  • Although we never met Glenys, we felt quite welcome. Our room was really nice and the bed probably the most comfortable on our journey through great Britain. The communication was very friendly, helpful and fast. We can highly recommend Glenys as host.

  • Any review of Laurel House must start with Hayley and Steve. Two lovely people rightly proud of their lovely house and who looked after me so, so well. It did really feel like being a house guest. I had their lovely little single room with a balcony, a bit chilly to try, and the oh so comfortable bed. Bathroom was immaculate with a lovely big bath which after a long journey I took full advantage of. Breakfast was lovely and when I took over the breakfast table to do some paperwork for an hour before departing Steve continuously fed me coffee. If someone wanted to learn how to be the perfect Airbnb host, staying a night at Laurel House would set them on the right path.

Very quiet room as it does not face a road but instead looks over a park with a very lovely oak tree. Westbury is a convenient location for it's transport links. You can get a direct train to London in 1hr25m, Bristol in 35 mins or Bath in about 25 mins. Westbury train station is about a 5 min drive from the property (20 min walk). The area is safe and quiet and there's an area nearby with a good pizza place, a wine bar and a Tesco Express.
This listing is for 1 room in a 3 bedroom house, however we are also renting the room adjacent to this one so, if you are travelling as a family, you can book both rooms if needed. In the park that's pictured there is a small children's play area which might be useful to know if you're travelling with little ones. There are only 2 of us living in the house. I work from home so I'm in most of the time and my wife works in Bath.
The house is in a residential area, situated right next to a quiet park. Within 6 minutes walking distance is a local shop as well as some local restaurants and a wine bar. A little further out is Aldi and then the town centre is about a 25 minute walk from the house. If you're looking for a scenic walk then it's really nice to go up to the White Horse - it's the famous horse which has been carved into the hillside at Bratton Downs. You can park at the top and walk right up to the horse. There's quite a large area you can walk around up there with great views from all sides.
  • William & Sheyde are great hosts, very good communication and very friendly. The room is ideal for a business trip, good internet and a comfy bed.

    Mark2019-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Sheyde are a relaxed and down-to-earth couple. They were very welcoming during my stay and had an air of being very used to being around new people. This meant that they were easy to approach for advice and company. Their home is exceptionally clean, warm and comfy. I can't fault any part of my stay. I would seriously recommend you consider staying with them whenever you visit Westbury.

  • Nick's place was wonderful to say the least. From his timely, upbeat responses to the location of the house itself. It's quite close to the train station too which was helpful. A Super clean, homely and still modern, beautiful place, you can tell he loves hosting people immediately. He made me feel right at home, and even drove me to the train station in the next town, when I missed my train to work! Nick is a real Superhost!

  • This is the place to stay and I stay in a lot of places

    Mark2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a very comfortable night at Meg and Andy's palce. The room is bright, big and cozy and has everything you need. For breakfast, I could chose from a variety of options and it was freshly made and delicious. The house is not ideal if you are travelling by public transport, but Meg and Andy are very friendly and might even give you a lift to the station. I can very much recommend them!

    Fabienne2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely hosts, quiet location. You will sleep soundly. Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice. The two village pubs (both good!) are more of a drive than a walk, but otherwise perfect.

    Steve2018-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Meg's place. This is not just an Air B & B but a proper B & B in the truest sense of the word! Delicious breakfast, very comfy and clean rooms, beautifully decorated bathroom, and two hosts that went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. They even drove us to the nearby festival we were attending - twice! And messaged to let us know we'd forgotten something, offering to post it. Highly, highly recommend this place. thank you again Meg.x

  • Before choosing to stay in Tracey's home, I read previous glowing reviews. I found them all to be true. Tracey's home is spotlessly clean and nice and warm, including the bedroom, (the radiator can be turned off if you prefer a cold room). Her home is well located and the area is nice and quiet, especially at night. I had a shelf in a kitchen cupboard and one in her fridge, for food, and it was easy to cook in her kitchen. There was ample parking. Tracey was very considerate regarding the shared use of the bathroom. She has a nice shower, and informed me, (without me needing to ask), that it would be fine if I wanted to have a shower both in the evening and morning. Tracey is a very special person. She made me feel like I was staying in a good friends home, and I would definitely like to return sometime in the future.

