully accepted. Beautiful! I highly recommend this cottage.

  • Great stay. This home is exactly as the photos depict it. We enjoyed our time here and in Boothbay.

    Jared2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The photos give you a good sense of what you’re getting. You feel very isolated at the end of the road, which is nice. You can barely make out the next home through some trees. At the time of year I was there, the tides were very big, so half the day the water near the house was more like mud, which made it slightly less than the romantic spot I was hoping for, but we still enjoyed ourself. I wouldn’t plan on swimming next to the home though. Some local places will rent kayaks to your home too. There really isn’t a good place to put one in the water from the home, but perhaps you’re braver than I. All in all, I felt like it was a good rental and that all my questions and concerns were taken care of promptly.

  • Jan was a lovely host! The house was a great location for visiting the Gardens Aglow as well as restaurants in Bath. Having a small kitchen was a great touch to the place. We would definitely stay with Jan again!

  • Check in was simple and easy. Jan was responsive and accomodating. The jacuzzi tub was a nice bonus. We only spent the a night there but found ourselves with everything we needed easily. The space is also quiet even though it is attached to the main home.

    Huey Tyan2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodation, cozy but roomy. Especially enjoyed the tub! Jan is a thoughtful host, she even added a small christmas tree for us. Highly recommend this place for a midcoast stay, close to Portland as well.

    Gretchen2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, quiet, clean space. Just a short drive from the Gardens Aglow. Very easy to find with Jan's check in instructions & our gps. Thank you!

  • I loved relaxing at Jan's guest apartment! A great space that's not too small, not too big, just perfectly cozy. Nicely situated in the woods, but near enough to everything I wanted to explore. The utility kitchen is quirky, but definitely has more than enough for a quiet getaway!

Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven). Both structures have views across a river bay, and down river to where the Back River meets the Kennebec River (hence "Madawaska") just before both flow into open ocean, past Seguin Island (where George Washington commissioned a lighthouse). PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! AUTUMN VISITS: Come stay in the tree dwelling in Autumn for stunning views of foliage and crisp walks along the marsh back to the tree dwelling to warm up in the cedar hot tub. The dwelling is well insulated and warms up quickly with our top quality wall mounted heating units. Reid State Park, with its beautiful, sandy beaches and hiking trails, is just a few miles from us, further into Georgetown. Five Islands Farm and Gourmet Market is an excellent source of fine wine, beers, local produce, meats, cheeses, gifts. We are a ten minute drive from the town of Bath Maine, which has a great coffee shop (Cafe Creme), bookstore (the Mustard Seed), deli (the Living Edge), grocery store (Bracket's Market), health food store (Bath Natural Market), great yoga studio (Ebb and Flow), BBQ (Beale St. BBQ), fine dining (Salt Pine Social), Maine Maritime Museum, and locally famous Reny's! We are 30 minutes from Freeport, for original L.L. Bean store and outlets. We are 45 minutes from Portland, with its exploding, world-class restaurant/foodie scene.
  • After seeing the tree dwellings online I knew I just had to stay there. The view certainly did not disappoint. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax in the trees. The first night it rained all night and the sound of the rain hitting the roof was perfect. I slept like a baby. If you are looking for a place to stay look no further and make sure to book if you see an opening. Communication was a breeze and responses for always quick. Will definitely stay again if In the area.

    Claire2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • It was truly a pleasure celebrating our October anniversary perched up among the trees in this cozy Marsha’s cozy tree house. We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom overlooking, forest, salt marsh and water. It felt very private and we even left our curtains open bathed in the full moonlight. We appreciated that the kitchen and bathroom were in a separate space from the bedroom (bring slippers). The petite kitchen has a hot plate and dining table if you want to eat in. To my husbands relief, we found a coffee maker! The water was nice and hot and good pressure. The owners chose Tea Tree Oil shampoo and conditioner and. Dr. Bronner’s body wash for the shower…perfect for the tree house. We also noted a hair dryer under the sink. One of our favorite things about the tree house was the screened in porch where we had coffee in the morning and late night talks in the evening overlooking the forest. We sat with candlelight in the Adirondack chairs listening to only the sounds of nature. Marsha was kind enough to leave a pass for Reid State Park and we enjoyed walking the beach and paths and climbing the rocks. We spent time in Bath exploring the books stores and coffee shop and restaurants. Per Marsha’s suggestion, we made our way to Waldoboro to visit the Morse's Sour Kraut Market & Deli which was amazing. Overall, We had a wonderful stay at the Madawaska Tree House and we appreciated all the design details. Thanks to Marsha for a great stay.

  • A sweet, sweet cabin with sweeping views. Fancy? No. Lovely? Yes. A simple place--living in the woods. Just wonderful.

  • Our second time this year! We love the setting and the area. Discovered some more hiking nearby and enjoyed time in Bath, Brunswick and Wiscasset. Can’t recommend this enough even if it means more competition for bookings!

    Pierre2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great getaway from my husband and I! Everything was wonderful and the tree house is great! Far enough away from things so you can enjoy the quietness, but can easily drive into town for a bite to eat. Just a suggestion for people who do stay here, is the bathroom is not in the same building as the bedroom so in the middle of the night, you have to leave the bedroom and go outside and go into the other building for the bathroom. So just make sure you have slippers or something to be able to walk in the middle of the night. But we will definitely be back!

The historic farmhouse is airy and offers cozy and simple comfort including original wooden floors and other features. The house is not high tech, but has updates for convenience. Relax in the huge screened in porch in a private, beautiful setting with wildlife and take a short walk to the ocean(pebble beach and island). The house sits high on a hill overlooking apple orchards. When leaves are out, limited ocean views.
The 200 year old farmhouse is spacious and gives guests plenty of room to stretch out in. The bedrooms are all different, there is a central reading room upstairs and a lovely large screened in porch overlooking the rolling fields and orchards. We have three bedrooms that in keeping with the theme of a country home. We have the Victorian room with a full sized authentic antique bed and the the marble topped bureaus to match. The Dahlov room has a queen bed, with original Dahlov Ipcar prints hanging on the walls. The Ocean room is in the various shades of the sea and has an 1830 Himmel canopy twin bed. We have added another twin to make it a great space for mother/daughter or friends. Our little single room has a twin bed. There is a full bath upstairs and the stairs going up are steep. The house is clean, linens are nice and you will find plenty of towels. Downstairs is a dining room, living room with satellite tv, kitchen and large porch. There is wi-fi. The house is not high tech, It is a great place to unplug with our board games and hundreds of books. We want our guests to have everything they need to enjoy their vacation.
The home is located in a very unique location. This farm sits at the top of a hill on a 28 acre island connected to beautiful Georgetown Island by a causeway. There are only 5 homes scattered around the island, so it is a property very secluded, but close to many activities. There is a seasonal excellent resturant a half mile away.
  • We had a great time at the farm! The surrounding area was beautiful, and even though we came after the end of the season, we still found plenty to eat and do in Bath. The boat cruise and exhibitions a The Maritime Museum in Bath were a highlight of the trip! If you get tickets on one of their cruises (we did the lighthouse cruise), you get two free days if admission to the museum— this made the cost of the cruise more than worth it! Liia was also a great host! She had a fully stoked kitchen and even left us supplies to make pancakes. Unfortunately, our time in Georgetown was cut short due to a terrible storm that knocked out electricity to half of the state, but Liia was very communicative during this time and helped advise us on finding another place to stay for the rest of our vacation, and also made sure Airbnb refunded us for the days we weren’t able to stay. A very helpful host overall!

