Places to stay in Tomales
Our charming and quiet, one bedroom historic cottage reflects a comfortable getaway! It is located in the heart of historic Tomales, 3 miles from the ocean and is adjacent to Tomales Bay and nearby Point Reyes National Seashore. Great for strolling, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, and just resting & relaxing.
Marinette, situated in the historic village of Tomales, Ca, is a historic cottage at the edge of town and offers a welcome and private retreat for visitors and travelers to scenic Northwest Marin County. Tomales has a rich social and architectural heritage and is surrounded by open hills and agriculture, most of which is protected into perpetuity by Marin Agricultural Land Trust. If you are seeking 'a home away from home' base that offers rest and relaxation, and the sounds of birds, village life, church bells on Sunday, and an occasional cow mooing, you have found the right space. We are currently using enhanced cleaning guidelines to make your stay more comfortable during the pandemic. We welcome you to Marinette, Historic Garden Cottage.
Our cottage, the "Marinette," located just off Highway 1 and three doors east from the bakery and deli. This one bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps 2-3 people. Just a 5 minute drive to Dillon Beach and 25 minutes to the Point Reyes National Seashore makes this destination perfect for simple relaxation or outdoor adventures such as hiking, kayaking, cycling, whale watching or exploring the back roads of coastal Marin.
  • Wonderful. Best place for a quiet weekend getawaynear the city.

  • Beautiful little town. I enjoyed unplugging from the world. Att has no service and it made it more relaxing from the hustle bustle life. Donna is great!

    Will2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's cottage was absolutely charming! She warmly welcomed us to a beautiful, bright place that did not disappoint. The place was very clean and perfect for our weekend getaway. The kitchen was perfect and she had organic coffee and tea from the garden available for us. She had a binder full of maps and menus for local places and she told us about the grocery store and bakery that were a nice stroll down the street from the cottage. The place has some of the original redwood still in tact after they made a few remodels and it had a futon which was perfect for us to watch movies on at night. The wifi was great and the cottage had plenty of space, much nicer than being crammed in a hotel room. The water did smell a bit like sulfur so that was a bit off-putting but they had fresh drinking water and since we weren't spending much time using the water it didn't prove to be problematic for us at all. Have already recommended this spot to a few friends and hope to come back in the summer when we make our next trip up. Donna was so wonderful, gracious, and helpful and the property is so charming and beautiful (with a convenient location to various sites) you won't want to go anywhere else!

    Channing2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cottage that Donna & her husband created for guests. Everything was as stated & even lovelier than the pictures. We particularly appreciated Donna walking us through the cottage & sharing the updates & history with us. The bedroom was very cozy & comfortable. The kitchen was not wanting anything & we enjoyed our breakfast & morning coffee at the little table looking out at garden. We also really enjoyed walking around Tomales - a small but very sweet town. Thank you Donna for making a Valentine Day special for us.

  • It's the perfect place for a creative retreat. Lots of space for arts and crafts with lovely acoustics. We'll definitely be back. :)

  • This is a very unique spot! If you're looking for something out of the ordinary I cannot suggest this enough. It's an excellent spot and an amazing host thanks Bert again

    Branden2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Indescribable! Such a magical experience. Loved the art, music (record collection), piano, and quirkiness of it all. Great place to visit if you want to recharge your creativity. Recommend visiting the Point Reyes National Seashore (we did a 5+ hour run there Saturday- perfectly marked and mapped trails, potable water and bathrooms along the way), Nicks Cove for dinner, and brunch on Sunday at Estero in Valley Ford before hitting the trails above Bodega Bay. Bring cash for the bakery on the corner across the street.

With your private studio you'll have a view of the ocean and a less than a three minute walk to the beach as well as the general store and Dillion Beach Cafe! This place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (dogs)! Coffee and tea will be provided, as well as fast internet and HBO dish TV.
It's a small and quiet community with happy people enjoying their vacations.
  • Great rate with an even better location. Not much else to say but wow - exactly what was advertised and what I needed. Cozy cottage steps away from a very convenient general store and restaurant. Yet, still quiet and secluded. Beach was less than a 3 min walk away. Eileen was very helpful and responsive. Would rent this spot again.

    Eric2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Literally across the street from the beach and a 5 min walk from beach access. Views of the beach from the porch. A cute market is across the street and the studio is perfect for a quiet night in or just a base of operations for a great wine country weekend.

  • Great place.

    Bowen2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location just a short walk to the dog-friendly Dillon Beach. Eileen was incredibly responsive and took care to ensure we could find food options during the busy holiday season.

    Victoria2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and close to the beach and the store. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it smelled delicious! Eileen’s spot is very cozy and she is very sweet about checking in by text to be sure we are settled in and enjoying our stay. I would definitely stay here again. It has table and chairs and lights on side deck and also has beach boogie boards to use.

    Jennifer2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Eileen's place has the best location in the area. It is located directly across from the general store which has everything you can think of. It also has a gift shop inside. Next door to the general store is an amazing restaurant called coastal kitchen. The views from Eileen's patio are beautiful and the sound of the waves are incomparable. We walked to the dog-friendly beach in about 5 minutes. Eileen did a great job at communicating and allowed us to check-in early which allowed us to make the most of our vacation. Thank you, Eileen! We hope to enjoy your space again in the future.

    Tera2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Grateful there are still wonderful people who create such welcoming spaces. Can’t beat this location and this gracious host!

