Just booked in Tuscany

casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only 15' from the Duomo and 30' from Siena. Come and live with us; enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden and our family life style away from the working rhythm. By providing wifi only in the communal courtyard we suggest our guests to utilize internet only when is really needed. Taking a break from been connected with elsewhere and enjoy the 'here and now' could be our best present to you!
casaBARTHEL is a perfect place for a vacation and an artist residency, immersed in the Tuscan landscape only twenty minutes' from the Duomo and one hour from Siena. Come and live with us: enjoy our olive trees, the kitchen garden, the tennis court and the small swimming pool. The TREEhouse is a romantic room immersed in the pine trees with fire place for the winter and AC for the summer. It offers a bedroom with a queen size bed, a small kitchenette with stove and fridge; a bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor terrace. And a fantastic view towards the Tuscan landscape! And if you want to see and know more about our passion for the interior design, the arts and crafts, and antiques you should come visit our design and make shop ‘Riccardo Barthel' in Via dei Serragli n. 234 r, in the Santo Spirito district of Florence! At the beginning of the 1980 our family moved into the ‘Poggio Secco' (Dry Hill) farmhouse, just outside Florence city center, in front of the Certosa dell'Ema. The compound had a big stone villa surrounded by olive trees, a compost hub, a pigeon house, a barn, a tall cypress tree and an old German shepherd dog. Everything in the farm was placed around a large terracotta courtyard, a sort of public square. Thirty years later the ‘Dry Hill' is still our home and a small community. We all live here sharing the same love for the countryside, its olive oil, good food and the family lifestyle! The rent includes the use of the communal swimming pool and the tennis court; the dining porch with the BBQ and the wooden oven; dryer and washer; table tennis and football table, plus a car parking inside the property. We are glad to interact with our guests; you will be part of our large family! Galluzzo is a nice small village with everything you need:crocery stores and a nice farmers market open every day. The certosa monastery is a must. Le Corbusier was there to learn! There are public busses in Galluzzo to go to the city center and to go to Siena. But to get to our house and to enjoy the surrounding you should come by car!

  • It would be an incredible experience if you never stayed in a treehouse before. The host is very kind and helpfully.

  • Wonderful and enchanting place. Refreshingly different. Very accommodating and a beautiful experience. Couldn't recommend it more. We advise a rental car (we were lucky with a brilliant fiat 500) so that you can explore the nearby towns and villages. Swimming pool was great, played tennis every evening and had a fantastic time exploring the amazing grounds. Thank you!

  • Amazing!! We had a lovely time in the Treehouse, both the treehouse and the area around is absolutely stunning. It was only a shorter taxi ride from the city center of Florence. Would love to come again 3

  • The tree house and the garden are such masterpieces. Elena and her friend are welcoming and nice. The view from the tree house is awesome. Delicious breakfast is delivered to the house in the morning, the coffee in the kitchen is also great. The location is convenient and not difficult to find following the direction. It's a great experience to stay in the place.

  • Our whole experience at Casa Barthel was wonderful. Teresa met with us upon arrival and was very welcoming and gave us all of the information that we needed. She was always available to answer any of our questions. The estate is beautiful and the treehouse is meticulously designed. If you need any services, like laundry or meals prepared you can also have those arranged for an additional fee. The breakfast Teresa prepared for us was delicious! She also recommended a local restaurant for us down the road for dinner and it was so charming and the food was amazing. Great spot to stay at outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you Teresa and Elena! xo

  • This place is great! Has a great view and also bigger than it seems on the pictures. Has a small kitchen with what you'll need, considering that you chose to live in a treehouse - including a little bottle of what seemed to be homemade olive oil. The place was also super clean and the bed is great. When you walk in the door, it's like walking into another world with lovers notes all over the walls. Elena is very kind and welcomed us at the gate and left some great pastry in the kitchen. We ate them this morning after staying in bed for a while enjoying the view, taking a walk and playing some tennis on the court that's free to use. Elena gives great tips on how to get to Florence by bus and car (15 minute drive), and she also gave us advice on how to get to Venice. Super helpful! All in all a great experience. A little expensive, but then again - we wish we could have stayed longer. You won't regret booking this place!

Our farmhouse is glad to give you hospitality in the Leccio apartment, it is indipendent and there's space for a couple and a third person. You will discover our organic food production and our natural lifestyle.
An organic, family-run agriturismo enterprise set in the peaceful hillsides amongst olive groves, vineyards and woodlands, overlooking the nearby Tuscany, at an altitude of 480 metres. The stone farmhouse, restored using bioedilizia (ecological construction) concepts, close to the wood, is made up of the main home and of the apartments for rent, each of these consists of: kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
The farmhouse is conveniently located for reaching the most important artistic, archaeological and naturalistic towns in Umbria and Tuscany.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cimbolello! The scenery is picturesque, the cottage is lovely and cosy, and Francesco, Louisa, and their family are absolutely beautiful people. Following a fairly hectic few weeks travelling around Italy, it was so lovely to spend a few days relaxing in such a beautiful tranquil place. We only wish we could have stayed longer and spent more time with Francesco and Louisa learning about their farm and enjoying their company! Thank you both very much for your kindness and hospitality, and we hope to return next time we travel to Italy!

    Kate2013-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Francesco and Luisa are the best hosts that you can ever imagine. We did the pasta course with Luisa (which is an absolute must) followed by an incredible feast. We really had a blast!! So much fun with these two, our neighbor and her little girl. Honestly, this was totally unexpected. The place is really nice. You got every thing you need plus it's so peaceful. Thank you so much Luisa and Francesco for opening your door and being such nice people. Hopefully our path will cross again in the future.

    Catherine2015-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Francesco and Luisa's farmhouse was one of the highlights of our trip. The apartment was beautiful and rustic, perfect for our two nights there. We were able to cook both nights, which was great because Luisa left us beautiful eggs from her chickens to use. We were able to take a pasta making class with them and had a beautiful meal with their family. We loved learning how they run their farm and how important food is in their lives. We also were able to buy some delicious homemade products from their farm (cheese, olive oil, jams, etc.), so save your money until you get to Cimbolello! We hope we can come back to see them again!

  • Staying at the Farm of Francesco and Luisa was one of the highlights of our trip. They made us feel very welcome and helped us relax after many days of travelling. Luisa showed us the art of making good Tagliatelle and sitting down to eat it with the two of them in their home was a great pleasure. The farm was really interesting and we were able to wander around freely.

    Graham2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This really is paradise on earth. It was everything we wanted, beautiful and tranquil with the farm producing most things you really need- otherwise available in the nearby village. Francesca and Luisa are amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome to their magical home. Their two little dogs made our stay even more pleasant!

  • Was awesome getaway into the countryside.

  • Luisa & Francesco are great hosts! We stayed a few days at Cimbolello and we were touched by there simplicity and kindness. The apartment is rustic, clean and has everything you need, with thoughtful caring details (like the art work and the pretty tiles). They have two lovely dogs Cassia and Nena who are very cute and great company. We would very much recommend Cimbolello as a beautiful experience. Angela & Alessandra

  • We had a wonderful time at Francesco and Luisa's place. Tranquil surroundings, and the hosts make the most wonderful cheese, wine, yoghurt, jam, and much more. We also had a great evening learning how to make gnocchi with Luisa, and then dining with our hosts. And the dogs are really sweet.

  • The house was very comfortable and the setting was GORGEOUS! Even though it was walking distance from the train station, Leonardo picked us up and dropped us off there when we arrived and left. He was a really great host and very friendly and gave us information about the trains and surrounding area. The house is very well-positioned and was a five minute walk away from the supermarket and other shops in town. We spent six days there and it was a great base to explore Florence from. Having access to the pool in the middle of the summer was a big plus!! The views from outside our little cottage over the Tuscan hills were really magical and we will recommend this place to everyone.

    Calvyn2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Leonardo was a lovely host and the property was absolutely spotless when we checked in! The views from the pool are very pretty and even though most places are closed in August, we were able to get groceries from the local shop and Leonardo gave us a great suggestion for a restaurant nearby that was still open. Great stay!

    Sarah2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time within a year that we have stayed with Leonardo. Again, we had a fantastic stay! The appartment was very clean and had everything that you need. Leonardo is a great host...Will definately be back!

    Karley2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice guy for a very nice home ! The train station is at 5 min by walk, so you can go anywhere you want ! Thank you again for the great welcome !

    Fanny2013-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location was very good and the host was very helpful. The actual house had a good kitchen size and bathroom. The only thing the house lacked was the bedroom area. The bed was uncomfortable and the room had a really small window. Since we went there in the middle of summer and there was no air condition this affected our experience negatively. The host had a fan available for us but for that room it did not do much. Also the area had many mosquitoes so be prepared for that (in the house it is ok since the host has an anti bite smell infused there ). Other than that the place has a great view, a swimming pool and within 5-10 minutes you have access to a supermarket, restaurant and a train station (for florence 3-4 euro and was around 35 minutes)

    Christina2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Leonardo was a wonderful host! He picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. His house is absolutely lovely and very comfortable. He even provided breakfast items and coffee! I had a great, relaxing stay at Leonardo's place! I would highly recommend staying here.

    Lauren2014-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for a few nights of relaxing in the Tuscan countryside. The flat is clean, comfy and has beautiful views from the balcony. Only downside was wifi only works in the kitchen, and remember the town is very small so the restaurant options are very limited. Other than that it's perfect.

    Rosie2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Strettoio, the private balcony had a spectacular view over Rignano Sull'Arno and spent half a day just relaxing and admiring this beautiful setting. The place was very clean, well maintained and just short walk from the train station. A good tip is to arrive in daylight, the most direct way is to walk through the park and it may seem a bit daunting to do this at night. Leonardo couldn't be there to greet us on the first evening but his family, including his niece who speaks some English, were there to welcome us. Leonardo checked in on us later during the stay. He and his family were very friendly and I felt comfortable enough to have a dip in the swimming pool (in October!). A great place to stay with easy access to Florence.

The small tower can accommodate two people comfortably, nestled in the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside, in a protected area for the natural scenic beauty. The splendid view of Lake Trasimeno will be the setting worthy of your holiday.
The tower is created out of the restoration of an old abandoned stable situated in the centre of a small countryside hamlet called Sanguineto. This place takes its name from the famous bloody battle of 217 BC fought between the Roman army and the Carthaginian army (led by Hannibal). Today this area is classified as one of outstanding natural beauty, where traditional farming methods are still very much in evidence, the major crops being olives and wine grapes. The property have been luxuriously finished using traditional building methods and materials combined with the latest technology. It has its own independent liquid propane gas (LPG) central-heating system, with the boiler located outside the building, as well as its own electricity. A pergola, and a private garden giving out onto the surrounding landscape, offering a magnificent view over Lake Trasimeno, complete the building. The tower has two floors, one bedroom, a living room with kitchenette, one bathroom, private garden, and pergola. Swimming-pool.
Lake Trasimeno is a special place to visit Umbria and Tuscany, you can visit all the greats historical cities of central Italy, such as Siena, Perugia, Arezzo, Assisi, Cortona, Rome and Florence. The area of Lake Trasimeno offers the opportunity to visit many medieval villages where you can discover the ancient traditions and enjoy beautiful views, among these we announce, Isola Maggiore, Passignano, Castiglione del Lago, Panicale, Città della Pieve.
  • This place is beautiful, lovely surrounding with lots to do. We stayed for four nights and travelled the local area, the roundhouse was an ideal place perfectly looking over the lake. The views are stunning

    Luke2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The tower is awesome! It's located in a small town that is really cute - great place to experience local stores and living (we did it between the hustle, bustle, and tourism of Rome & Florence). We didn't meet Michele but her sister-in-law greeted us and made us a home cooked meal for very little cost. It was AMAZING... don't pass it up! We started with meats, cheeses, several types of bruschetta & wine before lasagna made with hand-rolled noodles! Finished with espresso, dessert, and grappa! The grounds are beautifully manicured and the area in general is so relaxing and wonderful! There is a covered porch perfect for outside dining or reflection. Oh, and there was also a nice spread of breakfast foods!

    amy2015-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little tower. Best view in the area. Michelle is very friendly

    Sidsel2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • When we saw The Tower on-line, we knew we had to stay there. We spent 5 weeks in Italy and this was our favorite place ... it is magical! Charming, charming, charming along with a lot of history and incredible views! A comfortable king size bed, a cozy kitchen, great ceilings and our favorite ... a buzzer in the shower. Michele, his brothers and mother took wonderful car of us while staying in the Tower. It is off the beaten path and we plan to return for a week of painting, writing and breathing in all the area has to offer.