    Andrea2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second visit in one month! Last time for work retreat, and this time for family. We got to visit with the Liia's family too. Really nice. It's just very family oriented. Low key. Clean and charming. Heat worked very well for cold weather. Liia is very easy to reach to borrow a cookie sheet or foil. Though the building is connected with the owner, the stay feels very private. No worries there. The island is wonderful. The smaller island at low tide is easily accessible. Reid park nearby is great. Worth getting a Maine park pass ahead of time. Five Island Lobster nearby is also great (closed now for season). Sure hope to return next year!

  • We had a wonderful two nights at Leia’s. She is a very gracious and helpful hostess and we loved the house and the island. It was also a great base to explore Bath & the nature preserves at Boothbay. We’d love to come back one day!

    David2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • I think Liia's place may be all around the best "value" in all of Maine. We wanted a place near/at water's edge, and looked at practically every available property on AirBnb, and this house had the most space and the least cost. The place is as described, a very old but very charming - and spacious house. We used it for work retreat - and was able to work on 3 different tables throughout the day (depending on the outdoor temperature), play games in the living room, and eat elsewhere. It's great to take a break from work and walk around the Island, or at low tide, to walk across to the smaller island. The place is very quiet. The owners are very discrete - we rarely saw them. Liia had really nice hospitality touches - we had coffee, jam, bread, crackers, half 'n half when we arrived. We even had the opportunity to meet the two beautiful horses. I already rebooked for a second visit. Only advice for future travelers: during mosquito season, spray not just your exposed skin, but anywhere where your clothing is thin and tight. The mosquitos here seem to be able to sting through thin fabric. Luckily, the mosquito season is pretty short I understand.

  • Great location for a family trip.

    John2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Liia was a wonderful host, and I can't say enough good things about the farmhouse. We loved being there, and I want to go back just to sit on the porch, or walk to the little island. Thank, Liia!

Spacious, welcoming, 4 bedroom home offering incredible views high above the Sheepscot River. Enjoy comfortable beds, windowed+ open eating/living space, woodstove, sliding doors to wrap-around deck and a luxury jacuzzi. Heated outdoor shower, BBQ, hiking, ping-pong, laundry, bicycles, & trail (with stairs) down to deep-water dock. Entirely private, yet 10 minutes to Shaw's grocery, acclaimed Tarbox-Inn dining, Wiscasset and Red's Eats. A fantastic place to explore the beauty of Mid-Coast Maine!
Get away from it all in this entirely private, newly painted and extremely clean oasis overlooking the Sheepscot River. Lounge on the sunny deck mesmerized by the gorgeous views, watching the birds and the occasional lobster boat. Then pick some fresh herbs and grill up a feast, or relax inside and watch a DVD. Swim or fish off the dock, or bring your kayak, then head out to the brand new private outdoor jacuzzi, filled with delivered spring water, to soothe your tired muscles. At night the brilliant stars overhead will remind you that we live in a crowded universe, even though you'll be far from the madding crowd.
The Westport Island community is year round, with some summer visitors at the far end of the island. Our house is easy to access yet secluded and relaxing, without traffic or tourists. It is easy to go for long walks or bike rides on roads that are paved but have almost no traffic, or on wooded and coastal trails. Yet it is only ten minutes drive to a full service Shaw's grocery with a Redbox video rental. About 7 miles away is Wiscasset, home of Red's Eats, the world famous purveyor of the best Lobster Roll in Maine. There is also a gourmet wine/food shop, great coffee, ice cream and kettle corn shops, a music museum, a public dock for swimming and kayak rentals, and a scenic train tour up the coast. There are multiple other seafood restaurants there and on Route 1, as well as in Bath (20 minutes) Brunswick (home of Bowdoin College's theaters and art museum, 25 minutes), Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor (where you can whale watch, rent fishing boats etc). Nearby beaches are gorgeous, including Popham (40 miunte drive), Reid State Park (30 minutes) and family friendly Thomas Point Beach (25 minutes). Woolwich also has a warm freshwater swimming hole (20 minutes). Wiscasset Community Center boasts an indoor Olympic Pool and hot tub, a gym and weight room, as well as free public tennis courts at the high school.
  • It’s an amazing spot. My partner and I rented the space for a long weekend - just the two of us. We came to see the colors (apparently it’s a “thing” - I was unaware. They call um tree peepers) The view is amazing, perfect turn of the season colors! The amenities were outstanding. The hot tub was clean. Eve had a lovely book of tips about the area and she responded quickly to all of our Qs. I felt well accommodated. We took the kayaks out and had a lobster boil. **I will say that for two people & a long weekend, the cleaning fee was a bit high for us. It’s hard because on air b&b you don’t see the fee until you’re trying to book. I would suggest staying for at least a week to make the fee worth it - its worth the stay!

    Jane2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Eve's home was lovely! The wrap around windows show the spectacular views of the woods and the river. The hot tub made our stay perfect! Eve was always available for questions and a nice gentleman down the road provided us with wood and lots of insider tips for walks and hikes in the area.

    Kathy2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great house with great views of the water from its decks. We particularly enjoyed using the charcoal grill and the sun-soaked living room. House is tucked away and very private, but fairly close to both Bath and Wiscasset by car. Would stay again!

    Paul2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Eve’s place and I would love to come back ten more times ! The weather was perfect and the view just can’t be beat. Hot tub under the stars ... fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need... local seafood feast... chicken on the grill.. it’s the perfect place. Thanks again

  • A beautiful space and location.

    Douglas2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We spent hours sitting on the spacious deck looking out at the view (there is not a single photo that does that view any justice!). The house had everything you would need including a full kitchen, plenty of linens, bikes, and lawn chairs. Eve put together a wonderful welcome book that not only gave you the basic instructions for the house but included places to visit, restaurants, local attractions, etc. This was our first visit to Maine and we loved it. Thank you Eve for making the experience possible!

