  • A lovely residential area and Beverley was an excellent host. Very homely atmosphere and incredible amount of privacy with a bedroom and a lounge to use any time. Very comfortable bed!

  • Can't recommend this lovely place enough. Beverley was such a friendly, helpful host despite me getting delayed on my way up. The room/annexe is so cosy and has everything you could possibly need. Lovely, quiet room for a great night's sleep too. Thank you for a super stay.

    Sara2017-05-26T00:00:00Z

A lovely self-contained ground floor flat within an old farmers cottage. Bright spacious lounge, fully equipped kitchen, shower room, double bedroom and outside patio area. Canal walks, town centre and large Tesco all a short walk away.
The flat was converted in 2014, featuring brand new fittings throughout. It is a comfortable size for a couple, with a particularly nice bright lounge and a decent size fully functioning kitchen with a fridge freezer and a washing machine. I am happy to leave bread/ milk cereals for breakfast. there is a wi fi connection.
Canal Hill is a pleasant road with a mixture of old and new properties, mostly detached. It hosts the entrance to the Great Western Canal (100m from the flat), which offers pleasant canal-side walking and a horse drawn boat in the summer. Tiverton is well located for visiting the beautiful Devonshire countryside, and the north and south Devon coastlines are both within driving distance for enjoyable day-trips. The historic cathedral city of Exeter is accessible via a pretty 30 minute drive through the Exe Valley countryside or via the motorway if you prefer. Night life in Tiverton itself is fairly quiet but there are a good variety of pubs and restaurants to keep you entertained. There are also several country pubs within a short driving distance. Bickliegh Mill is a lovely coffee/ gift shop and restaurant located a short drive away in the Exe Valley. The Fisherman's Cot is a popular pub on the River Exe with a beautiful outdoor seating area offering riverside views of Bickleigh Bridge.
  • Lovely and spacious flat in a beautiful, quiet location; the Grand Canal is literally across the road. Sheila was very welcoming and made sure we had settled in ok. The flat is very well equipped and feels like you're at home, all you need is your own food, although Sheila was kind enough to provide some basics like bread, coffee, tea, milk etc which was all there when we arrive. For anything else there as a Tesco supermarket 5 mins away. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Ash2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very warm welcome from Sheila and the house was very clean and spacious for us both and 2 small dogs. The shower is very good and the bed was comfy with the town and Tesco just down the road and a nice canal walk for the dogs, if we were ever back in this area we would definitely used Sheila's place again.

    Wendy2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Easy walking distance to canal and town centre. Beautiful surrounding countryside & several National Trust properties under 1 hour drive.

    Stephanie2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was very welcoming and very well situated in a quiet part of Tiverton, there was bread and milk left for us upon arrival which was a really nice touch. The flat itself was cosy and really well presented and a joy to be in.The canal was less than a 5 minute walk way and and made for a lovely walk.Thank you for letting us stay we would come and stay again in a heartbeat.

  • Good except for two minor issues

    Glenda 2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely lovely place to stay; comfy bed, sofas, excellent wifi, brilliant powerful shower and lots of little extras in the kitchen we weren't expecting from condiments to bread and milk. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area, especially with the beautiful canal just a short walk away from the property.

    Katy2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described. We had a lovely time and particularly liked the area with the canal basin and walks along the canal. The coast was easily accessible from here both north and south Devon. Our stay made us want to return to Devon as quickly as possible. Sheila was a super host there to speak to if needed but left us to our own devices. Thank you Sheila

My place is close to the town centre, river walks, canal walks, bus station and half way between Exeter and Exmoor. You’ll love my place because of it being an old Devon long house filled with character and features. Silence (apart from the dog!) Lola is a lovely dog but can be a bit noisy when greeting guests!.Our home is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
  • This is my second time staying here and once again it has been a superb visit. They have made me feel so welcome and it's like home from home. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Rory's place.

  • Rory and Jenny are very welcoming and do their best to ensure we had all we needed. Lola their dog is also very friendly. The room is offered with a separate bathroom which was perfect. We only wish we could of stayed longer. Jenny offers a lovely breakfast with homemade muffins. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend their bedroom for your stay at Tiverton.

  • Rory & Jenny were very welcoming and within minutes of arriving I felt completely at home. Don't be put off by the dog...she was excited for 2 minutes on meeting me but that was it...when I came down to make myself a cup of tea in the morning she barely looked up from her basket! Wonderfully comfortable bed, snug room, clean bathroom and interesting helpful hosts - wish I could have stayed longer to look at Tiverton and the surrounding countryside but I was breaking a journey home. Hope to come back one day....

  • Stayed here for 2 nights whilst working in Tiverton. Anika is a fantastic host and her home is beautiful. This was an ideal place to stay and I hope to come back. The house is in a quiet area a short drive from the Town Centre. I spent an hour after work walking along the nearby canal which I would recommend.

    Steve 2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, tidy and comfortable. Handy with a nice supermarket nearby. Anika was a great host and had a nice home to stay. Would highly recommend. They're dog was really shy, and didn't get to see the cat. A+++

  • Anika and Jamie are really good hosts. Their room was nice and clean, the house stands in a beautiful and quiet area. They were genial and had always some kind words when I went to work or arrived back to their home. I recommend them for all who looks for accommodation in Tiverton.