Enjoy a peaceful visit to the farm in this cozy and comfortable bed-and-breakfast retreat. Wake up with breakfast brought to your door, then spend the morning leisurely exploring the surrounding apple orchards and gardens. Located on a working farm/cidery, you can learn about apple culture and even stroll through the orchards tasting different varieties of apples during the harvest season. The farm's chickens provide very tasty eggs which you'll enjoy for breakfast; there are cows and lots of wild-life just outside your door!
The cottage is set up comfortably for two people with all the spa amenities. Guests have stayed here for the last several years; you can read reviews online by following the review link on our website after searching for our name (AppleGarden Cottage) on the web. Breakfast is brought to the cottage each morning with all organic and home-made items. Fresh eggs from our pasture-raised chickens, local dairy items, and our own hard cider is stocked in the fridge.
Tomales is 68 miles from both San Franciso (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) airports. There are many hiking opportunities just a short distance from the farm: Point Reyes National Seashore has wonderful trails to explore. There are local cheesemakers who have educational tours; Tomales Bay is perfect for kayaking, and of course there are several oyster farm choices for the bivalve lover! Spectacular beaches are just an easy drive away. If the weather's nice, bring your bikes! EVC available for your car.
  • I absolutely loved staying at the AppleGarden Cottage! The location was idyllic and I had the best evening cooking, watching movies, and reading by the fire. Waking up to freshly baked scones and scrambling eggs from Jan + Lou's chickens was the perfect way to start the new year. I felt incredibly cared for by Jan + Lou -- they thought of everything one mind need and made for such a lovely stay.

    Hannah2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a wonderful stay with wonderful hosts! Would highly recommend for a restful vacation.

    Kate2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Applegarden guesthouse was a comfortable and enjoyable mini-honeymoon retreat for us for the weekend. Jan, our hostess, was very friendly and helpful taking time to explain their cider operation in detail for us, and the breakfast she provided each morning was delicious and wonderfully presented. I particularly enjoyed watching the shaggy cows playing through the kitchen window in the morning. The automatic gas fireplace was a nice way to heat the space, the bathroom floor was always warm, and the wifi was good which was very helpful considering there is no cell service in this remote place. The nearby town of Tomales was lovely as was Dillon Beach. One small note for the future guest to help set expectations is that this farm is relatively small and close to the road, though we only heard cars twice when sports cars zoomed past. Thanks Jan so much for a wonderful stay!

    Alan2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time here. Jan was very gracious and responsive. The cabin was the perfect size and space, we loved sitting by the fireplace and devoured the home cooked breakfast Jan made for us each morning! It was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and we definitely plan on returning.

    Akshai2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here with Jan and Lou! The cottage was beautifully appointed and stylish, with a wonderful kitchen, cozy fireplace, and amazingly comfortable sofa and bed. The views of the cows in pasture added to the farmhouse vibe. The best part of our stay were the delicious daily breakfasts brought over every morning. We loved the scones and make-your-own-waffles. Plus, there were two bottles of Jan and Lous delicious hard cider waiting in the fridge, a perfect way to end a day. One of the best Airbnbs and hosts we've had the pleasure of staying at!

    Kelly2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jan and Lou's cottage is the perfect place to stay when visiting Marin County. Their property is quiet, cozy, and comfortable. It's an ideal place to rest and rejuvenate after a day of exploring Point Reyes, the Russian River, and many of the other local attractions. Jan and Lou went out of their way to provide us a special experience. The fridge was well-stocked with Straus Creamery items, and we awoke to a wonderful breakfast basket at our doorstep each morning. We were absolutely spoiled and can't wait to return again soon.

    Scott2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this magical place? The setting, the super comfy mattress, the warm fire, the standout hospitality, farm-fresh eggs and veggies, and homemade breakfast delivered to door. This was one of the most memorable and wonderful experiences I've had on Airbnb, due mostly to Jan and Lou's exceptional hospitality and the thoughtful touches they put into every detail of their place and guest experience. It started when Jan made an exception to their usual no pets rule and allowed us to bring our small pet bird (provided we take special care to make sure he didn't do any damage!), then continued to Jan's warm way of communicating just what to expect to check-in, local tips about the area, and allowing us to check in a couple of hours early. When we arrived we are pleasantly surprised to find the fridge full of locally-made goodies that we enjoyed with gusto during our stay--from the the deliciously tart apple cider (brewed and bottled by Jan!) to the Straus family yogurt and half to half, to the dozen farm-fresh eggs laid earlier that day by the hens on the farm. Jan left us a toiletry kit with all the bathroom basics, and each morning delivered delicious homemade breakfast treats--the first day scones, applesauce, the second a light and fluffy waffle batter with bacon and all the fixings. The home itself is furnished with everything you'd need to settle in, from password-free WiFi to a cloud-like mattress and linens to satellite TV + Radio and lots of games and books for those craving a quieter, analogue evening. Thank you, Jan & Lou--we can't wait to come back!

    Stephanie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • There simply are not words to describe what a wonderful experience Jan & Lou provided for my husband and me. Fabulous breakfast baskets delivered to the cottage each morning. The bottles of hard cider in the fridge which they grow, press, and ferment. Watching them press the apples from their orchard into fresh juice (and tasting the fresh juice). The lovely gas fireplace and heated bathroom floor. The understated elegance. The question isn't IF we'll be back, but WHEN. And when I accidentally left my art supplies behind, Jan didn't miss a beat, FedExing them to me immediately.

A rustic, cozy cottage nestled in the majestic redwoods of Sonoma county makes the perfect weekend getaway or month retreat. Relax in 2 acres of landscaped garden or drive to convenient restaurants, the ocean, or San Francisco.
This is perfect for the person/persons who love nature. It is a cozy converted chicken coop with an added deck and outdoor shower. The fridge, microwave and hot plate make it easy to stay in although the adorable town of Occidental with its delicious restaurants are fun.
This is a no through road so it is very quiet. And even though the houses are far apart, the neighbors are close and watch out for each other. There is a beautiful walking path available to the neighborhood.
  • Had a lovely time staying at Josephine’a cottage. The fresh air, hot tubbing under the stars, and laying in a hammock between the redwoods were all aspects that I especially enjoyed. Our hostess was lovely and very gracious! I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for some rest and relaxation.

