Renovated, log fire plus a large entertaining area. Just a short walk to the lake or short drive to NSW's best surf beaches. You will need to provide 2 sets of queen sheets and 2 sets of single sheets, pillow cases and bath towels however everything else is there for you along with a few kitchen/bathroom basics.
CASA DEL CASSON Come and relax in this Mexican-inspired cedar log home. This 3-bedroom cabin is surrounded by a tropical rainforest reserve for the ultimate in holiday privacy. It’s exceptionally clean, comfortable and cosy. The property has just been freshly renovated and modernised including a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new bathroom vanity and tapware and new timber floors. The cabin has a log fire and new glass skylights to let the light in, all year round. Fully furnished with w/machine, dryer, 40inch TV, DVD, gas BBQ, toilet, log fire and reverse cycle air-conditioner/heater. The house has two queen sized beds and the third bedroom has two single beds. 200m stroll to the sandy beaches and clear waters of Smiths Lake & the boatshed cafe. Close to local shops, which includes a gourmet café, butcher, baker, bottle shop and general store. The cabin is dog friendly, with plenty of places for your pet to roam free, but please keep in mind that the property is surrounded by wilderness. WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET HERE If you've been to the area before, you'll know that it boasts some of the best surf in Australia. If you haven't, well you'll never want to leave. Beaches are within a 5 - 10 minute drive which include Cellito, Boomerang, Blueys and Elizabeth (patrolled, and good for kids). Local lakes are ideal for swimming with young children, with shallow clear water. Seal Rocks is 20 minutes drive away - head up to the lighthouse for great views, and whale watching (in season). Or surf at Treachery and Lighthouse beach. Forster is approximately 20 minutes drive, which has the usual supermarkets and various retailers. Smiths Lake village has a butcher, baker, village shop and the Lakes Cafe, which does a great coffee. The village shop is great for renting DVD's. There is aslo a short 9-hole golf course nearby, as well as 18 hole courses at Forster. There's a local winery, tennis courts at Pacific Palms and ample bush walks. Kayaks and small boats can also be hired from the Frothy Coffee Cafe 200 metres down the road. For dinner or drinks head to 'The Reccie' or ‘The Bowlo’ or fire up the barbie in the backyard. If you love surf, sun and solace, you'll love Smiths Lake.
  • The log cabin was bliss. Everything was very clean, airy and spacious, and the couch is extraordinarily comfy. The surroundings are also beautiful. the only tip I would give future guests of the cabin is to bring a sleeping mask if you're a light sleeper. The curtains are fairly sheer, so if you're bothered by light in he morning you may need to bring something along. Didn't bother me at all, but I'm an early riser. Thanks for creating such a wonderful space!

  • Nicely appointed and clean house. Smiths Lake is quite a nice sleepy lakeside resort with some nice beaches a drive away. The house feels like its in the jungle surrounded by very tall trees. It feels private but there are other houses nearby. Although not mentioned in the listing be aware guests have to bring their own bed linen, towels and as we discovered on arrival essentials like soap, washing up liquid, salt and pepper, coffee maker, tea towels etc.

  • Place was amazing; close to the beach, friendly locals, nature on your doorstep and the interior were amazing. The couch as well was like a day bed beautiful

  • What a great place! The leafy surrounds, fireplace and open living area made for a very relaxing family weekender. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a nice meal and the cabin itself was clean and cosy, though still had plenty of room for five of us. Smiths Lake is a lovely part of the coast and there are some beautiful beaches, rocks and lighthouses to visit in the surrounding areas... we hope to be back!

    jessica2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place- but sent a message to host and didn't receive a reply.

    Danny2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The house located near the lake. Good for the fishing, but nothing much around. You need to driver 10-15 minutes to get a beach.

    Jaeha2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely log cabin in the forest, close to the lake but no lake views. Nice and quiet and relaxing. Everything we needed.

  • This has been the second time we have stayed at the Casa- and we loved it both times!! Great open kitchen living area, awesome couch to enjoy the fire and close to a quaint little coffee shop 5 mins away.

Less than 3 hrs from Sydney. Huge home on 5 acres, with views, magical art-works, wrap deck & great energy. Secluded, peaceful & many wallabies, birdlife and wild-life. Star-filled night skies. Surrounded by stunning beaches and easy bushwalks. The perfect get-away for city folk, and true aussie experience for overseas visitors. Gourmet kitchen, recently painted and new wooden floorboards. Great for nature lovers, beach goers, bush walkers yogis and more. Pets love it. Heaps of books games.
White Light is character home with the most divine energy on 5 glorious acres, set among the undulating hills of the Wooton Valley. Pets are very welcome, but please observe house rules. It's not 5 star, but it is a million stars at night in the clear country sky, and it is our most favourite place it the world. Tim Laffey's art, impressionist in style hang from the walls, bringing nature inside. Just (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Tim Laffey. There is deliberately no wi-fi (though you can hot-spot) and only a small TV. The home is about getting a break without the distractions of technology - getting back to nature, and enjoying relaxation time. There are plenty of books and games, and wide open spacs, so it is great for families and couples and individuals to just be. The home is clean, well equipped and heavenly - be prepared for a unique experience...oh and we'll even throw in the linen. Three large bedrooms contain a queen, double and two single beds. Large kitchen and lounge, with expansive views over the valley and lake. Outdoor tables both sides of the house, perfect for a relaxing breakfast. Hammocks for you to use. Just escape the hustle of city life to truly experience how special it is. We encourage a minimum 2 nights stay - it will feel like double that! Once you are there you won't want to leave. One night is available depending on availability, though we prefer not to rent it for one night on weekends. It is 20 minutes from the highway. Also please be aware during school holidays and public holiday minimum stay requirements are applied. White Light is just 20 minutes from the iconic Seal Rocks, with Cellito and Treachery surfing beaches, family-friendly Elizabeth beach, 7 mile beac and even Shelly Beach where you can get your gear off, all less than half an hour away. It easily sleeps 6 and has 3 bedrooms with a queen bed, double and two singles, plus a huge spa bath bathroom and separate toilet, wrap-around verandah, fully equipped kitchen with brand new Blanco cooker, laundry with washing machine, spacious lounge with massive wood burning combustion fire with firewood supplied, outside bbq and table and much more. Far off the beaten track, on an long unsealed road, with just one neighbour on call if you need anything, White Light is truly private, great for families wanting to just chill and reconnect. There's heaps of books, games and entertainment, and fabulous bushwalks at your door. There's a small telly if you must - but we don't. It's nice to get away from the electrics and computer games. There's deliberately no Wi Fi - but you can dongle if you have one. This home is all about getting back to nature - and enjoying time to just be. If you don't see a Wallaby while you stay here, your eyes aren't open. We can't guarantee it - but every time we are up there we always see at least one. A walk early morning or dusk are good times to go spotting. King parrots, kookies, the occasional koala, goana, billabys, eagles and a menagerie of aussie locals play all around. There's even chickens in the coup - and fresh eggs if you're nice to them! White Light has solar power, plus full electrical co backup so there is never any dramas around supply. Dogs and cats are welcome - but please keep big dogs outside. The property is fenced - but only cattle fencing, as is the country way. There is a dam - in a fenced off paddock, but its not for swimming. Because of its private setting, and location, its best not to bring toddlers, kids that aren't risk aware or anyone who may need fast medical assistance. MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS BOOKING PREFERRED -
This really is a unique and spiritually uplifting part of Australia. Our yoga friends love it as it has a certain calm and sense of spirit. The farms and lush greenery surrounding our place, the bush-walks right on the door, the tranquil Smiths Lakes and the plethora of world class beaches just 20 minutes away make this an amazing get-way. Its a great place to base yourself for family and friends fun. Just bring your pushbikes, your fishing gear and kayaks for the lakes and your swimmers for the beach - and you're off!
  • We loved the stunning view of the lake, you wake up in the morning and it is there outside your window, this gorgeous view of the lake in the distance, hills and trees. All you can hear are magpies calling and the occasional cow mooing. The house has a verandah right the way around and the log fire and stunning wooden floors add to the comfort and beauty of the whole experience. June is a wonderful lady, kind, thoughtful and generous and we will be going back again when civilisation gets all a bit too much for us.

