Vacation Rentals in Wellingtonbridge

Just booked in Wellingtonbridge

A beautiful bijou home located in an 18th century walled garden with sea views. This is a very special place to call home...even for a few days. Located in the countryside, just 25 minutes from Wexford town, it is the perfect peaceful getaway.
The Red House is a unique house, it was built around a year ago and is attached to an 18th century coach house which is under restoration. Every detail of the interior received great thought and attention! The kitchen counter top is made from slate salvaged from a snooker table, the sofa is constructed from salvaged pallets. The house is in a walled garden and during the day, hens roam freely. I have two cats and a dog also. There is a sea view from upstairs.
Bannow bay is a truly beautiful area. The house is a 1 minute walk from a bird sanctuary so any wildlife lovers will adore it here. There are lots of fantastic, relatively deserted beaches just down the road. Hook head is a 30 minute drive, Kilmore quay and Wexford town are just 20 minutes away and Rosslare strand is 45 minutes away. The house itself is retreat enough however! If you want a quiet weekend, away from the city, this will be the perfect spot for you. It is incredibly relaxing here!
  • I would highly recommend Ann's beautiful "red house"!! It is a innovative, highly artistic and warming home. Every detail of the home is totally creative! The setting is gorgeous. Her grounds make beautiful use and of the historic landmarks in her garden and the area is full of beautiful walks and the bird watching down by the sea is fantastic. Ann was a warm respectful host and accommodated me wonderfully though I had made a very late booking. She had everything perfectly laid out for me and explained the workings of the house simply and efficiently. She also left me two absolutely beautiful little cakes!!! Her two wonderful cats were great companions! I highly recommend this retreat home and would gladly visit again.

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautiful house. The fire was on when we arrived and it was nice and cozy. Ann explained everything important in a very easy going way. Her cat was absolutely nice and cuddly and always joined us sitting in front of the fire. This house is in a lovely location with nice views over the water. Very relaxing! Will be back soon!

  • We had an amazing time at The Red House, it was even better than expected! Ann picked us up about 5 minutes from the house as it is located in a beautiful little lane way. The garden was beautiful, the house like a dream and the view of the water very impressive. Ann was lovely to deal with and we couldn't recommend the place high enough. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend and we will certainly be back!

  • We had a wonderful, relaxing time in the Red House, less than 2h from Dublin. Ann is a very nice host and despite a late booking everything was ready at our arrival including delicious hand made muffins. The house is charming, the view is great and the surroundings ideal for relaxing walks near the sea. An oasis of peace, ideal for resting, reading, or simply relaxing in front of the fire in the company of two adorable cats. Uno splendido posto dove staccare la spina e rilassarsi! We highly recommend it and we hope to be back soon.

  • Ann was a great host! We didn't meet her, but the communication was great! Will repeat experience for sure!! The house is absolutely amazing! Thank you Ann!

  • Staying at Ann' s house has been fantastic. We didn't meet Ann but Ann explained everything important and there were very handy instructions around the house. The house was really beautiful and bright, when the fire was on it was warm and cosy, cat joined us, she was very cuddly and friendly ) This is perfect place for getaway, so relaxing, just what we needed. Thanks for everything :)

    Maria2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was incredible. An interesting layout and filled with art, books and a stoves which keeps the whole place warm creates such a unique feeling/experience. It was the perfect finish to our trip along the south coast. Anne is a great host and is just a call away from anything you need.

    Aidan2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ann was a great host from the beginning. I stayed with my boyfriend for a weekend and we both really enjoyed it. Ann communicated clearly with me and took care that we knew all the instructions to get to the house and left the place cosy, clean and tidy for us. She even left notes around the house explaining everything in detail as we arrived at night and, unfortunately, we did not have the pleasure to meet her. The house is what we really wanted, in a quiet and relaxing place with no noises. The house is decorated nicely and the location is ideal with great views. Personally, we enjoyed the company of one of the cats (we did not get the chance to meet the other one :)) and there was a friendly dog outside who was also very welcoming! We really enjoyed Ann's red house and we hope to come back in the future!

    Wellingtonbridge , Wexford, Ireland

With spectacular views of Bannow Bay, The Lodge is a place that induces a long, deep intake of breath. It’s like a look-out post to the elements – expansive skies meet earth and fields that slope to the sea. Blackhall and Bannow Island, within a five-minute drive, have long sandy beaches. The wonderful Tintern Abbey and Colcough Gardens are fifteen-minutes away, and Wexford town is twenty-five.
The Lodge is surrounded by countryside. It’s situated on the grounds of our family home, though with unobstructed views of the sea it has privacy. The interior has been lovingly designed and constructed, with solid timber flooring downstairs, an old, handmade Wexford dresser in the kitchen area, and bespoke doors to the bedrooms. It is centrally heated and is very well insulated.
We are situated approximately one mile from the villages of Wellingtonbridge, which has a large SuperValu supermarket, and Carrig-on-Bannow, which has a Post-Office, newsagent, The Red Door Cafe, a Catholic Church and two pubs. The beaches of Blackhall and Bannow Island are a five-ten minute drive, and those of Baginbun and Carnivon a fifteen-twenty minute drive. The area has many tourist attractions, some of which include Hook Head and Hook Lighthouse, Tintern Abbey and Colclough Gardens, Johnstown Castle, the Fort at Duncannon, Kilmokea Gardens, and the Dunbrody Famine Ship and museum in New Ross.
  • This place is amazing! Perfect for a relaxing wekeend. Ruth is very kind and always willing to help. There is all the amenities that you need on the house plus a big book with tips of what to do around, wich is very helpful. For sure I recommend this place.