This rustic yet luxurious cabin is the perfect place to unplug. Walk through the woods, relax by a fire, and enjoy the food and wine of the Russian River Valley. 10 minutes from the beach. Minutes from Occidental, Graton, Forestville, and Guerneville. Main House has one bedroom, an upstairs with two twin beds, one bath, and is open loft style. 5 acres, trampoline. High-speed Internet. AT+T doesn't get great cell service. Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile do.
The house and cottage are on 5 acres of redwoods. The house is a one-of-a-kind cabin with an incredible fireplace and great stonework. Our family has made some of our greatest memories sitting by the fire, listening to and playing music, and enjoying each other's company.
The Russian River Valley is a beautiful area with lots of great restaurants, wineries, breweries, farms, cheese shops, oyster farms, beaches (ocean and river), hikes, and even canopy tours. Everything is within 10-30 minutes by car.
  • Luke's cabin was one of the best places we have ever stayed. There are some many unexpected touches that really made our stay so special. We loved the redwood trees, bath tub, record selection, fireplace, solitude. The kids loved their own little cabin, the trampoline, building forts in the forest, the kids DVD selection and board games. Luke was incredibly kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. We created some lasting memories here, already planning our next trip to this special cabin.

  • My friends and I had a great stay at this gorgeous cabin. The house is beautifully decorated, carefully considered and well-equipped for guests. It is a perfect location for exploring the coast, vineyards, and several small towns nearby, but equally perfect for staying put! We enjoyed sitting by the fire, being surrounded by redwoods out every window. Luke offered great tips for exploring the area and very clear instructions regarding the house. 10/10!

  • This cabin and whole property is truly a dream!! Don't hesitate to stay here. Pulling up the driveway to the cabin, I could immediately tell that this was a special place. Walking into the cabin itself - I was blown away by the amazing kitchen, the cozy living room with a fire place and record player (with great vinyl collection), and the comfy bed! Having breakfast on the deck in the morning was the perfect start to the day. The cute town of Occidental is amazing too and Luke provides wonderful recommendations. Bodega Bay, Sebastopol, and lots of other great towns nearby. It was a dreamy stay in your very own redwood forest with access to so many great adventures in the surrounding areas.

  • Sooooooo good! Great stay!

    Jonathan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this cozy cabin so much, and already want to plan another trip. It truly feels like a home away from home. Spacious, adorable, and serene. The perfect spot to un-plug and relax. Happy to report that we're now competitive experts in both Clue and Mancala, thanks to the cabin's board game collection. The cabin is located in a giant redwood forest in between Bodega and Occidental, so you can experience both towns in a long weekend. We went gourmet mushroom foraging at Camp Meeker, made tons of s'mores at the huge indoor fireplace, and I even took a bubble bath in that Pinterest-worthy tub! So glad that this house is on AirBnb!!

  • Still my favorite cabin of all time

    Kim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my time at Luke's place. I booked this house for a personal artistic retreat and it was truly the very best place for this sort of getaway. The location is idyllic; tucked into the trees with gorgeous nature all around. Even with the ocean so close I found it hard to leave the house because I wanted to soak up every moment there. I spent the days making art on the front porch and the evenings either soaking in the magical tub or sitting in front of the fireplace. Luke was quick to respond to any questions that I had. I highly recommend Luke's place for a reset from busy, city life.

    Karen2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our experience at the cabin. Very special experience for us. This is perfect for a weekend getaway from the city. Luke was very responsive when we had any questions.

Just out of the coastal fog zone, you'll have a lovely ten minute drive to Dillon beach and Tomales bay with its famed oysters. Set in beautiful west Marin, only 1.2 hours north of San Francisco, the turn-of-the-century converted wooden schoolhouse and this charming studio, converted from the original schoolhouse horse stable. The property lies near the heart of the Sonoma wine country and the rugged Sonoma coast. The house is a five minute drive to Valley Ford and the town of Bodega; 10 minutes to Tomales and Bodega Bay, 15 minutes to Sebastopol, 20 to Petaluma, or the local Rancheria Graton Casino, 25 to Pt. Reyes Station and the spectacular Point Reyes peninsula.
  • Great stay, great views - beautiful location and well-kept.

    Steven2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Valley Ford because we paddled the nearby estero to the sea. The studio is more like a sunny cabin w some modern features. There was extra food and even an expresso machine. The turkeys came to roost and if you rent the house as well you will have a delightful weekend like we did.

    Sheila2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and quaint studio unit - perfect for a base in visiting Bodega Bay, the beaches, and terrific Italian restaurant very close by.

