Welcome to the Sunshine Studio! The studio has its own driveway and entrance. It is minimally furnished and full of light and warmth with big south facing windows. The views are spectacular, the stargazing is even better, and it's incredibly quiet yet you're easily within 15 min of Taos, TSV and 2 min of the village of Seco. Our friendly gang of pups will greet you when you arrive and we'll be next door if you need us. Oh, and our llama will be your friend if you feed her carrots ;)

Two-story guesthouse nestled in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Perfectly situated 20 minutes from historic Taos and 15 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. Newly renovated 1 bedroom, 2 bath with all the amenities, including hiking trails out your door. Queen bed, and sofa bed in master bedroom and sofa bed upstairs make it ideal for two couples or a couple with children...or better yet a romantic getaway for two with working wood stove and 360º views of the Valdez valley and the surrounding mountains.
New construction, just completed. Radiant heat flooring throughout with multiple zones. Lovingly furnished with antiques and just enough character to not compete with the splendor outside your door. Fall asleep with the milky way over your head and the sound of flowing water in the river below.
Valdez Valley is one of the most picturesque lush valleys in northern New Mexico. A historically Spanish settlement with the rio Hondo flowing through it and an active acequia system. Private setting with easy access to all that northern New Mexico offers. We sit at 7,500 feet.
  • I cannot explain how amazing this place was and waking up to see the beautiful backdrop of the mountains was great. From the check in to the check out everything was smooth and the house had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

  • Cozy home in a gorgeous, quiet location - situated about halfway between Taos and the ski valley making it easy to get to both. The views from the home are spectacular! Host was super responsive and offered great recommendations. We had such a quiet relaxing weekend away.

  • Fabulous place! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

  • We truly enjoyed ourselves at the Valdez Vista for our Best Friend Trip. The location was perfect, views were beautiful, and the house itself could not have been better. We drank coffee on the balcony that overlooked the mountains while wrapped in blankets and the upstairs shower has an unreal view! Per host suggestion, we hiked to Williams Lake, located right at Taos ski area - it was so close by and the exact type of hike we were looking for. Oh - and the floor is heated! The fireplace was so nice at night. We were able to cook our meals and enjoy time together with our favorite dogs stress-free.

  • Wow! What an amazing place - so thoughtfully designed to emphasize views, privacy and immersion in nature. A really stylish, comfortable space with tons of thoughtful and artistic touches, and truly kind and welcoming hosts. I loved sitting outside soaking in the quiet, stunning views, birds and critters! The sunsets and night skies are something to behold. I’ll definitely return.

  • The location is wonderful: in a small village halfway between Carson National Forest and Taos. Ten minutes to Arroyo Secco. Lots of hiking to be had and you’ll feel like a local when you stay here. I hope to go back again soon.

  • Great location and comfortable place. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

  • Staying at Davidson and Susan’s was an amazing and mindful experience. Their guest home is filled with subtle artistic details and thoughtful reminders that share their special connection to the land in Valdez Valley. Truly reflective of the spirit of Taos. Thank you!

  • Great place to stay when skiing! Minutes from Arroyo Seco for breakfast before and dinner afterwards.

  • Great location, amenities, and setup for a ski trip. Would recommend.

    Grant2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t beat the location if you’re going to ski! One thing to note, the driveway and very short road to it are not plowed. We had trouble in our 2wd car just during the heaviest snowfall but after it had been packed down it wasn’t a problem even in our sedan. Just be aware of the weather and conditions.

    Charles2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's space is the perfect home base for all things Taos! Close to the mountain and close to town, but still a relaxing hideaway! We were in town to ski for the weekend and loved being only 15 minutes from the base of Taos Valley. The house is perfectly equipped for everything you'd need in a weekend and was shared with 3 friends and there was more than enough space. Cindy's communication was thorough and helpful and the space was spotless! Thanks for a great weekend!

  • Cute place! Had all the amenities we needed for 3 nights. Great location to get to the ski valley. A bit hard to find, but it’s the unit to the right when you get to the property.

Ideal location!! Newly renovated studio apartment just 15 minutes to Taos Ski Valley and 10 minutes to downtown Taos. Loads of entertainment, restaurants, and shops close by in Arroyo Seco, on the way to Taos, and in downtown Taos. Close to Angel Fire and Red River. We allow pets!
Great romantic getaway for couples! An excellent place for people wanting solitude. Also excellent for people who want a quiet setting with lots of entertainment options close by. Unit includes: Essential amenities, wifi, self check-in, laptop work space, iron, hangers, hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner, and body wash.
We are out in the country and as such, enjoy incredible mountain views. We have 3 empty acres on either side of us so the space outside feels very spacious. The adorable little town of Arroyo Seco is just 5 minutes down the road.
  • My boyfriend and I and our two dogs had a great weekend getaway at Robin’s place. Looking forward to visiting again sometime in the future!

  • Wonderful, out of the way spot near Taos. Great for exploring the area and having a quite room to call home.

    Chelsea2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Robin’s place is beautiful. Very spacious and everything my husband and I needed for a weekend getaway. It was sparkling clean and conveniently located, with access to the Ski Valley, Arroyo Seco, and Taos. Would definitely stay again!

  • We enjoyed our stay very much. It was such a great value, for such a clean and comfortable space. The views were spectacular!

    Melissa2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were more than happy with our stay at Robin’s. We accidentally ran into her husband the first night, and he was kind enough to give us some great local places to eat. The studio was perfect and clean, and we enjoyed being able to cook our own meals as well. Perfect location between ski valley and the city of Taos!

    Taylor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful suit centrally located for skiing at Taos ski valley (20min), food in downtown Arroyo Seco(5min) and downtown Taos(10min). The suit was clean and stylish with plenty of room. The location is quiet with a wonderful view of the mountians out of the kitchen window. It was a wonderful experience to stay in.

    Steve2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • You will love Robin's place when you stay. Quaint, quiet and a perfect space.

    Jonathan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This studio was perfect for my wife and me, for a ski week in Taos. Had everything we needed to stay in and relax and cook our own food. It was also close enough to Taos to run in for a dinner at a local restaurant. Only 20 minutes to the ski valley made for some great skiing. Great views as well! Thanks

All trailers have AC and heating units inside so you remain comfortable no matter what the weather brings. Trailers also offer fine quality linens and sheets, bath amenities courtesy of local company Blue Feather soap, silverware and dishes, a French press and 3 ounces of coffee, and Free Wifi
Meet Sandy. Raised on the open plains of Oklahoma, she is a Midwestern girl through and through. Due to her large stature, growing up she didn’t get to travel much and, like most Midwest beauts, she dreamed of California. Palm Springs to be exact. Laughing it up with the likes of Marilyn, Frank and Dean, sloshing down Mai Tais and working on her copper tan. Like all starlets-to-be, one day she reached her end, proclaimed “I’m a big girl with long lines and its time the world gets to love me!”, left the ranch and hit the road. With a happy heart and big dreams she crossed the country and took in all the sights, sounds and smells it had to offer. But, while crossing New Mexico, she fell in love. Enchanted, she made camp, and here the Spirit of Taos spoke to her. She knew she was entrapped. Life is about choices and sometimes it throws you an unexpected curve you never saw coming. As a gesture of kindness the guys brought a taste of Palm Springs to this fun-loving lady. Southern Cali meets the mountain life – maybe you can have it all! No, she never made it to that west coast party; she simply became the party and now the world comes to her. So come alone, come with friends, but come ready for a good time and let Sandy show you the way! Until you stay the night with her though she insists on being referred to as The Sands. A girl’s gotta have her standards.
  • Very cool area. Right next to a brewery. A short ride to lots of cafes, restaurants. Great budget friendly accommodations.