    Jill2012-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved staying in the Tower (once we located it!). It is exactly as described and photographed. There was a bottle of local wine waiting for us, which was hugely appreciated! We bought more along with olive oil from the lady at the Yellow house, just near the Tower. It was a beautiful peaceful location. That said if you go when it's not summer I would definitely say you need a car to explore the local area and Tuscany. Also to drive to the local shops to stock up on food. It was not warm enough for us to use the pool. The Tower had a fully functioning kitchen, it was very warm and cosy and the bed was very comfy. The wifi worked perfectly. It was a wonderful relaxing experience, and I would definitely recommend staying at the Tower if that's what you're looking for.

    Francesca2014-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun, unique property! We had amazing views of Lake Trasimeno and the Umbrian countryside! Michele was an excellent host and had coffee cake waiting for us. Lots of wineries and olive oil nearby. We had many visits from the local cats, which we loved! The tower is small but quaint, a great place for 1-2 people.

    Angie2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great renovated and well designed tower in a tranquil setting, with absolutely stunning view of the country side of a small town & lake. The interior is well furnished and homely. We arrived at night, so it was kind of hard to find in the dark, but it was well worth the time & effort to get there. If you want experience living under the Tuscan (actually in Umbria) sun, this is the place to go.

    henry2013-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The tower was terrific, and the view on the lake even better. Welcoming bottle of wine made the stay even more pleasant. I will be recommending this place to my friends.

We are in the San Lorenzo district where is the biggest vegetable market and of typical products from Tuscany in Florence. Garage surcharge to ten meters from the apartment.
  • Teresa was waiting for us at her nice apartment. Her apartment was spotless and fully equipped. The bed room was very comfortable and bed linens were very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked. She bought us fruit and drinks. (Thank you for your Kindness, Teresa!) The location was perfect for all of our sightseeing plans. Everything was walking distance. When we come back to Florence again, we will definitely stay her apartment again!!

    Michiyo2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about the appartment! Clean and good beds. Furnished in an old, italian style. Teresa was very nice!

    Charlotte2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we walked into the apartment Teresa made us feel like we were at home. She was extremely welcoming, provided us with maps, offered restaurant suggestions and left us with wine and snacks. The apartment is gorgeous, meticulously clean and roomy in a perfect location walking distance from most tourist attractions. If going to Florence this is the place to stay.

    Kiersten2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa was warm, welcoming, and her place is fantastic (and extremely well-located). We had a wonderful stay.

    Chris2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful apartment in the Centre of Florence and Teresa is fantastic!

    Jacqui2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa's house was the best I ever seen. It was near the train station and Duomo. Teresa prepared some food for us. Very clean and comfortable to stay.

    유림2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • I will always remember my beautiful experience in Teresa's home. My family and I celebrated Christmas in Teresa's charming apartment, and it quickly felt like home. It is bursting with character, lovingly decorated, incredibly well-located, and more spacious than the pictures suggest. When we arrived, the entire apartment was warm, decorated for the holidays, and featured a glittering Christmas tree. Wine and food awaited us, which was an especially kind touch considering we'd been flying for close to seventeen hours. Teresa was kind and communicative during our entire two-week stay, and even made a very special present for our six-year old son to open on Christmas morning. It was difficult to say goodbye, and we all look forward to coming back to beautiful Firenze and staying in Teresa's home.

    Farren2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really spacious apartment close to everything in Florence. We loved being close to the Duomo (maybe a ten minute walk, probably less) and The Central Market (Mercato Centrale, five minute walk. Being able to make pit stops between museums was great. For those that don't want to do a ton of planning (but read these reviews) I do think the Firenze card is an amazing and convenient option to see whatever you want without a line, and walk back to the apartment when you need to get off your feet. If you have 2- 3 days and like art it's an amazing option that pairs well with a centrally located apartment. Take your time and enjoy this awesome launchpad into the heart of the action!

The apartment is part of a Monastery dated back XII century and it's under the Fine Art of Florence. The room is located on the first floor and it's composed by a gorgeous bedroom with original beamed ceiling and bathroom with walk-in shower.
The apt is part of a Monastery dated XII century and it still preserve the original structure in fact we still are under the Fine Art of Florence. You could still see original column as well portal and capitals. We offer the entire first floor, divided by stairs and a beautiful sliding barn door, it is composed by a kingsize bed with private bath and walking shower and with an amazing beamed ceiling (where you could still see a car paw). The bedroom has 2 windows and the bathroom has a window too. We provide a dock station in the room and DVDs player with a wide selection of movies.
The area is the perfect location if you wish to be surronded by gardens, in fact, Settignano and the hill of Fiesole are just next to us. I'm used to go work in the city center by bike and it's about 15 - 20 minutes of ride from the main attraction: the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery.
  • Maria Rita has a gift of hospitality. She is kind, knowledgable, and very generous. Staying at her home felt like staying with friends. We completely fell I love with her wonderful family, cat, and city. We hope to come visit again.

    Sarah2014-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Maria Rita's place. The family was on holiday, so we basically had the whole house for ourselves! The house is beautifully decorated (it gave me plenty of ideas for interior design), and looks like you can find pictures on pinterest. We could easily park our car in front of the house (for free). There was a good airco in all rooms and the bathroom facilities were great too! Since the house is a little outside the city centre, we visited Florence by car (we were lucky to find a free spot near Santa Croce). I would definitelty recommend this place!

    Valerie2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The house was as expected. The owners have taste and are really welcoming. Our room was very hot and we were given an industrial size fan. The machine was too noisy to sleep with. I couldn't sleep for two days because of the heat.

    Luc2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved staying at Maria ritas beautiful house. The apartment is so fabulously decorated and offers a truly unique experience when staying here. Maria Rita and her husband were extremely welcoming and they have two beautiful children. Our stay here was very pleasant and we never felt uncomfortable despite the fact we were staying in a family home. Every morning, they would leave a lovely breakfast for us and we were free to come and go as we pleased. The room itself is beautiful, it is located up some stairs from the main living room and is separated from their living space by a curtain and by some sliding doors. we were never disturbed by their noise as they were very respectful. We would love to return here if we returned to Florence again. The apartment is very conveniently located to the centre of florencE, 20 minutes on the bus. Maria Rita and her husband also gave is great recommendations for restaurants (one of which turned out to be my favourite one in the whole of Italy). I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Fantastic experience! This is a great Airbnb. It is about a 45 minute walk to the city center or a ten minute bus ride. The room was clean, well decorated, equipped with fresh linens, towels, toothpaste, cotton swabs, water, brochures for touring, wifi info etc. The bed was comfortable, and their home was very inviting. Their cat, Ercole cuddled us at night which we loved because we miss our cats so much back home! Breakfast was made available, as well as pretty much anything we needed... like laundry access! I would rate this a 10 out of 10! Highly recommended! Sweet family, lovely home, great location.

  • We had a fantastic stay with Maria and her lovely family! We were made to feel very much welcome into their home - the room was great and we had great breakfast set up for us every morning. The accommodation was a short bus or taxi ride into the city centre and we would definitely hope to return one day!

Our home has a perfect Tuscan feeling with its exposed brickwork and glass door facing onto a beautiful garden. Located in the heart of Florence but in a very quiet area, a few steps from the Duomo and all the main sights, train station, Fortezza da Basso & the main bus
Our home has a very Tuscan feeling! We are in the central San Lorenzo district, the most historical in Florence, popular for the Leather market and the Central market where you can buy and taste all of our great products. A very typical area! If you are here for vacation or business, our location is the ideal solution for sightseeing or partecipate in trade exhibitions and events. Our house has been recently renovated. It is very quiet thanks to the historic building dating back to 1300, and is comprised of : -a lovely and very quite double room facing on the garden, -a nice bathroom with shower, -a big open living space with kitchen and dining area (sofa bed for 2 people) -a charming private garden with table and umbrella where in the summer it is fantastic to have breakfast, lunch or a relaxing aperitif at the sunset.
  • Chiaras home was absolutely adorable, we loved staying there! Extremely welcoming and tidy. She was beyond helpful with recommendations on where to go and what to see. Highly recommended staying at her flat!

  • Good communication prior to arrival, and met by our host who showed us around. Food provisions thoughtfully set out made us feel welcome. Great location in easy walking distance from main railway station, but also close to all the things you want to see in Florence. A high quality apartment, and we would definitely stay again.

  • Chiara greeted us warmly, like she was welcoming old friends. She provided welcome treats and had additional wine and snacks available at a very reasonable price. After providing us with a full tour and explanation of everything, she provided recommendations for sightseeing and dining. Chiara's apt is even prettier than the pictures and the back yard is perfect after a long day of touring. Chiara is an extremely warm, generous and gracious host who we absolutely adore.

    Bob2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at Chiara's was very nice. Chiara is such a kind host; she waited for us at the apartment and gave us suggestions about where to visit and eat. She even made a phone call to reserve a spot for my mom and I at the Accademia Gallery. The location of the apartment was also very good, super close to the train station so we didn't suffer much dragging our suitcases around the city. Thank you Chiara for a wonderful time in Florence. Also, I would highly recommend doing a bike tour/Vespa tour in Tuscany, so beautiful.

  • This is a can't miss airbnb. So close to the train station so you don't have to deal with taxis and also so close to all the sites. We loved this apartment and can't recommend it enough. Chiara was a pleasure to meet and had several suggestions for us on what to do in the area. Overall, a great experience. Thank you Chiara!

  • Chiara's place was beautiful and a lovely respite after a warm day outside. Chiara herself is very friendly and informative. Check in/out was smooth and fuss-free.

    Grace2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Chiara's spot in Florence is an oasis in the city. Beautiful yard with nice sitting area surrounded by flowers. Apartment has been nicely remodeled and has a great layout making it perfect for a couple. Good location to access all of Florence. Highly recommend and will come again!

    Conor2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Could not have been more pleased. The apartment was as advertised, private back yard delightful, location excellent and that wasn't even the best part. Chiara could not have been more helpful. She found (and booked) tours for us, arranged taxis and gave us invaluable advice and recommendations. She made this an extraordinary value and experience. Can't imagine staying anywhere else when we return

The train station is only 5 minutes away and the city attractions are all within walking distance. no worries about pubbblic transport! for guests wishing to stay longer than one week (7 nights) linnen will be changed once a week.
  • The apartment is absolutely perfect, comfortable and well furnished, quiet and surrounded by a beautiful garden. We will miss the sunlight streaming in the windows each day. This is the perfect place to stay in SMN, with delightful restaurants, cafes, and bars all around.

