West Saint Paul Vacation Rentals

Just booked in West Saint Paul

This lake home in the woods feels like a private retreat but you're close to everything. Soak in the hot tub, grill on the deck, or enjoy the fire-pit...all while taking in lake views. Enjoy!
My house offers the perfect getaway. It has lots of space and is very private...you have the place to yourself and no one will bother you.
  • What a beautiful location! I had the most amazing and relaxing stay here while I was visiting Minneapolis on business. Loved the lake, canoe, the property and of course the hot tub! Steve was a great communicator and the house was clean and comfy. Will definitely book again for future trips. Thanks Steve!

  • This was my first Aribnb experience. It could not have gone better! Steve is right on top of things - especially in terms of communication. I had a lot of questions as a first timer. I received a response for every question I asked within a few minutes of asking. The house itself is really, really great. It is on the end of a cul-de-sac and there are no neighbors on the side of the house. It felt very secluded and private. There is also ample parking available. Steve even messaged to ask if we needed an air mattress set up - when we arrived, the office was all set with an air mattress - which was unexpected and appreciated! There is a grill on the back deck, a hot tub with views of the lake, and plenty of room for relaxing in the living room. Steve also provided a great print out on the table listing advice about the house and the neighborhood. All in all, a great experience!

  • This was by far the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. Steve's house has everything you need, including the little things like spices, condiments, soap (in case you forget your own). There are plenty of entertainment options and strong wifi as well. The location is excellent. Overall an awesome experience and I will definitely stay here again.

  • Steve's home was exactly what we needed. A beautiful home by the lake, fully furnished, cozy and clean, after some days of hard work it was a pleasure coming home to relax. Couldn't think of a better place to stay, hope to be back soon!

    David2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was nice house for the group of people like us.

    Minji2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house, great amenities and really outstanding customer service. We definitely are coming back!

    Rachelle2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's house was the perfect location for us during our stay in Minnesota, and the cleanliness, amenities, and general ambience couldn't have been better. We drove from New England to MN for a family emergency, and being able to relax in such a comfortable and luxurious location was invaluable. The house is within close proximity to grocery stores, as well as a community facility called The Grove, with a full lap pool, kids pool, and exercise / cardio equipment. While we couldn't really enjoy the outdoors in the negative temperatures, the view was great, and the location felt very secluded and private. As a host, Steve bent over backwards to ensure that all of our needs were met, and since the reason for our trip was of a stressful and unpredictable nature, he was willing to offer flexibility on the duration of our stay. This was our first time using Air BNB, and I have to say I think it will be difficult to ever top this experience if we use it again. Thanks Steve!

  • Peaceful getaway near the city! House and amenities were exactly as described; beautiful interior, comfortable and relaxing. Great view of the lake and a fully stocked kitchen ready to supply all one's cooking desires. Lots of safe, free parking available and wood for outdoor fires. Steve was an excellent host; responsive, upbeat, generous, and flexible with schedules. Hoping to be back again this summer to appreciate the lake and beautiful landscaping.

  • Darling little house in a convenient location. It was exactly as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Even though I ended up not staying, the host was very accommodating and the place looked really nice. I would book again.

    Laura2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint old house that fit me really well, and would have fit 1 to 3 more people too. I really liked the location overlooking the Mississippi River, even though it's a bit off of the beaten path. It was exactly as described. All was great except it was a four out of five in the cleanliness department, not passing the "girlfriend" test. I would stay here again.

  • Quiet, Cozy, Beautiful View. Great communication.

    Kyle2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A nice little place if it's just you and maybe one other person. There is no cable or DVD player on sight so bring entertainment; wifi was also troublesome. Overall a quaint house.

Historic Home on Summit Avenue with amazing views of the Cathedral and accross from the James J Hill House. The Unit was completely renovated, and is cozy comfortable and totally private. Located on the 2nd floor of the home with seperate entrance.
  • Beautiful apartment on the most beautiful street in St Paul. The pictures are very accurate. The apartment is new, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being next to the cathedral, and the view of the city is outstanding. The off street parking was helpful too. Great place!!!

  • Fabulous location. Accessible to so many restaurants and wonderful walking trails. House is clean and newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. Just a heads up of stairs are an issue. Two full flights of stairs to the master bedroom. Also, second bedroom is more suited to younger kids blowup mattress is on floor Communication with Jean- Claude was easy and he was always accessible. Very accommodating.

  • Jean-Claude is a great host! Very clear directions to everything you need to know. His location is within 10 minutes of everything you want to do in St. Paul. Close to restaurants and shops, about a 15 minute walk if you are up to it. Very quiet location, off street parking and beautiful view of the Cathedral. I would stay here again!

    Charlotte2017-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jean-Claude was fantastic. - very friendly and attentive. The place was very well done, clean and parking was convenient. The location is awesome - in summit avenue area. Really nice to be able to walk along summit ave and look at the historic homes. The apartment had great views of the cathedral as well. Great place to stay when visiting St Paul!