  • Thanks for a great stay! I loved my time in the sands. It was nice and warm and all the folks I met were great.

    Eric2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great! Amazing views and awesome location for a scenic approach the following morning to ski. Very cool space.

  • This is the absolute cutest place ever! The location is amazing. You have an excellent view of them mountains, as well as every star in the sky. It was nice and cozy inside. You would have never known it was 20 degrees. The shower house....glorious! It's not that its fancy or anything, but they have really gone the extra mile making sure your shower is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

  • Stylish and modern trailer converted into a hostel environment with 4 bunk beds. Unfortunately I was the only one in the hostel the night I was there (I would have enjoyed meeting someone else), but I really enjoyed my stay nonetheless. I loved the kitchen and dinning area, and very much enjoyed my morning coffee on the attached deck while watching the sun rise over the Taos mountains in the distance. The toilet is in the trailer but the shower is in a separate building, which wasn't a problem for me. Check-in, and general communication was a breeze. It is a bit of a drive outside of Taos, but all-round a very nice place to stay.

  • Great location next to Taos Mesa Brewing which has a stellar happy hour and good entertainment nightly. Cute retro trailer with a thoughtful remodel at a great price. Easy access to the Ski Valley so you can ski by day and hit the brewery by night. Classic Taos kind of place.

Hello! Welcome to the Shakti Spirit Sanctuary. We are a 1.75 acre piece of property on the edge of the entrance to the Ski Valley in Taos, New Mexico region We are looking for good energy people to honor our space, and support our vision of becoming a healing center for future projects. We are a drug and alcohol free zone.
Our space has a lovely selection of Spiritual and eclectic books that you can check out and read while here. Both the upstairs and downstairs living room areas have cozy fireplaces that keep the ambiance nice during the colder winter months. And the best feature of our home is the natural solar heated rooms with slanted windows on the south side of our house, that on a sunny day can heat up and entire bedroom naturally. This unique feature is available for access upstairs or downstairs. And on a clear night, the views of the stars from the upstairs solar room (accessible from the guest bedroom) is a must see!
We are right near by the cute little village town of Arroyo Seco. Either by a 5min. drive or a 30min walk or so you can get your super local small town groceries at the Sol Food Market. Or grab a bite to eat at a hip little food joint called Wake and Take. There are also some cute little crafty shops. And if you want to take a Hot Yoga Class, check out the class schedules for Hot Yoga Taos. Also along the HWY 150 nearby there are two super great fancier restaurants that we highly recommend called Medleys or Common Fire. Both carry a wonderful selection of gourmet meals. And for a fun note, the main manager/owner of Common Fire is our neighbor! Keeping it local and fun is what we are all about!
  • Lovely but short stay - cool house

  • Why is there not a 10-star review option?? 100 stars? Words cannot describe the house, the hosts, the experience. All the feels. All the vibes. Dyanna and her dad were the best hosts I've ever stayed with. They are both incredibly kind, gracious, and shared their home as if we were old friends. My friend and I had divine conversations with Dyanna about a whole host of topics. She was way more than I could have ever expected out of a host and has a beautiful soul that radiates into the world. The house is incredible. There are so many unique worldly nik-naks, and yet they all feel specifically placed and organized with love and intention. My soul and stomach were nourished after my stay. I went home with a box overflowing with her amazing chutneys, salsas, and sugar scrubs, and earrings from her store. Our experience was so visceral and a perfect spiritual end to our weekend trip. We both left feeling like- did that really just happen or did we dream it? The Shakti Sanctuary is a magical house in a magical land to which I will return. Thank you, Dyanna and Lloyd for sharing your very sacred space and hearts with the world. PS- Kali is a cool ass dog. I felt like we really connected on a personal level and hope to chat more with her next time.

    Dorothy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy, cozy, and interesting space filled with stories. Beautiful space to watch sunrises, sunsets, and shooting stars. Dyanna was very welcoming and accommodating and respectful of my privacy. Also the water pressure in the shower will not disappoint. One of the most unique Airbnb stays I've had, and perfect location if you're skiing Taos.

    Jon2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing home. Stellar host. Beautiful scenery. Felt like staying in a retreat center. Would highly recommend!

    Savannah2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dyanna's place should be posted here on Airbnb as an experience rather just a regular stay. Her beautiful house is like a museum of art, love and coziness! One of the best airbnb places we've ever been! Dyanna is amazing host, we had very lovely conversations with her! Can't wait to come back to this house and stay there longer! Pro tip if you there in the winter: bring warm socks or warm slippers. That would make your stay extra cozy.

    Yura2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Dyanna's place was absolute magic; wonderfully curated, spotless and welcoming. Dyanna is a warm and joyful host. I enjoyed our conversations. The dog was a doll. If you're looking to be out of the town and close to the Ski Valley this place is perfect. Don't forgot the look at the stars at night. I would definitely stay again! Thanks Dyanna and your father, my stay was the highlight of my trip!

    Eric2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot to stay between the town of Taos and the mountain! It is a bit off the beaten path on a beautiful property. The house has all you need for a cozy stay. Just wish we had more time to relax there! Appreciate the extra touches like electric kettle, tea and honey in the room and pressed coffee in the morning downstairs. Also, having tissue was nice since I currently have a cold. I highly recommend staying with Dyanna!

  • This is a great place to stay. It’s located very close to Taos ski resort and is the great place for a ski vacation. The house is decorated in a really unique and cool way and it feels very cozy. I definitely v recommend staying here.

This cozy cabin is located in the middle of an apple orchard and only 5 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. Spring and Summer is an artists paradise and during the winter months perfect for those who want to Ski, hike, and relax.
The home was originally my grandfather and grandmothers country home where my grandfather planted all the fruit trees and my grandmother canned the harvest. A very special place with very special memories. The orchard is an active orchard where we grow a variety of apples, pears, plums, grapes and peaches.
The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. The view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains is incredible.
  • Nice house in a great location for both the Taos Ski Valley and the town of Taos.

    David2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We found Rose’s place to be in a perfect spot for our planned activities. It’s a short 15 drive to Taos Ski Valley resort, and 15 minutes to the town of Taos too. It has a kitchen that features most everything you would need should you choose to cook meals there. It’s also stocked with many games to play. With wood provided, the wood burning stove was easy to use. We did each night! The WiFi was great, but we were unable to get any cell phone service. It’s a very pretty property and a house large and comfy enough for a family of four.

    Lee2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location between Taos Ski Valley and Taos. We enjoyed the wood burning stove and a short commute to the skiing area. The property is beautiful and quiet. We comfortably slept 4 to 5 adults and did most of our own cooking in a well equipped kitchen. Rose made sure we had everything we needed including plenty of firewood! Would stay here again.