  • We had an incredible time at Sabina's apartment, it was the first mini break with my partner and we couldn't have stayed anywhere more romantic. Sabina was very welcoming and understanding despite our flight getting in later as planned (meaning she missed dinner plans :(), and the information she left for our stay was thorough and very useful. I cannot describe how beautiful the private garden was and the whole place felt like a little haven for us to escape the city. Already talking about returning in the future and have literally told all of our friends planning to visit Florence to book here!! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home Sabina xx

    Sarah2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a fantastic time here! Sabina was really welcoming and the apartment is beautiful. Lots of space and a really lovely place to come back to after a day in the centre. Gardens were amazing too, tortoises, terrapins and all! Would (and will) recommend!

    Barney2015-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sabina's place is the reason for AirBnB to exist. When I say magical, I mean magical. The place is part of an old Italian complex. So when you stay here you get the garden apartment as well as lovely grounds you can walk. I will not spoil the surprise, but I mean magical like The Secret Garden. Besides this being an amazing place to stay, Sabina is a super host. When we arrived we were greeted by her lovely sister who showed us around the apartment. Sabina left us a sheet with important information as well as restaurant recommendations and things to do. In the kitchen, there was a bottle of wine from her family's estate as well as tomatoes from her garden and a bottle of sparkling water - perfect way to welcome a weary traveler. When Sabina arrived, she dropped by to meet us and brought us another basket with eggplant, tomatoes and basil. There are four dogs on the ground who are incredibly sweet. We ended up extending our stay because we loved the place so much....Our second review will tell people to just read this one. One thing...there is no internet at Sabina's place, so if this is important to you, grab yourself a tim or wind card. The location is amazing. You are a short walk away from all tourist attractions and museums. There is a supermarket around the block as well as a bakery which is run by an American expat (makes it much easier to shop). There is an American bar as well where you can hear cover bands (Pearl Jam). Every time we came home to Sabina's place, we completely forgot we were in the city. It felt like one of those Shakesperean pastoral settings where all cares disappeared. Sitting on the swing watching turtles and dogs frolic. We'll be back next year - thank you Sabina. You place is more than "traveling like a human" it is "living a fairy tale".

  • Wonderful apartment with perfect location! The garden was amazing. Sabina was super friendly and helpful. We would love to come back!

    Therese2014-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Sabina for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment! It helped make our stay in Florence so special. It felt so authentically Tuscan (well, to two Londoners anyway) and Sabina’s restaurant recommendations were spot on! This was our first time using AirBnb and Sabina made it all very easy and stress free. They have a wonderful fox terrier, Punta, who kept us company while we relaxed in the beautiful gardens. The apartment was clean, comfortable and close to the historic centre. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Florence.

    Justin2013-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • To say that Sabina's garden loft apartment is amazing ... is definitely selling it short! If your idea of a great holiday experience is to wake up in a soul-less hotel room, then have to remind yourself which country you are in, dash off to the hotel gym/pool and grab a quick shower - then this apartment is not for you. Instead, stay here, stop in the garden and smell the roses (and the sage plus other fragrant herbs etc), spot a turtle, sip a wine. Enjoy the ambiance of this character-filled and charmingly decorated home steeped in the history of one of Florence's earliest families. Sabina is a generous and genial host who is available if needed, but who does not intrude. You will not be disappointed if you choose this apartment. Book now!

    Helen2013-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sabina's "apartment" - more like a beautiful small house and garden - was a dream place to stay. I would highly recommend it to friends and family and wouldn't think of staying any other place when we return to Florence. In fact, if it was booked I'd move my trip before I'd settle on another place! Sabina herself was wonderful to work with and very helpful with our questions. We have no negatives and our positives are too numerous to write, but in addition to the house being lovely, it is also very convenient to all the major sites. We literally walked everywhere. We couldn't be more happy with our stay. Thanks Sabina! We hope we meet again.

Our house is a small piece of countryside in the middle of the city. In fact, the neighborhood of St. Nicholas is one of the most charming and characteristic of Florence. The house is located below piazzale Michelangelo and very close to one of the most beautiful churches in Florence: San Miniato. Our house is two minutes from the embankment, five minutes from Old Bridge, 10 minutes from the Duomo. From the train station you can easily reach us with the bus 23. In the district, there are very nice and well attended galleries, fine restaurants, bars, night clubs. This is a quiet neighborhood between the river Arno and the green hills. In the near by area there is one of the most beautiful gardens with a special view of Florence called garden roses with an interesting permanent exhibition of Folon. We offer a bright room with views of San Miniato, guest bathroom and separate entrance, kitchen and the opportunity to share with us the living space. In the garden there is a beautiful dining table and many corners to relax especially in good weather. We have wireless and there is the possibility to use the washing machine. if you have your car there is a free parking near our home, at your convenience. Also lives with us two beautiful and very sweet dogs: Lana and Poldo. we wait for youuuuuuuuu !!!!
  • If going to Florence it is best by train as parking is impossible. The accommodation is comfortable and very central. We felt we were old Florentine's living in the heart of the city because the neighborhood is at the city walls and a block to the River Arno and an easy walk to the historic parts of the city. The rooms are in the wide back-garden which is very private and peaceful. The decor keeps the impression of the old city. We would love to stay there again, and highly recommend this property to people who enjoy the "authentic".

  • We stayed quite a long time with Edi, five weeks. Let us tell: this place is a gem!! may it be for short or long you definitely will feel good and welcomed in the house! being in florence over the busy christmas period we always felt at ease and happy coming back to our retreat. edi and her housemate are lovely, generous and just the right amount of being around! and lets not forget the super dogs, poldo and lana! as we were there in winter wi didn't get the chance to hang around in the garden so much, but it's definitely a great plus! don't hesitate: book this place if you want to have a good time in florence!

    Alina2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friend stayed in Edi house for three nights. Although we didn't communicate a lot, as we were discovering Florence from morning till night)) but Edi and Ale are extremely kind and welcoming people, so we had got a real pleasure and were glad we had chosen this place to stay! The house is really in good location!! but still away from the crowds and hectic traffic! There is a kettle, cups, some tee and coffee in the room. The kitchen is in owners area and as I understand the door was closed when they were away during the day, perhaps we could ask to use the fridge at least, but we were always so late that didn't want to disturb the owners:). The air in the room was wet and even the towels couldn't become dry from use to use. But It hadn't spoiled our good impression somehow! I would surely recommend Edi house to everyone!

    Ekaterina2012-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Edi's home and garden are lovely and perfectly located for a visit to Firenze. The room is very comfortable, just as advertised and Edi generously shares the kitchen and living room with her guests. We had a great stay, I recommend it, particularly if you plan walking as your primary means of transport.

    Helen2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Edi is a very kind host and her house is so cosy! The room and the private bathroom were nice, clean and comfortable. At mornings breakfast was ready for us in the living room! The location is very convenient. We rented bicycles and in a few minutes we were in historical centre. The neighbourhood is very cool, it's peaceful and less touristic than the other side of the river with a couple of good bars and trattorias. There was free street parking right outside the house in case you arrive by car.

    Polina2013-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Edi's place is off the beaten path (nearly 2 miles by foot and 6 by taxi from the train station). A little piece of country on the south side of the river, maybe 12 minutes walking to the major sites. There is a private entrance and we were able to come and go without disturbing our host. It was convenient to be able to do laundry midway through our trip. Wifi was available and a nice Italian sweet breakfast set out.

    Stephanie2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Edi's place was great. Unfortunately we never got the chance to meet her, but her friend Simona was able to greet us and show us around the flat. The location of Edi's house was perfect! A short walk to all the sights of Florence, especially Piazza Michaelangelo, where you'll find the best view of the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and the house lovely. We would be more than happy to stay here again. Grazie, Edi!

    Kelsie2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Wonderful hostess. Very clean. Highly recommend. The house is located in a local (non-touristic) cultural part of Firenze that is within easy walking distance to the city center and is just down the hill from the beautiful vista of Piazzale Michelangelo. It is clean and safe, and they also have a beautiful private garden for relaxation. I spent a month in Firenze, and it has exceeded my unreasonably high expectations. Edi is a wonderfully hospitable hostess. She found me when I arrived (because I was lost) and provided me with a map, the comfortable room with private bathroom, and space in the refrigerator. When my Italian improved she was even willing to suffer my poorly constructed sentences. Thank you Edi and Delphine so much! I will miss you, Poldo, Lana and Firenze tremendously. It was the perfect month and I couldn't have hoped for more. Until next time!

He was present at the moment to explain us everything about the apartment. The apartment was great, amazing view of Palazzo Vecchio. Location wise the apartment was perfect. I would definitely recommend it.

  • We were only in Florence for one night and found the room to be in a great location - easy to find and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. The room is ideally located near to the duomo, you have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the room, which takes you to a nice height above the streets of Florence. The bed is comfortable and it's good that there is air con. Samuel was a nice guy, he was patient waiting for us to arrive and helped with the carrying the suitcase up the stairs, also recommended a nice restaurant, where we got a discount because of him. Would return if back in Florence:)

  • A fantastic location for exploring beautiful Florence. Apartment is light and airy with everything there thoughtfully provided. Restaurants and bars within metres! Also shops with leather goods and fashion very close by (as my wife quickly discovered, much to her joy). Only minor downside is the stairs if you have heavy luggage at arrival/ departure. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

  • Samuel met me early to let me put my bags in the flat. He carried my 30 pound bag up 5 flights of stairs and was so organized and kind. The flat was very clean and well maintained. The air conditioning was great and the bed was super comfortable. When you stay here you are in the center of everything and it's really wonderful. When I come back to Florence id love to stay again!

  • Samuel was a great host! He answered all my questions with ease and made it clear to me that if I needed anything he would be there for me. I will stay with him on my next venture to Florence!

  • Renting Sam's little apartment was the perfect choice for my quick two-day visit to Florence. The apartment itself is very neat and comfortable. But best of all, the location is perfect for visiting all the sights within a short walk, allowing me to stop by for a quick rest / freshening-up before continuing to explore that beautiful city. Sam and Rosy are very friendly and helpful, and not only would I recommend this rental, but I plan on staying there again whenever I make it back to Florence.

    Gui2014-02-24T00:00:00Z

  • We had a beautiful stay with Eleonora. She was incredibly accommodating and we were fortunate enough to enjoy her 4 course meal she prepared for us, a highlight of our trip to Tuscany. Her amazing personality and light just bring such joy to all those who are fortunate enough to meet her. We were so sorry to leave her home, thank you Eleonora for a very memorable stay, we are so grateful to you for everything!

  • We had a wonderful time with Eleonora! Her farmhouse was a dream. She is an extremely welcoming host and is available to help you with recommendations on restaurants, wineries, or anything else you could need. We ended up taking one of her cooking classes, which was one of the most informative and delicious meals we have ever eaten. The breakfast every morning was better than any fiver star hotel! I recommend staying here to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

    Abigail2015-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough good things about Eleonora and her gorgeous home and fabulous cooking. Eleonora was very helpful in helping us find our way to the house (we didn't rent a car so we needed to take a bus from Florence). She and her two doggies welcomed us when we arrived and we immediately felt at home. The room and bathroom were very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast every morning was something different and by far the best food we had while we were in Italy. We did a 4-course cooking class with her that was fun, informative and delicious! The property is located right down the street from a camp ground with a pool and a restaurant that we enjoyed hanging out at and the bus stop is right at the end of the street - very convenient for those who don't plan on driving (pick up a bus schedule from the camp ground!). We will definitely stay here again when we come back.

  • Eleonora went above and beyond as a host, being in constant communication and available for suggestions on great places to go such a local restaurants and wineries. She was so kind to accommodate my needs such as a ride to the bus station one day and a late check out upon departure. The breakfast that Eleonora prepared daily was a highlight of the stay, she is an incredible chef and provided a variety of delicious food each day. I highly recommend her cookery class (4 courses plus wine pairing!) she takes it at just the right pace and allows for your input on the menu. Truly a lovely experience staying at La Cucina - highly recommend!