    Danielle2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space was what we were looking for, with a 19 and 17 year old along with us, they wanted their own space. The place was furnished nicely and the location is absolutely awesome! Lots of places within walking distance to eat and drink. It was rather hot when we stayed and while there is a new wall mounted a/c in the main living area, the upstairs two rooms shared a single window unit. We had a skylight in the main bedroom that helped though. The only things that would have made our stay better would be a small microwave to reheat leftovers from the wonderful food in the area and access to broadcast TV, although the Netflix account access was sufficient for my kids. Loved the back patio where I sat and drank coffee in the morning. Overall a great value!

    Albert2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Second visit to Jean Claude's lovely home on Summit Avenue. Last time was in March/April so St Paul was a different place in terms of heat! Lovely home nd the garden was in full bloom too. Lovely option of either sitting in the lovely garden area or on the cooler stoop which was often the preferred option for ourselves given we come from the chillier climes of Scotland! He's a great host and Mark the caretaker is very attentive and friendly if things need attention or questions need answered- had a slight problem with h Air Con on this occasion but Mark got this sorted immediately. Location on the doorstep of the magnificent Cathedral (4th largest Cathedral in The States) is beautiful and of course you are at the top of the Summit Avenue/Selby Avenue loop which is perfect for strolls/brisk walks/jogs. Make sure you check out Laurel Avenue which is sandwichd between the two and the birthplace of local hero F Scott Fitzgerald.

    Eddie2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Timely communication. Promptly Addressed the only minor concern that we had.

    Jeff2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jean-Claude made us feel welcome with emails and delicious coffee. The neighborhood is great. The only problem is inadequate air conditioning in the master bedroom. Having a property mgr. easily available was nice and weekly cleaning was great. Remodeling in kitchen and bathrooms was done with high quality fixtures and appliances. Very attractive. On site parking is a definite plus.

  • This is quite the find in the St. Paul area, and we had a lovely stay here. The townhouse is beautiful, clean, spacious, comfortable, and well-located, and Josephine is a helpful and communicative host. If and when we come back to the area, we'd love to stay here again! In short: highly recommended. Thanks, Josephine!

  • I stayed at Josephine's place for a one night but i wish I was able to stay for longer. It is such a beautiful house. She really kept the place. The only thing is I wish I knew enough about the neighborhood to see there wasn't much to do if you don't have a mode of transportation. All in all, beautiful house and very accommodating host. Thank you

  • The place was very beautiful and cozy. There is a beautiful view of the Mississippi. Location was prime, only problem was parking can really get pricey if you choose to park in ramps or sometimes finding a meter to park at can be a doozy, but over all Mike was a great host and I will be looking forward to making future reservations.

  • Beautifully renovated house. Mike met us when we arrived and the house had everything we needed. The kitchen is gorgeous with everything needed to cook full meals. There are 3 Queen size beds, 2 of which were memory foam, but all were very comfortable. This house fit 6 easily and was one of the best houses I have had the pleasure of staying in. Highly recommend!

    Sienna2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as good as it looks on the listing - clean, spacious and well-equipped. Mike was exceptionally helpful. He allowed my son, who lives nearby, access before we arrived, jet lagged from the UK, to stock up the fridge with essential provisions. Mike also kindly bought an electric kettle especially for us so that we could make cups of tea easily and quickly - very important for us Brits! A great place to stay and a great host.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Bonnie's home. Her yard, gardens and home were beautiful, and it was a fun space that felt like home to us, too!

    Stacy2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie's house is both beautiful and cozy with a gorgeous gardens that follow you throughout. The house sits on a quiet dead end street which I loved because I like the privacy and lack of traffic but the neighborhood itself is very central and close to all the hip towns in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Bonnie is super nice and attentive, I would definitely plan to stay at her place again when I return to Minnesota.

    Yuly2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was very welcoming and friendly and the house is beautiful. I'd gladly stay there again!

    Jaco2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Dont be fooled by the pictures and the reviews. You are not getting the entire home. This host has 3 separate posting for this hone and the one I got which offers 3 beds and 2 rooms its the attic of the home which you have to access through some side door on the home and have to climb about 40 steep steps. Add the fact that one small room that contains one of the beds is rented out to a college student

    Carlos2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie and her dog, Fred, are wonderful hosts: welcoming, warm, generous and hands-off if that's what guests want. Her home is beautiful, but not just a showpiece - it's a loved, lived-in, antique-filled haven full of personal touches and comfort.

    Sarah2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was an amazing host. Definitely my favorite stay at an Airbnb. The apartment was awesome and the house itself is in a beautiful location and such an amazing house. Bonnie and John did everything they could to make out stay amazing. Bonnie even drove us to our show. Some of the nicest people I've met. I would stay again in a heart beat!

    Kristian2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Bonnie was a very kind and accommodating host. She had no problem with me checking in late a night and was there to let me in and show me around when I arrived. She was very talkative and kind and had a very clean, beautiful house.

  • Bonnie was so accommodating and kind, and the place is beautiful. Really great update to a historic home. It's a quick car ride to downtown St. Paul, where we enjoyed dinner and a concert. Can't say enough about how nice Bonnie was to our dog, too. Thanks a bunch!