    Donna2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a fantastic 2 week stay at Topi Topi. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the veranda taking in the magnificent views. Our stay was so peaceful and relaxing, we enjoyed exploring the nearby lakes and stunning beaches. June had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely return.

    Fiona2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic getaway and the view was what really enchanted us and made you feel that you were miles away from your day to day life. We wish we stayed for a week!

    Samara2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • June's property is beautiful, very well appointed and has everything you'd ever need. It is a dream! June is quite friendly and responsive, she clarifies any questions you might have and suggests things to do around the area. I've stayed in several properties like June's, but certainly this is one I would be returning any time. Escape from the big smoke and relax here!

  • Beautiful location with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend out of the city. Very helpful host.

    Jarrad2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great easter weekend at this house - what a beautiful location. The kids loved it - lots of place to play and run around in - plenty of board games to keep them busy. We spent most of our time outside the house in the hammocks or lounging in the balcony. Highly recommended to those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for a bit.

    Achint2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning place, could look at that view all day! The house is fully equipped for every need and the fresh eggs laid by the chooks were fab! Also, June's directions for the house were spot on and her communication throughout was so helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Dave2015-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! A lovely 3 bedroom home with amazing views! We loved the serenity of White Light, enjoying the chance to come together as a family without the interruptions of everyday life. The kids did not miss tv (even though there is one available, we didn't feel the need to put it on!) and thoroughly enjoyed the large selection of games available. It was an easy drive to the many beaches and lakes which we visited each day, and our dog loved being able to be on holidays with us! June is a wonderful host, she truly made us feel right at home and readily replied to our messages. We can't wait to come back!

  • You've got to see this place! This unique homestead had lots of beautiful handmade detail and styling that blew me away. Loved sitting by the fire taking in the view through the full length glass windows, feeding the cows and roaming the acres. This place is cosy, the people are great and it's exactly as described if not more. My only suggestion would be to take gumboots in case of wet weather. Our kids loved it and are begging to go back again!

  • "Lazy Acres" is a lovingly restored farmhouse- staying there was like stepping back in time living like an early settler, but with all the mod cons that make life more cosy and convenient ! The view from the comfortable living room is stunning- huge glass panels allow uninterrupted enjoyment of the rolling hills , dam , cattle and beautiful bird life. Had a great time ! Many thanks again Jasen

    Bungwahl, NSW, Australia

Situated on a small farm near Myall Lake this well appointed cottage is ideal for family groups or just couples seeking a quiet and relaxing weekend.
Shinglers Cottage is a spacious and fully equipped 4 bedroom house set on 25 acres of pasture. It is an ideal place to relax and do nothing but read or sip wine on the veranda or a great base from which to explore the area.
The Myall Lakes area is one of the most diverse and delightful on the NSW coast. Shinglers Cottage is located on a rural property in close proximity to lakes, beaches and forest trails. The closest beach is Seal Rocks which is an easy 20 minute drive or about 25 minutes to Bluey's, Boomerang and Elizabeth Beaches a little further north. Myall Lake is literally across the road and through the bush but the nearest access is at Mayers Point. Turn left out of the front gate and there is a dirt road on the right about 500m along. The track down to the lake is quite rough and probably requires a 4WD but is a lovely quiet spot. The nearest boat ramp access is at Bungwahl which is 14km to the east. There is a better concrete ramp at Neranie Sands about 3km further on. Turn right at Bungwahl in the direction of Seal Rocks and less than a km turn right at the co-op building on the right and follow the signs. Neranie Sands also provides shallow water and sandy bottom ideal for children to swim. There is also a good boat ramp at Violet Hill at the passage between Myall Lake and Boolambayte Lake. There are also a number of forest drives with one of the tallest tress in NSW not far away down Stony Creek Rd at Boolambayte. There is also access to the Wallingat National Park via Sugar Creek Rd just north of Bungwahl. The nearest golf courses are a 9 hole course at Bulahdelah or another 9 hole course at Sandbar which is just past the Smiths Lake turnoff about 23km from Shinglers. Both courses are very casual and good for kids to have a hit. The nearest championship courses would be at Forster (50km north) and Tuncurry (50km north). Great Lakes Winery is worth a visit and about a 25km drive via Wattley Hill Rd which runs off The Lakes Way about 4km to the east of Shinglers. It is a wonderful area with plenty to explore or just have a quiet beer or wine on the veranda at Shinglers.
  • Perfect!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Mal and Amanda's. It was in such a beautiful private location we felt like we were coming home! The tennis court was a massive bonus and we spent most of the weekend there! :D

    Jess2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with 7 other ladies for a relaxing hens getaway weekend, and everyone absolutely loved it. Mal & Amanda made sure the place was all ready for our group, there was chopped firewood and kindling, and the kitchen was fully equipped to handle the big meal I prepped on Saturday night, and the tennis court was a great bonus. The hosts really thought of everything. Our group loved getting out of the city to this quiet country retreat, and we said several times that we'll have to come back again! Loved it, thanks so much!

    Robyn2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mal and Amanda were great hosts. We didn't meet them directly however their directions regarding the property were very clear and they were kind enough to leave us a bottle of wine. The house itself was very comfortable with two large bedrooms downstairs and all utensils necessary to cook with. We had a lot of fun playing doubles on the tennis court and the house was a short drive to some beautiful areas such as Seal Rocks. Would definitely recommend.

    Hannah2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful house with everything you need to be comfortable. We were two families and it worked perfectly - it's spacious and there are plenty of things for the kids to do (tennis, football, basketball and board games) It's fitted out with quality linen, towels and toiletries. Plus an incredible bath and lovely shower. I would really love to come back in winter when you can use the log stove and really hunker down.

    Cormac2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was the perfect place for us to stay the weekend whilst attending a wedding on a nearby property.