    Teiermayer2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Anika is super friendly, with a beautiful house and comfortable room. We had a lovely welcome, lots of great suggestions for things to do and some discount pizza from the pizza truck her partner runs! Hard to imagine a better Airbnb host. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

    Nicki2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay with beautiful countryside views. The accommodation is very bright, airy and clean. It has a relaxing vibe to it, due to the wonderful host and her partner - not forgetting her lovely pets, who are very friendly. The location is away from the main centre of Tiverton and is suitable for getting out and about throughout the day and having a nice quiet relaxing place to stay at the end of a hectic day.

  • If you fancy a relaxing break surrounded by countryside, this is your place. We had not been to Devon before and the location was a great base to explore surrounding towns, places of interest, National Trust properties, the coast and Exmoor National Park. Kate is a great host and manages the balance of being available but leaving you to your own devices. The guest lounge and dining area was also a nice touch, not to mention the lovely garden. We'll be back I'm sure :)

    Lauren2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay.

    Susannah2017-07-23T00:00:00Z

  • We had a lovely stay in this beautiful and peaceful house in the devon countryside. The room was extremely spacious and clean with great views, a luxurious big comfy bed and a lovely en suite bathroom with a powerful shower. Big tasty breakfast in the morning. Warm and friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome. Outstanding value for money.

    Ben2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. Friendly welcome and gorgeous clean room with lots of lovely extra touches. Will definitely stay there again.

    Amanda2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kate and James were very welcoming hosts and the room was very comfortable and well equipped. The dining area with fridge, microwave etc was a nice touch. We would definitely book again.

    Judith2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a treat to stay with Kate. We were very spoilt. Everything was wonderful, really made to feel welcome and ever detail was thought of, from fresh flowers, to a cot for my little one, to wine and a fire in the beautiful sitting room. The bed was massive as was the bathroom. Masses of choice for breakfast. All in all a perfect B&B experience.

The Garden Room is a single ensuite bedroom on the ground floor, with views over the Exe Valley. The house is set is over an acre of garden and woodland on the edge of Tiverton. Tea/coffee making facilities. 2 twin rooms also available.
This is a perfect space for one person. Called the Garden Room as you almost feel you're in the garden. Cosy and comfortable.
Tiverton is a small market town in wonderful, green Devon. We love the rolling hills and marvellous walks. Tiverton has the Grand Western Canal with its horse drawn barge, it has Knightshayes, the National Trust house and gardens, it has privately owned Tiverton Castle and beautiful St Peter's Church. It's close to Exmoor, Dartmoor and Exeter. Also the beaches of the North and South Devon coasts.
  • Louise was very welcoming and helpful. It's a lovely setting in a great part of the country and I'd definitely return.

  • Louise and Martin couldn't have been any more pleasant and helpful. Room was perfect. Clean, warm, free wifi and breakfast was lovely every morning. Beautiful home and location and would thoroughly recommend it.

    Kirsty2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's place is extremely comfortable and peaceful - I could easily have spent several hours reading the paper, drinking tea and eating toast whilst listening to the birds in the morning before I left! It was easy to find from her directions, and I got a warm welcome as well as well thought out touches for making coming and going easy. I didn't see the other rooms she has available, but mine was warm, clean, comfortable and with a great view over the garden. A lovely place to stay with friendly people!

    Julia2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Louise was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The house is in a beautiful location, and the room is very comfortable, clean and well furnished. This is a perfect b&b.

    Michael2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Martin were exceedingly welcoming. The house was very homely and the space given for the bedroom and ensuite was exceptionally clean and beautifully furnished. Any picture of the view could not do it justice, either! I highly recommend people wishing to stay in the area for either a short break or for work to choose here.

    Ben2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much Louise and Martin for the fantastic stay. The room was clean, comfortable and had all that one needs. Louise and Martin were very helpful and kind. Thumbs up from me.

A mid town terrace house which is right in the middle of Devon. Tiverton is a small town close to Exeter with good transport to and from Exeter. wonderful for those who love friendly local places. Relax, have a cream tea with scones, jam and cream!
The room is upstairs and you have a full bed, wardrobe and towels etc provided. You have access to a shared bathroom which is rather large in size for a local terrace house. You have also access to a small garden and use of the kitchen, and dinning room.
Tiverton , and old historical town with access to buses for Exeter, Dawlish, Taunton etc, if you have a car then this is a great place to live and stay in. You will love the country side, walking along the famous canal, and we are within one hour to many wonderful beaches. the house is right in town with many local pubs, and shopping places.
  • What a wonderful stay...Greg was an amazing host and Shirley Beth was great with keeping in touch via messages...maybe next time I will get the pleasure of meeting her. Would definitely recommend staying here as its in a great location and its super quiet. Its home from home and thank you Greg for making my stay so comfortable and relaxing.

  • Greg and Lee made me feel very welcome in their home. It was great to come back after work and chat with them whilst making dinner :) I particularly liked Greg's artwork all round the house. The room I stayed in was comfortable and clean. All in all a great place to stay!

    Ellie2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly host, felt like home. Comfortable bed and relatively big room. Shirley was very flexible with checking time as we arrived so late. No parking outside the house, however there is public car park just around the corner, overnight stay until 8am the next day cost £1.