    Theresa2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing ! Even nicer than the pictures. It’s homey but spacious and clean, the view is spectacular and the house has everything you could need! Eve is the BEST! I will definitely be coming back in September and will hope to be back again! :)

  • Looking for a waterfront off the beaten path place? This is it. We had 4 adult couples and four kids and we did fit. Spacious deck and common room was great. The dock was the best part. Do yourself a favor, grab a couple dozen oysters from Scully’s, a bottle of white wine and spend an afternoon shucking them on the dock to the view of lobster traps, osprey and bald eagles, and an occasional seal in the distance. Great stay!!!

There are 3 nature preserves with great walking trails. There is an historical Inn a few miles down on the main road. They have goats and chickens you can visit. They also serve pizzas on a Monday night during the summer. Right near us there is a place to feed some alpacas and they also have a little deli shop selling wine, cheeses, a few crafts and other local fare. There Is an organic farm on the island that sells their veggies at the local markets. They also have an organic micro brewery called Sasanoa Brewing. They do a tasting once a week.

  • Five of us spent 9 days at Roni’s Cozy Cottage. We were searching for someplace remote. Somewhere to be away from things yet close enough to drive to places for food and fun. Perched high up off the water we found exactly what we were looking for. If you stopped and listened all you could hear was the breeze through the trees, the sound of birds and the crackle from the fire pit when lit. Traveling was my wife, me, and 3 of our children (4,8,11); we had plenty of room. Most homes in Maine do not have a/c and sleeping with the windows open was very comfortable. Roni and her husband were very hospitable. We required a larger pot for our lobster feast one evening and they were quick to let us borrow one of their own from their home. The cottage offers WiFi and cable tv. I did have to use the WiFi for work but we never tested the tv. The kids kept busy with exploring outdoors and playing board games that available in the cottage. We took day trips to Bath, Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Beach and Rockland to name a few. We always looked forward to the quiet atmosphere of the cottage when our day adventures were through. A great stay had by all. 😄

Wiscasset was a prosperous seaport in the late 1700s and the town has been registered with the national historic society since 1974. Many artists live and work here and Main Street's galleries, antique stores, and restaurants are an easy walk away.
  • Sea Salt is lovely - and Ammi's blueberry muffins are spectacular. We can't wait to return!

  • Amazing charm and incredibly thoughtful touches. The village is amazing and the Cottage makes a PERFECT way station for exploring the coast, the shoppes and beyond. We would definitely return!

  • The Sea Salt Cottage is adorable. It is in an old home so there are a few quirks, but it adds to the charm. Ammi was very helpful and the muffins she provided were delicious. The offerings of tea, coffee and milk and butter were nice touches. We enjoyed the books and info for the surrounding area. The bed was comfy. We only stayed one night but enjoyed ourselves. ~ Davida Stafford, Virginia

  • The Sea Salt cottage is in a central location on Midcoast Maine, with so many beautiful places within an easy drive. Ammi is a gracious host, and gave us great tips on the best places to see within our time frame. The space is beautifully done, with lots of thoughtful touches throughout. Ammi truly thought of everything! We can't wait to come back to Maine and the Sea Salt!

  • Our second time at Sea Salt; we can’t wait to return again next year! Seriously, this is a highlight of our year. The most relaxing place to stay with special touches everywhere. Super comfortable bed, beautiful linens, private bath, and kitchenette with a fantastic selection of teas and coffee. Not to forget, the amazing blueberry muffins! Ammi Bai is a wonderful, caring host, who is also a talented artist! I love that some of her artwork hangs on the walls of Sea Salt, and she has a beautiful small gallery of her artwork right next door. We cannot say enough good things about Sea Salt AND Ammi Bai!

  • I had three months in USA and Canada, but these last three wonderful weeks in Wiscasset were unforgettable. The Sea Salt Cottage is such a good place to rest. At all times I felt welcome and I enjoyed every conversation with Ammi very much! There was so much to discover in the Mid Coast Region and Ammi always supported me with excellent tips. I'll miss her, along with her well-kept garden, the tastefully decorated rooms and of course the delicious muffins. Thank you for every recommendation, especially the trip to Monhegan Island!

    Eva2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! This was absolutely the sweetest place to stay. I am so glad I found it. Every little detail about the cottage was perfect. So clean, fresh, comfortable and welcoming! Everything I needed was provided. Ammi was the sweetest and so informative. Loved getting to hear about all the great places around. The blueberry muffins were AMAZING! And such a sweet treat. I was so sad I had to leave, as I was truly enjoying every moment of being there. The flowers and greenery were gorgeous! All the special touches in the cottage were perfection. It couldn’t be any better. Definitely hoping to stay again and longer next time!!! If you need a special getaway spot, this for sure is it!!

    Krystal2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The house and room were lovely. I made two suggestions; hopefully Ammi will follow through with them. She an her family were very sociable. I love Maine. It was nice to have a little kitchenette. Would love to go back.

  • I stopped in for a single night while in the area for work and found the flat warm, tidy, and comfortable with a bowl of chocolates out on the table. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable and I slept like a rock the whole night. Hope and Jeremy were really lovely, accommodating, and gracious hosts, and I especially loved that they were thoughtful enough to give me suggestions of things to do and see tailored to my interests like Pemaquid lighthouse, Dodge Nature Preserve trails, and Fort Edgecomb — I’m only sorry I didn’t have more time!

Freshly renovated inside and out, the cottage is your private Maine camp. Located on an acre and a half of wooded grounds, and surrounded by forest, the cottage feels secluded, but it’s only a mile to the restaurants, shops, and waterfront attractions of bustling Boothbay Harbor. With hiking trails in the Pine Tree Preserve that adjoins the property and the Lobster Cove Meadow Preserve a five minute walk up the road, you can also explore nature and enjoy the solitude of the woods.
NOTE: Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Bright and airy with high ceilings, the cottage has an open concept living room, with a ceiling fan, queen sized sofa bed, Roku TV, and DVD player, and fully equipped kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, and the makings for a continental breakfast. There is a snug bedroom with a queen sized bed and a spacious bathroom with a claw foot soaking tub that has a handheld shower sprayer. Both the bedroom and bathroom have skylights, so you can enjoy a view of the stars and the trees from the tub or the bed. You can enjoy your meals at the breakfast nook in the kitchen or on the spacious screened porch. The cottage is comfortable year round thanks to brand new insulation that keeps it cool in summer and warm in winter with the assistance of a propane “wood stove.” The cottage is detached from the main house with a private entrance and parking for one or two vehicles.
The property is surrounded on three sides by the 160 acre Boothbay Region Land Trust Pine Tree Preserve with a network of hiking trails and a lovely pond and the Lobster Cove Meadow Preserve with even more hiking trails is a five minute walk up the road. If you want great coffee, tea, baked goods, or homemade soups, visit our neighbors at the Farm 23 bakery just a short walk from the cottage. Please ask us for restaurant recommendations or any other advice you may need about the neighborhood.
  • Nathan is incredibly hospitable. We enjoyed fresh baked goods each morning and they accommodated for my wife's gluten allergies. The space was thoughtfully put together and very clean. The gas stove kept the space warm, and we were surrounded by trees! There was a bit more road noise during the day than we expected, but it was very quiet at night. It was a short drive to downtown Boothbay and conveniently near a grocery store. We enjoyed our stay!