    Gwyneth2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mal provided me with a lot of useful details prior to arriving making it easy to relax from the outset. The accommodation was incredibly spacious and it was clean. As a family of 6 we had plenty of space and down time - the kids loved the games room upstairs, we enjoyed the fireplace but by far the biggest draw card for our sporty active kids was the tennis court, complete with in built soccer goal sand the basketball backboard. We were 20 minutes to a swim at Elizabeth Beach, close to Seal Rocks and Neranie Lake. We would most certainly love to stay again.

  • I would highly recommend this place. The farm is stunningly beautiful. Rodney was extremely friendly and made our stay very comfortable.

  • The forest lodge is set truly off the beaten track so great if you're looking to get away from it all. The accommodation is clean and the room we had was well sized for a couple. Not sure if we met Victoria or not - it appeared most folks were out for the evening. Regardless we had a fine stay overnight

    Jihed2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria's place was just what I needed to explore both Myall Lakes and Barrington Tops. Victoria and Rodney were great at communicating all of my stay needs and gave great local knowledge tips. A very comfy stay and the place was very clean. Wandering around the farm and seeing all the animals was great. Hope to come back some time soon.

  • This house was a great place to stay at in The Gap. We were the first visitors and Victoria was more than willing to help us with any queries that we had. The house is exactly as described but beware of the steepness of the driveway! I would highly recommend this property.

  • My husband and myself were very lucky to find such a place that was both extremely comfortable and pet friendly. Cath was so friendly and accommodating opening her house up to make us feel as if we were at home. I sincerely recommend any one to make this the place stay. Sharon and Terry

  • What an incredible stay! We were lucky enough to be amoung the first guests in Billabong Cottage's new glamping set up and it was beautiful. A gorgeous bell tent down the bottom of the property with beautiful surroundings and a really beautifully styled interior. With a bathroom near the tent and a designated bathroom to shower in at the house, we were very comfortable and well looked after with baked treats in the morning to look forward to. Cath treated us like family and even babysat our puppy, Muffin, while we went to dinner one night. We loved the stay and that it was dog friendly and close to beaches and other towns like Dungog and Forster. A great experience, highly recommended. We'll be back!

    Joanna2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough about Cath's bnb--it's beautiful, clean, charming, and in a gorgeous part of the country, and Cath is a warm and generous host! The gardens and bird life on her property are fabulous--I even recorded it to share with my friends and family. Unfortunately we could only spend a night with her, but would have loved to stay longer. Thanks, Cath, for a wonderful time!

    Michele2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I arrived very late in the evening and a surprise salmon pie and glass of wine were waiting for me after a full day's drive. Gorgeous cottage in a beautifully quiet setting. Luxurious room and private bathroom felt more like a spa! Cath is a great host and made me feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this relaxed B&B to anyone.

  • This is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay with lovely and thoughtful hosts! The location is a great stop over on a trip along the coast with everything you need and a comfortable bed. Our 5 month old puppy absolutely loved the space to run around and Bex was very gentle and patient with him while playing with him the whole time. We would highly recommend this place to any couples or families with dogs!

  • Our family would highly recommend a stay at Lee and Denise’s place. Our family stayed for two nights and we had the most enjoyable time. While Denise was away at the time of our stay, Lee was the most friendly and helpful host we have ever had. Lee gave the children bread to feed the chickens and let them collect the eggs, we could use their swimming pool and we borrowed his kayaks to explore the nearby lake. This accommodation was great value for money and the location is perfect to see the many sights and attractions in the local area that are all just a short drive away.

    Rebecca2017-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice, quiet place to stay, surrounded by some farm and lots of trees. The bird song was great. The place is nice and tidy on the inside, and the kitchen has everything you need. We really enjoyed our peaceful two-night stay there.

    Grant2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • For us (family of 3 with a 1.5yo toddler), The Bach gave us more than an escape from city life. We adults got the much-needed peace and quiet and the toddler got to roam around with Bex (Denise's gorgeous dog) and chickens. PROS: all necessities were provided as described in the description, perfect location to explore all local attractions, quiet and peaceful surrounding, away from busy motorway, filtered water tasting amazing! CONS: none. We will definitely come back in the future.

    Rafal2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was above and beyond what we'd expected, the place was very clean and modern and very private. Denise and Lee couldn't have been better hosts. Thank you both for everything

    Paul2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a fabulous time in Denise and Lee's place. We found this out as soon as we opened the gate and drove in. Denise and Lee were super hospitable, the cabin and the surrounded vast area embellished by a beautiful pond altogether made an unprecedented experience for us.

    Hamed2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Bach was everything was everything we hoped for and more. A scenic, rural setting that was a short drive from some beautiful beaches, national parks and lakes. The property itself was extremely well-stocked and it was the perfect place to rest and recharge. Denise and Leigh were incredibly gracious hosts, and we can't wait to get back there ASAP. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Thanks again!

Our cabin is the ultimate relaxing getaway! Close to nature as possible in our permaculture garden, this space is lovely and peaceful with stunning surroundings. The fully equipped modern cabin has everything you need to make you feel at home. If it's adventure you're looking for the cabin backs on to hundreds of miles of forest great for walking, motorcross and Mountain biking. as well as some of Australia's best surfing beaches.
This cozy cabin perfectly sleeps 2/3 people. It is fully furnished, with a fridge, kitchen and bathroom. There are bunk beds provided, the bottom bunk is a double bed and the top is a single bed. Bed linen and fresh towels provided.
There is a small convenience store within 5 minutes walking distance that also has a small food takeaway section and a garage. We do recommend having access to your own car if you want to reach all the good beaches and lakes etc.. 4x4 driving would be even better, there are some fantastic beaches that you can drive on.
  • As described it is a lovely little cabin in a very scenic area. We arrived in the dark so it was a bit difficult to find but Richie was outside and waiting for us. He was helpful and answered all our questions about the area. The kitchen had most supplies but no microwave. The shower was warm and there was an oil heater to keep us warm at night. Luckily we took our own bottled water to drink as none was supplied. We would gladly stay there again.

  • Amazing, the disconnection from the world was so relaxing and cathartic. Great area and lovely people!

  • Such a relaxing weekend away and great location! Thanks Richie.

    Ivy2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space , clean and comfortable . Can get hot in summer, there is a fan provided. Overall served its purpose. There is no lock on the door so have to sleep with door unlocked unless you close all the doors but then there is no fresh air and gets super hot . Richie was responsive and helpful . Recommended

    Shweta 2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin at the rear of the property is delightful. It is compact, clean, with everything in its right place. The location is also great for getting to amazing beaches, lakes, and forest drives. Richie is a most warm host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Anna2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, we loved Richie's beautiful hideaway tucked away in Bungwahl. We were so pleasantly surprised as to how much there is to do in the surrounding areas - and Richie's place was perfectly situated amongst beaches, lakes, bushwalks aplenty, and a nice restaurant less than half an hour away for Sunday lunch. The space itself is just gorgeous - peaceful, among leafy surroundings, and so lovely to be in. We loved the little touches like the BBQ and the funky indoor lights. Communication was fantastic also. We loved every moment and will be back!

