Mexican Restaurant
“Mamasita, meaning 'hot babe' in Spanish, is at once a taco and tequila bar, as well as a late night diner. The food at Mamasita is fresh and delicious. It's not fancy (Mexican food rarely is) but matches seasonal produce with complementary flavours. There is an extensive and well-considered tequila list. There are also Mexican beers, micheladas, margaritas and a wine list with both local and foreign contingents. All help to wash down corn chips and guacamole at the bar. Mamasita is open for lunch and dinner, right through to late-night snacks Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday lunch and evenings. So their promise of all day, all night is certainly true.”

Cocktail Bar
“This will certainly be one of the more fancy recommendations on my Melbourne and Fitzroy guide - at the top of the Rialto building 525 Collins Street (at one point the tallest building in Melbourne) exists Lui Bar - attached to the iconic Vue De Monde restaurant - Lui Bar is a great spot to have a cocktail and a small snack and take in an incredible view of Melbourne from above. I like recommending this bar rather than the Eureka tower observation deck as theres no charge to get in - but of course the drinks aren't free. Dusk or early evening is the pick of the times to be up there - a reservation is not required - though you will need to be in at least a collar or semi formal - no shorts permitted. ”

French Restaurant
“Vue de monde is a testament to the belief that dining can be a wondrous, unforgettable experience, and pays homage to classical fine dining in a modern context. If you’re celebrating a milestone, creating new memories or want a once-in-a-lifetime experience, don’t miss your chance to leave Melbourne with a new unforgettable night.”

Vegetarian / Vegan Restaurant
“Up for some tasty Vegetarian food? Vegie Bar is a great place for a casual vegetarian meal. The 20-year-old establishment is so consistently busy that it’s walk-in only for tables of fewer than six.”

Wine Bar
“Share tapas and artisanal Spanish wines and spirits at this contemporary bodega. BOMBA draws inspiration from the workers’ culture of Spain’s Catalan region. Following a million-dollar renovation in 2018, this intimate rooftop bar overlooking a leafy Lonsdale Street has become even more popular. Sample from the ever-changing menu, sip a sherry or vermouth and stay for a cocktail – or a movie: silent Spanish films are projected on the wall of the theatre beside it. With a retractable roof, drop-down windows, permanent and portable heaters for the colder nights, it’s an easy rooftop to stay warm and entertained at during winter. 103 Lonsdale Street”

Australian Restaurant
“Remember when we didn't share every dish on the table? Cumulus was one of the first to show us how good communal meals can be. It's still one of the best at it, whether you visit for a boozy brunch or a late-night snack.”

Hotel Bar
“This is the oldest pub in town with a warm, casual and friendly atmosphere. And if you've ever wanted to win a meat raffle, be there on a Friday evening. Offering lunch and dinner in a gastro-pub setting, they take bookings for groups larger than 20. Otherwise you just have to turn up and enjoy.”