    Karen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend any one to stay here and would do so on my next trip back to Taos. It is a great old prototypical northern NM house in a quiet orchard. I grew up a bit south of Taos and learned to ski there having driven by Valdez a thousand times not knowing how cool the area is. It was a great reprieve from the cold gray Michigan winter just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the ski area making it easy to get there before the lifts open with the bonus of 2 snow days. Come check this place out!

    Damon2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Would stay again!

    Andy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was extremely clean and well kept. It is conveniently located at the mouth of the canyon heading to taos ski valley. The deck allows you to take in the views of the sunsets and orchard. I would definitely recommend this place to mid sized groups who want a calm and quiet place to stay in northern NM.

    Alexander2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful and quiet place to stay. Very clean and close to Taos and all the other fun outdoor adventures. The property is beautiful and Rose was super helpful answering all our questions. Cannot wait to return.

  • Great place big deer sleep in the orchard. Unbeatable distance to tsv. Wood burning stove is great and very warm. Single ply TP consider bringing a roll. The queen bed is very creaky.

We love children and they're welcome at Stella Luna. We'll work with you to provide you the amenities you need.
Quiet country lanes with dramatic views. Watch the changing clouds and brilliant sunsets. Watch the hummers battle each other for food. Patio out back is secluded. The small lane is perfect for a stroll to catch the sunrise or sunset. To the west are open fields where you might see a few horses grazing in the summer.
  • Stella Luna was fantastic. We were given wine, fresh produce and bread upon arriving. It was the first time for me that the space was nicer then the pictures showed. The location is great, right between the town of Taos, and Taos ski valley. Definitely would come back, and highly recommend.

  • This house was amazing. The location is just outside of the town of Taos but still within 10 minutes of restaurants, shopping, etc, and very close to Taos Ski Valley. The house is beautiful! So comfortable and much more spacious than I even thought. We were greeted by Bettina who was lovely and showed us around and pointed out all the features of the house. There was fresh bread and eggs and creamer (and coffee) upon arrival, as well as fresh fruit and flowers. Everything you could need was supplied - well stocked kitchen, tons of towels, etc. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable. Our family (2 adults and 2 teens) had an amazing week. We can't wait to return!

It is a fun place to hang out and there are two lounge chairs and a large dining table with BBQ grill outside. Enjoy our landscaped, walled- in garden and have a glass of wine sitting on the patio with the Japanese water fountain. The house has a master bedroom and a European style bathroom with separate toilet. This peaceful house is on a dead end street surrounded by an ocean of sage with wonderful trails for biking, jogging and walking. You feel like you are immersed in nature yet you are just 10 minutes from town and centrally located to popular destinations like the Taos Ski Valley, quaint Arroyo Seco, the famous Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and the fabulous Ojo Caliente Spa and Mineral Springs. If you don't want to go far we suggest you visit Taos Mesa Brewing just 2 miles down the road and enjoy their hand crafted beers.
The house is located off of Hy64 on the north side of town, 2 miles west of the US64/Hwy 150 intersection. It is situated on a quiet dead-end dirt road for ultimate privacy. The house sits on an open sagebrush mesa with spectacular unobstructed view of the Taos Mountain. There are hundreds of walking, jogging and biking trails at your doorstep.
  • Their house was an amazing place for a get away. They were very thoughtful and checked in after our late arrival and the place was very clean. Thank you!

  • If you want to stay at a place that you end up missing and reminiscing about, this is the place. Straight up magical and comfortable.

  • What you see is what you get, and MORE... but you'll have to experience it to believe it. Views that offer entirely new perspectives, charming touches/hidden gems throughout, and lovely hosts who are always available, yet only as present as you'd like them to be. Thank you for everything Jo and Agnes!! We can't wait to return. *Note to future guests: the fully equipped kitchen includes a small collection of craft coffee machines, but be sure BYOB (Bring Your Own Beans), or you're in for a rude awakening, literally!*

  • This home and the surrounding views are stunning! It was perfectly located, with an easy drive to ski resorts and other attractions. It was especially warm and cozy for the winter, but I imagine this place is amazing year round. Agnes and Joaquin are also incredibly kind and provide tons of helpful local tips. Highly recommend!!

    Leah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Could not imagine a better place to stay for our trip. It was close to the ski resort without being on the mountain, and even closer to the town. Joaquin and Agnes were great hosts; we will be staying here again next time!

    Bryson2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent property, lovely hosts, fantastic all the way around. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Lisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect beauty peace and incredible views of the sunrise and sunset through every window and the glass house is truly remarkable!!! Perfect!! We will be back

    Nadia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Star-filled night skies, a warm and sunny patio on a cold winter day, beautiful artwork, and a lovely bubble bath after a day of skiing. This place is everything it seems to be and more! Also highly recommend reading their Guide Book for first-timers to Taos - the restaurants and art galleries were all top notch. Will come back!!

  • Love this place - wish I could have stayed longer! Fabulous location, AMAZING VIEW, amazing amenities, I could go on and on! Kitchen is stocked with all possible things you might need, super clean, quiet and peaceful, loved the hot tub and front porch - THANK YOU! Can't say enough wonderful things about the studio apartment in La Maison.

  • We loved staying at La Maison Studio! Arroyo Seco is gorgeous and we’ll definitely be back again soon.

    Roger2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if you’re skiing Taos! About 15 min from the slopes! Don’t let the sofa sleeper deter you. It was quite comfy and roomy enough for two!

    David2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy little place. Tucked into the start of the mountains but still very close to Taos. Fantastic place to go clear your head, nice touch with some of the new Mexican traditions they mention in the guest book.

    Matthew2019-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! The location, the hosts, the caretaker, etc...everything was AMAZING and we will definitely be visiting again.

    Veronica2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place in Arroyo Deco. Close enough to Taos for exploring the plaza and shops with only a few minutes drive, but far away enough to be out of the bustle of the village and also just about 8 miles to Taos Ski Valley. The studio is the perfect size for a couple, with large bathroom and very functional kitchen. Custom tile adds to the charm. Hot tub was clean and the perfect way to relax after hiking to William's Lake. We'll be back!

  • Such a beautiful space! A studio, but with plenty of room, it feels very spacious. Bonus, it's filled with local artwork. We'd definitely go back, especially given its proximity to Taos skiing :-)

    Andrea2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect, from the serene wilderness views to David's beautiful art covering the walls to Ida's thoughtful touches throughout the casita. It's even prettier than the pictures. Great location halfway between the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley, though we were grateful for our four wheel drive after some heavy snow. The tiny town of Arroyo Seco (3 miles down the road) has surprisingly good restaurants - Sol Cafe for breakfast, Sabroso for dinner, and Abe's for a drink with the locals. I can't wait to come back.

    Sean2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Super sweet casita with the friendliest of hosts. David & Ida have done an incredible job of making their guests feel welcome. The casita is filled with beautiful art by David and the layout is absolutely perfect. We had plenty of space for our ski gear and all the amenities needed to feel as though we were at home. The little loft is perfect for yoga and meditation and the radiant heated floors make the casita warm and cozy in the middle of winter. We cooked breakfast each morning and had everything we needed. Ida even had a couple of handmade cookies for us + snacks for the mountain - such a sweet gesture! We highly recommend this place and will most definitely be back!