  • This place is located in an community with pleasant and quiet atmosphere. It’s designed with an acute artistic and classical taste, which can be seen from the bunch of decorated peppers and cups in the kitchen to the niche and fireplace in the living room; from the painting, table lamp and water facet in the restroom to the curtain, wardrobe and drawer in the bedroom. It is clean and cozy. There are kinds of flowers and art sculptures in the outside garden with stars clearly seen above the sky. The host is easygoing to get along with. She is glad to offer possible help. I pretty appreciate that she lends an early morning drive to me around 6 for Marathon.

This private room in the heart of prestigious Cathedral Hill is quiet and sunny—a perfect place to rest in a uniquely decorated Victorian home. You have a private fridge, microwave, coffee maker and tea service, and the room has its own lock. The luxurious bath, kitchen and living room are shared. Grocers, cafes, drugstores, and coffeeshops are close by, as are major highways and downtown Saint Paul. Parking across the street in front of the house is ample and safe.
Besides some beautiful living plants, you have an in-room fridge and microwave. The house has forced-air gas heat and central air conditioning, but you also have a fan as well as control of the temperature in your room. The garden is truly superb, and the neighborhood is the very best for strolls. Walk four blocks to some of the finest restaurants in Saint Paul, or stop at the nearby grocery and deli. It's all close and all convenient.
Beautiful Cathedral Hill is the Silicon Valley of the nineteenth century. The so-called robber barons who built the railroads lived here, so the Hill was home to the rich and famous. Every known variety of architecture is represented on Summit Avenue, just two streets away, and the oaks remaining from what once was an oak savannah cast shadows on parapets and witches' peaks. There's no better neighborhood for strolling and gaping. Restaurants surround us, and shopping is nearby and plentiful.
  • It was a wonderful week being in Tess's beautiful house! A very nice over hundred years history house, well decorated, everywhere you see the greens, everywhere you feel comfortable just like at home. Tess is a very warm house owner who makes the house more delightful. She is brilliant with wide knowledge and she is very kind to let me know the attractions of the city and tell me about some interesting city cultural history as well. A wonderful experience for me. I definitely recommend it and will come back again.

    Jane2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and I could not be more happy or satisfied. The home was as beautiful as the photos, immaculately clean, well organized and very cozy. There are many interesting pieces of art, plants and decorative items which add to its warmth and charm. Tess immediately made me feel welcome not only with her personal tour of the house but with detailed information about shops, markets and restaurants within walking distance. She always had delicious homemade treats to share along with the morning coffee she nicely provided. Tess allows for guest privacy but is also willing to share her time me in very interesting conversation. The bright, cheerful bedroom is extremely quiet and comfortable with plenty of closet space, empty drawers and good lighting for reading in bed. I especially appreciated the a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. The large, shared bath was very clean with a great shower and tub for relaxing. The home is located in one of the most beautiful sections of "old" St Paul with unique mansions and quiet tree-lined avenues just made for enjoying with long walks. Street parking is readily available on this block and public transportation is nearby. I look forward to returning to this "home-away-from -home" and exploring more of St Paul and Minneapolis. I would highly recommend staying here on either short or long trips to this area.

    Judy2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tess' house was the perfect retreat and she was a truly wonderful host. The room was cozy and so comfortable, with great morning light. Tess was incredibly communicative before and during my stay, and stocked up some fruit and other items I requested. So thoughtful! The house itself is a grand Victorian, decorated with care and character and the bathroom might be the most charming and warm room in the house! The back garden is lush and peaceful and I spent an entire day back there, just listening to the birds, watching various wildlife and feeling the breeze (being there in June certainly helped on the weather front!). Tess was warm and helpful and I felt absolutely at home, whether visiting with her and the other guests or on my own. The neighborhood is spectacular - tree lined avenues with gorgeous old Victorian homes and easily walkable to historic Summit Ave and great restaurants/shops on Selby and Grand. Tess had great recommendations and I feel so lucky to have had the chance to stay there a little while. It's also super easy to get to Minneapolis and/or downtown St. Paul if you have a car. Found the entire trip smooth and most of that started with my home base of Carson House. Highly, highly recommend!

    Rebecca2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tess was a great host. My arrival time was late, so we made arrangements for me to get in and settled. The next morning we were able to meet and get oriented in person. She was knowledgeable about the neighborhood. In the mornings, she left coffee in the coffeemaker ready to be brewed to help me get underway with my day. The location allowed me to do a lot of exploring on Cathedral Hill on foot. I had a wonderful stay.

    Roger2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tess is a kind, caring and generous host with good values! Her house is beautiful and in a lovely neighborhood. She also has an amazing garden in her backyard! This was my first time in St. Paul, and I made arrangements to stay with her last minute. She graciously took me in and offered me advice on things to do in the area, like going to see music in Como Park and walking to different spots nearby. She was very hospitable and even has a piano! What more could you ask for? Very positive first AirBnB experience for me, would do it again.

