Just booked in Valdez

Convenient yet off the beaten path: 20 mins to Taos Ski Valley, 15 min to Taos Plaza. At the end of a dead-end road, amid fields, it's very quiet and peaceful here. You've got plenty of space, and I've just added an outdoor table and four chairs so you can sit and enjoy the spectacular views. But really, nothing beats sitting in the hot tub and looking up at the Milky Way! The hot tub has a privacy wall and it's all yours while you're here. Sorry no pets. NOW WITH IMPROVED WIFI.
Approx 400 sq feet, so it's roomy! The queen bed is really comfy (new mattress when I created the casita), and the couch pulls out to a full-size bed. (I've padded up the mattress on that considerably.) There are bookshelves stocked with lots of books, board games, playing cards, and DVDs. There is a DVD player, but no TV reception. The bathroom has a step-in shower, no tub. All around you are spectacular views of the mountains and, best of all, the dark Taos skies.
What I most love about this neighborhood is the dark sky at night. The stars are unbelievable, and I can sit in the hot tub for hours gazing at them. It's also really convenient for both the ski valley and town - and the village of Arroyo Seco, which is very pretty and has excellent cafes and shops, is only 2m away.
  • The casita was cute, cozy, and close to the mountain if you are going to ski. The walls are definitely thin, we could hear muffled voices and a piano playing during our stay. There was also no hot water on our second day. We left the tap running overnight as instructed, but the pipes still must've frozen somehow. Otherwise, the place was as pictured.

  • Allegra is a very welcoming host; her Casita was spacious and well equipt. The hot tub was just what we needed and the smattering of interesting books on the shelves kept us entertained. Allegra was accommodating of a short notice-one night stay. Thanks again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Allegre. The accommodations were spacious with a well maintained kitchen, great collection of books and movies. The location is very conveniently located from Taos Ski Valley. The host, Allegra, was very friendly and had excellent recommendations on places to eat and explore in the surrounding Taos area. We look forward to staying here again during our next trip to Taos.

  • Great cozy place, everything very clean, well set up with everything a guest would need.

  • Great place. Allegra was a fantastic hostess. The space is very nice and the hot tub (under the NM stars) was divine. We would stay again.

  • The experience was great, hospitality was spectacular, and the stay was so relaxing. The casita had everything we needed, down to the coffee pot and wifi. The location was nice because it was away from town but close enough to go for dinner and walks. I will definitely be reserving this place for another weekend get away.

    Rosendo2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Allegra was a great host! Accurate description of we paid for. Great option if you'd like to cook while staying there as the kitchen offers an oversized mini fridge and stove top. She also provides coffee, tea, creamer, and milk. The best part is the private hot tub which is perfect with the cold weather!

  • There were no surprises except the very cool cat, Archimedes (outside only). Read all the fine print and the other guest's reviews and you will be well prepared. To get there, I found it helpful to program the intersections leading the way into my GPS as waypoints ahead of time.

Two-story guesthouse nestled in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Perfectly situated 20 minutes from historic Taos and 15 minutes from the lift at Taos Ski Valley. Newly renovated 1 bedroom, 2 bath with all the amenities, including hiking trails out your door. Two pull-out sofa beds make it ideal for two couples or a couple with children...or better yet a romantic getaway for two with working wood stove and 360º views of the Valdez valley and the surrounding mountains.
New construction, just completed. Radiant heat flooring throughout with multiple zones. Lovingly furnished with antiques and just enough character to not compete with the splendor outside your door. Fall asleep with the milky way over your head and the sound of flowing water in the river below.
Valdez Valley is one of the most picturesque lush valleys in northern New Mexico. A historically Spanish settlement with the rio Hondo flowing through it and an active acequia system. Private setting with easy access to all that northern New Mexico offers. We sit at 7,500 feet.
  • Clean and very comfortable guest house with amazing views! Our hosts were very responsive. We found it a little tricky to locate as we arrived in the dark. Loved the patios, wood burning stove, radiant floor heating, and numerous windows. Even tho this is technically in a neighborhood, with the hills, trees, winding roads and amazing vistas we felt we were enjoying the hillside all to ourselves:)

    karen2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at this sweet little casita which feels a lot like being in a treehouse. Location is great and the hosts are wonderful. Dog is very friendly.! We were happy to be able to have access to Wi-Fi and Netflix. We will definitely be returning when we can start a fire in the fireplace. There's only one thing I would change - which is to add some more comfortable bedding. The bed itself is very comfortable but the foldout couches need updating. Otherwise, the place is sparkling clean and the views are amazing.

    Susan2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • First of all I'd like to say that Davison is an exceptional host! The guest house is very comfortable and has the most amazing views in all of the Sangre De Christo Mountain Range. The directions were easy to follow and Davison met me upon arrival. I will definitely be back as soon as possible!

  • We had a wonderful time at Ron's house in Taos. Ron was a great host...he checked in with us the day we were scheduled to arrive to see if we needed any help with directions, etc. And he also checked in with us during our visit to see how our visit was going and whether we needed anything. The property was in terrific condition, with all the amenities that anyone could need, and unexpected ones like Apple TV pre-loaded with an assortment of entertainment options. We rent a lot of luxury properties in ski resorts throughout the West and always appreciate homes that aren't lived-in when not rented out. This is a professional vacation rental with top-level amenities. The home is ~15 minutes outside the town of Taos (as noted), but just a few minutes from the highway that leads into Ski Valley. It's got terrifies view of the surrounding valley, and the views of the night ski were just incredible. If you are looking for a property centrally located between Ski Valley and Taos, with great views, and peaceful surroundings, I highly recommend this property.

    Morgen2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ron was there wend our family arrived took Great care of us to welcome us & make sure we were Settled in. Everything was as advertised. Would definitely stay here again & Highly recommend to anyone Looking for a beautiful, relaxing,& welcoming Experience

  • Fantastic location, great for groups and family gatherings. Host was delightful to communicate with, accommodations were just as described. Would highly recommend for late summer, which is when we stayed.

    Nicolas2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ron is a friendly and accommodating host. The house is stunning and comfortable with truly amazing views. Perfect location between town and the ski valley. Our family will definitely stay in this house again! FIVE STARS!!! The only thing that would have made this better was if we could have stayed longer. Anyone looking at this home will be overjoyed when they see it in person.

    Brian2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, close to Taos ski valley.

    Carlene 2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • I must say the pictures of this house do not do it justice! The house is beautiful, the views are amazing and the hot tub is great after a long day skiing. The bedrooms are huge and the master tub is great. The road in is fine, and it's only 20 minutes from the ski basin. I would definitely recommend this house!

    Alyssa2015-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! It's a very peaceful place and our group of 9 loved it. Ron met us there and went over all of the details. The heated floors are perfect! We will be back!

    Lisa2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was nothing short of magical. The house, property, and location completely exceeded our expectations. The house was a beacon of Zen energy that positively impacted our trip to Taos. I completely support the other reviews when they say the pictures do not do it justice. I had to take three different panoramic pictures to just capture the majestic, near 360 degree view from the property. You just have to see it for yourself. In terms of location, we absolutely loved being halfway between the ski area and the town of Taos. It was an amazing end to each ski day taking a short and beautiful drive down from the slopes, then being tucked away in our own private oasis at the base of the mountains. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find that Ron just had just installed an Apple TV in both the living room and one of the bedrooms, which was great to have for both the kids and adults. In addition, an amazing new sound system was installed which got lots of use during our stay. As a host, Ron enthusiastically ensured all of our needs were being met without invading our privacy, leaving us with a great feeling about the place. We will definitely be staying again there soon!

Charming log & adobe mountain house with full amenities and great views of Rio Grande mesa (front) & Sangre de Christo range (back). Perfect for retreat & relaxation or as a base camp for skiing or summer outdoor activities. No pets allowed.
Charming mountain house with all amenities and great view of the Rio Grande mesa and Sangre de Christo mountain range. The house is a combo of log-adobe style with propane heaters. Full kitchen -redone in 2010- and new bathroom (2013) with walk-in shower Altitude is near 8,000 feet.
It is a mountain neighborhood with large lots and plenty of space. Everyone appreciates their privacy and our neighbors are mostly permanent residents. Nice road to hike up among the pinons, junipers, and pines. A good workout right from the house! Plenty of trails few minutes away up toward Ski Valley in Carson National Forest and down toward the Rio Grande valley and mesa.
  • A really wonderful cabin with fantastic views. We had a lovely time and hope to return. The attention to detail and personal touches (from the lovely deck to the landscaping) made for an especially pleasant experience. Thank you so much, Pascale!

    Christopher2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • A magical place with an endlessly pleasing view. Couldn't recommend Pascale's cabin more highly.