  • Beautiful spot for a peaceful weekend! Stephen was most responsive and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The location was perfect for a variety of weekend activities— climbing at goat rock, wine tasting and mineral pools all close by! Would definitely return

My home is in the country on 6 redwood acres with a private guest bedroom and an adjoining large private bathroom with a tub and shower. The queen size bed is comfortable. The living room and deck areas are available to relax in with a great view of the redwoods. All my neighbors are out of sight and quiet.
You can't miss the entry because there are stacks of milled lumber drying alongside the driveway. You will be staying in the redwoods among ancient trees in a craftsman designed home. Enjoy your cozy bedroom and a spacious bathroom with a claw foot tub and separate shower. In my country house it takes some time for the hot water to reach the faucet so please be patient.
Near my home you will find excellent early morning coffee shops in Bodega, Bodega Bay, and Occidental. Bodega is about 3 miles from my house and Bodega Bay and the Pacific coast is about 9 miles. Occidental, with its many restaurants and gift shops, is 4 miles away. Our west Sonoma county region is renowned for its ancient redwoods, beautiful coast and beaches, picturesque wine country, art galleries, antique stores, and gift shops, as well as delicious restaurants. You can hike, bike, fish, surf, kayak, bird or whale watch, or relax on the beach. Or go wine tasting! If youre looking for a zip line adventure, Sonoma Canopy Tours is just down the road from Occidental. Or continue north on Bohemian Highway to reach Monte Rio and the Russian River. Depending on your interests I'll do my best to point you in the appropriate direction.
  • Ralph is a very considerate host and the accommodation in the redwoods is very peaceful

    Geoff2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to Ralph's place because of illness, but Ralph was gracious enough to provide me a partial refund even when he didn't have to. Thanks Ralph, I really appreciate it!

    Ashish2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning facility, in the middle of a Redwood forest off the beaten track. A great base for the coast and for wonderful places like Armstrong Woods.

    Andy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice private room hiding inside woods. The only advice I would give is that you have to shower REAAALLY quickly. Other than that, everything’s wonderful. Ralph is super nice and even brought us take-out for dinner.

    Haruka2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet setting nestled in the forest. Ralph is a very interesting host. He provided us with lots of local knowledge. It was a great place for us to spend two nights while exploring the area.

    Nancy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Imagine waking up to insanely tall redwood trees around you, in a home built by an architect. That’s exactly what Ralph’s place is. My husband and I had a lovely time exploring his forest property in the morning after arriving late the previous night, which is quite daunting in the dark if you’re not a good driver by the way - his place is deep in. But because of that, we enjoyed one of the most peaceful evenings we’ve had on our West Coast road trip. The room: The water takes a little while to heat up and the electricity went out in some plugs in the morning. This is to be expected in country houses. The space itself was beautifully furnished, and Ralph provided a space heater and extra blanket to ward off the cold. The bed was really comfortable. We had no complaints!

    Louisa2019-12-28T00:00:00Z

  • Very cool space in a great location with thoughtful touches like coffee and wine we greatly appreciated. Outdoor shower was awesome too; highly recommend Colleen’s place

  • Great place. Wonderful location and amenities

    Carter2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Sebastopol! We walked from this cute cottage to Lowell's restaurant, a delicious farm to table restaurant where we enjoyed soup, salad and pizza – all made with the best local ingredients. We ate at the Wildflour Bakery and Sebastopol Farmers' Market too (eating was definitely a theme of our weekend away!) Colleen and Terence were very hospitable, the space was clean and nicely decorated with plenty of natural light, and the location was A+. One thing to note: the bathroom had a curtain rather than a door and that was fine for us but might surprise some guests. Thank you!!

    Leslie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location to walk to restaurants, farmer’s market, The Barlow, the movies. Simple, comfy lovely home base for West County adventures. Outdoor shower! Colleen is a warm and welcoming host, makes sure to orient guests and communicates quickly and well. Highly recommend this getaway gem!

  • Colleen is a sensational hostess who goes above and beyond for her guests. This charming cottage has a lot of space and an incredible outdoor shower - talk about being one with the natural surroundings. Colleen is so wonderfully hospitable and even had wine and coffee waiting for us upon our arrival. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. We had the best time. An added bonus was that we could walk just minutes to get into town and have a wine tasting! So much fun.

    Danene2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a beautiful stay at Colleen’s place ! Would definitely be back !

    Aisha2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous stay at the cottage, which was clean and tidy, loaded with charm and offered a sense of calm. From Colleen’s warm welcome and local recommendations to thoughtful touches (ex: fresh wildflowers in bud vases throughout the room; a filtered water station) the cottage was so very welcoming. Had a sound sleep on the mattress and the outdoor shower, enclosed by a roof of lush foliage, made you feel as though you were in a little secret garden— it was truly a highlight!

If you want to get away to the coast and have access to the beach in a quiet little beach community this is a great place to do it. The amenities are great and the hosts are responsive and accommodating. The views of the ocean from the front room or the deck are great and the sound of the ocean will relax you. Come and enjoy!

  • Dennis/Dan’s lil house was perfect for our getaway with our dog. Loved having a fenced yard for him, along with a water and food dish provided for him by our hosts—For us, a nice bottle of wine and a dish of packaged snacks. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils as well as coffee, coffee supplies, spices, etc. My AT&T phone did not work at the house, but the WiFi was great— so messaging worked fine- Loved our stay—

  • This was hands down one of the nicest beach houses to stay in. It was thoughtfully decorated and stylishly furnished. It's rare to find a home that makes you feel like you can sink yourself in to relax, but this would he the one. If you need a getaway trip for a weekend, you should definitely consider this place.

  • Barbara was an great host! She responded quickly to my emails and offered great suggestions for places in the area. The in-law suite was just lovely! As cozy and comfortable as can be!!Infact, I wish I could have taken the bed and pillows home with me. Felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! All the wonderful touches, like a mini champagne, coffee/tea, the robes and slippers..I felt like I was at a hotel but surrounded by the comforts of home! They have a lovely back yard area with a fire pit that sadly we couldn’t enjoy because of the weather...but we will definitely be back. Great shops and restaurants in Sebastapol in the Barstow and if you choose not to drive, we got a Lyft into town and its about a 15-20 mn ride. Just note that it also took the lyft about 20 minutes to reach the house, so plan ahead. All around cozy, comfortable, quiet and relaxing stay! Thank you Barbara and hope to book with you again soon!!