    Sammy2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tess has a beautiful and charming historic home in a lovely and safe area close to downtown St Paul. The bed was comfy and I slept great which was important since I was working a lot. The best part is Tess is a perfect host and extremely thoughtful. Fast wifi, yummy snacks, great coffee, nice house, the perfect AirBNB stay!

    Margaret2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tess was very welcoming offered to have coffee ready to go if needed, and provided water in the room. The room also had a small microwave and refrigerator. The house has a separate entrance and nice yard for relaxing if desired. The location is great in a historic neighborhood with plenty to do within a few blocks walk.

    Brian2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Tess's charming little single-bed room and shared the bathroom with her. Nice CLEAN place with separate entry so you can come and go as you please. Tess is a great host. Excellent communicator.

  • We enjoyed Zachary's house for a week in June for our son's wedding. It was a perfect base for our extended family with three bedrooms and plenty of common space (including an awesome deck and front porch). The neighborhood was a real treat too - friendly neighbors and quite tree-lined street a few blocks from several beautiful parks. We appreciated the AC units on the days when the temperature got hot. Zachary was a great host, very responsive and everything had been thought through. It was perfect for us!

    Dan2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in a nice neighborhood, convenient to every place we needed to go. The deck is really nice. I'm sure it's not an issue most of the time, but the only drawback was the lack of A/C. It was a hot weekend.

    Mark2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, in a residential area that's really quiet but close to downtown St. Paul. Beautiful woodwork, stained glass, cool claw foot tub, vintage furniture and modern kitchen amenities. Nice VHS collection. Our pup loved the fenced-in backyard and chasing squirrels. We went to Babani's Kurdish Restaurant which was unique and tasty (try the lemonade, also homemade baklava!!) and took some time to explore downtown. Had a nice hike at Minehaha Falls, highly recommend a visit there. Zachary was very easy to communicate with and accommodating as we were looking for a place on short notice. Thanks again!

  • Nice home in a quiet area. Well-suited for our needs.

    Andrew2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Not sure when the house was built, but I was really excited to see the push button light switches which were in my grandmother's house when I was little. It definitely matches the place. Older and well used. It's far from fancy and new, but it was very comfortable for a place to relax in between visits to relatives. Has all of the basic needs covered. Everything listed in the description is accurate. Zachary was easy to contact and his responses were prompt and helpful.

    Susan2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Minnesota home away from home!

    Sara2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous summer at Zachary's place. The neighborhood is great the neighbors are wonderful the yard is beautiful and the house has so much character! The location couldn't be more convenient to St. Paul Harriet Island and the airport. we wanted to stay longer but unfortunately it is such a great location and had already been rented out for September.

    Marilyn2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • If your focus is friends and family you will want for nothing. It is a perfect place for food, fun, friends, and family. The kitchen is the cutest with everything you need. I cooked every meal. The back yard space is amazing. They have the best collection of board games. I can't wait until next year!

  • I had a wonderful time staying with Chris and Sue. Their place is beautiful - charming, clean and quiet, with lovely natural light and great furnishings. The whole experience was smooth and pleasant and it was really great meeting them. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others staying in St Paul.

  • Christopher and Susan's home is lovely. They made us feel at home enjoying the tranquil gardens and deck. Happily we were there during raspberry season and Susan left a bowl full for us each morning. We would definitely stay with these great hosts in their happy home again.

  • Our hosts were ever so helpful and friendly. You should know that one needs to climb a good long flight of stairs to the apartment. Once you get there, it is very nice and bright. No living room - just an area of one bedroom with a couch. One bath for 3 bedrooms.

    Marybelle2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher and Sue are gracious hosts, a kind and gentle presence. They are responsive to particular needs while not being helicopter hosts. The apartment is a most welcoming space, warm and cozy and with all the conveniences of home. We loved the neighborhood, beautiful old homes and diverse architecture, very close to, but across the river from, downtown St. Paul, which offers a bit more solitude. Our stay there was great, a cool place to retreat to during two very full days of work-related celebration.

    Bill and Victoria2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Everything cared for and as promised. I am deathly allergic to cats and did not have any difficulty staying in the upstairs. Hardwood floors and radiator heat kept any cat dander out

    Sander2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher and Susan have a lovely place! Four of us stayed comfortably here before the Twin Cities Marathon. It was perfect - only a few miles from the finishing area, nested in a beautiful neighborhood. Their home and yard is well kept and charming. The welcome snacks were a plus and the kitchen had all the cooking essentials we needed to make a hearty meal. We would come back!

The West Seventh neighborhood is one of the oldest in Saint Paul. The neighborhood follows along West Seventh Street and is bound on the north by I-35E or the River Bluffs and by the Mississippi River to the South. It formed in the late 1830s from discharged soldiers and other pioneers building houses along the Mississippi River. Later, a boat dock south of Fort Snelling known as the Upper Landing became an important landing spot for dropping off settlers and supplies. The neighborhood grew as waves of settlers and immigrant came to the area to farm or work for local industrial sites. A sizable amount of industry is located between the Mississippi River and south of West Seventh Street. Workers built their houses close to local industry and different ethnic enclaves developed with the different waves of immigrants. City of Saint Paul is home to United Hospital, Children's Hospital, Regions Hospital, HealthEast, and others.

