Places to stay in West Looe

Places to stay in West Looe
Willow cottage is a newly renovated beautiful fisherman’s cottage, it is situated in a quiet street in the heart of the picturesque fishing town of Looe yet only 2 minutes walk to the beach, harbour and town centre with many cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants. Access to the cottage is on the level so suitable for all. Dogs are welcome to stay but we would ask you to respect this old lady of a cottage, Unfortunately there is no parking with the cottage A beautiful seaside town for all to enjoy
Willow cottage is a lovely old cottage to stay, all we ask is that you treat it as kindly as you would your own home. Willow cottage does not have parking, the harbour car park is situated 4 to 5 minutes walk (3 to 4 100 meters) from the cottage, this car park is generally used for short stay parking as it can work out quite expensive. The Millpool car park and Pearns boatyard car park are situated over the bridge in West Looe and take 5 to 10 minutes to walk to ,these are generally used as longer stay car parks as they are cheaper. Would also add that the cottage is more suited for 2 adults and 2 children rather then 4 adults as it is a small cottage.
Willow cottage is at the heart of everything in the town, just 2 minutes walk to the seafront, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, yet it is in a secluded quiet area.
  • A totally good experience on all aspects of the cottage, and hosting. Would totally recommend this beautiful fishermans cottage, in the thick of everythingneeded for your stay in looe

  • Jayne is a wonderful host, friendly, kind and welcoming. We had a superb stay at Avalon with the most beautiful view one could hope for. Truly magical and peaceful spot. Comfortable bed, clean and tidy surroundings. Cosy and unique layout with good kitchen essentials. We hope to return in the future and make the most of the views again!

    Robina2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jayne was a brilliantly friendly and helpful hostess. She met us on arrival and gave us pointers as to where the best places to visit were. The property itself was spotless. The interior was clean and contemporary. The amenities were exactly what was needed. And the sea views from both the living area, and in particular the bedroom, were stunning. All in all our experience at the Avalon was first class and as well as recommending highly, would definitely visit again.

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fab time at Jayne’s place. It’s a cosy yet trendy apartment perfect for two people. The views are amazing. The walk from the town only takes around 10-15 mins just far enough to feel away from the centre but easy to reach.

    Maureen2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views!

  • The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival. Well designed to fit in everything needed and very clean, fresh and cosy. Lovely view from main bedroom window across to the Quay. The street is very quiet and rises steeply beyond the cottage. A few steps away is a local store selling everything from papers to warmed pasties. Towards the quay is the Jolly Roger pub, again friendly and serves good meals and then a small Spar, so well served. Bit of a walk to reserved parking space but more local parking can be paid for. Visited on my own with elderly dog and felt very much at home. Hope to return again.

    Gill2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cozy cottage, warm, quiet, sparkling clean with lovely furniture and decor, great location also, everything we needed for our short break/escape was there. The parking permit was much appreciated.

    Caroline2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a great central location and has everything you could ever need while on holiday.

    Zoe2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was just right, nicely set out and very warm. There was everything there we needed to cook a couple of meals. A lovely bottle of sparkling wine on arrival was a lovely surprise. Also dog bowls In the pantry if you needed them. The cottage is in an excellent location just around the corner from the quay, with a little Spar and a deli a minute’s walk away. Lots of info about local places to visit and eat. Sky TV was great! Check in/out very simple with lockbox. Yvonne even emailed me to say there was no rush to check out as next people weren’t due that day! Just wish we could have stayed longer, she definitely seems to have thought of everything! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you !

    Lisa2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at the cottage on a cold and damp November afternoon, and were so pleased to find the heating had been left on for us, and a welcome bottle of wine on the table. The cottage was spotlessly clean from top to bottom. Sky TV, and a strong WiFi connection, were an added bonus. All in all very cozy and welcoming place to spend time in Looe. There are two small convenience stores, and a warm and friendly pub all within a two minute walk from the cottage. So pleased we decided to stay in Yvonne's cottage, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

    Rodney2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Well located, Beautifully decorated, super clean, cosy cottage. We were there in November and it was always a pleasure to come back to. Great heating system too.

    Paola2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a cute cottage for a break this place is perfect! The cottage is super cute! Perfect for families, couples or friends! Yvonne was so very kind and we had a lovely stay! Perfect location and the cottage is beautiful and cosy, even though it was frosty outside!

    Alice2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne’s cottage was in such a handy location. We could walk to everything, yet we were in the quieter part of town. Having the deli just down the road was very handy. The cottage was warm, tidy and beautifully appointed. We also really appreciated having a car parking space.

  • The apartment is located in a spectacular location with unrivalled views of Looe. The hosts made us feel incredibly welcome, and the apartment was immaculate. We will most definitely be booking again!

  • A truly 5 star experience! A breathtaking view of Looe from an exceptional apartment. Would love to stay again.