    Claudia2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was really nice and cozy, very clean and had everything we needed. Secluded and tranquil, just as described! Perfect location and will definitely be staying there again!! Thanks for having us :)

  • We had an amazing stay with Richie and Jackie in Bungwahl. They are lovely hosts, very friendly, flexible and easy going. The cabin in the bush seems brand new - very clean, well-equipped and nicely decorated, with a lovely veranda looking out over their property. It's location is a perfect base for exploring The Great Lakes area and Richie and Jackie are happy to help with local tips. We would totally recommend their listing and them as hosts :)

Big horizon, in all seasons: rustic 'chic' slab hut - all re-cyled materials - on 3-acre property on pristine Myall Lake, Myall National Park, NSW. One of only 4 private lake-waterfront properties, just 7-8 minutes drive to Seal Rocks #ryanhut
At the hut you will experience the rhythm of the day: the big sky, rain on the tin roof, and the shifting reflections on the lake. This private waterfront slab hut property is yours to enjoy. We are committed to careful use of energy, and are solar powered. The summer is here. Embrace the 'hut-ness', embrace the landscape. The soft slouchy lounges take away all worries. Gaze out across the lake. The slab hut itself, with its contemporary kitchen, is for rent. Our rental price includes making up your king-size bed with sun-dryed cotton sheets and providing soft bathroom towels. We are able to accomodate a couple with a baby. The hut is not suitable, or safe, for small children. The coastline and beaches are pretty much as natural as they were 50 years ago, and way back further. Being in a national park, there is restricted development. There are views for miles with no houses - or people - in sight. Incredible, given we are only 3.5 hours from Sydney itself. And an interesting side story - one that's part of Australia's contemporary history - the slabs are the same wood, from the same forest, as used for the Sydney Opera House. Our family was contracted [way back in 1960s] to supply all the wood. You will need a car. I recommend a trip to Seal Rocks and a walk up to the Seal Rocks light house itself so you can get a sense of the stunning coastline and raw beauty of the local landscape. The idea is to surrender ..... to having a holiday.
The access to many of Australia's most beautiful beaches - seven minutes drive to Seal Rocks and Light House beaches, a bit further on are Bluey's, Boomerang and Elizabeth beaches. The Myall Lake waterfront is literally your front door at the hut, and the water stretches to the horizon. You can jump into the hut's little boat and row into the lake or quietly walk the waterfront and take in its beauty. It is a unique setting, in any weather and season. As your host I will help you with whatever you need to make your stay special. Please note: while the hut is quiet in itself, there can be traffic noise [from The Lakes Way] at busy traffic times e.g. during school and public holidays and weekend peak traffic times.
  • We had a very special time at the hut, which is located in a beautiful secluded spot surrounded by nature. The hut looks even more beautiful than in the photos and is fitted out with lots of vintage items. The place was clean and we felt well looked after.

  • Janne was attentive, helpful and very accommodating. She was a pleasure to correspond with and the hut was a transformative experience. Its exclusivity, its rustic, earthy construct and the wide living and breathing spaces were wondrous. The vista of the lake was beautiful, particularly at sundown and the quietness and the nature sounds of the area were something entirely unlike the noise of suburban and metropolitan Sydney to which I am accustomed. My boyfriend and I felt at such ease here and we enjoyed all that the hut and its surroundings had to offer. We rowed around the portion of lake upfront in the hut's little row boat, we tried to surf for the first time at One Mile Beach, combed Seven Mile Beach, wet our feet in Smiths Lake, did the scenic drive to Forster, saw the Grandis tree, kayaked in Myall Lake and drank up the lovely bottle of wine that was left for us. Alas, we're back in busy Sydney but not without a few mementoes like sunburnt skin (our fault), some mozzie bites and many good memories! Thanks Janne for your tips and granting us the extension. I'm already longing to return.

    Rebecca2014-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful unique place - highly recommended. A great private retreat with a lovely view of the lake from the living area. Rustic and natural, yet also well appointed. The place was spotlessly clean. The beds are comfy (even the trundle beds), great shower with plenty of hot water and a terrific fire place. There is an nearby holiday house, it is not visible from inside the hut and was unoccupied while we were there. The rowing boat was fun and was great to get out on the water. It is in an excellent location being only about 10 minutes drive to Seal Rocks, which deserves it's reputation as a truly amazing beach. We saw pods of dolphins (over 30 in one of them), and several whales from the lighthouse, one leaping out of the water near to the beach. Very special. There are lots of other lovely beaches and lookouts nearby plus all the lakes and national parks. It is a superb area. Janne was a great host, thoughtful, easy to communicate with and very helpful. There was a lovely bottle of wine on the table when we arrived, and part way through our stay she arranged for one of the neighbours to drop us round some of their fresh herbs, garlic and eggs from their chickens. We really didn't want to leave and would love to stay again in the future, maybe in the summer - the hut would be terrific all opened up.

  • Fantastic stay at Bungwahl Hut. Exactly what we needed for a long weekend.

    Canice2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Early pioneer rustic, meets bo ho, mixed with just a touch of urban chic. A charming property in a stunning location. We very much enjoyed our four days on the property, which had all the home-like comforts. The surrounds were lovely, we especially loved the Great Lakes Coast in the off season. Janne was very attentive and a great communicator as host, we will certainly recommend.

    Dominic2015-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the hut was perfect. We had a smooth check in and were greeted with a cute note, the fire on and a bottle of Pinot Gris - delicious! Communication with Janne was fantastic despite her being overseas. Kerry-Anne was a fantastic contact during our stay too. The hut was serene and well-equipped as all of the images and description suggests. We loved all the gorgeous beaches so close by but did a lot of relaxing and reading by the fire too. The drive there and back were quick and easy from home (Central Coast NSW) making it a relaxing spot for a weekend getaway. The only thing we would have liked is more time there! Thanks again Janne, we'd definitely stay again and will be recommending to our friends & family.

    Anna2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the hut - it's a beautiful location and the house itself is gorgeous. Janne was a fantastic host too - she was very accommodating. We'd highly recommend a stay at Ryan's Hut.

  • We adored our five nights at the hut. It was so peaceful and relaxing and we loved the chance to go out in the boat on the beautiful Myall Lakes with our little ones. The nearby beaches are simply stunning and almost empty. We are already planning another visit and can't recommend it any more highly. Janne was a wonderful host.