  • This apartment was beautiful, spacious, and super comfortable. We were delighted to find the kitchen stocked with coffee and tea, and Dominic even left us a bunch of bananas which we happily snacked on for breakfast. Beds were comfortable and well-appointed. The living room couch area was great (all the furniture was really cute), and we watched Netflix on the Roku TV during an in night. Location was highly convenient to St. Paul and Minneapolis is a short 20 min drive. Overall, highly recommend this place! Would stay again.

  • It's good and affordable. There's easy access to 35E and close to the airport. The apartment itself has very comfortable beds. It is right on a busy road so you will have some noise but it's not overwhelming. Dominic was very helpful and prompt with any issues, like with the air conditioning.

Clean one bedroom apartment right in heart of downtown Saint Paul, 3 miles from the Xcel Energy Center and blocks away from the green line.
The apartment is in the historic Lowry building in downtown St. Paul. The building is old, and the signs of aging do show, but the apartment is clean and spacious. What makes it special is where you're at. You could take a walk everyday and find new architecture or something you haven't tried.

  • Peter is a thoughtful host with a very tidy apartment and bonuses like a keurig and suggestions where to dine or shop. It's centrally located with a cool bar across the street and a really great independent bookstore around the corner.

    Annie and Nancy2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is a good size, very clean, and very well situated in the heart of town, extremely close to popular restaurants and coffee shops. I walked everywhere without any trouble. Peter was also very flexible and accommodating of my check in and check out needs. He made the whole process extremely easy and stress free which was invaluable to me while I juggled the busy schedule of being a bridesmaid!

    Allie2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay when you're in downtown St. Paul. I had a conference at the RiverCentre and Peter's spot was close by and also near restaurants, grocery, other amenities. Place was clean and Peter was super easy to communicate with!

    Alfa2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is a great host. He was waiting for me upon my arrival and gave me the keys. Everything was smooth throughout my stay, so I did not need to contact him until check-out time. The space was OK, but I've had better AirBnB experiences in the past. It is not the host's fault. It is an apartment in a really old building, and the signs of aging do show, especially in the bathroom. That didn't bother me, but it might be an issue for other guests. In all cases, the experience was definitely a good value for money. The next time I'm in town, if I'm on a budget I would stay in the same place again. Otherwise, I would look for a newer house or an apartment in a newer building.

    Wissam2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Peters place for a week to attend a funeral. It was a very clean place, set very close to a lot of things to do. Peter was such a kind and understanding host. We messed up a few things while in a hurry to check out. He was totally understanding and I couldn't be more thankful. I would recommend staying at his place to anyone.

    Nicholas2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much. This apartment has all the standard features, and a very comfortable bed. Great location, within walking distance of all the main attractions, and easy-enough parking. Peter was very prompt with commutation and made check-in and check-out a breeze! Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to crash while in St. Paul.

    Anna2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was accurately described. Host met me at the front of the building with the keys despite repeated changes of arrival time on my part (train delay issues). Apartment was an older building but all facilities worked, no complaints.

    Neil2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Peter was a great host. He accommodated our check-in time needs - we were going to a wedding and needed to check in beforehand to change. The apartment was spotless, and all of our basic needs were taken care of - clean linens, toiletries, coffee, etc. The decor is minimal and simple, and that made it quite peaceful. The bed is comfortable. It is surprisingly very quiet even though the apartment is right downtown. It was very close to some really nice restaurants. We went out for fancy cocktails after the wedding, and we were able to just walk home. Peter left detailed instructions about parking, which was very helpful.

  • This was such a special visit for my family and I....We slept in the master suite, which used to be my grandparents bedroom. I have such awesome memories as a kid sleeping over there and wanted to do it again! Scott has done such a wonderful job restoring this old home. It Would make my grandpa proud.

    Melinda2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We so very much enjoyed our stay at the Dearing Mansion. The rooms are meticulously restored, every nook offers a beauty to behold. It is like staying in a treasured piece of art, that is comfortable, homey and welcoming. The parlors offered cozy spaces to read or converse. The kitchen offered beautiful sunlight in the morning for drinking coffee. The view of St. Paul from the patio was stunning. And the sauna was a bonus treat! Scott's work is apparent throughout and it was a gift to stay in his home!

    Tania2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We just had a second stay at Scott's Dearing Mansion this week. This time we stayed in the Master Suite which was more expensive but we had a special guest with us who needed the extra bed that was in the suite's adjoining room. A former foreign exchange student from Sweden who lived with us for a year about 15 years ago was attending a conference in California and used a 24 hour stopover to visit with us. We arranged the room with Scott and had a wonderful reunion with our Swedish friend. He loved the mansion and all the decor. Scott was most accommodating and he joined in some of our lengthy talks. The entire house is wonderful. Scott gave us a grand tour of his elegant mansion. Breakfast is self serve but Scott's pantry and fridge were both well stocked with plenty to eat. My wife again enjoyed playing the piano. The bathroom in the master suite was terrific and complete with a warm floor, a double shower, and plenty of towels. It was our second stay at the mansion and I can predict that we will be staying again when we are in the Twin Cities for a visit. This is one terrific house and you can enjoy just wandering through the building. While walking through the mansion I noticed things I had missed the first time. Thanks Scott!