Would definitely stay again.

This is paradise. Come stay in our cozy, private studio cabin set in a beautiful meadow in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The meadow borders the Russian River where we have a large, private beach for your enjoyment. We also provide kayaks for you to use to explore the river and experience your own national geographic moment. The cabin has all the amenities for cooking your own meals plus outdoor seating and dining complete with a charcoal barbecue for grilling a gourmet treat.
This is a snug little place and we've done our best to provide enough storage for your needs. There is no washer or dryer but if you plan on a long stay there is a laundromat located ten minutes away in Guerneville. Also, while the cabin is in located in a private meadow, we have cranky neighbors who like their privacy about 100 yards to the east and sound travels at night so we ask our guests to not play loud music or be noisy, particularly at night.
The cabin is approximately 10 minutes away from the coast. And don't miss the "Gold Coast" coffee and pastry shop or The Duncans Mills General store located 5 minutes to the west.
  • This cozy, little gem was the perfect getaway for us. Thank you for letting us enjoy your meadow, private beach entrance to the Russian River, community garden and cute little cabin. Thank you for also being so attentive and helpful. We cannot thank you enough for offering us a late check out and cannot wait to return! Thanks again!

    Casi2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • We spent great time in the cabin! Clean and cosy. Thank you Jesse!

    Anton2020-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jesse's place celebrating a birthday weekend. The cabin is set in the corner of a beautiful meadow. When you sit on the porch you see the farm and mountain ridge tree line in the background. The river is a small walk away and has completely private access. The inclusion of kayaks adds value to the listing. The charcoal BBQ had all the supplies to allow us to cook dinner. What makes this cabin very special is its location. Prior to arriving we picked up oysters and cheese from Bodega/Tomales Bay. The cabin provides a relaxing space to enjoy with another. You should know before you come that (as listed) this is a cabin studio. The sleeping space is a leather futon which is comfortable but tight for two people. For the small space within the walls, they have done a great job making it a functional.

    Vishan2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little place. This is more of an "outdoors" place. Plenty of place to roam and enjoy and great access to the river. It is small (but very functional) and the sofa bed is the only bed, so take that into account.

    Chris2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Awesome experience! Expect camping/tiny home living. Bring your own water & all supplies to ensure you have a good time. Very cute & unique if you love an adventure. Very close to beautiful beaches. Can’t wait to go again.

  • Amazing little nook. Stayed here for one night and we will definitely come back. Gets pretty cold at night unless the fireplace is going so build a nice fire. So beautiful at night and during the day. Nothing like waking up on a pond and looking out at the water.

    Jubilee2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you want adventure, and to be surrounded by nature, being able to go on hikes and see the beach if you are willing to do a bit of cannoning this is the place! It is more like upscale camping than staying at a hotel, but is definitely worth it! Amazing location.

    Julian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute rustic houseboat on a small lake on a private ranch. So relaxing around the animals and nature - neat little wood burning stove to keep you toasty at night!

    Thomas2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy little house boat on a private estuary right off the highway great for a little trip up the coast. Super fast response. Bring a flashlight and good boots it’s a bit of a hike but so beautiful in the morning.

    Antoine2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fun camping experience! Make sure you bring firewood and plenty of warm blankets, and food &water. We were extra prepared and it paid off and made our experience so great!

    Machaela2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great hidden gem in a great location. Only downside is bathroom is a bit far. Francisco was a great host.

    Becky2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The boat house is simple and quaint. It’s located at the far end of the ranch, away from everything. It feels like camping in a box, where you can look out on the pond. Looking out onto the pond in the evening and morning are beautiful and calming. This is a place to just enjoy some quiet time for yourself. It does get cold, bring some blankets and a good pillow. Bring walking shoes for the trails. The beach is close by, so are local restaurants. The bathroom is a ways, so plan out your trips there also. But, the staff is great and Chanslor is good with communication. I completely enjoyed my quiet time at the boat house.

We are making our space available only for medical professionals and other essential workers at this time. We are allowing 72 hours between guests to facilitate cleaning and disinfecting - we are following CDC protocols for these, along with social distancing and hygiene. The room is a private, quiet bedroom and full bath suite on the downstairs level of a 2 story house. It is accessed by an electronic code, so no personal interaction is minimized.
You will be downstairs privately by yourself. Wifi is provided for easy connectivity. There is a large desk in the room, along with hangers, an ironing board and iron, a luggage rack and closet shelves, a mini fridge, a Keurig coffee maker with coffee and tea options, and a variety of snacks.
The house is located in the northwest area of Santa Rosa - close to Sutter and Kaiser hospitals, freeways, redwoods, wineries and breweries. The neighborhood is known locally as Coffey Park - much of the neighborhood burned to the ground in the wildfire of 2017 - fortunately, and with extreme gratitude for the firefighters, our home was spared. But much of the neighborhood is now in the rebuild stage, and it is interesting to drive through.

Woodland creekside cottage in the West Sonoma County. Surrounded by Redwood and Oak trees and sounds of the creek. 4.5 miles to downtown Sebastopol, 15 mins to the Beach, 5 mins to the Freestone Bakery. The perfect little cottage for a weekend getaway to go wine tasting, cycling, hiking, going to the ocean, or just staying in.
  • We stayed in this cabin for one week. The cabin is located in a very quiet forest area not far from the Sonoma Coastline and the cute town of Sebastapol. The cabin has everything you need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was bright, the internet was great and there is enough cookware to prepare most meals. The cabin is quite rural so not much is nearby, but all the conveniences needed (market, restaurant and laundry) are all available in Sebastapol which is about 5 minutes away by car. The cabin has a nice back porch to sit on and enjoy some time in with the redwoods. The neighbors were friendly and the cats will stop by to check up on you!