  • We had a lovely stay. The accommodation is BEAUTIFUL!! Spotlessly clean with lovely welcoming touches. The views are fantastic.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful space to relax. Captain’s Retreat has good energy and is really well thought out. All the little things that make a stay that bit more special were taken into account. The views are spectacular and are ever changing. The location is perfect for those who want to be close to town but not in the centre of it all. There is such peace and calm. It feels like a real break. Martin and Jay could not have been more friendly, approachable and kind. They made check-in easy and were happy to be asked for recommendations etc. We have such love for Looe and have stayed many times before but this was definitely our favourite space to date. If you like cosy, chic, inviting spaces then you can’t go wrong here. Add to that the INCREDIBLE views and you won’t want to leave.

    Simon2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful apartment and town - thank you very much Jay & Martin!

    David2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice apartment with lovely views of Looe and the estuary. Spacious bedroom and bathroom and bang up to date . Very comfortable living/ kitchen area . Option of nextflix as well. Allocated parking . Short walk to looe but I used my car !

    Anthony2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Have absolutely nothing but good things to say about our stay at the Captains Retreat. We were late arriving which seemed to be not a problem whatsoever for Martin who met us at the door to show us in. He showed us around and explained how to work everything which was really handy. The space itself was spotless and beautifully decorated, with everything we needed for a winter weekend getaway by the sea - including a gorgeous cream tea ready and waiting for us on arrival. I managed to set off the fire alarm cooking breakfast on our first morning, but Jay was there in an instant to save our bacon (literally). The footpath from Looe up to the apartment is on quite a steep hill, but the taxi rank is at the bottom of the hill making it easy to hop in and catch a ride up. We had dinner at the Sardine Factory which was absolutely beautiful (highly recommended), then pub crawled our way through town before heading back to the apartment. All in all it was a fantastic weekend. Thanks again Martin and Jay, you guys are great x

  • Just came back from a 2 night stay at the Upper Deck @Captains Retreat, and I cannot express how impressed we were with the hosts, the accommodation and the location. Upon arrival Martin met us to show us around the accommodation and to show us how everything worked, he was very thorough and very helpful. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and very up to date, there was everything we would need for our 2 day stay including a lovely cream tea which we thoroughly enjoyed. The views from the accommodation was the main reason for the booking and i can say they did not disappoint, we enjoyed watching the world go by from the balconies in the day and evening. I cannot recommend this place enough, Martin was a lovely host and Looe was a lovely place to spend a few days in late Autumn. We would love to come back in hotter time’s and make the most of the accommodation and location. Thank you for having us.

Bayview House is elevated above the beach & is situated up the hill on a no through road, so is very peaceful, we have lovely neighbours of which we have known for many years. The area is safe & quiet.
  • This property was absolutely stunning with a beautiful seaview of Looe. The location was very close to town, as long as you can walk up and down the steep roads, it's a really ideal location for the shop, beach and harbour. Although the house is a steep (but short) walk up the hill, the view is totally worth it! It's also much easier to access the property in a smaller vehicle as the roads become quite small (as expected for its location). Maxine (our host) was also really helpful at pointing out additional parking for a secondary car. Inside the house, it's clear that the host has really thought of everything to make it a home from home. The kitchen equipment was great, the house was cosy with lovely decor and there was also lots of board games, a Wii console and Netflix access for those who want to stay indoors! There were two double rooms with an ensuite and one with a shower room. Both had really lovely views and were very comfortable. Two further bedrooms with bunk beds which were comfortable and tidy. There was also an additional toilet and main bathroom- great to avoid toilet queues in the morning when travelling with a family! As for the downstairs, great open-plan living space, a dinner area and again, more spectacular views! My family and I will certainly be back to visit this lovely home again!

  • Beautiful house in a stunning location with thoughtful touches from the host. Exceptionally clean with everything needed for a perfect break and views to take your breath away. Waking up to watch surfers from your bedroom is amazing. We had a wonderful Christmas at Bayview and wouldn’t hesitate in booking again. Thanks for everything, Maxine.

  • Just what you need, want and more. Great house, beautiful views, lovely landlady, lots of super helpful info. Rain or shine, it's great. Perhaps I shouldn't be telling you all this though, as then it'll be full and I won't be able to go back! It is great though. Thankyou again.

    Kat2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic communication from Maxine from start to finish with tips on places to eat and see during our stay. The accommodation was stunning with quality finishes, along with fantastic panoramic views of the bay from every room. We enjoyed every second and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

  • Beautiful home, which felt very homely and inviting. Perfect for a summers day, and even a dull rainy days with the beautiful views and surroundings

    Charlotte2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, this place is amazing, best place we have ever stayed over the years. Every amenity you could wish for from dishwasher to tv/dvd in every bedroom. Spotless throughout. So spacious & an outside decking area with table & chairs, sun loungers & bbq. The view is out of this world overlooking the sea & the town of Looe. We just sat for hours admiring the view. The beach is just a short walk away as is the town. Maxine is a superb host, with tips on what to do & where to eat. Always available if needed. Highly recommend you stay here 5* property & view

    Alison2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beyond all expectations. Spotless, everything thought of. Views were out of this world. Balcony furniture accommodated all of family and was a great place to eat whatever time of the day. We solute Maxine for all that she done to make our holiday so enjoyable.