Have you ever wanted to try out an alternative lifestyle, in comfort, with no long-term commitment? Here is your opportunity to experience off-grid life in a beautiful rural setting. Tianjara Eco property has stand-alone solar power, rainwater tanks, and a clever dry-composting toilet system. We are sure you will love it as much as all our other guests have before you.
Our property "Tianjara" is set in 25 acres of secluded rainforest, yet only a few minutes drive from glorious beaches. Smiths Lake is at the end of the road, and there are lakes, rivers and National Parks a short drive away. Our hand-crafted mud brick home is near the Barn but you are completely private and peaceful. We lived in the Barn when we were building our mud-brick house. We have made many improvements on what was once a very basic rural shed and it is now a rustic but very comfortable and stylish space, a relaxed rural retreat, great for families. You will hear no traffic, just the sounds of nature. We designed our place to to have minimal impact on the environment, without sacrificing comfort. So we are self-sufficient in electricity and water, and manage waste with dry composting toilets. The one on the Barn is OUTSIDE! We keep chickens and roosters, we grow fruit and vegetables, and enjoy a quiet sustainable lifestyle.
We don't have neighbours, it's quiet and secluded, but just a few kilometers away you have Pacific Palms, with iconic beaches, good restaurants and cafes, and a huge array of outdoor nature-based activities. This is a really good place for surfing, fishing, bird watching, mountain-biking, or just doing nothing.except read a good book
  • It was wonderful to spend a few days at Judy's Barn and enjoy the charms of a cabin surrounded by the rainforest. My wife and I had a lovely time waking up to the beautiful birdsongs and fascinating sounds from the forest. We loved this experience, and I trust that anyone will be perfectly happy at Judy's who is looking for a little bit of wilderness. However, you must be ready for it and not be afraid to meet a few spiders on your way to the toilets at night and have to deal with the bugs of the forest... John and Judy were extremely nice and flexible, attentive to provide us with everything we needed and make us feel perfectly comfortable. They made everything very easy.

    Pierre2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend away from it all at the Eco Cabin. The setting is just beautiful and feels pleasantly remote despite being a short drive from many local attractions (Seal Rocks, Blueys etc). The cabin is cosy and equipped with all basic needs - we stayed with our two month old and can see the appeal of the accommodation for families with slightly older children! Being 'off-grid' as well as off line was a good reminder to try to do more of the same when we returned home. Thank you for a peaceful retreat!

    Emily2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Judy made us feel very welcome. The barn is on a lovely property, is very comfortable and was warm and snug in winter with the combustion fire heater. There are some good local restaurants and plenty of good drives and walks in the vicinity.

  • Tarbuck Bay was very relaxing, very much a 'back to nature' experience. Judy and John were great hosts who looked after us well.

    Sarah 2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is located perfectly between Seal Rocks and the other beaches further up north on The Lakes Way. Judy is a great host and very knowledgeable on the areas and it's surrounds. We can't wait to come back.

  • I love this place it's everything you could want and you can feel the love they've put into the barn. Highly recommend it get your nature on and seal rocks is a must !

Tianjara is a unique, peaceful, and secluded place to stay in the beautiful Myall Lakes region. It has the solitude of the forest whilst being only one kilometre from the Lakes Way and a short drive to unspoiled beaches, lakes, and National Parks Our 25-acre property consists of eucalypt forest, with some rainforest gullies and about six acres of cleared land. Our house was built in early 2000, from mud bricks made on site, trees from the property and locally sourced sustainable timber. We did most of the building ourselves. It has stand-alone solar-power, dry composting eco-toilets, greywater reed beds, and is chemical free. Your private two-person queen-bed room is across the breezeway from the main house. Quality linen is provided, and beach towels for the outdoor shower. You have a private en-suite with a shower and dry composting toilet, and a small kitchenette for tea, coffee and breakfast. There is a beautiful tropical al-fresco shower to rinse off the sand when you get back from the beach. You can relax in the screened breezeway where you can connect to the WiFi, or under the grape-vine covered pergola. A great spot for breakfast! There is a gas BBQ for you to use, but you may want to try one on the fine cafes restaurants or clubs in the area. There is a designated off-street guest parking spot. WiFi is available in the breezeway and limited mobile phone coverage, but we don't have TV. Our property has organic vegie gardens and orchards, a mini horse and two friendly dogs. We raise organic poultry for egg production, and have about 50 laying hens, and some roosters. (We provide ear plugs for the light-sleepers, but most people say they love to hear this country sound!) We love our place and are happy to share it with you You are welcome to wander around the property, just remember to close the gates! We live full time at our house, and someone will usually be around during the day and evening. We love to show our house to anyone who is interested, so you are welcome to join us for a chat and a cuppa. John makes a great coffee! If you need anything we are available, but we respect your privacy and your room is your own private space. Judy works at the local Visitor Centre and has a wealth of knowledge about the area! Tianjara is along a quiet country road, one kilometer from the Lakes Way. It is totally secluded, but not far from all that Pacific Palms is famous for. The best of both worlds, beach and country! There are several restaurants and cafes, as well as a range of local shops a few minutes drive from here. A full list is available in your room. In busy periods it is advisable to book in advance for dinner. We can do this for you if you wish. The bus from Taree to Newcastle and back stops at the end of the road three times a day; trains from Newcastle to Sydney run regularly. However, to get to the beaches and the shops you need your own car. Your ensuite has a composting toilet. It is completely odour-free, and user-friendly. You'll find that staying here is a great chance to try all the advantages of a sustainable lifestyle! We are fussy about cleanliness, and as property is chemical-free, your room has been cleaned using only Enjo products. Your breakfast ingredients will be in your room, with organic tea and coffee available all the time. You can prepare your breakfast at your leisure: juice, fruit, muesli, home-made yoghurt, organic farm eggs, hand-made organic bread, butter home made jam and local honey. If you have special dietary needs, or would like us to provide something different please let us know when you book.
  • Unique place cut away from the world in a very protected and Eco environment. Sweet and well looked after animals that you can interact with, such as chickens, horses, dogs! Friendly host! A magical place to stop by!

  • Judy's home is by far the most unique and beautiful home we have had the pleasure of staying at through Airbnb. The house itself is beautifully designed and engineered to make use of the abundant rain, sun and materials in the vicinity. Judy went out of her way to make sure we had a lovely time during our stay, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend.

  • I had the most wonderful experience with Judy at her Eco B&B. A stunning park of the world. Everything was sensational. The room was just lovely and so peaceful. It's a great opportunity to switch off and recharge. I will be back.

  • Judy and John made us feel very welcome upon our arrival. We loved the homemade loaf of bread and home-grown eggs! Thank you for the hospitality. We loved playing w the dogs too!

  • Judy and John were so friendly warm, easy going and welcoming. Their home and land with its animals, has been lovingly built and cared for and this adds to the whole amazing experience. The room is perfect and is beautiful and real understated luxury. Amazing comfortable bed and falling gorgeous ensuite shower with Windows and hearing the birds while you shower is lovely. Perfectly adequate kitchenette facilities and really really great breakfast supplied and made fresh by Judy and John. Home made bread, yoghurt, jams, fruit juice and fresh free range eggs from their chickens. Delicious. Excellent location an easy 15 mins to stunning seal rocks and 5 to easy going Pacific Palms with its shops and restaurants. And Blueys beach! I stayed for three nights and could have easily stayed a week! Judy was a wealth of knowledge about local areas and places of interest. Great fun feeding the animals with her too. I highly recommend Judy and Johns Eco lodge for your visit. I travelled alone and it was perfect. It's also very romantic if you're travelling as a couple. Gorgeous accommodation and grounds. I went away so relaxed and rejuvenated. You won't be disappointed if you stay here and explore the local stunning area and beaches.