    Shannon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • David and Ida are the nicest and their extra touches, fresh flowers and delicious snacks, made the bright and clean casita feel like home, not to mention it is on a hill onlooking a literal winter wonderland.

    Cheyenne2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • David & Ida’s Place is FANTASTIC!!! I have stayed at numerous Airbnbs over the years while working part time at TSV and I believe David and Ida’s place tops them all!!! It is delightfully appointed, warm and fully equipped along with tasty homemade touches. The location is special with great views no matter what direction you look. I can’t say enough about this place. I believe ALL guests will find it nothing short of splendid!!

    Bruce2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an ideal spot -- views for miles, unbelievable sunsets, private, quiet, the perfect place to stay in reflect or use as a base to explore the area. David and Ida were warm and kind, the ideal hosts. Generous, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The space itself is beautifully designed with outstanding art on the walls. The perfect energy to the house itself and the space around it.

    Nina2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • David and Ida were wonderful hosts. Staying with them made our visit to Taos memorable. Sitting at the edge of the arroyo watching a sunrise or the beautiful New Mexico sunsets was like bookends for a day well-spent. The artist casita is right in the center of all the activity around Taos. It was a good substitute for home. We visited the excellent farmer's markets in Santa Fe and Taos and used the kitchenette to cook some delicious soups and sandwiches. We had no issues or concerns with the accommodations.

    Allan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • David & Ida’s casita is private, quiet, peaceful, stylish, full of fantastic art & nestled in nature. It’s a perfect spot to decompress & truly relax. It’s perfectly remote, yet close to world class hiking, skiing, cute shops & organic restaurants. I loved my time here.

Private, cozy, and wonderfully quiet, our Kiva is an inspiring place for meditation and contemplative retreat. The natural Adobe walls and floor, high ceiling, and big windows with plenty of light contribute to the grounding, yet open feel of the space. Close proximity to 2 undeveloped hot-springs, the Rio Grande River National Monument, and lots of great hiking. Just 5 miles from New Mexico's premier Brewery and Live Music venue. 15 Miles to Downtown Taos; 22 Miles to Taos Ski Valley
The Kiva is a single room structure, nestled into its own private hillside. A small round room with a big sunny view. Local clay for the Adobe floors and walls, raw timber from the Taos mountains for the high, airy ceiling. A stay in this hand-made home is truly a unique experience. The Kiva is a short hike to scenic natural hot springs on the edge of the Rio Grande river. The springs are free and open to the public, as such, you may encounter other folks there. Conduct your self with respect for any others and regard for your safety. Great for individuals or couples seeking a grounding space to get away from it all. The Kiva has an electric heater for cold weather. The fireplace is not for guest use, and fires in the fireplace (or outdoors) are not permitted. We are in drought conditions and do take wildfire seriously. This is a RUSTIC and MODEST space with no kitchen, and only minimalist bathroom amenities, please read onward for a full description. We have no running tap water at the Kiva, however several gallons of clean drinking/wash up water are provided in the room. This space is not set up for food prep or cooking (no running water!) However there are some basics like silverware, plates, bowls, and mugs that you can use for your convenience with prepared foods and takeout items. An electric water kettle for instant soup or a cup of tea is provided. The toilet is a clean and regularly maintained composting toilet, located about 100 feet from the dwelling, in a separate private structure. There are no shower or bath available on site. The undeveloped hot springs and also the Rio Grande river are about a mile hike away, and are great if you are craving a water experience. We provide bed linens, but please bring your own towel if you need one for the hot springs. We have hosted many satisfied guests with these admittedly modest amenities... If you need running water, flush toilets, and a shower in order to be happy, please look to stay elsewhere.
A private and quiet neighborhood. Neighbors occasional walk or run, and you can too, but quiet for the most part. Close proximity to 2 different Natural Hot Springs (one walking distance). Close access to Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument.
  • Gorgeous space! We loved touring Taos Pueblo and then staying in this amazing adobe structure surrounded by nature! Getting to the springs was an adventure, and we recommend not going at night!

    Jenny2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay the the Kiva house. Ray was a great host and provided some good recommendations for the hot springs nearby. Super cozy and quiet location. It felt like we were glamping a bit, all the bare necessities were provided. Bring a cooler with some food and drinks, a towel for the hot springs, and prepare to check out and recharge in a beautiful landscape for a scenic escape. Thanks Ray!

    Brett2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and view. Really out there in nature and nearly off-grid. Don't expect luxuries. And you'd better love getting woken up at 7:30 AM with the sun. Unique style living arrangements. I love how this house was hand built in the local tradition. Very cool experience. The wife was missing a lot of her city comforts. Very much Glamping. Would stay again. Good value option compared to the alternatives.

    Ted2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and cozy accommodations. The kiva is just as advertised. We were there on a chilly night and the room stayed warm and cozy. The nearby hot springs are well worth the hike.

    Christian2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful and quiet. Fantastic experience.

    Dorthe2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our night in the Kiva very much. Perfectly serene night with millions of stars. Very magical place. We hiked to the hot springs in the morning and it was a fabulous way to start the day! Can’t beat the scenery! Ray was very quick with communication when I didn’t pay full attention to the directions he sent. We arrive at sundown and it is very dark out there. However, if we had followed his directions to the T we wouldn’t have had a problem. Many thanks!

    Brittany2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The kiva is a wonderful experience to get off the grid but still be very comfortable. Ray's directions to get there were easy to follow and the place was clean and beautiful, but of course it's the surrounding area that is the most special. When there, don't miss out on the hot springs nearby and the spectacular night sky!

    Mina2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a way to get close to the beauty of N. New Mexico, this is the place! The accommodations are simple (nothing to cook on and no running water) but super quiet and beautiful. The rammed earth floors were warm and soft and the space just feels good. We had the great good fortune to have the hot springs all to ourselves, and the hike down into the Rio Grande gorge was breathtaking! Ray was available by phone and super-accommodating. We’ll be back!

Cliff House is an aptly named fully renovated, vintage, off-grid Earthship in Taos, NM. The home is built by original Earthship inventor Mike Reynold's son, into the mountain side above charming Arroyo Seco NM. It sits at 8,200 feet offering breath taking views of the valley below. This is a nature lovers paradise, with local access to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, rock climbing or just enjoying the spectacular environment and wildlife from the front patio. Access is by 4x4/AWD only!
There are two sleeping areas, an upper room with a queen size bed to sleep 2, and a lower room with a twin size trundle bed to sleep 2. Both rooms are partially open to the south windows for heat and light, so not completely private from one another. There is a west window nook with pillows and a chair great to watch sunsets from, a bathroom with a shower, and a main room with full kitchen and an island to sit at plus the main living area with a Woodstove and satellite tv. There is a front porch with a swing as well as a south side flagstone patio with a table and 4 chairs and a hammock in nice weather.
Cliff House is part of Mike Reynold’s original Reach Earthship intentional off-grid community, and is one of 13 properties. This is truly a unique neighborhood! And a treat to stay as there is no future construction allowed!
  • One of the most memorable homes I've ever stayed in! Not to be missed; an amazing and unforgettable experience. You won't find a better wake-up view in all of New Mexico! I booked it simply as a place to rest in between days atTaos Ski Valley, but as soon as I arrived at the house I could tell it would be the highlight of my weekend. I had a few issues finding the house, but Rachel was quick to answer my call and provide helpful instructions.