    Agnieszka2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Greg and Lee was very accommodating and communicative. Great location. The room was clean and very quiet to sleep. Bathroom was in immaculate condition. I felt home. Greg kindly showed us around and talked us through the history etc. He also dropped us by car to our train station. Highly recommended as a host!

    Soner2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We've had a great time in Tiverton at Greg's and Beth's (and Lee's) place. Greg was a very very friendly, caring and welcoming host and aleays tried to let us feel as comfortable as possible. We've felt more than comfortable at this open minded, and friendly family place. They provided nice, fresh towels, a decent little breakfast, WiFi and do have a nice a clean little comfortable family home right in the center of Tiverton. Supermarket, pub and eatery just around the corner. This place is way more than standard AirBNB and to be prefered to any Hotel accomodation. Thumbs up and thanks a lot! You made our trip really nice!!

Homely & a foodies haven. Pls keep in mind that this is a home, not a hotel, so it's personal space, with personal touch. Rooms are large, well lit, w/ beautiful views overlooking Tumbling Fields (some rooms) & a stream running along the back garden, where we have a little dining area & a BBQ for your enjoyment. Central location to town centre (cross the street) & Devon attractions. No pets allowed due to severe allergies. It's perfectly poised between town centre and Tumbling Fields.
There are sheer curtains in two of the bedrooms (with black-out pull down blinds recently installed), with the third room already having lined curtains. In the summer, sleeping with the windows open can be a little noisy as you can hear cars whizz past on the road across- however, you can also hear the stream from the master bedroom, which is quite relaxing and refreshing. The bathroom downstairs is a 1/2 bathroom (by AIRBNB standards); this means it's a toilet and a sink- as you can see from the images (blue bathroom). The bathroom on the second floor has a toilet, sink and a double shower with a waterfall shower head and a pull-out shower head. You can expect a thorough breakdown of where to find things from needle and thread, medicine cabinet, ironing board to how to turn on the shower, just in case! Our aim is for you to have a comfortable stay, so always feel free to reach out to us with any comments or concerns.
  • Amazing location. Charming house with great cosy feel to it. Ideal if you want to feel tucked away but be a stone throw away from shops, restaurants and supermarkets. House has good energy. So relaxing by the fireplace. Friendly neighbors made us feel at home. Owners are super friendly, polite and understanding too. Has a Travel cot and a high chair. Kitchen is very easy use. Good washing machine. Nice selection of tea.

  • We found the house very comfortable, spacious & well equipped. Big bedrooms & comfy beds. The noise from the road at night was more than expected, but it was hot & we had bedroom windows open. Recommended for an adult group.

  • We had a great time in a lovely home.

    Guy2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly as described, very clean and spacious in a nice location. Ample parking and the instructions for the alarm, tv, oven etc were spot on. The house is clearly very well looked after! Would recommend.

    Ben2015-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful home and garden. I rented this house for 3 nights where my team and myself could work long hours, and house was exceptionally equipped even with gas heater outside which we used every evening smoking cigars on the patio. Simply nothing to complain...if we come back to Tiverton we will try to rent the same one again!

    Mario2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great New Years trip here! The house has plenty of space for 3 couples. The bedrooms were all comfy doubles, there's a large living area with working fireplace and really big tv and a well equipped kitchen and dining area. The location is in Tiverton, in a modern development area. You can see cars going past from the back of the house (beyond the garden). However you can't hear a thing as the double glazing is great. So it's really convenient if you want to be close to the town (and all the supermarkets which are very near) but it doesn't have that rural countryside feel. However you are in beautiful Devon countryside within 5 minutes of driving and it was a good base from which to go on lovely walks and explore nearby towns. You can also go on walks from the stream at the end of the garden. We had a great meal at the Bridge Inn in Dulverton, which was a great suggestion from the hosts.

    Francesca2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, fab location for what we needed. Bedrooms were all very spacious.

    Virginia2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely family break over Easter - the house was beautiful, clean tidy and cosy. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were out of this world comfy...what a great nights sleep! The only thing we did find is that the bedrooms are very bright by 5am when the sun comes up as there weren't any curtains in the bedrooms - as we were all having a break from work we didn't particularly want to be awake that early but we lived with it and the rest of the stay was perfect. We had the fire lit and enjoyed family meals around the dining table. ....the home is surrounded by other houses and near a road but inside the house you feel like you're in the country and the real countryside is only a short drive away so it has the best of both worlds. The rest of the stay was perfect. Thank you Beta for letting us stay in your wonderful home.

My property is located on the edge of a picturesque conservation hamlet and is adjacent to the National Trust property of Knightshayes Court, offering free access to walks in the grounds and woodland just over the road. The market town of Tiverton offers independent shops, weekly markets and several eating places as well as many local tourist attractions. Being 9 miles from Junction 27 on the M5, my location is perfect for that stop in Devon if you are touring the West Country or heading further south to Cornwall. Mid Devon is in easy reach of Exmoor and Dartmoor National parks and the beautiful North and South coasts of Devon.
  • A lovely room in a lovely house with the most helpful and accommodating host Frances. Highly recommend.

  • Wonderful place!! What a delight to stay at Frances's home! The room was lovely and had all the amenities you need, fluffy towels, comfy bed and the most delicious breakfast! I would definitely stay again, and Frances is the most lovely host.