    Christopher2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • My family has been visiting friends in Taos, NM for more than two decades, and we had one of our best trips yet while staying in Pascale's place. Her home is inviting, beautifully decorated and relaxed. It was very private and secluded, but close enough to town to run to the grocery store or a restaurant. The layout was perfect for 4 adults and 2 children. We even had our 15 mo. old in a pack n play in the master closet, and she did great. Since we had little children, we did not eat out much, and because Pascale has a fully stocked kitchen for meals at home. And you get to enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains while cooking. We enjoyed the trip so much, and can't wait to come back!!! Thank you very much, Jacque and Pascale.

  • Great place! We enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Cabin, so much that we stayed there for close to three months and we hope to be staying there in 2016. The views are great from either one of the outside decks and the kitchen, which became our favorite area. Large windows and a couple of areas to sit, have dinner or relax made it a great space. Stayed on the main level all of time, nice bedroom area with a good size closet. Bathroom with shower was nice and we were glad for the bathroom floor heater when the temperature dropped. Plenty of other heat sources if needed. Thanks for leaving the snow shovel out for handling the big snow event. Good information on the cabin and who to contact locally if needed. Host was very friendly, easy to get in touch with and prompt to respond when we wanted to extend our stay.

    Dan2015-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were so happy with our summer stay here. We absolutely loved the cooler mornings and evenings on the decks. The views were incredible from the whole house so even washing up after dinner was a treat. The area is north of the bustle of Taos - very quiet and peaceful - but easy to drive to what you need.

    Amy2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience here was wonderful. This cabin offered us amazing views and privacy while still be located close to town. Taos was only a quick 10-15 drive away. Watching the sunrises and sunsets from here were one of our favorite parts about this place. The process of check in/out was easy and flexable, as Pascale did everything she could to insure we were taken care of and happy. The cabin has everything anyone could need, as we never lacked for any modern convenience. We definitely want to come back one day. We even saw deer in the backyard just up the mountain in the afternoons.

    John2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Totally unexpected staying here as our original booking cancelled on us. Lucky for us Pascale also had a cancellation we were able to take advantage of. Home was beautiful in a beautiful setting. A drive from town (about 20 minutes) but well worth it since the house location makes your immediate surroundings so much to enjoy.

    jacob2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place. Perfect for a few days visiting the Taos area. It had gorgeous views. Excellent place for sitting and watching nature. Would stay there again!

In fact, if you're like us, you might never want to leave Stella Luna at all! Our lovely home offers a spacious, master suite with a King bed, attached office/nursery, TV/DVD, a Jacuzzi bath, and walk-in closet & dressing area. The second bedroom, conveniently separated from the master by the common living space, comes with a queen bed & double futon, TV/DVD, and an amazing view of Taos Mtn. While the house can comfortably sleep four adults, it can easily accommodate two more on the sleeper sofa in the living room. We love children and they're welcome at Stella Luna. We'll work with you to provide you the amenities you need.
Quiet country lanes with dramatic views. Watch the changing clouds and brilliant sunsets. Watch the hummers battle each other for food. Patio out back is secluded. The small lane is perfect for a stroll to catch the sunrise or sunset. To the west are open fields where you might see a few horses grazing in the summer.
  • Our stay at Stella Luna was absolutely perfect. The house is lovely, cozy, comfortable, spacious and wonderfully maintained. Sanjay made us feel so welcome, providing delicious breakfast treats, including some of the best local-made salsa we have ever had and a great bottle of wine in the fridge! The bed was comfortable, the kiva fireplace was such a wonderful source of warmth and ambiance. We had a great time cooking in the fully stocked kitchen (every utensil, device and cookware you could possible need), and the hot tub with gorgeous mountain views was the highlight of our stay at Stella Luna. The house is very conveniently located, just outside of the town of Taos. The property is very private with traditional fences all around, and we enjoyed the seclusion of the house after long days of hiking and sightseeing -- the serene quiet and beautiful mountain views from every window made the stay just perfect. We can't wait to come back and are already planning our next trip to Taos and we wouldn't stay any place else!

    Michelle2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Stella Luna was wonderful. Sanjay is a very considered host. He met us for check in and it was great to chat with him about Taos. He gave us the right pointers, to make the stay very special. Fruit, cookies, bread, cream, coffee etc. everything to start the first morning was there and made it very convenient. The house was clean and cozy, we slept like babies, it was heavenly quiet. We will be back!!!

    Bettina2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stella Luna was absolutely perfect; we stayed here for a fall getaway to Taos with our 2 kiddos. All of our needs were met, the views are amazing, hot tub was excellent after hiking, neighbors were friendly, (our girls loved watching the horses in the neighboring pasture every morning) & Sanjay was great-he interacted just enough to make certain our stay was going well. There was a bottle of wine and snacks waiting for us upon arrival; definitely appreciated after a long day of driving. We've vacationed in Taos several times before, Stella Luna was by far the best place we've stayed!! Highly recommended.

    Mark2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have asked for a better place to stay! Stella Luna was beautiful, comfortable, and had a gorgeous view. Check in was easy and they provided us with snacks and wine to get us started. There were some issues with the function of the hot tub but Sanjay had it resolved within one day. This is the best airbnb experience I've ever had. Thanks for a great trip!

    Melissa2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sanjay stayed until 10:30 pm to wait for us. We were late due to a delayed flight. He greeted us warmly, provided some food and a bottle of wine - as well as a bouquet of flowers. The house is beautiful and we loved staying there. Very peaceful. We would definitely stay here again!

    Rachelle2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Stella Luna was a great place to stay for our snow vacation! It is very conveniently located between the town of Taos and Ski Valley. The home is very well equipped and we appreciated the attention to detail - well-equipped kitchen, plenty of linens, toiletries and even soap for the clothes washer. Thanks Sanjay!

    Carla2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sanjay provided an extremely welcoming ambience when we arrived with a big beautiful bowl of organic fruit, local baked goods, a delightful variety of beverages, and a bouquet of flowers on the dining room table. This is a private, lovely, quiet well-appointed place with great 360 degree views: a perfect retreat.

    Angie2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Stella Luna. The house was clean and comfortable, conveniently located, and included everything that was advertised. Sanjay was available for questions as needed but gave us our privacy which was much appreciated. The horses in the adjacent pasture were fun to watch and a couple of cats walked through the yard on occasion. We really appreciated the house and Sanjay's hospitality. We will definitely stay at Stella Luna again on our next trip to Taos.

  • Our experience of Felicia's place was positive in every way. She went out of her way to make us feel valued and welcome! The casita was perfect for us, very comfortable and accommodating. Felicia provided everything we needed in the kitchen to create our own meals. The beds were comfortable. We liked having the privacy and quiet this place provided. The setting was lovely and retreat-like, with gardens, rushing waterfalls, streams, and deep peace. We are so happy we found Casa Verde, and hope to be able return soon! Thank you, Felicia!

    Adam2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the casita. The gardens were beautiful and relaxing, Felicia couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming, and the location was perfect for bouncing between Arroyo Seco and Taos. We hope to return!

  • A beautiful compound filled with fascinating sculptures and flowing spring water. The Casita was lovely with stone flooring, kiva fireplaces, and a fully functional and outfitted kitchen. The host was as sweet as can be, and the location is a 5 minute drive to Arroyo Seco, 15 into Taos, and right outside the road to the ski Valley. Private, and gorgeous!

    Cory2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely hostess! It took us almost forever to get there. Not only was Felicia patient, kind and willing to put on the light for us several times, she even brought me a smudge stick to "treat" our home. The only thing is that the pictures do not do the place justice. How could the magnificence of the mountain, in direct line with the patio and the main room window ever be captured by a picture? That tells you only a little of the thoughtfulness, from the original design to the kindness of Felicia who, when I didn't feel well at the last, told us to take our time. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Look forward to coming to visit our "home away from home" in Arroyo Seco again!

You’ll love my place because of Its ideal location at the foot of the mountains off Taos Ski Valley Rd, just minutes from Arroyo Seco, Taos Ski Valley and Taos. It is the perfect blend of convenience to amenities, and the country road feel of Taos that most nightly rentals don't offer. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). It has lots of great light all day long, with fabulous mountain views and a short walk to the Rio Hondo River.