    Nicholas2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place you should come if you need to restore yourself from the inside out. My 14-y-o and I packed board games, reading materials, food, a sense of adventure and took five days during winter break to heal from a challenging semester within this earth ship. When we left, we felt rejuvenated. Rachel, thank you for being a gracious and responsive host.

    Ellamaria2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as fantastic as the reviews let you know! Now I want to build an earthship back home! A very, very special treat. Note indeed that without a 4w drive there is a little climb to get to the house, but it’s definitely worth it.

    Marc2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Thank you for everything!

    Paul & Jessica2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Cliff House was such an amazing weekend getaway! The house is gorgeous, well-designed, comfortable, and very authentic. Tremendous views of the valley are inescapable from nearly everywhere in or around the house. We made a point of being present for sunset each night because the sights are simply stunning from up high! Compared to the other Earthship campus, the Reach Community (where the cliff house is located) feels much more secluded and protected by tree cover—while still being a short drive to town! Additionally, Rachel was incredibly accommodating as a host. She was quick, communicative, and understanding. She even gave us a gray recommendation for a hike nearby. Truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend.

    Rob2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The drive up is not for beginners; we did it at night. Place is so beautiful that we never got into town. Spent some time over at the Taos Ski Area enjoying the fall colors and hiking and finally, as we were leaving to go to our next destination, we spent some time in Taos, the town. The Earth Ship is really a unique experience. Views are amazing. Rachel was very responsive.

Casa Crucita is located in the lush grassy area that is known as the El Salto / Arroyo Seco area. The rental is a lockoff with a private entrance. Beautiful property at the end of the road (no dust from cars passing). The road is only .2 mile off the pavement (Highway 150). The Acequia meanders through the back yard right outside your door. Sit on the little bridge and dangle your feet in the cool water. Great location ....Skiing and hiking near by. Three minutes from Arroyo Seco which has great restaurants and shops. Patty is the perfect host - she is genuinely interested in making sure her guests have the perfect stay. We hope our travels take us back to Casa Crucita soon!

    Stephen2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, stylish space which almost seemed brand new. Comfortable bed and couch. The kitchenette is a small area and met all my needs for a quick breakfast and warming up prepared meals at the end of the day. Very relaxing, quiet and private. Can’t imagine a better location for ski trips! Would stay again.

    Leslie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Patty was the perfect host. Here home was very comfortable, well equipped and perfect for our party of four for our short snowboarding trip. The town of Arroyo Seco was about 5 minutes away, Taos was about 20 minutes away and Taos Ski Valley about 10 minutes away. We will definitely call upon her again then next time we're in Taos.

I love this quiet, safe, traffic free neighborhood. Everything I need is within walking or biking distance.
  • Michele's place is as described, a cute little house with a nice yard. We unfortunately cut our vacation short, but would absolutely stay here again when we redo our trip! Sitting out in the courtyard with our dog was relaxing, and the interior of the house was super cute. Michele left helpful instructions for getting around town, as well as some of her favorite places in Taos. Highly recommend!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Michele's casita. We had a nice visit with Michele after a day of skiing. The timing and location worked perfect for our trip. I did have to learn how to make french press coffee though! Maybe we can stay again next time we're in Taos.

A girl’s gotta have her standards
  • I'll definitely be back. Compared to a lot of other home airbnbs this is the cleanest and most enjoyable so far. Great location and there were even fireworks!

  • Clean, comfortable, affordable—a great stay.

  • My first time staying in a shared room and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The bunks are comfy and the trailers come with everything you need and more.

  • Awesome place! Everything is spotless and the community is incredible.

  • What a wonderful little gem of a place! If you have a car and are looking to explore Taos (and not break the budget with lodging), then look no further! I LOVED my time at the Sands Hostel. The bed was very comfortable and the inside of the airstream was AWESOME, not to mention very clean! I enjoyed interacting with the other guests who were all incredibly respectful of one another. Can't wait to come back!

  • Excellent stay in an amazing location. Price was perfect for what was offered, and the place was just what I was looking for in my short trip to visit Taos and the surrounding areas. Would definitely plan my stay at this venue whenever visiting Taos.

  • We enjoyed staying there Thank you for a lovely time. Breakfast was deeply appreciated and unexpected. The beds are so comfortable! Enjoyed the artwork. Such a beautiful view. Not pretentious, which is also wonderful! As an native New Mexican, i am proud of establishments such as yours.

  • Clean and warm. Location is great, small walk from town and a short drive from the ski Valley and Taos town.

    Brandon2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • If I could give more than 5-stars for Value & Hospitality, I would! Fab is such a wonderful host and the value of this place compared to others in Taos is outstanding. It’s located right in between Taos and the Ski Valley making it really convenient for outdoor activities plus eating/shopping. Rooms are more than spacious and although the 6 rooms share 3 bathrooms we never experienced an issue with having to wait. The complimentary breakfast and coffee every morning was an unexpected treat! This is a true Southwestern B&B experience and we will definitely be back!

  • Relaxing, quiet location, close to Taos and Taos Ski Valley. My wife enjoyed exploring Arroyo Seco while I skied. We met interesting guests (I ended up skiing with one of them) at the Airbnb, and Christine provided good suggestions for nearby restaurants.

    Roy2019-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Christine’s place is in a great location to the ski Mtn. She had all the necessary amenities and was great host.

    Kyle2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • All in all, this was a most enjoyable stay. I particularly appreciated Alice’s easy-going flexibility in accommodating my schedule, and her thoughtfulness in making coffee. This room is most appropriate for people who enjoy being around dogs and cats. That just made me feel more at home.