    Carol2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I have stayed at Tracey's and, once again, I found it to be a true 'home from home'. It is quite impossible to put into words what a great host Tracey is - she is accommodating, hospitable and a fantastically engaging conversationalist yet never intrusive and she is on hand to help and advise as necessary yet you never feel you are being watched or monitored. I wholeheartedly recommend this Airbnb for anyone needing to stay in this part of the country for either work or leisure.

    Si2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent person! Excellent house!

    Jose2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Tracy's place for just over a week and found it perfect for what I needed - a quiet space with ample facilities and a charming, considerate host. I have no hesitation in recommending Tracey's place to stay and for the price its a real find.

    Martin2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • A warm welcome in a nice friendly home - great value! Private parking was a big plus and Tracey was kind enough and environmentally conscious enough to let me charge my Electric Vehicle one night which extended my touring range! Lots of thoughtful touches that I hadn’t expected but was very pleased to find - like tea and sweeteners, a hairdryer in the room, lots of local information etc Above all Tracey was an interesting and welcoming Airbnb host - highly recommended!!

    Neil2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay, clean warm and accommodating, Tracy is a lovely person, so easy to get on with

    Stu2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, amazing host

    Stu2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super let. The whole house was clean, functional, quiet, well located and perfectly described in the listing. As far as Tracey is concerned, it really is impossible to understate how fantastic she is as a host - readily available (yet never intrusive); flexible; considerate and really went the extra mile to advise on travel plans, local amenities and train times. 100% recommended. Many thanks.

Welcome to our family home, set in 3 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside. We are a family of six, who keep our own sheep and pigs for meat, ducks and chickens for eggs, bees for honey and harvest our fruit and vegetables. The house is bathed in sunshine all day long, there is plenty of space to eat, sit, relax, unwind, work and play both inside and out. This is a relaxed, family home, perfect for visiting Bath, exploring villages, walking in nearby countryside or having outdoor adventures.
Orchard Barn is close to Bradford on Avon, Bath, Bristol, Salisbury, Glastonbury, Stonehenge and Oxford. Do come and cuddle or feed our lambs (April to September), feed the pigs (March to August), laugh at the antics of the ducks or collect eggs! The house is a barn conversion that is found at the end of a drive lined with chestnut trees. The house has a spacious, front graveled area where parking is easy. This front garden catches the daytime sun and is a perfect spot to have a cup of coffee and read the papers. As you enter the property, the TV Room is to your right and is a place to sit and take in the morning sun, relax on in front of the fire or, of course watch TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime are available to use). There is a large boot room for coats, hats and shoes. The kitchen is on your left and is open plan with a cosy sitting area around a woodburner fire. The dining room leads out through bifold doors onto the patio and garden. There is a generous garden area with outside seating, table tennis and trampoline; through a gate there is then the orchard with chicken house, duck pond, pigs, vegetable garden, greenhouse and then through a further gate, the paddock, where the sheep graze. You are welcome to feed the animals yourself. This is a wonderful, light and interesting house to enjoy a special birthday, a holiday or touring the beautiful villages, towns and cities nearby. Alternatively stay here as a break on your journey to or fro from a holiday destination or a well needed rest on a work trip.
Our property is situated in Southwick, a village dating back to the 1600's, situated between the picturesque village of Rode and the market town of Trowbridge.
  • Ali's home is quirky and so homely, full of interesting exhibits of amazing travels. Ali and her family offer wonderful hospitality and are such an interesting and lovely family to meet and engage with. Nothing is too much trouble and home made touches to breakfast foods at their farmhouse kitchen table are delicious and tasty. The bed is comfy and bedroom and own bathroom are super. The surrounding area is beautiful to explore. We had a super couple of days made very special by this friendly and engaging family. Thank you Ali, Trevor and children

  • A cosy room in a largely private end of the house (pretty much own use of a staircase) in a house with shared front door, kitchen and sitting room.