  • Awesome host, home and stay! I will be back again and again- thank you!

    Bob2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and charming house! We had the master suite, which was very clean and had a private bathroom. The shower is amazing! There were other guests staying at the same time we were, but you couldn't hear a sound. Coffee and breakfast were available in the kitchen and there is a lovely deck to enjoy your morning coffee on. Easy to get to from the airport. Nice, quiet neighborhood and ample parking.

    Meaghen2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space!! If you are looking for a great place to relax this is a great location to stay. I wish we could have spent more time here, would have loved more time to play the amazing grand piano or even use the sauna in he basement. Scott was very nice and respectful.

    Luke2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Scott's place was amazing. The original woodwork, stained glass and original fireplaces were unbelievable. What a wonderful experience! Scott was great. We would definitely stay again given the opportunity.

Beautiful 1904 Queen Anne home on the Mississippi, close to downtown St Paul. Walking distance to Harriet Island. Short Uber ride to Excel Energy Center and Union Depot/ Amtrak Station. We are on the bluff of the Mississippi River overlooking the city of St. Paul. Walking distance is about 30 minutes (there are hills) to restaurants otherwise a short ride by car or uber. Holly and I live here with our son Ben, two dogs and three cats.
Private bedroom with hallway to private bathroom. Shared use of kitchen limited to toaster, microwave and refridgerator. View of the city. Charming home.
West side is the best side. It is a very quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood.
  • Place was stunning, neighborhood was great, Sara and her partner were very welcoming, Very close to my conference hotel, HIGHLY recommend for the space and the people.

    David2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great first Airbnb experience staying with Sara and Holly! Beautiful home, cozy room, very clean and well-kept. We were in town for a wedding, so we didn't spend much time at Sara's place but it was a fantastic place to crash after the reception. It's in a nice neighborhood and is just a short walk or Uber away from downtown St. Paul or just a short train ride away from Minneapolis. Would definitely stay here again! Their cat, Steaks, is extremely friendly and made our stay even better!

    Alex2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! Sara and Holly were gracious hosts. Their place was perfectly located for my purposes, within walking distance of downtown St. Paul and near the Mississippi River and good restaurants. I would be happy to stay there again when I'm in St. Paul.

    Eddee2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying with Sara and Holly for two nights. They were extremely friendly and Sara was always available through text (if she wasn't at home) when we had a question. Their house is as described, and in fact, the description does not do it justice. They live in a gorgeous neighborhood and their house was tastefully decorated, clean, and felt very much like a home. Their two cats, Steaks and Zoe, are very friendly. Steaks is relaxed and enjoys quiet cuddles, while Zoe is a bit more active and enjoys playing. They will happily join you in your room if you let them and were definitely one of the highlights of our stay there. We would definitely stay with Sara and Holly again if we are ever in Minneapolis and we would have happily stayed there longer if they were not already booked.

    Kay2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood, close to downtown!

    Emily2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sara's lovely home in St. Paul! She was great about communicating and was very welcoming, even though we got in a little later than expected. Sara was concerned about making sure the pets didn't bother us, but we like animals, so we left the door cracked open at night and were visited by some very friendly cats. If you don't like animals so much, it's easy to shut them out and they won't bother you. Sara was well-prepared for guests and had a nice little sheet with pertinent information about the place. Everything was clean, and the neighborhood seemed nice and safe - I wish we had more time to walk around! Would stay again!

    Sarah2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay was only over for one nite. Quiet place slept great the cats kept us company all night and they were great company!

    Noah2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location could not have been better and the neighborhood is stunning. If you get a chance and the weather cooperates, take a walk and enjoy the unique homes and plantlife surrounding them. There is great food within walking distance and downtown St. Paul is just a hop over the river with tons of other options. We recommend Capital View Cafe within walking distance. This was like a home away from home. It was welcoming and cozy with the basic amenities provided and even a little extra attention to detail. The cats and dogs are very friendly and will treat you as a part of the family, including their desire to sleep with you at night, even if you just met. There is a private bathroom and access to the kitchen, though we were always too full from all the surrounding food options. We would gladly stay here again!