This 1952 Terry trailer has retired and attached itself to a modern living space, complete with heated flooring, push button fireplace and skylights. There is a separate entrance and the trailer/living space is secluded in the redwoods. There is a hot tub, yoga room and fire pit that is set in front of a 2000 year old redwood. The two acres of garden were featured in the Sonoma Garden Tour. Perfect place to unplug and call home when touring the wine country.
This space is unique because of the gardens it is set in. It is very secluded even though the house is on the property. The trailer was owned by one family that traveled in it with 4 children in the 50's. It has been given a new life while it still feels like the good ole days when you step inside. The living space is ultra comfortable and taking a shower with the redwoods close enough to touch makes it an experience steeped in nature.
The most outstanding thing about the neighborhood, besides the magnificence of the forest, is the absolute peace and quiet. The neighbors are very friendly but you probably won't hardly see them.
  • Josephine’s Airbnb was wonderful! A charming cabin/ converted airstream - with everything you need. The property surrounding is enormous with lots of exploring you can do on site. We loved evenings in the hot tub, laying out on the hammock and eating at our own private picnic table. Lots of privacy. Josephine is a great host, she has thought of everything. Thank you so much!

    David2020-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful place, the photos don’t do it justice. Josephine is wonderful. I highly recommend it!

    Shelley2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Josephine was a great host and we absolutely loved the place. The trailer is super charming and the building attached is very nice as well, with a fireplace and modern bathroom with a great shower with windows looking out into the forest. She also had three bouquets of fresh flowers set out for us! The photos of Josephine's property do not do it justice. Her gardens are beautiful, with lemon trees, two hammocks and tons of great areas to sit and relax.

    Madeline2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Josephine’s trailer/cabin for 5 nights, and it was everything that I had hoped for. Josephine has tended and planted her 2 acres in the redwoods for decades, and her vision and talent provides a serene retreat for her guests. The trailer is so cute, and the adjoining cabin is almost luxurious with the shower facing the trees, and heated floors and electric fireplace. I was able to bring enough food that I didn’t have to leave, and cooked on the stove and grill. Between what I brought, and the amenities, I had everything that I needed. Wonderful hammock under the redwoods and Japanese maples, lovely yoga studio to meditate and practice in the morning, hot tub under the redwoods, and beautiful trails throughout. But perhaps what/who I’ll miss most is Carl, the cat. I will definitely return to hear the wind in the redwoods.

    Ria2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a romantic little paradise: something between a kitschy piece of glamping elegance from the 1950's and a pristine modern airy cabin, stuck somewhere in a JRR Tolkien tale of a tall friendly forest just outside the bucolic Hobbit shire of Occidental. Whether it is for an uber romantic honeymoon hide-a-way or a silent spiritual retreat, I could recommend a better place to stay.

    Ethan2020-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is one of the best Airbnb's my wife and I have ever stayed at. My wife could only describe her time here as "A Fairy Tale". It's so close to Santa Rosa, but it feels like you're in another world. From the garden & meditation circle, to the hammock and hot tub.. this property has everything you could ask for. The trailer/cabin has all the amenities and is very cozy, but we enjoyed our nights even more by the bonfire underneath the majestic Redwood trees. Josephine and Ziggy are wonderful hosts, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We also brought our two little dogs with us, and they had the time of their lives! If you get a chance to spend your time here, you will not regret it. Thank you for everything Josephine, we look forward to seeing you again ~

    Michael2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Josephine's place is truly a gem. The photos on the listing are accurate but hardly do justice to the amazing property of which the trailer/apartment is only a part. The backyard is a beautifully landscaped slope of peaceful gardens, hidden benches, hammocks, and shade and sunshine in equal measure. Inside, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is surprisingly functional, with a charming nook for eating dinner, playing games, or morning coffee. The view from the shower is impossible, I'd try to describe it, but it's too good. It's also a wonderful place to grill, if that's your thing--a standard propane grill next to a large picnic-style bench/table. Josephine is an excellent host, the kind who knows how great her place is and just wants to share it. Visit this place and feel renewed!

Kick back and relax at this charming and dog-friendly home in Bodega Bay! Situated right on Salmon Creek, you'll be able to enjoy the views of the water and nearby mountains right from the back deck. While on the smaller side, you will still have plenty of space to enjoy your next getaway. Be sure to take advantage of the convenient kitchenette and back deck with plenty of seating and a grill. What's nearby: The home is located in Salmon Creek, just two miles north of Bodega Bay. The closest grocery stores are Pelican Plaza Grocery & Deli and Diekmann's Bay Store. Nearby coffee shops include Left Coast Latte Organic Espresso Bar, Roadhouse Coffee, and Terrapin Creek. Nearby restaurants include La Bodeguita, Boat House and Gourmet Au Bay. Things to know: Kitchenette available (no dishwasher/oven) Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee
  • Lovely setting right on the creek and a casual stroll away from the ocean. No wifi or cell reception, which is amazing, but do note that. A bit of a drafty place with no oven and a gas fireplace we couldn't seem to activate. Price felt a little steep for what it is, but we had a truly relaxing, star-filled, and quiet time. Great, giant couch.

    Jordan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect couples' getaway cottage. It rained our entire trip and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Well equipped kitchen, massive sofa that makes you feel like you're wrapped in a blanket, fireplace, very comfortable bed. Being on the river watching all kinds of birds and waterfowl with the shore of the ocean in the background was mesmerizing. We went to The Barlow in Sebastopol, grabbed some great local ingredients and enjoyed cooking at the house with the rain hitting the rooftop. Hated to leave. We brought our two elderly dogs with us...they didn't seem to want to leave either.