  • Frances' home was very lovely and cosy and she made me feel very much at home! I was given clear directions of how to find the house on the same day. Brilliant location for me as I was attending a wedding at Middle Coombe Farm with an excellent price and amazing breakfast!

A cosy, bright one bedroomed cottage on the banks of the beautiful Grand Western Canal.
A beautiful, cosy, light filled cottage with gorgeous views across the Grand Western Canal to the fields and hills beyond. It has a comfortable king sized bed with a small ensuite with a rainfall shower. It is in a large garden on the banks of the canal - a truly lovely place for all to enjoy.
This is a rural farming community in a quiet area, right on the edge of the village. The Grand Western Canal is literally on the doorstep and runs for 11 miles. It also forms part of the National Cycle Network. About an 8 minute walk away there is a fantastic farm shop with PYO soft fruits in the summer and a lovely cafe. The Hickory Inn is 15 minutes away if walking. We are just off Junction 27 of the M5 and so it is a great place to explore the whole of Devon and even into Somerset and Cornwall.
  • Recommend this place to anyone who wants a really quiet and relaxing time away

A delightful one-bed annexe, being the old dairy at Crosslands House. Upstairs is a large open space, a sitting room with log-burner at one end and a modern kitchen and dining area at the other. Downstairs are the bedroom and modern bathroom. We are easy to find and only 18 min.drive away from the M5. Junction 27 or 28. Proximity to good road links make it a great place from which to explore the moors, coastline history, culture, gardens and food of Devon.
The cottage is very spacious and comfortable, ideal for a single or couple ( but no children, sorry ) to stay for some R & R or explore this lovely part of Devon. Autumn can be a lovely time to explore the area without the crowds of summer, Coastline and moorland for lovely walks then returning to this wonderful cosy cottage. Great pubs in local villages can provide excellent beer and food.
The area is rural with surrounding farmland. There are pleasant walks nearby particularly along the Grand Western Canal. A village with a pub and excellent farmshop is about 1.5 miles away.
  • This lovely and very spacious cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equipped. I particularly enjoyed the fire, and was grateful for Annie's help in getting to know the area. Highly recommended.

    Lynn2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful short stay at the Diary. Everything is tastefully done, clean and new. The hosts Annie and Roger made our stay special and I am sure we will be back when visiting relatives again.

    Jane2015-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Crosslands Dairy was absolutely amazing; we were stunned at how anything we could have imagined we would need was provided for. From sugar for our tea to toothpaste in the bathroom cupboard! We were warmly welcomed by Roger on arrival and he showed us around the place making sure we felt comfortable to ask any questions should we want advice on the area. He mentioned a local farm shop from which we bought ingredients for our roast chicken dinner. The kitchen is completely fully stocked; we had everything you could imagine needing. We made a roast dinner, baked bread and made toad in the hole without even worrying slightly about having to make do with creative cooking adventures using the wrong pans. All in all the stay was fabulous and it is not too far from worthwhile places to go. We drove to Salcombe for the day which was just over an hours drive and knowing we could go and collapse at the dairy was a very nice feeling. Both myself and the friend I went with would go back with partners or similarly with friends. The bed is big enough that two friends can happily sleep without feeling crammed together. Also, we both made the comment we had never in our lives slept in a more comfortable bed, the mattress topper made you feel like you were being enveloped by a cloud.

    Caroline2015-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my girlfriend loved our time at Crosslands Dairy, Annie was very approachable, friendly and easy to get in contact with. The place itself was beautiful, absolutely perfect for a couple, very comfortable and has everything you could need and has a large layout. Amazing value for money, the best Airbnb place we have stayed so far, will definitely be coming back! Highly highly recommend!

    Russ2014-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Crosslands Dairy is a real 'find'! It is so well equipped and extremely comfortable. We have been telling all our friends!

    Andrea2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Annie was very welcoming and the property was as described but better. The exterior photographs do not do it justice. We loved the garden, viewed from our breakfast table or sitting under the cherry tree. The kitchen was very well equipped and the sitting area comfortable. The wifi connection was excellent. We would happily have stayed longer.

    Janet2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend a stay at Crosslands Dairy. Fabulous location. Lovely accommodation. Friendly hospitable host. We only wish our stay had been a little longer so we could have explored the area (we had travelled specifically to attend a friends wedding) and so we could have had a few more nights in the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in!

    Matthew2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property and the hosts were charming. Very well stocked kitchen and the lovely touch of being able to by their own cider and apple juice is a lovely touch. Would recommend to anyone

This is our Dove grey bedroom on the 1st floor. The bed is a very comfortable Super king, consisting of 2 x 3 foot mattresses in a 6 foot wide frame. The duvet and pillows are feather. The room has a kettle and teas and coffee are supplied. The bathroom is adjacent with a bath as well as a separate shower. You have sole use of the bathroom. Breakfast is downstairs in the kitchen diner and is a self service affair with tea, coffee, bread, cereals and organic milk provided.
Feel free to sit out in our cottage garden and enjoy the peace and quiet, if the sun is shining (as it often does here in Devon!).
We are just one mile from our excellent local pub, the Butterleigh Inn which is renowned for its delicious home cooked food and great atmosphere. A lovely 20 minute walk along delightful country lanes. Let me know if you'd like me to make a prior booking for you as they do get very busy. There is also Bickleigh; 2 miles away (a bracing walk over the hill!) with 2 pubs; The Trout & The Fisherman's Cot as well as Bickleigh Mill with a bistro style restaurant & a large 3 storey shopping Emporium. Great for Devon cream teas. The market town of Tiverton is 4 miles & the bustling university & cathedral city of Exeter is 10 miles. Exmoor is about half an hour's drive Dartmoor 40 minutes. The coasts (north & south) are both about 45 mins drive. There's so much to see and do in Devon that you will be spoilt for choice.