  • We were made to feel welcome in an idilic eco hideaway. Everything from directions, and parking to accomodation and food were terrific. One night stay just wasn't enough and and we will definitely try and come back. Thanks J&J

  • Judy & John are lovely and generous hosts - generous with their produce and time. A great place for some peace & quiet in a beautiful bush backdrop - you will well and truly escape suburbia. Well located with stunning beaches only 10 minutes drive away. And Great value. We stayed 2 nights and would have lived to stay longer.

Contemporary country luxury in idylic setting, privacy and close to beaches.
Welcome to 373- our country house, set in 9 very private acres with panoramic views of the Wootton valley. Located 2.5-3 hours from Sydney, 1.15 hours from Newcastle, 20-30 mins to Bungwahl and Seal Rocks, 45 mins to Forster. This has been our passion the last few years to build and create a sustainable house, incorporating existing elements of agricultural architecture and the clean lines of polished concrete floors, galvanised steel beams and rusted metal elements. How the house looks and feels has been a driving force and we have gathered furniture from far and wide, [19thC railway lamps, French chandeliers and ironwork, massive 17thC Austrian locks and so much more],…you would not believe what we have brought here to create an atmosphere of relaxed elegance and one that also reflects the practicalities of living in rural/coastal Australia. Our every effort has been made to use a light hand on resources, the house is 100% solar powered, [with back up generator for emergency use] 100% rainwater, with over 120,000L stored, all roof areas catch water, enough for our pool too! Selective harvesting of trees provides ample fire wood for the 2 combustion wood heaters and outside braziers. Planting of native, bird attracting plants that are not water hungry, Led lighting, triple A rated appliances, passive air conditioning and the thermal quality of the polished concrete floors in the house along with the Pirelli flooring in certain areas adds thermal comfort in all seasons. Many items in the house have had a previous life, [as has part of the building], up cycling is a very addictive hobby… huge truck wheel + heavy slab of glass = coffee table! The house is clad in steel, a long lasting material and inherent in Australian agricultural building history, Australian hardwood [Blackbutt] is used in the huge decks and around the buildings which has now weathered to a lovely soft grey. There is carport parking for 5 cars. The 600sqm of the house is set out in 2 interconnecting buildings; the original building…is an open planned space with 2 reception areas, formal dining area, library {and office, which is not for use for guests please], with cathedral height ceilings and direct access to the large deck with pool, outside dining area,[ seats 20] ….and amazing views from the many floor length windows. A perfect place to relax, enjoy the setting sun, or listen to music and watch great films, [we are a bit film addicted, as you can see from our dvd library]! Or sit in front of the fires in Winter drinking wine and eating chocolate or whatever takes your fancy! Completely covered walkways and an outside courtyard [with another outside dining area] connect you to the rest of the house. There is a bistro style kitchen with polished steel surfaces and large gas range and plenty of work surfaces for those inspired to cook or assemble something delicious to eat….this house has seen so many dinner parties which is something we love to do, we have an eclectic mix of people in the area and not so many great places to eat without a drive, so we bring great produce home and dear friends bring their home grown produce enabling us to get creative in the kitchen or outside on the bbq…thankfully we have a local winery [Great Lakes Winery] for wine and special cheeses, their own angus beef and specialist ingredients and products. Our library stocks many really good cook books if you need inspiration. Sorry got carried away there…… The 2 master suites are in this connecting building which mirrors the original building except for size, it is bigger. Master bedroom suite with walk through dressing area and ensuite bathroom with free-standing designer bath, large shower, double sink and wc; the most important feature being the bath which is particularily good at sunset with a glass of wine, some aromatherapy oils and the view….you could even play some music on the B&O or Bose sound systems [f you would like a change from the bird and frogsong]! The second suite has an ensuite bathroom with shower ,wc and glass sink. Upstairs there are 2 further double bedrooms with a separate bathroom with oversized shower, sink and separate wc. A further shower room is concealed behind the library in the original building as well as a separate w.c.…so there is a bathroom for every bedroom giving you room to spread out. This side of the house also has an open plan dining area next to the kitchen with cathedral height ceilings and a reception area with slow combustion fire. There are various seating/relaxing areas to relax and have some space to yourself.. The complete wrap around veranda to the whole building provides cooling shade in the Summer and somewhere to watch the rolling mist and storms that follow the ridge on the other side of the valley at times…very atmospheric, I have often run out with my camera to try to capture the image. So if you would like to experience sustainable living at a high standard come and stay and experience this beautiful area. The house has been used for yoga retreats and would also be perfect accomodation for a wedding at the Great Lakes Winery. Well behaved pets may bring their owners! Some of our favorite places are: Shelleys beach [swimsuits optional]! the Green Catherderal, whoota whoota lookout, take picnic and camera Nabiac [national motorcycle museum, I am not a petrol head but this is really good]. Nabiac farmers market last Sat in month. Great vintage and retro shops. Dark Point, [ Aboriginal burial site amid enormous sand dunes, Bombah Point National park + Jimmys Beach] Great Lakes Winery, music events in the vineyard, wine tasting, artisan cheese plates and home grown angus beef. Robyns café Bulahdelah, retro café with good food and fun atmosphere. Pacific Palms Market and Nabiac Produce markets, great homemade goodies and some funky stuff too. The Salty Dog fish restaurant at Coolongerlookk I could go on and on ...but I won't...it is easier to see for yourself.
THE PEACE a truely beautiful area still unspoilt and close to beaches and towns A really Australian experience of the best the countryside has to offer
  • Wonderful time, beautiful house, amazing setting - it was just perfect.

    Sara2014-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! The best holiday ever. Two weeks of bliss. Amazing little touches made this masterpiece feel like a home. From the selection of music to the reading nook, the house encourages you to relax immediately. It is luxurious and extremely private with 360 degree bush or valley views making the bath a real treat. It is set back from the road unlike so many of the other country houses so it is very peaceful. Swimming in the pool overlooking the valley is like your own five star resort. The kitchen encourages the inner chef and so many places in the house to enjoy a meal. The local winery is only 10mins drive away and so many other things to do in the Great Lakes area. We also had great support for anything we needed assistance with, Jane was so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to experience rural setting in 5 star luxury. Our host Daphne was so easy to communicate with and made the booking process so smooth. We will definately be back!!!

    Matthew2015-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Daphne was extremely welcoming and had a beautiful place, very relaxing.

  • We just loved 373. It fitted 2 family's with plenty of room to move around. The view towards the hills in the afternoon were magical. We will definitely be back.

    Jo2015-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We just loved the house, it is a pure gem! The host was hyper responsive, no matter which question we had. We just cannot wait to come back to this paradise.

    Natalie2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second holiday at 373. We had an amazing stay in such a wonderful property. Thank you letting us experience.

    Matthew2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • A picturesque and tranquil setting. A unique spacious home for rest and relaxation and family time.A retreat only a short drive to seal rocks or relax and view the countryside and wildlife. The pool is a great way to cool off in the warmer months and wood fires throughout are perfect for winter.

