What an amazing cabin nestled amongst the woods. The cabin is appointed with every possible amenity and was extremely clean and comfortable. The weather was perfect to explore the local trails and sit by the stream. We absolutely loved this place!

This was an amazing find. Geraldine has clearly put a lot of work into this cabin and it has paid off. It's a beautiful blend of rustic and modern and was absolutely perfect for getting away from the daily grind of city life. It is way out there. And the nearby hiking was superb. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place if you want to stay in a nice secluded cabin for a few days. We were worried that we might be too far away from civilization, but after staying in a few places in the city, the short drive away from everything was well worth it so that we could have our own little patch of land by the river. Truly serine; great host.

We arrived very late, and in a storm, so it was a bit scary taking the narrow winding road up to Geraldine's. Once there, the house was fantastic. The next morning was incredible. Waking up on the creek, in the silence of the mountains. Sigh. Can't wait to go back.

We loved the accommodations. Great for a small family gathering. The silver and golden falls were lovely. A bit of a drive from Coos Bay, but more than worth it.

What a joy to stay here! Everything was clean, fresh, and exactly what I needed. You would have to go a long way to find hosts more kind, gentle, and knowledgeable of their environment/community. The animals (cat, dogs, chickens, donkeys, wild turkeys..with chicks, deer, and songbirds all seem to imbibe you with a sense of "you are welcome here." It's just a few minutes drive into Elkton where you can find superb food and locals who treat you like visiting family or friends.

Karin's place was stunning. The drive there was scenic and quiet enough so that we could enjoy the outdoors. The studio room was very cleanly kept with a bathroom and nice bed. There was also a microwave and coffee provided free by Karin. Thanks Karin!

We stayed only one night but we would have loved to stay some more days. Karin is a great and helpful host and the room is very nice and clean. The area is really quiet and it takes some time to get there from Elkton but it is worth it. Thank you again Karin!

Beautiful detached studio right off the Umpqua River. The hosts were kind and accommodating and the space was lovely!

My fiancee and I lost our accommodation in Reedsport last minute, and Karin was extremely prompt in responding to our inquiries and pre-approving us. The property was about an hour drive to where we spent most of our time during our vacation in Oregon. Karin and her husband were lovely hosts with beautiful property and lovely animals. The donkeys bray in the morning, but we are early risers so it didn't bother us. The studio was a decent size, had basic amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again! Make sure you get breakfast at Arlene's!

Pandora got nothing on Shane's home and natural surrounding beauty. If you're a person that can't respect Shane's home or the nature around the home and waterfalls - please don't go there.

Dream home material!!

The house is fantastic, and the setting as well, but the location is a bit further from Coos Bay than we expected. We loved visiting the falls, and I plan to come back for fishing some time.

Shane's amazing self-crafted 'treehouse' was unique and beautiful. It is tucked away in the forest near a river and has intricate handiwork including swinging beds. We loved looking at the sky while sleeping, whist also enjoying the modern world via a fully stocked and gorgeous kitchen. Loved the 200 year old juniper spiral staircase. Shane was lovely to deal with. This was a real treat and so different from your ordinary home.

everything is as described in the post. the lodge looks pretty nice. they even have a sauna room although I did not use :) notice, the route is a little hard to find because there will be no signal in that area. Be prepared your map on your phone will not work. The route instruction provided by the host is very helpful, follow the route !

We only wished we had more time to stay at the lodge!

Great place! My first yurt experience!

What a wonderful place! Stay here if you appreciate great quality clean accommodation, thoughtful touches like interesting magazines, games and books, little bottles of olive oil and herbs etc, garden produce and a peaceful setting. The river is 1 minutes walk across the field and was wonderful to swim in and safe for kids. Lots of walks to do locally and just a special feel to this tranquil place. Zette and Jon made us feel very welcome.

A lovely pair of hosts and a lovely yurt in a very remote area. Have a full gas tank and either eat ahead of time or bring your own food along since you are not close to provisions. I felt hot in the evening (it was the summer but also some of the vented walls are closed off) which I didn't find comfortable at night, but eventually it cooled down. The property and garden are pure delights as was the hosts and the one cat we met.