    Daniel2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful space! Stylish yet rustic.

    Justin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to spend Leap Day! The cottage was adorable, comfortable, and super clean. The extra touches of homemade local treats and piping hot scones delivered to our door were fantastic. The bathtub is divine. Even the stars in the sky seem brighter. Highly recommend!

    Heidi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our 4 night stay at the McCobb Cottage in Boothbay Harbor. It was clean, well equipped, and close to local hikes, drives and attractions (many of which were suggested by Nathan himself). We were able to cook most of our own meals, but also enjoyed a delicious dinner at the nearby Thistle Inn. We hope to come back. Scones or home-baked bread every morning, and local beers in the fridge were a very nice touch!

    Volkert2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nathan’s place is such a cute, cozy spot in a great location! The bed was so comfortable and the tub was a dream. We especially loved the full bar set in the kitchen and how aesthetically pleasing all the kitchenware was, we had fun making dinner and drinks! Nathan makes fresh scones every morning as well that were delivered right to the door, so yummy. They have clearly put a lot of thought and care into this property, highly recommend!

    Jenny2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nathan and Kate’s cabin is the best place for a weekend getaway that we could have imagined. The cabin was sparkling clean, so cozy, and we enjoyed the DVD and board game collection. The local cider, homemade yogurt, and homemade scones delivered fresh to our door in the morning were amazing touches. We will definitely be back!!!

    Georgia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect hosts that truly care about you, their beautiful little cottage and your Airbnb experience. Their place is very close to the harbor, tastefully decorated and comfortable, and has everything you need. They also provide so many extra little surprises for their guests and were very warm and welcoming. During our one night stay, we had a magical view of a full moon shining on the trees in the back yard, making the ice covered branches sparkle. It was truly a special sight. We left the next morning, after an outstanding breakfast of their homemade granola and yogurt and fresh baked scones that were delivered to the door by Nathan. You will LOVE it.

    George2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful, the perfect weekend getaway! Nathan was extremely responsive and the breakfast scones were delicious. The cabin is tucked away into a private nook of the woods, but just moments from downtown Boothbay and other amenities!

Unwind at a classic Maine cottage in Georgetown just 1.5 miles from the beach at Reid State Park and near all the beauty and activities of Midcoast Maine. The cottage sleeps 4 with 2 queen bedrooms, with an additional single, and 1.5 baths. Whether you like beaches, history, dining, hiking, kayaking, fishing or just beautiful places, you will find too much to do in only one week. Rented by the week from Sunday noon to Saturday noon. Possible to start Saturday evening some weeks. Please ask.
Nestled in the woods, the newly refurbished cottage sleeps 4 with a combination of two queen bedrooms and an additional single bed on the upstairs landing to allow flexibility. Downstairs is a 4-season dining porch, a cottage-sized great room with living room and kitchen, one queen bedroom and a full bath with washer and dryer. Upstairs is the second queen bedroom with en suite powder room and the single bed on the landing. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary tools - including a lobster pot if you want to steam your own (ask us how to get "boat price" lobster from a local fisherman. Or to-die-for clams to steam...) Georgetown is very beautiful but technologically challenged - which is really just as well since you will be so busy exploring mid-coast Maine. The cottage has WiFi, a TV, DVD player and Roku for free channels but no cable or satellite . The maximum speed available on the Island is 10 mgs which is fine for watching TV and movies. Cell phone coverage at the cottage is spotty but is fine if you go just 1.5 miles north to Five Islands or south to the Georgetown Country Store.
The house is 1.5 miles from the beach at Reid State Park, OR a lobster with a quintessential Maine harbor view at Five Islands, OR the equally classic Georgetown country store. In case you want to drive more than 1.5 miles, Georgetown gives you easy access to mid-coast Maine. It is just a few miles to the historic city of Bath, with dining, shopping and the Maine Maritime Museum (check out their boat tours, by tour boat or on a schooner, for a fun and easy way to get on the water). The next peninsula south from Georgetown has Popham Beach, including a Civil War fort and the site of the 1607 Popham Colony. Or go to the next peninsula north - picturesque Damariscotta and lovely Boothbay with more shopping, scenic views and the Maine Botanical Gardens. On your way visit historic houses in Wiscasset to explore Wiscasset's shipping heyday, brought to a crashing close with the Embargo of the War of 1812. Or maybe the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland to immerse yourself in Andrew Wyeth?
  • A well supplied kitchen, excellent location, a super short drive to a lovely quiet beach, a lovely island and lovely cottage. Elisabeth also left some really helpful and thoughtful tips, was very responsive to any questions, and really helped make our week-long Maine stay superb. Definitely a super host. A big plus: I was there doing some work and was glad to find the wifi reliable and decently speedy.

    Ken2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Elisabeth were very kind and gracious hosts. The cottage is accurate in their description of it and its location. They were tremendously helpful with local attractions and tips for acquiring lobster, as well what restaurants to visit. The cottage was very clean and nicely appointed. Cozy place! Price is very reasonable. We're looking forward to returning soon. Highly recommended.

  • We loved our stay at this charming cottage. Elisabeth was very responsive and thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. If you love daily trips to the beach and evening quiet camp fires this is the place to be!

Sara's unit is: charming, comfortable, equipped with all the amenities we needed, conveniently located, in a lovely setting and has scenic views. I highly recommend Sara's unit for your stay in the Edgecomb area.

  • Sara’s cottage has everything you need! For a tiny house, it is very comfortable and did not feel too small. Views are gorgeous and close by to many fun coastal towns. We hope to visit again soon.

  • Heaven on earth! Couldn’t have asked for more!

    Pam2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s place is absolutely idyllic. I felt like I was in one of those “over water” resorts. The cottage is impeccably decorated and the use of space is spectacular. The location is super-convenient. We walked across the bridge to dinner in Wiscasset one night, went down to Freeport to do some shopping, and explored Boothbay. The cottage was well equipped with all of the basics and a basket of delicious snacks. Thanks, Sara!