    Gina2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful lodge. The welcome we received was excellent and it's a fantastic destination for a relaxing break away. Simon and Ruth were very accommodating and provided us with huge amounts of detailed information on the local area and its attractions. We loved the style of the lodge and the views were amazing. We would 100% recommend this lodge.

    Richelle2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Ruth and Simons house was one of our best Airbnb experiences so far. Everything was just as described and Ruth left us lots of information about the local area. We had complete privacy but Ruth was right there if you needed anything. The view was just as the picture only better. It made our stay (the fine weather helped as well) I can highly recommend this little secluded quiet spot, it was perfect for a 3 day break from the city.

    Adrienne2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth and Simon’s lodge is quiet and remote and the perfect getaway for our weekend. At night we could see every constellation and even shooting stars, in the morning the view over the estuary was lovely. It was easy enough to get to with (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps and the WiFi allowed us to stream TV on our laptops. We were delayed by traffic by a few hours and they were very flexible and responded within minutes to all our queries and gave us a great idea of what to do the next day. Ruth even texted the day before with recommendations of where to eat on our way there. Even better, we were able to bring along our small dog which made it very fun and easy for us!

    Tanya2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth and Simon's place was an absolute dream house! They did an excellent job of creating a great home with an amazing view. They were extremely friendly. I would absolutely recommend their place to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

    Jonathan2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely television free place to stay with a great view from the sitting room come dining room come kitchen. Only a few metres away to the main house if we needed anything but we didn't! A great place to stay and area to drive around.

  • Beautiful little lodge with fantastic views. Very well laid out and perfect for couples or family. Easy access to all of the attractions wexford has to offer. Would definitely recommend the lodge and would definitely return.

    Pamela2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my wife and our daughter spent 2 nights at Ruth's place. It is in a beautiful, peaceful part of Wexford. The views from the house over the water and countryside were gorgeous. The house itself had everything that we needed, was spotlessly clean and had a bright airy feel that we loved. In addition, the decking was a lovely place to sit out. Ruth and her family were lovely to deal with also. We would highly recommend this as a quiet place to stay and with a car, it is a great place to explore all that Wexford (and Waterford) has to offer.

  • Pauline and Chris were exceptionally thoughtful hosts with excellent guidance for our local tours and onward journey. A lovely place to stay.

    Niall2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Our room was so warm and cozy and allowed us to relax and breathe in the Wexford air. We travelled to this area to try and find ancestry roots in Enniscorthy. Pauline not only made us feel at home, she helped try and find people and placed to go to help with our research. Both she and her husband Chris went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. And let's talk about breakfast! Well, if their traditional Irish breakfast is what the Irish eat daily... that must be where the term, "the luck of the Irish" comes from. Travelers ... you can be confident in booking this home as it is everything it says it is and more...

    James2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Pauline were wonderful hosts, making us feel most welcome in their charming, cosy home. Our room with adjoining bath was very comfortable, and the sitting room was an extremely inviting space in which we enjoyed a cup of tea and cake in the evening, and our ample and tasty breakfast the next morning. In fact, the breakfast we were served was one of the best of our trip! We so enjoyed chatting with our hosts, and meeting their delightful dogs, as well! If ever we found our way back to the area, we would certainly enjoy staying with Chris and Pauline again, and highly recommend them to others.

    Phil2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were met by a very welcoming Pauline initially who made us a pot of tea served with some freshly made cakes which were delicious. Later met Chris when he came in from work who was also very friendly and informative about the area. Brookvale is a great location to stay if you are travelling to or from Wales via the ferry from Rosslare as only 30 mins drive. Delicious breakfast served also to set you up for the day.

    Jan2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Brookvale. Chris and Pauline are very friendly and obliging. Pauline gave us some tremendous tips and suggestions re our travel around the west Atlantic Way. The breakfast we were provided was superb- restaurant quality. It was a pity we only had the one night with them. It is a first class BnB. It is outstanding value and I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling in the Wexford area.

    Rob2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant hosts, nice room, and probably the best breakfasts we have had in any country at any time. Highly recommended.

  • Absolutely wonderful hosts who went out of their way to ensure a very comfortable stay. I do travel a lot and have been to many B&B's and Air B&Bs and so far this is the best B&B I have stayed in. It gives a homely feel more than a guest house. I would definitely stay here any other time I am in Wexford and need a place to stay.

Elrove is located in Clonmines Wellingtonbridge a rural area close to the coast and its beaches. The nearest village is 6 minutes drive away which has shops, pub, restaurants and other amenities. We are well located to take in all that the south east has to offer. The house itself is modern and spacious with a large garden and patio for outdoor dining.
  • I am writing this on behalf of my mother. She loved her time in Mary's place. The whole house was spacious and the value of it all was absolutely brilliant. Will be staying here again in future!

  • Lovely spacious house, quite remote, but landlady lives close by. She is very helpful if you have questions beforehand. We had a wheelchair user in our party and found the house suitable for her needs. There is no Wifi and the phone signal was not good in the area, but that was fine for us, we needed a break! We had a lovely time and loved the house. Our first Airbnb experience, definitely a good one!

  • My family and I had a lovely Christmas at Mary's beautiful house. It is even better than the pictures and in a lovely location. Mary was a great host responding to any questions we had immediately and recommending local places to eat for Christmas eve. There was 8 of us altogether and two dogs but the house felt very spacious whilst being very homely. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family.