Hello! Welcome to the Shakti Spirit Sanctuary. We are a 1.75 acre piece of property on the edge of the entrance to the Ski Valley in Taos, New Mexico region We are looking for good energy people to honor our space, and support our vision of becoming a healing center for future projects. We are a drug and alcohol free zone.
Our space has a lovely selection of Spiritual and eclectic books that you can check out and read while here. Both the upstairs and downstairs living room areas have cozy fireplaces that keep the ambiance nice during the colder winter months. And the best feature of our home is the natural solar heated rooms with slanted windows on the south side of our house, that on a sunny day can heat up and entire bedroom naturally. This unique feature is available for access upstairs or downstairs. And on a clear night, the views of the stars from the upstairs solar room (accessible from the guest bedroom) is a must see!
  • If you are looking for a comfortable place near Taos (and area) to stay, this is perfect! From the moment that Dyanna opened the door, I felt the warmth and good spirit of her and the home. She has thought of everything to make a guest feel good, from tea in the room to books in the sitting room to her creations artfully decorating the home. Her sewing machine near a window inspired me to get mine out and get back to creating. Thank you Dyanna, for a precious time! We hope to see you again.

    Becky2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described in the airbnb ad with a friendly and welcoming host. A clean, quiet place to stay and a location convenient to both Taos and the ski valley.

    David2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Shakti Spirit Zenter rests less than 10 minutes from the base of Taos Ski Valley, a true skier's delight. A sanctuary, the Spirit Zenter's remoteness and ecclectic design produced a weekend of discovery and relaxation. The interior bodes a calming and tranquil vibe, perfect after a full day on the slopes. Extremely warm and a very welcoming host, Dyanna is full of light and intuition. Whether it was in the morning gearing up for the day or in the evening winding down, feasting on homemade cuisine, Dyanna was always welcoming of deep discussions and great banter. Where ever your journey pulls you - be it through Taos, NM - take haven in the Shakti Spirit Zenter, an utterly rare and unique experience.

  • Dyanna was a great hostess and the space is really nice. Nice views from every window on the top floor and garden views from the bottom floor. It was very peaceful and relaxing.

  • Highly recommend! We had a amazing stay at Dyanna's beautiful home. A real retreat and sanctuary in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been- ever enchanting New Mexico. A healing haven for any artist, earth lover, adventurist or spiritualist. Dyanna is a true natural at hosting and made us feel so welcome. The house has amazing architectural features and Southwest accents with beautiful personal touches while offering space to roam for quiet time and privacy. We loved the natural beauty of the area and having close access to see the nearby gorge and amazing Ojo Caliente mineral spas- an absolute highlight on our trip. I had one of the best sleeps here while on our 8 day journey through the great Southwestern states. The seasonal colours here are worth experiencing alone. thanks Dyanna- and Lloyd, we look forward to staying again!

  • Dyanna's Zenter was SO much more than we expected. When we arrived to the home, we were instantly greeted w/ a big smile + hug from Dyanna. She was anticipating our arrival just as much we were! Being her FIRST guests in the space felt pretty special as well. We were introduced to the house and walked every room + received great explanation of everything. She has a communal eating area which felt nice + inviting. There are multiple balconies, so you are always surrounded by the outdoors (mountains at every angle), there are two solar sun rooms that heat up the house, a foyer w/ gorgeous plants, there are beautiful wood beams all over the roof of the rooms, she has two living rooms-the one upstairs is amazing! There is a reading nook filled w/ curio + wind chimes + printed pillows, an awesome fireplace vignette of more amazing personal curio. In fact, the entire house is FILLED w/ earthly essence such as amethyst, quartz, a buddha statue + the like. The house is absolutely inviting and SO much more than the photos can depict. What we sincerely loved about Dyanna + her willingness to open up her home is what she is wanting to source her land out + share it w/ others by creating a healing center for people. She also has multiple fruit trees (apple, cherry, apricot) that she harvests + is creating earth-giving foods that she sells! I decided to purchase some leather fruit, apple jam + apple chutney. She had other things to purchase as well, like earthy sage to burn and purify (it smelled amazing) + peppermint bath salts (soooo pepperminty). Again, the house was incredible. It's so unique and has so much history and detail and design to it. It was almost like walking into a maze, too. It was completely fun to explore! If you are looking for something off-grid in Arroyo Seco, this house in the mountains is it! If you are looking to relax and feel at ease while you stay in NM, this house is it. We will be back again and we will stay much longer! Namaste.

  • Great place. Beautiful house in an excellent location. Gorgeous views in every direction. Quick access to Taos ski valley.

  • Our experience staying with Dyanna was wonderful! She made us feel welcome from the first moment she met us at the door to her lovely home. Throughout our three night stay, Dyanna was kind and friendly, offered ideas of great places to eat and fun things we might like to do, and cheered us on when we came home each night with tales of our day's adventures. Our bed was very comfortable, and the house and the neighborhood were peaceful and quiet. My husband and I took our morning coffee out onto the upstairs porch where we could enjoy the view and watch the deer and magpies. Dyanna's home is filled with comfortable furniture and decorated with things she has collected in her many travels. There is an air of peace and tranquility in the space she has created. Dyanna is an exceptional hostess who genuinely wants her guests to feel at home, and we certainly did. There is nothing I would change about our stay except to make it longer! When you visit, be sure to ask Dyanna about the herbal tea known as "The Cat's Pajamas" - you'll sleep like a baby.

  • Patricia was the most gracious host we could have wanted. Her place was beautiful and quiet, and in the perfect location for us to hike.

    Nancy2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Crucita is in one of the most beautiful parts of Taos. The property had all the views: beautiful landscape, stream, mountains, and much more. Very clean and comfortable interior. If you want your stay to be a part of your travel experience, this is the place. Patricia is very hospitable along with her dog. Planning our next stay within the next couple of months.

    Maria2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely Perfect ️ From the moment we pulled in we felt an overwhelming peace with the serenity of Patty's place. As we were unloading we were met with the sounds of a stream, birds and quite. It only got better️ The apartment was light and airy with beautiful art. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated and two full size bathrooms is a rare find in a one bedroom apartment. The walk in closet and the laundry room with full size washer and dryer was a welcoming bonus. We eat most of our meals in house when we're traveling. Everything we needed to prepare our meals was available. The large gas grill with a side burner was outside our door on the deck. Did I say the deck overlooked the beautiful backyard and stream Since we travel a lot, the comfort of the bed is very important to us. Without a doubt, this bed was one of the best we've slept on . Last but certainly not least Patty was an incredible host. She was there for us if we needed anything but respected our privacy. I highly recommend Patty's place and we plan on returning as often as possible. Joyfully, Diana and Eddie

    diana2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing 2 day stay at Patricia's house. Close to Taos, ski resorts in the quaint town on Arroyo Secco. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Patricia was friendly, kind and helpful, ready to meet any need we had, which was only that we needed to borrow her coffee grinder for our coffee. We will definitely return to stay when we are in the area. Such a lovely location.

    Connie2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Patty's place is absolutely magical! Her gardens and grounds are breath-taking, and her place is spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. The artwork and furnishings are beautiful, and her mattress was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The views from every window are magnificent, and we felt that the place was incredibly spacious for the price. She is a wonderful hostess and we would highly recommend this place for couples, friends, and families who want to get away and enjoy the mountains around Taos!

    Meghan2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the beautiful home, landscaping, mountain view, and seclusion. Patricia is a wonderful hostess and attentive to every need, while still maintaining the private resort feel. She went above and beyond to make our stay special. We look forward to staying with her again and have started recommending the Arroyo Crucita to all of our friends.

    David2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such and awesome place with beautiful accommodations that has everything you would need. The back yard with the running creek is such a special touch to enjoy the peacefulness. This cozy cabin is located in the middle of an apple orchard and only 5 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. Spring and Summer is an artists paradise and during the winter months perfect for those who want to Ski, hike, and relax.
The home was originally my grandfather and grandmothers country home where my grandfather planted all the fruit trees and my grandmother canned the harvest. A very special place with very special memories. The orchard is an active orchard where we grow a variety of apples, pears, plums, grapes and peaches.
The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. The view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains is incredible.
  • Lovely spot! Rose was incredible and welcomed us warmly.

  • Check in was a super easy process. Rose was very courteous and helpful.

    Nicholas2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rose's property is beautiful inside and out. The house is roomy and has everything you will need to be comfortable in your home away from home. We enjoyed sitting on the deck each morning listening to the Acequia and overlooking the orchard as well as enjoying wine in the evening as storms rolled though. Rose was very easy to communicate with and always responded quickly. We will return!

  • Beautiful home, porch, and orchard. Easy drive into Taos or up to the mountain to ski. We'd love to stay again!

    Marjorie2017-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described on-line. Wonderful place for a family get together; plenty of room for parents and kids. Sitting on the porch and just listening to the birds - so calming. If ever, we are back in Taos, we will make sure this is where we stay unless we are house/pet sitting (which is what we do). You can't be here more than a half of day before nothing else but nature and those around you matter.

    Linda2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My son and his friends stayed at Amelia's Orchard during their Christmas skiing trip and they really enjoyed their stay. The original plan was that our whole family would go, but due to a medical emergency, my son and his friends went instead. The boys are very happy about the place and want to stay there again in the future.