Zette and Jon are gracious hosts and Yurtopia was all we hoped for. The grounds are lovely and the yurt is clean and bright. We found both beds comfortable and Zette was quick to supply an extra wool blanket when we asked. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning.

Great location, not too far from the city but far enough to feel way out in the mountains. This cabin is as advertised and very relaxing getaway, and I cannot say enough about the hosts. Thank you again for your hospitality.

Dee takes care of the smallest detail right down to a great water bowl and cookies for your fur baby. The cabin is much roomier then what I had expected, incredibly clean and quaint. It gets a bit warm in the mid afternoon but it cools down nicely around 6 or so and you can open the doors and windows and it cools down quickly. It is on the river, not far from Coo's and the coast. If you are there on a Wednesday the farmers market is nice and there is a gentlemen there who sells some amazing tamales. He is easy to find because of the line. He sells out so get there early.

Our stay in Tom and Dee's cabin was perfect. I couldn't believe how clean, cozy, comfortable, and well-stocked it was. The area is absolutely beautiful, and the cabin is very private: the perfect retreat. It's a short drive out from town; enough to make you feel like you're getting away from it all, but not too far for convenience. To re-enforce something helpful Dee said in another comment: if the bed is too soft for you, take off the memory foam topper. My husband and I did this after a couple of nights. The bed is comfy both ways. :) If you're looking for natural beauty, serenity, and rich local history in a clean, comfortable, and convenient location, go stay at this cabin. We started talking about when we'd go back as soon as we left.

We loved our stay at the cabin and didn't want to leave. The cabin has everything you need to feel comfortable. The view of the river from the back window is amazing. The drive to the cabin was beautiful and it is located near 2 epic waterfalls. I will definitely recommend this place to others.

We had such a great time at Dee's cabin. The view of the river from inside is so nice, I enjoyed drinking coffee at the dining table and watching the river, and even though it was cold my dog really appreciated the fenced in yard and deck, where she could watch the river too. The space was clean and well equipped with anything you would seemingly need. The drive to get to the house is long, but it's worth it because once you are there it's only 3 miles of potholy winding road before you get to two of the most spectacular waterfalls in Oregon. Our single complaint was that the bed was way too soft. The two of us were hammocked into the middle, which made it impossible for my husband to sleep in the bed. The first night he got out of bed and slept on the floor (he is too tall for the spare beds or couch), but the second & third night we just used our own mattress, which we were lucky to have had in our car. We look forward to returning and relaxing at the cabin again.

Great location, very private. We are looking forward to returning to experience the Summer season.

Wonderful place to stay, description very accurate and thorough

Here are the problems I had in order of noticing them: - Drove 9 overnight to skip traffic, asked about early check-in even though I knew we may not get it because we were ~8 hours early, got a terse response that this wasn't possible and wasn't given any suggestions on what we could do with our time. Considering this is a service industry, it's become an expectation. - Found out the 3rd bedroom downstairs is only accessible by walking through the downstairs bathroom or from under the porch. Considering such close proximity, I would've liked to know about this first. - Bathroom proximity became even more of an inconvenience when we found out the upstairs bathroom toilet didn't flush. - We saw people with flashlights trying to open the garage gate the evening of our second night and, after getting over the anxiety of a potential break-in, found out these were our neighbors staying in the attached unit. I didn't know how close our units were or how much interaction we'd have until they started moving in. No privacy on the shared porch, shared driveway, shared fire pit, or shared river dock. Wish I'd known at least so I could expect social interaction with people other than the group I went with. Overall, I LOVED this place. It was exactly what I wanted and I don't personally mind the above inconveniences. If you like the photos, don't mind the lack of privacy in the case you have neighbors during your stay, and don't mind the relatively more expensive fees associated, you'll love it too. The area/river was absolutely beautiful. Even though I don't think the property manager treated me all that well, I would maybe rent this again at the same price and definitely rent it again if it were less expensive.

