“These gardens are world class. They are free to enter and you can wander around looking at the all the different gardens. My favourite is the newly opened garden, the Katherine Mansfield Garden. IT is a great place to take a picnic and enjoy a day out. There is a great little cafe too along with a very cool childrens playground. ”

“we took our grandchildren to the Hamilton Zoo and for Gus who loves to follow a map and find a reward, he wasnt disappointed at the rather exotic animals he found!!! He loved the walkways under the trees and seeing the tall giraffes heads over the wire enclosures was fascinating. The zookeeper was feeding the animals and Gus got to talk to him, and learnt about the personalities of the animals at the zoo. We brought a picnic and just sat under the trees then had an icecream at the onsite cafe- the hungry Morepork. This was a great day out for our family.”

“The Main beach in raglan. The learning beach for surfing. Bit of a walk to the beach from the car park but a good warm up for the day. Please consider the Wild West coast currents and swell so swim between the flags. Can walk the coastline all the way into the inner harbour to town (30-40min)”