    Vida2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Arguably the best location in Looe - premiere views over the beach and town and twenty paces to a footpath that takes you directly to the beach. Prepare for steep roads and a warm welcome ❤️ great if you want to go out and eat in town every night, equally brilliant if you want to stay in and cook every night too. We enjoyed very many BBQs on the gorgeous terrace and didn’t want to leave!

  • Angela's place was very nice, it had everything we needed for our short break. It's a great spot to get away from everything in the peace and quiet above the valley with views of the river and fields. But only minutes away from Looe. Angie was very helpfull & feeding the sheep and holding a lamb was the highlight of the holiday. We'll definitely stay here again.

  • Very clean and comfortable accommodation, only a couple of miles from Looe.

    John2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a return visit to Angela's place - she accommodated us at very short notice - her flexibility and willingness to do this was much appreciated AND says all you need to know about the hospitality and quality you will find at Angela's place. Thanks!

    Chris2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ange's place is excellent - very clean and in a beautiful location. It was perfect for our needs in a quiet valley.

    Chris2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location for Looe and the surrounding area. House is located right in the countryside in a dark sky area, meaning you can observe lots of stars. No road noise can be heard so if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the place. The house is on a working farm so expect some mud; wellies recommended to make the most of the river and lake walks. We were there in Autumn. On a warm summer’s day it would be even better.

    Stephanie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z

  • The house was in a great location, a few minutes drive to Looe, but felt like we was in the wild. As nature lovers it was amazing to see Birds of prey flying overhead, and a Kestrel dropping by to say hello. When the sun sets ghe skyline goes for miles with trees, and we have never seen so many stars. Angie greeted us on arrival and gave us tea/ coffee and milk. Theres Wifi and TV and everything needed for a great stay. Overall, an amazing experience

A lovely terraced cottage, suitable for three children and two adults. The cottage is in an elevated position with good harbour and sea views. The harbour, beach and shops are a few hundred yards away down some steep cornish steps. The cottage is approached via a single track lane and a foot path. There is a dedicated car space in a car park 200 yards away.
The recently refurbished cottage has two bedrooms both with sea views, one with a double bed, one with three single beds. There is a family bathroom. Downstairs the open plan kitchen/living area opens out onto a sunny decking area, which overlooks the harbour. The living room has a wood burning stove TV, DVD and wifi. To the rear of the cottage there is a utility area and WC.
Behind the cottage is a wild flower bank and single track road leading up to The Downs, West Looe. The harbour and shops are a few hundred yards down a pulse quickening flight of steps that lead from the front of the cottage into West Looe. You can walk or get the ferry across to East Looe.
  • Wonderful cottage, great views, comfy beds, lovely outside terrace, and Looe was great. A brilliant break!

  • We had a great stay at this snug and excellent located cottage with fantastic views over Like estuary. It had all the amenities needed. The walk to and from town was a tad on the steep side but soon gets you fit. Would definitely stay here again.

    Tara2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cute place to stay with wonderful views looking down onto Looe. It was very clean and the doublebed was so comfortable. It had everything we needed for a short break away. You do need to be pretty fit and mobile to walk from where you park the car to the cottage as it is a pretty steep climb backwards and forwards to the car and the same for the access down the steps into Looe, but very worth the effort. We would definitely return.

    Susan2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time away in the cottage, everything was perfect. The space is bright and roomy with everything we needed and has incredible view.

  • Wow what a fantastic find! My wife has been going to Looe since she was a little girl and she says this is by far the best place she has ever stayed. The location and view was perfect. Spotlessly clean and no expenses have been spared with regards to decor and amenities. Bed was super comfy, linens were the highest quality. Check in was made very easy with simple and clear instructions. We genuinely don’t have a bad word to say about this place and we are so pleased we found it.

Hideaway is a small, self contained apartment, in West Looe. It is away from the roads, tucked away in the greenery of the Cornish hillside. The self contained apartment is on the ground level with its own front door (full privacy), and is light, modern and ideally situated for those looking to explore the Looe area (coast, woods, estuary), and not be bothered by anyone.
The Apartment is served with a Queensize bed, with fresh bedding. A cup chair is also provided. The Apartment has its own en suite bathroom and micro kitchen with Microwave oven. Hideaway is ideally suited for singles, or couples sharing. The small apartment is also 40 or so steps to the front door, up the historic granite steps of Chapel Ground. It is not suitable for those who struggle with stairs. Trust me. If you don't mind a bit of a climb, it's lovely and quiet up here, above town, with no cars or traffic.
Looe is well served for shops, cafes and restaurants. The West Looe Spar is well stocked, with fresh pasties, pastries and pizzas. It's amazing how much you can cram into one 'old fashioned' corner shop. There is also a Londis store, otherwise known as West Looe General Stores, has an excellent meat and cheese counter, fresh dairy, fruit and veg, bread and drinks. East Looe has 2 fully stocked Co-Op stores, Quayside Fresh grocers and both sides of Looe have a wide a range of local shops, cafes, restaurants and eateries.