  • This place is SO LOVELY. My husband and I took a weekend away to see Frome and Bath and stayed here for one night and we couldn’t have found a warmer and relaxing place to lay our head for the night. The place is clean, cosy, rural and a home from home. Alison is an outstanding host, we had eggs from her chickens for breakfast and she gave us direction to a Sunday market we wouldn’t have known about otherwise in Frome where we bought some fantastic additions to our home! I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone thinking of spending a weekend away to see Bath, we couldn’t have picked a better place!

This B&B is located in a quiet, tree-lined residential street of the historic conservation area ’Newtown’ and the surrounding neighbourhood consists mainly of early- to late-Victorian houses. Its location is a short walk to / from the train station, which (as explained below) is very well connected by train services to Bath and many other interesting places. Offices and institutions within easy walking distance include: Wiltshire County Hall, Trowbridge Civic Centre, St John of Gaunt School, Wiltshire Rural Music School, St Augustine’s Catholic College, and Trowbridge Museum. Just around the corner is a neighbourhood shop / news agent and there are many opportunities for all types of shopping a bit further on in The Shires mall (10 minute walk) and lots of entertainment options (cinema, restaurants) to enjoy at St Stephens Place (15 minute walk). If you would like more information about a wide range of restaurants, inns and pubs within walking or easy driving distances, there's a list available in the room. Whether you like to relax in 16th- or 18-century inns, chain restaurants, or gastropubs, there's quite a lot to choose from.

    Chris2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Thom's place several times whilst in the area for work. It is clean, stylish and comfortable - like a boutique hotel in many ways. The bathroom is shared but to be honest it might as well be ensuite; it's right next to the room and is always super-clean.

    Chris2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very enjoyable and lovely place to stay.

    David2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Large comfy bed, easy parking and walking distance to the town and station. Great location for exploring the area. Plenty of tea, coffee and snacks. Lock on the sizeable bedroom so your belongings are secure when out and about. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend (and return if I'm back in the area!)

  • Love place and lovely host.

    Cory2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying at Thom's place. Not only was the room beautiful and comfy, Thom provided all the amenities including the hot kettle and cups, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits, a small fridge and even a robe if you needed it. It was one of the most thoughtfully furnished Airbnb rooms I've ever stayed in. Within walking distance from the train station, grocery stores and restaurants. I highly recommend it.

Period cottage in beautiful Wiltshire Village
My spare room is a a small but perfectly formed double bedroom with a double bed, linen and chest of drawers. The cottage is a period cottage built in the late 1700's and is grade 2 listed so is oozing with character which yes that means low beams, an inglenook fireplace, wooden floors. It's an old cottage in the country so with that goes a few pet spiders, the odd cobweb and a crack in the paint here and there! There is use of shared bathroom (which is downstairs), kitchen and living room. Included is towels, fresh linen, tea, coffee, WiFi. The cottage is in a simply stunning rural Wiltshire village which is very close to the canal for some superb countryside walks or cycle routes and some great village pubs that you must try. Locally there are market town of Devizes, Melksham, Chippenham. Tourist Attractions nearby: Caen Hill Lock Flight, Lacock Abbey (of Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice Fame) Avebury. Stonehenge is approximately 30 mins away by car. Further afield you can get to Bath, Glastonbury, Salisbury and Wells. There is a bus stop (49) directly outside the cottage which connects with local Towns Trowbridge and Devizes and also main transport hubs Bath & Swindon. If you are wanting to get out and explore the villages it may be more advisable to have a car. Note there is a very limited bus service on Sundays! If I am free I am more than happy to show you around the local area. I love to cook and to eat together so if I am around I will happily share a meal, if not just make full use of the kitchen yourself! I do not include breakfast as I cannot guarantee my working hours /availabilty however you are welcome to help yourself to toast or cereals or whatever I have available if I am around or use the kitchen to prepare your own.
  • Quick responses and very understanding