The Coach House adjoins the Old Rectory looking out to the vegetable garden. It is self-contained but open plan. There is one separate bedroom with double +/- single bed. One screened balcony with double +/- single bed and one balcony with single bed. The shower room/loo is outside across the porch There is WiFi, TV is small but there is pool and table football. Cyclists welcome. We are on cycle route 3, JOGLE and the grand western canal. Scope for a larger group (up to 10) by arrangement.
  • A great place to stay with friends or family to explore the surrounding countryside in Devon. Liam greeted us and made us feel right at home with a tour of the Coach house. The accommodation was spotless and well set up for fun with a pool table, foosball and very comprehensive dressing up box! Would recommend!!

  • Really enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. Huge amount of space and comfortable for a weekend away. Lovely being able to sit outside in the sun for breakfast in the courtyard garden. Susie provided the essentials for breakfast - loved the fig jam!! Kitchen had all we needed to be able to cook bacon and eggs too ( we brought those). We were warned that the outside loo might be chilly - we were fine but this might be something to think about in the winter months. Thanks for your hospitality - we would recommend to others as a much better alternative to hotel rooms

    Ian2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to spend a weekend. An informative welcome from Liam, who prepares the Coach House and made sure we had everything we needed. Super walks right, on the doorstep, through the village and along the canal with good pubs nearby. We'll be back soon.

  • Our second visit to The Coach House was as brilliant as our first. We love the space and peace and quiet, and the toys and games including the pool table and table football. You can prepare simple meals in the kitchen, and the farm shop across the road sells a fantastic array of fresh food. Susie and her family are wonderful hosts and we highly recommend a stay at the coach house.

  • The host lives next door, so I always felt I could knock on her door if I needed anything (which I didn't). The host and her family were very welcoming and friendly. The area was quiet and the descriptions/information provided by the host were accurate

  • Wonderful stay with a welcoming and friendly host next door. Perfect for sightseeing in Devon with extremely easy access to the M5, many attractions and beaches within 20mins - 1 hour drive. The coach house is adorable with great facilities including toys and games for young and old children alike, so helpful when you need 5 minutes to get organised as well as great family fun together. Definitely recommend.

  • We had a lovely stay at Susie's place. It was ideally located to visit our friends. Susie's son Liam gave us a thorough introduction to the house when we arrived and Susie was easily contactable whenever we needed her. There was plenty of added extras in he house with the pool table and table football and would definitely work well for a group getaway as well as a couple!

  • An absolutely charming coach house. Unfortunately we were only there for one night but my kids did not want to leave. The house was beautiful and fitted our family of 5 perfectly. The directions were perfect and the location was convenient as well.

This cosy Devon cottage is perfect for two, an ideal base for exploring. We are on Cycle Route 3 of the National Cycle Network, JOGLE and the Grand Western Canal. It is excellently placed for access to the University of Exeter, and also for the city's business and legal districts. The Exe Estuary is within a short drive, for bird watching and great walking. The village has a very good farmshop and the cottage is well equipped for self catering.
The front door leads directly into the cosy sitting room containing a welcoming hearth, and a comfy sofa. The dining table doubles up as an ample workspace. There is tv and radio and plenty of books. A small kitchen is just down a step. The galley kitchen leads to the back door. Both front and back door are on the neighbour's path across which we have right of way. The kitchen has a fridge with small icebox, an electric cooker with gas hob over, kettle, microwave, toaster and combined washer/dryer. There is a space for recycling which is strictly enforced in this part of Devon, and visitors are expected to help us by sorting recycling according to the instructions provided. From the sitting room, open stairs lead to the galleried, but private, double bedroom, the dressing room and bathroom with wc and shower above the bath. The cottage is reached down a steep shared path belonging to our lovely neighbour, which needs to be considered when booking. The path has some gentle steps which you may prefer, but please take this into account when deciding to stay with us.
The village is lively and friendly. There is a church, a chapel, a pub and a farm shop. The lane outside leads to the ancient pond and the church. Plenty of National Trust properties are within easy reach, with bustling cafes and shops in Tiverton. The nearest cinema is in Tiverton, with an independent one at Wellington. For concerts and theatre, Exeter is just down the M5. Both Exmoor and Dartmoor are within a morning's drive.
  • A very cosy cottage right next to a bus stop and a delightful Pond where of all things we saw a Cormorant! as well as many friendly ducks. Only a 10 min. drive to Tiverton and the supermarkets. A very interesting church and plenty of local walks. Ideal for those who want to escape for some peace and quiet . (Mobile signals included)

  • Margaret's cottage was a really lovely, romantic "hide away" Beautifully done little cottage in a lovely area! Easy access to various places in Devon. We booked the cottage last minute to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Margaret worked hard to get it ready for our arrival. It was just the place for our celebration weekend! I can't praise it enough. Would recommend to any of our friends and would certainly stay there again was I to visit that part of Devon in the future.