The Sail-Loft is situated in Looe on the coast of South Cornwall. As one of the town's premier self-catering cottages, sleeping up to six, it has a quayside location and is only minutes from the main beach. The Sail Loft dates back to the late 18th Century when it was used as a public house known as The Pier Inn. It is now a bright, relaxing holiday home in the centre of the historic fishing port of Looe and aspires to fantastic views over the busy Looe harbour and West Looe beyond.
The Sail Loft's quayside central location ensures that many of the pubs and restaurants are within easy walking distance, however, this means that if you are looking for a quiet, tranquil holiday, staying in the centre of Looe is probably not for you.
  • Excellent location, excellent host - would definitely recommend a stay here! Great for all amenities.

    Megan2019-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding property in an amazing location which is close to everything. The house is charming and was perfect for us and our two teenage kids. With working Internet we gave them the double rooms downstairs and they both loved having the space and privacy. The view is brilliant from the first floor and even better from the second which has a balcony overlooking the harbour. We spent several evenings watching the world go by on boats. Loads of places to eat and drink nearby and nowhere is more than five minutes walk away. The house was spotless and furnished to our needs. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. We’ve stayed around Looe many times in the past but never IN the heart of the town itself. Until now. We would go back to the Sail Loft in a heartbeat and will look to book again. Melissa was an amazing host. Met us on arrival and showed us around. Then left us to it. Melissa then checked midweek by text to see if we needed anything and if everything was ok. Got the feeling that if we had needed anything we only had to ask and it would have been sorted. The Sail Loft is a fantastic place to stay and we’ve had a wonderful week. Thank you, Melissa!

    Jon2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Sail Loft. Melissa really went above and beyond to ensure a seamless experience including coming to check us in at 11pm which with two young children was a God send! The Sail Loft is excellently located with stunning views and lots of thoughtful little touches such as books, dvds and colouring books and toys for kids

    Hannah2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and super apartment. Melissa provided a warm welcome and it soon felt like home. Waking up and watching fishing boats coming in and out of the harbour was just perfect. The home is warm, welcoming and lots of space.

    Suzanne2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were a family group of 5 adults & found The Sail Loft offered us space to relax, cook & eat or use the pubs, bars & restaurants literally on our doorstep. Great view of Looe Harbour & once we got into the swing of the parking restrictions & narrow country lanes, we explored the wider Cornwall area easily from Looe. A great spot & a very responsive, helpful host!

    Julie2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, spacious, well located property in the heart of the town very near to shops bars and restaurants; close to the beach and heritage coastal paths. Lovely place to stay with a cracking view from the balcony in the top room. The week we stayed before Xmas was reasonably mild for the most part but when it was cold the house was warm and cosy. We loved it and had a great week.

  • Fabulous accommodation in the heart of Looe, short stroll to the beach and surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants.

  • The most gorgeous cottage right in the centre of the town. It was lovely waking up to the birds & the fishing boats. Very clean & well equiped and excellent communication from Melissa. Our family fell in love with the village and everything Cornwall had to offer. We were lucky with the weather so we spent as much time as we could at the lovely little beach. We would all love to visit again in the future. Thanks Melissa.

Lovely one bedroom self catering holiday apartment occupying what must be the finest position in West Looe standing high on the curve of the river with outstanding views of Looe Harbour, the Banjo pier, the beach and out to sea. Having such stunning views means that you can enjoy staying in the flat at any time of the year. On & off-season Looe has plenty to offer. The flat is perfect for a couple. The flat is strictly for non smoking guests only. Sorry no pets. Do contact me with any questions
The views are what make our flat such a special place for a getaway. Straight across you will see the harbour and East Looe - to the left the whole river estuary, and to the right out to see. The flat is warm and cosy and has everything you need.
Lovely views - and there is plenty to discover in Looe and some amazing places to eat. Great for walking, kayaking, or just chilling on the beach.
  • A small but very well equipped apartment commanding spectacular views over Looe harbour. I would not hesitate in highly recommending this for your stay, why go elsewhere? We will be returning next year ourselves.

    Martin2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our favourite space in a month of travels around the UK, made all the more special by the location of this delightful apartment. Yes, you need to walk 5-10 minutes to park your car and it is a bit of a walk up the hill, but in life great things come from effort. This apartment is tasteful, comfortable and the views are second-to-none. Do yourself a favour...stay here, a few days at least, take time to chat to the friendly locals and reflect on the incredible sights you will drink in from the Juliet balcony. Can not recommend more highly.

    Diane2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The location high above town with views up the river and down towards the English Channel were spectacular. Definitely recommend staying there to family and friends. Thanks Mark , great place.

  • The apartment was perfect with everything to make staying there comfortable, easy and relaxing. Our weather was great and we could explore Looe, but if you had to stay in, you would be more than happy watching the boats coming and going. The view was incredible and always changing. We would love visit again if we get the chance. Highly recommend a visit.

    Holly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment offered a fantastic location with an outstanding view of the harbour, the estuary to the left and the sea to the right. We enjoyed watching the boats come in and out in the day as well as evening during which the harbour is lit up by beautiful fairy lights strung between lamp posts. The apartment was very well furnished, with a kitchen that had everything you would need. Bigger in person than the pictures make is look. Overall an absolutely wonderful stay. Very highly recommended!!