  • Fantastically refurbished farmhouse apartment, with everything you need for a home from home. Friendly, helpful hosts and a beautiful part of Ireland to explore.

    Jane2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is remote and quiet, giving you the perfect escape from city life. A beautifully renovated farm house with fantastic facilities. They have everything equipped that you might need. The rooms are large and the beds have heat blankets, which adds extra coziness. Frank showed us around the farm and explained the milking process. Both him and Geraldine are super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this airbnb, even if the weather might now play along, you will have a nice time staying in. Especially with the crackle of the fireplace in the background.

    Hannah2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Happy to say myself and two friends were the first to experience Frank & Geraldine's lovely home. We arrived down on a Saturday evening, frank and geraldine were not around to meet us but a lovely friend of there's (also frank) met us and showed us about. The house itself has a bit of a wow factor when you walk through it. There is much more to it than what is shown in the pictures. It was exactly what we were after for the weekend. Frank and Geraldine had pretty much fully stocked the house for us with fire wood, food and drinks and ample reading material from his and Geraldine's book collection. We lit the fire and settled in for the evening with a glass of wine. On day two we met with Frank who was up early to begin work on his dairy farm. He showed us around the grounds, which has over 40 cows and a beautiful pond that has lots of fish. We went out for the day travelling around waterford and wexford. The house isn't too far from hook head (recommended) and even closer to the passage east car ferry to Waterford. When we returned, we sat outside in the beautiful back garden and frank told us a little more about his dairy farm business and his son & daughter. He also left us some more fire wood for the evening. The bathroom is something to be admired. All three of us has our chance to enjoy the free standing bath that fills up with light throughout the day and there was lovely soaps etc from Avoca. We had an early leave on the Monday back to Dublin. We had requested a spare mattress from frank which he gladly supplied and then some. The house actually has three bedrooms but one of the rooms has some belongings from his daughter. We actually didn't beed the extra room in the end but it was very nice to be offered. Would love to revisit. Quick escape out of the city, easy to find and lovely scenic views

    Ian2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Geraldine & Frank were very attentive hosts. They generously provided all the essentials for breakfast & even a bottle of rosé for evening entertainment! The house is well equipped & beautifully decorated. Bedrooms are luxuriously comfortable & the large bathroom has a "wow factor". The garden had a lovely seating area for relaxing in the evening sunshine after a busy day touring. Ballymitty is well located for exploring South Wexford & East Waterford.

  • Frank and Geraldine were extremely considerate hosts, and the house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated.

    Susan2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Air B&B experience Frank and Geraldine were very friendly hosts. They gave us a very warm welcome and presented a wonderful home for us to stay. Our children Ben and Emma loved the space outdoors and in. A fantastic garden with a lovely pool filled with orimental fish and a lovley little kitten called Lucky who the kids were mad about. A great base to explore the Southeast.

The Silver Mine is surrounded by countryside. It’s situated on the private grounds and has unobstructed views of the sea. The interior has been lovingly designed and constructed, with solid timber flooring and slate tiles downstairs, carpet upstairs, and a bespoke kitchen by a local craftsman. It has a piano and plenty of books! It is centrally heated, has a large wood-burning stove and is very well insulated.
The area has many tourist attractions, some of which include Hook Head and Hook Lighthouse, Tintern Abbey and Colclough Gardens, Johnstown Castle, the Fort at Duncannon, Kilmokea Gardens, Wells House, and the Ross Adventure Barn, Dunbrody Famine Ship and museum, and the Apex pool in New Ross. Waterford city is a forty minute drive via the car ferry at Passage East.
  • Really lovely property with plenty of space and views that change from hour to hour. Good base to explore the surrounding areas.

  • Can’t fault anything. House was ideal, Kasia, Andy and the family were all very friendly and accommodating. Was staying with them for a wedding in the area, they offered to give me a lift over to the hotel the next morning to collect my car which wasn’t necessary. Would highly recommend

  • We had a wonderful time in Courtyard House. The cottage is beautiful, spacious, immaculate and furnished to really high standards, with everything you may need for a great holiday. We loved the beauty and peace of Rosegarland Estate, it is an ideal place for a family holiday. There is a great playground, a playroom, so many wonderful walks around the estate and a fairy village too! Sarah is a wonderful host, she gave us clear directions to get to the property and was always available for suggestions about things to do and places to see. It was a lovely experience and we hope to come back in the future.

We offer self-catering accommodation in county Wexford, Ireland. Situated on the Bannow Peninsula on the south coast of Wexford, Bannow Cottages are an ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries. The self-catering cottages are located on a quiet country lane, close to the historic buried city of Bannow, the site of the first Norman landing in 1169. We have 3 self-catering cottages in a restored farm building named The Forge, Biddy and Alice, and also the original Farmhouse. The accommodation throughout is of a very high standard, with an atmosphere of simple rural charm. The garden in front of the cottages was formerly the old haggard, and is surrounded by an old stone wall. All cottages have a "No Smoking" policy.
  • John and Claire were genuine lovely hosts who were very welcoming, had great knowledge of the area and we had a lovely time chatting and getting to know each other. We had a fabulous holiday in Carraig an Bannow such a beautiful, quiet location to see the sunny south east with good beaches, fresh food and lovely countryside walks. "Biddy" had everything we needed and was lovely and comfortable. We had a really lovely holiday, would highly recommend staying here and will definetly be back! Thanks John and Claire!