    Tony2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage, great location especially for exploring Exmoor, be prepared for little/no mobile signal with some networks (was only a minor problem when communicating with Maggie and it was my phone not hers!)

    Judy2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Margaret's place. She was really easy to communicate with, and greeted us upon our arrival to let us in and show us around. Being musicians as well we found we knew lots of people in common! The cottage is cosy and well kept - very compact, but with nice modern touches, and perfect for two. If you have a car, the cottage is really easy to travel to Tiverton, Exeter, Exmouth, and even further along to Lyme Regis. We had a great time and would definitely recommend!

A spacious private double bedroom with your own bathroom in our homely bungalow. A few minutes from Tiverton, half an hour from the M5, we are down a track surrounded by fields and 110 alpacas. A must for knitters, we make British alpaca yarns. Country style WiFi, i.e. not that good. Do read the location/directions to help find us and please, no late arrivals.
Although a few minutes from Tiverton, our home is surrounded by fields and woods and is very quiet apart from the odd humm from an alpaca. You will have a double bedroom with sole use of your bathroom in a cosy bungalow. We run an alpaca knitting yarn business and we can show you the fleece and talk you through the process. Plus you may have to try alpaca socks.
Our part of mid Devon is quiet and rural. The National Trust property Knightshayes is 15 minutes away, the north and south coasts about an hour and a half away, lots of lovely walks there, Exeter 45 minutes.
  • Rachel and Chaz - thank you for allowing us into your home this weekend past. Rob and myself loved your alpacas. Hope your shows go well this year. Alice is a delight too. She's such a friendly, happy, little canine. Thank you for the farm eggs you gave us on departure too. Very thoughtful of you :-)

  • We really enjoyed (in no particular order) the hospitality, socks, comfy bed, tv, private bathroom, marmalade, bread, alpacas, dog, Location, eggs, general atmosphere and specifically the quietness.

  • I stayed at the Alpaca farm as it was nearby to relatives in Tiverton and I had a very quiet and comfortable three nights there. It is a fabulous location, deep in the Devon countryside with great views. The room was comfortable and the bathroom very well equipped. Rachel and Chas made me very welcome from the start and were great company. Sadly, I only had a brief look at the alpacas but hope to return some day with more time to explore.

  • Our stay at Alpaca Farm was short (one night), yet very nice. Location is in the middle of field which is perfect for restful night time sleep. It is actually quite easy to find when following directions that Rachel sends. Hosts were very welcoming and kind, room is cosy, clean and warm. If we again travel towards Cornwall and need a place to stay, we would choose this accommodation again.

  • Imagine; 7 hrs drive to get to Devon and as we walked through the door, we were greeted by a friendly fluffy dog, an Aga emitting welcomed heat and a log fire glowing in the living room. We enjoyed our stay very much. This is how AirBnb should be done; affordable, clean, friendly and a home from home. We cannot recommend Rachel, Chas and Alice highly enough. Great accommodation and wonderful people.

A comfortable en suite double room with TV and tea/coffee making facilities, in our rambling farm-type house on a smallholding with great views. Breakfast is included, often with our own free-range eggs. Village pub (good food) 2 mins. walk. We are a friendly and informal couple, semi-retired but busy as ever! You are welcomed as AirBnb fellow travellers. Slightly off the beaten track, but with easy access to Exeter and M5. Good for exploring mid Devon.
Our house is comfortable and 'lived in', and we welcome one or two people to stay in our double bedroom with its adjacent bathroom. Guests have use of the dining room and continental style breakfast is included. We have a large garden plus a wild flower meadow and a copse. You are welcome to sit or to take a wander around. We try to live sustainably, so the wood is used for the woodburner in winter, we have solar panels and are happy to explain how it all works. Central heating and double glazing, plus the Aga in the kitchen, ensure that we are cosy and warm all year round.
We love the peace and quiet of our village and the surrounding countryside. We are in a farming area, with a mixed community and a bit off the beaten track. Yet it takes a little over half an hour to be on Exmoor or Dartmoor, to get to the south coast at Exmouth or Dawlish. Exeter City is only 20 minutes away, with theatre, shops, award-winning museum and magnificent cathedral. For concert and major theatre shows we go to Bristol and Plymouth - both just over an hour. There are some lovely walks nearby. We get the best of everything!
  • Arrive as strangers - leave as friends! Catherine & John are very welcoming and friendly, and we were treated extremely well. The house and facilities are warm, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The village pub is excellent.

  • First time using Airbnb and what a great experience. I’ll make the review easy, I can not fault Catherine and John at all, highly recommended. I was travelling to Plymouth from Kent and stayed with Catherine and John to break up the journey, as I had an early-ish start the following day. Both were very polite, courteous and accommodating, making me feel very welcome...even the cat and dog were nice to me. The room was lovely, just as expected with an adjoining private bathroom, all set within a private corner of their lovely house. Everything was very clean and fresh. Breakfast was lovely (real coffee) and the views on the sunny morning I was there made it all the more better. Their house is set in the lovely Devon countryside, on top of a hill looking out over all the fields, it is remote but an easy drive to main roads. I left at 8:00am the following morning, arriving and parking in Plymouth centre by 9:30am, the drive that morning was also great, with some fantastic rolling roads. The only thing missing was me turning up earlier so I could have had a wander around to appreciate the views and local pub a little more. Thank you again to them both.