    Jennifer2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy home in a beautiful waterfront location. One thing to keep in mind when preparing to visit this property. We couldn’t find any instructions on how to navigate the properties amenities . There’s no cell signal available in the local area, the property ad describes no WiFi, and the land line on the property blocks long distance calls. This was an issue when we needed to contact the property managers with questions about navigating the home’s amenities. After learning in how to navigate the appliances and amenities we had a wonderful stay!

    Vincent2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • This little house is such a gem! My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary/babymoon and it was perfect for the two of us. While you're only a few minutes from the restaurants and shops of Bodega Bay, this house feels like a true retreat. The deck overlooking the creek is a perfect place to relax and read a book, practice yoga or dine while listening to the ocean and taking in the scenery. It was exactly what we were looking for to escape from the city and experience the healing quality of the sea. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend this place.

    Noelle2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and charming bungalow along the creek...very romantic and peaceful. An added bonus was the option to check out late on Sunday for an additional fee - made it feel like we gained an entire extra day!

Santa Rosa is close to wineries, parks, good restaurants, music. My home is about 1 mile from downtown, was built in 1906, has a small private room & bath, claw foot tub, NO SHOWER. No smokers please. Close to bus line, breweries and shops. Lovely area for walking. Pets under 20 lbs ok. I have 3 small friendly dogs who greet you.
Great part of Santa Rosa, close to downtown. Nice area of old homes, many older than mine which was built in 1906. I have tried to keep that old feel to the house and I want it to feel warm and friendly. Private room with large private bathroom but no shower, sorry.
My home is an Historic District with many older homes and trees. It a lovely area to just take a walk.

The room is very small but perfect for one. There is a tub only but that wasn’t really a problem for me. Linda was very nice and made my stay easy. You can’t beat the price for a place to crash

  • This cute little green house was exactly as expected for the bargain price. And the pets are adorable. Expect a little outdoorsy feel! Felt a like a comfortable, safe, glamping room decorated with a mini fireplace and cute lights. And the bed was comfortable!

  • This was the perfect spot for our family to enjoy a quick weekend getaway! The location is PERFECT - walking distance to the cute little village, 10 minutes to Nick's Cove, a very short drive to Dillon Beach, etc. The house was extremely clean and had all of the amenities you could want, plus some additional nice touches (books and toys for our toddler!). It was a very peaceful and magical vacation - we'll be back!!

  • We absolutely loved our stay. The house was so quaint and homey. It did not feel like staying in a rental. We were there for our 2 young kids basketball tournament and were able to walk across the street to their games. It could not have been more perfect. We fell in love! Sara was so accommodating. I couldn't say enough good things!

Sara has gone above and beyond to make sure everything was there for our family. Our kids loved it and we will be back! Such an amazing space!

    Leah2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect weekend getaway - close to some of my favorite spots, easy access to the coast, and felt nicely tucked away. The space itself is absolutely beautiful and designed for being cozy (that wood fire stove was perfect!). Sara is also extremely responsive & shared the perfect amount of info - will definitely be coming back!

    Dory2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sara’s place in Tomales! Beautiful location and amazing views of rolling hills and grazing cattle. We loved hearing the owls at night and staying cozy near the fireplace. Wonderful stay!!

    Erin2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous house!! Oh my gosh how relaxing!! You’re away from the world, yet pretty close to SF (less than 90 minutes). The house is gorgeous, decorated so beautifully. Great for adults and/or families. With toddlers it can be a little hard with no gates on stairs, but we made blockades with the furniture. They have kids books which was such a nice touch. They also have Netflix so you can watch some shows if you want. There are cows on the same street, and it’s so mellow there. Restaurants are 10 to 30 mins away, though there’s a place in the 2 block downtown a few mins walk away that we didn’t get to that looks cool called William Tell. And let’s not forget the coast—you are a 10 min drive from Dillon Beach and many other beaches for wonderful Photo ops. We got some great family pics here. Water smells a little funky (sulfur smell) at this place but it’s clean and host will explain it. Country living. This was such a fabulous getaway for our family including our baby and my parents. Highly recommend!

This is a studio on a country property with 2 acres brand new really quiet.
  • I highly recommend Hubertos rental. The place was clean, as advertised and in easy reach of the Bay area and wine country. Its in the country which is perfect and the host gives perfect intructions for your private entry. Has a stove, microwave, fridge, plates, cups and utensils, iron, all the essentials to be comfortable for your stay. I personally stayed 2 days and briefly seen the host 1 time on our last day. Extremely private and pleasant. highly recommend it.

  • Its a very tidy and comfortable studio in a wonderful rural setting on a beautifully landscaped property, and its a short drive from everything you need like Safeway or Costco! I really enjoyed my stay there.

  • If you’re looking for a super clean and private place to stay with a countryside feel, this is the perfect spot. We felt right at home and our two dogs couldn’t have been happier with the large property to explore. Highly recommend!

  • Huberto's place was awesome. Just adorable. It was very welcoming, clean, safe and the location was great. I got to meet Roxy their new puppy upon my check in. Made my night:) I needed a place to stay for a few nights while I worked in the Santa Rosa area. I will for sure be back next time I have to work in that area. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay.