  • We had a short, but great stay at Jennys beautiful house! Next time we would Like to spend more time in this cosy and quirky home, with its little surprises :) we enjoyed Our stay a lot and slept very well! Jenny was very kind and helpful, and Harry the dog was so sweet! Thank you so much for breakfast and the sweet gifts! :)

    Sissi2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was fantastic, great recommendations and a very warm stay. We were very lucky as she shared some of her vegetarian chili that she had spare from feeding the homeless/less fortunate. Lovely human, thank you for a great stay.

    Ryan2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny is very generous at sharing her home. She was so helpful and she and her dog Harry made me and my dog feel very welcome. Thank you!

    Louise2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Jenny and Harry for 5 weeks for a working holiday and really felt welcomed and allowed to feel at home away from home. I especially liked: Jenny's swift and clear communication, her relaxed nature allowed me to do my own thing or hang out in the evenings without judgement, being shown around the area - Seend and Wiltshire alike with great suggestions if venturing out alone and sharing cooking occasionally (Jen is great at roast dinners!). The location was perfect as it had a beautiful view from the bedroom window, was quiet but on the main route to larger towns closeby. The only thing I found slightly bothersome was the scratching of Harry's claws on the floor as he walked past my room when I wanted a lie in (you have to be a dog person!) - other than this I really can't fault my stay - thank you Jenny and Harry!

    Millie2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • What to say? Clean, warm, excellent facilities, comfortable bed and very friendly, lovely dog. I didn't see a great deal of Jennifer due to both of us being out a lot, and didn't need much in terms of local help, but she was helpful and friendly to the extent that we did interact.

    Natasha2019-11-06T00:00:00Z

  • Pam and Michael have been the best hosts I’ve had the pleasure of staying with. They are friendly, thoughtful and kind and the house is extremely comfortable, immaculate and has lots of little extra touches that make all the difference. I’ve stayed twice with them now and both times they’ve gone the extra mile to make my stay relaxing and enjoyable. Best hosts ever.

    Franziska2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Pam is a fantastic host and a very nice person. The house is spotless clean and lovely decorated. Pam provides a great breakfast to make sure you have a good start of the day. It is a very good location with good bus connections and only about 12 minutes walk to the station. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, not just two nights.

    Bernd2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I was very well received. The owners were very careful with my wellbeing. The room is very nice to rest. And they could solve my problem to charge my phone. And gave me a charger as gift. They made a wonderful dinner when we were talking through Google translate. Excellent!

    LucasBeatriz2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot speak highly enough of my experience of staying with Pam and Mike. I was immediately made welcome and offered some tea, and I felt they would do anything to make my stay enjoyable. Later, Mike drove me to the Railway Arms. My room was quiet and comfortable, with tea/coffee and a TV, and the breakfast excellent. This is an example of just how good AirBnb can be. Thanks!

Lots of special touches in the room - fresh flowers, chocolates, cookies, flasks of fresh milk and drinking water. Penny and Jon were exceptional hosts with lots of helpful, local information. We enjoyed walked along the canal (3 minutes walk from the cottage) to get to the locks. Lots of lovely pubs and nearby villages to visit too. We could have stayed for a lot longer 😊

In a beautiful countryside location with plenty to explore outdoors if that's what you want to do. Wonderful hosts. We are very grateful for the time. We used it as a retreat space for the beginning of the new year. Thank you

  • Lovely self contain cabin, seems like a remote location with the final half mile drive to the cabin and their house but this is deceptive as it is actually very easy to reach all the main local highlights of Whiltshire by car. Deep in the countyside, lots of stars on a clear night, well away from the turmoil of a town, city life.