  • We loved staying with Catherine in her picturesque little village. She made us very welcome with cups of tea and coffee, and giving us very interesting information about the village. This was our first stay and I hadn't brought gluten free cereal, but when Liz realised I am gluten intolerant she insisted on cooking us both eggs for breakfast. A lovely nights stay.

  • The hosts made us feel extremely welcome. The house is situated in a beautiful area close to the centre of the village and a pleasant pub. The breakfast was superb as we even got fresh eggs from their own hens. We will certainly return when we are in the neighbourhood. Thank you, Catherine and John, for your hospitality. Yvonne & Roger

We were in and out quickly and returned late from a wedding but it was no problem. Her breakfast the next morning was excellent (not to mention much needed). Catherine is an interesting lady and lovely to chat to. Thank you for an enjoyable stay, we truly wish it could have been for longer.

  • We absolutely loved our stay here. It is a truly unique cottage, beautifully furnished and had everything we could ever have needed. Highlights were collecting herbs and vegetables from the kitchen garden, playing tennis and swimming in the lake! Annabelle and Mike were also the most welcoming of hosts and extremely patient with our overly excited children. Only negative was having to leave - but we will rectify that with another booking!

  • A truly magical experience, we loved our stay and would recommend to anyone, especially couples for a romantic get away. Was worth every penny, and we definitely will return. The estate grounds are beautiful to walk around in. We very much enjoyed exploring the lake on the rowing boat, playing tennis (although we are both hopeless at it!) and picking our own lettuce and raspberries in the vegetable garden. Annabelle and Mike are extremely warm and friendly hosts, very attentive and even allowed us to set up our own croquet set on their amazing lawn! The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need. Your even supplied with bacon, milk , fresh eggs and croissants for breakfast which we really enjoyed and appreciated. We recomend the Butterleigh inn (5min drive) which is the nearest local and also highly recommend The swan inn at Bampton (25 min drive) for great food. We can't thank the hosts enough for an amazing stay and highly recommend to everyone for a truly magical experience of a life time!

Annabelle and Mike were very welcoming, the perfect hosts, going out of their way to help make the weekend special for my wife's birthday. The goodies left for breakfast were delicious (particularly the fresh duck and chicken eggs laid just beyond the walled garden). We really enjoyed this retreat and hope to visit again soon!

  • The. Most. Charming. Airbnb. Ever. I've stayed in many Airbnbs over the past few years: most have met expectations, a few have surpassed them, but nothing like this cottage. If you're looking for an idyllic getaway in the English countryside, look no further. The pictures do not do this place justice. Wake to a lush garden overlooking a private tennis court (the cottage includes two rackets and balls), overlooking a meadow, overlooking a pond framed by rolling hills spotted with sheep, deer, chickens and even peacocks. Annabelle is a utterly charming host who regales you with fresh eggs (from the aforementioned chickens) and, if you're lucky enough to meet her, fascinating conversation. The cottage itself is newly renovated and includes lush amenities--in particular, a comfy mattress, high-end linens and a tub big enough for long, book-reading bath, of which I took two. I can't recommend this place more highly.

  • From the get go this place was a slice of heaven! A happy greeting from Annabelle who gave us a tour of the grounds. Everything was very well thought through and were able to truly relax. Fresh fruit, herbs (from the secret walled garden- impeccably maintained!) and eggs (from the rescue chickens which were free range!) were given in abundance and were invited to pick our own as needed. Annabelle kindly lent us their tennis raquets and use of the courts just outside our little cottage. Glorious on a sunny day! We were able to sit out in our private secluded garden overlooking the grounds, lake (complete with rowing boat to use at will) and young cows/bullocks grazing there too. Rather African in nature. The cottage itself was beautifully finished and a dishwasher makes it easy to maintain. The small touches o cereal, milk, Jams, breads and eggs didn't go unnoticed either. Hand delivered morning treats of ice cubes, raspberries, croissants and eggs really made it a personal and special time but also the secluded nature meant you were able to enjoy your own space. All in all a wonderfully relaxing time, made better by Annabelles attentive and kind demeanour.

  • We had a really wonderful stay at Oakwood Farm Cottage. The views of the countryside from the house were absolutely stunning. We very much enjoyed visiting the lake and the lovely summer house and all the little touches. The lake is full of fish and we loved watching them and also venturing out in the rowing boat. There are also a number of really nice walks in the countryside or to local pubs. The cottage itself is in the most peaceful spot, is clean and well presented and very comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and were there on hand should we have any questions. Would definitely come back, it was a wonderful holiday.

  • The cottage surpassed my expectations and was absolutely perfect for a relaxing break. It is beautifully spacious and very well equipped. The views are stunning and it was a real treat to have breakfast looking out over the hills - either from outside when it was sunny, or from the big windows when the Great British weather decided to let us down! It was also lovely sitting down by the lake to relax. There are some lovely walks from the cottage and I really enjoyed spending the week in this little slice of paradise. The gorgeous, friendly dogs were also a highlight! One small piece of advice: be sparing with hot water as we ran out a few times - although that may have been a one off/something we were doing wrong... All in all, an amazing place to stay, excellent, thoughtful hosts and I would love to return - highly recommended.