Rediscover the joy of the outdoors in this forest cottage. The quaint residence features rustic natural materials, varying patterns, wood surfaces throughout, a cozy corner wood burning stove, and a backyard patio with a dining area.
The romantic cabin is set in the trees overlooking Tomales Bay. The cottage exudes a rustic modern elegance with unique art and antiques. A cast-iron gas fireplace provides warmth and romantic ambiance. The sumptuous bed and soft fine linens will ease your senses. The spacious patio, with recliners, provide everything needed to relax and enjoy the ebb and flow of Inverness living. Settle in and let the wildlife and changing light on the trees entertain you. If you love to cook, the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. Or, enjoy a lovely evening out at one of the many acclaimed restaurants in the area. Take a hike during the day, rent a kayak for an adventure on the bay, or visit some of the quaint coastal towns. Return to your own private cottage to enjoy romantic nights by the cozy wood stove. Rich furnishings, heated floors, a big leather couch and tasteful decorative touches will cradle you in the lap of unexpected luxury in this delightful cabin.
The cottage is located in between Inverness and Inverness Park, the latter being home to Inverness Park Market - a market like no other, and not to be missed. Just a few miles down the road is the town of Inverness with cafes, restaurants, and pubs.
  • Excellent hideaway for weekend or extended stays, super comfortable and surprisingly better than described. The negative review of road noise did not bother us at all. Host checked in with us immediately to remedy any issues found on arrival, of which there were none. This is how AirBnB should work every time.

  • Such a fantastic location and beautiful vacation cottage. Spacious and well-appointed. And the wood-burning stove is the cherry on the top. If you're visiting the Point Reyes area you won't go wrong staying here.

    Zach2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is absolutely fantastic: gorgeous, open, cozy, and well-designed. I'd definitely come back and recommend that others stay here.

  • The getaway in Inverness was just beautiful. Private, clean and cozy. A close drive to Inverness park and Point Reyes Station.

  • Really cute cottage. Beautifully-decorated and both a convenient and serene location. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

  • Great cabin for a weekend getaway!

    Mark2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We’re big lovers of Marin but had never spent deliberate time in Inverness and loved our two days tremendously, by and large for the home we found in this well equipped and cozy cabin. David and Sandhya were wonderful, attentive hosts and provided all the guidance and special touches to make our stay seamless and meaningful. Great location, clean, comfortable, and grounding space. We especially took advantage of the the wood stove and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and working our way through the record collection. We’d happily return!

  • This spot by the beach was just what we expected and more. Perfect location for bike rides and walks, if that’s what you like, and a drive to town is just minutes away. The only downside is spotty WIFI so maybe if you have work to do, not the best spot. Brook had a very thoughtful set up and we had a very comfortable stay! Would recommend to a friend and would stay again!

    Autumn2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful walk on the nearby beach; delicious dinner in Bodega Bay; peaceful morning coffee on the deck -- we had a great time at Carlo's place!

    Timothy2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at the Studio! The place was clean, tidy, and small without feeling cramped. Loved how relaxing it was, and how close it was to the beach. Having the coffee maker was really great, too. It was a little too cold to enjoy the outside porch, but hopefully we’ll be able to return to the area when it’s warmer.

    Erica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location - you can walk across the street to amazing Schoolhouse Beach to enjoy the sunset or tidepools. Relaxing, cozy, cute. A wonderful spot!

    Jason2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little getaway, as described and shown. The clawfoot tub and bathroom were extra nice, looking out on the hills. Just be careful when you open the door in the morning or you might scare off the deer like I did! :)

    Molly Rose2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed two nights and had a lovely time visiting this area for the first time. Great location, beautiful views of the ocean, and walking distance to the lookouts / beaches. Brook was responsive and gave clear expectations on check in. Listing was also accurate as to what to expect. I was concerned it'd be too cold for me but the portable heater kept me warm. I would stay here again.

    Airalee2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stopped here for a one-night stay on our way down the coast. Very cute place with thoughtful touches. It was very easy communicating with the host and simple check-in process. The place had everything you needed and we loved the view of the ocean as well as how close it was to the beach and town (really great seafood restaurants!) Would definitely recommend to others!

The Lovers' Landing -- Welcome This is the lower unit of a two unit house. For larger groups we recommend renting both units. This unit has a full kitchen, dinning nook, large living room, one large bedroom with a queen bed, and one full bathroom. There is a gas fireplace located in the living room of this unit. There is one parking spot included with this unit and additional parking available on the side of the house. There is a gas and a charcoal grill available for your use. This unit also has beautiful and large back deck with sweeping views of the bay. This house reflects the lives of my grandparents. My grandfather was a master mariner by profession. He sailed in the American Merchant Marine from the 1920s to the 1940s, circumnavigating the globe more than 25 times. His wartime service was as captain of the Liberty ship, SS John Fiske, whose identifying plaque from the ship’s bridge is on the eastern exterior wall next to the steering wheel. When they retired in the 1970s, my grandparents chose this location so that he and my grandmother could have a quiet life in the woods, but at the same time could see the horizon and part of the sea. The tree-top setting is just a half-mile from the town of Inverness with its store, post office, café, and restaurants; and a ten-minute drive from the restaurants, shops and weekend Farmers’ Market of Point Reyes Station. Beaches, hiking trails and the Point Reyes National Seashore are within walking distance or a short car ride, and the south-facing deck is sunny and warm all day. But don't take our word for it--read what the New York Times had to say about Salt Water, the local restaurant, and the delights of the wider area. '36 hours in Marin County', 27 Jan. 2013. We hope that you enjoy our house, enter into its spirit enjoying the views of Tomales Bay, the hills, woods and beaches of western Marin and Elephant Mountain bathed in the ever- changing light of the Point Reyes Peninsula, a very special ‘Island in Time’. • We stayed with our 2 month old daughter and we had a great time! Lots of space, clean, we enjoyed the gas fireplace. For those of you who are critical about how a mattress might be in an Airbnb: this one was perfect!! Not too soft! Enough space for the bassinet and playmat! Great location to all Point Reyes trails and sights!