You will be welcomed into “The Barn” at the end of Pomeroy Lane in the beautiful village of Wingfield, just 2 miles south of the historical medieval town of Bradford On Avon. Here you are spoilt with local destinations to suit all i.e. the Roman City of Bath, Longleat house, gardens & safari park, the quirky charm of Frome and plenty of local county walks direct from the property; one being to The Poplars Public House, a good food, real ale and wine destination overlooking its own cricket pitch.
You will be in the Hepburn Room, a nod to the wonderful actress. You will be welcomed into your beautiful double room with a bottle of chilled Prosecco. You have plenty of space to relax, and a desk to sit at should you have work to do. There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space too. The room is set up as a double room but with advance notice, a single guest bed can be put up in your room too. In your room you will have a kettle and fair trade organic tea, coffee with a cafetière, fresh chilled filtered water, fresh organic semi skimmed milk and fresh apples. You have a massive luxury bathroom, which is shared, with fresh towels. Your double bed has a topper on and for cosy winter evenings an electric blanket too!
The Barn, is located in the beautiful village of Wingfield, 1 mile from Farleigh Hungerford, where there the medieval Farleigh Castle is located, and two miles from the historic town of Bradford-On-Avon, which overflows with historic interests, such as the Tithe Barn. There is a train station there where The roman city of Bath is a 16 minute train ride away. Wingfield sits in Wiltshire but is almost on the Somerset boarder, with Longleat is just 8 miles away, as is the quirky town of Frome. Plus, it’s almost that time of the year, and Glastonbury is a 40 minute drive away! The Westbury White Horse can be seen from the garden, weather permitting! The county town of Trowbridge is 2 1/2 miles away, 5 to 10 minute taxi ride, where there is the train line to either Bath, Westbury, London and Weymouth!
  • Fantastic stay, lovely space and a wonderful host! The welcome Prosecco was a great touch, easy check in, and Cressida is so friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend! ☺️

Talking about baths...the bath is really amazing and the breakfast too, prepared by Cressida her self with loads of fresh ingredients!

    Emanuele2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, very handy for us attending the VMXdN. Cressida goes above & beyond to make your stay very comfortable. Little welcoming touches are great! Will definitely be back.

  • Very good landlord,so kindly and so nice! I hope next time again here!

  • Our stay at Cressida’s place was lovely, great location and a stunning home. He bathroom was particularly outstanding with a gorgeous big bath and his and hers sinks. The bedroom was great and particularly the pillows were super - so important for a relaxing evening. Cressida was a brilliant host, very friendly and happy to help, and even surprised us with a cake with candle as it was a birthday celebration. So very thoughtful and kind, really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and special. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again if in the area.

  • We decided at the last minute to have a couple of nights away. We were so lucky The Barn was available and it was perfect in every way. Cressida was really quick in responding in the afternoon for a stay that night. A very warm welcome was In store for us and our black Labrador. The room is cosy and comfortable and everything is sparklingly clean. I could have spent hours in the bathroom, the tub was huge and so inviting! A fantastic host with a beautiful home. Thank you so much.

Oak Tree Barn was fully refurbished in 2019. It is in a beautiful small hamlet called Brokerswood, within the county of Wiltshire & on the border of Somerset. It is the perfect location to visit some of the UK’s best-loved tourist attractions, which are only a short drive away, including Bath, Stonehenge, Longleat and other local towns & villages such as Frome, Lacock & Salisbury. There is a direct train link from Westbury to London which can take just over an hour.
The converted barn is all on one level, with a large open-plan living and dining space. The furnishings are tastefully contemporary and the focal point of the living space is a stylish log burner, perfect for cosy evenings during the autumn or winter months. Both double bedrooms have super king size beds that can be adapted into twin beds should you wish, with both Bedrooms having their own en-suite bathrooms.
Oak Tree Barn is a secluded private retreat within the countryside, with beautiful walks and it is located on the edge of the national cycle route. There are many local pubs & restaurants. The historic cities of Bath and Salisbury are only a short drive away. There is a great farm shop with local fresh produce just 2 miles away which includes a gift shop and restaurant. There is also an excellent country store just over 1 mile away.
  • Oak tree barn is a fantastic place to stay, could not recommend enough. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful throughout. The welcome hamper including wine chocolate crisps and more was a lovely touch. The barn is done to an extremely high standard and we can’t wait to return!