  • We had a wonderful time here! Very clean, quiet and relaxing. We would definitely like to come back some time. x

  • Wonderful cottage, wonderful location. The cottage is spacious, had everything we needed and was spotless. Chris and Liz gave us clear directions to get there before we went and were on hand if we needed anything (we didn't). Beautiful grounds and surrounding area with suggested walks. Would highly recommend - we went for a Christmas break and would definitely return to experience in the summer.

Lovely views of the Devon countryside from the house and garden. There are extensive portfolios in the house detailing our favourite pubs and restaurants, walks and days out.
Fantastic views of the Devon countryside from the house and garden with fabulous peace and quiet. There are great walks in the vicinity. The North Devon Link road, A361 is only a couple of miles away and being so centrally situated in the county it is superbly situated for visiting the sights over much of Devon.
  • My friends and I had an amazing weekend at Partridge Cottage. We were welcomed by Charlotte, the host, and a freshly baked batch of scones, which set the scene for the weekend. There was an attention to detail which I haven't ever experienced on airbnb, the hosts have really thought about everything you would want and need! The property was spacious, clean, well equipped, in gorgeous, secluded surroundings. I would definitely recommend to any large groups who are after a country break. I hope to visit Partridge Farm again in the future.

  • 9 of us stayed At Chris & Bruce's for my 30th birthday and did a murder mystery night! A brilliant oval table that we could all get round comfortably which was one of main reasons I booked. The house had all the essentials and more you could think of. Beds are very comfy and hot water for all! Everything spotless and Charlotte was brilliant with communicating with us! We were very lucky with the weather and lovely garden area too. The stars at night were incredible. It only missed a hot tub which think be a great addition as quite a drive to the nearest beach. Incredible house, everyone had a great time and we can't wait to book to come back :) Thank you!! From Davina, George, Lauren, John, Faye, Dan, Mala, Tom, and Amy xxx

  • This beautifully converted, listed farmhouse in North Devon is the perfect setting for those seeking either the peace, quiet and beauty of the countryside or for those seeking long coastal walks or other outdoor pursuits. Set against an idyllic Devon backdrop, the property offers generous bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds. Waking up in the morning offers commanding views over the countryside. The showers are powerful and provide good hot water. Hair dryers are provided. A fully equipped kitchen will allow the inner chef to go wild and local produce can be gotten from nearby Tiverton where there are local butchers, bakeries and green grocers. There is also a Tesco superstore. The hosts provided basic necessities such as oil, flour, coffee and rice which are the usual items that one never wants to buy for a short cottage holiday. There is wifi, tv and a dvd player if you want to stay connected but with the vast amount of board games, books and recommended walks television may be the last thing on your mind! All in all, this is the perfect blend of countryside charm and modern chic and you will not be disappointed in choosing the property.

  • Had an absolutely cracking long weekend at Partridge Farm. The cottage is in a stunning location and has been beautifully set up by Chris and Bruce. The fresh scones, clotted cream and jam on arrival were a very nice touch. There were 10 of us and a small dog and there was plenty of room for everyone in the huge kitchen and lounge (with wood burner). Would happily stay again in the future.

  • Absolutely lovely place to stay and enjoy central Devon. The house was exactly as stated on the website, with great facilities like the well equipped kitchen and incredibly comfortable bedrooms. Chris was there to greet us on arrival and showed us everything we needed to know and see around the house. She also came to handover keys on departure. The house is situated in a very secluded area which is excellent for a quiet weekend getaway for anyone wanting to enjoy the countryside and some lovely walks. All of the 7 in our party said they would be interested in staying here again at some point. Thank you for letting us stay for a great weekend!

  • We had such a fantastic stay at Megan's beautiful home. It is quirky, homely and full of beautiful art. The room is really spacious, clean with a beautiful view out over the fields. Megan is a wonderful host, it was like being home from home... and she does the most AMAZING shiatsu massage, feeling totally relaxed and restored. Thankyou Megan, you are a total star!

  • Two lovely, very restful nights spent at Megan's house in the country. Spacious room, great views and a very comfortable bed. Megan's warm, friendly personality is a reflection of her vibrant, interesting home. Great place to stay, wouldn't hesitate in booking again.

  • We spent the night at Megan's house whilst attending a wedding at Huntsham Court nearby. It was the perfect AirBnB experience - a welcoming room with an incredibly comfortable bed, a beautiful house in a picturesque setting and a fantastic breakfast waiting for us in the morning. She was very accommodating of our relatively tight timings for check-in and our late arrival back from the reception, and she had thought of everything. This was by far and away our most positive AirBnB experience to date and I would recommend to anyone!

    Emma2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really restful and pleasant night at Megan's home in the country. She was a very solicitous host, making sure we had everything we needed, and cooked a very delicious breakfast the next morning. Would stay here again!

  • Megan was very friendly and welcoming, and happy to help in any way she could. Her house sits on the top of a hill, surrounded by wonderful views, and with a lovely garden. It is very clean, quirky and full of art and unusual objects. The bed was very comfy and breakfast included delicious juice freshly squeezed from Megan's own apples. Jonathan had a great shiatsu session too.

    Tessa2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and full of art (it's literally everywhere). We felt it was good value and Megan is also a very friendly and welcoming host. Lovely rural location in small village in a scenic valley. Typical Devon landscape all around with rolling hills and pretty old cottages. Freshly squeezed apple juice in the morning from trees in the garden was a treat!