  • This was a beautiful home and we were very happy with it. The pictures did not do it justice! We were very impressed with the rooms, decor and the amenities available. David was wonderful in answering any and all questions we had. He made himself available whenever we needed him. We were very grateful for that! We would love to come back again!

    Cynthia2016-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We are just back from a wonderful spring break week in Taos. The house was even more beautiful in person...the pics just didn't do the size justice. The house is located high up in a secluded development. I'll admit we were skeptical as soon as we turned off the paved road...but were more than pleasantly surprised as all the beautifully secluded homes started appearing out of nowhere. We were four families strong with ample space, hot water, seats, views, beds, and kitchens. Everything was extremely clean and well stocked. The 8 kids thoroughly enjoyed having a movie night every night in the theater room, while the parents all enjoyed the time at the large dining table. We were on a ski vacation and the house was an easy 15-20 minute drive to TSV each day. We rented our equipment from Alpine Extreme right in the village at the base of Strawberry Hill where they stored our skis/poles each night, and dry shoes all (URL HIDDEN) we like to say we had a ski in/ski out :) Super convenient to only lug ski boots to/from the even more convenient TSV shuttle. We grocery shopped on day one and day four to minimize the trips into Taos Dave was a fantastic host and immediately responsive with anything that came up. We'd all highly recommend the house and host. Would love to make another trip! Thanks again Dave for all your hospitality.

    Aimee2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the house --it's huge and just like the description. The kids loved the basement and the theater. All of the bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas are big and comfortable. The slow wifi was a problem, particularly since there's no cell service. The location is beautiful, but we wished all of our cars were 4WD to get up the first dirt road which was pretty difficult to traverse with the snow melt.

    Melanie2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place! Very nice and spacious!

    Paul2015-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, two kitchens, 7 bedrooms large patio with hot tub, great for events. Great room and two kitchens. I couldn't have asked for more. Very secluded but only 15 minutes from Taos.

    Jon2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • As others have said, the house is amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. They have everything one could need and plenty of space for a large group.

    Linsey2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • The windy road and mountainside location make the house feel private and remote, but the less than 30 minute drive times to Taos, Arroyo Seco, the Royal Gorge Bridge, Ski Valley, and more, make it perfectly accessible. Our 6-family gathering had plenty of room and privacy in David's house, while the communal spaces of the kitchen/dining room and outdoor patio comfortably accommodated our large group's family meals and star gazing. And the backyard forest, theater room, downstairs kitchen, and bunk room gave the kids lots of independence and play space! We'll be back!

    Kate2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This house is perfect for a large group. Seriously think it could handle 5 families no problem. We had 3 families stay there with 6 kids for a ski trip in February, and had more than enough room. Was great that the main floor had 4 bedrooms with their own full baths. No sharing restrooms was a big plus. The upstairs master bedroom is amazing with its own private deck. The kids loved the big basement with the movie room and all the bunk beds also. We didn't use it, but there is actually another bedroom in the basement, besides the bunk room, with its own full bath. This house is huge, and has absolutely everything you need. And I mean everything. Will definitely be wanting to stay here again if we ever get back to Taos.

The room is 15 minutes from both the Taos Ski Valley and the Taos Plaza. About 3 minutes away by car is the artist town of Arroyo Seco - with shops, a quaint heath food market Sol Foods, a favourite local café complete with coffee and icrecream Taos Cow, farm to table restaurant Aceq, and some great hiking trails nearby. Our home is quiet and looks out onto the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
  • It's a very nice clean room with its own private bathroom, both of which have been renovated and have a lot of nice features. It's secluded but still close to everything in the area. 10 mins from Taos, next to Arroyo Secco and not far from Taos ski valley.

    Dominic2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot and great value. Clean, comfortable room. Friendly and helpful host. Central to town and the ski valley. Amazing views out the front door!

    Robert2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cozy little place, separated from the main house. The owners are very nice and put their heart into making it a nice temporary home.

    Anna2016-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Ian's place. I did not meet Ian, but I did meet his parents Mark and Sienna. Their adobe home is set in a rural setting - very quiet, great night sky. The private entrance accomodated my comings and goings nicely, and the private bath was quite convenient so that I didn't disrupt my hosts too much (I hope). I loved the nice thick comforters on the bed. I slept great. It was very convenient to be able to use the laundry while I was there. Should the opportunity arise, I'd look for thier listing again next time I'm in the area.

    Jeff2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Ian's (and his family's) place this past late December!! I work at Taos Ski Valley during peak busy times and Ian's place (just outside Arroyo Seco) was situated ideally for me to get to work on time. I found Ian, his parents and two other house guests to be nothing short of delightful! They quickly welcomed me and treated me like family, even allowing me to join them for a glass of wine and tasty dinners following my work day! We enjoyed great conversation around the warm wood fire stove. Then it was up to my quiet room for a quality night of sleep. I can't say enough positives about my stay here and my enjoyment of simply delightful people!! Thanks Ian, Sienna, Mark, Wendy and Phil!!!

    Bruce2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The host responded quickly to our request to stay. We had arrived in Taos after being in the car for 24 hours. We were at the "quiet room" 30 minutes after our request.

    Meghan2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • For a single person or couple planning to ski at Taos for a day or more this place is perfect. Ian's dad greeted us, told us about the place, and gave us interesting and helpful info about the surrounding area. The bed is comfortable and there's a private bathroom attached. It's nothing fancy but if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay before/after skiing or exploring the area this is a great option.

    Randy2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and his dad, Mark, make a terrific team! Ian was incredibly prompt and welcoming in his communication with us, and his father was likewise incredibly warm and welcoming upon our arrival. The space and the views are absolutely beautiful - we had originally intended to stay in Taos only one night but decided to stay a second in part because of how comfortable we felt in the space. This was one of our best experiences with airbnb - highly recommended.

  • Quiet and insanely beautiful place! Very comfortable despite being off the grid. Can't wait to come back.

  • Ron and Kirsten were amazing and so helpful! Reach, where this Earthship is located can be difficult to access and they were ready to make sure we got there safe and smoothly in an efficient way. Upon arrival the house was immaculate with a gorgeous flower arrangement and chocolate... not to mention the view! Ron and Kirsten were available if we needed anything and made us feel welcome and at home. This is one of the most unique accommodation experiences I've ever had and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Breathtaking inside and out!

    Martha2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great time during our short stay at the earthship we wish we could of stayed longer. The views are amazing and the place is very relaxing. Ron and Kirsten were great host and responded quickly and Ron was informative on how the house works. You definitely need 4 wheel drive to get up the last part of the driveway. We are hoping to return in the future.

    Anne2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • It's hard to describe how amazing Kirsten and Ron's earthship really is! The home itself is gorgeous and the views are out of this world! We found the place to be beyond spotless when we arrived, and there were nice touches like fresh flowers and cream for our coffee. Kirsten was excellent at communicating with us and gave spot-on recommendations for restaurants and hikes. We had a problem with the lock one day and Ron came by to take care of it immediately, which was a treat because we spent a good while chatting with him as he graciously shared a bit of his vast knowledge about earthships. The drive up the mountain is no joke, so be prepared for an adrenaline rush! It's worth it to get the miles and miles of views! We can't imagine staying anywhere else next time we are in Taos without feeling like it would be a letdown compared to this great find!

    Lynn2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot! The view is unexplainable and well worth the experience. The Burger Stand in Toas was a great spot to eat and have a drink. Kirsten provided great communication about the location and places around. Angela who lead us to the Earthship was also a pleasure. Angela stays in the Earthship up the road if any help was needed getting luggage up or questions. No lie about the hike to get up, again great experience! We will be back!!

    Angela2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best- if not the best- airbnb places I've ever stayed at. Clean, comfortable, and amazing location. I really enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with such a gorgeous view. And the hosts are fantastic.

    Penélope2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten's earthship is a beautiful, comfortable escape from the world. Eating dinner on the deck looking out over the valley and up into the mountains is a profoundly enjoyable experience. The kitchen is very well stocked with both staples and treats, making it especially easy to go hunker down and get your relax on. A highly recommended stay that combines comfort with stunning natural beauty.