This spacious off-grid house borders the Rio Grande National Monument with unparalleled views of Taos mountain coupled with the most beautiful night skies. There is an on-site lockbox for 24 hour check-in at your convenience. Whether you're looking for a home base for a vacation or a place to retreat, this space is perfect for solo travelers, couples, families and large groups. Welcome!
NOTE: This house is a jewel but not for everyone. Please do not choose to stay here if you are simply looking for an inexpensive place to stay. Please read through the description and understand what staying in a rural, off-grid house is like. Please message with any questions or concerns before you book/request booking. This ensures a positive experience for us both. Step out the door from this 800 square foot off-grid dodecagon and enter the Rio Grande National Monument. Or relax in the wood-fired sauna. This is a perfect base for biking, kayaking, skiing or hiking. Great elk and deer hunting is just up the road. There is little out here to distract from the beauty of nature and the quiet and darkness of the high desert and its bright skies. No wifi, no television. A quick 5 minute drive to Black Rock Hot Springs and the Rio Grande River. A 30 minute drive to Taos. 50 minutes to the Taos Ski Valley. Our home has an on-site lock box so you may check in 24 hours at your convenience. This spacious house features a full kitchen (everything except an oven, though there is a stove top) and a bathroom with shower. Filled with natural light, incredible views and very private. There are 2 bedrooms. One has a brand new (7/17) king sized, memory foam top bed while the other has a double bed. The living room has a futon couch that can pull out to an additional double bed. All linens are 100% cotton. The only heat in the home is from a wood stove. It does an excellent job of heating the house, but you will need to be comfortable starting/maintaining a fire (instructions provided). There is no smoking inside the house. Guests smoking outside must be cautious as this is an arid environment. This house is off-grid so you need to be mindful of electric and water use. Please do not use any electronics (except for phone chargers and similar) other than what is provided. Absolutely no hair/blow dryers, toasters or coffee makers (we have an enormous French press for all your coffee needs). Also, there is an oven but please do not use it (a 4 burner stove top is available to use, however). As far as water, please be mindful. Don't let the tap run and don't take unnecessarily long showers. If the toilet runs, please call us as it can drain our water supply rather quickly. Guest access You have access to the entire house, a wood-fired sauna, and the Rio Grande National Monument which borders the property. We have plenty of wood stacked for you for both the wood stove in the house and the sauna. Other things to note We are 5.5 miles down a maintained, graded and plowed county dirt road. Sometimes they take a little while to plow. 4 wheel drive is necessary when there is snow or with very heavy rains (mud).
  • I stayed at Querencia to get out of town for some solo time in the woods, and it was just the perfect spot. The views out the windows (including the sauna!) don't get any more spectacular. Communication with Peggie was speedy and easy. Black Rock hot springs are 3 miles away. Would highly recommend! Though make sure your car can handle 5 miles of deep mud ruts if it's just rained, and that you are comfortable lighting and maintaining a woodstove fire, as that is the only source of heat.

    Rosalie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVED the beautiful location and the solitude. It was very comfortable despite being off-grid. The host was responsive and communicated promptly. I'd return in a heartbeat.

    Jennifer2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Peggie’s place. The photos don’t do this place justice! The views are impeccable every which way you look. The kitchen had everything we needed, there was plenty of fire wood, and the cabin was charming and tidy. The drive to Taos Ski Valley is 40 minutes, and you can’t beat the scenery on the drive up. In winter months (when there is snowfall) definitely consider a 4WD vehicle, as the road is dirt and can get very muddy when everything is melted. We will absolutely be back, thanks Peggie!

    Dorian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a grade A spot to get away! I had a great time unplugging at this wonderful cabin.

    Alexander2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay to get away from the town and traffic. Plenty of wood and fire starter available to keep us warm and the sauna was a huge plus - a fantastic way to end long days of snowshoeing and sightseeing. Would definitely recommend taking the road through the canyon if you have 4WD and aren’t afraid of some tight switchbacks; the views are absolutely worth it. You can’t be the location and value for your money.

    Michael2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • love this place and will return! it is isolated in a beautiful spot outside of Taos. it was great to get away and experience nature, the open skies, and beautiful views. the place itself has all the amenities you need. the sauna was nice and the access to hiking and hot springs was great. Peggie was very helpful.

    Trey2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Peggie was responsive and very helpful with anything we needed! The location was amazing! She had a map and list of activities. Plenty of instructions for the property. The best coffee I’ve ever had! I changed to a French press coffee maker after our stay. The fireplace heats the whole house no problem. The only thing is make sure you don’t get your fire too hot because we were sweating the first night or two while we figured out the best temperature for the fire. Would recommend and will visit again! Definitely visit one of the hot springs.

    Dawn2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Peggie's spot is a snug and warm place to hang in the quiet desert. Beautiful and remote but still close enough to everything we wanted to see.

  • This guest house was exactly what we needed for our trip to Taos. It is located between Taos and Taos Ski Valley, making it easy to go either direction. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We especially loved the hot tub and the swimming pool. There was no air conditioning, so we had brought a fan from home, and there was a fan in the garage that we used, also. We would definitely like to stay here again if we make it up to New Mexico again!

The Taos Cool Bus (Tilly) used to deliver ice cream treats all over Taos. She was a popular fixture among kids of all ages. Sadly, Tilly had to retire in 2013. It is with great joy then, that Tilly has "reincarnated" as a unique Airbnb rental. 100% off-grid, she is powered by solar and wood. She even has a portable flush toilet! Tilly's resting place boasts amazing sunset views and tons of tranquility for guests who want to have an authentic, off-grid, Taos hippy experience.
Tilly is an authentic, converted hippy bus. There is no electricity but she comes with a solar phone/laptop charger, solar-powered lights, an outdoor grill and charcoals for cooking. Inside there's a woodstove (with a hot water reservoir) for warmth and cooking. The "bathroom" is outside and consists of a private, enclosed, portable toilet and a solar shower (if you aren't familiar with a solar shower, please look it up so that you understand their limits). Your experience in the bus is more like camping than staying in a motel and we've priced it accordingly--less expensive than many campgrounds but with more privacy and amenities. Plus, there's no set-up to do, it's in a beautiful setting, is very cozy, and the sunsets and views are amazing!
Tilly is located within walking distance of a post office, the historic Ranchos Church and the historic Ranchos Plaza. Also within walking distance (1/2 mile) are the Ranchos Grill, Oh My Garden restaurant, Old Martina's Hall bar and restaurant and a few galleries.
  • This place is sooo cute. I will definitely be coming back. Perfect little spot to enjoy nature. The host Kelly is very attentive to your needs. Checking in and out was so simple.

  • The value for this unique experience can't be beat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tilly, as it had been unlike any other place I have stayed before. Tilly was exactly as I had expected and in a nice, quiet location. Thank you to Kelly for allowing me to add Tilly to my first New Mexico experience!

  • This place is amazing! If you are looking for the hippie experience, Tilly the bus is the way to do it. Great location just t the south of Taos and the drive into town is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains in the backdrop. Kelly was great to provide us with everything that we could possibly need. Even setting us up with firewood in the wood stove in the bus. Thanks again!

    Angel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is a cozy spot for a night in Taos. A quick ride from historic downtown it’s the perfect place to sleep in the outdoors without camping. The fire pit was a great bonus! I even got dog and cat snuggles which is my fav! Kelly was very responsive. The bus has cots which were great. I used my bed roll on it and slept soundly. It’s a gorgeous spot to wake up and start your day!

The home was clean and spacious, the hostess is kind and hospitable. I will definitely consider staying here if I plan another solo ski trip!

  • Carol's place is wonderful. She provides a very warm, inviting environment for her guests. Her extensive knowledge of Taos and the area is extremely helpful. The location is very convenient for Wild River Rec Area, Taos Pueblo, The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and Cid's, a great health food store. My room was quiet and comfortable, which provided a good night sleep.

  • Quite and restful area.

    Lydia2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's home is large and comfortable, set in beautiful countryside a few miles north of Taos. Carol is a warm and gracious host, and she went out of her way to make me welcome and comfortable. Sharing the bathroom with one other guest was not a problem, nor was sharing the home's entryway -- the room's only access to fresh air and light -- a semi-private space with a spectacular view of Taos Mountain through the screen door. I would definitely stay again when coming to Taos.