    Ruth2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in one of John's self-catering cottages was perfect for my small family. The cottage is very generously sized, with a brilliantly equipped kitchen, a nice big bedroom with plenty of room for a cot, a very useful walk in airing cupboard/closet and a family sized bathroom. Outside there is a big enclosed garden to play in which was great for a toddler, and the wifi was good and strong! It's a really pretty spot and the stone cottages were very sweet, well kept and well heated when needed. John and Claire were more than welcoming and not only helped me find all the shops and services that I needed during a fairly long stay, but they pointed me in the right direction for lots of great places to visit, and activities for children. Particular favourites for us were the JFK Memorial Arboretum and Apple Farm at Ballycross. The area is well known for having the best weather in Ireland and it didn't disappoint. There are some great beaches within walking distance and lots of places to visit within an hour's car journey. Thanks John and Claire for such a great stay, and making us so welcome.

  • My wife Eva and myself have just returned from a marvellous week in 'Biddy' in Bannow Cottages in South Wexford. Our hosts John & Claire were most welcoming and extremely hospitable. No effort or trouble was spared to ensure we had a great holiday. They were a mine of information on the local area which was a great help to us. The cottage itself was a very tasteful conversion of an old farm building. It had an open plan living area with a wood burning stove and kitchen area at the rear. It was very well equipped with all mod cons including satellite TV and stereo system. Upstairs was a large comfortable bedroom with walk in wardrobe and large bathroom with shower and a big old fashioned bath. The cottage is the perfect hideaway for a couple who want to relax in comfort in a stress free environment. There is a sunny sheltered barbecue area where you can cook your dinner and relax over a drink or two if the weather allows. There is a lovely 15 minute walk from the cottage through woodland to beautiful Bannow Bay where you can walk for hours on the foreshore if you wish. it is also within convenient driving distance to a great selection of restaurants serving freshly caught superb tasting seafood. It is a perfect base for touring around historic South Wexford and the area is replete with ancient historic sites to visit. It is close to Bannow Island where the Normans landed in 1169 and to Tintern Abbey and other attractions. It is also close to many nice beaches for which Wexford is rightly famous. We will certainly return at some future time and we strongly recommend 'Biddy'.

  • My stay was nothing short of fantastic. The mobile home is in the back garden of a family home - home to a lovely local family. It has been lived in by one of the sons of the family and is great condition. It is decorated nicely and contains two comfortable bedrooms, all with comfortable, mattresses and clean bed clothes. There is a large living space with a table. There is running water, hot water in a nice shower, gas in a stove, kitchen utensils and a TV. There is also a little garden out the front. It would be quite a long walk from the village of Wellingtonbridge (we had bicycles). It is a perfect stop off on a trip from Wexford Town towards the astounding Duncannon beach. The hosts were extremely welcoming and generous - I can't thank them enough!

  • A big and clean caravan, with a deck and a privat lawn. Very cosy and plenty of sockets and electricity. Living room spacious and comfortable. No internet, but Vodafone 4 works well. 3 has poor coverage. Kitchen surprisingly big and plenty of hot water. Shower had poor pressure, but also hot. Tina left us a bowl of strawberries, which was very kind. Ask Tina for the colour of the house, as (Hidden by Airbnb) maps does not tell you exactly name of house or precise location.

  • Very nice place for a family! Tina provided travel cot for our son and it was so nice of her. Very welvoming touched like coloring books for girls and fruits for us. Bed is comfortable, all good

  • It's a nice and warm place to stay!

    Gio2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really happy with the accommodation, Tina went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. Just a little bit tricky to find (which is common in Ireland) but, we got there in the end.

    Jason2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Tina for being such a gracious & welcoming host. The strawberries, tea, milk cereal etc were very much appreciated. We all enjoyed your warm inviting place that was roomy enough for the little kiddies to crawl, walk, explore. The playground area in the garden was an added bonus, pity about the weather. The caravan was clean, spacious & tastefully decorated. It had everything one needed plus nice shower & towels supplied. You and your husband are lovely people & we look forward to staying with you again. Regards, Dorina & Jim

  • Staying on Jodie’s place was a real pleasure, the location of the house couldn’t be better for a lovely family break with lots to do and see for all of us. The house it self was really lovely and Jodie thought of everything that we needed. Jodie was always available on the phone yet we had all the privacy we want. We have got plenty of advices about where to go and do and there was lots : ) I simply can’t recommend Jodie’s place highly enough!!! Definitely coming back soon !!!

  • We're just back from a fantastic long weekend at Oyster haven. The view from the property is absolutely amazing, we drank many a cup of tea on the bench outside just savouring the sea view which is literally at the bottom of the driveway. Our kids had a great time searching for crabs and collecting shells when the tide was out. The house is in a great location for exploring Irelands Ancient East. We had a couple of lovely daytrips to the hookhead lighthouse, dunbrody abbey baileban beach and took the passage east ferry across to Dunmore East. The local in Dunbrody does great value fish and chips with the largest child's portion I've ever seen! The house and everything in it is brand new and has everything you could possibly need for a weekend or longer away. The kitchen was really well equipped. The house was really comfortable, we made a fire every evening and it is always nice to have a sea view from your bedroom! Jodie was really helpful. We were sad to leave and we'll definitely be back. We would highly recommend this house to anyone thinking of booking.