Come take advantage of our beautiful winter weather and the amazing skiing at Taos Ski Valley just minutes up the road. Return home to Casa Sofia for a relaxing soak in the hot tub and a roof top sunset and stars show.
Visitors report a magic about Casa Sofia, nestled at the foot of Taos Mountain in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. One of the oldest adobe homes in the charming rural village of Arroyo Seco, Sofia holds the history of the region as her namesake did. On Ski Valley Road, a short walk to the village shops, galleries and fine places to eat, a 15-minute drive to the world famous Taos Ski Valley and a 15-minute drive to the Town of Taos. Country setting with horses across the way and buffaloes grazing nearby on Pueblo land. Casa Sofia has all the contemporary conveniences of home and is decorated with a multi-cultural mix of arts & crafts from the Southwest. Spacious living room with kiva fireplace, master bedroom with bath, 2 additional bedrooms with bath, all with queen beds. The 3rd bedroom is reached through its neighbor bedroom or from a door to the outside, making the walk-through optional. The Taos area offers a host of activities including world-class skiing, hikes to mountain wildflowers and waterfalls, white water rafting, hot air ballooning, gold panning, tennis, mountain biking. Taos Pueblo, a 10-minute drive, is the oldest continually occupied structure in North America offering tours, horseback riding, artisan shops and seasonal ceremonies and festivals open to the public. In town there is a rich choice of museums, restaurants, shops, a cinema – including a weekly art film series – classes and workshops. The Taos Film Festival takes place in March; the World Poetry Bout in June; the Solar Music Festival in July, Fiestas in August, the Fall Arts Festival in September; the Balloon Festival in October; the Winter Holidays are alight with luminarias. Case Sofia, cool in summer and snug in winter, provides a lovely retreat for a slow read, revising a manuscript, painting from the roof or doing nothing at all. Climb the stairs or sipapu ladder to the roof deck and sit back for the gorgeous light show of a northern New Mexico sunset, and later, look back on your day in the hot tub under New Mexico's famous star-filled sky.
A dream led us to Casa Sophia. It was the winter of 1997. We’d retreated from the constant hum of city life to the home of generous friends out on Taos Mesa. Our first night, silent snow began falling as I sat by a cozy kiva fire reading Pumpkin Seed Point, a book by the Southwest author Frank Waters. It’s Frank’s tale of his three-year stay on the Hopi mesa studying the ancient cosmology of the Hopi. I read it straight through. Mind-altered, I fell asleep and dreamed of a library room where people stood in conversation, including a slender man I took to be Frank, and his fourth wife Barbara, a Jungian psychotherapist with big, blonde hair. I could see through Frank to the bookshelves behind him, and I imagined that he was both there and not there. In the morning I found the Waters’ number in the Taos phone book and stammered to the person who answered that I’d been reading Frank’s book in the night and wondered if I might thank him for it. She thanked me for the thought and said that Frank had died in 1995. Might she be Barbara? Yes, she was. “Are you a Jungian psychotherapist by any chance?” I asked her. “Yes I am,” she answered with perfect grace. “Do you happen to have blonde hair?” “Yes I do!” “I’ve been dreaming about you and Frank all night!” I told her, not quite believing any of this. “I think you’d better come up here so we can meet!” she said, believing all of it. “Come up as soon as the snow melts a little.” We were met by Barbara and a committee of little dogs at the door of their historic adobe across the road from Pueblo land. “I think you’re supposed to live here,” Barbara said, “and there’s a house for sale around the corner.” And so we bought the house, naming it for the original owner Sofia, who finished raising her ten children on her own after her husband froze with his sheep one sub-zero winter in Idaho.
  • We loved the hot tub at night and the wood burning fireplace was a real favorite.

  • This house was perfect for our trip. Very comfortable. Everything was exactly as advertised.

    Charlie2016-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful, well maintained, and comfortable. the hot tub and rooftop patio were favorites. the location could not be better. Quick drive to Taos, the ski hill, and hiking trails. The town had grocery, artist shops, and restaurants that we could walk to. We would stay there again.

  • We loved Casa Sofia and plan to go back next year. The owner was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The house itself house all the touches of home and a wonderful full of the Taos valley from the roof. It's also much closer to the ski area than staying in downtown Taos. I can't recommend Casa Sofia highly enough!

    Andy2017-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable home to spend time in! It had pretty much everything we needed to cook all meals, sleep comfortable and just relax! We would definitely stay here again! So nice to be within walking distance of the town, which is so fun to visit!

    Laura2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We all enjoyed our time at Casa Sofia. The highlight for us was sitting in the hot tub and looking at the stars. The location is convenient to stores and cafes, and on the way to Taos Ski Valley. The bedding and towels were luxurious and the kitchen was easy to use. I would recommend this house for anyone else visiting Arroyo Seco.

    Kathy2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • There is a feeling of peace and calm about this place that makes it really special. It is apart from, but not isolated from, Taos- just far enough away to make you feel like you're in the country but close enough to get to town any time you want. We found ourselves wanting to get home early and just enjoy the sunset.

    Jeff2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Casa Sofia nestled on the edge of Arroyo Seco. The home is nicely furnished, beautifully southwestern, and the mountain views from the upper deck are astounding! We will be happy to return!

This is a newly remodeled and appointed 2 bedroom efficiency apartment situated upstairs over a historic house at the bottom of the Ski Valley Road. This property belonged to William Fraser, a mining engineer, whose mines were the forerunner of the Taos Ski Valley in the late 1800's. It's located 8 miles from the Taos Ski Valley and 8 miles from Taos Plaza, and has a private entrance. There are great views of the mountains and pasturelands along the Hondo River.
This efficiency apartment is equipped with a kitchenette which is connected to the main living room area. The kitchenette is not set up for large family meals, but is equipped with an induction cooking set as well as with an electric skillet. Should you need more cooking space you will be welcome to use my kitchen which is a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is well organized and highly functional to make temporary living comfortable. As an Efficiency the bedrooms and bathroom are separated. The property is 1/4 mile from the Ski Valley Road and the entrance to the National Forest. Hiking, biking, and cross-country ski trails are close by and it's a well-known area for artists who come to set up their easels to capture the inspiring surroundings. The historic and picturesque villages of Arroyo Seco, Arroyo Hondo, and Valdez are close by.
  • We had a literal 2 minute delay in finding the place because of my own navigating, but the owner answers the phone immediately and is on the spot with any questions or concerns you may have. Beautiful home with a great view of the mountains, deer may come up to your front porch viewing area; we were there for 3 days and saw them everyday. The pictures don't begin to show all of the amenities offered here. We wanted to be able to cook our own meals for our trip and he has everything you'd need right there. Very friendly without intruding, and the place was perfect! All in all amazing experience for us!

  • Our nine day stay at Charles' homestead was longer than we first had planned. The compact, second-floor, apartment had everything necessary for the longer stay. The apartment was very clean, well-appointed, and quiet. Set-up to accommodate four people, it was perfect for the two of us. We cooked several simple meals using the kitchenette. The full size refrigerator was a plus. Charles provided good WiFi connection, which made up for our spotty cell phone service. With New Mexico summer temperatures, hot during the day and cool at night, we were able to maximize th use of the evaporative cooler. Overall, Charles was an excellent host, communicating with us throughout our stay. We had lots of privacy , and the property was central to the area we wanted to explore...Taos Ski Valley, Arroyo Seco, and Taos Plaza. It was a pleasant and comfortable stay.

    Cecilia2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding!!! Our stay with Charles was perfect. The unit was immaculately clean and exactly as described. Charles is very personable and seemed genuinely concerned that our stay was top notch. I would highly recommend Charles's place to anyone visiting the Taos area.

    Chuck2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charles is a great host! I booked his apartment for my husband and kids. They enjoyed their stay a lot! Thank you Charles!

    Jenny2017-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a wonderful trip to Taos and staying at this home was essential to making it such a memorable experience. The home is located in a very pastoral and secluded ranching area with gorgeous views of the mountains right from your front door balcony! The inside was very clean, organized, and neatly arranged. Charles maintained great communication and made us feel welcome at his home throughout the entire stay. He is a great host and you can definitely tell that he cares deeply about ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of his guests. The most amazing part about it all was we had planned to go biking at Angel Fire on our last day and Charles even offered to drop off my rental mountain bike at the local bike shop just so to make it easier for us on long drive back to Denver! How's that for some good old fashioned New Mexican hospitality. His mantra is "mi casa es su casa" and he certainly embodies that philosophy. We will definitely stay here again in the future!!

    Adam2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charles runs a clean, well equipped airbnb and is an excellent host. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would gladly come back again!!

    Dawn2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Do they have beach houses in the mountains? LOL! If so, Charle's place is one! Casual, relaxing with a wonderful view of the mountains. Close to charming Arroyo Seco with the past ice cream in New Mexico. We will go back - soon I hope.

    Pat2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful vacation experience at Charles truly peaceful setting. Charles welcomed us with all his heart, and answered any questioned we had within 1h or even earlier. He was very helpful. We are a family of four and truly found what we were looking for. Charles place had perfect space for all of us, and the kitchenette had everything we needed. If for some reason we needed more, we were offered to use a full size kitchen downstairs. His charming place is at a perfect location!! Just at the foot of the mountain to the Taos Ski Valley Resort about 8 miles, and about 8 miles into Taos. We loved everything about our stay, and would recommend it with 5 loaded stars. We will be back!