    Susan2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a warm and welcoming host. The house is lovely and was perfect for all of my needs. The bed was comfy, the house well appointed, the WiFi strong, the yard was a great place to greet the morning with a strong cup of coffee...and Carol is such a loving and kind person. This lovely adobe home was once a community store. Now, fully modernized, it has a large open floor plan, a full kitchen, two cozy gas fireplaces, and gated parking. It is close to many outdoor activities: BLM mountain biking, Black Rock hot springs, river access at the John Dunn Bridge, Taos Ski Valley, and numerous hikes. We are only 11 miles to Taos. Star gaze on the back porch, as the night skies get very dark here. Return home to this comfortable, relaxing setting.
The entrance to the house is through a mudroom where skis, bikes, and other gear can be stored. The full kitchen, complete with dishes and cookware, gives you the flexibility of cooking on site. The open floor plan encompasses the kitchen, dining, and living room spaces. There is ample space to spread out and use the house however you want. The bathroom has a beautifully tiled shower, but no tub. The bedroom has a comfortable Queen-sized bed and a cozy fireplace and sitting area. There is a back porch off the bedroom and Adirondack chairs by the front door. Children are welcome but the house is not specifically tailored for children and has not been safety-proofed for small children. Well-mannered dogs are also welcome, but must be crated if left alone in the house. Outdoor activities in close proximity to the house: •2 miles to mountain biking on BLM trails •3 miles to Rio Grande and Black Rock Hot Springs at the John Dunn Bridge •11 miles to Taos •15 miles to Taos Ski Valley •Hiking trails in every direction
The neighborhood is a nice place to walk. The Rio Hondo flows through the Arroyo Hondo valley and is along the road, adjacent to the house. The valley is full of springs and cattails. Nearby properties have horses, cows, sheep, and donkeys. You will see evidence of the wildlife that shares the valley- fish in the Rio Hondo, magpies, ravens, hawks, red-wing blackbirds, raccoons, and skunks. The post office is around the corner. The Midtown Lounge and convenience store is 0.25 miles away on the main road, offering a restaurant/bar, well-stocked incidentals, package liquor, and fresh breakfast burritos.
  • Our stay here was perfect! Close to everything, affordable, clean and cute. It was amazing being able to have my dog there as well.

  • I had a lovely stay at Linnah’s. The bed was very comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet. The two gas fireplaces make for a lovely ambiance.

    Scott2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Linnah was a wonderful host. It was clear that she has a lot of experience hosting because so many of the questions we had were already answered in her guest manual. Linnah's home was sparkling clean, in a great location, and was perfect for a mini ski weekend at Taos.

    Julia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Linnah's place is a cozy home, really lovely to spend relaxing time in it to experience the Taos region. We made the most of the location...short drives to skiing, town, and the El Rio Grande del Norte National Monument...perfect spot to take in these awesome areas!

  • This was a very relaxing place to unwind for my night (as I was only passing through) ... So quiet and relaxing ... I lingered around much longer than planned. I loved the fire places and the open space. The kitchen had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable. The star viewing was amazing. I'm very grateful to have found this place on my (somewhat last minute) search.

    Rana2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a gem. It has so many comfortable and distinguished touches along with anything that a guest could need. Linnah thoughtfully warmed the bedroom by lighting the fireplace before I arrived and the kitchen is amazingly well appointed. Linnah was a very welcoming host. Sadly my stay was too short and I hope to return!

  • Fantastic location for trips into town and even easier access to the mountain. Far more space inside than the pictures indicated. Excellent experience, responsive host.

    Jeremiah2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Good open lay out with a lot of natural light. Awesome hot tub. Has everything you need to cook in the kitchen. Paul was extremely hospitable and helpful!

  • A luxurious, uncluttered, and nicely-priced house situated on a quiet and still road with ample room between neighboring houses. Radiant heat made a winter's stay feel like a day at the beach, even with the system set at 60 degrees.

  • Perfect spot for for our ski weekend. Such a spacious and beautiful space for 3 couples. Kitchen was well stocked for making breakfasts at home. Loved the hot tub and heated floors (our dog appreciated the latter as well). Would love to stay here again.

  • This place is so groovy. Super-cute, recently renovated, sweet hot-tub, nice views. Really cozy. The owners were so awesome and flexible with same-day help on everything. One note: In this town, lots of dogs roam freely and this place is no exception. Most, but not all, of them are super friendly, so just keep that in mind if you bring your own pup out.

Artist's studio nestled in a quiet, lovely valley just north of Taos with views of the high mountains of the Sangre de Cristo range. Perfect for writers or artists (water-based materials only please) or a couple looking for a quiet retreat in a spectacular setting. Hikers, mountain bikers, and skiers will find plenty to do in the vicinity. Located in the Enchanted Circle, the Studio is within easy access to wilderness, national monuments, hot springs, and beautiful canyons.
This is a working artist's studio with a loft space with a queen mattress and a futon couch in the main area. The studio is located in San Cristobal valley just over the ridge from the D.H. Lawrence Ranch. Hiking trails from the property lead up into the Kit Carson National Forest. There is easy access to the Rio Grande and the Rio Grande Gorge. It is only 30 minutes from ski areas in Taos Ski Valley and Red River and one hour from Angel Fire. Easy access to Taos and Arroyo Seco shops and galleries and restaurants.
The Studio is located in a former Spanish Land Grant valley, and the community is historic, with its own stories and traditions. The valley is bounded by the high mountains on the east and the Rio Grande Gorge on the west.
  • Fantastic setting! Good access to nearby ski areas.

  • Really enjoyed our stay. Sarah's communications were great and we loved the studio.

    Andy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet beautiful location and inspiring artists loft. The view is gorgeous. We enjoyed the quietness of “just reading” at night! Beautiful hikes out the backyard! It is a 10 -15 minute drive to Taos-but gorgeous scenes along the way!

    Madelaine2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A short trip from Taos to expansive views and peace and quiet! The space was creative with a cozy bed nook. We enjoyed the nearby hiking trails right in the back yard.

A private room with private entrance and private full bath. Sleeps four people comfortably. Use the pull-out couch to sleep five. Although the zip code says El Prado, our house is in the Desmontes neighborhood close to the center of Arroyo Seco. Taos Plaza and Taos Ski Valley are both 10 miles away. The one-acre property sits at the foot of the mountains and is lush with gardens, lawns and trees. The river is across the street. We have friendly cats and dogs, but they do not go in the room.
Attached is a semi-private sunroom with dining table, couch, chairs, television, treadmill and table tennis that we do not use when the room has guests .
Just across the street is a trail down to the Rio Hondo and up into the hills. The shops and restaurants of Arroyo Seco are a five-minute drive or 10-minute bike ride away.
  • We stayed for two night while on a ski trip to Taos and had a lovely time. The guest suite has all you need, including comfortable beds and coffee. This is a gem of a place to stay; I would absolutely stay again.

    Emily2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great funky place to stay with friendly hosts in a beautiful location, I definitely recommend. Must love dogs.