A beautiful converted stone building retreat. This spacious self catering cottage is the ideal base for touring south Wexford. There are numerous beaches within minutes from the property with the local beach only a five minute walk.
  • This is a homely converted barn just a short walk to the local beach, which is secluded and lovely. A car is essential to avail of the areas of interest and restaurants nearby. The accommodation itself is comfortable and cosy. Our host left us with all the ingredients needed to enjoy a full Irish breakfast each morning and was close at hand if we needed anything, which we didn't. There was a wifi connection in the adjacent house. Unfortunately the signal wasn't strong enough to reach inside our accommodation, so any internet browsing had to be done outside in the yard. A remedy for this would be a wifi-range extender, which is something our host might consider for the future. Overall it was wonderful experience in a gorgeous part of Ireland. Thank you Helena

Rathmoon: Is a restful oasis surrounded by water and trees; inspired by both our ancient Celtic heritage and the beauty of the natural world.
"Rathmoon" is a private secluded residence and studio, The house itself is quite unique being formed around a curved stone wall reminiscent of an old Irish ring fort.
Rathmoon is located just approx. 100 meters from the New Line Road R733, and 10 minutes drive to the Whitford Hotel Roundabout at the edge of Wexford Town. It is a short drive to attractions such as Johnstown Castle, Kilmore Quay, Tintern abbey and Cullenstown beach.
  • My wife, young son and I stayed at Rathmoon for three nights. We had a wonderful experience in this beautiful house and grounds. Xiaohong was an excellent host; helpful, kind and generous. She organised a comfortable single bed for our young son and he greatly enjoyed playing with their lovely boy, Nathaniel, and his toys. The house, designed by Xiaohong's architect husband, Peter, is fabulous; light-filled yet private and our self-contained studio was bright, clean and cozy. Throw in beautiful gardens and ponds, Peter's stunning artwork, several acres of pristine beech woodland, easy accessibility to Wexford, Rosslare and Hook Head. Great hosts in a great location. Who wouldn't want to stay here?? Highly recommended!!

  • I had such a wonderful time staying in Xiaohong and Peter's beautiful home. They're fantastic hosts - so friendly and helpful, and they went over and above to make me feel comfortable and welcome. The house and gardens are truly stunning, and it was a highlight of my trip to be shown around by Peter, who designed and built them. The location was also ideal for a wedding I was attending at Horetown House, just ten minutes away. The self-catering flat is perfect - light and airy, with lovely views over the garden. A wonderful place, and one I really hope to return to!

The Piano Recital Festival in New Ross is a stone's throw from Garryrichard. You will need a car. Public transport is very sparse. The house is simple, furnishings are old-fashioned - but that only adds to its charm!
I love Tintern Abbey with its trails and walks. We are located at the mouth of the beautiful Hook Peninsula. Hook Head is magnificent, it is close to Loftus Hall (the most haunted house in Ireland), beaches such as Dollar Bay and Booley Bay, award-winning restaurants and fantastic historical locations. New Ross, Wexford and Enniscorthy are close with medieval Kilkenny and Waterford within a stone's throw. We have fantastic fishing near our house. Traditional Irish music played weekly in our local pub - within walking distance. Story-telling monthly. What's not to love? We love it all - and so will you!
  • We were attending a wedding at nearby Horetown House, which unfortunately has only a few guestrooms. Luckily, we found Ellen's place which is in the nearby village of Foulksmills - less than a 5 min drive away. Ellen is a great host and was always available when we needed any assistance. Plenty of room in the house and everything you need for self-catering. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

    Colin2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable stay at Ellen's home. Very clean, quiet, rural home situated on a dairy farm and a lovely spot to stay for our first few night in Ireland. Ellen was a gracious host making sure we were comfortable. She went out of her way to ensure our baby had a crib and high chair during the stay and she even took my 5 year old daughter over to see her new litter of puppies! Puppies plus cows -- a real highlight for my city kids!

    Marlene2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Handy location for attending a wedding in Foulksmills. Didn't spend much time in the house but it satisfied our needs perfectly.

  • Deep in the Irish Country Side. Rural setting near a small town. Quiet and peaceful. Horse and Hound approx 10km away offered a great evening meal

    Kevin2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described and Ellen was really nice to deal with and extremely helpful. Would stay again for sure!

  • A nice place to stay in an Irish village, with a fun farm experience.

    Sean2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay and great host

    Ian2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ellen was very welcoming. The house was perfect for our visit. We appreciated the bread, milk, tea and coffee left out for our breakfast - this was not expected as the house is self-catering. It had everything you could wish for - loved the old Aga. It reminded me of my granny's house. If you wanted to stay for a holiday destination, it is very central to loads of attractions. It is close to Horetown House, and there are loads of places to visit. We visited Tintern Abbey where there are beautiful walks. You will need a car. I saw no public transport. The house has everything - heating, washing machine and clothes line, fridge, cooker etc. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Our room was cosy and comfy - just what we needed on our stay in Foulksmills. Ellen had the forethought to leave leaflets of places of interest in the house so our day could be planned - thoughtfulness and attention to detail was excellent. Highly recommended on many levels. Not for parties - the house is attached to the host's home.

  • We had a lovely stay at Brian and Connys cosy, fully equipped, 2 bed apartment. It was just the 2 of us but 5 people could stay easily. Brian and Conny were very welcoming and full of knowledge and advice about the area. Quiet area, situated right by the beach and some other lovely beaches and tourist attractions close by. Pub right next door. Nearest village 2 miles. Highly recommended weekend escape to coast.