    Melanie2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Admittedly it's a great house, but our entire experience was ruined by a housekeeper who was "shocked and distressed" to find the key under the wrong mat, a pool cleaning pole not in its place, a garbage bin full of rubbish and bathrooms that evidently needed cleaning. We paid a $180 cleaning fee along with our booking fee, but nonetheless went through and cleaned up the house and left it in a very respectful condition. However when I received my review from Daphne I was so shocked to see what we had been accused of. Firstly Daphne complained that the key was left under the wrong mat, that myself and the other 9 guests over the 3 days used too much rubbish for her liking. We were accused of breaking the pool fence which was loose and rickety when we got there as it is isn't screwed into the deck strong enough. I politely requested photos of the alleged damages we were accused of, and was first ignored and then hung up on by the housekeeper. Following the terribly sensationalised version of events in the review Daphne left on my airbnb account, she sent me a private message that said "Don't even think about coming back." Well Daphne, I would never come back to your house, as you and your housekeeper are completely irrational, and complain about trivial matters that I have never had any complaints about in all of the properties I have stayed at. Every single thing you have mentioned in your review of me has been blown completely out of proportion or is an all out lie. But it is your cleaners complaints about having to clean the bathrooms and look for the key that is the most absurd thing of all, especially considering we paid $180 on top of our booking for her services.

  • What a great place to stay! Beautiful location in the Australian bush and just minutes from awesome beaches. Nicole was great to deal with and the place was really well equipped. Would have no trouble recommending the place to anyone looking for a quiet gets away.

    Mark2015-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a simply fantastic time at Nicole's place. It was brilliantly located near a range of beaches but off the beaten track a little so we got some beautiful peace and privacy. We stayed over the New Year period with friends and small children and it was fantastic. The place is very family-friendly and the kids being able to safely run around the closed-off deck was a small perk we praised Nicole's forethought for! Having the studio apartment was also a huge plus as our two friends who were sans kids could still enjoy time with us whilst escaping to their own studio. Clean, lovely, surrounded by bush and birds - we would definitely stay again!

    Kat2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house was awesome! Comfortable furnishings with a beautiful deck which overlooks the bush and lake. Cannot recommend highly enough for a couples weekend away or family gathering.

    James2015-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house was everything we expected and more. The picture's depict it perfectly and the house was stocked with everything we needed for the weekend away. Everything was clean, tidy and in good condition and we had no issues with any of the appliances or electrical. The house is in the perfect spot if you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle. Absolutely no one around, lots of bush land to go walking in and the beach only a 5/10 minute drive. Will definitely return here. Thanks Nicole!

    Stephanie2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely location! All 7 of us had a week to remember, super fun times on the bikes, swings and kicking the ball around on the grass. Great house for natural light and lovely quiet retreat. On the cold day lit the fire and rugged up on the couch watching movies. Thanks again!

    Liam2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time! The place is wonderful and private with a beautiful view and is still close to the lovely beaches. We loved sitting by the fire and reading. Will definitely be back! Fantastic stay :)

  • We loved our stay at Woodstock! The house is clean and bright and we felt at home straight away. It's was a really peaceful way to spend our weekend.

    Adam2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying at Woodstock for 4 nights. Coming from a dryland farm in SA this place was the perfect tree- change for us. The house was clean, spacious and filled with lovely art and an awesome coffee table that we all fell in love with!!! The house brings the outside in, with its massive windows and sliding doors, you have a beautiful aspect from wherever you are in the house. Nicole was very easy to communicate with, and if we are ever back in the area, we would love to stay here again. Our kids 7 and 5 loved the open space and swings outside. Even the duvet covers in all the bedroom are gorgeous. This area ( Myall lakes) has to be one of my favourite area's In Australia.

  • We came from Melbourne looking for peace and quiet. We found it here. So relaxing. The bird life is amazing. Every convenience is just down the road, but it's away from the bustle. Thanks for having us.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time while staying at Gina's. The house is located in a beautiful area and it's very spacious and comfortable. You can even handfeed the parrots in the morning on the balcony. Gina was very welcoming, helpful and flexible which made the whole stay even more enjoyable! I Definitely recommend her home for a holiday.

  • We arrived late at night after a long drive from sunshine coast. The motel was easy to find as it is along the highway. Patrick stayed up and showed us where to park, and where the cabin was. Many amenities were provided such as towels, soap and shampoo, microwave, fridge etc. Really lovely place to stay. Cannot fault the hosts, they were lovely people. Will definitely come back and recommend.

  • My family and I arrived around 6pm on New Years Eve. Patrick was very friendly and provided all we needed for cooking a simple dinner. Patrick brought out a local map, shared his experience and suggested a few tourist attractions for our next day: Seal Rocks and Neraine at Myall Lake, both are great places for family and kids. The rooms are cozy and clean towels were provided. the town was very peaceful. we will definitely go back!

  • We stayed at Andrew & Cathy's place during Labor Day long weekend in Bulahdelah. It's a really nice country farm property. Our room was one of the ensuite, clean comfortable and well equipped. Andrew & Cathy are very attentive and helpful hosts. Highly recommended to anyone who's planning to visit the Great Lakes/Port Stephens/Bulahdelah area. Wish we could have stayed longer. Oh and if you are coffee lover then you are in luck, Andrew makes GREAT coffee in the morning.

    Renae2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Andrew’s was lovely. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and Andrew was a brilliant host. He made us a delicious breakfast and we had a great chat, would highly recommend!

    Charlotte2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic home away from home! The room was massive with a comfortable bed, lounge and private access to the balcony with a nice view. The ensuite was well sized with a generous amount of shampoo, conditioner and soap provided. We were there for a quiet and not very social getaway and Andrew was very respectful of that. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and it was great chatting with the hosts and learning more about their property and lives before we left. Thank you!

    Caitlin2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous B&B - Andrew and Cathy are the loveliest most welcoming hosts you could hope for, and their home is beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean and super comfy with its own en suite and a big wraparound balcony that provided private access. Couldn’t have asked for more, thank you.

Our quaint , cosy cabin is close to the Great Lakes and National Parks, where you can do things such as bush walking, swimming, boating, bird watching or just being together and taking a little time to breathe. There is a cook yourself breakfast of bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, bread, milk and orange juice for two provided. Markwell Valley , where the cabin is located, is a rural area and as such it is very quiet and peaceful, an ideal place to get away for a couple of days to unwind.
The cabin has a beautiful view over the valley so sit back on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the sunset . Take a stroll down to the river surrounded by trees and bird life . Enjoy the peace and quiet and nature . Also available is a private yoga session with Christine who lives an easy stroll away. Christine is a qualified yoga instructor with 30 years experience . Price on application.
  • Black Wattle Cabin is great place to relax and unwind. The simple yet homely cabin is on a lovely property surrounded by bushlands - you really can feel the serenity! We took our dog who absolutely loved being able to roam around free while we sipped coffee in the morning (and wine in the evenings!) on the balcony. Lisa was super lovely to deal with and prompt with communication. The location of the cabin isn't too far from the high street in Buladelah so if you need to stock on food supplies, it's not too far away at all. However, the lovely breakfast supplies were enough to last us for a couple of days and a really nice touch. We highly recommend this place to just kick back and relax.