    Michelle2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Eleonora's place is an Italian dream come true. We felt very immersed in the Tuscan countryside and Eleonora was the most welcoming host. We opted for the cooking class and it was the highlight of our trip! We will never forget the wonderful experience we had here!

    Bre2017-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Eleonora was a real treat. She made us feel welcome from the beginning, and had such a warm energy. She is a supremely talented cook who taught us, patiently, how to make homemade papardelle and spiced apple in puff pastry. The area around la Felce is gorgeous and remote. Breakfast was one of the highlights--baked eggs in cumin and homemade jams were like nothing we've had in London. Eleonora knows the power of hospitality, and you'll be lucky to share her home with her. We hope to return very soon! Don't miss a long walk around the area and a tour of the vineyard nearby. And leave room in your luggage--you'll want to come home with some olive oil! Thank you Eleanora for a wonderful memory. Hope to see you again soon.

    Brooke2015-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor's B & B was an absolute delight. Eleanora was the perfect host, from our arrival preparation, assisting us with our travel plans and making us feel so welcome when we arrived. Everything we needed was at our finger tips, wonderful food, beautiful breakfasts , a beautiful and comfortable room and bed topped it off. We also had the pleasure of taking advantage of Eleanoras cooking lessons and wine tour. It was a highlight of our trip to Italy. If you have the opportunity don't miss it. I promise you'll arrive as strangers but you will be leaving as friends when it's over. We can't wait to go back.

    Sue2015-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • If we could've sent for our children to join us, we may have never left Eleonora's! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will rave about to anyone who will listen. We arrived in Florence very late and because of our missteps, we missed the last bus to her house. Eleonora was kind enough to meet us at a local train station and drive us the rest of the way at a ridiculous hour. We felt terrible but immensely grateful for her generosity! Eleonora's house is breathtakingly beautiful — the land, the animals, the sunroom, the kitchen, the piano, the bed, the windows! It's like from a movie, in all the best ways. Light pours in and fresh aromas seep out. Eleonora cooked amazing b'fasts each morning, provided recommendations for anything we asked for, wrote directions for things we may not understand and picked up bus tickets for us while she was at the local store. This was just the beginning, she was an impeccable host. Eleonora is a special person. She's warm, inviting, polite, helpful, caring and has a huge heart for her guests, animals and life in general. We have zero complaints and would very highly recommend the place to everyone! You will NOT regret it.

Although we couldn't meet up with Gian on arrival, he gave us accurate directions to the apartment from the train station and there was somebody waiting for us at the apartment. Would definitely recommend and ideal if you fancy a day trip to Pisa, as the apartment is close to the train station.

  • Beautiful apartment, highly recommended, Very elegant and clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Gian has thought of everything. The location is faultless as it is central - less than 10 minutes from Florence station and is surrounded by restaurants and beautiful shops. The car hire companies are on the same street which was very convenient from us. It was a difficult place to leave and we would definitely come back again. Gian always responded quickly to queries and was very welcoming when we met him. It's worth mentioning that the apartment is in the restricted traffic area and you will need to ask about this before if using a car.

    Sophie2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was really large and in a great area within walking distance to everything. Gian was very nice when I met him and said he would available if there were any problems or if I needed anything. The building was well-kept and quiet and overall we really enjoyed our stay!

    Blaire2013-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gian's studio is large, well-equipped and beautifully furnished. We spent three nights there and found it a perfect (and much better) alternative to an overpriced Florence hotel. The bed is large and very comfortable, kitchen and bathroom are both wonderful and the whole place has been furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Gian was quick to respond to all emails and check in/out was hassle-free. The apartment is located in a great spot within walking distance of all major tourist sites. We will be back!

    Ryan2013-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Gian's apartment. The large studio was as described. We found the bed to be a bit firmer than our personal preference but other than that the apartment's location, facilities and cleanliness was great.

    Peter2013-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic studio! perfect location, beside a private parking if you have a car, clean, modern, well equipped, what else can you ask for? The aircon was a life saver, since it was extremely hot during our stay in Florence 38°C, coming back to the flat was such a pleasure. Gian was a nice and courteous.

    Jackie2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Gian's apartment for my parents stay in Florence. This was my first booking through Airbnb. From start to finish, Gian was the perfect host. He communicated promptly with me and booking the apartment was easy. My parents had the time of their lives during their stay! I would definitely recommend working with Gian for your future visit to Florence.

  • We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Florence! The apartment was so nice, and clean, and the A/C was amazing! Super rare to have that, which made coming home nice and relaxing. Daniele is so nice and welcoming. Each morning you get an awesome bfast set out for you, and I highly recommend using the bikes! It only takes 20-25 min to get into the heart of Florence!

    Brittany2015-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We only spent one night here, but the room was fantastic, nice and big. Breakfast was awesome. Plus Daniele's girlfriend gave us tips on where to eat in Florence. It was easy to find parking and a nice location. Loved it here.

    Melissa2013-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cosy and clean place. Good communication with Daniele. We definitely recommend the place!

    elena2015-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were touring Italy with our two kids. We ha a great stay at the Littel Island. We had the flat for ourselves alone, plenty of space. Its not to far away from the city, if we managed with our kids to get to town easily, everyone can. Make sure u have dinner in town if u dont plan to cook, there are not many restaurants around.

    Daniel2013-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The key learning issue with this accommodation is Daniele not telling us to stay longer. The location was perfect for us with a car, the place was just what we were looking for. The best part was breakfast, his Mother looked after us like we were her kids with so much food! I'm yet to find better. Highly recommend staying here.

    Chris2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Daniele's B&B will be a really good choice to stay in Firenze. It's located in a quite area and is close to the bus stop, so is very convenient to go to town. Even though Daniele wasn't there during our stay, his mum and dad were really helpful and they are super kind and friendly. The breakfast was really diverse as his mum tried to prepare different breakfast for each day, and the house is always tidy and clean. We highly recommended this B&B if you are traveling in Firenze!!!

  • Daniele was the most amazing host on our tour of Europe! I would recommend was anyone to stay with him! He provided is bikes, air conditioning and his mom made breakfast for us every morning. The Denisi family is so sweet and kind!

    Kelsey2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very, very nice stay in Daniele´s home. The apartment is very cool furnished and we enjoy it to stay in florence. His mother made a delicious breakfast ;-) and our trip with his bicycles was so cool! Thank you Daniele! I can recommend it to everybody!

  • This was one of the best air bb's we've stayed in. Fabulous location, fabulous host and fabulous city. Ricardo was a joy to meet. Made us feel so welcome and we are already planning our next trip. My daughter and I wished we could have just canceled the rest of our trip and stayed in Florence!!

    Jacqueline 2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Riccardo was an amazing host, he made us feel welcome and told us all about the city, he went above and beyond by getting us fruits and coffee after a long day's journey. The place itself was stunning, it was incredibly well decorated and furnished, it had all the utilities that we needed and the AC worked well ! The location was just perfect, right next to all of Florence's attractions, in the heart of the city. I could not recommend this place highly enough !

    Artour2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Riccardo's house is so fantastic :-) His apartment is so bright and clean. You can walk anywhere in very good position!!! and he very kind and nice guy~ He told me many information and tips. He is a wonderful host. We Make beautiful memories in Florence, It's all thanks to Riccardo, If you go to Florence Choose to his apartment you will not regret it.

    안나2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment in a very central location. Riccardo gave us some nice recommendations for restaurants and was very responsive and accommodating.

    Simon2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely perfect stay. Riccardo provided terrific support before and during our visit, meeting us on arrival to show us the place and providing great suggestions. The apartment is perfectly located with all of the "must sees" in Florence no more than a fifteen minute walk away. It's also very modern, and Riccardo keeps it spotlessly clean. The bed is also very comfortable -- there was a bit of street noise but not so much that it kept us from sleeping soundly. We hope to come back again and this place will be our first choice -- we can't recommend it enough.

    Mark2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is extremely well located and very nicely decorated. Riccardo met us when we arrived and gave us all kinds of indications about where to buy groceries, where to dine and what the important sites to see were. He even made reservations for our dinner on our first night. As a host, Riccardo was very diligent in everything. The only comment I would make about the apartment is that, being 6' tall, the shower was too small for me to use comfortably. Also, we missed having a microwave oven. Thank you Riccardo for everything!

    Andy2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Riccardo is awesome and his place is FANTASTICO!!!! It's so close to everything. The view of the pointe vecchio (which is only about 100 feet away!) is not quite the photo, but you can see it! My only suggestion is that it's on a busy ish street which is great but if you have any really light sleepers maybe just bring something for them. Riccardo was an AMAZING host and helped us with every detail and was so responsive! Every time he replied within 5 minutes!

    sarah2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Riccardo was a stellar host. He allowed us to check in early which was a huge help for our travels. The flat was extremely centrally located--a 5 to 15 minute walk to almost everything you want to see in city centre of Florence. It was very exciting to walk across the Ponte Vecchio every day given its fascinating history. Riccardo promptly checked us in and gave us MANY recommendations and tips in the city, many of which we took him up on. The flat was extremely comfortable and we enjoyed staying there. I'd say the only thing that was not ideal was there was quite a bit of construction on the street that could be a heard late into the night (almost to midnight). But I'm used to street noise so it was manageable, and obviously not something that Riccardo can control. I'm sure the street will be very nice when construction is completed. Thanks so much, Riccardo!

  • Beautiful room that is spotlessly clean with a cute attached toilet hidden behind a false wall. Location is perfect - 1 minute walk from Plaza Signoria, that is in my opinion, the most iconic square in Florence. It is a joy to return to the room every evening.

  • Maria Cristina Conti's Guesthouse was better than "home-away-from-home!" It was a perfect place, with plenty of privacy and comfort, to spend our couple nights. Our lovely host went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and our needs met. The guesthouse even comes with complimentary tea and coffee. She also offers morning muffins and fruit. The room looks even better than the picture (and the picture looks pretty great). It is very clean, bright, and lively in decor. It was so enjoyable to be there, we often found ourselves having quite the late start to our mornings! Overall: Highly recommend to anyone!

  • Cosy room, few steps away to city's main attractions. Room was spacious. Owner was very helpful and nice. We did not have any problems and was happy with the location and the room in general.

    Sila2013-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room is as what u see in the picture. We really love every single detail of the room. It definitely shows that Maria would like to make sure people feel like back home. The location is very strategic. During our stay, whenever we felt tired, we just walked back to the room to rest before continuing our visit. Definitely my best airbnb experience so far.