  • Maia's place is just the perfect escape for when you want to make yourself a cup of coffee in the morning and sit out on the back porch watch the sun rise over the mountains. The beds, bathrooms, and living space were very comfortable, including blankets that we could have outside during the chilly nights to watch the stars. What a lovely experience. I look forward to staying again.

  • This is a great home and beautiful property with an amazing view! Maia is a thoughtful and responsive host. She has provided everything (and more) that our family needed for our five day stay. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with great cookware, knives, utensils, spices, etc. The home is very comfortable and well appointed. Cozy beds, nice linens. She has thought of everything. The patio is also a great place to hang out, eat meals, have a fire, do some morning yoga, or just take in the view. This home also has a perfect location for easy access to the mountains, hot springs, Taos, and Arroyo Seco. Maia was quick to respond to all our questions and provided great recommendations for hikes, coffee, and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at Terra Dolce and had a hard time leaving. We highly recommend it!

    Brent2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Maia is the best host - She sent us a guide to her home before arriving, checked up on us while we were there (as well as her house keeper), and the house was absolutely amazing. The pictures and description does not do it justice - incredible view, cutest & clean home, perfect location... We did not want to leave! It was a great first experience with Airbnb.

    Alexa 2014-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Maia's place in Arroyo Seco- its minutes from cute shops/galleries, great ice cream and a natural food market. The house is on a quiet lot with a nice outdoor space and excellent views of the mountains. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were high end which is a nice bonus and it was very affordable.

    Carrie 2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect, couldn't ask for a better experience.

    Brian2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • When looking for an Airbnb, this little house north of Taos caught my/our eye. The exemplary remarks given by others here on Airbnb are correct. Maia is very friendly and helpful. She offered suggestions on things to do, and restaurants to try, with quick responses to questions. This is the perfect vacation home for two couples. The scenery and house are even better than pictured on Airbnb. When we arrived at the foot of the mountains we were greeted by a beautiful end-to-end double rainbow. I awoke early the next morning before sunrise to a serene star/planet/star/moon perfectly aligned rising above the mountain. The next night we laid humbled on the back patio watching the Milky Way and a single shooting star. It feels like some kind of magic here. We are very glad to have stayed here, and would return in a heartbeat.

For those wanting a great location, the beauty of the mesa surrounded by mountains, beautiful home setting with peace and quiet, look no further. The beds are comfy, the views from the living area are spectacular, and the kitchen is gourmet outfitted. A perfect place to stay any time of year.

  • Hi. We just got back from 5 magical nights at Matt's place during our family ski trip to Taos Ski Valley. Matt was an amazing host and is a great guy. He was very proactive in making sure all our needs were taken care of and extremely accessible if we had any questions. The place is perfect for a family of 4 or a couple. Very cozy and quiet, well amenitized with good design and is in great condition/just remodeled. Overall the place has a great feel and is well located in close proximity to TSV (approximately 20 minutes ), Arroyo Secco and the city of Taos. We will definitely be back for future ski trips and eager to visit during the summer. Don't miss out...

    Eric2017-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a unique experience! The house is out in the middle of the Taos mountains and the views were amazing! Matt provided flawless instructions upon arrival and even left from wine/beer for us to enjoy. The suggestions that he provided us as well were very helpful. We can't wait for our next adventure to Taos to stay at Matt's mountain getaway!

    Eleanor2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very classy and clean place. Was perfect to spend a few days hanging out with family. The house is very open and has great windows with an unbeatable deck overlooking mountains that give Taos its truly special vibe. We enjoyed cooking meals in the well equipped kitchen and the relative ease of getting up to TSV for hiking. Matt, the host, was very communicative at just the right times and manner.

  • My wife and I had a great time at this cabin. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a perfect place for a relaxing getaway. There are no neighbors in sight and the views are amazing. It is obvious that the interior was professionally decorated. Matt was very easy to work with. He gave great local recommendations and was available for questions. We will definitely stay here again if we're back in Taos.

  • We chose to stay a second time because we liked this house so much! Matt is extremely attentive and an excellent host and it is clear that he wants his guests to love his home and the beauty and charm of the area as much as he does! There are a lot of personal touches. The house and kitchen is very well appointed with tasteful details. It is very easy to relax there as you feel completely secluded. And you feel like you are really in the wonderful landscape. We would definitely stay again.

This casita (Lobo) is 255 sq ft large, incl. a full en-suite bathroom and private entrance. With 10' high wood ceilings, heated floors, windows to the north and east, with both a king-sized and double-sized bed, its feel is typical of the area and very comfortable.
Our house used to be part of a very well known and popular B&B located in Arroyo Seco. Therefore, all rooms have private access, are large in size, decorated in a typical NM style, offer full en-suite bathrooms, and a high level of comfort. More importantly, our location is fabulous - located just 1 mile north of the Village of Arroyo Seco, nine miles from the Taos Pueblo and Taos Plaza and just nine miles up the Twining Valley to get to Taos Ski Valley, a simply terrific ski resort. If you are looking for a spacious, simple and uncluttered room in which to lay your head(s) and gear for a few nights while ripping it up on the mountain, Lobo is for you. Arroyo Seco is beautiful with views in all directions. The village itself is quirky and interesting and home to fantastic food, galleries, and shops. A vehicle is required in this area as there is no public transport. There is plenty of parking at the house and easy private access to the rooms. There is no grade to get to the house so in almost all conditions, the house can be reached with no need for four wheel drive. We do live on the premises and will be available to answers any questions or address any special needs. Our guests will have private access to their room(s) directly from the parking area. The casita is around the on the north side of the property and there is no need to enter through our main house - you can come and go as you desire at anytime. A key to your room will be available upon arrival. Given that we have traveled extensively to all continents, lived abroad in Europe and Asia, have been both hosts and guests, and are ourselves users of Airbnb, we are happy to provide any information to our guests as needed, though we completely understand if guests simply want to be left alone to enjoy their time in the area. Arroyo Seco is simply the gem of Taos County, and Northern New Mexico. It is located at 7,500 feet above sea level and, from our property, one has 360 degree views south to the Taos Pueblo and Taos town, west out over Hondo Mesa and the Rio Grande Gorge, north and east to the Sangre de Cristo mountains, part of the Southern Rockies. From our house guests can find easy access to all of Taos' outdoor activities including, but certainly not limited to, skiing, horseback riding, hot air-ballooning, fly fishing in the Rio Hondo, biking amid rustic country roads, hiking in the one-million acre Carson National Forest, or rafting the Rio Grande and Rio Chama rivers. For those interested in eating, shopping, and viewing art, there are simply too many incredible culinary delights, interesting and even quirky shops in addition to fantastic galleries and art shops throughout Arroyo Seco and Taos town to mention. Be sure to take some time to explore…it would be very hard to go wrong! A lunch or breakfast once or twice (or even more!) down at the Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco certainly should not be missed. And without a doubt, head to Aceq one night for an awesome supper served in delicious and creative ways and using local ingredients from area producers. Unfortunately, public transportation is very limited in this area so a vehicle is pretty much required (unless you are on a bike or motorcycle!) There is no grade and therefore no need for four wheel drive to access our house or its parking area. The Chile Line does run shuttles up to TSV – it picks up and drops off near to the house at the community center in Arroyo Seco where you can leave your car.
  • Martin was an amazing host! He gave us great directions and even met us out at his road entrance to ensure we found it ok. The room was great and provided so much privacy. Was a great location for skiing at Taos with a short ride to the mountain. Can't wait to stay here again for our next trip to Taos!

  • We stayed in the Lobos room and were warmly welcomed by Martin and his family. There is comfortable shared outdoor space in addition to the very clean and comfortable room. Plenty of pillows, linens, towels, etc. There is a small fridge which was a pleasant surprise. This location is amazing as the small town of Arroyo Seco is quite close and has all your basic needs as well as some tasty restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

  • This was my first bnb experience and it was great! Martin and his family were not home while we were staying there, but he was wonderful with leaving things ready to go and communicating with us to make sure we had a good stay. He was very accommodating and made our trip pleasant and stress-free.

  • What a lovely place! It's just outside of Taos, but quiet easy to get into town. Hiking very close. The room was perfect. The king bed was very comfortable. It's very quiet and clean. The little town had a cool coffee house, great breakfast burrito! We will definitely return.

    Jen2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This has been my first Airbnb experience. Martin is a wonderful host, great at communicating beforehand and providing valuable information about the local area which made my visit more enjoyable. The room is spacious and comfortable with 2 different window exposures, both with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and very private. It's located in a nice area midway between the Ski Valley and Historic Taos, yet away from the hustle and bustle of both.