Chrystine and Nile made us and our dogs feel immediately at home. Their property was conveniently located to shopping, a trip to the river, a walk through the woods, or even to the coast. The house is a must see, as it boasts English Manor. Breakfast served in formal fashion, we felt like royalty. Ask for Nile's extra fluffy pancakes and Chrystine's special peach jam. Fresh eggs are provided directly from the free range chickens that roam the property. Beautifully landscaped in respect to the spectacular territorial views from every window. You will feel truly transformed to another place and time. Quiet and secluded, it is a wonderful place to unwind, take a walk, or sit in one of the ample comfortable antique chairs for a read. Let the crickets and wind through the trees serenade you. The fresh air is intoxicating! Awaken to roosters crowing and breathtaking sunrises that rival the magnificent sunsets. A local restaurant is only a few miles down the road. The Landing restaurant overlooks a tranquil Umpqua River, the food and service outstanding.

Charming place, private and serene. We loved how dog friendly the location was. Host was kind enough to provide take out menus to the local eateries, as well as brochures for local sight seeing and attractions in the area. Check in and check out was a breeze. Had all the amenities and more, I actually should have packed lighter! lol .....Our family would definitely stay there again.

Nicely located accomodation, spacious (even for a party of four), quiet surroundings. Lakeside is kinda laidback as well. Great for going outdoor e.g. the John Dellenback trail through the sand dunes to the Pacific shores. Ideal for water sport lovers (swimming, canoeing/kayking).

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cozy yurt! It met all of our expectations and then some. The setting was just amazing to sit back and relax with a glass of wine, which was fabulous by the way. Tyler was very thoughtful to leave us two bottles of wine chilling for us since we were not able to arrive before 5 pm. We would love to come back and highly recommend.

We loved this place so much that we came back a second time! We love the escape of the yurt, no wifi no tv. Tyler and Bonnie are super friendly and accommodating, and their wine is our favourite in Oregon!

This was the experience we were looking for after a whirlwind trip through OR. A great place to step back from all the hustle and bustle of the coastal tourist venues, reconnect with peace and quiet. The valley is beautiful, the vineyard impressive upon walking through it, accompanied by wild turkeys, and the sounds of silence infrequently interrupted by the lowing of cattle in the distance. The yurt is a luxurious way of camping out...all the comforts of home with a more intimate connection with nature. Tyler was very responsive to our texts querying him above and beyond the call of duty. We would stay here again!

Tyler was very accomodating and communication was great! He had the yurt all warmed and lit up for us when we arrived in the rain hours later than we had planned. Unfortunately we only had enough time to sleep, but he let us check out two hours later than we were supposed to since we had arrived late the night before. The yurt is so cozy and spacious, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The vineyard and outdoor space is so beautiful, we were so sad that we had to leave so soon, we will definitely be back!

We had a lovely time at the yurt, and definitely wished we could have stayed longer! The property is very beautiful, and the yurt is clean and cozy. Tyler was very accommodating, and communicating with him was very easy. The record player and wine selection were the icing on the cake! I would definitely recommend staying here, even if it is out of the way on your trip!

We loved our stay here with our two teenagers. The home had everything we needed to cook delicious meals and get a great night of rest. The hosts are lovely and helpful and the view from the dock is priceless. This little getaway was perfect to get reacquainted with each other away from busy schedules. Immaculate property with disc golf, outdoor seating and a dock for fishing.

It's truly a magical place to stay: the river, privacy on the property and nature were fantastic! You will feel recharged and rested. Take advantage of the river feature and do your favorite water activity there. We went swimming and puddle boarding; the river was gorgeous and serene. We even saw sea lions swimming in the water! The only thing that bothered me a little, was a noisy road across the river; fortunately, at the end of our stay we got used to it ;)

Even though it's a quiet place there is plenty to do around the cabin. Family had a wonderful time. Added plus was the blackberries within the property that my children had fun picking.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin on the Umpqua River. Lots of things to do indoors and out. My son loved the Wii, and my daughter and I watched one of the movies provided. Also LOTS of board games to choose from. Having our morning tea on the dock next to the river was a highlight!