    Hayley2019-10-03T00:00:00Z

BRAND NEW 6 PERSON HOT TUB! This beautiful split level bungalow is superbly located just a 10 min walk from the centre of historic Looe and a number of idyllic beaches. This property benefits from outstanding views of West Looe river and its valley. These views are best enjoyed from the hot tub and west facing garden where you can soak up the warmth of the sun from late morning until it sets over the Cornish hills. If you wish to book for more than 7 nights please send a request.
    Entire property and garden.
A friendly residential area, 3 minute walk to the local shop, take aways, and a local pub serving good beer and cider. The centre of town is a short 10 minute walk away, 15 minuets on the way back up the hill, where you can reward yourself with a cup of tea or something stronger and enjoy well earned views. 3 beaches all within a 20 minute walk. If you can’t get everything you need from the well stocked farmer’s market, fish market and various convenience stores in town then the local supermarket is a mere 15 minute drive away. Plymouth is the nearest city, just a 35 minute drive through Cornish countryside.
  • As a winter break the price and amenities were fantastic. The check in was really easy and the guidance and correspondence from the hosts could not be faulted. We really liked being left to it but knowing we could get in touch if needed. The new hot tub is fantastic and the accommodation is spacious and works very well with cosy relaxing areas both inside and out. The kitchen was very versatile with a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and good cooking facilities and equipment for eating in if needed. The location is great with easy parking and very peaceful. The view is amazing especially watching the sun go down in the hot tub...the compromise is the very steep hill to and from the main part of Looe but if you’re not up for the challenge there are plenty of local taxi’s and a local bus to help with the short trip.

  • The bungalow was much more than we could’ve hoped for our winter stay. You would have a great holiday here without even leaving the house! The hot tub was our favourite part, with views overlooking the river. We made use of all the amenities during our stay which all worked well and according to given instructions. For what we paid (winter prices), we were spoiled. It’s an 11/10 from us! Self-catering: bring your oils/sauces/spices etc. from home if you’re making your own meals here as these aren’t provided. Location: if you’re planning to venture out into other parts of Cornwall, be aware that journey times will be a little extended due to navigating around the Looe and Fowey rivers/estuaries.

  • Amazing place, amazing hosts, amazing location AND WHAT A VIEW !! Spending New years eve in Looe is highly recommended for all ages. Especially fancy dress lovers. Thank you for our wonderful stay

    Sam2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • River view was such a great base for us! The overall decor was beautiful and we loved the style! The beds were so comfortable and we all slept like babies. The travel cot was also so handy and saved us packing ours. We would highly recommend the house to anyone!

    Darren2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, everything you need...lovely setting, fab views, quiet location, tastefully decorated...good communication from owners....would highly recommend....

    Alison2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, clean and spacious home. The views are fantastic and the outdoor spaces are excellent. The home has everything you might need. We were lucky with the weather, so the fans in each room were a Godsend. The place is exactly as you see in the photos, better even. There is a Spar shop about 5 minutes walk away as well as a pub and some takeaways. The views are great but as with most things in life there is a cost to pay. The walk up from the town is very steep. I am 49 and not the fittest and managed it, just! , but if you have mobility issues it is probably a car trip in. But that is Cornwall for you - lots of hilly seaside towns. But, one of the best places I have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone.

  • We had a really enjoyable stay at Tricia's-everything is as described with the added bonus of a wonderful host.

    Michael2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is a wonderful host. Loved the cats. Breakfast was amazing.

    Ibrahim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & comfortable at her house! I got a little lost at the start trying to find the place, but she was amazing & came to find me in the car to bring me to her house! I stayed here alone & it was perfect for me! & the breakfast in the morning was superb! Can not recommend her any more, & if I ever need to I will be staying here again! Totally deserves her super rating!

    Tash2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really friendly place to stay, just like being a guest of the family like airb&b used to be. Communication was good the Trish was great with helpful suggestions. The stairs are a challenge and I would suggest that less mobile guests read the description carefully. I would be happy to stay again if back in the area.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Tricia over new year! She is very welcoming and helpful. The house is very close to the centre of Looe and has lovely views. We really enjoyed our breakfast and making friends with the gorgeous cats! Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Kelly2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We only went for one night but really enjoyed it, the house has beautiful views and it good location. It's quite hilly getting to and from the house and town so you might need to be quite fit. Tricia was so lovely and made a brilliant host, and the cats were very welcoming too. Great value for money.

    Alice2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is a lovely, welcoming host & her breakfast is delicious. She gave me tips for the local area & communication before arrival was brill. The room is cosy & warm with a really comfortable bed, exactly as the photos show & like Tricia says in the listing the steps up to the room are narrow so be prepared for a climb. Perfect for a solo traveller on a one night stop over in the area. Thanks Tricia!

    Bethan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is incredibly hospitable and the house is in an excellent central location with easy access to restaurants, pubs and shops. We were able to park on the main road over night as we arrived after 6pm though be aware that Looe has hills so it is a steep walk up, though Tricia kindly offered to pick us up. The bed is very comfortable and views from the room are great as mentioned in the listing, the steps up to the room are steep.