    Ruby2015-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We just stayed at Cristina's orange room in Florence and we absolutely enjoyed it. We arrived very early before the check in time and our room was not ready yet so Cris allowed us to leave our luggage in her house and when we returned she had placed our luggage in the room. Cristina is very friendly, helpful and enjoys talking to her guests. You will also get to meet other guests as Cris has other bedrooms for rent through Airbnb. The location is perfect as it's very close to piazza dell signoria, the ponte old bridge of Florence, Cathedral of Florence the Duomo, lots of restaurants, and shops nearby within walkable. It's also not far from the train station. There were a few things I didn't like such as - most of the food around the area are quite pricey tailored for tourists, so we often had to walk a bit further to eat for a better quality meal without paying so much. Also, I didn't like the smell of chemical in the toilet. I also didn't like how there's one power plug next to the shower and I think it's very dangerous especially if you are charging your electronic device and when you get out of the shower being wet, a water might accidentally splash into the power plug. Also there were some mosquitos in the room so make sure you have some spray with you. And one morning at 4am, we heard a drunk person screaming which woke us up. But everything is perfect, love the room, location, the host and Cristina's dog Olivia. She's wonderful. Olivia the dog stayed in our room on our first night because she was feeling lonely. Thanks Cristina. I highly recommend her place. You can find out more review on my blog on fashiontr (Website hidden by Airbnb)

Strange Uncle is located in a small street next to Piazza San Lorenzo and it's 2 minutes walking from the Duomo. The apartment offers 4 bedrooms. This is the single room. There's also a kitchen you can use and from the 15th of November 2017 on, breakfast will be served at Agora Caffe, where you can enjoy a cappuccino and fresh pastry from 7.30 am to 14.00, right in San Lorenzo square.
The apartment is situated in a small and characteristic street next to Piazza San Lorenzo, the square of the famous leather market. The building is from the 1400, three of our rooms have original frescoes. The interior design is a mix of furniture from the late 800s and some of our creations. This room is perfect for lonely travellers, because you never feel lonely at the Strange Uncle :) We offer three double bedrooms and one single room. All rooms feature a fan and a hairdryer. This room was painted all over by the local artist Lianna Mkrtchyan in homage to Henri Rousseau's ''The Flamingoes'' and it's now a beautiful city jungle, an idyllic place to chill out and dream.
This area is famous for its leather market, which is open all day long, every day. Next to the leather market you can find the Mercato Centrale: the ground floor is open until 2 pm (every day except Sunday) and offers homemade pasta, fresh fruit, butchers, bakeries and a very good restaurant; the upper floor is new, it's open every day until midnight: here you can find a bar, a pizzeria, some wine bars, restaurants, ice-creams and in general some typical tuscan food. We'll be happy to suggest you many other restaurants and bars in our area. Our experienced tour guide Julia will be happy to show you around in Florence, the Uffizi and the Accademia Gallery. Ask for a guided city tour!

  • The Strange Uncle is a professional-AirBnB place where to stay. Breditz and Nadja are experienced host, but overall they are really warm and kind. Finally they selected a wonderful place in Florence as you stroll out and you are straight in the Mercato di San Lorenzo. Really a great staying in Florence!

    Luis2014-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was superb with great hosts who were very helpful in recommending restaurants and things to see. I'd love to be back!

  • Was a great experience! They were very friendly and helpful with the surrounding area and getting settled in. Felt very comfortable and welcomed.

    Drew2014-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • One of the top three places I have stayed using airb&b. The peculiar decorations, the humor behind it. Additionally, Breditz and Nadja make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The room was exactly as advertised, and fair to the pictures published on the site. Would definitely stay here again, if I ever find myself in florence.

    Pablo2015-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for the lovely stay. The room was as described, comfortable and relaxing. I found wonderful little surprises in Florence, the Stange Uncle being one of them!

    Jeanette (Jenny)2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location! Central to everything, but up a tiny little street, almost an alley, maybe 200 feet from San Lorenzo . Your experience will vary depending on who else is there at the time in terms of noise, cleanliness, etc, but that's to be expected. The hosts certainly do their best, which is very good. I would stay (Website hidden by Airbnb) the best of the three places I've stayed in in Florence.

  • We had a fantastic time in Florence. It was wonderful. The apartment was beautiful and fresh. What a treat to return home to in the evening. There was plenty of space and it was so light and airy. We slept really well too. The balcony was tremendous and a great spot to relax in with the evening air. Ideally located too; a short walk from the centre but away from the hustle and bustle so we could relax. Claudia was fantastic and gave us plenty of information, helped us sort out where to park our car outside the city and messaged us us mid week to make sure we were okay. What more could you possible want! We would highly recommend staying here during your trip to Florence! We'll be back!

  • My mother and I had a great couple of days in Florence and the apartment is fantastic. Our stay in the apartment gave our holiday an extra dimension. It was such a nice place to come home after walking and wondering around the city and surroundings. The style is really nice, we had both a own bedroom with bathroom. And the balcony is brilliant to start and end the day. The neighborhood is very nice, not many tourists, lot of little grocery shops and a lot of very good and nice places to eat. And all this with the city center in walking distance. We had a warm welcome and goodbye from Claudia and will defiantly recommend this place!

    Aukje2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is stunning, exactly like the photos, clean, tidy and felt like home. Couldn't have asked for more whilst on holiday, truly a home away from home. Claudia was friendly and helpful throughout the booking process and whilst she wasn't able to meet us her friend was helpful, welcoming and gave us some fantastic recommendations. Definitely one to book!

  • On our first visit to Italy we spent 3 weeks in Tuscany and visited Florence briefly. We promised ourselves we would return for a longer visit to Florence someday. For this visit we wanted to experience what living in this beautiful city would be like. Finding this apartment in the Oltrarno was just perfect! We are walkers so the 3 flights up and down each day was just what we wanted to keep our legs strong! And the addition of that sweet Jasmine covered balcony was just wonderful. Coffee overlooking the back of Brancacia Chapel or wine and cheese while listening to the bells of Cestello Chuisa? Waving to neighbors on their balcony or working in their garden. The apartment is light- filled (skylights!)and airy, neat and clean and with so,so comfortable beds. Having the 2 bathrooms was a real plus. The whole apartment was so clean and freshly painted. Both bathrooms and the kitchen had been recently redone- we loved the new tile and glass in the bathrooms! And when Ruth's Grandaughter visited us from Portugal for 4 days there was plenty of room for all of us. We had all the appliances needed to fix oh so tasty dinners of fresh pasta from Mercato Central. It is a short walking distance to the grocery store and to the cheese, fruit and vegetable shops where we visited with friendly locals. It was also located within easy walking distance to most major attractions. Claudia is a dream landlord. So welcoming- texting us on arrival day to make sure we got in Ok then providing guidance and help whenever we asked for it, setting up our taxi for us when we left Florence. We hope Claudia will come visit our part of the world someday and we can return some of that generosity and goodwill she shared with us!

  • I stayed at Claudia's for almost 2 weeks and had a very nice experience. The apartment is centrally located, but away from the touristy areas. Walking distance to nice restaurants and shops, and just a few blocks from the Ponte Vecchio. You can also walk to most museums while enjoying the scenery. I would definitely book this apartment again for my next visit. Thank you Claudia for your hospitality! Orlando Munoz

  • Both my husband and I had a really good experience. Claudia was very informative and was available to talk to throughout our stay. The flat is in a very good location and very modern and bright from inside. Only drawback is that there are 3 flights of stairs to get to the flat. There is a lovely balcony where you get a lovely breeze and is very peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Would definitely recommend and use again. Loved the location which was slightly away from the main tourist area, but still a short easy walk to get to the centre. Apartment was charming, with beautiful new bathrooms, also loved the little roof terrace. Lots of cafes, bistros and restaurants in the adjacent streets, which we found we preferred to those in the city centre.

  • Claudia was the perfect Host. Everything was very clean and tidy and the apartment was breathtaking. Claudia was very helpful and friendly and made us very comfortable. The location was perfect as it was close enough to walk to from the station, but far away enough from the tourists that it was quiet and relaxing. This was a perfect break. Thank you Claudia!

Our apartment is located in San Niccolò, a beautiful area outside the Michelangelo wall. We are near Piazzale Michelangelo, and only 10 minutes walking form Ponte Vecchio.
San Niccolò-Rive Gauche has a very big and charming bed room, a fully furnished kitchen and a living room with sofa bed, TV, dvd player. There is a bathroom with shower and washing machine. We can also have a childrens bed if you ask for it.
San Niccolò is a very peaceful and charming area in the left side of the river. It is near Piazzale Michelangelo and just 10 minutes walking from Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti.
  • First experience with Airbnb and it was a real success. The appartment is really nice, very cosy. Perfect for 2 persons. Towels and all the necessary to cook are included. Great location: 10 min from the city center, 5 min from the gardens, restaurants and take-away in the same street. Elena was a great host, very flexible and available for all our questions. Thanks so much!

    Sandrine2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 6 night stay in Elena's apartment in Florence. The apartment is very near the beautiful Piazzale Michelangelo and only a short walk from the city centre across the river. Elena thought of everything for us on our arrival and even left us a bottle of wine! We ate in Elena and Andrea's restaurant on our first night and it was one of our best meals in Florence. Would happily recommend Elena as a host!

    Mark2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Elena's apartment was great. The apartment was very cozy and extremely clean and well prepared. The linens were high quality and the apartment was really well laid out and furnished. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Elena was in contact with us throughout our stay and quick to respond.

    Annmarie 2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our host elena was fantastic! The apartment was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location.

    Laura2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Elena's apartment was very nice, cozy and clean. We were met on time for arrival and she even had coffee, juice, water and other items for our use. The area is nice and not directly in the middle of the city life, which was nice. Great restaurants were close by as well. Overall our experience was great and would love to visit again!

    Amy2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is nice and sweet. It embodies a perfect getaway for a few days in Firenze. Not far from the city center but tucked away in serenity, this apartment has the perfect distance from the "noise" in central Florence. The hosts are very nice, waiting for us at the apartment and let us check out late so that we do not have to carry our bags around town before flying. All in all, a fantastic place and I would strongly recommend staying with Elena and Andrea

    Tongji Philip2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location close to the centre about 6 or 7 minutes walk. The bars just along from the apartment were lovely too. The apartment is perfect for 2 people. There is everything you could wish for. The hosts made the trip very easy. The communication, meeting and greeting was superb, providing basics like milk and tea and coffee makes a big difference and booking a first night meal in a lovely traditional restaurant was excellent. We will come back and recommend the flat and location.

    claire2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic and you can explore so much on foot including the Ponte Vecchio within 10 minutes. The local restaurant trattoria cent'ori is phenomenal. The washer is broken and it was a real bummer to not have known that before we booked as it did play an important roll in our decision. We had been traveling for 15 days and ended up washing our clothes at a laundromat a 10 min walk away. Other than that no complaints. Place is beautiful and comfortable. It's private yet you get to where you want to be quickly.

Our cosy and comfortable alcove bedroom apartment gives you a true Old Florentine City feeling. It comfortably fits two and is perfectly located right in the Historic Centre. Come and enjoy our sunny rooftop!
Charming studio apartment (abt. 50m2 / 535 ft2) on the 2nd floor (no elevator) of an ancient building, located in S. Ambrogio, a typical and lively area in the heart of the Historical Centre of Florence. Only a few steps away from shops, bars and restaurants, and only a ten minutes leisurely walk to the domed cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, known as “The Duomo”. Ideally for a single guest or a pair or a couple, the apartment is pleasantly furnished, it has an alcove bedroom that can be curtained off, and enjoys a large sunny terrace which overlooks adjacent rooftops, where on warmer nights, one can relax in total peace after a tiring day of sightseeing. The kitchen is furnished with all necessary appliances (refrigerator, electrical oven, dishwasher, toaster, coffee pot). Air conditioning, TV 37", Wifi available.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Karen and Rafaelle's beautiful, cosy flat. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere. They were perfect hosts and so welcoming and the map was so useful with many great recommendations. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this flat to friends visiting Florence and if we come back would want to stay again!

    Liz2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Raffaele were amazing hosts, and this space is incredible. The photos don't do it justice (and they're great photos!) This was the perfect location, walkable to everything from coffee shops to great food spots. They kept in touch and offered tips and advice for their favourite local spots to eat, drink, and sightsee. Highly recommended, will definitely be back!

    Josh & Karly2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Rafaelle's place was perfect for a wonderful Florence adventure! Perfect location, walkable to all attractions and the train station. Plus Raffaele offered to pick me up from the airport, so nice! I left something in a taxi cab and Karen was so sweet about calling the cab companies to help me out. It was like having a concierge. Highly Recommend!