Great place to stay very calm and peaceful perfect to go kayaking and to relax. The only con was the wifi wasn't reliable and rarely worked but it gives you the opportunity to relax and spend time outdoors . Can't wait to come back

I highly encourage everyone to take a break and spend a few nights with Shelly and Pat. They made us fell so welcomed and the house is lovey. Their home Stands right on the river with multiple decks so there are plenty of spots to sit and take in the restful beauty. Shelly made us amazing breakfasts each morning! They tell us that the river is so clear in June and July that you can see right to the bottom and that it's warm and slow enough to swim in. We're planning on going back! Not only did Shelly provide a comfortable place to stay, but she called to offer a special on dinner that, as it turned out, was especially helpful. We arrived later than we'd planned and wouldn't have had the energy to head back out for dinner. Shelly had offered us a special (a few days earlier) of soup, salad, bread, and dessert. My only critique of the meal was that she should have called it "hearty soup" because both my seafood chowder and my wife's prime rib and baked potato soup were filling and flavorful. We had to force ourselves to stop eating so we could save room for her homemade apple crisp and chocolate cake. We retired to our comfortable room in the Garden Suite where Shelly had left a basket of complimentary snacks for us to enjoy. We rested comfortably and arose to a delicious breakfast of potatoes, a sausage frittata and fresh fruit. During breakfast we got to enjoy a view of the Umpqua river passing by as the bright fall leaves drifted down onto its glassy surface. If we'd had more time we would have sat on the porch and used the binoculars and guide to watch the birds and wildlife along the river. Shelley made us feel welcome and comfortable and offered us a fantastic recommendation for the next stop on our trip down the Oregon Coast.

Shelley was kind enough to accommodate me at the last minute and also let me upgrade to a better room at no extra cost. She clearly takes great pride in her home so everything is plush, comfortable and spotless. The setting by the Umpqua River is both peaceful and spectacular - a worthwhile diversion from the I-5 or the 101. Shelley cooked the most enormous and delicious breakfast and is clearly a talented baker. She also brought me an unexpected and welcome snack of fruit and cheese the night before. I recommend booking in advance for her home-cooked dinner (for an extra charge) as the local restaurant is a bit depressing if you don't like fried everything.

Shelly made our arrival more flexible because we thought we me have been coming in a little later than their check in time. Their breakfasts are so yummy! We took a trip down the river on their row boat. We had a nice relaxing peaceful time.

Shelley and Pat welcomed us like we were family. They had every comfort a person could ask for. The breakfasts were over the top outstanding. We loved our two nights there and enjoyed watching wildlife along the river. What a great spot for a B AND B.

Shelley and Pat are such kind and friendly folks! They really go out of their way to make sure that their guests are comfortable and having a good time. The room is quiet and comfortable, with pretty linens, a fridge, coffee set-up and a nice basket of goodies for snacking. There is a closet if needed to hang clothes and robes are provided. The location right on the Umpqua River is perfection. There are decks overlooking the river or you can walk down the stairs and hang out on the dock. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, with a very generous and tasty breakfast included, you don't need to look any further!

My teenage son and I were looking for a fun overnight get-away. From the first moment we contacted Shelley we knew we had found the right spot! Both Shelley and her husband Pat are two of the nicest, most generous, and kind-hearted people ever! They are very friendly, funny, and interesting. Their home is wonderful--it's comfortable, spacious, and inviting, and the outside decks are dreamy! Sitting outside watching osprey and eagles fishing below us on the tranquil scenic Umpqua river was so perfect! Shelley's breakfasts are fantastic, and she really goes out of her way to cater to each guests food preferences and dietary restrictions. On the night we were there she was serving dinner, so we opted to purchase a meal, and it was amazing--she served 6 guests seated on the lower of two beautiful decks! The presentation, attention to detail, creativity in the menu, and deliciousness were so appreciated. It was the perfect get-away for us, and so much so that we were able to extend out trip and stay a little longer (thank you to Shelley and Pat for offering us a great excuse to continue our mini-vacation!). My son just loved it so much, he got to fish for days and paddle around the Umpqua on their pontoon boats. Pat and Shelley made it so easy to relax and unwind. My son can't wait to go back in the spring for more fishing adventures. Thank you SO much for your kindness and generosity, it was just what we needed. We'll be back!