Little Brightwater is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the harbour along the beautiful seafront. It’s a cosy, self-contained 2-storey guest suite, rather like a little cottage, attached to the side of our house. It has its own front door and sea views from the bedroom & sitting room. We are just 100 yards from the SW Coast Path (and right opposite Looe Island) in Hannafore, which is a very peaceful & sought-after area of Looe. There is ample free parking on our street close to the house.
Little Brightwater provides smart, clean, comfortable accommodation for two. The guest suite’s private entrance door opens into the sunny double bedroom. There are glimpses of the sea through the bay window (which has voile curtains for complete privacy). The well-equipped little kitchen has a sink, fridge (with ice box), kettle, toaster, microwave and a single-ring electric induction hob. The cupboards contain crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils and pans. There is enough tea, coffee and fresh milk provided to make a few cuppas. The shower/wet room is also on the ground floor, with loo & washbasin and plenty of shelf space. Upstairs is a small, sunny sitting room with two comfortable Ikea armchairs, TV, a small table & chairs, some games & local interest books, and a lovely sea view. A single airbed is available for use in the sitting room if guests prefer separate beds. Little Brightwater has gas central heating with radiators in every room.
Hannafore is a quiet area of Looe and has beaches and rockpools, tennis, bowls, pitch & putt. There are 2 (seasonal opening ) cafes and the nearby Hannafore Point Hotel has a bar, bistro, restaurant, spa, indoor pool & gym. Our area of Hannafore is very peaceful, the main sounds heard are waves and birdsong! Holiday amenities are all available within a short walk.
  • Superb host, fantastic location - takes less than 20 mins to walk to East Looe harbour. So pretty.. the upstairs sitting room is a sun trap. Enjoy :)

  • Clive is a great host. Came and introduced himself as we arrived, but left us to it for the rest of our visit. The cottage is a lovely peaceful space, with beautiful views. Would defiantly recommend.

  • Beautiful accommodation in stunning location. So relaxing and peaceful, cottage very clean and provided everything you need, host was very helpful. Will defiantly be looking to stay there again.

    Mark2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • As long as you follow Clive’s detailed instructions, you will have no problem finding the parking location and the Airbnb itself. Don’t get distracted by google maps! Once inside, you will find a delightful apartment, just the right size, with all the necessary amenities. Great shower, lots of hot water. Multiple heaters for each room. VERY well equipped kitchen. It’s quite a steep (but short) wall to the town center, so for visitors with mobility issues this might not be the best option - however, it fit our needs perfectly. We had a great trip and Clive is a very welcoming host. Thank you Clive!

    Drew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clive’s place is in a good location with great views of Looe. Easy walk to everything.

    Lisa2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clive answered every question and went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed for a great stay. His cottage was well equipped with even a good washer/dryer, which we took advantage of. Looe proved to be an ideal location from which to explore Cornwall. Weather prevented us from doing the entire coastal walk to Polperro, but even the first part as far as the first big climb was spectacular. We would return to Little Pudding Cottage without hesitation.

    Kevin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Clive’s place. Ideal for exploring looe and great views from the balcony. Highly recommended!

  • Cracking room, great view, very quiet and in a very convenient location. Sandra s communication and advice was excellent and we had a really lovely weekend, and met some great people. The fisherman's arms was such fun, loved the landlord Boycey and his dog Tyler, and the Chennai Indian was probably the best Indian I have ever eaten. Both places were recommended by sandra, and we loved them . Thanks sandra!!!! We will definitely return! Xx

  • Great location very close to town centre. I organised a self-check-in which was very convenient.

    Peter2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our plans to stay in Looe for new years eve changed at the very last minute, literally just as we were about to leave for Looe. Therefore last minute arrangements needed to be arranged, Sandra's place was the last available accommodation we could find, and after a bit of confusion through air bnb Sandra messaged us straight away and we booked with just a couple of hours to go on new years eve! We parked in millpool car park and the bnb was just a short walk from there. We were so pleased with our room, the view was lovely. Tea and coffee in the room was very much appreciated, the bed was comfy and it was nice to chill out for a bit before we headed out. We met Sandra very briefly as we were on our way out, she was lovely and in very high spirits for new year celebrations, she made us feel very welcome. We had a great night out in Looe and will be sure to book here again in the future. Thank you.