    Kari2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly, helpful and happy hosts who put time and effort into helping us enjoy our stay. The flat is delightful and is perfectly located for exploring in a lively little neighbourhood.

    Martin2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Raffaele clearly have mastered the art of hosting. Not only does their place have everything you need for your stay, but they go they out of their way to educate you on the local gems found throughout the city. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again when staying in Florence.

    Matt2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection. This flat, the location and the hosts. Karen and Raffaele do a fantastic job of making you feel at home. I couldn't recommend this place more. :)

    Taryn2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Raffaele's place was very relaxing and enjoyable. It is convenient to all of the old town area. One can walk by foot almost anywhere. The apartment is tastefully and beautifully decorated. We hope to stay here again when we return to Firenze.

  • As my daughter stayed at Karen & Raffaele's flat her feedback was more than complimentary. She said it was an amazing stay, beautifully decorated, perfectly situated in order to reach places and meeting Karen was a joy who was helpful and incredibly personable. Completely recommend and would love to go back and stay! Thank you!

  • The apartment is really lovely, beautiful and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much and Lorenzo was really nice and helpful. I fully recommend it!

  • Absolutley beautiful place, spotless property with amazing furniture. Lorenzo is the perfect host. Great place for exploring many areas of Italy. Everythng and more you could need. Tram stop a couple of minutes walk. Supermarket nearby. It was lovely to have a private garden to relax in and be able to go into the allotments next door for fresh tomatoes and eggs. You really have to see it to appreciate this stunning house.

    Julie2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house of lorenzo was very, very nice! Everything was perfect! Lorenzo is a very friendly person and his house was wonderful and clean! At our arrival he gave us a lot of infos where we can eat or how to get easy to florence! I would recommend the house to everyone! Thank you lorenzo for making our stay in florence unforgettable!

    Siri2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lorenzo greeted us at the private street entrance to this cozy, white home and helped the four of us with our luggage. The home built by Lorenzo and his family, was open, bright, clean and filled with his amazing hand made furnishings. We were a few blocks from the T-1 Tram stop that easily took us to the center of Florence and to the train station for a simple day trip to Vernazza and Monterosso (2 of the Cinque Terre fishing villages). His map with nearby local restaurants was very helpful too. His father lives next door and gave us 4 fresh eggs from their chickens for one of our breakfasts. We also were able to wash and hang dry all of our laundry needs. We highly recommend this amazing home for a visit to Florence and other areas nearby. Far enough away to be quite and peaceful, but so close by tram to the center of all. Lorenzo was a great host and accessible by cell for any of our needs. The gardens and birds chirping in the morning were also a nice plus. We wish we had more time in Florence to stay in this home.

    Chelle2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lorenzo was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome and the description of the property was extremely accurate .

    Joao2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Lorenzo. He is a very pleasant and helpful person. The house is very cosy and clean and it looks better than in the pictures. Also the garden is very beautiful. 5 min walk to the closest tram station and from there with tram 1 you reach the city center in 15-20 min. We strongly recommend staying at Lorenzo if visiting Firenze

    Simon2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lorenzo and his sister were very accommodating and helpful hosts! The apartment is adorable and has all the amenities that you need for a comfortable stay. The suite is clean, modern and chic. Located on a quiet side street, you are free from the street noise of the busy city. There is a charming private garden out back, a nice place to relax after a busy day touring. Laundry facilities were a big help as we had been travelling for several weeks. Although the location is a bit hard to find, Lorenzo made himself available to meet us and take us to the accommodations. Bus transit is close by for those who want to see the sights of Florence. I would stay here again!

    Tino2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lorenzo's house is close enough to a tram (maybe just under 1km walk) with 8 stops in to the center of Florence. The beds are comfy and Lorenzo's communication was fantastic he even booked us a cab for our trip back got the train which helped a lot. Unfortunately the house which is located directly beside his parents house was lacking a few things such as no tea towels, no toaster, power point in the bathroom didnt work, some electrical issues, hair dryer was broken. Cleanliness of the house was good aside from the grout in the tiles in the bathroom being mouldy. I also suggest before coming to the house you gather some groceries as there's no supermarket on the walk from the tram and no milk or bread etc left at the house. Lorenzo's dad was kind enough to give us some eggs on the second day from his chickens. If you're driving there is a car space but the road to get to it is very narrow, ok for small cars only

An interest in history and art? Business or the desire to do lots of shopping? A yearning for delicious food and wines from Tuscany!? Our apartment Folco ( with DUOMO VIEW ) is at your disposal during your stay in Florence. The apartment is very quiet and bright, located on the 3rd floor of a building without an elevator .
Cupido apartment is very romantic, comfortable and bright it is perfect also for 4 people. It is located next to Piazza Duomo . Newly renovated, the apartment is furnished according to Florentine taste in a very quiet historical building. The apartment is on the third floor (no elevator), in Florence all the medieval buildings have steep stairs. The apartment is perfect for 4 people, it has 1 double bed-room and a double sofà-bed in the living-room.
A short minute walk from the apartments brings you to all of the important museums, monuments and churches in the city including the Medici Chapels, the cathedral known as the Duomo and baptistery, the Uffizi and Accademia museums, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and more...
  • This place was perfect. We walked 15 min from train station with luggage.. A little annoying, but worth it to us to save taxi/bus fare. There is 3ish flights of stairs to apartment that are difficult for luggage but no big deal for us. The location is good-we walked all over Florence. The view from bedroom is awesome- Duomo is right in your sights the whole time. Air conditioning/wifi worked well. Recommend this place! Thank you Irene!

    Andy2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was clean and well designed. The apartment was in a very safe location and it was close to shops and Academia and Duomo. Irene was very friendly. She spent time with us to give us direction to all the sites we were planning to go and the restaurants. She had a great taste of items for decorating her apartment and you feel very welcome in her place. I recommend her place.

    Frank2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this apartment. Irene was wonderful - so friendly and easy to communicate with from the start. When we arrived she sat down with us and gave us a helpful map and pointed out all the places we might need or want to visit. The apartment itself was absolutely lovely - the best part, of course, being the view. You simply can't beat this view of the Duomo. It was breathtaking. The location is perfect too - you're right in the center of the action, but on a quiet side street. The wifi worked well and was very fast, the apartment was very clean, and a great size (bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom). You should note that the apartment is at the top of 3 steep flights of stairs, which is common in Europe, but be aware in case you're dragging a heavy suitcase - one of you will need some muscles! Also because the bedroom faces the Duomo and gets a lot of sunlight, in the morning a little light creeps in through the shutters. We just hung a sheet over the window to make the room darker and that worked well for us. All in all, an amazing apartment in the best area of Florence with a wonderful host - we highly recommend it!

    Libbie2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Irene's home was perfect! Great location, great views, and helpful host. We enjoyed the beautifully decorated apartment so much that we had several of our meals there. Highly recommend it to any visitors to Florence. Thank you Irene.

  • Irene was wonderful - she met us at the apt with her dad who helped us up the stairs with our luggage. She sat with us with maps and recommendations for restaurants in the area. She was very responsive and the apt was BEAUTIFUL and very clean! A pleasure!

    Jill2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully maintained apartment in the heart of Florence with a spectacular view of the Duomo from the bedroom. Irene was incredibly helpful and responsive. We liked it so much, we extended our stay. Highly recommended!

  • We had a fantastic stay in Firenze at Irene's apartment. Met by her at check-in, she was very kind and had a lot of good advises and suggestions for us. The location is very close to the Duomo, still a little bit distance to the noise around the centre. We recommend this place very much :)

    Hans2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!! This place had us speechless, the view alone gave us more than our monies worth. The apartment had was new, clean and had everything we needed. Irene made us feel very welcome and passed on a lot of her local knowledge which helped us greatly. Made our trip! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visting Florence.

Romantic suite in the heart of Florence. Unbeatable location to explore all the major monuments of Florence and to live like a Florentine in a beautiful and trendy apartment with stunning furniture and your own Italian terrace.
This unique apartment is perched in directly in the beating heart of the old town of florence and all her wonderful history and romanticism. The elegant and picturesque streets rich in history lead in a few short minutes to the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and the Bargello! Considering that the historical integrity of the neighbouring buildings have been so incredibly well preserved means you get a rich sense of Florentine history and of our world famous beauty. The house itself is beautifully made and contained with a lovely warm and clean feel, a wondeful oasis to relax from the beating streets in the summer heat or stay cosy in the winter cool. The apartment is serene and beautiful and incredibly romantic. The location and xclusivity of this address offers a rare and relaxing way to visit florence! We have furnished this house beautifully and it has gorgeous features such as wooden beams and an all round lovely and chilled out atmosphere.
  • The apartment was accurate to the listing's description. No elevator, so be prepared to climb a bunch of stairs. The hot water somehow turned off the morning of our check out, which was unfortunate. Aside from that, it was an overall good stay for one night in Florence.

    Carolina2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were extremely welcoming and the apartment was beautiful (just like the photos suggest). Perfect location for sightseeing and there is sun on the balcony until about 7pm :-) thank you!

  • Most definitely our favorite AirBNB we've stayed in! You can't beat the location, honestly. Florence is a very walkable city as it is, but all areas of the city are easily accessible from this apartment. It was about a 20 min walk from the train station with some bulky luggage. The apartment is definitely a two person apartment, no more! But every inch of the space is utilized and it really is as beautiful as the pictures show! Our favorite part of the apartment was definitely the deck. You are in the middle of Florence but it is so quite up there all you can hear are the birds chirping. We enjoyed many a glass of Chianti on there. The apartment was equipped with the essentials, laundry & detergent, iron & board, all the cooking essentials, ect. We wish that we could have stayed longer and we will most definitely be back!!

    Victoria2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying in Stefano's beautiful apartment and it was just as lovely as our first stay! My husband and I love the location of this apartment. So central and easy to walk to all of Florence, and yet when you are sitting out on the deck it is so quiet and you can't hear any of the bustle of the busy streets below. The apartment has everything you would need for your stay, in fact we love going to the mercato and buying our own food to cook dinner for a night in. My only warning would be that there are several flights of stairs up to the apartment which I could see being an issue for some people. But it truly is perfection and we can't wait to return again!

    Victoria2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We met Stefano on the beautiful cobbled street in front of the building. He was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was a little smaller than we thought from the photos. It had air-conditioning, there was no problem with the summer heat. All the basics were in the apartment, even coffee etc, which many hosts don't provide. The apartment is in the perfect location, just a few blocks from Cattedrale di Santa Maria. The terrace is so quiet and comfortable, we loved spending some time there. This place is perfect if you spend your days exploring Florence and want to spend a few min chilling out before each day. We would stay here again, thanks Stefano!

    KARL2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is really wonderful. The white interior is so relaxing - perfect for escaping the bustle of Florence. The terrace is a very charming place to have an evening drink, and look out on turrets. There are a lot of steps to reach the apartment, so it might not be ideal for elderly or infirm guests. However, because the apartment is so high up, you do not hear any of the noise from the streets, which is important given how many people are out enjoying themselves at night! Stefano and his colleagues were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Perfect hosts.