  • Absolutely brilliant ! We adored every second we spent in this 2 bed apartment. Brian and his wife Conny couldn't have done more to make us feel at home and welcome. As for the accommodation it was first class. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped. The bathroom was excellent too with a modern hot shower. And the bedrooms were very comfortable. As for the area, we fell in love with it. The views are spectacular and we found the locals to be very friendly and approachable. It's authentic Ireland at it's best in the sense that it doesn't feel too touristic. It's off the beaten tourist track. We went for a bite to eat in nearby Kilmore Quay and my wife, who is French has never tasted crab or seafood this good in Ireland before. Overall, it's a treasure to behold.

  • We LOVED this house and hope to go back asap. Great communication with Alex. Really nice and friendly and very approachable. We got lost so we phoned Alex and she had us on the right track in minutes. The house was warm and cosy when we arrived (it's November). Really nice to arrive to this on a blustery winter night! The place was spotless and the beds made up with lovely quality linen. The quality of everything in the house is top notch. Well equipped to cook which we did. Myself and 4 girlfriends rented the house to chill out and catch up and it was so perfect for this. It's 10 mins from Wellington bridge but we had a big shop done and stayed put for the weekend. We lit the fire and cooked mussels which Steven the fisherman dropped down to us. We took a quick walk to the beach which is a few minutes down the road but didn't make it further really! Can't recommend it enough really. The rolltop bath looking out over the sea views is heavenly!

  • A beautiful farmhouse in a wonderful scenic location, we had a wonderful stay here with friends and young children. We loved the house, stylish, comfortable and traditional in the best sense. The location was superb, with sea views from most rooms, it was a wonderful break from city life, and the children loved the beach less than a minute's walk away. There's so much to do and explore in the area too - Hook Head lighthouse, Loftus Hall and Kilmore Quay were highlights for us. Thanks for a great stay, Alex!

    Fiona2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time and were blessed with fantastic weather for the early January stay. Clear blue skies, wonderful for beach walks at Bannow and exploring surrounding towns. Fantastic fish from the local fisherman delivered at great value to order. A really terrific cottage which has been beautifully refurbished and is very welcoming. A lovely fenced garden and fantastic views to the sea.

  • Myself and some friends rented Crosslake for a weekend and we had a great time. Alexandra was very friendly calling me beforehand to make sure we had all the details to the house and gave a lot of additional info and suggestions to enjoy our stay there. Even though I took some of the directions slightly wrong, we managed to find the house and calling Alexandra was very helpful with giving the directions again. We loved the house very much, it was perfect for a relaxing weekend. It is in a very quiet and beautiful part of the countryside with farms all around and only a few minutes away from the sea. It was tastefully, simply and beautifully decorated, just as you see in the pictures. We spent lots of time in the kitchen cooking & chatting - lots of tools we needed were there, only we thought the oven was not as warm as we wanted - but there was a grill which worked very well for us. We spent the evening in the cozy living room for a fire-side chat and a music session - lots of art pieces made of natural materials on the walls and musical instruments used as decoration. We did not needed to go out as the house was very comfy. The house warms up very well, even in a winterish day. Our walk along the beach was lovely and there is a green spacious south-side facing garden.. Later we enjoyed exploring the grounds and the woods around the Tintern Abbey which was may be 30 min drive from the house. I highly recommend Crosslake for a countryside break, great for a family or a group of 6-8 friends. We would go back again for another time for sure.

    Yesim2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Crosslake was simply beautiful! A very warm and wonderful base to explore a great part of the world. The house is a perfect mix of traditional Irish farmhouse and contemporary style, very comfortable and beautifully finished. The location is great too, far enough away for complete peace and quiet, but close enough to a couple of villages with shops and pubs and people. Highly recommended!!

    Nick2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic family trip to Crosslake! Everything was exactly as described and Alex gave us great information about the house, arriving and getting settled, and the surrounding area. We are so looking forward to returning to Crosslake and don't think we will be able to wait too long! A brilliant place to stay in Wexford.

    Rhona2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Alexandra was quite helpful during the arrangements and gave lots of suggestions on places on site to visit, pubs and restaurants. The house was amazing: a real Irish country-side experience with all the comfortable requirements people from the city would require. As a group of 8 girls, we enjoyed very much staying at Crosslake, and hope to visit again some day in the future!

    Karla2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic family Christmas at Alexandra's house. The house is warm and comfortable and nicely furnished. It's worth knowing that the upstairs bedrooms are all interconnected, so best for families or close friends. The location is spectacular.

  • Bernie and her family were lovely and extremely hospitable. The room was very clean and cozy. The farm and the surroundings were lovely to go exploring and it was the perfect location to visit all the sites in the area.

    Betsy2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bernie was a wonderful host, very friendly, with tea and cake to greet us when we arrived. We had a spacious room with ensuite bathroom and its own small kitchen. Great location, very quiet with sea views and were even treated to a tour of the farm.

    Ted2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is really spacious, well equipped and luxurious accommodation in a spectacular location with a fascinating history. Two beaches, an ancient ruined church, and a wetland full of birds are all within walking distance. Bernie and her truly delightful family gave me a very warm welcome, suggested where I could walk and showed me around their well run dairy farm. The lounge included informative books about the area's fascinating history - well worth a read, especially before you head to the church ruins and site of a lost town. I spent just one night here before catching a morning ferry from Rosslare, but for anyone who loves the great outdoors there is so much to see and do that it would make a great base for a longer holiday. And children would love the farm, calves etc.

  • This airbnb is located in one of those places you see in beautiful landscape photos, where there is ocean but also a farm. There are tons of neat things to see especially the old church that is on their land and only a short walk. It's close the the beach and look out points. Bernie was extremely helpful suggesting places to visit and things to see. All around this is defiantly a place I would recommend.