These include not only the usual bucket list (‘Salisbury Plain’, ‘Stonehenge’, ‘Longleat’, ‘Bowood’, and the great cities, cathedrals, abbeys and theatres of Bath, Bristol and Salisbury) but less well known gems (such as the ‘Haynes Motor Museum’, ‘Boscombe Down Aviation’, the ‘American Museum’, ‘Frome Independent Market’, ‘The Newt’, Shearwater Lake and the West Kennett Longbarrow). We can also help with Golf and Swimming venues in the local area. Edington has an award-winning pub ('The Three Daggers', AA Pub of the Year, a 15 minutes’ walk), its adjacent Farm Shop, and a magnificent C14 Priory Church. The neighbouring village of Bratton has its own pub ('The Duke') and a convenience store with a post office. The village is surrounded by walks and is within easy cycling / walking distance of Salisbury Plain. Edington is known for hosting one of the oldest annual festivals of church music in the world. Since 1956, the “Edington Festival” has grown and flourished and now over 80 leading musicians gather for a week to sing the principal daily services in three choirs. Visitors come from all over the world to share this extraordinary experience (this year; 23rd – 30th August 2020). Finally, the site of Edington itself is an important landmark in European history. Had it not been for King Alfred the Great’s crucial victory here 1,141 years ago, it’s very possible that the Vikings would have quickly gone on to conquer the entire British mainland. But Alfred’s Wessex army defeated the Scandinavian forces of Chief Guthrum somewhere on the hillside just above Holly Cottage, at the crucial “Battle of Ethandun” in AD 878. The victory resulted in the “Treaty of Wedmore” (now Chippenham, 15 miles to the north of Edington) and the conversion of Guthrum to Christianity. Under the Treaty, the Vikings retreated to the eastern lands that became known as ‘Danelaw’ (literally, under Danish Law, nowadays East Anglia, Essex and East Midlands). Guthrum was baptised with the Christian name Aethelstan and Alfred became his godfather. Eventually Wessex, under Alfred’s successors, reconquered Danelaw and united most of England. Novels such as Edward Rutherford’s “Sarum” and Bernard Cornwell’s “The Last Kingdom” cover these events, as does Michael Hurst’s series “Vikings” for the History Channel. Books and DVD Box Sets are available for guests to enjoy and learn from during longer stays.

  • The place was a lot better than what we had expected. Pam and Michael are amazing hosts and did everything to make us feel as welcome as possible.

  • Pam is a fantastic host. The rooms are very, very clean with lots of nice touches. This was my second stay at Pam's place and I can only recommend it. This time I came with a friend and he was very impressed and wants to come back again. I almost forgot, Pam offers a fantastic breakfast to get you started for the day. The place is about 10 minutes walk from the station and about ten minutes walk to the town centre.

    Bernd2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Pam has a lovely room on offer, within walking distance of the whole of Westbury. She was very welcoming as a host and made me feel like I was in a second home! The place was extremely clean and well looked after, I would recommend staying here for anybody needing to stay around this area, as it was great value for money.

    Ben2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Clean, quiet and kind hosts. Breakfast was great too!

    Daphne2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Having viewed the photos, Pam & Micheals’ lovely home lived up to expectations. It is the first time we’ve done AirBnB and stayed with the family too - Pam & Micheal were so warm & welcoming. Everything was explained and then we were given our own space & privacy. Pam has a real eye for detail, lots of extra thoughtful touches, great design and immaculately presented. I would definitely recommend this AirBnB for anyone staying in this area. What was extra special was the feeling of a family home that had obviously seen a lot of love in its time, and is now shared with privileged guests. 😊