    Francis2015-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a great time in Arroyo Seco and we will definitely be returning to the cozy casita. The room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet. Martin was very friendly and encouraged us to come to him for whatever we needed. He gave us great recommendations for food, hiking and entertainment. It was an all around great experience. We had a great view of the most amazing sunsets and the stars were incredible at night. I really didn't want to leave. Thanks for helping us have a wonderful stay, Martin! I hope to see you soon!

  • What a perfect location in the mountains where it is peaceful and quiet, but only minutes to restaurants, etc. with the close proximity to Taos, Taos Ski Valley, and Arroyo Seco. Really enjoyed the views and scenery from the upstairs deck and outdoor patio area. Scott has thought of everything, as the condo and kitchen were well appointed . I appreciate there being shampoo, conditioner, great coffee, etc. The wi-fi worked well. They even have a large video library and a large assortment of board games and cards. This is the perfect set up for family and friends to spend some relaxing time together. We took full advantage of nearby hikes at Wild Rivers recreation center and the Williams Lake hike. We will definitely return again to enjoy the slopes and the New Mexico summer sun!

  • With so many places to choose from, we had a difficult time deciding where we wanted to stay in Taos. We settled on this one, partly because of the great description and because I was familiar with the approximate location. Since we wanted to spend time in Taos as well as hike the ski valley area, this turned out to be the perfect location to enjoy both. The views and setting are stunning and we really appreciated the privacy this condo offers. Scott was very easy to communicate with and addressed any concerns we had immediately. I would recommend this listing to both couples and families, as the multi-level layout offers a lot of flexibility.

  • I came to Taos for my daughter's wedding and I needed extra bedrooms for family members who were attending. This was my first experience booking an Airbnb rather than a hotel. It worked out perfectly to have the extra room, full kitchen, fresh coffee in the morning, and everything I needed for cooking. My family and I got to spend time together and we enjoyed the scenic setting. I would definitely recommend trying this facility. You'll enjoy the views off the deck. Scott was very pleasant to work with.

    Kayle2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • It is nice apartment, have all you need and great view. About 15 minutes drive to Taos Ski Valley and city.

  • We had a wonderful stay here in Arroyo Seco during March 2017. We are a family of 5 and drove in from Texas to ski at Taos. The location is terrific - just a 10 minute drive to skiing. The place is great. Beautiful, clean, terrific wifi with fast connection. Lots of space, with all of the comforts of home. Most importantly, Scott is a great host. We contacted him a couple of weeks before the stay to see if we could extend our stay by a day and how much it would cost, and he just threw it in for free. He even left a bottle of wine for us chilling in the fridge!

  • We didn't want to leave! This casita was wonderful, and we would highly recommend staying there. The casita is beautiful, clean, and really quiet. We loved sitting outside and watching the sunset, and we loved being able to walk into Arroyo Seco. A very special and restful place.

    Molly2014-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful, pleasant little spot near the Taos Ski Valley. Very clean and very nicely decorated, gorgeous mountain views out every window in a beautiful rural setting. Donna was very helpful, recommended good dinner spots by text message and let us stay later in the day than we originally planned to, when we decided we were having too much fun to leave quite yet! We mostly ate out, used the microwave and mini fridge in the kitchenette once for leftovers. The shower might feel slightly cramped for larger people, but good hot water. Can recommend walking down the road for breakfast burritos/ice cream at the Taos Cow!

    erin2012-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in this cozy casita. The bed was super comfortable and the heated floors were a great amenity. Communication with Donna was quick and easy. Beautiful views surrounding and the stars at night were stunning. Very close proximity to the Taos ski area and to the downtown area (10-15 min drives). Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Rachel2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the 360 degree views, the quiet, the sunset and sunrise views. The space was clean and welcoming. Donna was available by phone, and her kind and welcoming personality made it a pleasure. We loved the little kitchen, the viga ceilings and super-comfortable bed! Would definitely recommend the space to anyone wanting a quiet, clean and nicely-designed space with great views!

    Kat2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was wonderful very responsive and helpful with detailed directions to the Casita. The location was very clean and comfortable with plenty of light.

    Peter2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's casita is the perfect spot for a Taos getaway. With stunning views of Taos mountain and a location just off the main drag in Arroyo Seco, the house is ideally situated for locations on the mountain (Taos Ski Valley, hiking) and in Taos and El Prado. The house is cozy and well equipped with everything you could need, including abundant towels, a coffee maker, a small fridge with freezer compartment, dish soap, and so on. But the best part about the casita is Donna herself: not only is she a perfect host--anticipating our needs, responding to our questions--but she is also laid-back, relaxed, and so interesting to talk with! She was understanding when we arrived at her place at midnight, and when we needed a later check-out, and she had no problem with our two kitties staying with us. On top of this, she sent us off with a grocery bag full of fresh organic veggies from her garden! Donna and her casita marked one of our very best Air BnB experiences.

The lodge was very clean and tastefully decorated. Also a fantastic view of the sunset from the balcony. If you are looking for a vacation or just passing through town I would recommend Royal to anyone. Would definitely book here again

My family loved every minute of our stay and we will definitely be back in the future...

  • Bradley was great. He met us upon arrival and showed us around. The fire was stoked and we had plenty of firewood for our stay. The hot tub on the upstairs deck is the piece de resistance! Clear Taos skies with an incredible view of the stars. Nice kitchen with gas oven/stove. Very comfortable place and just a few steps from Arroyo Seco.

  • Great mountain home and perfect for our weekend ski trip. Walking distance to downtown and one block away from handy grocery store. Amazing morning sunrise view from the bedroom on the upper loft.

    Megan2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot. Just out of the way enough for quiet relaxation but close enough to get in the mix quick.

    Joey2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location - just a quick walk away (like two minutes). from a quaint little village that features some great artists and restaurants. It is super quaint and we loved using the wood burning stove. It kept the place warm and comfortable. Beds were super comfy. We were hoping for two bedrooms - but there was just two of us so we made the Murphy bed and loft work just fine. The spiral staircase was very cool and took just a time or two to navigate and then we were perfectly used to it. There are so many great windows and tons of natural light. It rained our entire stay so we weren't able to take advantage of the hot tub or deck. Again the proximity to the village of Arroyo Seco is key - we loved being so close and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Cabin de Artistas is just a three-tenths of a mile stroll into heart of the historic village of Arroyo Seco, NM; Seco is filled with amazing shops, galleries and eateries that will capture your imagination. The Village showcases the talents of local artisans and is conveniently located half way between the Taos Ski Valley and Town of Taos, NM. Our guests enjoy the entire house, and our amazing mountain and starry night views from the hot tub or front portal.
A beautiful, tranquil rural experience is awaiting guests who want close access to the Arroyo Seco village and who enjoy relaxing and watching the Appaloosa horses in the pasture across the road. Our folk-art collection and Southwest decor provides our guests with a colorful and whimsical place to unwind. Extras include an amazing 7 person hot tub spa and an outdoor fire pit to takeaway an evening chill or to perfect your s'mores making techniques.
The elevation is approximately 7600' with sunny days and cool nights. The setting for the home is rural, with open mountain views. The neighbor hood is eclectic Southwest, with predominately adobe or territorial architecture. At dawn you might hear a vigilant rooster crow. At nightfall, the occasional chorus of a few distant coyotes. A traffic jam on Hondo Seco Road might be a pickup truck going one way, while a Magpie flies the other way. Forget the big city, you are in rural, Northern New Mexico.
  • We had a wonderful Christmas weekend at Cabin de Artistas. We put a cot out in the living room every evening for our 5th guest. We were all able to sit in the hot tub together after skiing. We also found the kitchen well stocked and easy to cook in together. The location is great for walking to Arroyo Seco and driving to Taos or the Ski Valley. I loved sitting on the warm outdoor porch on sunny days, watching the neighbor's horses playing in the snow.

  • Great location especially if you are going skiing! Loved the hot tub. Was great to sit there at night under the stars and even some shooting stars! The host was very accessible and answered all questions. Loved the decoration and all the unique artwork. Make sure to get a breakfast burrito at Abe's on the way up to ski and a beer on the way back. Also check out Aceq in arroyo seco for an amazing and unpretentious meal. We will be back!