  • What a charming little cottage with beautiful views! I used it as a writing retreat for 5 days and it was perfect! Clean, comfortable, with all of the amenities I needed and more. If you are sensitive to light, you may want to bring eyeshadows because the sun rises over a skylight in the bedroom.

Lounge dockside or venture to the rooftop deck where you are completely private from your neighbors. Close to Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater, Freeport and 25 minutes to Portland.

  • This was a nice place with a great view. The fireplace is very cozy. It was easy to visit Portland, Freeport, and Brunswick.

    Heather2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Snowed our last night there, and lost satellite connection, but other than that, no complaints! Super cozy.

    Renee2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is well-decorated and very comfortable and cozy. Staying there in the winter was amazing because the fireplace is very effective at heating the place; the temperature is very easy to set to whatever you desire (including quite warm, if that's what you want). The furnishings and decorations were very nice, and the kitchen has a large counter with modern appliances and all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to cook. We enjoyed watching ice float down the inlet as the tides went in and out. There is no WiFi in the cottage (as described in the listing). AT&T had decent cell coverage but T-mobile was very slow. The place was also extremely well-stocked with towels, blankets, and linens. There was ample hot water for the shower.

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. Gorgeous views from the house. It snowed while we were there and they had someone plow the driveway which was great since we only had 2 wheel drive cars. The fireplace was very nice as well!

    Kerri2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great little get away spot, close drive to town and local attractions. Beautiful view of the river. Close to street, but easily able to cancel out traffic sounds with music, white noise machine options. Very clean and nice layout to just relax. Loved the fireplace - kept us toasty on cold days.

    Tess2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful spot on the water.

    Sorcha2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend. We saw the bald eagle mentioned in previous reviews and were even able to take a closer look with the provided binoculars! The tv is HDMI compatible and we hooked up our IPad and binged Netflix in front of the fire for hours. The store/restaurant is just a few yards to the left which is very convenient. The street can be noisy at night, so I’d recommend a fan or white noise machine for light sleepers like myself. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to come back in warmer months too!

From our living room a wall of windows take in the expansive views of Barter's Island upward to the ocean. Relax on the sunny deck and listen to the birds and lobster boats and watch the seals on the ledge at low tide. Enjoy a comfortable space with fireplace (unfortunately not for use), deck and full galley kitchen, the quiet of Westport Island and adventures of midcoast Maine.
Enjoy the quiet of two acres on a lovely quiet road along the Sheepscot River. We have a pond and an amazing view of the river leading out to the ocean. The in-law apartment is attached to one side of our house but has it's own entrance and deck. The apartment has all the amenities that you will need on vacation. The kitchen has a coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, and cooking equipment. We also have a charcoal grill.
We love the drive on East Shore Road overlooking the Sheepscot River with it's dips and curves around coves and inlets. There are lovely antique homes and quaint New England architecture along the way. To get to East Shore Road you will experience the diversity of Maine traveling through the middle of Westport Island. There is a wonderful preserve not too far away for hiking and several others on the island to explore. The town of Westport has a boat launch on the Back River side of the island which is a great place to kayak.
  • My partner and I visited for a long weekend in October to celebrate his birthday. I was expecting a relaxing weekend with a lovely view and to say that Rick and Mary’s place did not disappoint would be an understatement. It was cozy and comfortable and the view was even better than I imagined. This was a perfect place to settle in and escape. We watched seals for hours, played games, enjoyed some local eats, and could not have been happier with our stay.

  • You'll love the view and the serene setting! The apartment is a very comfortable place to kick back and relax. After a day out, we enjoyed coming back at night to play board games and read in the comfy living room. Bonus: dishwasher and laundry machines in-unit make clean up fast and easy. Highly recommend!

    Andrea2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The property is exactly as advertised, which is to say quiet, peaceful and picturesque. Mary is a great host and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

    Dan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This has to be one of our favorite finds in all of the 20+ years of traveling to Maine. Westport Island is away from the crowds and an absolutely peaceful place to enjoy the best of Maine. The pics do not do the view justice. Our favorite activity was to simply sit on the deck with a glass of wine and listen to the seals and loons. Absolute heaven. The apartment is perfect for two with a well-stocked kitchen with everything needed and thoughtful touches like kitchen towels, cloth napkins and the like. Bed and pillows are comfy and the sofa in the living room is the perfect place to watch the loons dive and lobster boats out on the water. A perfect stay!

    Tom2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's and Ricks space was comfy clean and very peaceful. The view was just amazing. Highly recommend staying with them!

    Joseph2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a paradise all it's own. It has everything you could want to have a relaxing vacation. Mary is an extraordinary host!

    Michaela2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful views over the water. Seals, dolphins, osprey. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Well-appointed kitchen.

    Preston2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem and is every bit as gorgeous as it looks in the pictures. The views (floor to ceiling windows with views of beautiful sunrises, seals off the deck, osprey soaring...) and scenery are amazing, the apartment is very clean, nicely decorated and well outfitted (we stayed in and cooked two out of the three nights). Bed is very comfortable! Mary and her husband Rick are perfect hosts. They gave us lots of tips on things to do but they also gave us plenty of privacy and we felt like the apartment was really “our” place. We had a perfect weekend and fell in love with this area in Maine. So unique and versatile. Especially enjoyed our kayak trip to the Trevett country store for lobster rolls and our hike of the Bunyon Preserve. Westport island and this beautiful place is well worth the trip!

Bea’s Place is your home away from home for your family vacations in Midcoast Maine. This spacious and comfortable 2 bed, 2 bath home in Bristol sleeps 8. It stars a fully stocked, beautiful, contemporary cook’s kitchen with a large 5 burner gas stove and convection oven. French doors lead out to a deck with a propane grill. The upstairs bath features a clawfoot tub. Downstairs in the finished basement is the rec room, with futon, polished concrete floors, full bath and washer/dryer.
Throughout this home, you’ll appreciate the rich wide pine flooring and tile work, relaxing nautical-themed color palette, and ample picture windows. Enjoy the large farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and wine fridge in the kitchen. The finished basement recreation room is perfect for a hangout area, with a television, DVD player, board games, pool table, ping pong table, dartboard, and more. Local craftsmen and artisanal items can be found throughout this home, including local hand-milled soaps and furniture. We also provide a pack-n-play, and a travel bassinet if needed. The home is easy to find from the main road, but is still quiet and calm enough for the most relaxing vacation. Smell the blooming lilacs and rhododendrons in the spring, or watch the foliage change in the fall. Outside, enjoy the propane grill, patio furniture, and beautiful south-facing deck. A large back yard is perfect for young ones to play in. There is an outside security system enabled for your safety with perimeter cameras that usually only capture some local wildlife such as foxes, and sometimes a visiting honey bee. We take great pride in our home, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Bea’s Place is nestled almost squarely between downtown Damariscotta and Pemaquid Point, just a 10-15 minute drive in either direction. Local events include the Oyster Festival, Pumpkin Festival, Bristol Days and so much more. Just down the street is the 1812 Farm, a popular venue for weddings and other large events. Because of the close proximity, Bea’s Place is perfect for large families attending an event there, or for bridal parties who need space to get ready for the big day. Further down the road, High Hopes Farm is a working farm that sells fresh produce, flowers, and meat. Be sure to grab some on your way to the house! For a filling and tasty breakfast, check out the Bristol Diner down the street. Or if you want to drive a bit further there are many other options depending on the time of year. If you enjoy swimming there is the swimming hole at the Bristol Dam, or you can enjoy the sand and waves at Pemaquid Beach. There will be a binder full of local information at the house for you to look through.
  • Thanks you Theresa, awesome house and outstanding hospitality. Convenient location!