One bedroom/ 1 shower house with kitchen, Apple TV, internet, completely filed with vintage mid century furnishings and decor. We own the house next door as well, so we are always around. Bed fits 2, there's a couch to accommodate another. We require guests to have 3, 5 star reviews from other hosts before requesting to book. A government ID is required before requesting to book. Please do not put in a reservation or inquiry if you cannot meet these requirements.
Our space is the perfect for those that appreciate timeless antiques and vintage decor. An eclectic variety of furnishings, without compromising a cozy, comfortable stay. It's definitely not perfect, by any means, but it is our home. It was built in 1879 and refinished.
Please, absolutely NO SMOKING. Our place is definitely not perfect, but it is our home. There's access to the bus line that goes straight to the mall of America and the airport. We are also down the street from the xcel energy center for concerts or conventions. Around the corner from some pretty amazing restaurants including Chinese, Thai, pizza and American bars. You will see a lot of people walking around as it is so close to so many things and it's in a small pocket of Saint Paul. Some nights get crazy when there are events going on at the bars close to home. Please note that it is a very old house with a lot of old decor. We try to keep it as clean as possible, but it is definitely not perfect. We hope you take this into consideration when booking. ;)

  • Christina was great! She communicated throughout the stay and made sure me and my pup were comfortable. It was a great neighborhood to stay with my dog as it was very walkable and pet friendly. Several great options for food were within a short walk including two bakeries, a great Italian place and several pubs.

    Grace2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Christina was awesome and very accommodating. The house was perfectly clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was close to downtown st paul and quiet. I would definitely do it again.

  • Christina's home is amazing. Everything was in order and clean when we arrived. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the people are friendly. She is great about giving you privacy as well. Thank you for the hospitality!

    Mohamed2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Christina was a wonderful host! Very easy to communicate with and very kind. Locations was great for what we needed. The house was not what I expected. With having so many 5 star reviews I expected more. 5 stars to me means perfection and this place is in need of some updates. It has a lot of potential but needs some TLC in my opinion.

    Tanya2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Christina and Nick's place. The house was very clean and they gave us our privacy. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us to stay and to have a back yard to let him roam off leash. Hospitality included complimentary coffee, toiletries, wifi, DTV, Apple TV, extra linens and even a rawhide bone for our dog. The house is decorated eclectically with interestingly curated items. We would definitely like to stay here again during our next visit to St. Paul.

    Aimee2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little house in a great upcoming neighborhood in St.Paul! Christina was very helpful in accommodating our early arrival, and made it easy to communicate. If you love quirky spots - the decor alone is worth a visit! Very comfortable and affordable.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Eddie's flat, after a family wedding in St Paul. It's the entire ground floor of a beautiful old frame house in an excellent location. Restaurants, bars and coffee shops are all within walking distance. The furnishings and colours are sensitively done, and the kitchen well equipped. They even had a selection of bottled water and local beer waiting in the fridge! I was especially touched when Rebecca gave me a lift to another location in St Paul after my ride didn't arrive. We highly recommend them, and hope to stay here again.

    Nancy2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie met me at the apartment in person and went over the house and information about the neighborhood. He was very polite and emphasized to contact him if I needed anything. The apartment is nicely remodeled and decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is fantastic with many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. I would definitely stay at Eddie's apartment again.

  • The house is a charming home in a beautiful neighborhood of St. Paul, full of classic buildings. Restaurants and coffee places are right around the corner, and the place is near downtown St. Paul and major highways. The place was comfortable, clean and very spacious. I was in town for a three day business trip, and I would stay there again.

  • Had an amazing stay at Eddie's home apartment. It is situated in a great area of town full of Victorian homes and within walking distance (a block) from some of the best restaurants in St. Paul. Eddie was very responsive to all questions before and during my stay and had an array of amenities waiting for my arrival. Highly recommended, would stay again!

    Sam2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great unit in beautiful historic area. Eddie was great and responsive to our needs.

    David2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Eddies Place could not have been in a better location. There was a small market around the corner and a great neighborhood coffee house. Fabulous restaurants within 2 blocks. Parking was great, however dark at night. Apartment is on 1st floor, so as a woman traveling alone I was a little nervous at first, but the security latches on the windows seemed adequate. I would definitely stay again while in St Paul.

This is a newly renovated, small 1 br apt in the heart of downtown St. Paul. Across the street from city hall, you can't get more central than this.
The apartment is a newly remodeled, cozy one bedroom unit on the 9th floor of the former Lowry Hotel. A small, modern kitchen area with stainless steel appliances opens up into a living room with a flat screen TV (with no cable, but a Roku with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus, WatchESPN, Spotify and more!). The bedroom has a luxurious queen size four poster bed. The dresser will be left empty for you. The bathroom features a stand-up shower (no tub, sorry!) with a nice big shower head.
Downtown St. Paul is beautiful! You'll find yourself surrounded by lovely parks, a nice selection of restaurants, bars, theaters and concert venues, galleries and museums. The Mississippi River is steps away.
  • Donovan's a great and communicative host. The place is cozy, nicely appointed, very tidy, and in a wonderful location. Dunn Brother's coffee is less than a block away and the location provides walkable and easy light rail to all the Twin Cities has to offer - which is quite a lot!

  • My biggest expectation for an Airbnb is that is is clean. This place was super clean and tidy. This was my third Airbnb in the twin cities and this was by far the cleanest. It was also very neat and well decorated. They guys were so nice and very accommodating as well. I travel to the twin cities 2-3 times a year to visit family and this Airbnb is my top pick to stay at again. Far superior compare to the others I stayed it!