    Tom2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • It was a super location in old town Firenze. We could reach almost everywhere where we wanna visit by foot. The apartment was a little bit small but clean and cozy. The only thing that might not be so perfect was that the water by shower was not big enough. In one word, it was a perfect stay at Stefano's apartment. ;)

Great loft in the heart of Florence
The apartment is located on the third floor of a ‘800 building with a panoramic view on the ”mercato centrale” square and on the San Lorenzo’s basilica with its famous Cappelle Medicee. The apartment has been renovated in 2014. It has the living, the open kitchen and the bathroom with shower at the first level, the bedroom with wardrobe at the second level lighted up from a romantic skylight. The apartment is completely full-equipped with air conditioned, TV 37”, WiFi internet connection, bed linen, bath set of towels, induction cooking, fridge, coffee machine, salt, Tuscany oil, tea and coffee. As all the ancient ‘800 building of the historical center there’s no elevator, to reach the apartment there is a 60 steps stairs, but as you get up to the top you’ll forget about it.
We are in the district of San Lorenzo, in the heart of Florence, the central area between Piazza Duomo and the train station Santa Maria Novella, a strategic position close to all the best sights of the capital of the Renaissance. In the neighborhood is the famous San Lorenzo market with its stalls and the Central Market building where the shops offer typical Florentine products at a good price. You can find craft shops, wine bars and trattorias among the best in the city where you can taste the true flavors of authentic Tuscan cuisine. You can reach us by car from Via di Santa Caterina, and leave the car in the parking right under the Central Market building. The main train station is five minutes walking. It provides access to all the principal connections with the airport and surrounding cities such as Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, etc ... you won’t need taxi or buses: you can reach every place in the center, we are just right there!
  • Ann & Leon were being highly responsive and helpful since the day we sent our first message. I believe that's exactly what airbnb is meant to be, it's not just about an accommodation but the connection between people and experiences. Their apartment is awesome where located at a quiet zone but closely connected to cool sighting seeing places, restaurants and more. I highly recommend his place to everyone who is looking for a second home during a holiday. P.S.: I specially like Ann's hand made visitor's menu haha, it's just awesome!

  • My girlfriend and I have just returned from a great trip to Florence made all the better for the fantastic accomodation in Annalisa & Leonardo's LOFT. It's exactly how you see it in the pictures located perfectly by the Piazza Centrale del Mercato (a hub of stalls selling goods). They can be a bit noisy in the morning so if you're a light sleeper you may want to take ear plugs. The location itself has great Restaurants a stones throw away and is roughly half way between the train station and il Duomo. The place was very clean and obviously recently rennovated. Leonardo met us as we arrived and was very helpful and informative regarding the area as well as showing us how the air conditioning worked and wifi access. If we return to Florence I will def go back to the one and only LOFT!

    Christian2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute stylish loft in the center of Florence. Usually fully booked and 3 nights minimum required, but they only had 2 nights opening and just fit our schedule, so we got this rare find :) the loft is on the top floor of the building, no elevator, but Leonardo was able to help us with our luggage. Loft is clean and has everything you need for the stay(no washer in the loft but I saw laundry service nearby ). Bathroom is super cute, shower drain had some problem, but Leonardo is very responsive and fixed it during the day. Leonardo also gave some instructions for visiting Florence and some recommendations for eating when we arrived. The zaza restaurant just next to the building is really good, you must try it. The check in time is quite late and no place to drop off our luggage, so we left our luggage at train station near 15/16 platform, 6€ for the first 5 hrs, we visited Pisa first then came back for check in at 6 pm. We enjoyed our stay and appreciate Leonardo's help.

  • Absolutely great hosts! Their apartment is absolutely incredible and in a prime location. Was very flexible with check in times to accomodate my needs, had a whole packet with tips about florence. Hopefully will get in touch with them again when I visit florence. Thank you!!

  • This apartment is fantastic. While not very large, it has all the space and amenities you will need. The location is perfect and the hosts bend over backward to make sure your stay is a good one. I highly recommend this apartment and would gladly stay here again.

  • Very central location, just 5 minutes from the Duomo. Chic apartment just outside of the leather market. Great stay!

    Jennifer2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Leonardo was a great host and his reccomendation to Trattoria ZaZa was well appreciated as it was one of the best meals we had in all of Italy. Small, tight space with one side of the loft being a bit low for the person that sleeps on that side of the bed. Otherwise the location is great, the Mercato Centrale across the piazza has great food day and night and the apartment is within a 10-15 walk of nearly everything in Florence. Great base for a short stay in Florence.

Welcome to this spacious studio apartment located in the historical city centre, only two steps from the Duomo cathedral, which you can admire from our gorgeous terrace.
Our quiet nest is located on the top floor of a historic building (without elevator). All the major sights of the city such as Gli Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and Galleria dell'Accademia are at walking distance and there are several restaurants, shops and grocery stores in the surrounding area. The train station Santa Maria Novella is only 10-15 minutes by foot. The apartment has a spacious newly renovated kitchen, a dining area, a living room/bedroom, one newly renovated bathroom with shower and a beautiful terrace that is kissed by the sun from noon until sunset - perfect for lunch, aperitivo and dinner. The apartment is on the 4th floor and please note that there is no lift available in the building.
Via dei Servi and piazza Santa Annunziata is a lovely and vivid area. Right across the street you have Robiglio, one of Florence best pastry shops, and around the corner you'll find no one less than David...yes, that David. The hip neighborhood Sant' Ambrogio, with its local food market and authentic restaurants Bistro Gilda and Trattoria Cibrèo, is only 10 minutes by foot. If you go the opposite direction, towards the central train station you'll find another must-visit food market, il Mercato Centrale, the popular restaurant ZaZa and the newly opened concept space La Menagere which includes a restaurant, jazz bar, coffee shop, flower and decor shop. Only 10 minutes by foot you'll reach Buca Lapi e Buca Mario, both celebrated restaurants. We could continue with tips of other hidden gems but we'll keep that for when we meet...
  • Jennifer was a great host and kindly came to meet us as the apartment and show us round even though we arrived late at night. The apartment was as described and as appeared in the photos. We would definitely stay again if visiting Florence.

    Emily2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer's apartment, and would definitely recommend to others! The space was spotlessly clean and beautifully designed, and with the stunning views from the terrace it really did feel like a luxury holiday. The climb up the stairs to the top floor was good exercise every day but totally worth it. Location was perfect, right in the middle of everything, but you wouldn't know it from how quiet it was. If we come back to Florence we would definitely want to stay here again. Thank you Jennifer!!

  • My husband and I stayed here for a few days while on our honeymoon. From the adorable decor to the prime location, we can't say enough good things about this place! It's within walking distance to most everything and is easy to find because of its close proximity to the Duomo -- and what a sight to see each morning as you leave the apartment! But most of all, the hospitality we experienced while here was unparalleled. We had just arrived in Florence from Rome when we realized we left one of our bags (with our passports) in the cab. Jacqueline went above and beyond to help us track down our bag and saved us a trip to the U.S. Embassy. Passport issue aside, we had an unbelievable stay. Thank you, Jacqueline!

  • We had an amazing stay at Jaquelines rooftop apartment and would highly recommend to anyone heading to Florence! Everything you need is in the apartment and Jaqueline is super helpful and easy to coordinate with. The patio is stunning especially for sunset and mornings. It's right next door to the Accademia and Duomo as well as anything else you'd like to see in Florence. The only tough part is that it's up 5 floors so lugging the suitcases up there was quite the workout. Would definitely stay again!

    McCall2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! The place was beautiful and right in the center of Florence. Loved the balcony.

  • We would highly recommend Jacqueline's apartment in Florence. It's is centrally located, easy walking to local restaurants and places to see. The apartment is spacious, very clean and comfortable. The roof terrace was stunning, with beautiful views over the city, a great place for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

  • This a nice place to stay, live in , even for a longer time. We (Email hidden by Airbnb) is located near the most beautiful places of Firenze , Piazza S.S. Annunziata, in reach of good restaurants, and all sight seeing worth. The apartment was in best condition, everything provided, and Jennifer is a perfect host. We could not use the tempting terrazza, wintertime and very cold, but loved the view. Joyful days!

  • We had an amazing welcome with drinks and beautiful bruscetta made by our host! We relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful views as we settled in. The house is so beautiful and we felt at home. Our hosts went above and beyond with their hospitality and we would recommend this stay to everyone. Perfect piece of paradise away from home.

  • Staying at Daniele's parents home in the Tuscan countryside was such a wonderful experience. The home itself is absolutely stunning - everything you think of when you think of a Tuscan home - and Daniele's parents, Theresa and Augostinom are incredible hosts. They really made us feel like royalty the whole time. When we arrived, Theresa greeted us with a complimentary bottle of Chianti and homemade bruscetta, using ingredients fresh from her yard, which we ate while watching the sunset over that absolutely magical view! The house and room is incredible and if you can, I highly suggest paying Theresa and Augostino to cook you dinner. It was the most incredible meal we ate all trip. Again, all made with fresh ingredients from their yard. So perfecto! We paid $40 each for our meals, and it was worth every single penny! As an added bonus, they have 2 sweet dogs who are so lovely and friendly. If you are a dog-person, it makes it that much more special. I highly recommend you stay at Daniele's home in Tuscany! Also - to kill time before check-in (as it is quite late at 5pm), their home is about a 45 minute drive from the Chianti region, which is perfect for wine tasting, touring and taking in the Tuscan countryside! So bellissimo!

  • The vacation we spent at Teresa and Agustino's place was absolutely amazing and unforgettable! We were really touched by the lovely couple's warm hospitality, Teresa's superb cooking and of course the breathtaking landscape of Toscana. Four days are just not enough! Our kids make good friends with their lovely dogs Olivia and Sara and I believe the memory of playing with Oli will left a permanent pictures on our kids' minds. We bought the famous local biscuits and wines thanks to the introduction of the couple and our families and colleagues just love the biscuits. We can't express more about our pleasant experience at your place but simply we will come back one day! Thank you very much, Teresa, Agustino and Daniel! Jie LI FLATTER, Luxembourg

  • By far, our best experience using AirBNB! Daniele and his parents are exceptional hosts, and not only go out of their way to make you feel welcome, but like family. We had trouble finding the house with our GPS, so Daniele's mother drove to us and led us to the property. She's a fantastic chef and will prepare three course dinner for an additional charge (well worth it compared to typical cost to eat out, and the exceptional value). The property itself is stunning and hand-crafted by Daniele's father, be sure to ask about its construction. Getting to know this family was one of our best experiences in Italy!

  • If you are now checking the review and decide if you should book this place. I will tell you just go ahead. You are going to get many surprise from them. Please at least 2nights. I blamed myself why only plan 3days staying in such wonderful place. Everything is perfect and surprise. From the beginning Daniele was so patient to answer all my question about my trip. He also arranged pick up service for us. We thought it will only be the NCC driver however their sweet parents are the one to pick up. They are so lovely. When we reached their house, it was big surprised, the house is so special and nice. The view from the house is amazing. Daniele's parent tried to take care us all the time. They showed us all the best view point of around Florence and Tuscany. They cooked the best Italian food for us. The salami we ate were the best in my life. They not only bnb host, they will try their best to let you know how lovely the Italian are. I am sure I will come to visit them again and again.

  • I can not say enough great things about this beautiful place! The home was beautiful and the views were spectacular. But I must say visiting with our wonderful hosts was a highlight of our trip! Whether it was ideas for planning our activities and sites to see or just spending the evening chatting on the veranda, their hospitality was genuine and by the time we left we felt like we were saying goodbye to old friends. If you get a chance to visit this area, We definitely would recommend you stay here!

An ideal choice to experience life in the heart of Florence, only 50m from the Accademia Gallery and 100m to the Duomo, our tastefully decorated apartment has marvellous views of the Duomo and Giotto's Bell Tower.
The apartment has a living area with dining table and small sofa which converts to a bed, fully equipped kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom with shower. The excellent location makes this lovely apartment a great choice for discovering the delights of the city on foot to visit the museums, squares, churches, markets, artisans shops and exclusive designer shops.
We are in a fantastic part of the city, just a few meters from bars, restaurants, a supermarket, greengrocers, bakeries, a chemists, launderette and lots of other great shops. Piazza San Marco with its beautiful church is 100 meters away and from here there are buses to all parts of the city . The Accademia Gallery is just round the corner as is the conservatory of music.
  • perfect location! less than five minutes from both the david and the duomo! apartment was super clean and the perfect size for two. Riccardo was a great host, showing us places to eat in the area and meeting us at the beginning and end of our stay. After 4 months of studying abroad in Europe,I have to say this is by far the best airbnb I stayed in! highly recommended!