You couldn't get closer to the beach unless you sit on it. This self-catering, one bedroom holiday home in Cornwall has everything you need for a romantic holiday or short break. Take your wallet, partner and shoes if you are planning on walking further than the glorious sandy beach. You will find everything else you need for a perfect vacation in the restored Cornish fisherman's cottage. At night time you may just catch the sound of the waves breaking on the beach, but nothing else.
Sand Dune is located on the first floor of The Old Cornish Museum less than one minute from the sandy beach. The apartment has central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, comfy sofa, a bathroom with a full size bath and shower over and a comfortable bed with quality linen and towels provided. There is a set of outside granite steps to it's own front door and lobby.
Just a three minute walk from Sand Dune and you will find yourself on the South West Coast Path with miles of superb, breathtaking coastline. Whether you are looking for an afternoon stroll with spectacular views or a challenging hike, such as a 13 mile walk to beautiful Rame Head, you’ll find it all here. The South West Coast Path continues to the west from Hannafore Point in West Looe (cross the bridge, turn left and continue towards the coast), taking in more stunning beauty spots such as Talland Bay, Polperro, Lantivet Bay and Lantic Bay. Walk to the ancient fishing village of Polruan, approximately 4 hours, stop for well earned fish & chips and take the passenger ferry across the estuary to picturesque Fowey town. You can always take the bus back to Looe from Polruan Quay. There is a wealth of local attractions easily accessible from Sand Dune including: Talland Bay; the picturesque fishing port of Polperro; Woolly Monkey Sanctuary; the internationally renowned Eden Project and Tate Gallery St Ives. National Trust properties in the area include Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Mount Edgcumbe, Port Eliot and Antony House and can be easily reached from here, as well as beautifully rugged Bodmin Moor and a variety of beautiful, sandy beaches, bays and hidden coves skirting our stunning Cornish coastline. Other local attractions include sailing, fishing and diving, and spectacular coastal walks, especially that via Talland to Polperro, Lantic Bay, Lantivet Bay and Polruan. Looe is a small, very quaint and pretty, coastal town and fishing port. Several fish dealers operate from the docks of East Looe. With its fleet of small fishing boats returning their catches to port daily, Looe has a reputation for producing excellent fresh fish. The town is also a centre for shark fishing, and is the home of the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain. The town centres around a small harbour and along the steep-sided valley of the Looe Estuary which flows between East and West Looe to the sea beside a sandy beach. Off shore to the west, opposite the stonier Hannafore Beach, lies the idyllic St George's Island, otherwise known as Looe Island. Looe's main business today is tourism with a large number of pubs, restaurants, and shops. East Looe centres on its broad sandy beach with the distinctive Banjo Pier. Stretching back from here is a grid of narrow streets forming the ancient centre of the town, packed with many small shops, restaurants and pubs, and the Old Guildhall, now a museum. Along the estuary lies the quay, with several fish dealers. Towards the bridge lies the Victorian Guildhall, and just north of the bridge the railway station. This is the terminus of the Looe Valley branch line to Liskeard, a very popular and picturesque journey, itself an attraction (at Liskeard, the line connects with the main Plymouth to Penzance Great Western Main Line). West Looe spreads west from the bridge on the Polperro Road and along the waterfront south of the bridge are restaurants, pubs and pretty cottages leading towards a cluster of shops and businesses and the Church of St Nicholas. Further south along the coast road is Hannafore Point, marking the edge of Looe Harbour, with to the west the wide, stony Hannafore beach, facing across a narrow channel to Looe Island (officially called St. George's Island). Beyond lies a coastal path leading to the hamlets of Porthallow and Talland, and from there on to Polperro. On New Year's Eve, Looe has a surprisingly large celebration; it is on the list of top 10 places in the UK to celebrate the New Year. The small fishing town, usually quiet in winter, due to the largely seasonal economy, is host to an influx of visitors. People flock the streets in their hundreds, wearing fancy dress, a tradition upheld by all ages. The crowds begin the evening in the town and slowly move towards the seafront for a fireworks display, and the announcement of the New Year.
  • Just enough space for the two of us to be very comfortable on our weekend break. The flat was clean, comfortable, well supplied with kitchen equipment, and in a great location right on the quayside but tucked away in a little side street. It was off season so might have been quieter than usual but with enough night life/restaurants just on the doorstep to keep us well fed and entertained. Paul’s communications were precise, friendly and well-timed to make sure we got settled in easily.

    Jane2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little flat with Cornish touches! Slept very well! Very good for seafront!

    Duncan2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location, really couldn’t be better in terms of beach and Looe town. Had some amazing meals out - restaurants were excellent quality and value. We didn’t come across one grumpy waitress! Sand Dune comfortable and well equipped , easy check in and clean and tidy.

  • In a great location, seconds from the beach and from the town, shops and restaurants. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and had a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed for our stay. Paul was prompt and helpful in his communications and check in/out was simple. We used Looe as our base for exploring this lovely part of Cornwall (Millpool car park was a 15 minute walk through town but always had spaces even though it was busy school holiday season).

Just a three minute walk from The Museum Apartment and you will find yourself on the South West Coast Path with miles of superb, breathtaking coastline. There is a wealth of local attractions easily accessible from The Museum Apartments including: Talland Bay; the picturesque fishing port of Polperro; Woolly Monkey Sanctuary; the internationally renowned Eden Project and Tate Gallery St Ives.

The Freeview worked flawlessly with Cbeebies saving our bacon from the scourge of a grumpy 3 year old on a few occasions and all you could need to prepare a quick meal in between exploring Cornwall's delights. Thank you to Danielle for being such an active presence with support and guidance where appropriate to help us along; we really appreciate it!