  • We had a lovely stay in a secluded location to break up our drive from Sydney to Byron Bay. The surrounding area was beautiful and little touches such as breakfast provided for us in the fridge made us feel very welcomed. We would very recommend staying here.

  • Secluded, pretty and private with everything you need. A lovely little spot for a quiet escape

    Cass2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Super peaceful for a few days chillin. Lisa made it very easy to come and go with no hassle. Its very private and Lisa left us alone to chill which was appreciated but she made sure we know how to get her if we required anything at all, which we didn't because the place is so well set up. Lots of personal touches make the cabin comfy, the cupboards and fridge are stocked with every basic item u need. The bed was very comfy, in fact one of the best 'away from home' beds we have used. Our two small dogs were also welcome which was nice.

    Marieken2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Lisa's place. Perfect for an escape weekend from Sydney. Beautiful setting with views over the rolling hills. Really enjoyed looking up at the stars whilst sitting around the outdoor fire pit. Our hots were really nice and left us to enjoy the cottage. The place is really well equipped and stocked up with tea, coffee and cereal. On arrival you will find a full breakfast to cook up on your first morning with fresh eggs from the hens, a really nice touch. We were only up for a short time but managed to get in some sights nearby including a walk up Alum Mountain (great views) and a visit to NSW largest recorded tree (the Grandis) it's Grand! We would highly recommend a stay.

  • An excellent property very private no overlooking neighbors. Very nice well stocked kitchen. Outdoor table on the balcony was great for the family. There were even toys for the kids.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at The Bali View. The house was as per description and images, located in a beautiful area with lot of things to discover around. I would definitely recommend this place for some relaxing time.

  • Steven's Bali View accommodation was amazing. It was very secluded but close enough to Smith's Lake and the beautiful beaches of Blueys and Boomerang. The house was decked out with a nice big kitchen and the master bedroom had a killer view (and allowed for star gazing through the window from the bed at night). Not to speak of the masther bathroom which was huge and clean. Steven provided us with thorough instructions to make sure we could easily find the house and the keys to get in. It was a great weekend away and I definitely recommend staying here.

    Chantal2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and clean upon arrival. It is very secluded which was great if you want a peaceful weekend away. The house had everything I needed and it was close to good fishing spots. The bath and shower were amazing ! The only downside to the trip was that the BBQ was not clean, one of the outside lounge chairs arm rest was broken so we had to be careful when using it and the drive way needed a spruce up as its a very narrow and a gravel road also the sign to the house 'bali view' out the front was covered by grass and trees so it was hard to see exactly where the drive way was when i first arrived. Steven was a great host, he replied to all my messages and ensured that all my last minute changes to my stay was possible. I would absolutely recommend this place as its a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

    Jade2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at Balie View twice and both times it has been excellent. The hosts leave a pile of magazines, some videos and games which cater for the odd rainy day. The house is very welcoming and we always have good time here.

    Natalie2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most incredible stay at this property with the family. The kitchen was very well equipped, which allowed us to enjoy home-cooked meals. Breakfasts and even yoga on the deck with a magnificent view. It did get very cold at night but Stephen made sure that was taken care of by providing us with electric heaters to keep us nice and toasty, as well as plenty of blankets. This place was more than what we expected, peaceful, serene, and absolutely breath-taking. Stephen was a wonderful host, he provided us with very clear instructions on how to get to the location. Will be back!

    Fen2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • What’s not to love. I booked Bali View to share some time with English friends. Such a treat for them to wake and look upon the beautiful bush view from the comfort of bed serenaded by cheeky kookaburras. The birds were respectful, just a short quiet chorus. Of course they expected to join us for meals which we had on the veranda. Weather was quite stormy and wet for the time of the year but we were cosy under cover watching Nature at her best tantrum. Instructions to the destination were good and we had no trouble finding the house and what a delight when we came up the driveway. Host photographs are accurate , reality even better. All facilities provided, kitchen fabulously equipped and the outdoor shower was magnificent , to my mind more than the beautiful indoor master bathroom. Overall loved the decorative Bali theme.

  • Jane's place was lovely and spacious. It's in a beautiful area not too far from some attractions such as Forster and Seal Rocks. The house itself is very big - too big for just myself and my partner! It's furnished beautifully. Unfortunately our stay was not as we thought it would be due to the horrible weather we had so we did not get to enjoy the kayaks or the tinnie. We also experienced a blackout on our last night there which lasted a few hours (we ended up going to bed because it happened at night) Obviously neither of these issues were a fault of Jane's - just bad timing. Jane was lovely and good with communication.

    Alana2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house was really nice, the view was spectacular. There was heaps of things to do around Tarbuck Bay/Forster. I would recommend better shower as we could only have 1 to 2 mins shower between the 4 of us but overall it was great. Thanx to Jane and Jim, my friends and I had a one wonderful weekend away :)

  • This house was amazing, amazingly clean, modern and amazing view from almost all the rooms. Quite close to everything, local beach and cafe are great. Beautiful lake is shallow enough for kids to wade and play in. The lake is so peaceful and gorgeous, we could look at it all day from the house, especially the sunset, it made the view like an amazing picture. Two things that prevented our stay from being a five star experience. 1: access to the lake from the house was quite difficult, at least for seniors and kids. I thought it was an easy walk from the back yard, but it actually involved walking steep and rocky path. But it is not owner's fault because apart from the photos, easy access to the lake from the property was never in the advertising; 2: maybe I am being fussy or spoiled from my previous experiences with other AirBnb or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) hosts. We booked the property for three nights with 6 people, fully equipped property usually means more than two rolls or toilet paper and a box of tissues provided. I got more than enough supplies of toilet paper and tissue from Coles for less $10. And for each shower, we got a tiny bar of soap not bigger than a match box. I guess all I am trying to say is a few more dollars to make your guests fell more at home should be a good deal. Overall, we enjoyed the property and the area.

Pieced together with fine taste and an eye for natural art in its richness. The windows are able to be slid open so the House can breathe. The kitchen is simple and effective- with the Sun beaming in the Morning. Outside there are giant palms that keep the treehouse private. A little sanctuary on Smiths Lake. Go there if You need time to slow down and relax. Admist the Noise and Haste. You will love it!

  • We had a great stay at Bobbie's treehouse. We absolutely loved the feeling of being up in the trees. It is beautifully decorated and we slept very well in the comfy bed!

  • Bobbie was so accommodating - we were given tips on beautiful places to view the sunset, things to do around the area, etc. The listing itself was very lovely with a modern kitchenette and bathroom. We were provided with heaters to warm us and blankets galore. There is a lake which is only a minute walk away, as well as lots of beaches and nature walks in the surrounding suburbs. All-in-all, we had a wonderful time and have already recommended this listing to some of our close friends and family because we were so pleased with it!

  • Lovely place. Images are accurate and host are very responsive. Location is somewhat remote and adds to the charm. Closest beach, Cellito (10min), is fantastic. Property is large and fits many people comfortably (keeping in mind two bathrooms only). Thanks Rebecca and Gareth!