    Dana2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Bernie is an absolutely lovely host - so incredibly accommodating and kind. She went out of her way to make us comfortable and get us where we needed to go. My friend and I did not have a rented car, but for a quiet stay we didn’t feel it a hindrance. You can spend hours walking around the beautiful neighborhood and beaches and come back to play with the farm animals. Overall wonderful experience!

    Clare2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Bernie's. She was so friendly and welcoming, and very helpful with knowledge of the local sights and services. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were served a lovely afternoon tea on arrival. We chose to cook our own evening meal rather than eat at the nearby village, and the kitchenette provided was perfectly adequate for this. Food for a full breakfast next morning was provided, an unexpected bonus. Bernie's farm is set in beautiful coastal land, so peaceful and quiet. We would thoroughly recommend this place for a quiet rural getaway.

    Leigh2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 without a question. I would recommend a stay here for both short and long lettings as there is so much to do both on the farm and in the local area to accommodate any occasion. Bernie is an amazing host who cannot do enough to help. During our stay she recommended a quaint little restaurant around 20 minutes away, where I had some of the best food I have had! Both me and my partner both felt as we were sure getting the best out of our stay in Ireland. The room is located on the ground floor in a sectioned off area with plenty of privacy. The furniture and utilities were more than we could've needed and is more than adequate for self catering. Bernie had also left plenty of items for breakfast for us. The farm is on an idillic piece of land that the photos do not do justice. We left at sunrise and took a walk to Bernie's private beach and it was truly picturesque. Being skeptical myself about certain lettings and over zealous reviews - I cannot stress enough that this place is a true gem on the website. Thank you Bernie!

  • We had a wonderful stay for one week at Anne's farmhouse. The photos on the website do not do it justice. It is nicer in person than it appears on the website. The rooms are spacious and bright and well appointed. We had loads of room for our family of 4. Everything in the house is new and up to date. The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of dishes, all the equipment needed to cook and lots of space to unwind. The front room has satellite TV with hundreds of channels. The WiFi is a bit sporadic (the best reception is on the back patio) but generally useable, at least to do email and check the sports scores! Anne is a charming hostess who provided lots of kitchen supplies and was ready with advice and helpful suggestions. All the beds have nice new mattresses and were made with lovely new sheets and towels. Located a 5 minute drive from the nearest small town and about 20 minutes from Wexford, which is the closest large centre. Not a lot of nightlife but a peaceful, quiet escape with lots to see within easy driving distance. We highly recommend this place.

  • Our second Summer in a row to stay at this lovely house! That says alot! Ann has done even more renovations since our last stay, each bedroom is beautiful, relaxing and extremely comfortable. Ann could not be more friendly or helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect for us, Wexford town, New Ross, Hook Head, Duncannon, Kilmore Quay, the ferry from Ballyhack to Passage East, all a short drive from Ann's house. Once again, we would not hesitate to return to Ann's house!

Rooms and beds extremely comfortable. We have two children aged 5 and 2 and it was ifeal for us all. Location very close to wedding venue, easy to travel and local amenities within 4km. Would recommend the property highly. Ann is lovely, even helped with a lift to the venue so i didnt need to drive, provided sweets for the children when checking in yet didnt intrude. Friends stayed in local b&b's and i'm not sure we would have had the same experience and for the same price. It's your own house so would recommend without a doubt. Thank you again Ann, we had a lovely time.

  • Ann was a great host for us. She was abroad when we arrived but made arrangements for our arrival and contacted us before hand to check we were happy. The house has been wonderfully renovated and has everything you could need - from jigsaw puzzles to crockery sets. Most of all, everything was made to be very easy such that we felt right at home. Thanks Ann!

  • We had a lovely stay in Wexford. Ann and her family are really nice and very helpful. As mentioned in the description the some rooms still have to be renovated but that did not reduce our experience.

Our house is situated on a quiet country road with a view of the Saltee Islands which are located off the coast of Kilmore Quay. We have 2 friendly dogs and numerous chickens roaming the gardens. Duncormick is a lovely quaint village with just a grocery shop a public house and a church in it. The public house ( the famous Sammies ) Sinnotts has all the charm of a traditional Irish country pub, a must see if in the area. There is a lovely river passing through the village with a beautiful walk along its banks.
  • Although only staying for a short night before leaving Ireland again, we immediately felt at home. We only met Del as Val had to work that night. Del was very hospitable and kind. He even gave us some fresh eggs from his hens to take with us and one of the delicious self-made jams of his wife as we liked it so much. Thank you so much for that! Our room was spacious and comfortable. Before we left in the early morning Del showed us his farm and the chicken. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our Golden Retriever girl also enjoyed playing with their loveable dogs so much. If you wanna experience pure Irish hospitality this is the right place to stay.

  • Would highly recommend staying at this lovely house with Val and Del! They were very welcoming and offered great suggestions for sightseeing and local places to eat.

  • Val and Del are fabulous hosts. Very generous and kind. They have two lovely dogs and are extremely dog friendly. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable and the location is very peaceful. This is my second visit, enroute to the ferry at Rosslare. I will definitely stay again .

  • Val, Del and their mum Anne are absolutely amazing and warm hosts, we felt very welcome and they took great care about us. The room is quite spacious and comfortable. Everything was as described. Even we just had one night on our way back to Dublin we would definitely come back for a longer stay in this beautiful spot when visiting Ireland again.

  • Del and Val are great and warm people. They have A beautifull home with their doos and chicken, they did al their best to give us great stay. del even gave us a tour to show us the beautiful seaside.