A rare opportunity to stay in one of the original Victorian homes in Looe. Located in West Looe in an enviable position, you will enjoy picturesque views of the harbour, estuary and coastline. We offer a spacious double bedroom with views of the ocean. You have a private ensuite bathroom with shower and bath. In addition, there is an adjoining room where you can take your breakfast with a fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. There is ample parking !
To have the lovely views means hills !! Car access is to the house is via a narrow private steep road with a couple of tight spots between houses. Cars and small vans are no problem. Only 1 guest in 3 years decided not drive up. There is free off street parking 10 minutes walk away on the Hannafore coast road. There are also 2 separate pedestrian entrances onto a steep lane with hand rails to walk down to West Looe harbour.
Looe is a lovely traditional active fishing town with a safe beach and plenty of good restaurants and local shops to explore. There is easy access to the coastal path. Why not take the 2 1/2 hour walk to Polperro and take the bus or boat back to Looe? Fowey is a pretty town on the Fowey estuary, taking the short car ferry adds to the fun of a visit. If you fancy surfing I usually drive to Watergate bay where the surf is more reliable than the south coast. If you are a runner, one of our active guests spent the day running along the coast to Polruan and back, a tough 40km with step hills, but easier options are available !!
  • Lovely stylish and comfortable accommodation in a great location in Looe. Tony and Lorraine were great hosts and thought of everything we needed for our stay. Would thoroughly recommend.

    Heidi2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s home is beautiful. It’s situated in a great location and the views of Looe are awesome. Especially at night when it’s all lit up. The room was perfect with lovely bathroom facilities. And the little dinning area was great. Felt like it’s own self contained little flat. Very clean and cozy. Thank you we would definitely return ☺️

    Tigan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing town, a must see! And Tony's place offers the most authentic and immersive experience and location! Lots of nice, thoughtful touches, amazing views, spacious room, bathroom and kitchenette. Great location to explore Looe. Would highly recommend this place.

    Michaela2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Tony’s beautiful house. The rooms were spacious, tastefully furnished and clean. The views from the house are stunning, overlooking the harbour with a partial view overlooking the sea from the bedroom. It was a lovely bonus having breakfast items put out for you. There is a lovely garden and patio area to sit out and enjoy the views. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk to the harbour, shops, pubs, restaurants and beach. It is a few minutes walk to the bus stop which will take you to Polperro, Fowey, Penzance and many other towns at very reasonable prices. Tony and Lorraine were very welcoming and fab hosts, would highly recommend a stay with them.

    Greg2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was a fantastic, personable and delightful host. Firstly the personal touches of laying out breakfast each morning and all the lotions and potions being available (I forgot my shampoo so this was a life saver) were things I didn't expect and was grateful for as it felt like 5 star hotel service. The property itself was stunning. I didn't expect such a large property to base myself in. It was a self contained flat within the house so I had a lot of privacy and I didn't feel hemmed in like I would in a B&B/hotel. It is on the top of the hill in West Looe so it has majestic views both during the day and in the evening of the harbour and the lights in the town. I was situated right by the South West Coast so an ideal base for runners and walkers. I ran via Polperro to Polruan and back (25 miles), but if you want to make more of a day of it you can take a boat over the other side to Fowey from Polruan and carry on walking/running and take a bus back (I heard Fowey is lovely). I also went on one of the local boats and I went fishing for the first time. There are kayaks to rent and there's a local bouldering centre nearby. Obviously it is an ideal place for sea swimming and rowing (there's a local club there). I'd highly recommend Looe for an activity holiday in a idyllic location as well as staying with Tony in his beautiful house.

  • Three spacious rooms with fantastic views over the harbour, materials for DIY snack and breakfast. Steep but very quick access to bus-station, harbour and amenities.Make sure you consult about where to park.

It also has a lovely safe bathing beach with its famous Banjo Pier which is just a five minute walk from the guest house.
  • Don’t be daunted by the steps leading up to Sammy’s, it’s well worth every step. This is one of the most hospitable, clean and homely B&Bs we have ever been too. The breakfast is excellent and served with smiles and friendly chat. Our dogs were treated like special guests and were as welcomed as us. The room was immaculate, warm and homely and we had a wonderful view of Looe. We highly recommend Bridgeside B&B.

  • Great stay, a really nice clean room and bathroom. We had a problem with the lock on the door, they were super helpful and fast. Awesome full breakfast options, delightful staff, I will definitely stay here any time I'm back in Looe.

  • Good location in Looe. Very clean room, tv worked, decent shower. No parking but pay and display options nearby and some free parking if you are lucky.

  • I stayed here for a short time, but wish I booked longer. The hospitality was AMAZING ! The greeting was out of a text book. We felt so comfortable here and felt so welcome. Like home away from home. The guesthouse is in a central location, right in the middle of town with amazing views across the river. The guesthouse and our room was spotlessly clean. It has just been renovated with nice new carpet and fresh paint throughout. I am so happy with this place. A credit to its owners. I couldn't believe the value as it also included a full English breakfast, which was cooked to perfection. Thank you so much for having us and will definitely recommend it to all my family and friends. Keep up the good work