  • I have too many good things to say about Jill, her casita, the town of Arroyo Seco, and New Mexico in general. Jill is extremely kind and will give you all the inside scoop of what to do, eat, and see. It was so nice to talk to her on the phone before we arrived and hear what Arroyo Seco is like. You can tell it has a special place in her heart, and that made my boyfriend and I even more excited to visit. We LOVED Jill and Tom's cabin. It's decorated beautifully with colorful art, has plenty of space that doesn't compromise on coziness, and with the combination of their hot tub and memory foam mattress, you'll feel like a million bucks!! My boyfriend and I were skiing for the first time in three years, and we should have been a LOT sorer than we ended up being!! House aside, I really don't think I can put into words how lovely the town of Arroyo Seco is. The people are incredibly friendly and warm, the food is delicious, it's right in between Taos Ski Valley and Taos downtown, and the view is like nothing you've ever seen. I hope my boyfriend and I can come back soon. This place is magic :)

  • Wonderful home filled with art and decorated in style fitting of the beauty of Taos. The house is located a short walk from the town of Arroyo Seco . It is perfectly located for visiting Taos and the ski valley as well as hiking in the area. Sitting in the hot tub stargazing was an added bonus. Jill was very friendly and helpful with ideas on what to do and where to eat. Great long weekend trip.

    Alison2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot, and very accommodating hosts! Jill provided precise directions to the listing, and gave us a low-down of good places to eat and get coffee, etc. It is a short walk into Arroyo Sec, which was convenient, and fun, and we had nice views of the mountains. Through no fault of the hosts, the hot-tub had a mechanical issue, but when I raised it with Jill over the phone, she had people out to fix it immediately and was quite concerned that we were unable to soak! Have fun.

  • We LOVED our stay at Jill's home in Arroyo Secco. It's beautiful, quiet, comfortable and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Jill was very helpful and provided us with all the information we needed to explore the area. We can't wait for our next visit.

Our loft boasts big treehouse views deep into the sacred Taos Pueblo and onto the historic, artist filled village of Arroyo Seco. No other air bnb in our village offers downtown out your front door and the sacred land right out the back. A light filled guest loft with clean bohemian simplicity, brought to life by the bustle of village locals and ice cream toting explorers. Spend hours on two generous porches. Cafe, gallery, and people watching in front. A star gazing refrain off the back.
Hypnotizing sound of the creek running through the yard, the enchantment of the backroads, waterfalls, hot springs, hidden lakes, deep gorges ... . We think our breathtaking and vast New Mexico environment lends itself to careful editing and quiet moments to take it all in. Our home offers the unobstructed simplicity you need for wandering or relaxing. While we've edited our home to just the basics, it's certainly nothing but. Fluffy towels, robes for lounging all day, stacks of pillows so you can find the perfect one! Memory foam mattress for cozy nesting, records for playing a throwback tune, perfect porch perches and lots of space for gathering your marbles or intentions through a yoga session. Please note: We're offering our spacious 600sf open loft above our studio as a shared space, however it is very much a private apartment with a separate entrance. • Kristina's place was exactly what I was looking for. Spacious, thoughtfully decorated and clean room with breathtaking views of the mountains with a creek! I liked being very close to, but not in Taos as I was looking for a place conducive to a quiet, contemplative weekend.

  • What a wonderful escape! We loved staying at the loft and it felt like such a private getaway from city life. Arroyo Seco is a wonderful destination (definitely eat at ACEQ across the street when you stay), and is just minutes from Taos. Kristina is a great host. Wifi and cell service can be spotty and she did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed.

  • A sweet space with great views and location. A clean, economical and quaint place. We would stay again!

  • I enjoyed staying at Katrina's place and would stay again. My son lives just a mile away and the Taos Cow restaurant is next door with great breakfasts and coffee, so the location was great. And the view across the Pueblo land with mountains in the distance exceeded expectations. Fluffy towels, bathrobe and bed were great. However, I was disappointed in the very unfinished nature of the unit, the lack of a lock on the door, and the lack of certain listed amenities (breakfast, toaster oven) considering the price.

  • Nice large loft space, Right in the heart of Arroyo Seco village, steps from food and shopping, but private and quiet! A true NM experience, minutes drive from the Taos Valley ski area and downtown Taos. Short drive to Red River, Eagle Nest and Angel Fire for a day trip. Plenty of food and shopping in the Taos area. Hosts are helpful and give great advice. Neighbors are friendly and helpful, small town village setting, cozy and inviting. Great views and private decks.

Charming little private casita with its own fenced yard on a dead end road for your romantic escape! Our views are incredible out every window, and the stars from the hot tub at night are spectacular. We also welcome pets with a one time $50 pet fee. We have a 2 person maximum. Please be aware that the loft bedroom has a steep stairway and only 5'10" of clearance on the stairs for tall people. The room opens up into over 7' as it has a slanted roof, and a big window for mountain views!
Cutest Casita in Taos, about 7 miles north of Taos is about half way between the town and Taos Ski Vallley. It is near the village of Arroyo Seco on a private dead end road, with its own fenced gardened yard with hot tub. We are located in the cool mountains at over 7,500 feet. We rarely feel the need for air-conditioning as we can experience a 40 to 50 degree drop in temperatures overnight! Please be aware that we don't have air-conditioning, but opening all the windows at night to let in the cool air and closing windows and shades during the day is enough for almost all of our guests. Please see our feedback and you will see we have hosted many happy customers. We do have a 3 night minimum, and we can offer discounts for long term stays. This little charming private home is beautifully furnished with down comforters and pillows, soft thick towels and bathrobes and lots of pillows. There is a complete kitchen, with dishwasher, blender and all the staples like flour, sugar, spices etc.. for cooking at home to save you some vacation funds. The loft bedroom has a new beautiful custom staircase, a huge picture window of the Taos mountains and a comfy Sealy Queen bed. There is also a grotto glass block shower and radiant floor heat in the slate floors. You have your own private hot tub in your fenced yard with lots of roaming space for your pet and shade trees for reading, or sunning on the deck. You won't believe the stars from the hot tub! You will really feel at home here.... this sun washed little home has all the charm and peace and quiet you are looking for in your favorite vacation spot, Taos New Mexico.
Our neighborhood is beautifully quiet with a gorgeous view from every window, and lots of peaceful walks from our dead-end road. There are occasional noises from neighboring dogs and coyotes that are beyond our control in the rural mountains. We are one of the rare places in Taos where one can't even hear a highway!
  • Such a lovely place! The casita was cozy, the (fenced) yard was tranquil & the setting was spectacular! We had an amazing time.

  • The casita is a great place to stay while exploring the Taos area. It has everything you need plus a hot tub! The casita is very private and we really enjoyed hanging around in the mornings. Communication and check in were easy. Highly recommended!

  • Kitty's Casita is amazing. The space is as described and more: cozy, perfect for two, well-equipped kitchen, remote and secluded in addition to being a short drive from everything from the Taos Ski Valley to downtown. We had no idea the location near Arroyo Seco would be so perfect. Sitting in the hot tub while it snowed looking at the stars was a great way to relax. We couldn't be happier with our stay and can't wait to go back. Kitty has clearly put great energy and careful thought intro crafting a unique place to welcome guests. We are grateful for her allowing us to stay.

  • My wife, our two dogs and I enjoyed our nearly week long stay tremendously! The furnishings were excellent. It was centrally located to many of the various activities we wanted to do in the area. AND it certainly was a wonderful place to r-e-s-t! We highly recommend this sweet place!

  • Kitty was an excellent hostess! The casita was cozy and clean and in a wonderful location for getting to the Ski Valley and near some local restaurants - a great mix of secluded and convenient. It was a much more personal feel than staying in a hotel on the mountain. We loved the views of the sunset, sunrise, stars, and mountains! Thanks for the perfect space for such a wonderful vacation.

  • Kitty's casita was such an amazing place and very accommodating. Super clean and comfortable. We couldn't have chosen a better place for our first trip to New Mexico. We enjoyed Kitty's recommendations especially the local food and driving the Enchanted Circle. Viewing the stars at night while soaking in the hot tub was amazing. The night sky was unbelievable every night. Our next visit back to New Mexico we want to come back to Kitty's casita! Their lab Guido was a sweet pup and was great that we were able to bring our pup with us. Thanks again Kitty!

  • Kitty's Casita is absolutely lovely! It's cozy space has everything you need. A very nice living room with large bright windows, a well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable bed. The views are truly spectacular. The private yard is beautifully landscaped and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway - private hot tub, 2 grills (gas and charcoal) and a fire pit. It was lovely in the spring, but would make a great ski getaway in winter too. The charming Arroyo Seco is just a few minutes away with all the essentials. Kitty is a fantastic host - very helpful and accommodating.

  • Kitty's casita was perfect for getting away from the city for the weekend! Taos Ski Valley was only 20 minutes away, as well as Taos, and the drive was easy! And nothing can beat a soak in the hottub after skiing some pretty tough terrain at Taos. Kitty was a great host, and always made sure we had everything we needed. She even treated us to breakfast after we experienced car trouble! I will definitely try to stay here again if I visit Taos, and I recommend others try to stay here as well.