    Janet2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed with Pam and her husband Michael for Easter weekend whilst visiting our daughter. My husband and children stayed with our daughter in Westbury at their house but as my elderly mother was coming with us there was not room for all of us to stay in our daughter's house. My mother and I stayed with Pam and I could not be more grateful for their kindness and thoughtfulness towards us... my mum has dementia and Pam was so understanding and caring. Our room was spotlessly clean with little touches such as the 'sleep spray' and bottled water. My mother loved the chocolate hot cross buns for breakfast on Bank Holiday Monday and the warm croissants on Easter Day. It was a 'tricky' weekend for us all to manage and Pam and Michael really helped to make the weekend much more manageable for us - thank you so so much for your hospitality. I would totally recommend staying here! Genuinely lovely people who care about others.

  • A beautiful house in a great location, close to Frome and Bath as well as lots of lovely villages. The house itself was perfect for our party a mixture of young and old, it was beautifully presented and very clean, with an amazing outdoor space and the communication with the house keeper was very quick and she was very helpful. We would love to return to the house and would recommend it to others.

  • This is truly a divine slice of authentic country England. Very easy to get to and to locate. Loads of country lanes to walk or bike and also the rural public paths in the area are plentiful for people who love to walk. Local farms have dairy cattle and horses. We fell in love with the little yearling colts! Everything is thought of, all the supplies other than your groceries although they do have a well-appointed hamper until you can get to the grocery store. Lots to see and experience locally including Frome which is adorable. We loved staying here!!

Nick would make breakfast in the morning or would help make a wash for you. He really wants you to feel as a guest and can be really entertaining.

  • The short & simple: I could not more Highly recommend this air bnb! :-) This one is simply the best & not to be missed! If you are traveling in the U.K. & hope to explore the Western part of the country, & need a clean, comfortable place to stay? Then don’t miss this one! The following are just a few highlights / reasons why you should stay here. Nick’s place is warm, comfortable, extraordinarily clean & tidy, close to all the sights e.g; Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge, Stratford upon Avon & many more ( too many to list.) What is more, this air bnb is brilliantly located in a super safe neighborhood & you are just a stones throw from the Tesco express & there are other choices as well, such as Lidl & Aldi. The nearby town has your choice of some great food! Everything from Thai & indian cuisine to more traditional British fare & the local pub is also just a short walk away. Nick’s air bnb is very clean. The shower is hot. The space and bed are gorgeously comfortable, clean, & cozy. You have as much interaction with Nick himself as you like: he is an authentic British gentleman in every sense of the word with a lovely sense of humor, & a pure joy to engage in conversation with. Yet, perhaps, most importantly you can be yourself around him..... You can relax. The vibe in the house makes you feel safe, welcome, & right at home. He offers toast & tea in the morning & offers unique insights into not only the immediate area, but anywhere in Britain. On a personal note: Nick went above & beyond to ensure that I had the best stay possible & when one of my excursions was cancelled he took me around in his own motorcar, showed me around the area stopping to see sights that tourists would never know of & invited me to join him and his mates at the local pub where his team played skittles and, they won! If you love culture & would like a more cultural experience this air bnb will certainly enlighten you. Nick even taught me how to make a proper, authentic cup of British tea. In fact, he makes the best tea I’ve ever had. And I am a serious tea drinker. But, alas, enough from me. Stay here & see for yourself! In that, sadly, I can’t write enough to do this one the justice it deserves. Highly, highly recommend. Don’t miss this one !

    Paul2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely accommodation, very pleased with everything. The only thing I would say is to bring ear plugs as you can hear a little of the road noise from the single bedroom, but I am very sensitive to this. Very good value and would highly recommend.

  • Carol and Harry are great hosts. They are very thoughtful and true jewel for family holidays. We were honored to be their first guests, and it was beyond our expectations. They have got a lovely garden, absolutely amazing room, and everything you need for breakfast. The atmosphere was as nice as my little son didn't want to leave the place. Oh, regarding the location, I find it super practical for the ones who want to explore Frome, Bath and areas nearby, as they are located just in the middle. Highly recommended!