  • Great place for small families or 2 couples. Beautiful kitchen, 2 bathrooms, laundry, thoughtful touches & great hospitality. Great communication, close to several harbors & the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse just 8 miles south...enjoyed our stay there!

    Sherry2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bea’s Place is a cozy yet modern home. We enjoyed exploring Pemaquid Point, Damariscotta, daytrips to Boothbay Harbor and Bailey’s Island. The owners were quite accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or issues. We were a party of 6 and had sufficient room. We enjoyed being able to have breakfast and dinner at the home, as the kitchen is well equipped. Should we visit the area again we will definitely consider Bea’s Place.

    Beth2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is THE perfect place to stay if you're on a trip to Maine. It's centrally located, an hour away from Portland, 2.5 hours away from Acadia and 3 hours from more inland stuff like Baxter State Park. Fifteen minutes away is a gorgeous and pretty private lighthouse. The house itself is organized to the T, the instructions are super clear and the kitchen is a dream come true. Perfect place, homey, cozy, highly recommend.

    Zohaib2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Theresa’s. It was close to Pemaquid, New Harbor ferry to Monhegan Island, and Damariscotta. Wonderful kitchen!

    Linda2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great weekend with my friend in Theresa's house. The setting is very quiet and relaxing in the countryside. The residence is well thought out and everything is there to feel good. The kitchen is a great place to cook and hang out !! I would love to have the same, undoubtedly! My only downside is the side of the mattress, for my part, I prefer less firm;) I enjoyed a pleasant stay in Bristol and its surroundings, I definitely recommend!

  • This cottage has a wonderful view overlooking a tidal bay. We spent hours just relaxing and watching the tide come in or go out. There was lots of birds to watch. The location is conveniently located to Boothbay Harbor, Bath, Camden, Rockport, etc. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are just 10 minutes away. There is a lot to see in this part of Maine. The kitchen is well equipped and made for a pleasant stay. As a tea drinker I especially appreciated the tea kettle. Our host was helpful and friendly.

  • House was beautiful and the setting could not have been more perfect. We would not hesitate to recommend to others. Only drawback was the sofas and mattresses are very old and could use replacing.

Stay in our custom designed tree dwelling w/ wood-fired cedar hot tub up among the trees! This unique structure is perched atop a 21-acre wooded hill sloping to water views. Enjoy stunning views from the King size bed through a wall of windows. Located in a classic coastal Maine village w/ Reid State Park's miles of beaches + famed Five Islands Lobster Co. (See 2 other tree dwellings on our 21 acre property listed on AirBnb as "Tree Dwelling w/Water Views." See our reviews!).
Part modern tree house, part tiny house, this abode is called "Souhegan" (which means "Watching Place") because of the gorgeous views of the river and neighboring conservation land. The dwelling consists of two elevated structures connected by a rope bridge (structures are elevated on posts and trees); a second rope bridge leads to a wood-fired cedar hot tub elevated up among the trees. We've used vintage and salvaged materials when possible. STRUCTURE #1: a two-story structure: master bedroom on the second floor (accessed via a SPIRAL STAIRCASE), with a wall of south facing windows affording stunning river views; includes KING SIZE BED (or two twin beds upon request); on the first floor is a small kitchen and dining area (with large windows for water views), a small full bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rockers and river views. Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven) and, importantly, cork screw! STRUCTURE #2: is a convertible space with a wall of water-facing windows. UPON REQUEST (for an extra fee of $20 per person/per night, this fee includes labor of converting the living room space into a bedroom + extra linens and towels for the extra guests), we can set it up as a second bedroom (with either King size bed or two twins, do let us know at least one day in advance) or we can set it up as a living room space with sofas and coffee table. There is a water-facing veranda off the front of Structure #2. PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! There are 2 other tree dwellings on our 21 acre property listed on AirBnb as "Tree Dwelling w/Water Views." See our reviews! WINTER VISITS: The tree dwelling will be available 11 months out of the year. February 1-Jan 1. IN WINTER MOTNHS WE CAN ONLY HOUSE 2 GUESTS IN THIS DWELLING. They stay super cozy on cold nights, and there is no better time of year to sit in the hot tub, snow flakes swirling around you. Warm up after a day of cross country skiing or snowshoeing. THE VIEWS: Both structures have views across down the large tidal Back River. In the distance you can see where the Back River meets up with Kennebec River just before both flow into open ocean and past Seguin Island (where a light house was commissioned by George Washington). Across the Back River from the land lie hundreds of acres of pristine conservation land. Part of the year, this tree dwelling will be used for the Seguin Artist in Residence Program at the Back River Institute, which is under development. Use of KAYAK's and CANOE's are included with rental and available at anytime during your stay

  • Beautiful location on a tidal cove. Floor to ceiling windows on one-half of cottage made you feel as if you were outdoors, when you were in fact indoors. Easy to get to all spots in Harspwell, Brunswick, and Bath

  • This is a lovely spot in a gorgeous, private location. The kitchen is well-equipped, the washer and dryer are first-rate, and all the comforts of home are at you fingertips. Highly recommended!

    Patrick And Rob2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this loft/cottage. The property is gorgeous. Watching the tides come in and out with the sunrise and sunset were one of our favorite things to do. The loft is gorgeous, and spotless. The kitchen is a nice size, and allowed us plenty of room for cooking which we enjoyed. You are close enough to shopping and restaurants that you don't feel like you are in the middle of nowhere once you leave the property, but you are far enough from the road to feel like you are in your own private world. Very relaxing! Heads Up: If you aren't a morning person (we were so it wasn't a problem) be aware that there are no blinds on the side of the house facing the water, so you will be up at sunrise every morning. There are also some very active turkeys and roosters across the street who like to serenade you throughout the day! We found it charming, and kind of hilarious after a few days, but it is something to keep in mind. You don't normally hear them inside the house though, so that's a plus. We highly recommend this property!