    Bernard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ross and Naty's house was a great fit for us, right between Taos ski area and the town of Taos. It was super clean, and Naty and Ross were great hosts. I would love to come back in the summer to see everything that is growing in their yard, and be able to spend more time in their outside spaces. It was nice to have a coffee pot and electric teapot in our room, even though we were welcome to use their kitchen. Naty was fun to talk to because of all her diverse interests, home cooking, home fermenting, raising chickens, turkeys, and peacocks, and gardening. Those sorts of people are what make airbnb rentals more fun. There were only 2 of us, but the space would have slept 4 comfortably.

    Wendy2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if skiing Taos. Close to the mountain, clean, comfortable room, hospitable hosts, and very affordable.

    Kevin2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this space! We had a group of 4 and everything worked out perfectly. Comfy beds, lots of towels, thoughtful snacks and coffee. The dogs are super friendly, and the people too! Great location between the town and the ski area. Would definitely stay here again.

Fully furnished insulated yurt for the solo traveler to rest and rejuvenate. Full size bed, high speed internet and mini- kitchen. Property is a retreat center landscaped with gardens, flower beds and shaded decks. Nestled in the trees bordering national forest. Great hiking and biking trails outside our door. 10 minutes to Taos ski valley. 20 minutes to Taos plaza. Must be comfortable heating with wood stove, off grid water system, and sharing a bath house. AWD/4WD may be necessary if it snows.
Staying in a yurt is a unique opportunity to experience small living dwelling.
Our land is in a pinon/pine forest bordering national forest with lots of hiking and biking trails out our door.
  • Cozy yurt! Clean and cozy bath house only a few steps away. The retreat had snow still so it was hard to see but it seemed to be an adorable area that a lot of love and creativity has been put into!

    Erika2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet yurt is the perfect getaway! It has all the modern amenities you could need, but it's easy enough to disconnect from the world as well. I spent my days skiing at TSV (about 20 minutes away), enjoyed the cozy warmth of the wood stove and stargazing through the skylight at night. Can't wait to come back for mountain biking season!

    Leslie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a unique spot with great amenities. There are really loud dogs in the morning that kind of ruin the "out in nature" experience, but that's not the fault of Amani. Everything was great and she was very accommodating. Space was comfortable and warm in the winter.

    Ashwin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The solo yurt was awesome! Amani was a great host, the location was beautiful, and the yurt was perfect for relaxing after a long day of skiing. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to ski or explore Taos.

    Andrew2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying at the Yurt. I came to go skiing for the a few days in a row and was looking for a cheaper option yet still very close to the ski valley. I did not want to pay the high prices to be located right inside the ski valley. The yurt provided an excellent opportunity to do just that. The yurt had everything I needed to enjoy my trip and more. If you're looking for a place just to sleep and ski you came to the right place. This would also be a great place to come and get away from the world for awhile and still have access to everything you could possibly need (ability to cook, bathe, wifi, tv) . Would definitely come back the next time I go skiing

    Zach2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome stay at Amani & Sage's Solo Yurt. The property is beautiful, and the yurt was very comfortable with a homey feel. The wood-burning stove provided plenty of heat, even with temperatures in low teens. The shared bathhouse was just a short walk from the yurt and was comfortable heated. We didn't run into any issues that overlap from other guests. Amani and Sage have an awesome DVD selection that we made use of in the evenings. There were several inches of snow the day before we arrived and the country roads to get to the property were a little bit rough on our vehicle. We ended up making it to the property and then got stuck in the driveway right after arriving. We brought snow chains with us that despite the sizing chart, did not fit our tires. thankfully, Sage and another guest were kind enough to help us out of the situation, and sage loaned us some tire chains that fit. We went to the ski resort for the day, and Sage was nice enough to start the fire up for us, so it was nice and toasty in our Yurty when we got back. Not only that, but Sage was willing to escort us out to main roads to make sure we didn't have any issues on the way home. We were very grateful for all the assistance that was provided. This was our first Air B&B and it was a good one. We had a great time during our stay. Believe them when they tell you four-wheel drive is needed!

    Elizabeth2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • One thing to note if driving up to the yurt. You’ll definitely need 4WD* especially after a winter storm rolled through a day prior*. Amani’s directions were spot on. Did enjoy the snowfall and the local shops and food. It was overall an awesome winter snowfall experience. Cage and Amani are awesome hosts. Would highly recommend another trip up to New Mexico

    Joshua2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • It'sa neat little location and cool to experience. Make sure you know how to build a fire, and you'll be nice and cozy. Amani and sage have done a great job with the place, and they're lovely to deal with.

• The location of this place is outstanding. Even though its a bit outsite of Taos the views are spectacular and totally worth it, not to mention the strategic location of the brewery right next door out in the middle of nowhere. The place was charming and clean, will very likely stay here again next time I’m in Taos.

Very quiet. Enjoy your coffee and/or cocktail on the portal enchanted by the scenery and the lush gardens. Minimal light pollution at night. Ideal spot for star watching in the hot tub. Easy to find on the south side of Taos, 2 blocks east of Paseo del Pueblo Sur, I block south of the Canon Bypass leading to Angel Fire. 3 minutes from Sagebrush Inn and 5 Star burgers, 5-10 minutes from Taos Inn and Taos Plaza, depending on traffic. 5 minutes north of the Ranchos church and Old Martina's Hall.
  • We stayed at John's place when all of this weird Covid-19 stuff started going down. We decided to cut our trip short since the ski valley closed down while we were there. John was incredibly understanding and kind during our whole experience. Aside from the Covid-19 situation, the house was just as described and having John around to chat with and to ask questions about local places to check out was super helpful. If anyone is worried about staying in a house with the host there, don't worry about it! John was incredibly considerate and accomodating. The hot tub was a huge plus as well!

    Rebecca2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was great to crash at (and even get some work done - I had to work remotely for a part of a day) for a stay in Taos. John is remarkably kind and a great host. Due to traffic coming down from Denver, I was a bit later than anticipated. He gave a great recommendation for where to eat in town and stayed up to show me around, which I was grateful for. John's place is a little south of center of town, about a 5-minute drive. It's nice and quiet though, which is great! Thanks John.

    Kate2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located, and oh that hot tub!! Very comfy bed too!

    Suzanne2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable place with lots of interesting books to check out. The hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay here again.

  • John was a great host and the room was very comfortable. He also provided tons of recommendations.

    Noah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's really nothing to add to John's already stellar reviews. If you are okay with sharing a bathroom and kitchen, John's place will be great for you. On my stay of seven days, John was away on a trip for the first four days. Entry into his house was very easy. John is a great communicator and a very pleasant and easy-going host. I did not utilize (as so many others have) any of his knowledge of the area or recommendations for things to do, as I was just there to ski for a week so my dance card was full. The skiing at Taos is great and unique, if you haven't experienced it and if you are a proficient enough skier to enjoy it. Highly recommend the "Taos Ski Week," if you're going to Taos to ski--awesome experience!

    Mark2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • John has a very lovely spot in Taos, with beautiful views of the mountains and plains from the hot tub. We'll be back, it's just a matter of time!

    Wallace2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • John has been a great host. He has made me feel like home. It has been my first experience in Airbnb and it has been beyond awesome. I highly recommend John if you want to visit Taos or skiing at Taos Ski Valley.