  • This is a warm, relaxing home with beautiful gardens, fruit trees, vegetable plots, chickens… and two very personable dogs, Jasper and Howler! Our accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Valerie and Del are generous hosts, and the breakfast they provided (with fresh laid eggs and home-made jams) was memorable. My young daughter was well pleased to go out with Del to collect new-laid eggs, and our hosts shared plenty of local information, leading to a morning visit to Cullenstown beach, wild, unspoiled and very close. The accommodation is in a quiet rural area, yet close to Wexford town, Rosslare Harbour and many beaches, coastal walks and heritage sites. We arrived as clients, parted as friends, and look forward to our next visit.

  • Valerie and Del (the house warden :D) where both very nice, giving us a warm welcome and precious suggestions on how to best enjoy our stay in Co. Wexford. Their house is beautifully placed in the countryside making you taste the peace and tranquillity of living outside the city. Everything concerning the accommodation was perfect: spacious and tidy room, warm bed, private bathroom and towels included were all very appreciated things. Val and Del own two dogs that are absolutely lovely and participate to the friendly atmosphere of the house. Last but not least the hens that they farm in the backyard are by far the biggest and most gorgeous I've seen in my life :D I'm sure their eggs are wonderful. Pretty obvious conclusion: I strongly recommend a stay here

"Stable Cottage" is an old traditional style, converted stone barn, near our historic old farmhouse. It retains many original features such as the original old natural slated roof, old beams, pine boarded floors, exposed original stone walls etc. etc.. It is very quiet and peaceful, on a small working tillage farm. Originally, it was the stable where the horses were sheltered and fed for the winter months while the wheat, feed oats etc was stored on the loft overhead.
"Stable Cottage", has been converted sympathetically, using mostly original and some locally sourced, recycled, materials. The roof timbers, for example, were sawn from old pine trees grown nearby, on the farm. Also the kitchen units and stairs were handmade by a local craftsman, from an old storm felled ash tree. Some sections of the old original stone walls are still exposed inside, in the kitchen/ living and bedroom areas. The cottage has all modern conveniences (ie Strong Wifi, Power Shower, washer, drier, full size cooker, dishwasher, microwave, satellite HD TV, central heating using a Carbon neutral, Big Bale, Straw Burner (operated by the owner) with a backup oil fired boiler. There is also a cosy open fire ( with logs, kindling etc. supplied ) for the long winter nights. The cottage is situated in the grounds of our historic 300 year old farmhouse, " Somers Fort" ( where we live ) from which Helen's great grand parents were famously evicted, during the Land War in August 1888. Because of the resistance and fortifications employed here at the time, there were no further evictions. The family, of course, soon returned and are still here today!
"Stable Cottage" ( one of three Barn Conversions ) is situated in the grounds of our old historic Farmhouse, in open countryside, on a working family farm, about 1 mile from Ballycullane village with fuel station/shop, Pub, post office, Church & garage. Attractions in the area include the 14 Beaches of the Hook peninsula and Hook Lighthouse, Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys (12th century), Loftus Hall. JF Kennedy homestead and Arboretum, the Dunbrody Emigrant ship, Killmokea house and Gardens, The National Heritage Park, Johnstown Castle Gardens and Agricultural Museum, etc.. Waterford city, famous for its crystal, and Kilkenny city are less than 1 hours drive. The Norman county town of Wexford ( good for shopping) is 40 minutes.
  • Perfect for a quiet weekend away. In a secluded location but not far from local beaches and other amenities. The cottage is quaint and cozy and has everything you could possibly need as well as a great open fire. The hosts were fantastic and added a few extra touches, such as fresh bread and a basket with tea and treats, to make our stay extra special. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay here again in the future.

  • Helen and Frank are warm and friendly hosts. The cottage is warm and cozy, a spectacular use of space. The skylights provide abundant natural light. We enjoyed the fireplace and the beautiful garden. There was plenty of space for 3-4 adults. We were quite comfortable! The locale is peaceful, and yet a short drive to the sea and many of the sites on the Hook Peninsula. Helen and Frank greeted us with a basket of goodies and breakfast items to help us get situated! We very much enjoyed our time here and hope to return again.

  • This charming little cottage is exactly as it was pictured. It was a perfect place to stay for a few days in Wexford. Helen and Frank were such lovely hosts. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the cottage. They were our first experience staying with Airbnb hosts, and they set a tough standard for anyone else to keep up with! We arrived exhausted from an overnight stay, and to have coffee and snacks waiting for us felt life saving! We enjoyed exploring so many of the lovely spots around Ballycullane - Tintern Abbey, Hook Head, and we really enjoyed our dinner at Mannion's Restaurant, a short drive away.

  • Really charming and quaint cottage in tranquil location. Cottage stylishly furnished and confortable. Ideal for getting away from it all. Well located for touring the many sights of the Hook Peninsula. Helen and Frank's warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Myself and my girlfriend visited the cottage a week after Ireland's worst storm in 50 years and the weekend of another powerful storm, and it only enhanced our visit. The cottage is adorable the exposed stone and the fireplace give it a real homely feel, the fridge was stocked with food for all our breakfasts, and on our last night after the storm had passed the sky was so clear and we were so isolated that we could see the Milky Way across the night sky. I would really recommend a visit.

  • What a gorgeous little find. The photos don't begin to describe how picturesque this cottage is. We loved every minute. Frank and Helen were great hosts, we wanted for nothing. We will be returning for sure. :-)