  • Great little cabin I loved the details like the hammock and the park bench in front for overlooking the water or watching the sunrises in the morning.

  • The house exceeded our expectations on every level. We thoroughly read through previous reviews and agreed that Your Island Connection took every critique to heart and modified their abode for subsequent offerings. We booked the house for Thanksgiving weekend and packed the car with everything necessary to cook a hearty meal. We were surprised at the full offerings of kitchen necessities including a Henkel knife block and martini shaker. Although the house seems isolated, there is a surrounding neighborhood, something that put my girlfriend at ease. The genius layout has the expansive windows facing only the water, nothing else. You feel alone, but there is a surrounding community. The loft bedroom was perfect to escape and get a solid night's sleep. It became toasty quick with the additional heater and thick down comforter. We brought extra blankets but felt we didn't need them. The loft was small, but we could fit the dog's large crate and covering with little issue. And it was quiet enough when she needed to settle down she did so without complaint. Upon check-in you get professionally laundered linens, we were short 2 pillow cases but my girlfriend found some in the closet we could use, proof that this house has every item you could possibly need for a stay. It felt like a real summer rental and we could have only brought clothes and been without complaint. Every morning you can watch the working lobster boats motor out from their moorings and carry in their daily catch. During low tide we took the dog to explore the silty shoreline and look for sea glass. The house was perfect. It was so perfect that I asked my girlfriend to marry me while sitting in the living room on Saturday morning. We are already planning our return trip.

  • Always a great sign when you're planning your return to the rental next year within an hour of arrival. Impeccably decorated space with stunning views of Card Cove. Relaxation manifested. We enjoyed magnificent sunrises, all kinds of weather, and generally embraced the calm as we watched the fishermen come and go in their boats. The privacy was spectacular, despite the absence of any curtains on the windows, aside from the bathroom. One house nearby, about 2 acres away, but otherwise a totally private house with room to roam. Neighboring turkeys and chickens, who greeted us upon arrival, provide a steady but pleasant farm-like soundtrack any time you're outside. If you don't like cockadoodledoos at 7 AM, and 7 PM, this might not be the place for you. We didn't mind them in the least, and you can't hear them inside. Living room area had somewhat spartan furniture; pullout couch (we did not use the pullout) and two chairs, one a rocking chair, and a flat-screen TV with decent cable access. Ultra-fast Wi-Fi. A bit of a challenge to watch TV from the couch. The kitchen was fully stocked with every implement/pan necessary for making tasty meals. The fridge was on the smaller side, and getting ice trays into the freezer without spilling them was quite a feat. Be sure to use the griddle to make pancakes (with local syrup, duh). Coffeemaker initially posed a challenge, but the hosts promptly resolved it. Nearest larger grocery store is Shaws (very nice!), or WalMart, about 10 miles away, so best to stop on your way in. The bathroom and laundry area was excellent, and spotlessly clean. Water pressure not the greatest but not terrible, either. Huge shower! The bedroom, lofted over the living room, had a pretty low ceiling, but high enough that you could walk around without bumping your head if you paid attention. Views of the cove from up there were amazing; so nice to lay in bed watching the sunrise. The bed itself was quite firm, and the sheets were definitely not high end. We'll bring our own next time. Also didn't find any extra blankets lying around (fortunately we indeed had brought our own, in anticipation of using it outside, which was a brilliant move). Surrounding area was gorgeous, should you desire to venture away from the house. Check out the nearby Giant Stairs and Land's End Gift Shop. We got a wonderful lawbstah dinnah at The Dolphin, a nearby seasonal restaurant (closes at the end of October). Convenient to Freeport (outlet shopping) and Brunswick (home of Bowdoin). We are eager to return!

  • Perfect locale and cottage! The cottage was the perfect size for me and my pups and the dogs had room to roam outside. Loved all the windows and the morning sunlight! Very clean with all the necessary amenities. Communication was good and the local info was helpful. I would definitely stay again!!

  • This is a perfect getaway for a couple. We had a low key time sitting in the dock, having a fire in the evening and just RELAXING. You can see the water from bed and everywhere else in the home. At first we were confused when we saw the trailer on the property and were concerned about privacy but it seems to be unoccupied or a project being worked on. We had easy access to everything we needed throughout the house; kitchen supplies, grill, puzzle we did throughout our stay, fire pit etc. If I had to critic anything negative it would be the coffee maker isn’t too great. Besides that, I highly recommend staying here!

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
This amazing, light-filled cottage packs a lot of comfort and sophistication. The simple contemporary design becomes quite dramatic with soaring ceilings in warm wood and is softened by comfortable upholstered furnishings. The pond is closed to motorized watercraft, making it a perfect place for paddling in the available kayaks, canoes or rowboat. This lakefront property also features a deck overlooking the lake! It's the perfect place to enjoy your meals or snacks since it provides a comfortable picnic table and even a gas grill. What's nearby: Located just a few miles from Coastal Route 1, Damariscotta or Boothbay, guests will enjoy easy access to day trips in the area or can choose instead to unwind in this serene setting. Fort Edgecomb State Historic Site is the premier tourist spot in town. Built in 1808, the fort was a stronghold for the port of Wiscasset and saw a lot of action during the bloody War of 1812. High Head Point is a favorite spot nearby for picnickers in the summer and leaf peepers in the fall. Things to know: Full kitchen (with a dishwasher) Dog-friendly! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Built in 2016 on Marjorie Farm's 230-year-old property, the Crow's Nest offers a private, well-appointed retreat in a rustic setting. Enjoy loft-like ceilings and abundant light in this meticulously renovated second floor of our barn. It's a perfect "home base" for solo adventurers, couples, and families who want to take advantage of all Midcoast Maine has to offer while relaxing slightly off the beaten path. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, hiking, museums, and farmer's markets.
*** THIS IS A CLEAN PLACE *** The reviews speak for themselves, but we've also implemented additional deep-cleaning procedures with disinfecting wipes in between all stays. Wipes are also provided for guest use (along with plenty of hand soap!). Staying in a rural setting in the Maine countryside is also definitely an act of "social distancing." :) *** THIS IS A SAFE SPACE *** For you and your family, regardless of race, religion, orientation, gender, or identification...if you come with love, we would love to host you. *** THIS IS A SUSTAINABLE PLACE *** We recycle and compost. We use recycled, non-bleached paper products, reusable cleaning cloths, and as many "green" cleaning products as possible. We follow sustainable permaculture practices for our crops and animals, provide wildlife and pollinator habitats, and cultivate deep relationships with the land. *** HOME-BAKED TREATS *** Guests staying for 3+ nights will be greeted upon check-in with some home-baked Maine blueberry muffins. Brew up some of the complimentary coffee and you've got the perfect breakfast in bed. All guests booking a 1 week+ stay receive a discounted rate, and also also get their choice of a unique baked good courtesy of Nina. Menu available upon request. ;) The property’s main farm house was built in 1790—when George Washington was president! Later, the owners expanded the kitchen and added a new section of the house plus the deck. The barn and driveway were then added. In 2015, Nina and Ian bought the property and named it Marjorie Farm (after Nina’s grandmother). Nina’s parents, Beth and John, then built the Crow’s Nest above the barn in 2016. They wanted a place to stay when visiting their two adorable grandchildren. This 500 sq. ft. living space is a perfect size and has everything efficiently laid out! The western-facing windows give excellent light and gorgeous views of the woods. You'll hear country sounds – many different birds, the occasional neighborhood dog, Tikki Tikki Tembo the rooster (and if you're lucky, the donkey down the road), rain tapping on the steel roof, and wind in the trees. You are a short distance from canoeing streams, hiking trails, beaches, restaurants & shopping, historic and tourist sites in Bath, Brunswick, Wiscasset, Phippsburg, Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, and more. The property is 4 ½ acres and includes a large planting and livestock field, fruit trees (apple, pear, peach), a garden area (to be developed), chicken coop, horse pasture, wood shed, and forest. Nina’s dad grew up on a farm in Illinois exactly this size and configuration. Nina’s childhood was filled with stories about John’s idyllic life there, and she was determined to have a similar spot of her own. She and Ian searched high and low after moving to Maine and finally found this perfect location. They have many plans for the future here and are glad to be able to share their paradise with their guests. Welcome!