    Jessica2014-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very good location although our car couldn't go into the street to drop off luggages. Trying hard to meet up the host but at the end, we waited for 15mins because he was taking care of another guests.

  • My fiancé and I loved Riccardo's place the most out of the many places we stayed at throughout Italy! It is very clean and spacious. Riccardo is kind and thoughtful in his recommendations and took the time to answer any questions we had. By the end of our stay, we were saying, "It's Riccardo's place, of course he has [insert object]!" We would recommend this apartment to the most critical travelers.

    Louis2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Riccardos place was great. We had everything we needed and he was super quick in getting back to us when we had any questions. The flat couldnt be in a better location and would for sure come back

  • I stayed with two friends at Riccardo's apartment. We were greeted by Pam who was very welcoming and gave us useful information about the apartment and Florence. The apartment is lovely and is in an excellent location - just around the corner from David and walking distance to all that Florence has to offer.

  • Riccardo was the definition of a perfect host. He met us within minutes of getting to the apt and helped us with our bags up 4 flights of stairs. He was a great help in providing us with a map, how to get around the city and directions to some great restaurants and bars. The apt was perfect for the 3 of us and the kitchen had basic food items for our use. The location was perfect, a inure walk to the duomo! But the street we stayed on was quiet, in such a busy city! On our last day we had a small problem with the electricity. Riccardo was available right away to help us. He was warm and friendly and made our stay in Florence perfect.

    Denise 2014-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ricardo's place is perfectly positioned to all of the major attractions in Rome. The place was clean and tidy and it was easy to meet his friend at the bar downstairs to let is in. Only thing to note is that the staircase is narrow and lots of flights to get up so its tough but once you get up its a beautiful view in central Florence.

    Stacey2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Florence, wow what a city. The apartment is so centrally located, we couldn't have asked for a better location. The apartment is large, lovely & light, clean & beautifully decorated. Riccardo left us some treats, sweets, tea/coffee, oil/balsamic which was very kind. We highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Florence.

The apartment is located in via del Corso, between the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio (Piazza della Signoria), one of the ancient street of Florence. This top floor apartment has a wide terrace overlooking the Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore, which is perfect for a private lunch, dinner or just for relax. The apartment is accessed via staircase, as in all ancient Florentine buildings a lift is not available. In any case, we will be happy to help you to carry up your luggage into the apartment! Main characteristics: 2 sleeping accommodations - kitchenette - wide panoramic terrace with Cathedral view - antique Florentine furniture. There is a comfortable double bed, a fully equipped kitchen nook and a cozy living space. Here below is a list of want you will find in the apartment: - Terrace equipped with small table and chairs - Kitchenware for 4 people - WiFi connection - Air conditioning - Hair-drier - Iron - TV - Final cleanings
  • We had a great time staying at Patrizia's apartment - it was exactly how it looked in the photos. The location was excellent, roof terrace was lovely and the bed is very comfy. It is up several flights of stairs - so something to bear in mind if you have limited mobility (or a large suitcase!)

    Leah2015-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The position is great, you can reach every monument by walk. The apartment is very small but the terrace is a jewel. A bit noisy in the weekends because of old windows but the bed is very comfortable. Internet is very slow but the main problem is the staircase: the 4 floors are not the worse thing but it is very narrow and steep. If you have a lot of luggages, like us, might be a problem. And they write that they will help with the luggages but it is not really true. Patrizia was very very gentle at the reception and very quickly in answering to messages BEFORE our staying but I wrote her after because we lost something precious (very probably not in the apartment) and I never got a reply. This was a pity. Overally recommended with some minus.

    Umberto2015-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our host greeted us on the street after arriving by bike. We had a lot of luggage and she helped us carry some of it up the many flights of stairs. The apartment is absolutely lovely - picture perfect Florence stay. As soon as we arrived, I went out to the balcony and was blown away by the Duomo's dome. Immediately, bells began to ring across the city - I knew I had reached heaven. Inside of the apartment the charm was off the charts. Art on the walls, antique furniture, great spacial design. The bed was very comfy and I could see both the Duomo and the Palazzo Vecchio from the bed. The price was the icing on the cake! The 6 flights of stairs were no match for the energy I gained from this fabulous city.

    zach2015-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were met on the street by Patrizia's colleague who was on the lookout for us and was able to pick us out on the crowded street as the lost looking tourists. A somewhat strenuous climb up 4 flight stone staircase leads to a lovely apartment, comfortable, well air conditioned, perfect location, adequate kitchen, nicely decorated, pretty terrace.

    Priscilla2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is just the most perfect spot to stay in Florence. You are five minutes walk from anywhere in the centre of the city and the terrace is the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere - especially in the evening. There is a church opposite which holds an organ concert for about half an hour each evening and - not only is it wonderful if you go and sit in the church - but the sound drifts up to the terrace too. However, you are four floors up so it's atmospheric without being too loud. Patrizia and Simone were wonderful hosts - helping us up with the bags, answering any queries beforehand very quickly and also giving us useful pointers on where best to go while we were in Florence. There are a lot of steps but you quickly get used to it and it's well worth it to get such an amazing view of Brunelleschi's Dome (although take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper and want a lie in - you don't see this many belltowers without hearing the odd bell!). There is a handy small supermarket in the square behind the apartment - perfect for stocking up on groceries. Oh and everything is wonderfully clean and tidy - yet furnished in a way that gives real character.

    Dawn2014-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment with wonderful view. Internet not great but the view made it worth it.

    Zachary2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • The B N B was lovely just as it had been pictured. It is in a great area 2 o3 blocks to the Dumo and Signornia Plaza. The coffe shop across the Street was just right to start the day. Patrizia was warm and willing to extend herself the extra mile to help. She carried my bag up 4 flights of stairs. Small, but mighty. She gave Me recommendations on restaurants and helped me find a camera shop. The apt makes a good base for walking in Florence.

    Patricia2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome. Patrizia's home is 100% worth it. The place was extremely clean and comfortable. The location was right in the center of everything. We walk every where. All and all great experience

  • Luca's apartment is right in the center of Piazza Signoria, near Palazzo Vecchio, which made our stay in Florence more about experiencing the city than finding transportation to and from the apartment. The apartment itself is spotless, stylish and very well equipped. Luca was so thoughtful and had stocked the place with the essentials- coffee, hair dryer, wine opener, to name a few. The icing on the cake (literally) was a couple of desserts that he had got us as a welcome gift. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better spot in Florence!

  • Beautiful, apartment in the best location in Florence. It is small, about the size of a hotel room, but it has everything you need. The bed is very comfortable and the room is quiet and dark at night, so you can sleep well - which is great for jet lag. It was an easy walk to the train station and all the main sights in Florence. Luca’s representative was waiting for me when I arrived and check-in was fast and easy. Also, the apartment was very clean and secure. Thank you Luca for a great visit in Florence!

  • Luca was a fantastic host and his apartment is a romantic piece of art. Upon arrival, he greeted us with a big smile and made us feel welcome right away. He was well organized and gave us a list with check-in/check-out times, passwords, recommended restaurants, phone numbers etc. The apartment is perfectly located between the Duomo (5 minutes walk) and the Ponte Vecchio (3 minutes walk). Plenty of restaurants and shops can be found at Piazza della Signoria the moment you get out of the door. For late night casual Tuscan snacks and nice wines and beer, there is the 'Vinaino' literally right next door. Upon departure, Luca was nice to let us leave a broken suitcase in the unit, that he disposed on our behalf. Overall, a wonderful experience with a very friendly host.

Besides the fact that it is steps away from the train station, you can walk anywhere you want from it: best restaurants, shops, museums and piazzas. I hope to be back in Florence again and stay at Monica’s apartment.

We were very late for our planned arrival yet Monica's son was more than friendly --- he showed us all around the apartment and pointed out great restaurants nearby. Monica also checked-in with us to make sure everything was going good. Much appreciated! The kitchen is beautiful! We had everything we needed for cooking a wonderful meal. Highly highly recommend!

  • Monica's place is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location for exploring the city. I loved how it has two full bathrooms and washer/dryer - that was a nice surprise - and worked well when staying with another couple. The sleeping arrangements were nice and dark, and the sofa bed was quite comfortable as well.

Ranieri was there to greet us and help us with our luggage, very warm and welcoming! lovely accomodating hosts, allowed us to stay an extra night last minute and gave us a late check out. The location is great and convenient near SMN station. Would highly recommend! and definitely stay there again! Thank you for your hospitality Monica & Ranieri!

You'll be in the historic center of Florence, in the heart of the most authentic neighborhood, in one of the most beautiful square, in front of a fascinating church, in an historic building of the XV cent, in a completely renovated chic apartment!
Characteristic renovated historic apartment in Piazza Santo Spirito. The square is amazing, you'll love it! It's full of life, wine bar, restaurants and antiques store! There is also a lovely courtyard where reading a book, smoking a cigarette or just having relax!
Santo Spirito is the main square of "Oltrarno", the most characteristic Florence's neighborhood, it has shops, artisans and workshops! Lively at night you can find bars and restaurants, as well as some of the most popular restaurants in Florence. More info and pictures? • Beautiful apartment in a great central location. Lively neighborhood with a beautiful courtyard. Apartment remained cool even though there was no air conditioning and we had to rely on a fan.

  • Leonardo was awesome...he let us check in early which was much appreciated. His apartment is in a fantastic trendy area which is close to the CBD but far enough away from the very touristy parts. There are heaps of restaurants and bars outside the door! We loved staying here and would definitely recommend Leonardos apartment to everyone. We loved the apartment which was very spacious and meticulously renovated.

  • Apartment was well located and presented as per photos. We were disappointed with lack of Host support and timeframe to resolve issues of bad sleeps with hot weather and inadequate fan. Host response was "It's Florence"

  • Highly recommended! We loved staying in this fabulous apartment for several reasons including the location and apartment layout. Being in this location meant we could have an authentic Italian experience but also access all the major sites by foot. The apartment has everything you need to cook from the markets as well as enjoy wine / reading in the shared courtyard. It was clean and Leonardo made the check in and out experience very easy. It was easily the best apartment we have stayed in.

  • We've had a great stay in this superb flat. The neighborhood is not too busy with tourists but still has many nice places and the more touristic area is just a small walk away. We felt more like residents than tourists. And Leonardo answers your requests almost within a minute! We'll come again!

  • My first impression when I saw Leonardo's listing was "Wow" and my first impression when I saw the apartment for myself was "Wowee!". This apartment was absolutely amazing, it's part of an older building but the suite itself was completely renovated. There was such a wonderful balance of gorgeous wood ceilings that looked historical with lovely modern finishing. And the place was super clear, there was so much attention to detail it was such a delight - even down to the last touch of a welcoming bottle of red wine for us. The bed was super comfortable and for the first time, it seemed like someone splurged and went with luxurious seats. I can't say enough wonderful things about Leonardo's apartment, but would recommend it to anyone who wants a beautiful, comfortable and convenient place. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

  • Leonardo was terrific in all regards - he went over and above to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable. He even rescued us in an emergency on short notice! If that wasn't enough, his place is terrific, ideally situated and with all the amenities one would need to enjoy Florence. We strongly recommend Leonardo's place to any and everyone!