  • This house is absolutely beautiful! My family and I stayed there for my wedding weekend and it was perfect. It's just a few minutes from downtown St. Paul and close to some great restaurants. Sheila and Huy were easy to communicate with and made the process very easy! I would definitely recommend this house and the hosts!

    Blisse2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were hosting family from out of town who were staying for our wedding. Sheila and Huy provided us with everything we needed even before we arrived. We really appreciated getting all the necessary info to access the mansion early so that those who arrived earlier were able to check in as soon as they arrived. Sheila and Huy were quick to respond when a few in our party needed to extend their stay an extra night. Even though we didn't notice, they informed about potential missing kitchen towels along with offering us some. The mansion was a great place to get ready for our wedding and our photographers loved taking photos there. There was plenty of space for private time (loved all of the private bathrooms!) and for everyone to come together in the common areas. The mansion would be a great space for a family reunion - we may come back!

    Lisa & Michael2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Huy and Sheila were very thoughtful in the lead up to our trip and in the well-appointed space. The location is convenient to much of the Twin Cities by car, the view is quite impressive, and parking is never a problem. Thank you both.

    Hang2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, large 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with wonderful views of downtown St. Paul. Tons of character! Very close to downtown, with great eating options and plenty to do! Highly recommended!

    Nicole2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood and location near river, bike paths, tour boat dock, downtown St. Paul. Great beds. The house was clean. Nice to have private bathrooms for each room. Each room has lockable door with shared space for making and eating meals. Not ideal for larger group gathering because common space and seating are more suitable for small groups (4-6) although the house sleeps 8-12. Huy and Sheila were very responsive to questions and concerns. We had a problem with the front door lock when we arrived and they fixed it immediately and got us in within a few minutes. Guests have third floor (living room with great views) and second floor with four nice bedrooms/baths; modest full kitchen, smallish eating area and living room. Access is via the curving staircase; not appropriate for people with mobility challenges.

The neighborhood is richly diverse with very friendly families, and the house is located only minutes from downtown St Paul, Grand Avenue shopping, Macalester/William Mitchell/Hamline College and Universities, St Joseph's/United/Regions Hospitals, and I94 and 35E—you'll appreciate the super-short commutes. Within walking distance you'll find coffee houses, as well a numerous eating establishments.
  • The house was great: clean, spacious, and full of surprises. We were welcomed personally and the hosts were available as needed. We had a fun photo shoot! The neighborhood was pretty and quiet. We hope to stay again in the future.

  • This house was perfect for our trip. Completely updated with all types of great artwork throughout the house. We were able to use the grill and patio to entertain our adult children and had plenty of space for everyone. The location is also great, close to St. Paul and the wonderful restaurants and shopping on Grand Ave. We also were able to walk around Harriett Island, Raspberry Island and enjoy the paths along the Mississippi River. We will stay here again on future visits.

  • We found a beautiful house, very clean, even better than the photos. The house is very comfortable, we'l furnished. Shelly and Eileen are perfect hosts, careful of their guests and very kind. I'm so happy to meet them and I think we have new friends ! Shelly, Eileen, La Bouchée, thank you so much for this beautiful experience with you. We'll miss you and we left with a sad heart yesterday. We're waiting for you in Lyon !!! Julie & Ed

  • Great location to parks and all that is downtown St. Paul. Very quiet neighborhood. House was immaculate. Thanks for being a great host.

  • We loved the house! It was charming and immaculate. Shelly responded right away if we needed anything, and is right across the street, but was not at all intrusive. The furnace did die twice, but she came right over both times to work on it. We also got a free photo session! Would definitely stay here again.

  • Shelly was really proactive about our arrival. She sent an amusing and informative PDF document all about the house. We called shortly after arriving and she came right over to answer our questions. (My husband and I stayed at the house, together with his sister and her husband.) The house is beautiful and really, really clean. Both Shelly and Eileen are accomplished artisans, and spending time in their home was inspiring. The beds were really comfortable! I walked to the grocery store our first morning (about 1/2 hour walk) and got to see and enjoy the neighborhood. It is easy to get from the house to the bridge across the Mississippi to downtown or Summit Hill, where we had a wedding to attend. We really made use of the screened front porch. We sat out there both morning and evening and enjoyed catching up with each other. My only regret was not having the time to cross the street and visit Shelly's metalworking and woodworking shops, or take her up on her offer of a free professional photo shoot. A great visit!

  • Shelly is a great host. She gave us a quick tour of the house when we arrived and answered a few question we had about the area and town. We only had a single day off and unfortunately missed our opportunity for a photo shoot, but we did manage to make it to the Science Museum - with Shelly supplying us with free tickets! - and to the ice hockey in St Paul. The house is wonderful. The rooms are all nicely decorated with some bespoke furniture. Beds were comfy. Kitchen well stocked. Our favourite inclusion in the house though were definitely the musical instruments. We were on a work trip and there seems to be nothing better than getting home and making some noise on the congas, slit drum or strumming away on the guitar, and of course its a great way to signal to the house in the morning that "I'm up... why isn't everyone else?" We had a great stay, its just a shame we didn't have more time to relax and enjoy the city and sites around the place.