  • The Crow's Nest is a wonderful and beautiful place to stay! It is a comfy loft apartment on their farm. We loved seeing her horses hanging out in their side yard when we drove to or from the apartment. We enjoyed a nice long weekend slightly unplugged from our everyday lives. Nina provided very clear instructions for checking in and out. She kept us informed of a power outage and how that could potentially impact our stay. We all decided to play it by ear and the power came back on before we arrived. I appreciated both her transparency and flexibility as a host. She also provided detailed instructions in the rental manual as well as notes throughout the apartment. I highly recommend staying at the Crow's Nest if you need to make the great escape to Maine!

  • Charming loft apartment, well appointed, like new everything! Be sure to read the instruction book so as to not partake of food/wine there for owners only.

  • This is a very pleasant get-away for a stay in Maine, removed enough yet still very convenient to get to nearby towns and resources needed to enjoy a vacation. Looking forward to our next stay!

Experience the airiness of life up among the pines in Georgetown, ME. Unique structures perched atop 21-acre wooded hill sloping to water views. Set in classic coastal Maine village with Reid State Park beaches and famed Five Islands Lobster Co. River views from the King size bed, through wall of windows. 4 Day minimum (but if you see an opening between other bookings, drop us a note - you'll have to select a random 4 days to contact us.)
Part tree house, part tiny house, this abode is called "Isle au Haut" ("High Island"), named after an island in northern Maine. The dwelling consists of two elevated structures connected by a rope bridge (elevated on posts and trees). We've used vintage and salvaged materials when possible. STRUCTURE #1: a bedroom, with a wall of south facing windows affording stunning river views. Includes KING SIZE BED (or two twin beds upon request). STRUCTURE #2: includes a small kitchen and dining area with large windows for water views, a small full bathroom, and a screened-in porch with rockers and river views. Kitchen includes: two-burner stove, sink, small fridge, pots, pans, dishes, toaster oven (no regular oven). NOTE on PICS: the exterior pictures included here are actually pictures of our other tree dwelling ("Madawaska"). Madawaska's two structures are connected by a deck, as you can see, whereas Isle au Haut's structures are connected by a rope bridge. PLEASE NOTE: as much as we love pets we have a strict no-pet policy in our dwellings! AUTUMN VISITS: Come stay in the tree dwelling in Autumn for stunning views of foliage. The dwellings are well insulated and contain heating units. Use of KAYAK's and CANOE's are included with rental and available at anytime during your stay NOTE: We also have a brand new tree dwelling with a wood fired cedar hot tub and a second bedroom, which can be converted into a living room space upon request. See our listing on Airbnb called "Modern Tree Dwelling with Water Views and Cedar Hot Tub"
We are located in the picturesque coastal village of Georgetown, Maine (which includes Five Islands). Reid State Park, with its beautiful, sandy beaches and hiking trails, is just a few miles from us in Georgetown. Be sure to visit the Five Islands Lobster Co., for best lobsters, lobster rolls, fish sandwich, corn on the cob--and harbor views. Five Islands Farm and Gourmet Market is excellent source of fine wine, beers, local produce, meats, cheeses, gifts. Also check out the Robinhood Free Meetinghouse online for local live music events. We are a ten minute drive from the town of Bath Maine which has great coffee shop (Cafe Creme), bookstore (the Mustard Seed), deli (Live Edge), grocery store (Bracket's Market), health food store (Bath Natural Market), great yoga studio (Ebb and Flow), BBQ (Beale St. BBQ), fine dining (Salt Pine Social), Maine Maritime Museum, and locally famous Reny's! We are 20 minutes from Brunswick with Bowdoin College, Sea Dog Brewery, Gelato Fiasco!, coffee shops, great restaurants and bar/restaurant/hangout (Frontier), indie movie theatre with couches (The Starlight). We are 30 minutes from Freeport, for original L.L. Bean store and outlets. We are 45 minutes from Portland, with its exploding, world-class restaurant/foodie scene.
  • The treehouse is amazing. I recommend planning on spending time at the treehouse and at Reid State Park. We really enjoyed the quiet and the views and left as little as possible.

    Katie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a slice of heaven on earth. The breezes blowing, the leaves rustling, the views of the bay and inlet, the bridge connecting bedroom to the kitchen & bath was fun and made us feel adventurous. Just a remarkable place. The design was rustic and yet had everything one would need. Just so thoughtfully and tastefully done. We loved the treehouse and our time there!!

    Rachel2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical! My boyfriend and I love to visit Maine and this was our second time visiting the tree house. If you want to completely relax I highly recommend booking this tree house!

  • The perfect spot for a relaxing getaway!

    Amber2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. It is cozy and the small space is very well thought-out. We loved sitting in the screened deck and taking in the morning views (chilly in September, but still nice!). The location is great; you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but it’s still very close to small local stores, shops, and small towns are not far either. Marsha is very helpful and provided many suggestions of things to see in the area. We totally planned our vacation around this beautiful Airbnb, and it was a great relaxing and nature-y experience. I’m not usually one to repeat trips, but I’ll be very tempted to visit here again someday!! Thanks Marsha!
